this was my second project for my com modeling class - a room. it was also my first time playing with lighting and customizing materials (had to use Cinema 4D's standard materials instead of Redshift), as well as polygonal modeling. im really proud of how the tv came out

(That's also procedural / geometric / spline-based, not texture, and without expensive plugins.)

Different shapes need different approaches, but the basic setups there will work for similar things.

WHY? For gravitational deformations in spacetime, gravitational waves black holes, wormholes, "Mexican Hat" potential, etc. where you need a smooth shape but don't want a dense wireframe. Examples:

These are just some fast, cheap, geometry-based methods. There are other ways of doing this. Using textures is one, but has other drawbacks and issues. There's also another plugin that gets recommended: Rocketlasso's Mesh to Spline; I haven't tried it myself and it's ~$100.

Retro Computer

I made this computer in Cinema 4D from scratch, then i imported it in Adobe Substance Painter and send that to Adobe Stager. I used masks in Substance painter to create a rough-used look and add some stickers/decals. After modelling, texturing i send it to Stager to use the environment lights to make some renders. I also used Photoshop to edit the original render.
