Now that Chris is gone and his relationships with Marisol and Kim are over, Eddie is struggling to keep himself together and decides to stop dating while also trying to figure himself out after everything that happened.

All the while, Buck constantly checks in on him to make sure he's alright and even goes as far as to stay over at his place so that he doesn't wake up by himself. And now that Gerrard is captain and is making their shifts miserable, that becomes a common occurrence. And around the same time, Buck and Tommy are going through a rough patch because of him cancelling plans to check on Eddie and how Tommy wants Buck to act around Gerrard, which ultimately leads to them breaking up.

Then down the line, Eddie and Buck start to become closer than ever and Eddie comes to the conclusion that his relationships never worked out because he was trying to make a family with the wrong person when the whole time, he already had a family with the right person, which was Buck. At the same time, Buck starts to catch feelings for Eddie but is afraid to act on them partly out of fear and mainly because he doesn't want to take advantage of him when he's still missing Chris.

But eventually, Eddie just goes "fuck it" and finally kisses Buck, who has no qualms about kissing him back...

...and then, Chris walks through the door.

I finally got to go to WILD KRATTS LIVE!!!!!!!

Besides having a good (though short) conversation, I got to ask them "What their favorite show to work on was and they both mentioned Zaboomafoo with Martin saying because they got to know Jovian (the real life Zoboomafoo) and both enjoyed seeing how the animal guests would react with the puppet Zaboo. They also mentioned how they loved Be The Creature as they got to stay and learn about the specific animal for the episode. Also got to talk a bit of how their shows lead me into pursuing an animal related major which made them happy.

They also thought my "I survived the Wild Kratts Season 7 Hiatus" shirt was really funny.

Overall it was an amazing experience and I finally achieved one of my longest dreams!!!

I need someone to write a fic where instead of calling his grandparents Chris just locks himself in his room and posts a story time on TikTok that somehow blows up and eventually leads to Buddie canon. Like he does multiple parts explaining it too because his first video was just like “guys i just caught my dad making out with my dead mother what do i do??” and then he ends up finding out who Kim is and posts photos of her side by side with a photo of Shannon and people start going crazy over it. some people recognize Kim from her tv show and are like “wtf??”. And then people find out that Chris’ dad was one of the firefighters who got shot by the sniper and people go even more insane over that. and then Chris makes a video talking about Buck and now Chris has over 30 million followers on TikTok invested in his batshit crazy life. Carla finds his account early on but doesn’t mention anything to Buck or Eddie because she thinks it’s funny and also she’s a little upset by the whole Kim thing because wtf?? Anyways the whole thing gets found out when May shows everyone the videos. Eddie decides to address the whole thing by a video with Buck about it and posting it to Chris’ account but then people just start thirsting over them. So they make another video being like “please don’t make inappropriate comments on Chris’ page.” and then when Chris eventually gets his phone back he starts ranting about how his dad and Buck should just date already if they’re going to both try to parent him and then people start shipping them like crazy and making edits. Someone please write this for me, you don’t even have to credit me or anything just write it please.

Several Sentence Sunday 🥃

was feeling angsty today and apparently all i do these days is visit various WIPs.... here's one i started over the summer based on The Great Gatsby quote 'I wish I had done everything on earth with you'.

It was a Tuesday morning. Eddie was running late. He had spent the better part of the night thinking about his now empty house, wondering how Chris was settling in and fighting the urge to call or text every five minutes. Naturally that had meant he finally fell into a deep sleep just before his alarm went off. So, he snuck into the station, bleary-eyed and in desperate need of caffeine, hoping no one would notice. Well, maybe one person. One person who would already have a black coffee with a splash of half-and-half ready in his favorite mug.  That fantasy couldn’t have been further from the nightmare that awaited him. Buck’s locker was empty, there were no traces of him in Eddie’s locker either. The red and white name tag was removed from over his turnout cubby. All of it was just- gone. Vanished. Like Evan Buckley was never there. A goddamn ghost who haunted Eddie, even after he finally resurfaced at another station far from the 118. A phantom who stopped answering his calls or showing up for celebrations on the Grant-Nash patio.  “H-hey, Eds.”  But now here he is. A specter who has the audacity to show his face at Hen and Karen’s anniversary party and approach Eddie with a too familiar nickname.  “Buck,” Eddie replies as cordially as possible without turning around. He focuses his attention on the cocktail in his hand, condensation sweating down the sides. On the pink, white and orange streamers hung from the ceiling, joined together in criss crossing arcs. Not on the voice he would know anywhere, or the way he has to fight the urge to turn around and run. Whether it’s toward his former best friend or away, he’s not exactly sure.  “How are you?” Eddie’s body stiffens, his hand clenching around the plastic cup fighting to remain whole in his grasp. How are you???? Is Buck serious right now?  He takes a deep breath, making his shoulders rise and fall in a way that Buck can’t possibly not notice. A bitter laugh escapes, falling from his lips. “‘How are you’. That’s your opener?” Eddie holds up his drink in a mock cheers, not knowing or caring if Buck saw. “Good to know your charming personality is still intact.”

Enough time has passed to where I think we can openly admit how WK has gone through seasonal rot within its previous 2 seasons and how the hype of Season 7 along with the generally positive reception is a really green flag for the show's quality.

MAYBE the joke's on us and they go full fanfic mode and it's actually that NO ONE called them, they just randomly showed up with no notice at the least opportune moment and now Eddie has to try and manage the situation with Christopher while also dealing with his parents getting involved!!

This might sound crazy, but wouldn't it be something if Chris ended up being a catalyst for Buck and Eddie to have their respective realizations about themselves and just, everything?

Like Eddie's still dating Marisol unfortunately, Buck's still dating Natalia why god why, and Chris kinda begins to distance himself from both of them and it's making his parents concerned as all hell, especially Eddie. And it isn't until Chris ends up in the middle of a Eddie/Marisol and Buck/Natalia double date and storms off that Eddie and Buck can't take it anymore and go ask Chris what's been going on. And Chris just goes off on both of them:

"Before, it always used to be just the three of us! But now, we're barely together anymore and if it's not because of work, it's because of them! Why can't it just be us?"

And it isn't until everything has calmed down, the girls are gone, and Buck and Eddie are in their respective rooms ready to crash that they just stop and think:

"Why can't it just be us?"

And that's when Buck FINALLY recognizes the hamster wheel he's been on and puts a full stop to it by dumping Natalia and Eddie realizes that he's just not into Marisol and breaks things off.

After that, they spend the rest of the season just focusing on themselves, upgrading the Buckley-Diaz family and going through their respective bi/queer awakenings before the end of the season, where either Buck is the one pining or there's mutual pining from both Buck and Eddie.

Ok I may be over analyzing this (I most definitely am) but I think the whole “It’s locked, you got a key?” “We don’t need a key. We’re firefighters.” and then Eddie kicking in the door has to be a metaphor for something bigger right? Like Buck and Tommy’s whole relationship is what got Buck to “unlock” this new side of himself (his bisexuality) and Tommy took a step back to wait for Buck to “be ready” with himself. Overall, their whole relationship started out a bit hesitant and gentle (not really sure how else to put it).

But I think Eddie is just gonna get smacked in the face with his feelings somehow, or somethings going to happen to Eddie and Buck is gonna get smacked in the face with his feelings. Either way, I think that while Buck and Tommy’s relationship arc is more sort of a nonchalant going slow type of thing, something dramatic is gonna kick in that door that leads to Buddie and I think it’s gonna be something that happens to Eddie. Maybe I’m crazy though I guess I just have to wait until it happens.
