Seeing comments on Facebook like “Buck was always a ladies man” or “he’s never shown any interest in guys before” is why this story arc is so important.
Bisexual people exist and so often get dismissed or told to pick a side or that they just can’t commit to being gay or some other shit.
Just because you show a preference to one gender doesn’t mean you can’t be attracted to another.
And you don’t have to have your sexuality figured out at a certain age! It’s fluid! It changes! You could not discover something about yourself until you are away from toxic noise and finally are in a place where you feel safe.
I’m just .. I’m so thankful for Oliver and Tim and how they’re wanting to tell this story.
Especially Oliver.
He loves Buck so much and he sees the bi community and he wants to give them the best representation he can.
*sighs*
just yeah .. this story arc is important and Oliver is cradling it so gently in his hands because he knows how precious it is
How's he feeling? I don't know. I haven't really talked to him. Like at all? Well, I'm guessing he doesn't want to hear from me. I'm sure that's not true. I'm sure it is. I'm the one that did this to him. It was an accident on a basketball court. It happens. He knows that you didn’t do it on purpose.
So tonight is the 'What's your fantasy?' and we have confirmed people fucking on the fire truck. A fantasy fair that I would pay so much to go to omg.
And possibly Buck babysitting Jee and fantasizing about being a dad?
And possibly Eddie getting Chris ready for his dance and fantasizing about his boy growing up and being an adult? Honestly I'm more interested in Eddie this episode so like. Is he going to dream about what kind of life he hopes Chris will have? Will Carla tell him to follow his heart again (which at this point I'm assuming means doing things for himself and not being the self sacrificing dad). And will we see Eddie dreaming about what he thinks his life will be like?
Oooo another bad dream where he's afraid he'll be old and alone when Chris grows up and leaves? Or will he be happy with that?
I'm not going to lie - I kind of want to see Eddie dating (men give me queer Eddie) or locked in as happily single. But more so bi or gay Eddie for reasons. . .
me pre 7x04: yeah idrc about tommy as a love interest.
911 writers: okay but what if he was soft and kind and gentle? what if buck looks like he’s just found god when they kiss? what if he doesn’t even flinch when buck stumbles over his words because this is all new and he won’t hold that against him?
Oh and he’s also somehow so huge he makes oliver “built like a brick shithouse” stark look small by comparison? what will you do then?
Remember how I made the big framing in buddie conversations meta and then another one when the gym stills came out that comes down to how conversations about Buck, Buck is sitting down.
About Eddie, both of them are sitting down.
About Chris, they are sitting on the same surface
But when they are on the same level and standing up, the conversation tends to be about their relationship with each other.
I know it looks pretty obvious that this is them talking about their relationship, but following patterns on the show, this is them talking about their relationship.
And I'm also interested in what camera angles we are going to get on this scene, because the tsunami for instance they are facing each other but they make a point that for parts of the scene we can see both of their faces, not just them speaking and reacting to each other like in the grocery store for example. I am so curious.
to be honest i didn't think a date could get any more embarrassing than buck almost dying via bread but "i'm an ally!" blows that clear out of the water, i think.
Ok but Athena calling Hen to rant about the case and Bobby texting Chim knowing he would be right beside her was the absolute best and funniest possible way for the writers to be like "for those of you who don't know them, here are the original four and their individual bonds"
something id really like to talk about is christopher's role in this episode. like we knew there was going to be jealousy about eddie and tommy but ive been wondering since the synopsis dropped if there was going to be any mention of christopher. and not only was there mention, but there was so much and it was so rich? buck worrying about tommy meeting chris and being replaced in that aspect of the diaz's life, "i don't think you should lie just to ingratiate yourself with a child", christopher's star wars rankings that buck clearly knows by heart, eddie asking buck to watch chris on karoake trivia wednesday, tommy bringing chris up in their conversation and making it clear that buck could never disappear from the diaz's lives in any way because of how much chris loves him and how obvious that is even to a relative outsider. like yes i'm obviously incredibly focused on bi buck and so fucking emotional about that. but the fact that they made christopher such a big deal in such a big deal of an episode for buck speaks volumes. and i'm just so fucking grateful to the writers for that because it would have been so easy to leave that out to fit more in.
