Transitus but it’s A Million Ways To Die In The West quotes that live in my head absolutely rent free and there’s also a Plan Nine reference in there somewhere.
…please watch this movie it’s such good satire of old Westerns and is set within like a two-year window of Transitus and is probably my favorite historical film-

Day 21
August 21
That is our Mayor, he is dead. He has been lying there dead for three days, no one has done a thing. Not moved him, not looked into his death, not even replaced him with a temporary appointee. For the last three days, the highest ranking official in our town, has been a dead guy.

Matt and Trey are better show writers than Seth McFarland 🥰
Oh wow, you really just said that.
In what way? What defines a “better” show writer? Seth hasn’t even written Family Guy in a long time as he’s been too busy working on Ted (which is hilarious by the way) and The Orville (which is better than modern Star Trek). All Trey and Matt have right now is South Park. Sure, they’ve made more movies and more awards and even have a broadway, but really? Seth’s style has much different passion and weight to his work that it doesn’t even compare.
He’s also a much better singer and that’s why he’s able to land in movies like Sing.
Oh and by the way it’s MacFarlane not MacFarland.

A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014)
A sheep farmer has to step up when he’s challenged to a gunfight, assisted by a strange woman whose past is catching up to her.
Several basic tropes from the Western genre are meshed together, or at least referenced, to make a parody of the genre. One dominant message is that history has created a fabricated rosy version of North American history and exposes the miriade ways in which life was difficult or downright impossible for some.
For much of the time the comedy was very variable. A fair few of the jokes landed well enough but several were based on situations so sudden or out-of-place that they struck more as odd than amusing. The variety of kills in particular was more incidental than something so vital to the story that it needed to be the title.
There were a few cameos from famous recognisable actors, although a few of them were very brief and had little or no bearing on the narrative. The hallucination scene was amusing and the effects were suitably surreal without having to actually look real. The ending was roughly satisfying and the solution not too extraneous since it had been set up subtlely.
The acting was decent but had a very American effects in that few of the cast could play it straight due to how unreal the circumstances were. Some of the jokes were deliberately risky, a few landing only just the right side of poking fun of racists instead of being racist but a couple near the end didn’t even make it as jokes and seemed in poor taste.
4/10 -It’s below average, but only just!-
-The band at the bad was called “The James Gang” a references to the outlaw group from the West lead by Jesse James.
-The sheep with long legs are a reference to the painting “The Temptation of St. Anthony” by Salvador Dali.
-Despite the title, the body count is only 15.
