familiar / haitani rindou
Haitani Rindou turns 32, gets married, and he silently wonders why people are so nice to him now.
the old retired ladies promoting milk powders and selling fresh fruits in the grocery store rushes up to him at any chance they get. one time when browsing for milk formulas one of them had tapped him on the shoulder, pointed at a brand she was not promoting for but thought was amazing when her own grandchild had tried it, and then placed a bunch of other stuff in his cart that she thinks his wife would need. an example would be containers of freshly cut mixed fruits that her colleague had just prepared. you remember him telling you that her tone was a lot more different than the average grocery store promoter trying to sell you a product ー it was almost as if she was talking to her own son.
when shopping for flowers just like he does every Sunday suddenly the part-timer who is usually silent, does her job and only responds to customers' needs had stepped up to him and pointed out a few selections that she believes are lovely for expecting parents. she was even smiling when doing so. and you remember he came home to you that day with two bouquets of fresh flowers ー chrysanthemum and baby's breath ー one in each hand.
today when taking you out for dinner in the local family-owned restaurant the daughter had served you a warm bowl of beef bone soup. neither of you had ordered it for yourselves, and you were about to tell her that, but her mother speaks before you can. "drink it, love. the soup is good for you." she yells a little from where she sits at the cashier with a grin. when Rindou stands to pay after finishing up her husband then refuses to take your bill for the night. "it's okay, son. dinner's on the house this time." he pats his shoulder and pushes you both out the door. "take care, you two. the next time you come i'll cook tofu for you, alright?" it was directed to you and you'd laughed, a little embarrassed but feeling warm and fuzzy nonetheless.
and now you are listening to your own husband ramble on and on about his new mysteries while he massages your feet on the couch.
"i seriously don't get it. i've been going to these places for years now and they were never this nice to us. i mean, they are nice, but never this nice, you know? it's the first time we've ever gotten a free meal from Kobayashi's."
we. us.
you brush his hair back, admiring the light wrinkles that have started to form on his skin. "that's exactly it, don't you think?" you bring it up and he hums in confusion.
"perhaps the reason why they've been so nice lately is exactly because you've been going to these places for years now. they know you."
"huh?"
"if you think about it, they've watched you go from an ordinary man to a husband, then a father. watched you bring a girl they've never seen before to these places more often and suddenly we go together all the time, you have a ring on your finger and i am pregnant. perhaps it is why. a sense of familiarity, maybe?"
Rindou looks at you as if you are love and warmth and everything pink and red and blue and purple and-
you are right, actually. you'd went from a girl he met at a bar to becoming the love of his life, the woman who is now carrying the love you both share. and the ladies at the grocery store, the Kobayashi's, the part timer who's been around even after graduating university years ago? they've all watched him grow.
when Rindou was 17 and had gotten ambushed by a rival gang alone, it was madam Kobayashi who'd ushered him into their store way past the last call and offered to cook him a nice meal, had her medical student son patch him up, her husband to chase away the remaining guys who were waiting for Rindou to come back out. her daughter had been about Rindou's age then, hiding behind the cashier and watching as he ate in silence with a cut to his lip, another on his eyebrow. (to this day still no one except for you, her, and him, knows that the reason he'd gotten ambushed that day was because he'd stood up for miss Kobayashi when she was getting bullied by one of the delinquents. she still thanks him for what he'd done whenever you both finish up your meal and get ready to leave.) Rindou was 17 when he'd first discovered what it was like to care for people; to be a human before anything else.
the two ladies from the grocery store wasn't yet retired and working this job back then. the promoter lady used to be the janitor who was working in the office building of his first job. she'd watched him gone through periods of unknowing, confusion, stress, to become a solid man of status today. the lady who is selling fruits used to work as a professional tutor and had been the one to tutor Rindou and his brother on Mathematics. although she is mute and can't respond in words when her students have confusing questions to ask, the brothers still thought of her as a good teacher because of the way she taught, which is why they'd stuck around and refused to switch teachers despite their parents' disapproval. because she is mute, she can only count on her colleague to dump containers of freshly cut fruits into his cart while motioning for her to tell him things that she actually wants to say to him whenever he visits the store.
the part timer at the florist is a lot younger than he is, but she have been working there for a very long time. watched him when he was still an inexperienced bachelor pacing around the store wondering which flower would be good on a first date to buying the same flowers every Sunday because you'd liked the lilies that she recommended.
it'd be heartwarming for anyone to see the boy you watch grow around love, into love, finding love, to marrying her and becoming a father.
"...yeah. maybe."

LITTLE SNOWFLAKES
sebastian vettel x wife! reader x ( platonic! ) oc daughters
♡ how valerie and valentine vettel / little snowflakes came to be!
୨୧ this can kind of be any era but i think it works best with retired sebastian <3
♡ view my formula 1 masterlist here
reading music recommendations: i found a way by first aid kit - lisztomania by phoenix - blue romance by black honey
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
♡ when you guys found out you were having twins… oh boy… that day was a day to be remembered
୨୧ the second the nurse performing the scan said “ oh… hold on a second, looks like you’ll be needing two cribs ” with a soft chuckle, the room went so quiet you could hear a pin drop
♡ but then sebastian spoke…
“ yep… yeah, i guess we will, huh? jesus christ! two babies… that’s… oh, that’s so exciting ” ( it took a couple seconds for it to really click in his head before a huge, goofy smile spread across his face and he started laughing )
୨୧ when you guys get home, he’s straight to his computer, looking up online stores to buy things for twin babies
“ oh! look here liebling, a twin pram! we’ll probably need that, hm? ” ( okay, now it’s really really beginning to click in his head that he’s getting not one but two babies and he couldn’t be more excited )
♡ he goes on quite a shopping spree that afternoon, ordering things like another crib, cute matching twin plushies and WAY more bottles…
୨୧ your babies arrived on valentine’s day!
♡ the birth went fine! except for the fact you had to push out TWO babies…
୨୧ you had a moment filled with nothing but hatred for sebastian for putting two babies inside of you, cussing him out all while he holds your hand
♡ he gave a slightly freaked out look towards one of the nurses who simply told him it was “ totally normal ” and you didn’t mean what you were saying
୨୧ so he doesn’t say anything, just keeps brushing your hair back from your face, cheering you on and praising you for how much progress your making <3
♡ it just felt right to name one of your babies valentine… your greatest gifts made from love arriving on the day of love and the second would be called valerie
୨୧ sebastian is a natural at cradling both of them at the same time almost immediately, you swear just about everything comes naturally to him!
♡ he nicknames them his little snowflakes because whilst from afar snowflakes may look identical, when you really look at them, they’re actually always unique and it’s the same for his babies! his girls may look the same but they’re their own person, they’re both so unique and special in their own different ways <3
୨୧ since they sleep in the same room, when one of them wakes up crying, so does the other…
♡ sebastian is always the first to jump out of bed, telling you to go back to sleep, claiming you need it more than him since you just went through the birth and hey, you’re not going to fight him on that
୨୧ but often times, you do stay awake, waiting for him to come back to bed, more often that not with both of his little snowflakes cuddled in his arms
♡ he slips back into bed next to you, being extra careful with the twins before gesturing for you to cuddle up into his side
“ they’re so perfect, liebling… thank you, thank you for giving me such perfect girls ” ( his voice sounds slightly choked up and before long, you see small tears dripping down his cheeks, you spend the rest of the night cuddled up together, whispering words of love towards your husband and your babies as he falls into a deep sleep )
୨୧ sebastian LOVES teaching his little snowflakes all about animals and bugs, making sure they know how important it is to take care of their planet
♡ because of this, valerie and valentine don’t really want a lot of toys and similar things when they’re children! they’re incredibly aware and smart for their age which is something you both take a huge amount of pride in
୨୧ the only thing his snowflakes really want is those monthly subscription wildlife magazines! y’know the ones that come with a plushie and other little knick knacks like plastic bug containers?
♡ sebastian had already signed them up for it when they were old enough to read a lot and showed an interest in wildlife like he did and they’ve become OBSESSED with receiving them every month <3
୨୧ he has to hold back a huge smile everytime one of the twins asks him when the end of the month is, so happy that his little snowflakes care about the planet as much as he does
♡ the twins LOVE bugs and always try to bring them into the house, yelling for their papa to come and see what they’ve caught this time
୨୧ it can be slightly daunting for you to see them walk through the back door, one of them holding a bug in hand, knowing they’ll probably drop it in the house and it’ll be weeks before you find it…
♡ which is why when sebastian hears them yelling, he’s speed walking towards them and gently steering them right back outside with a hand on each of their backs, throwing a wink your way as he walks out the door
“ what’ve you got there my little snowflakes? come, outside, show me outside on the grass ” ( you let out the most relieved sigh, thankful you won’t be moving your couch to try and find some bug )
୨୧ the twins absolutely love going on bike rides with sebastian too, it’s one of their daddy daughter activities, leaving you once a week for around an hour or two to have some me time
♡ when they get home, they’re talking your ear off about EVERYTHING they saw, no matter how mundane it may seem, sebastian’s little snowflakes find beauty in everything around them
୨୧ sebastian built a tree house for the twins in your backyard!
♡ not only did he build a treehouse, he decked it out inside with SO many books about bugs and wildlife and shelves for them to put their little bug containers on…
୨୧ safe to say they spend more time in the treehouse than they do your actual house! it’s hard for you guys to get them out of there, even just for lunch and dinner
“ will you come down from there, my little snowflakes? please? your lunch is ready… okay, well you know, i just found this really cool spider and i wanted to show you guys before lunch but i guess you’re not interested- ” ( they come barrelling out so fast sebastian yells at them to “ please be careful ” and extends his arms, fully prepared to catch them if they fall )
♡ you guys take the twins out for ice cream a lot! it’s one of their favourite sweet treats
୨୧ which is probably because you ate it a LOT whilst pregnant with them…
♡ sebastian goes in to order with the girls whilst you sit at one of the tables outside, watching them through the glass windows of the store with a soft smile on your face
୨୧ you chuckle as you see sebastian have to hold valerie up on his feet so that she can see the flavours, she’s always been the smallest of the twins which makes him especially soft with her
♡ when he comes out, he gives you a cone of your favourite ice cream with two chocolate flakes stuck in it, you didn’t think he forgot your favourite did you?
୨୧ sebastian makes them tuck a napkin in their shirt, no matter how embarrassing they think it is, he doesn’t want you having extra laundry that could’ve been prevented
♡ they already get so many clothes dirty from sitting on mud in the garden, you should really get around to buying them more overalls!
୨୧ as you all sit in the sun, eating your ice creams ( some faster than others ) sebastian can’t help but admire his little family! his gorgeous wife and his perfect little snowflakes
♡ oh, how lucky he feels…

[ AUTHOR'S NOTE]: Hiiiii, it took me a bit longer to write this new chapter cuz i was super busy. Im rlly excited to post this. Thank u guys for the activity on my last post, luv u all!!
!english is not my first language so I apologize if there are any mistakes!
You were currently sitting at some cheap airport café, staring on a plain white wall. You took a sip of your americano as you were examining the cracks on the wall in front of you – it reminded you of your heart now. Back then, when the airport was built, the walls were all new and without any cracks -just like your heart when you were young-. But after so many years the walls started to crack because of how much they went trough -just like your heart now-.
---‐----------------------‐---------------------------------------♡----------‐-----‐-------------------------------------------------
You took another sip of your ice americano and the cold liquid going down your throat woke you up from your 10 minutes-long zoning out session. You were overthinking again. You didn't know if this was a good idea because you wanted to forget about past three weeks and start a new life, but at the same time you were scared that all the good memories with your parents will stay in France, left behind.
You took your purse and went to the plane. You didn't even have a backpack because you didn't take any makeup or skin care with you on the plane - you were sick of everything, you didn't even have the energy to take care of yourself. But it wasn't like you cared anyways, you were glad that you were still alive.
You sat down into your seat and slept through the whole flight.
Flashback
"Mom?...Dad?...", you shouted from the front door as it seemed like nobody was home. You took off your shoes and went further in the apartment but nobody was there. You still lived with your parents because they were like best friends to you. You didn't have any other friends besides your mom and dad, you felt safe and comfortable with them.
"Mom? I'm home...", you shouted once again but still no response. It was weird because it was already 9PM - you just came back from your dance practice - and they still weren't home when they usually come back home from work around 6PM.
You went to the living room, with an uneasy feeling, you grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. You liked to do that when you were home alone because you didn't like silence so that there was always same noise in the background. You went to the kitchen to make yourself something to eat while listening to the TV.
"Welcome back after a short break. You can therefore see the collision of a car with a bus from the live broadcast. A few minutes ago, an ambulance came to the place where the accident happened too, but the older couple didnt survive the brutal crash by the bus. Based on the shopping bags in the trunk of the car, we think that the couple was going back from the store only few blocks away from here when the bus hit them from the side and the cap flipped on its roof. The driver brake his ligaments and his wife didn't survive serious head injuries...".
It caught your attention and you went back to the living room. You looked at the TV and that was the moment your heart broke into million ting pieces no one will ever be able to stick together again - or at least you thought.
' No... It can't be... It's not...‘, you thought in your head. The car that was flipped on its roof was your dads car. You quickly ran out without any shoes or hoodie on to go check your dads garage. There was no car, that means your parents went somewhere. You couldn’t believe it was them so you ran to the place where the accident happened only a couple of minutes ago.
You saw your dads car flipped on its roof in the middle of the road. There were plenty of people around watching and recording the whole situation, but you were still searching for the two specific people until... You saw them lying on the side of the road as two policemen were just covering then with white sheets.
You still couldn’t believe. They were gone... for good. You didn't have anyone now. The people you loved the most are really not here anymore?.....
You ran to the two motionless bodies on the side of the road and ineeded down beside them as you broke down into tears. You took your moms hand while praying that this is all just a stupid nightmare and you will wake up soon. But that never happened. As one of the policemen was trying to tale you away from there you took your moms ring off of her finger and put it into your pocket - it was her engagement ring your dad gave her.
You sat down in the grass and watched the whole situation from afar still tasting the salty tears on your lips. You didn't actually feel that you were crying, you didn't feel anything at all - you felt numb, you felt like everything died inside of you. THAT is the only thing you felt.
"Ma'am... Wake up...", you suddenly heard from afar. You looked around trying to find the lady who called you.
End of flashback
You woke up breathing heavily, tears streaming down your face like waterfalls. You had another nightmare. You wiped your tears trying to calm down. You see them everytime you try to sleep - that's the reason why you didn't sleep at all for the past three weeks, you're tired. Really tired - of your life.
You got off of the plane and waited for your suitcase to arrive. Few minutes later you were already sitting in a taxi on your way to your new apartment. You paid the driver for the ride and got out of the car. You took your suitcase and looked at the huge modern-looking building in front of you - your new life.

Miguel Rivera becomes the first Rivera to turn down tequila, the fifteen-year-old knocking the offered shot out of his father's hand and onto the ground.
He looked horrified at the drink, and the adults crowded around him asked him what was wrong.
So he tells them of the Día de los Muertos he'd gone missing and where he had actually gone. Of course, at first, none of them want to believe his tale as he talks, hands waving as he describes the day from start to end, but the dread starts sinking in part way through.
It explained why Miguel never went on the roof again after returning, the teen trembling now when asked to climb a ladder or somewhere high. How he had come back after his disappearance to sing a song to Mamá Coco that only she and her papá had ever sung together, despite not knowing a single thing about the man. It had been three days after that Miguel was found throwing his de la Cruz merchandise into the firepit the family had, the twelve-year-old refusing to speak as he tore posters and muttered curses his abuelita boxed the back of his head for. Any mention of the man as the family slowly came to grips with the infamous music ban finally being lifted would instantly sour his mood, going so far as to throw a record Abel found secondhand into the trash with a look of utter hatred. It also explained that when Miguel wasn't in school, he was diving headfirst into research, the proof Mamá Coco had saved instantly, sparking interest from historical researchers worldwide. It didn't take long for the truth of de la Cruz's theft to become public, and while the world raged, Miguel spent time with historians who flew out to Santa Cecilia going over all inn records from 1921 following the letters Héctor had sent.
Miguel cried when he finally found the last time H. Rivera was recorded checking into one, his name never again reappearing alongside E. de la Cruz after he left Mexico City in the dead of night.
Luisa embraces her son when she remembers the day officials had finally discovered Héctor's body in a hastily dug grave nearly an hour from the city, her son never leaving the coffin his bisabuelo's body had arrived in until it had been buried beside his wife. To have actually met the man and had come so close to losing him, the way Miguel had been a silent guardian until he was gently guided home, made too much sense.
They all stop breathing when a tearful Miguel recounts precisely how Héctor had been murdered, eyeing the tequila bottle with a shiver.
I'm scared to drink it.
The local liquor store where the Rivera's shopped never placed another order for tequila again.
---
Héctor was an easygoing guy. After living for so long, he took most things on the chin and smiled around the pain.
As long as it didn't revolve around Ernesto or...tequila.
For a long time, Héctor never understood why touching or drinking made him feel uneasy. It flowed like most other drinks in Shantytown, but he always hesitated when reaching for a bottle, or accepting an offered glass. They had all eventually stopped asking about the flinch he seemed to always be surprised by, and while he didn't entirely avoid it, Héctor turned to other drinks.
The fog in his mind of his death is finally cleared, and Héctor realizes why tequila has never satisfied him.
Now, here he sits among his familia, laughing about something as a glass is placed in his hand, and Héctor takes a sip before registering the smell of the tequila.
A large hand is on his back as his stomach twinges in pain, a voice that should have been soothing in his ear as he lets go of his guitar case, everything going cold as he collapses onto the dusty street
Perhaps it was that chorizo my friend
Héctor doesn't realize he's hyperventilating until gentle hands take hold of his skull, Imelda's lips moving but words unheard over the pounding in his ears. The glass he'd been holding had been crushed, and once he realized that damn liquid was all over his hand, Héctor shrieked and jerked back and onto the floor. It takes both Imelda and Rosita to keep Héctor in one piece, the matriarch of the family just talking to her husband in the softest voice they'd ever heard from her as Héctor tried to undo himself and run...somewhere. Eventually, she gets through to him, gently caressing the side of his skull as Héctor clings to her, eyeing the bottle of tequila on the table with wide eyes as his family crowds around him in concern. It takes him nearly an hour to begin his tale, his voice giving out far too many times for Héctor's liking, but he tells them of a night like any other at the start. Of a long day performing, leaving both himself and Ernesto tired but relatively happy, until Héctor had seen a photo of his family and felt the resolve that had wavered for months finally solidified.
I'm going home Ernesto! Hate me if you want, but my mind is made up!
Oh I could never hate you. If you must go then I'm...I'm sending you off with a toast!
¡Salud!
Of how he'd missed his friend's hatred until it was far too late, dropping to his knees as his body burned....and he awoke dead in a land that became his prison.
He had just wanted to go home.
Julio was the first Rivera to move once the poor man had finally gone silent, adjusting his hat before grabbing the tequila bottle on the table and leaving the room. For a few minutes, all the family could hear was the clinking of glass being set into something and faint curses as Julio went through what seemed to be every room in the entire Rivera household. Once satisfied, Julio returned, kneeling beside his father-in-law with a slight nod, able to see the taller man visibly relax when it dawned on him what he'd done.
The crate full of tequila was picked up by Victoria once Héctor had been coaxed to bed by Imelda, making sure the liquid would find its way to her abuelo's other family in Shantytown, as it would go to waste otherwise.
---
Dear Papá Héctor,
I hope you're having a great Día de los Muertos, I cooked everything on the ofrenda myself this year :D (sorry if it's burnt D:) to give Abulieta a break :)
I wrote this letter for you specifically because - I told them. Papá wanted me to try tequila, but I couldn't do it, and everyone wanted to know why, so I told them. From start to finish, though, I may have left out the part where I got thrown into the cenote and off the tower.
I promise to tell them someday, but it can wait <:)
Abuelita wanted me to say she's sorry for offering you tequila the past three years, and that when she eventually joins you, that she's going to smack a certain someone with her chancla. I told her Mamá Imelda beat her to it, but Abuelita said she didn't care, and you'll see how scary she can be :P
We are still trying to figure out another drink to leave you because, apparently, guitar picks aren't a suitable replacement :(
Te quiero Papá Héctor, make sure you do your best gritto for me!
Your bisnieto, Miguel <3

Whumptober 2023 No. 18 - Blindfold/Tortured For Information
Scogan Bingo challenge Impulse Shopping
"Little dark for sunglasses in here, ain't it?"
A soundless sigh on his lips, Scott forced himself to ignore the comment from somewhere down the shopping aisle, not granting whoever was trying to ruin his day as much as a side glance. He wasn’t usually the type to silently put up with bigotry; that wasn’t in his job description. But with the general public mood still tense even months after Alkali Lake, he'd arduously had to learn how to pick his battles lately. Caution was no longer optional if the X-Men wanted to have even a shot at maintaining the shaky world peace left. One of his regular killer headaches that had led him into this run-down booze shop in the first place didn’t exactly boost his motivation to teach some drunk tolerance and mutual understanding this fine Monday night.
"Hey, mutie! I asked you something!" To Scott's growing annoyance, the – judging by a large shadow moving closer – quite tall and heavy stranger wasn’t clever enough to take the hint. The guy came stomping ever closer, audibly only even more pissed off now than just about having to share one space with one of the shunned species. Scott casually continuing to study the label of the whiskey bottle in his hand – written too small and in too low contrast for his always-limited vision, thanks to the bad lighting in here – instead of giving the dude his so-badly craved attention was obviously not part of the plan.
With how physically unfit but broad the guy was though, as Scott could make out from the corner of his eyes by now, and the other end of that aisle blocked by a huge champagne pyramid, there was no way to elegantly wriggle his way out of an unloved confrontation if necessary. Next time he shouldn’t bother with the next best beverage store on the way for a stupid can of soda but just choke down his migraine pills dry, he noted dully, slipping the damn bottle in his shopping basket without giving it another glance. He wasn’t an expert on the stuff anyway; that was the specialty of the guy the thing was for. A spontaneous little gift for the weekend, for the anniversary coming up of that one damn day up there by Stryker's facility … Of the night that Logan, for some reason neither of them could still quite grasp, had ended up in Scott's bed. And then, just as curiously, never really left it again. Scott wasn’t anywhere near done, analyzing this thing between the two of them yet, their motivations, dynamics, where they were going. There was no hurry about that, with what had probably saved him from an inevitable fall after Jean's death feeling so good, so right. Logan and he were neither much into contemplating such things nor into romantics, but Scott wasn’t about to let some primitive asshole stop him from thanking his lover for catching Scott at his lowest moment. Not to mention, such a ridiculously overpriced and therefore hopefully at least good drink would be perfect to share on a Saturday night while they'd toast to the woman they'd both lost a year ago, before fucking each other senseless once more. Time for a discreet exit. "This is not going to go the way you think." He calmly turned to the guy who'd stopped just a few feet from him with his shoulders thrust forward like a bull ready to attack, red in his face with growing anger. "So why don’t you just move out of the way and go home to your wife and kids instead of spending the night on the E.R.?"
"You hear that, Gus?" the stranger yelled at the clerk in the distance, only even more outraged. "Mutie scum here trying to threaten us respectable, hard-working folk. When did you start allowing that kind of trash in your joint?" When Scott still didn’t give the dude the satisfaction of even batting a lid, only demonstratively gesturing for the man to step aside, he dared to take another step closer, baring his rotting teeth at Scott along with a whole cloud of stale alcohol probably digested in the shop's little bar over there in the course of the last few hours. "We don't want the likes of you around here."
"Lucky coincidence. I was just leaving," Scott replied tonelessly, not lowering his jaw even for one second as he approached the bastard on his part, just leaving the shopping cart right where it was standing on the ground. As Gus over there behind his counter didn’t deign it necessary to get involved in something as neglectable as a public rights violation on his premises, Scott was very happy to spend a couple of hundred dollars somewhere else. It was nothing he hadn’t known from the age of 12 on, but the never-ceasing hurt added to the one already behind his forehead ever since the news of yet another Registration Act on the table in the Senate had broken this morning. Sometimes you should listen to that inner voice when it told you to stay the fuck at home, no matter how badly Scott's favorite bike had needed a couple of spare parts from the garage on the other side of the street. If there was one thing he really didn’t need right now was another unjustified entry on his already considerable police record that Charles would have to manipulate out of the system afterwards. Scott's straight posture and unmoving mimic together with his usual advantage of a towering height seemed to do the trick though.
The stranger unexpectedly turned aside, backing away with a startle, a disgusted grimace into the crushed ice rack behind him so that Scott could get past him without them having to touch and without the poor guy possibly catching all these pesky little mutant viruses by accident. Asshole had a couple of insults more for Scott as he was just left standing there, of course, his squeaky voice breaking from the sheer wrath at being forced to roll over so easily. But at least the stranger made no move to invade Scott's space uninvited, which Scott closely monitored in the shadows and reflections of the shelves and cheap plastic wall paneling, and none to possibly grab anything to attack him from behind either. Only a toothless vulture, like so many of these people.
That was at least what Scott thought until he reached the end of the aisle, only a couple of feet left to cover to the exit, and suddenly the shop's bouncer was in his way, a guy almost as tall as him with a couple of gang tattoos on the side of his neck that Scott should have paid closer attention to upon entering as he noticed far too late. The man had already had a disparaging glance for him earlier and had obviously been only waiting for a chance to teach certain unwanted customers a lesson. "Gus says there's some genetic lowlife in his shop trying to leave without paying." A slow grin spreading on his lips, security guy reached for the baton on his belt.
No more time or room for a smooth escape. Scott took only half a second for a hectic emergency signal on his wristwatch before throwing himself into a high flip across the bargain bin to his left. A clumsy jump because of the limited space in a shitty angle but he hadn’t been training field acrobatics in Charles' gym for half his life for nothing. Two six-packs of cheap beer shattered on the ground when he grazed them with his knee, and he earned himself a small cut on his wrist mid-air from one of the sharp-edged bin racks. But by the time he landed, he'd switched his glasses with the VISOR from his jacket pocket and was pissed enough at this point himself to blast his way out of this damn shop if he had to, another entry on his file be damned. And that was when Scott realized, bouncer guy had brought two of his friends, just as tall, leather-clad, bearded, and also too drunk for this time of the day, approaching Scott from two sides of that neighboring aisle before he could decide for the easiest route to the door. In the dim light, he suddenly saw something long and sharp being thrown right at him, far too close to his neck for his taste. Dodging that unexpected new threat meant stepping right into the stinking mess of fluid and shards on the ground which offed his balance, for a second only that he had to shift his weight, but that was enough for bouncer dude who had followed him, surprisingly quick and flexible. The blow was impossible to get away from in time, with no give between those damn bottle racks and two more hostiles with switchblades only two steps away. A harsh punch of hard rubber to his already bleeding temple and his fingertips, where they were just about to turn the wheel of his VISOR … More of blood-red flaring behind his eyes as something in his head and on the back of his hand felt like it was gonna explode … Then he knew nothing.
*****
It couldn’t have been too long. When he came around, the shallow cut on the side of his head was still trickling a harmless stream down the side of his face, barely soaking the thick dark cloth yet that his captors had wrapped around the upper half of his head. Scott's other senses immediately kicked in, a dozen times amplified as he'd had to get used to it early in his life, his instincts taking over, forcing his muscles into stillness to not reveal himself prematurely. Something made harder by the painful tug on his shoulders and wrists from where he must have been hanging from some mount high above him for a couple of minutes. No serious tendon damage to speak of yet which was the good news. Less than half an hour of unconsciousness then. Which, depending on how long the others would need to get here, was the bad news. Scott forced himself to breathe through the unsettling thought and allow the slightest twitch of a cramp in his right shoulder, the sharp flash of pain adrenaline in his veins clearing the last of dizziness from his head. He'd gotten his stupid ass into this situation, he couldn’t rely on support now to get out of it. That these bastards would rob him of his main defense the moment he was out, had had to been expected. Nothing he hadn’t handled before. Focus. The air was no longer stale from seldom ventilated premises, filled with high-proof bottles, but infused with the sickeningly sweet, unhealthy fragrance of mold instead. Sweat was tickling his skin, seeping away in that damn blindfold. So the cellar was a good bet. That joint had no back door, and these guys wouldn’t have risked dragging his ass out the front door, whatever they had planned. Buildings in this part of town were all but crumbling under their age and the regular catastrophes of the supernatural haunting New York, so sound-proof walls were highly unlikely at least. Scott couldn’t just shoot his way out of this uncontrolled if he didn’t want to risk civilian casualties and that whole damn house coming down on him but the moment someone would come to spend some quality time with their prisoner, opening whatever door connected this improvised cell with the shop, a clear, loud shout could possibly alert the right people to what was going on down here. A few maybes too many in that plan, but in combination with what was only a lame excuse of a bondage rope around his wrists that would last less than half a minute if he put his back into it … Scott had faced worse odds. The reliable counter in his head let him know, it had been almost two minutes, and his sharpened hearing still hadn’t picked up on anything in his immediate surroundings but the low hum of some radiator and occasional whistling in bad piping somewhere above him. So he might as well start and try to increase those chances while he was unwatched. Aligning his swollen wrists in a better angle, he slipped two fingertips around the first couple of loops on the opposite side in a routine movement, grimacing just slightly when a twinge from that baton hit earlier went through his knuckles that promised a brace for a day or two. Nothing he couldn’t ignore but …
It was only the smallest gust of air from a rapid movement nearby, the almost inaudible creaking of a floorboard, that revealed, Scott's enemies that day weren’t half as incompetent as he'd estimated in his arrogance so far. A miscalculation turning into regret by the seemingly harmless touch of something small and cool against the side of his left biceps …
And then Scott suddenly heard the hoarse sound of his own scream echo from those concrete walls around him as a couple of thousand volts flowed through his cells, leaving his restrained body to rear against its bonds, new agony jolting through already overstretched muscles. He tasted blood from where he'd bitten the inside of his mouth, and for a moment feared he would black out right again. But at least his shoulders hadn’t popped from their sockets yet. Yet.
"Want another of those, mutie? Or you gonna be a good little boy now?" It was indeed the clerk, the shop owner himself in the room with him; Scott remembered that sleazy voice from the arguing before. Dude obviously shared his guests' and employees' love for bullying.
When Scott kept his mouth shut, still confident that he could buy his time out of this embarrassing situation, there was the warning touch of the shocker again, this time painfully digging into his loins, and that was an experience he could very well do without today. "You're making a big mistake." Not the expected, far more unpleasant shock but a no less painful punch, with no way to feel the direction from where it came from exactly, or to turn away in time. More copper on his tongue and the cynical thought that Hank would give him the metaphorical whupping of his lifetime for needing a replacement for that damn canine again. Scott should be ever so lucky if those were the only traces to take away from this encounter.
"Heard you yap something like that before, mutie. So far, I can't see how I'm in trouble," the man chuckled darkly right by his ear, a deafening cloud of some tasteless sandalwood aftershave that was unable to cover up the traces of a week or so without showering, choking Scott while the contact surface of that damn cattle prod slowly made its way along the ripped open halves of his shirt as if the guy was trying to decide where to use his toy next. "You have quite the mouth on you for someone on whose head there's no less than three bounties in this part of town alone. Quite the delicious surprise, seeing your ugly mug show up on one of those flyers behind my counter, indeed. People around here don’t take too kindly to freaks shooting off the roofs of public buildings and getting the good innocent people of this great country killed, you see."
Another electricity attack, this time aimed right at one kidney. The strain on Scott's shoulders from arching up against his restraints was steadily growing, more blood dripping from his lips, from the arduous battle against giving his enemy the satisfaction of any too-loud noise coming from them instead. "Yeah, you are obviously someone who absolutely despises violence," he let out dryly when he could talk again. Great. Here Charles and he had been so sure that they'd purged all the records from certain incidents revolving Liberty Island from the damn archives ... Not to mention that there'd not been a single casualty at that damn train station – indeed not something Scott took for granted with all the accidents his damn powers had already caused – and Charles' anonymous trust fund for these kinds of repairs long had soothed the rest of any bad conscience. But such details were meaningless, dealing with someone all but drooling down on your neck with hatred, blinder than Scott could ever be even in a situation like this. Wasn’t the first time, wouldn’t be the last one. The resignation of how little hope there was that the world would ever be changing in that regard, growing diametrically with his exhausted numbness to said hostility, was what really hurt in these minutes of torture. "If you put all that criminal energy into fighting the actual bad guys among both our kinds, this city would be a lot safer. Ever thought about that?" Useless, he might as well be talking to the wall. Being able to judge better now where his enemy was, and the guy's movement patterns, made it easier, turning away from a new punch. But those were at least two badly bruised ribs requiring half a week of taking it easy anyway. God fucking damnit, next time he'd just send a goddamn Amazon order.
The man was waiting surprisingly patiently until Scott wasn’t panting so harshly through his teeth anymore before carrying on, every bit as unimpressed by lectures and taunting as expected. "We will be safe again when all of you disgusting creatures are wiped off the face of the Earth, mutie. I'm not entirely heartless, though. Maybe I'll let you go home with just a couple of organs and limbs missing if you got something interesting to tell me about your people. Rumor has it, you belong to the guy who killed ten thousands of humans with his fucking head last year. How about you tell me where I can find your psycho boss, huh? Now that's a very sweet reward to collect. Might even think about not cutting you open like a turkey if you call that asshole here. Sound like a deal?"
"You should be drinking less of that cheap piss you're selling up there, man. You're wasting yo…" Scott paused, bracing himself against new pain to be expected, and this time one he might not be able to walk away from, when the menacing coldness of the dangerous device in the guy's hand stopped right above his heart next. And just like that, playtime was over. Just like that, he had to decide whether to ignore possible damage to life and property, the latter putting his own health at danger even more, by shooting right through that damn blindfold, ripping his enemy to pieces with his blasts uncontrolled, or effectively putting the life of a raging bigot before his own who would happily continue to rain down his unfounded lust for revenge on Scott's mentor and teammates, possibly the innocent children in his house next. It really was one of these days of which there had been far too many lately, to wonder if Charles' vision was long lost. "You really want to ghost the watchdog of someone who could turn you into a vegetable with one thought even from the other side of the world, man?" It was a last risky attempt of a somewhat peaceful solution that could just as well have gone wrong but when the bastard backed away with a hint of hesitation, that was all the chance Scott needed. Aiming the energy he'd gathered into one swift, well-trained move in those last few tense seconds, he brought the lower half of his body up against the agonizing resistance of his bonds and wrapped his legs around the enemy, brutally sweeping him off his feet. A sickening crunch as the guy hit his head somewhere on the concrete below revealed the stale success of his counterattack, and this time, when it went quiet in the room, Scott could be sure, it really was. With a bit of effort, he could even ignore the painful knot immediately forming in his stomach that always accompanied such hated extreme measures, no matter against whom he needed to take them. In a way, he was glad he could still feel that sting of regret, even with such a bastard. Without it, he'd long have ended up being hired by someone like Magneto. He didn’t need to decide on another possibly badly damaging move of shooting through his ropes anymore, it turned out less than a minute later, when he was still breathing through the new pain in his shoulders, as loud noise from the shop above made it through the heavy cellar door.
The falling of bodies, a few shots hopefully missing their targets. The telltale rumble of thunder outside, shattering glass from a lot of ruined bottles.
Hearing that, it didn’t come as much of a surprise that Logan was smelling like a whole damn distillery, standing before Scott just a couple of seconds later. With a strong arm around his waist, his partner lifted him up in his restraints while diamond-sharp blades stretched up high over Scott's head, cut through those damn ropes.
Only too glad to brace himself on Logan's smaller but far broader shape, Scott lowered himself to his knees to give his body, especially his arms time to adjust, grateful when the familiar, soothing shape of his VISOR brushed the back of his unbruised hand. "Is he dead?" He shouldn’t be caring by all means and yet, for some reason, he needed to know before opening his eyes … if only for his own sake.
"You're too good for this damn world, Slim." Logan regarded him with an unbelieving growl that he probably deserved. But it was just one of the reasons why Scott had come to love that feral bastard so much in the last few months, that Logan soothingly squeezed his hand anyway, and turned his head in the right direction when Scott could finally bring himself to look up.
Not even as much rusty red on the ground as he'd feared, and the asshole was indeed still breathing. It was always that lowlife scum who could take the biggest hits.
"Maybe he'll remember who left him alive when the authorities and the press come by." Scott didn’t need to see Logan's tired headshake to know how thin the chances were for such a possibly positive outcome of yet another vandalism case with mutants involved downtown. Maybe it had to do that at least he would still be able to look in the mirror tomorrow. There was little else to hold on to left right now. Little … But not nothing. His knees still slightly shaking, he gladly let Logan pull him up and lead him away from that dark corner where Scott had once more almost lost his life to the narrow-mindedness and fear of normal people. At the staircase, he paused for a grateful kiss on his lover's lips. "I hope you guys left a few of those bottles intact. Meant to save you one of those for the weekend."
Logan's still very worried-looking dark eyes went wide with realization, and this time, the snort on his lips sounded amused. And maybe a little bit more fond than either of them was ready yet to admit that they felt about each other. "You're an idiot, Slim, entering such a biker gang-run shithole for that. Guess now I'll have to come up with something more spectacular than a couple of shiny new ties for you in return, huh?"
Scott shook his head wearily, grimacing as he spat a bit more blood as a parting farewell on the dirt-covered ground of that damn cellar before climbing the next steps, never looking back. "Just stick around, Logan, for as long as you can. That's more than good enough. I'm not sure how much of me would be left if you didn’t." He didn’t only mean today's rescue, though in a way, he supposed, the blessing of always having a shield like Logan on his team could be counted just as much a kind of love language as buying a stupid bottle of booze for watching a football game on a Saturday night. But for the moment, he felt too weary both in body and mind to put any of that into proper words.
From the way, Logan breathed another soothing kiss to his raw lips before they went to join the others, it seemed, his lover fortunately knew pretty well by now, how to hear everything Scott wasn’t saying, all without telepathy.

Could you post your book club rec list?
Oh my god where do I start. Well I guess I’ll start with what I’ve read this year and extremely basis rating/blurb. Youre probably just looking for titles but fuckit. Not gonna talk about my top recs of all time (mostly scifi/fantasy - terry pratchett overwhelmingly my favorite author). Book club I've joined this year is called asynchronous book club. Run by the owner of Wolfe & the Krone used book store, very cool and LGBT friendly. No assigned reading just show up at a bar write down stuff you like on an index card and get matched at tables with ppl to chat. Best thing ever. So here's what is on my list from 2024 in no particular order, not everything Ive read independently gonna focus the list on stuff that Ive had fun talking about / been recommended in book club. Ratings are not about the quality of the book but my personal subjective enjoyment.
Light Bringer - Pierce Brown: Scifi
Latest book in the red rising series and my favorite series in recent memory. Gritty, brutal. Very smart antagonists which I enjoyed, and intense action and twists. Highly stratified society - protag is from the most menial class working as a miner underneath Mars and joins a resistance in a plot to infiltrate the highest of societies to become an agent of change to free his people. Met a few other people in club who enjoy the series and recently got someone else to read it who says they loved the first book. 5/5
Oryx and Crake / The Year of the Flood / Maddaddam - Margaret Atwood: Scifi
First book I bought from the shop, recommended by the owner. Interesting scifi about a guy going insane thinking hes the last human alive taking care of a herd of lab-grown proto-humans after an apocalyptic plague on an earth already ravaged by climate change. Rotating POVs in books 2/3 (because he turns out to not be the last person), very worthwhile read that I enjoyed. 4/5
Fourth Wing - Rebecca Yarros: YA Fantasy
Teen girl with chronic condition at dragon rider military academy with spicy romance with resident bad boy. This is mainly fun to talk about in book club because everyone who has read it has problems with it. I have personal gripes with a couple plot holes I hoped would wind up being cleverly answered with worldbuilding and expositions in the sequel but I have been informed they are just plot holes. Good read but compared to everything else 2/5
This Is How You Lose the Time War - Mal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone: Scifi
Shorter read with interesting POV swaps from the two protagonists facing off against each other among multiple alternate time thread realities - each seeking to change time streams in subtle ways to undo each others organization and existence while falling in love with each other. 4/5
The Rise and Fall of D.O.D.O. - Neal Stephenson & Nicolle Galland: Scifi
A shadowy government agency recruits a linguist to decipher documents revealing that magic - though now extinct - was once real and they hunt down the mystery of how it disappeared and how to bring it back - with the help of a witch that stopped her aging due to the protagonist using magic to time travel and beg her to. Hybrid of scifi/fantasy/historical fiction/workplace comedy. First of a duology, I haven't read the second. 4/5
City of Thieves - David Benioff : Historical Fiction
More of an honorable mention havent met anyone whose read it but bought it at the used book store. Teen in war-torn WW2 siege of Leningrad is arrested and partnered with another prisoner and both are charged with collecting eggs for a colonels daughters birthday cake to earn freedom - a quest which takes them behind enemy lines. Very good, short book, read in 2 days 5/5
Next 3 are thrillers by Alice Feeney which came highly recommended to me by a club mate. Haven't been into thrillers because I feel so many are "a wife has a secret. a husband also has a secret" which doesn't appeal to me much, but I've gotten into them this year thanks to club and these are bangers.
Sometime I Lie - Alice Feeney: Thriller
First of hers Ive read and my favorite. I think regardless of which of her books you start with the first will be your favorite because of how brilliant the twists are. Built up to from the beginning in ways you can look back at from chapter 1 but the eventual reveal takes you out at the knees regardless. This one is about a woman in a coma coming in and out of consciousness piecing together the circumstances that landed her in a coma, family drama, and the identity of the person using drugs to keep her in it, interspersed with childhood diary entries that add a fascinating layer to the mystery. 5/5
Daisy Darker - Alice Feeney: Thriller
Locked house murder mystery on an island in a storm; my least favorite of the 3 but still very good. A large family gathers for the birthday of a grandmother who has long predicted her 80th birthday to be her last. She's the first to drop, but far from the last as someone - perhaps multiple someones - are enacting a plot against the rest which stems from a terrible secret. 4/5
Rock Paper Scissors - Alice Feeney: Thriller
Couple drifting apart; going out to the countryside for a vacation away from civilization that will make or break their relationship. And there is someone out there watching and interfering with the whole thing. husband has a medical condition causing face-blindness. Very much falls in line with the 'wife has a secret husband also has a secret' type of thriller i dislike but goddamn this was rock solid stuff. 4/5
Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal - Christopher Moore: Humor
Clever, Funny, Thought provoking. Especially Funny. Some kids are assholes, and one of them was a 6 year old living in Nazareth in the year 6AD who became best friends with a weird kid named Joshua (DBA Jesus Christ). This narrates the 30 years between the wise men arriving to the manger and the first gospels being preached as told by Joshua's best friend Levi, aka Biff. Recommended to me by a book club member last month and its probably my favorite thing I've been recommended this year. Incredible puns. 5/5.
My Best Friend's Exorcism - Grady Hendrix: Horror
To describe this book I tell people all the chapter titles are fittingly or ironically named after 80s/90s pop songs - with one of the scariest chapters of the exorcism being titled "I think we're alone now". So that should give you an idea of the humor and horror. Clique of girls go camping and decide to try acid. Very strange thing happens to one of them and she starts acting different afterward- and bad things start happening around her while her best friend struggles to get her old self back. Story of friendship, devotion, humor, betrayal, and horror. Extremely 90s culture centered - stranger things aint got nothing on this. Favorite book of another club member and I read it in 3 days. 5/5
Into Thin Air: A Personal Account Of The Everest Disaster - Jon Kakauer: Nonfiction Memoir
The personal accounting of a journalist which starts right after he has ascended the summit of Everest and soon after find his oxygen is depleted due to a mistake. This is compounded by the fact that the next 24 hours on Everest are the deadliest in the history of mountaineering with an overwhelming body count from a deadly storm. Then goes through his journey to get to this point. Rec'd to me by a club member. Intense and interesting. 5/5
Finlay Donovan Is Killing It - Elle Cosimana: Humor
A down on her luck single mom / murder mystery author gets mistaken for a hitman during a conversation with her agent at a cafe which contains sentences like "The contract doesn't specify how the whole thing plays out, as long as you get it done by next month. You can do that, right?". She receives an offer for her services, and despite attempts to correct the mistake a body winds up in her car. Real page turner. 5/5
Circe - Madeline Miller: Historical Fantasy Fiction
An alternate take on the life story of the Nymph who is most well known for the part she plays in the story of Odysseus when he arrives on her island. Beautifully written and really makes the gods and adjacent beings psychologically very different and not just like old powerful people. If you like greek mythology this is a top pick, also highly recommended by other club members. 4/5
All The Light We Cannot See - Anthony Doerr: Historical Fiction
Set in WW2 with constant POV swaps between two protagonists, a blind French girl named Marie-Laurie and a German orphan boy named Werner who is obsessed with radios. Story takes us through childhood and into their teen years as the war rages and the complicated web of relationships that unite them, as Marie and her father flee Paris with her father tasked with safeguarding a precious museum treasure. Pulitzer winner, very interesting how the author swaps POVs every 2-3 pages to show whats happening in their lives simultaneously. 4/5
Starter Villain - John Scalzi:
Down on his luck former journalist Charlie gets bequeathed the estate of his uncle who he's never met. Turns out his uncle is basically a Bond Villain, and Charlie's cat is in fact an agent of his uncle with serious tech skills sent to watch out for him. He needs to learn a lot very fast as his uncle's many and varied enemies start making moves against him. Fun read, fast paced. 3/5

Foreign Travel, Chips, and the Velvet Fog
In my previous career as a tax lawyer for a few very large multinational companies, I traveled extensively throughout the world. Two of my activities during the off hours (mostly weekends) were looking for non-US releases of music (before the day of the smartphone) and going to local grocery stores in search of unusual products (often spices). With respect to the latter, I learned from a former boss Jack Pepper, (his actual name; no pun intended) that the prices at the local grocery store was much cheaper than at tourist shops, and often the selection much more varied, and the local spices make great gifts to bring home.
After I morphed into the Toga Chip Guy, during my foreign travels, I still continue to visit local food markets, but focus my attention on chips.
I recently came across an article entitled "Why You Should Always Visit a Grocery Store When Traveling Abroad." The beginning of the article states:
Are you the type of person who arrives in a new destination, gets settled and heads straight to the grocery store? You're not alone. The grocery store is a great place to start any trip overseas vacation. Why? Read on to find out why you should always visit a grocery store when traveling abroad.
Try Local Specialties
Grocery stores are the go-to spot for foods you’ve probably never seen before back home. Do you want to try odd potato chip flavors?
You can read the entire article here: https://blog.seeqr.com/why-you-should-always-visit-a-grocery-store-when-traveling-abroad/.
See the photos of me looking at the chips on a trip to Italy.

ou never know what these trips to foreign stores may lead to. A good example, involved my browsing for music.
I had the great fortune to get to know Mel Torme, the Velvet Fog, most famous for writing the Christmas Song ("Chestnuts roasting on an open fire.")
I used to go to Marty's and other clubs in NYC to hear Mel perform. One time I was seated at the small table in Marty's at which he was standing while performing. His show was being recorded for an album. I got so carried away listening to Mel sing that I began to sing along with him. Mel knocked on the table and said "Kid, I work alone!"
When I traveled the globe for my former jobs, one of my hobbies was to visit record shops (they actually used to exist). While in Paris, I saw this Compact Disc ("CD") of the recording that night, "Mel Torme, Encore at Marty's." I was going to buy it, but balked when I found out it was $70, a lot of money back in the day. I figured I would wait to return home to the USA and find and buy it for much less.
When I returned home, I searched for the CD and couldn't find it. I called my friend, Stan, who was CEO of Tower Records and he told me it was not in Tower's Catalog. He suggested I call Concord Records for whom Mel was currently recording. Concord referred me to Dale Sheets, Mel's agent. Dale told me that Mel had never been paid for the album and that per the contract, all rights reverted back to Mel. Mel had never authorized its issuance in CD form. In short, Dale told me that if I could find the CD, it would be worth a lot to Mel. I told him I was going back to Paris for another business trip and would try to find it.
I found it in the same shop and bought two copies (one for me) and sent one to Mel via Dale. Shortly after, I received a call from Dale saying that Mel was most appreciative and wanted to do something to thank me. Dale told me Mel's schedule and one of the dates was at a convention in Orlando, FL that my wife Jessica was planning to attend. Dale arranged for us to watch Mel rehearse, set aside reserved seats in the very first row and invited us and Jessica's colleagues backstage after the performance to once again meet Mel. He autographed his autobiography "It Wasn't all Velvet" and gave me a copy.
A photo was taken of Mel and I. Upon returning home, I had it developed (we actually used to have to do this) and mailed two copies of it to Mel inside a thank you note. I wrote " I'm sure that a man of your stature receives many requests for your autograph, but since giving is more fun than receiving, I thought you would appreciate my autograph."
A week or so later, an envelope arrived back home from Mel. he had autographed the second copy, "To Alan, a great fan! Best Wishes Mel Torme." Sometime later my parents came for a visit and my Dad loved the photo and asked if we would make him a copy. We went to Kinkos to have it copied and my Dad took the copy home to Florida.
Years later, my Dad saw that Mel was going to do a concern at the Kravitz Center in West Palm Beach, FL and bought tickets to take my Mom. After the concert, my Dad tried to go backstage to meet Mel, but was stopped by a security detail. My Dad, who at times was prone to hyperbole, explained. "Mel and my son are best friends" and he took out the framed picture of Mel and me. One of the guards said, "Wait here!" and he took the photo backstage. The guard son returned and told my Dad and Mom to follow him where they took them backstage to meet Mel. Upon arrival, Mel asked "How is my dear friend Alan?" He obviously did not remember me but had read the inscription on the photo. Mel then took out the photo and wrote "To Alan's Dad." Mel Torme was a mensc,h which is a Yiddish word for a gentleman.

Have some crack xD
The couple is at the store grocery shopping, having separated to be me efficient in their quest.
After a while the boy hears some ruckus some aisles over.
Rapid footsteps are approaching and s/o slides around the corner (barely catching themselves) and dashes towards skele.
"Drop everything and run!" They shout, running past him towards the exit. "Go go go GO!"
Turns out s/o pantsed a male Karen and now his shrieking Karen wife was after s/o swinging her handbag over her head while the husband is wobbling behind with his pants still around his ankles. 😂
With Charon, Coal, Bear and Razzle.

Coal: The unsuspecting boy is just minding his business, looking through the cereal isle when he hears it.
First his thoughts went to Razzle possibly causing a storm with another customer about how they should add what kind of wine in what meal. But he couldn’t hear is brother’s loud pitched voice booming across the store, so he dismissed the thought.
Mastiff had wandered back from his hunt for double fudge brownies and melo cakes, dumping them into the shopping cart before looking into the direction of the noise. He looks back at Coal with a questioning face. Coal shrugs in response and Mastiff decides to check it out. It isn’t long until Coal hears rushing footsteps and a cackling voice he recognizes well. He snaps his head towards the source, sockets widening when he spots both you - the love of his life - and his brother, sliding around the corner, sprinting towards him.
“DROP EVERYTHING AND RUN!”
That’s all he needs to know that the two of you had done something. Of course the two of you did. When didn’t you do something? He watches as a furious woman sprints after you two, swinging her hand bag over her head. Shrieking about someone being pantsed. It is in that moment that everything clicks for Coal and he has to decide his next course of actions in the next 2 seconds. It’s a decision easily made.
Coal let’s you run past him as you shriek a “GO GO GOOOOOO!” But before Mastiff could sprint by him, Coal grasps him by the hood of his jacket. It was obvious from the start. Coal watches as the pantsed guy hobbles around the corner, the shrieking woman ever getting closer. Mastiff looks at his brother with terror, knowing what he was going to do.
“bro…” he tried to bargain, but Coal spoke up first.
“long live the king.”
And threw Mastiff into the fray, practically saying ‘deal with your own mess’ before taking the cart and phased through the shelves, cart and all to avoid getting caught by a flying handbag. He had shopping to do if he didn’t want an angry Razzle scolding him for hours on end. Coal would excuse you this time. Because he had to admit, what you did was hilarious. He was going to need to hear the full story from you later.
✨✨
Razzle: Razzle trusted you with the task of getting the correct wine while he would cover the ingredients for the dinner tonight. He was just about done with everything on the list. Deciding between two of the same type of unions, when he started to wonder what the hell you were doing to take so long - picking between different kinds of wines wouldn't take an hour.
After another ten minutes of waiting, Razzle had enough. Making his way to the liquor aisle, a ruckus was heard as he got closer to his destination, the source came from where Razzle was headed to. He was at the last corner when you barreled past him. A smile - which he knew all too well foretold chaos - on your face as you managed to stop yourself from faceplanting into the wall just in time.
"CARE TO TELL ME, DEAR, WHAT TOMFOOLERY YOU BROUGHT ON THIS TIME FOR TORIEL'S SAKE?" Razzle asked, not even surprised at what just happened in front of him. Your head snapped towards him, and as you were about to open your mouth to answer him; a chunk cheese got slapped right against the wall next to your face. You jumped away from the wall, glancing back in a panic before diving straight out of the way as a wine bottle hurled past you, shattering against the wall.
"No time to talk! Gotta run!" You shouted at Razzle, grabbing his hand and sprinting towards the nearest empty cart. Giving it a good shove before jumping in it, dragging Razzle with you. Leaving your own chock full cart behind. It wasn't long before an angry woman rounded the corner, with many wine flasks and bag in hand.
"YOU BRAT!!" She shrieked. If looks could kill, then Razzle would've been dust the moment her eyes met his.
One thought went through Razzle's mind.
"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!?"
"Just cover me!" You exclaimed as another wine bottle whizzed past you, shoving your body to the edge of the cart to swivel past it.
"YOU AND I NEED TO SERIOUSLY TALK AFTER THIS!"
"Fine! Fine! No more going on shopping trips I got it! Stop talking and cover me dammit!"
Razzle looked back at the manic woman running behind the two you. She was quite slow, he noted. Even for a woman in high heels - he could outrun her with ease in heels even higher then hers. A man struggling to keep his pants up, hobbled around the corner. And Razzle couldn't stop himself from cackling at the absurdity. His serious attitude came loose as he held up his right hand, the left eyelight flaring in a dark lavender light.
An unrestrained chuckle left him as he used his magic to catch a new bottle of whine that was thrown at him. The grin on his face was downright feral.
"GLADLY, MY DEAR."
With a swipe of his left hand he encased bystanders in a purple hue, pushing them to the side as he let a shelf fall to block the way with just a flick with his right wrist. The two of you were so banned from this store, but Razzle couldn't seem to care.
✨✨
Bear: This boy was just so happy to get some ingredients for tonight’s family dinner with you. Had Ben happy chuffing all the way to the store. He would spend quality time with you AND look at the abundance of food at the same time! Having separated to cover more grounds, Bear was looking through some vegetables when he heard the familiar taps of your shoes hitting the tiles.
At first he was happy to hear you coming back, thinking you’ve found your part of the list. The happiness gets thrown out the window the moment his mind registered that you weren’t walking over towards him, you were running. Bear’s head snapped towards you, causing a dizzy spell but he wasn’t focused on that. He was focused on your figure sprinting towards him and the blob behind you who seemed chase you. Adrenaline coursed through his body at the thought of you in danger. He was ready to take down the threat that was chasing you, whatever the blob was. But the way your voice exclaimed with glee made Bear calm down a little.
“We gotta run! Go goooo!!”
It was then that you came close enough for Bear to make out your face. You looked like a cat who stole the sardines, coming to skirting halt in-front of Bear you grabbed his hands. “Come on! Drop everything and run!”
With a glance behind you, you went off running again.
Once your words got processed, Bear reacted on instinct. He ain’t gonna leave all this food! Are you mad?! Bear scooped as much food as he possible cold in his huge arms and ran after you. He didn’t understand what was going on exactly, but the way the blob started to scream about public indecency Bear had a vague idea what was going on.
Didn’t stop him from going along with you though.
There was never a boring day with you around.
✨✨
Charon: All Charon wanted was a calm day going to the grocery store with his brother and mate. One normal shopping day…was that too much to ask?
If it concerned you then yes.
It was what he had ultimately signed up for when he started dating you. Not that he considered this side of you a flaw. Not at all, on the contrary, it was part of your charm that made Charon fall for you in the first place. But the man couldn’t help but long for some normalcy amidst all the chaos. Call him outdated, he didn’t care.
It has started as slightly normal. Charon sending Red alongside with you to get something from the other side of the store. Hoping Red would keep an eye on you. Not that he didn’t think you could handle some chaos by yourself, you could. Charon has experienced it firsthand. No, it was to make sure you wouldn’t cause the chaos.
It wasn’t long until a racket was heard, originating from the exact place Charon had send you and Red to. He could already feel a headache coming on, almost certain he knew who caused it.
Red appeared with a ping soon after. Sweat coating his skull and a tight grin on his face. “ah-hey, boss.”
He still called Charon boss in public, even though he didn’t have to keep that ruse up. Old habits die hard.
“Hello Brother,” Charon replied, glancing behind Red he expected to see you. But you weren’t with him. “Where Is My Dove, Brother?”
Red started to sweat more.
“aheheh, promise not to get mad, boss?”
“I’ll Be The Judge Of That Brother.” Charon huffed, he was getting impatient, tapping his boot.
He wasn’t angry at his brother, frustrated yes, but he was mostly worried about you.
When Red didn’t answer him, Charon spoke up again, “I Am Waiting.”
“aheheh, well-“
“Yesssss?”
“ya spousey may have…pantsed a guy…and-“
“THEY…WHAT!?”
“pantsed a guy, boss.”
Of course you did. Scratch headache, Charon was about to experience an entire migraine. He facepalmed, groaning in frustration. One day…of peace, that was all he asked.
“Where?”
He didn’t have to ask twice, Red hurried to show him the way, leading Charon straight to you. Where the two brothers were greeted by the sight of you using the dodging skills Charon has taught you to your advantage. Dodging all kinds of food products being hurled at you by an angry woman shrieking like a banshee. A crowd had formed around the two of you, and behind the crowd was a guy with his pants down at his ankles.
You were taunting the lady as you expertly side stepped everything. And Charon couldn’t help but have a newfound respect for you. He would’ve been shamelessly proud if it wasn’t for the fact that you were doing this in a grocery store. Charon was about to step in and drag you with him when the security entered the chaos. You let out an “OH SHIT!” And booked it, finding the two brothers easily in the crowd you sprinted towards them. Grabbing Red by the hood and Charon by the scarf.
“Drop everything and run! I don’t wanna go back to jail!”

Tumblr media
Andy’s phone vibrated once in his back pocket, initially he ignored it. Too busy scanning over the pre-made pastries, debating cupcakes or sugar cookies. In his left hand was a cardboard container filled with fruit-flavored hard lemonades. But he felt his phone buzz again, this time in rapid succession. With an eye-roll, he pulled it out of his pocket and towards his ear without even looking at the caller ID.
“Hello?” He said flatly, deciding on the brightly colored cookies and grabbing a few of them, supporting the stack with his chest. “Hi Andy, it’s Marie.” Her voice was soft, but full of excitement. “I was just calling to make sure you’re coming to the get-together this afternoon. You didn’t replay to our group message.” Andy had that group message on mute, so of course he didn’t reply. “Of course, I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” Lie. He wanted nothing more than to skip this stupid party. She talked his ear off for another couple minutes, talking about nothing important, as he stood in line to pay for his couple groceries.
“Well Marie, I’m actually about to check-out at the store. I’ll see you at 2.” Andy cut her off mid-sentence. “Okay dear, don’t forget, it’s near the playground, John is bringing out his grill.” She explained, although Andy already knew, they did this literally every year. “Alright, I will be there. Bye.” He said again, before hanging up the phone.
He understood the importance of community, and getting to know your neighbors and all that jazz, but he didn’t need to be reminded of an event he had known about for well, a year. Andy knew he sounded like a sourpuss, and he did enjoy himself while at the function, but just the initial thought of attending is what he dreaded. After checking out, he started the walk across the parking lot towards his car.
Tumblr media
When Andy finally decided to make his way towards the party, he heard some kids screaming as soon as he stepped out his door. Thank god, his child was older, there was no way he could deal with that type of screaming anymore. The cookies and hard lemonades were still in their shopping bags, and he slipped in a bottle of Jameson for him and some of the other guys in the neighborhood.
The red and blue twisting slides soon came into Andy’s view, along with about thirty people, all sitting in lawn-chairs in their own little circles. Andy had made sure to grab his own chair from the garage before he left. People greeted Andy as he got closer to the crowd of people, handshakes from some of the older men, pecks on the cheek from some of the older women, and high-fives from some of the kids he had known since they were in diapers.
“Andy! Over here!” Andy turned his head towards the person who called his name, it was his friend Josh. Him and Andy had been friends ever since Josh moved into the cul-de-sac about ten years ago, they were neighbors. Their son’s had hit it off right away, and ended up becoming really good friends, and in turn, so did the two older men. Andy ditches the cookies and lemonades with the rest of the food and beverages.
“Hey man.” Andy pulled the other man in for a brief hug, before setting up his lawn chair. “Did you bring the stuff?” Josh asked, pretending to be secretive. “Of course I did.” Andy scoffed, pulling out two glasses and the green bottle. He poured about three-fingers worth of alcohol into each glass. Three-fingers worth meaning about a third of the way full. Both of them chatted about anything that came to mind as a couple more people appeared.
Josh was telling Andy a story he had heard about a hundred times, so he half-listened, nodding and throwing out the occasional “uh-huh.” Andy allowed his eyes to wander between person to person, watching other people engage in conversation, kids push each other for a turn on the swing, and a group of elderly men gossiping about someone from the community. He heard an uptick in conversation to his left, so he turned his attention that way.
“Who is that?”
Andy’s eyes landed on you. He had never seen you before, clearly, and he was absolutely sure of that. You were not someone simply forgotten. His eyes followed you, every movement, almost in slow motion. You hugged some of his friends and neighbors, placing friendly kisses on their cheeks. A face decorated with a big smile as you greeted some of the smaller children, and they clung to you like they had known you their whole life.
“Who’s that?” Andy’s friend laughed at him. “That’s (Y/F/N). She used to babysit for almost every family here, until she went off to college. She recently graduated and moved into the neighborhood.” That name rang a bell. He had definitely heard it before, but never would have connected the two. That made sense why he never met you, Laurie and him never believed in babysitters. Almost like you were summoned by your name being mentioned, you sauntered towards the small circle of people Andy currently sat in.
You were wearing a green sundress, adorned with small white polka-dots and thin straps tied into bows on your shoulders. The color accented your skin color absolutely amazing. It clung to your body, your breasts, hips, ass, and thighs. The material ended at the middle of your thighs, occasionally catching a gust of wind, pulling the fabric a little higher. A thin layer of sweat covered your chest and legs, giving you a glow of some sorts.
“Hey guys!” You exclaimed, standing between Andy and Josh’s lawn chairs. Your eyes bouncing between everyone until they landed on Andy. “Hi, I’m (Y/F/N)! I don’t think we’ve met.” You stuck out one of your manicured hands, and Andy’s large hand enveloped over yours. “Nice to meet you, I’m Andy Barber.” He introduced himself. “Wait, are you Jacob Barber’s dad?” This confused Andy.
“I am. How do you know Jacob?” Andy shifted in his chair to face you better. “Jacob and I went to college together.” You explained, everyone else had gone back to their own conversations. “Oh, He’s never mentioned you before.” He explained, bringing his glass up to his lips. “We only met our last semester, I transferred closer to home my last year. I originally went to school in Washington.” You explained, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear. “When I told him I was moving here, he mentioned you lived in this neighborhood. I didn’t think I would meet you so soon.”
Before Andy could say anything else, your name was being called from somewhere behind you. “Well, if you talk to Jacob, tell him I said hello.” And with that you walked off, but not before Andy could admire you one more time. The way your hips moved when you walked. He even noticed that it wasn’t white polka-dots on your dress, but tiny flowers.
For the rest of the afternoon, he would steal glances at you, and nearly got caught staring at you for way too long. When he got home, had a conversation with Jacob. His son was surprised when his dad asked about you. “(Y/F/N)? How do you know (Y/F/N)?” Jacob sounded confused. “Apparently she just moved into the neighborhood. She said you two went to college together.”
“Oh yeah, she did mention that.” The man on the other end of the phone laughed. “Yeah, well, she transferred to my college last year, something about her mom and wanting to be closer. We had the same minor, so we had two classes together last semester.” His story lined up perfectly with hers. “She’s basically the reason I passed those classes.” There was silence for a moment. “Well, she told me to tell you hello.
Tumblr media
Andy quickly found out that you lived only a couple houses down from him. This sparked his memory, he remembered seeing a movie truck and an unfamiliar car, but he assumed someone was moving out and not in. This neighborhood rarely has any new people, especially not people your age.
Like every morning, Andy went on a run, but instead of turning left out his driveway, he went right. The way toward your house. He wasn’t exactly sure how many houses away you were. But it wasn’t hard to figure it out, since you were gathering groceries from your car when he passed. It looked like you were struggling so he stopped.
“Need some help?” He asked, starting the walk up your driveway. You tossed your head in the direction of his voice, and a smile immediately grew on your face. “Yes, please.” You chuckled, balancing a jug of milk on your thigh. He picked up his pace and took in your appearance on this warm morning. This sundress was light blue, with some more white flowers. The sleeves were longer than the last dress but around the same length on your thighs. The neckline plunged much further, exposing the inner curvature of your breasts. He thought about his lips pressing against the valley of your breasting, being sure to mark his territory.
Quickly, he grabbed the reusable bag off your shoulder, and easily gathered four more bags. “Wow, Mr. Muscle.” He heard you chuckle, grabbing the last bag and the carton of milk. He walked behind you, and up the steps towards your front door. “Don’t mind the mess, I’m still unpacking.” You explained, unlocking and pushing the door open. Andy kicked the door shut with his foot, and you led him towards the kitchen.
You placed the milk and your purse on the counter, “You can just set them on the ground, I have to sort out cold stuff.” He obliged. “Thank you so much, Mr. Barber.” You smiled at him. God, he loved your smile. “No problem, anything I can do to help.” He insisted. “Would you like water? A soda? A beer?” You asked him, opening your fridge to place the milk inside. Andy’s eyes landed on the new skin visible on your thighs, as the fabric moved upward. For a moment, he saw a piece of red fabric. His cock twitched in his boxers at the sight.
“I would love a beer, but since it’s only eleven in the morning, I’ll take a water.” He looked away from you, peering out your kitchen window. Anything to get his mind off the sight in front of him. “If you insist, but a little day-drinking never hurt anyone.” You snicker, shutting the fridge. After he composed himself a bit, he looked back towards you. You were only a couple feet from him, and he took the water out of your hand.
“At my age, it could hurt a lot.” Andy chuckled, before taking a swig of water. “If Jacob is 22, that means you’re probably in your early forties, that’s not old at all.” You rolled your eyes, grabbing one of the bags off the floor and emptying the contents onto the counter. “Plus, you don’t look a day over twenty-five.” Andy laughed at your words.
“What? I’m serious!” You insisted, throwing the now empty bag at Andy. It bounced off his chest and back onto the floor. “Well, thank you for the compliment.” The two of you stood in silence for a few moments, he watched you unpack your groceries. His eyes flickered between your ass and your legs, thinking about the red fabric only inches away from the end of your skirt. He desperately wanted to see that dress lying on the floor of this kitchen, or his bedroom, or anywhere.
He had never thought about a woman, the way he thought about you, but he did so guiltily. Not only were you young, you were friends with his son, and he was technically still married. Long story. Him and his kinda-sorta-almost ex-wife were separated, but not legally divorced. Laurie was dragging her feet with the paperwork. Andy had been trying for almost a year now, but she just kept coming up with excuses and demands that were just outrageous. And all he wanted to do was take out his frustration. On you.
“Mr. Barber?” Your voice tore him for his thoughts. “Huh? I’m sorry, what did you say?” His eyes refocused on you. “I said, I’m about to start some lunch, do you want some?” Andy wanted to desperately say yes, but he didn’t trust himself to stay here any longer. “Thank you so much for the offer, but I should really get back to my run, I have to leave to meet a client at two.” He explained, downing the rest of his water and tossing it in the trash can beside the island.
“Oh okay! I’ll walk you out.” You insisted, starting the journey towards the door. Andy, happily, trailing behind you. “Well, enjoy the rest of your run and good luck with your client.” And what she did next caught Andy off guard. Her soft, glossed lips landed on his right cheek. “And thanks for helping me with my groceries.” He didn’t even try and muster a word, and just left with a smile.
He might have lied to you. Just a small lie though. He wasn’t actually meeting with a client, but instead he had a meeting with Laurie and their respective lawyers. But you didn’t need to know that. So, Andy didn’t even try to finish his run, he went immediately home. He couldn’t think straight, and he needed to deal with this stirring in his gym shorts if he wanted to get anything else done today. So, directly to the shower he went.
Pulling off his clothes, and throwing them in the hamper. The water was cold, not lukewarm, cold. Like ice. He let the water fall down the expanse of his back, his hands pressed against the tile in front of him. He tried to think about anything except for you. But he let his eyes fall close, which ended up being a bad idea. Or a good idea. He wasn’t entirely sure.
All he could see was you bent over the island in your kitchen. That blue dress bunched up around your waist, and that thin red fabric completely on display for him to see. He admired them for a brief moment before tearing them down your legs, you let out a quick gasp. One of his knees pushed your legs open wider, so he could fit one of his hands between your legs. His index moved slowly between your folds, before making contact with your clit.
He felt your body tense and chuckled. Leaning over, his chest against your back, mouth right next to your ear. “You’re already so wet for me, bunny.” You couldn’t even muster any words, just noises, desperate for him to move his fingers. You rotate your hips against his still finger. “Talk to me, honey, what do you want me to do?” He loved having power, but especially power over you. “Touch, please.” Her voice was small, filled with breathy moans. “Touch who, baby?” He heard you huff in frustration. “Touch me, please.” She practically begged him. “Good girl.” He said, his index finger rubbing small circles onto her clit.
Andy couldn’t help it anymore, his hand wrapped around his cock, leaving one hand against the shower wall. He started slowly, savoring these thoughts. But that was hard since he was already so worked up, he just needed some release. He thrusted into his hand, picking up the pace each time. Mind filling with more scenarios of you and him.
And before he knew it he was right about there, and all he needed to think about was his cock buried deep inside your tight pussy, your face full of pleasure. Eyes screwed shut, mouth agape, and a string of moans passing your lips. He thought about you clenching around him, taking him so well. About how he would fill you up with his cum, and leave you a dripping mess.
The building in his stomach had reached its max, and he came in his hand and against the wall. Covering them in ribbons of cum, but both being cleaned almost immediately from the water. He pumped until he became too sensitive to even touch. He may have just gotten out of the shower, but he felt dirty

Tumblr media
The music is loud against Sunwoo’s ears as he dances with a girl he doesn’t even know the name of, not that he wants to know her name. She turns around and wraps her arms around the back of his neck, giving him a smirk. “Enjoying the view?”
Sunwoo grins, leaning in towards her ear to whisper, “Maybe.”
The unknown girl giggles at the ticklish feeling from Sunwoo’s lips, only making his smile wider as he moves closer to ask,
“Wanna get out of here?”
“Sunu! Sunu, we have to go.” Sunwoo curses at the familiar voice, turning around to see Chanhee with a frantic expression on his face, and that’s when he knows it’s serious. “Is it Minji?”
“It’s Minji.” Sunwoo removes himself from the stranger’s arms without another word and follows after Chanhee. They hurry out of the club, the cold spring night air hitting them as they walk. Sunwoo stops for a moment, looking up at the stars as he wonders what could’ve happened.
“Sunwoo! Come on!” The black haired beauty takes one last breath of the night air, before rushing over to Chanhee’s car.
Tumblr media
“Minji, please calm down!” Sunwoo hears as soon as he and Chanhee enter Minji’s house. His eyes widen when he hears a loud crash from upstairs, and he sprints up the stairs fast as he can, bursting in through her bedroom door to see Minji crying while holding a flower vase in hand. Her mom turns to look at Sunwoo helplessly, and he nods his head at her.
“Minji, look at me.” Sunwoo says softly, and she keeps her eyes trained to the floor as she clutches the vase tightly. He takes a few steps closer as Chanhee walks in quietly behind him, choosing to stay back since he knows Sunwoo handles these situations better. “Minji.”
It’s when she’s about to throw the vase that Sunwoo grabs her wrist to stop her, pulling her into a hug with his other arm. She freezes for a moment, before letting out a small sob into Sunwoo’s shoulder, closing her eyes as she takes in her best friend’s comforting scent. “It’s okay Minji, we’re here. Chanhee and I are here.”
Chanhee finally walks over, resting his hand on Minji’s back as she cries. He takes a glance at Sunwoo to see him with a stoic expression on his face, eyebrows slightly furrowed as the sounds of Minji’s sobs get louder.
who the fuck did this to her?
Tumblr media
“I always knew Mark was a piece of shit. Can’t believe he’s already showing interest in another girl when you guys just broke up.” Sunwoo grumbles to himself as he places his water back down. The three of them are sitting on Minji’s floor, talking about what caused her breakdown. She lets out a small sigh, running a hand through her hair, “I should’ve listened to your protests from the start. He was too charming though.”
“That’s how they get you. I mean, look at Sunwoo.” The person in question chokes on his drink, turning to look at his lavender haired best friend with a furrow to his brow.
“Why the fuck am I being brought into this?”
“He’s a charming ass guy,” Chanhee continues, choosing to ignore Sunwoo. “That’s how he’s able to pull in any person he shows the slightest bit of interest in. Then when he gets what he wants, poof. He’s gone.” Sunwoo chuckles, not finding it in himself to deny Chanhee’s explanation.
Cause he’s right.
Minji’s eyebrows furrow once an idea comes to mind, and she stands up along with the plan forming in her head. Sunwoo and Chanhee look at her with confused expressions on their faces, and she flashes them a small smile.
“The best type of revenge is to hurt the person that means the most to them. Correct?” The two guys nod at her, not sure where she’s going with this.
“And Chanhee says that Sunu is a bit of a fuckboy, right?” Sunwoo rolls his eyes at the term, opening his mouth to argue and Minji flashes him a look. He sighs, nodding his head and leaning back onto the bed frame.
“What if we have Sunwoo swoop in and take the girl Mark’s interested in, have her fall completely in love with our sweet, sweet Sunu. Then he breaks her heart when the task is completed, so not only will Mark feel sad for her, but he’ll feel guilty knowing this wouldn’t have happened if he didn’t move on so fast.” Minji says with a grin, looking at her two friends to see their reactions. Chanhee frowns immediately at the idea, while Sunwoo stares back at Minji with an open-mouthed smirk.
“We haven’t done anything fun like this in a while, I think it’d be cool.” Minji claps her hands in glee at his response, about to start planning the whole thing when Chanhee intervenes. “I don’t think this is a good idea. I understand revenge on Mark, but why do we have to bring the girl into it? She didn’t do anything wrong to Minji.”
“I don’t see why not. Don’t be a party pooper Chanhee, just help us plan it out mm?” Chanhee stares at his two best friends, obviously seeing that he won’t be able to get through to them. He lets out a sigh, raising up his hand as a way of saying well, get along with it.
“Well what I know about this girl is that her name is yln yn. She’s a year younger than us and goes to the same uni. Apparently her and Mark were close when they were in high school, but lost contact when he moved.”
“So his first love basically.” Sunwoo states, and Minji nods at him. “Ding, ding, ding! You’re correct. She works at the flower shop down by that cat café near your guys’ apartment complex.”
“Sounds like you know a lot about her for someone who just got their heartbroken.” Minji slaps the back of Chanhee’s head and he lets out a small whine. Sunwoo chuckles as he watches Chanhee rub the back of his neck, glaring up at Minji.
“Have to know the enemy, don’t I?” She asks with a smirk. Sunwoo takes a sip of his water before turning towards Minji and asking, “So what’s the plan?”
She bites her lip excitedly, walking over to grab her corkboard and sticky notes. Minji turns back around with a big smile.
“Here’s what I was thinking…”
Tumblr media
“I hope your wife enjoys the bouquet Mr.Lee!” He gives you a big smile, waving bye as he steps out of the shop. You let out a breath, feeling satisfied by another happy customer. Leaning back onto the counter, you grab your water bottle and take a sip, only to immediately choke and spit it back out into the bottle when the door chimes.
“Hi! Welcome to-” The words die in your throat when you lay eyes on the man who walked in. His black hair is slightly curled over his forehead, plush lips in a small pout as he takes a look around the store. He’s wearing a white turtleneck with a beige overcoat, making it appear as if he just came out of a photoshoot.
The infamous Kim Sunwoo, a senior at Seoul National University. He’s notorious for sweeping people off their feet in a matter of minutes, being both charming and handsome really works in his favor. You can’t deny that he’s the most beautiful man you’ve ever seen, but you’ve heard the rumors.
don’t get pulled in.
He runs a hand through his hair, flashing you a smile as he steps over to the counter.
oh jesus.
“Hi, I heard you guys make really pretty bouquets?” You nod your head silently, and he cocks his head to the side.
oh BITCH! You’re supposed to speak!
“I mean, I guess so! I’d say bouquets and flower crowns are our specialty.” Sunwoo lets out a small smile, finding you to be a lot cuter than he originally expected. “What’s the occasion?”
Sunwoo takes a good look at you, analyzing your features as you look at him expectantly. He stares into your eyes, tilting his head when he sees how they sparkle back at him. He’s heard a lot about people holding stars in their eyes, but he never believed it.
Until now.
“Um, sir?” Sunwoo shakes his head, rubbing the back of his neck as he snaps himself out of his daze. You look down at your hands, feeling shy at the fact that you just caught Sunwoo basically checking you out. He grins at your shyness, “It’s my friend’s birthday soon, I wanted to get her something nice.”
“Okay, well here’s a photobook of our recent bouquets we’ve made, as well as the customer favorites. My favorite flowers are daisies, but I personally like bouquets with sunflowers because,”
Sunwoo listens attentively as you explain the different bouquets, and the meaning of the flowers added to them. He watches the way your eyes sparkle even more when you talk about something you’re passionate about, even letting out giggles when you look up at him with a bright smile on your face.
“Well, I suppose I’ll get the sunflower bouquet you recommended to me.” You nod your head, typing in the order into the computer. “Great decision.”
“What time will it be ready tomorrow?” Sunwoo asks, leaning forward onto the counter. You find yourself scooting backwards from the close proximity, choosing to look busy with the computer. “I can have it ready by 12 pm, if that works for you?” The pretty boy nods his head, grinning at your shyness.
this will be a piece of cake, Sunwoo thinks to himself.
“Yeah, that’s perfect. My name is Kim Sunwoo by the way.” You nod your head as you type in his name for the order. Glancing up from the computer screen you see him watching you with an amused expression on his face, and you raise an eyebrow. “Is there something on my face? Shit, it might be the sparkles from that ribbon...”
Sunwoo giggles at you, shaking his head. “No, there’s nothing on your face, yn.” You raise an eyebrow again, and he smiles. “How do you know my name?”
He points at your nametag, and you look down at your hands, letting out a small, ah.
i… am stupid.
“Both silly and beautiful, a great combo.” Your eyes widen at the compliment, realizing you’re about to be one of the people that Sunwoo breaks and that’s when you snap out of it. Sunwoo’s smile drops slightly when he sees you look at him with a serious expression on your face, stark contrast to the shy smile you were sporting previously.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, Sunwoo.” He nods his head slowly, giving you a smile before walking out of the shop. You let out a breath, leaning back onto the counter and closing your eyes.
not gonna fall for it.
Tumblr media
“It’s been two weeks and you’re telling me she still hasn’t fallen for you yet?” Minji asks Sunwoo as they hangout by the bar. They watch Chanhee from across the club, seeing him giggling with a girl. Sunwoo takes a sip of soju, letting out a sigh as he remembers his failed attempts of asking you on a date.
“No one’s ever said no to me before, so that shit kinda hurt my ego.” Minji rolls her eyes, muttering about how you must either be blind or stupid, or both.
probably both.
“Maybe I should’ve made Chanhee do it.” Sunwoo flashes her a glare, turning away to look around the club. His thoughts keep going back to the first time you turned him down, and he chugs the rest of his soju.
“Here’s the bouquet! I hope your friend likes them.” You tell Sunwoo with a smile, handing him the delicate yellow bouquet. He grins at the bright assortment, finding them a lot prettier than expected. He glances up at you, finding himself staring into your eyes once again as he says,
“She’ll love them, thank you.” You nod your head, typing into the computer that you’ve given the client the flowers. Sunwoo stands idle for a moment, and you look back at him, wondering why he hasn’t left yet.
“Is there something else-”
“Would you like to go on a date with me?” Your eyes widen, clearly taken aback by his request, before you chuckle, “No thank you.”
“Great! I’ll pick you up at- wait.” You stare at him in amusement as he fumbles over his words. “Did you say no?”
“I did.”
“Why?”
“I know the type of guy you are, Sunwoo.” Sunwoo’s shocked expression turns into an amused smile, and you watch as he even lets out a small laugh, shaking his head. He leans onto his elbows on the counter, staring into your eyes, “And what may that be?”
You smile, and he waits for your response. You lean onto the counter as well, watching as Sunwoo swallows from the close distance between the two of you that you initiated.
“The one that makes any girl he wants melt into putty in his hands. Then when he gets what he wants, he leaves. I’m not going to fall for it, Kim Sunwoo.” He blinks at you in shock, and you give him a sweet smile, leaning back and taking a sip of water from your water bottle.
“Have a wonderful day.” Sunwoo snaps out of his state of surprise, and lets out a deep chuckle, looking at you with a challenge to his eye.
“I’ll prove you wrong, pretty. I’ll see you around.”
Sunwoo scowls at the memory, and Minji lets out a sigh when she turns her head to see the crease between his eyebrows. She reaches up and rubs the area with her thumb until the frown disappears, and she gives him a smile.
“Let’s dance, hm?” Not waiting for his answer, she grabs Sunwoo’s hand and brings him onto the dance floor. They sway with each other for a few minutes, with Sunwoo clearly still thinking of you as he blindly follows Minji’s lead. She squints at how unusual Sunwoo’s being, and pats the top of his head.
“She’ll come around Sunu, they always do. When she does, remember the plan.” Minji says in an attempt to reassure him, and he bites his lip, thoughts trailing back to your smile as he says,
“She’s not like them though.”
Tumblr media
“Sunwoo, why are you here again?” You ask boredly as you spray the daisies at the front of the shop, not even sparing him a glance. He freezes, before holding out an unopened boba, and you finally turn your head to see him looking at anything but you. “I got you the classic pearl green milk tea, I wasn’t sure what your favorite flavor was so I decided to play it safe.”
You stare for a moment, finding it sort of endearing that he’s too shy to even glance at you right now. Deciding to be nice, you reach out and take it, feeling warmth flood your face when he finally locks eyes with you. Sunwoo wipes his original surprised expression off his face, now smiling at the fact that you took the drink.
It’s been three weeks since Sunwoo’s ordered those flowers, and he’s visited the shop every time you're on shift. He hasn’t even bought flowers since the day he ordered the bouquet, he just comes to talk to you and help out in the shop. He keeps trying to take you out on a date, but you never give him the time of day. Your own boss has fallen for him, nudging your hip and telling you to “say yes to the handsome man already!” You’ve never heard of Sunwoo trying so hard to get with someone, let alone drag it out for three weeks. So now you’re left wondering if he genuinely does like you?
“It’s my favorite flavor, thank you.” Sunwoo lets out a sigh of relief, and the corner of your lip quirks up. You cough into your shoulder, turning around to walk back into the shop after an awkward silence settles over the two of you. He reaches out and grasps your elbow softly to stop you, and you slowly turn your head to look back at him.
“Are you going to ask me if I can go out with you again?”
“…”
“You already know my answer, Sunwoo.”
“Give me one night.” You don’t pull away, and he takes it as a sign to continue. “Let me take you out on one date, and I’ll let you decide whether I’m the type of guy you think I am. You can leave whenever you want, I just want one chance with you.” You stare into his eyes, finding truth to his words, and you let out a sigh.
“Okay.” Sunwoo tries to fight the smile emerging onto his face, resulting in his pretty lips quivering a bit.
“Okay.”
“… Okay.”
“I’ll see you.” Sunwoo says, turning around and beginning to walk away. You immediately frown, “You’re not going to give me your number?!”
“Check the boba!” He yells back, and you glance at the cup to see his number written on it, along with a message.
have a good day at work, yn <3
Biting your lip to stop the warmth from rushing to your cheeks, you turn your head to look at Sunwoo’s retreating figure. A smile breaks out on your face when you see him raise his hands in the air in victory, and you feel your heart warm.
“I guess he’s serious.”
Tumblr media
“Hey, I’m here.” Sunwoo says into his phone, and he chuckles at the numerous curses you mutter as you slip on your shoes in a hurry. “I’ll be out in a sec!”
Hanging up the phone, Sunwoo makes sure the passenger seat is clean. He grabs his water bottle, taking a sip as you step into the car. When he swallows the water, he opens his mouth to greet you, only to pause when he lays eyes on you.
Instead of the t-shirt, jeans, and apron he always sees you in at work, you’re wearing a pleated black skirt with a white dress shirt and an oversized argyle patterned vest over it. Feeling Sunwoo’s stare on your side-profile as you buckle in your seatbelt, you turn your head and lock eyes with him, and he snaps out of his daze.
“You, uh.” He coughs into his shoulder in an attempt to hide the blush rising up his cheeks, “You look pretty.” Sunwoo muttters, and you smile shyly.
“Thanks, you look nice too.” He chuckles, pulling out of your driveway. “Just nice?”
“Just nice Sunwoo, don’t push my kindness.” You joke and he rolls his eyes at you. He hands you his phone for you to aux, and you smile happily as you search up a Day6 song to play. Sunwoo sneaks glances at you, and you chuckle when you notice his eyes continuing to be trained on you through your peripheral vision.
“You’re gonna get us in an accident if you keep turning your head to look at me.” He sputters, and you laugh at his reaction. He takes one more look at you as you giggle, finding the sound of your laugh a lot cuter than he should.
“Where are we going for our date?” You ask, and he shrugs. He takes a right at the stoplight before grinning at your question. “You’ll see.”
“Oooh, so it’s a surprise?” Sunwoo doesn’t respond, instead letting out a small hum to the tune of Day6’s new song. You smile, looking out the window to take in the view of Seoul at night for the remainder of the car ride.
Tumblr media
“So, how was the date? It’s been like three weeks since we all last hung out like this. I need updates, Sunwoo, updates.” Minji asks as she flips the brisket on the grill. Chanhee takes a cooked piece, turning to look at his friend for his response.
Sunwoo stares at the meat quietly, a small grin appearing on his lips as he remembers how your guys’ first date ended.
“Can’t believe you fell while we were ice skating.” You giggle, and Sunwoo lets out a whine, patting his rather sore butt. He shoots you a playful glare, to which you stick your tongue out at him as he walks you to your door.
“At least I know I was able to make you laugh that hard on our first date.” Sunwoo jokes, and you give him a small smile. You’re surprised that tonight was so fun, it truly exceeded your expectations. The surprise location was the ice skating rink, to which you were incredibly excited for.
Sunwoo brought you there in hopes that he could teach you how to skate, but little did he know, you already knew how to. It ended up becoming a competition between the two of who could do the most intricate tricks. You won though, because Sunwoo literally ate shit when he tried to do an axle.
“So yn, what’s your final opinion of me after tonight? Am I the type of guy you originally thought I was?” Sunwoo asks once the two of you make it to your doorstep. You stare at him for a moment, taking in his handsome features. Tonight’s date was fun, and you learned a lot more about him than you ever thought you would. He’s charming, funny, kind, and lastly, you find him to be genuine.
As you look at Sunwoo, you let out a small breath when you come up with your verdict, and he nervously awaits your response even though he hides it well.
“I don’t know.”
“You don’t know?” He repeats, and you give him a big smile as you open your front door. You slip off your shoes, and turn back to look at Sunwoo.
“Have to go on a second date to come up with my opinion.” You say, closing the door before he can ask more questions.
Sunwoo stands there for a moment, letting your words process in his brain. Once it finally hits him, he lets out a smile, clapping his hands in victory. Sunwoo pumps the air, stepping off your porch and heading towards his car with newfound confidence and excitement filling his veins.
It’s been three weeks since then, and you and Sunwoo have gone on three more “official dates.” The other times the two of you have hung out are for some reason, not considered dates, and more of you guys just bonding. Whether it be helping each other with homework, Sunwoo coming to help you at the shop, or the two of you doing late night convenience store runs to eat ramen, there’s something going on between the both of you.
Chanhee is able to sense something different as he stares at his friend, knowing that this was going to happen. Minji notices as well, considering that Sunwoo still hasn’t answered her question. She frowns at him, reaching out and slapping his arm. He jumps back, startled as he looks at his two best friends.
“You don’t like yn… right?” Minji asks, to which Sunwoo stares at her as memories of you flood his mind when he tries to come up with an answer.
He remembers the way your whole face lights up when food gets placed in front of you, and how you just let your glasses fog up when the two of you eat ramen. He’s tried to take your glasses off when you eat the hot noodle dish, but you would slap his hand away each time, giving him a smile.
“My glasses are just having a sauna, leave them be.”
Minji tilts her head to the side, and that’s when Sunwoo cracks a small smile, looking up at her. “No, I don’t like yn.”
Tumblr media
You lay on your bed, scrolling through Twitter to try and find some cursed emoji pictures when you hear your front door unlock. Sunwoo steps in with a bucket of fried chicken, taking off his shoes and slipping into the pair of slippers you left by the door. He places the food on your kitchen counter, before walking over to your room and peeking his head inside to see you laying on your bed, not even giving him a glance.
“You know, if it wasn’t me who entered your house and instead it was some crazy serial killer, you absolutely would’ve died.” Sunwoo says, announcing his presence. You finally look away from your phone, giving him a sarcastic laugh before going back to Twitter. He scoffs, walking into your room and snatching your phone out of your hands.
“Hey!”
You open your mouth to argue, only for Sunwoo to interrupt by saying, “Come eat first, I brought chicken.” It promptly shuts you up, and you stand up off your bed, quickly following him into the kitchen.
You let out a squeal once you see the chicken, opening up the container and taking out a piece. You take a bite, and Sunwoo watches you with a knowing grin on his face. You squint your eyes at him, pointing at the chicken to get him to eat as well. He rolls his eyes, grabbing one and taking a bite.
The two of you spend the next half hour finishing up the chicken. With Sunwoo threatening to throw a bone at you, and you sneaking the crispy pieces of his chicken whenever he’s not looking. Once you’re both done though, you sit down on your couch, still a bit of space between the two of you.
You and Sunwoo have been hanging out for a month and a half now, him even having the spare key to your place while you have his. Sometimes he just randomly comes over to do homework on your floor which scares your roommate to death sometimes, while you sneak over to his at night to steal some of his soju when you run out. Other times you both just watch movies together or play video games. You don’t know what you guys are as neither of you have made a move to make it official.
In all honesty, all the two of you have done to progress your relationship is accidentally brush your hands together. Sunwoo’s just waiting to see if your opinion of him has officially changed, while you’re waiting for him to ask you to be his girlfriend as you are too shy to ask him.
“Yn.” You turn your head to look at Sunwoo, eyes glazing over his handsome features. His black hair that’s usually straight is resting in slight waves on his forehead, emphasizing the overall soft look that he has going on today. “Mm?”
“Have you come up with your final opinion?” Sunwoo asks, reaching out and tucking a stray piece of hair that fell over your nose behind your ear. When you look up into his eyes and he sees the sparkle in them, his hand freezes, staying rested on your cheek.
Your eyes slowly trail down at his pink lips, heart rate increasing when his tongue darts out to lick them. Sunwoo stares at you, feeling the tension in the room rise as he watches your eyes move back up from his mouth. His thumb brushes against your cheek, beginning to hear his heartbeat in his ears by how nervous he is.
“Yn.”
“Sunwoo.”
“Can I kiss you?” Sunwoo watches the way your eyes sparkle up at him, finding himself to be the luckiest man in the world to see you like this. You nod your head slowly, letting out a breath, “Yeah.”
Without wasting another second, Sunwoo leans in close and tentatively presses his lips to yours. Your hand reaches up, entangling your fingers into his hair. He pulls away, just to capture your lips again after a second of staring, slowly leaning you back until you’re laying on the couch.
i don’t like her. i don’t like yn. Sunwoo mutters in his brain like a mantra the more he kisses you. His hand lowers to your hip, squeezing it slightly when you tug on his hair again. He hears his heartbeat in his ears, tingles in his stomach when you slightly suck on his bottom lip.
i don’t like her. this is a game. this is for minji.
“Be my girlfriend?” Sunwoo whispers against your lips in between kisses, completely ignoring what the voices in his head are saying. You pull away, looking at him with wide eyes, but his gaze is focused on your pretty swollen lips.
“Did you just?” He glances up into your eyes, and he lets out a small smile. A giggle comes out of you, and you raise a hand to your warm face.
“Yeah, I’ll be your girlfriend, Sunu.” Sunwoo bites his lip as a grin breaks out onto his face, before leaning back down and kissing you breathless again.
if i didn’t like her, then why do i feel like this? why do i wanna kiss her more, why do i only want to kiss her, why do i not want her kissing anyone else like this?
why does it feel like this isn’t just some game anymore?

“You’re crazy.”
“Says the one who tried to duct tape their friend to the wall once.”
“Okay, in my defense,” You stare at Sunwoo from across the table, giving him an amused smile as you wait for him to continue. “Chanhee let me duct tape him to the wall. It was a joint effort, yn.”
You roll your eyes, reaching out and hitting his shoulder lightly, before taking a sip of your boba. Sunwoo smiles at the sparkle in your eyes, taking note that the sunlight hitting your skin is as beautiful as the cherry blossoms blooming in the spring.
It’s been two months since you and Sunwoo have called it official, three and a half months since the day you guys met, and the two of you have become the talk of your guys’ university. Everyone who knows Sunwoo as the guy who never settles, has finally settled. You’re in the limelight as well, girls either being envious or worried for you, and guys nodding their head in approval at Sunwoo’s decision.
“You’re really pretty like this.” Your eyes widen in surprise at the sudden compliment, beginning to feel shy by Sunwoo’s stare. You look down at your boba, small smile taking over your features. “Like what?”
“Happy. You look pretty when you’re happy.” Sunwoo mutters softly, eyes holding an emotion that is indecipherable to you.
But it’s easy to read for Chanhee as he stares at the two of you from across the cafe. He shakes his head in disappointment, knowing that Sunwoo’s going to have to tell you the truth one day. Chanhee watches as Sunwoo reaches out and rests his hand over yours, a happy smile forming on his face when you make a joke.
i haven’t seen him this happy with another girl in a long time, Chanhee thinks to himself, taking one last sip of his boba. He walks over to the front doors, throwing his cup in the trash. He takes one more glance at the two of you, now finding you excitedly telling Sunwoo a story of who knows what while the latter just stares at you with a fond smile on his face.
All Chanhee knows is that you’re happy, and Sunwoo’s happy, but it’s going to be taken away as soon as you find out the truth.
Tumblr media
“Sunwoo, when are you going to end things with yn? It’s been over three months since you two became ‘official’, I’m pretty sure she’s already head over heels for you.” Minji asks from her couch. She blows on her newly painted nails, making sure they dry properly. Chanhee shoots the striped ball into the pocket, taking note of the way Sunwoo visibly stiffens after the question is asked.
“She’s not head over heels.” Sunwoo answers, nodding his head once Chanhee misses the next striped ball. He leans down, getting ready to hit a solid. “Are you sure that’s it? Or have you forgotten our fucking plan?”
Sunwoo pauses, turning his head to look at Minji, only to find her glaring at him. Chanhee lets out a small sigh, pulling out his phone to try and distract himself as the tension in the room rises. Sunwoo rolls his eyes, turning back towards the pool table.
“You’re supposed to make yn fall in love with you and then break her heart so that Mark feels horrible. Did you forget that because you think she’s some good fuck?” Sunwoo slams the pool stick down on the table, actively startling Minji and Chanhee.
“You know that yn hasn’t even mentioned Mark since I first started talking to her? He hasn’t tried to see her either, you know that? It makes me wonder why you even decided to target yn in the first place.” Sunwoo says, turning his head to see Minji’s reaction. He watches as her demeanor shifts slightly, suddenly appearing to look guilty, and he squints at her. Sunwoo pushes off the pool table and walks over to Minji so that he’s standing a few feet from her.
“And don’t you ever degrade yn to just being a good fuck again.” Minji blinks up at Sunwoo, not used to having his anger directed towards her. Her initial shock shortly turns into rage. Laughing, she stands up off the couch to stand her ground. “What a joke, you fucking fell for her didn’t you?”
Sunwoo turns away, clenching his fists as he stares out Minji’s window. Chanhee watches from the pool table, feeling wracked by nerves as he watches his two best friends argue for the first time ever.
“Kim Sunwoo, the man at Seoul National University who was unattainable. The one who was called cold hearted because he’d break the hearts of people left and right, has developed feelings for the pawn in our game.” Minji sneers, now staring at Sunwoo with an amused look on her face. He finally turns and stares directly down into Minji’s eyes, feeling anger flood through him.
“And what about it?” Minji’s mouth drops open slightly, having not expected him to confess. Chanhee stares between the two of them, afraid of the tension rising in the room. “W-What?”
“I’m in love with yn. She’s witty, intelligent, funny, kind, beautiful; if you made a list of all the good traits in the ideal person then that’s yn’s description. I’m not going to play her like that, she’s no longer just a game. And I’m not going to be a pawn in your revenge plot anymore either.” Sunwoo states, before turning around to go and grab his phone. Minji reaches out and grabs his arm, but he doesn’t look back.
“You think she’s going to forgive you when she finds out?”
The room stays silent for a moment, and Minji thinks she’s won from the way Sunwoo’s staring at the floor. Her heartbeat picks up when Sunwoo rips his arm from her grasp, turning to glance at her.
“No, and I hope she won’t ever forgive me when she finds out. Yn deserves someone better than me. Someone who won’t blindly follow their friend and purposefully hurt a girl who didn’t do anything to be involved in this.” Sunwoo states, and Chanhee bites the inside of his cheek, looking down at the floor.
“I’m a horrible, selfish person for what I have done to yn, but I’m going to do at least one thing right and tell yn the truth, myself.” Sunwoo explains, before turning and walking towards the door, raising his hand up to grab the door handle.
“If you walk out that door, we’re no longer friends Sunwoo.” Minji threatens in one last weak attempt to get Sunwoo to stay, feeling afraid that she’s about to lose him. That she no longer has the control she once had over her best friend.
Sunwoo stills for a moment, before grabbing the door handle and ripping the door open, shutting it directly behind him. The slam of the door echoes through the room, a sense of finality settling itself upon Minji and Chanhee.
“Fuck.”
Tumblr media
You hum quietly as you tend to the orchids, finding the blue ones to be incredibly pretty on this sunny day. The sound of the door chime rings throughout the shop, and you turn your head to greet the incoming customer.
“Hi! Welcome to Bloom Bloo-”
“Yn?” Your eyes widen when you recognize your old friend, immediately breaking out into a smile as you stand up at your full height to wave at him.
“Mark! What are you doing here?” You ask as you walk over towards him, and he gives you a grin as he opens his arms and pulls you into his embrace. Your eyes widen slightly at the skinship, having briefly forgotten how Mark shows his love as you tentatively wrap your arms around him, patting his back.
“I came to order a burger and fries, actually.” Mark answers when he pulls away, and you squint at the man, pushing him with your hand as you walk over to the register, listening to him laugh that contagious laugh of his from behind you.
“Haha, so funny.” You say, trying to fight back the smile that’s threatening to break out onto your face. Mark catches it though, and giggles to himself. “Based on the smile you’re fighting, I can see that you hold some truth behind that statement.”
You shake your head, turning back towards your friend and getting a good look at him. His brown hair is parted to the side, showing off his forehead and nice eyebrows. He’s wearing a brown hoodie with a black puffer jacket over it, and you purse your lips, wondering why it seems like he put in a bit more effort into his appearance.
“Are you checking me out, yn?” Mark asks with a teasing grin, and you roll your eyes. You open your mouth to respond, only to pause when you hear a familiar voice ring through the shop.
“You better be talking about a bouquet of flowers.” You and Mark look towards the entrance to see Sunwoo standing there, frown on his face. He squints when he locks eyes with Mark, and the brunette raises an eyebrow when he recognizes the man.
“Sunwoo?”
“Sunu, with how much you come into the shop, you should just apply for a job here.” You joke, watching as Sunwoo’s features immediately soften slightly when he looks over at you. He lets out a small smile, shaking his head at you.
“I wouldn’t be able to bring in as many customers as you, anyways.” Sunwoo tells you, walking over and patting your head over the counter.
You grin, grabbing one of the daisy flower crowns you made in the morning and placing it over Sunwoo’s head. Mark glances between the two of you, and he finds himself squinting at Sunwoo when he remembers his reputation on campus.
“You two are dating?” Mark asks, and you nod your head.
“For a bit over four months now.” Sunwoo adds, feeling his heart thump against his chest as Mark stares at him with a hint of suspicion in his gaze. The brunette simply turns back towards you, and gives you a smile.
“I’m happy for you, yn. You’ve been single for as long as I can remem-” Mark sputters when you spray him with the spray bottle full of water, and Sunwoo bites back the laugh that almost escapes him. Mark wipes his eyes and shoots you a glare, making you giggle a bit.
“Yn! I have a date in an hour, don’t ruin my hair.” Mark whines, and you laugh, “Then don’t boast about how lonely I was!”
A frown forms on Sunwoo’s face as he watches you and Mark begin to discuss the numerous bouquet options he can choose from for his upcoming date. The memory of Minji saying that you were the one Mark was showing interest in plays in his mind, and he bites the inside of his cheek, wondering if that was ever even true.
“Take care of those, I made that bouquet this morning!” You say, breaking Sunwoo out of his thoughts as Mark carefully takes the arrangement of flowers from your grasp. He nods his head, “Careful is my middle name.”
“Yeah, yeah. Have fun on your date!” You tell Mark, and he smiles, nodding his head. It comes to Sunwoo’s surprise when Mark turns to him, gesturing towards the door.
“Can you get the door for me, man?” Sunwoo nods his head, walking over and pushing open the door for him. The brunette smiles, walking through the door, but stopping to quietly mutter,
“I know how your trio used to do things in high school, and I know that Minji was upset when I ended things. I only broke up with her because I learned of the type of people you guys are. This better not be one of your trio’s games, because yn doesn’t deserve that. And if it is, then end it now.”
Sunwoo stands frozen as Mark gives him one more smile and sends a wave towards you, before walking out the door. You tilt your head at your boyfriend, wondering why he looks so guilty as he stares down at the ground.
“Sunwoo? Are you okay?” You ask, seemingly breaking him out of his daze. Sunwoo looks back towards you, giving you a smile as he walks over. “Did Mark say something? He’s always been protective, even when we were younger.”
Sunwoo shakes his head at you, reaching out across the counter and taking ahold of your hand. You raise an eyebrow, watching as Sunwoo cups your hand within both of his.
“What’s on your mind, Sunu?”
“Are you free tomorrow?” Sunwoo asks instead, and you stare at him in silence for a moment. You let out a small giggle, shaking your head and reaching out with your free hand, patting the top of his head, the delicate petal of one of the daisies brushing against your wrist.
“Were you nervous about asking me on a date? That’s so cute, but yes. I should be free tomorrow.” Sunwoo gives you a smile, and you find that it doesn’t really reach his eyes as he stares at you.
“Great. I’ll meet you at the bus stop tomorrow, okay?” Sunwoo asks, and you nod your head, warmth flooding your face as you stare at your boyfriend. Sunwoo bites the inside of his cheek from the stars in your eyes, wondering how he’ll ever be able to tell you the truth. He lets go of your hand after pressing a soft kiss to the back of it, turning and walking towards the doors, but stopping to glance back at you.
“See you, pretty.” Sunwoo tells you, and you smile at the nickname.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, Sunwoo!” He grins, pushing open the glass doors and walking out of the shop.
The smile on his face falls once he’s far from the flower shop, and he takes a deep inhale of the Summer air, the daisy flower crown that’s resting over his head suddenly feeling heavy. He finds that it resembles the weight of his heart as he knows that everything’s about to be broken.
one day. i just want to spend one last day with yn.
Tumblr media
You sit on the bench by the bus stop, waiting for Sunwoo to arrive so that the two of you can go to the aquarium. You unlock your phone to see if there’s a new message from him, only to see no new notifications.
“I know the feeling.” You jump up, turning towards the sudden voice to find a pretty girl standing beside you. Her brown hair falls in waves down her shoulders, and she’s wearing an off the shoulder floral top paired with a beige skirt. You tilt your head to the side, finding her rather familiar.
“Hi yn, I’m Minji. Sunwoo’s friend.” She introduces, and you have to stop yourself from letting out an ohhh because now you recognize her. “Oh, hi Minji.” You reach out and shake her hand, giving her a smile.
“Are you waiting for the bus?” You ask, and she shakes her head, letting out a small laugh. “I drove. In all honesty, I came to pick you up.”
You raise your eyebrows in surprise, having no clue as to where you’d even go since you haven’t met Minji before. She gives you a smile, “Sunwoo told me to come get you because he’s running a bit late due to Chanhee being silly, per usual. He said he’ll come pick you up at my house.”
“He did?”
“You don’t believe me?” You immediately raise your hands up to tell her you didn’t mean to imply that she’s a liar, but Minji stops you right away while giggling at your antics. “I was kidding yn, don’t worry. Now, do you want to come hangout at my house or do you want to wait here by the bus stop?”
You stare at her for a moment, before letting out a small smile. “I think there’s an obvious answer in that question.”
Tumblr media
“Wow! Your house is so nice.” You state as you stare in awe at all the beautiful artworks put on display. Minji waves her hand at you, telling you not to flatter her so much. You follow her up to her room, still looking around with child-like fascination.
damn, this almost makes me feel bad. she’s kinda sweet. Minji thinks to herself as the two of you finally make it up to her room. She places her bag down by her bed, removing the earrings from her ears. You stand shyly by the door, unsure of where to sit, or if you’re even allowed to sit. Minji turns towards you with a grin on her face.
“You can sit over there, yn.” She tells you, pointing over towards the small couch in the corner by her desk. You nod, walking over to go and sit down, only to pause once you see a corkboard laying over the wooden surface.
“I’m going to use the restroom, be right back.” Minji announces, a smile on her face when she sees you staring at the board. She walks out of the room, pulling her phone out of her pocket to call Sunwoo.
“What?” Sunwoo answers as he heads towards the bus stop where you’re waiting. He lets out a soft smile down at the lavender daisies he bought on his way, planning to surprise you with them since they’re your favorite flower. He remembers the small box in his room, a gift he plans to give you after you guys get back from the aquarium. “Just wanted to let you know that you should probably turn around and head over to my house.”
Your hand slowly lifts up the board, tears filling your eyes.
“Why?” Sunwoo pauses when he doesn’t see you sitting at the bench the two of you agreed to meet at. He lowers the flowers once he realizes what Minji means, cursing to himself before turning around and beginning to sprint.
“Have a nice run.” Minji says cheerfully, hanging up the phone and placing it onto the bathroom counter. She smiles, walking into the bathroom to splash water onto her face in an attempt to wash away the small feeling of regret.
You stare at the photos of you taken from your social media, gaze following the red line that lands on different notes with the names of the places you work and hangout at. Your heart shatters as you read the instructions on what to do when Sunwoo meets each new step with you. Your eyes land on the very last note, and it takes everything in you to not crumple onto the floor.
break her heart.
The feeling of wanting to vomit builds up in your throat, the realization that you were just a pawn in their sick game slamming into you like a train. That you fucking fell for it, you fell for him. You drop the board, stepping away from it as if it’s cursed. You quickly leave the room, dashing down the steps and running out the door. Minji watches from upstairs, letting out a sigh once you slam the door shut.
The tears blur your vision as you run off her property, trying to get as far away as you can. You slam straight into a hard chest, stumbling backwards that their hands have to reach out and grasp your arms so that you don’t fall. You wipe away your tears with the back of your hands, opening your mouth to apologize, only to stop when you realize who helped you.
Sunwoo stares back at you, sweat dripping down his face from running, purple daisies on the ground beside him, now missing multiple petals. You rip your arms out of his grasp, feeling a sob bubble up in your chest as the two of you stare at each other in silence.
“Yn, I-”
“Don’t. Just. Stay away from me.” You state, attempting to walk around him, only for him to stop you.
“Yn, please. Let me explain. I can tell you everything, please just-”
“Explain what? That you used me for your revenge plot? That you strung me along for months when I had nothing to do with what happened between Mark and Minji? That you just think of me as some fucking joke?” Sunwoo shakes his head, grasping your arms to try and plead with you. The sob finally breaks out, and you reach up to cover your face. “God, no. Yn, you’re not a joke. You could never be a joke. I never meant for it to get this far. It was all a plan at first but then I got to know you and I fell in l-”
“S-Save it. I don’t want to hear anymore lies.” You mutter, and Sunwoo’s eyes begin to water when you remove his hands from your arms. You stare at him, tears continuing to fall from your eyes as you do so, wondering how you let this happen.
how you let yourself fall for him.
“I-I just wanted one more day. One more day with you, and I was going to tell you everything.” Sunwoo chokes out, hands shaking by his sides as he waits for a response. After a moment of silence, he tentatively reaches up to try and rest his hand on your cheek, “Please, yn. Let me explain-”
“How come I have to get punished just because I love you?”
Sunwoo pauses, staring into your pained eyes as his hand slowly lowers back down to his side. The sparkle that he was so used to, now replaced with the glassiness from your tears. You wipe away the wetness on your cheeks, realizing you confessed that you love him for the first time.
How unfortunate.
With that, you turn around and walk away from him, not looking back. Sunwoo watches your figure shrink until you’re out of sight, and he drops to his knees, tears finally streaming down his face. He rests his face onto his arm, crying loudly as his heart completely shatters from what he ruined. While Minji watches from her gate, gulping down the feeling of guilt as she stares at her best friend experiencing heartbreak for the first time.
Tumblr media
“I hope you’re eating well and taking care of yourself. I-” Sunwoo says into the phone as he stares up at his ceiling. Chanhee stares at him from his doorway, feeling sad for his best friend. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.” Sunwoo mutters, ending the call before the voicemail can catch the sound of him crying. He places his phone beside him, covering his face with his hands to try and muffle his sobs.
It’s been three weeks since you found out the truth, and Sunwoo’s been calling you everyday since then. He’s refused to leave his room unless it’s to use the restroom or grab food. Other than that, he rots in his bed all day, the feeling of regret and resentment towards himself flooding his veins.
That and soju, lots of soju.
“Sunu, do you want me to bring in the dinner I made?” Chanhee asks, and Sunwoo doesn’t answer, turning over in bed and covering his face with a pillow instead. “You need to eat.”
Sunwoo just curls up even more, closing his eyes as more tears escape. Chanhee lets out a small sigh, walking out to go and grab the food anyways. He lifts up the tray, carefully stepping back into Sunwoo’s room and placing it on his desk.
“It’s there if you need it.” Chanhee says softly, before closing the door.
While you, you’ve also been laying in bed for the past three weeks. Currently you’re listening to the last voicemail Sunwoo left you, crying as you hear his voice shake towards the end when he apologizes. You turn over, clutching your pillow tightly against your chest as you sob. Your roommate looks at your closed door, concern written all over their features as they hear your loud cries.
You haven’t been to work as you called in sick. Your manager understands, having heard from your roommate that you’re not in the best mental state. All you’ve done is eat, sleep, and sit in the shower for hours at a time, just letting the water run over you.
While Sunwoo has hurt you deeply, you can’t help but miss him. You yearn to hear out his side, try and be understanding, try again, but then you remind yourself that you were just a game.
just a game.
Tumblr media
“Hi, is yn home?” Your roommate points towards your room. “Be careful though, she hasn’t really left her room for the past month.”
Chanhee gives her an understanding nod, knowing that Sunwoo’s doing the same thing. He slips off his shoes, before walking over to your door and knocking softly on the surface. You turn your head, muttering for them to come in, expecting your roommate. Your eyes widen when the door opens and you recognize Chanhee, Sunwoo’s best friend. You sit up, clutching the pillow tightly.
“What are you doing here?” Chanhee tentatively reaches his hands out, handing you a bag. You raise an eyebrow, taking it from him and looking inside. You let out a breath when you see a jewelry box. You lift it out of the bag, slowly opening it and biting back another sob when you lay eyes on the necklace.
“He was going to give it to you the day you guys were supposed to go to the aquarium, as a way to tell you he loves you, and that he’s sorry.” Chanhee explains, and you stare at the way the light reflects against the daisy pendant of the necklace.
“I know you might not want to hear this at all, but I’ve never seen Sunwoo pine after someone, let alone fall in love with one. Yet, I saw both of those things happen with you.” You slowly look up at Chanhee, who’s giving you a small, hopeful smile. “I know what he did was shitty, I tried to stop them from including you in the plan in general. I just, I’ve seen how you’ve changed him for the better. I know Sunwoo, and I know that he really regrets what he did. He wouldn’t be calling and texting you everyday if he didn’t. He doesn’t even text me, honestly.”
You look at the necklace, feeling sad, but somehow a bit better, more reassured. You glance back up at Chanhee, giving him a nod. “Thank you Chanhee.”
He gives you a smile, “Of course. Anything for your guys’ happiness.”

It’s been a month and a half since everything happened, and you’re finally leaving your room. It’s not much in your eyes, but your roommate was ecstatic about it, even though it’s just a trip to the convenience store. It’s also quite literally two am, but they said, any outside air is good air! You trudge over in your grey sweats and oversized black sweater, lifting up your glasses to rub your eye with the back of your hand.
Once you’re at the convenience store, you head straight towards the ramyun, grabbing the eight pack and walking out of the aisle. You step over to the register, pulling out your card to pay for it. The chime of the door opening grabs your attention, and you tiredly look up, only to freeze when you lock eyes with Sunwoo.
He doesn’t look any better, bags prominent under his eyes, black t-shirt hanging loosely on his shoulders. However, you still see him as the most handsome guy you’ve ever seen. Shock is evident on his features as he stares at you, unsure of what to do. Sunwoo’s eyes trail down when something flickers at him, seeing the daisy pendant glimmer back at him from the light. He opens his mouth to say something, only for you to turn back towards the cashier once they hand you the bag of ramyun and your receipt.
Sunwoo clenches his fist, walking over towards the aisle where the soju is. You let out a shaky sigh, turning your head to look at his retreating figure, debating on following after him. After a moment, you shake your head, choosing to walk out of the store sadly.
Sunwoo stares at the box of soju for a moment after hearing the bells, signaling you left the store. He bites the inside of his cheek, having an internal battle with himself.
What if she doesn’t even wanna talk to me? She hasn’t answered my calls or texts for the last month and a half, that means she hates me.
I have no chance, she’ll never forgive me.
She shouldn’t forgive me for what I did.
I miss her.
Fuck.
Sunwoo immediately turns around and runs towards the door, forcefully shoving it open and feeling the cool night air hit him. He’s about to rush in the direction of your house, but immediately stops when he sees you waiting right there, sitting on the steps, your bag of ramyun placed beside you. You slowly turn your head, looking up at Sunwoo.
“Yn.”
“Sunwoo.”
The two of you stare in silence again, and you break it by patting the empty space beside you.
“I don’t think anyone will come to the shop in awhile, it’s literally two am.” You say, and Sunwoo lets out a breathless chuckle. He takes another step before sitting down beside you, and that’s when you both fall into another silence. Except this time it’s more comforting, being with each other after yearning for so long but knowing it was best to stay away.
“You look like shit.” You state, effectively breaking the silence, and Sunwoo glances at you, a grin gracing his features. He turns away, shaking his head and looking up towards the stars. “I know.”
You follow suit, staring up at the stars as well. A small smile appears on your face after a moment, and you turn your head to look at Sunwoo, only to realize he’s already staring at you. He lets out a content sigh, finding the stars slowly making their way back into your eyes. You turn away once you feel the warmth rush up to your cheeks, choosing to look at the parked car in front of the two of you. He looks back up towards the stars, trying to find which one shines the brightest.
Sunwoo comes to the conclusion that you shine brighter than the billions of stars in the sky as he does so.
“I’m sorry.” Sunwoo says after a moment, the sound of resentment present in his voice, and you let out a breath.
“I know.”
The two of you sit in silence, staring at your surroundings. A tear slips past your eye, and you wipe it away with your sweater paw. You wrap your arms around your knees, hugging them close to your chest as you stare at the empty road.
“I missed you, Sunwoo.” Sunwoo harshly bites the inside of his cheek, tears falling past his eyes as he continues to stare up at the night sky.
“I missed you too, yn.”
You let out a shaky breath after a moment, before leaning over and resting your head on Sunwoo’s shoulder. He freezes slightly at the contact, but relaxes. After a moment, he lays his head over yours, and that’s when you both know you’ll be okay.
we’ll be okay.

Restaurant Guy
Part 1 of their relationship
Once our kids reached their teens my wife's days began to free up and she had more opportunity to cheat. Once they were grown and on their own she not only had more opportunity, while I was at work she didn't have to worry about anyone unexpectedly walking in on her should she let something happen at home. So, weekdays were wide open for cheating fun.
One weekend after we'd gone to the local Sam's and were back home my wife told me she'd gotten hit on after we'd separated for a few minutes to look at things in different parts of the store. A middle aged Hispanic man had approached her and told her how sexy she looked, and that he hoped her husband knew how lucky he was. She thanked him and he told her he owned a couple Mexican restaurants in town and invited her to drop by for lunch some time when she was out shopping....on the house.
She had told me about being hit on before because she found it flattering and I think she wanted me to know there were guys out there still interested in order to keep me on my toes. What I didn't know until years later was that every time she told me about being hit on, it was because she was actually interested in the guy and ended up fucking him. This time as it turns out, was no exception. She told me she wasn't going to go of course, but she had appreciated the interest and the invitation.
She did go. About two weeks later she was in town shopping while I was at work and on impulse decided to stop by one of his restaurants. She told herself if he wasn't there, that would be that, she'd have lunch and move on. If he was, she'd let things play out and see what happened. He was there. She didn't even have to ask for him because he saw her come in, recognized her, and personally guided her to a table. He told her to enjoy lunch and stick around until the rush was over and he'd come by later to talk.
While my wife patiently waited for the crowds to clear he started having martinis, her drink of choice, sent to her table. By the time he finally did sit down to talk she was pretty much at the 3 martini line: 2 martinis under the table, 3 martinis under the host. He asked where her husband was and she told him I was at work. After chatting awhile he told her he didn't think she was in any shape to drive and said he thought it would be best if he drove her home in her car and had one of his employees follow to take him back to the restaurant.
When they got to our place there was no sign of an employee following and he told her his ride back got delayed by a problem at the restaurant and would be there shortly. He told her “let me make sure you get settled ok and I'll call and get him to hurry up. Once inside he said “you're home safe now, let me pour you another drink. My ride should be her soon and I'll be on my way.” She told him where to find the liquor and he sat down beside her on the living room sofa, handing her another martini.
He told her he was glad she decided to take him up on his lunch offer and drop by the restaurant. The door is always open to you he said, any time you're out and about and decide to get lunch just drop by, and if I'm not there, ask the waitress to have someone call me. My wife was wearing the same short dress as in the photo at the top of the story and he told her she was looking especially lovely. Then he leaned over, wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pulled her toward him to kiss her.
He kissed her and she pulled away saying “I can't. I don't know why I stopped for lunch, I didn't mean for anything like this to happen.” “It's just some harmless kissing,” he responded, pulling her closer and kissing her again. “You have such luscious full lips, I wanted to kiss you that day in Sams.”
“Oh God,” she said quickly weakening and dismissing her previous lie, “I wanted that too.”
She wrapped her arms around him and pulled him on top of her, kissing him back. “So tell me why you came to the restaurant,” he demanded, “you had to know this is why I invited you, is this how you imagined it would go?”
“I didn't really know what would happen,” she said, “but I guess this is how I hoped it would go.” Restaurant guy, RG...she never has told me his name....lay atop her on our sofa, kissing her deeply, as he worked a hand up under her dress between her legs and found her sopping wet married cunt soaking through the crotch of her pantyhose. He rubbed her clitoris as they made out and her hands searched for and found his belt, unbuckled it, pulled down his zipper, and with some difficultly extracted his large thick rock hard cock.
“I've thought about this for the last two weeks,” he told her, “I was beginning to think it was never going to happen. I was so glad to finally see you in the restaurant today. I didn't just want to kiss you two weeks ago in the store, I wanted to take your hand and pull you out into the parking lot and fuck you right there in my truck. But I wanted to take my time doing it and it didn't seem practical with your husband there with you.”
“Fuck me, make love to me,” purred my wife, opening her legs wide around him and welcoming him inside her. RG reached down and tore open the crotch of her pantyhose, and stroked his cock briefly up and down her slit, pausing before plunging into her and asked: “fuck you or make love to you, which is it,” to which she replied “both, I want both, I want you to fuck me and make love to me.”
“Beg me to fuck you,” he told her, “I want to hear you beg for my cock.” “Please, please, please fuck me, I'm begging, please give it to me.” “So, to be clear,” he asked with his cock still hovering outside her married pussy, pressing ever so slightly against her cunt lips, “you want to cheat on the man you love while he's working to support you?” And my wife said, “oh my god yes, I want to cheat on him, I want you to please, please fuck me.”
RG slowly pushed his cock into my wife, feeling her cunt walls stretch around it,”you're pretty tight for a mom,” he told her. “You're just big,” she replied. “God it feels so good, I needed this cock, you should have just dragged me out of Sam's that day and taken me.”
As RG slowly fucked her she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled his head down to kiss him again. Tongue found tongue and their mouths locked. They melted into each other and became just one two backed creature of unbridled lust, a monster of love, building to the glorious climax of sexual betrayal and adulterous pleasure. An afternoon of lovemaking with a man she barely knew. A sweet, wonderful, fulfilling betrayal of her love and marriage vows, pure beautiful ecstasy that cannot be indulged and enjoyed any other way.
In an afternoon of passion RG flooded my wife's unprotected womb with load after load of hot cum, time after time, until he lay fully spent and empty, his shriveling cock making its last slow exit from my wife's sloppy cunt, the cuckoo clock on our living room wall signaling its ironic warning of my impending arrival. The lovers finally gathered their senses and RG slipped away, now a passenger in an nondescript black SUV that registered no recognition on the husband headed home to his loving wife after a long day at work.
For RG and my wife it was just the beginning of a sexual adventure and the kind of afternoon that would be repeated regularly, week after week, for more than a year, with RG, and not just RG, inside my wife more often in that single year than I had been for the previous ten or even twenty.

Your parents owned a local bakery store
All the recipes were from your late grandmother
You spent almost all of your time there because you were in charge of everything
The store was under your parents’ name but you were the one running it
Sometimes, you even slept there because it’d be too late to walk home
Your dedication to the bakery made it successful
Although, you were the one doing all the work, you parents took all the credit and money
They weren’t paying you because you’re their child
They don’t need to pay you
“It’s a women’s place.” Your father said
You wanted to go back to school however, your parents laughed in your face
“School aren’t for girls, Y/N. Learn how to cook and clean. That’s all you need to know. Let the men handle everything else.”
You were tired of fighting with them and eventually stopped because they threatened to set you up in an arrange marriage
Now, it was just you and the bakery
You had many loyal customers and recently, one has been coming everyday, at the same time
He’d always buy a loaf of banana bread and if he was in a good mood, a blueberry muffin as well
Then, he’d sit in the corner table and eat two - three slices before getting up and leaving
He’d always leave a tip behind and you always kept it for yourself
One day, he didn’t come and you were surprised
For a year straight, he came and bought the same two things
Now, he hasn’t visited in 4 days
Tonight, you came back home for the first time in a while
Your parents had visited the bakery to collect “their” earnings and told you that you have to go somewhere with them that evening
After closing up and cleaning up, you went home and got ready
Your parents were taking you out for dinner as a treat for all your hard work
You were really excited because they were finally acknowledging your hard work
Once you arrived at the restaurant, your parents lead you to a table that already had three people seated
You immediately recognize one of them
It’s that guy who buys your banana loaf!
You sat in front of him while your parents greeted the two other strangers
“Oh, so this is your daughter? She’s gorgeous! Come here and give me a hug.”
You awkwardly chuckled and got up to hug the middle aged women
“Oh! Where are my manners? My name is Jeon F/N, this is my husband, Jeon F/N and this is our son, Jeon Jungkook. We’re your soon to be in laws!”
You heart dropped to the floor
“I-in laws?” You asked, confused
“Yeah, honey. Is this your first time hearing about this? We’ve been talking to your parents for a while now.”
You snapped your head towards you parents and they looked emotionless
“No, no they didn’t tell me anything.”
Dinner with them was hell
Your parents were talking about your wedding arrangements right in front of you
You didn’t know what to do
You wanted to rebel but then your parents would disown you
Just like that, you’d be homeless with little money to survive
In the end, you’d be paying the heavy price
You looked at Jungkook who was staring at you the whole time
You wondered if he knew about this
Maybe, that’s why he came to the bakery everyday
“Did you know anything about this?” You said loud enough for him to hear
“I did.”
“For how long?”
“Since last year.”
You eyes widen, in shock
You were right!
“Why didn’t you stop it?”
“Why would I stop it when I’m the one who wants it?”
You scrunch your eyebrows, in confusion
“What’re you talking about?”
“Since the first day I met you, I wanted to marry you. I told my parents and now, we’re getting married.”
Now, you were mad
You got up and stormed off, catching everyone’s attention
You walked to the bakery and locked yourself in
Here, you thought your parents were acknowledging you for first time, when they were actually setting you up for a marriage so they don’t have to take care of you
You cried yourself to sleep that night
The next couple of weeks, the bakery was closed due to your wedding
The wedding was spectacular
You would’ve love it if you weren’t being forced into a marriage
After the wedding, Jungkook took your precious virginity
He made sure to pleasure you until you passed out
He was so in love with you
Now, he was finally able to show you how much he loved you
And mark you as his
The next couple of months, he was attached to you
He took over his family’s business and you took over your family’s business
He’d visit you every day at work to check if you’re with another man
He was so paranoid about it, sometimes he’d come by 3 or 4 times to make sure you were not cheating
You thought he missed you and that’s why he kept stopping by (which is half true) however, you had no idea that he was possessive and controlling
You had to learn the hard way
Sometimes, you wouldn’t leave work until midnight
You had so much things to do like preparing for the next day, making a to-do list, making a grocery lists, and cleaning every area of the shop
It’s time consuming, so obviously you finish up pretty late
Jungkook absolutely hates that
Although you stay late in the shop once in a while, he can’t stand it
He wants you to be in his arms every night
Jungkook gets angry when you’re not
This was your fourth time staying out late in the shop and he’s had enough
He couldn’t help but feel paranoid about what you were actually doing in the shop
What if you lied and went on a date with another man?
What if you were running away from him?
Or even worse, what if you were having sex with another guy?
He raced to the bakery and banged on the door, which scared you
You saw that it was him and let him in
“W-what’s wrong?! You scared me!”
“Grab your stuff, we’re going home.”
“But I’m not done yet! I only have a couple more things to do and then I’ll come home. I told you already-”
“I don’t think you fucking heard me!” He yelled and grabbed your hair
“Grab your shit, we are leaving right now.”
He pushed you towards the counter and crossed his arms
You let your breath out in shock but scurry to get your stuff
You’ve never seen him like this and it terrified you
“I have my stuff.”
“Good, let’s go.”
He helped you lock the door and wrapped his arm around your waist
The walk home was silent
You were scared shitless
All you wanted to do was run back into your parents’ house
But he didn’t let you move an inch away from him
Once you got home, he started pushing you around and arguing some more
“Jungkook, I told you this afternoon when you came to visit! I said I have to stay late so I don’t have to stress myself out in the morning!”
“Don’t fucking lie to me! Who were you fucking seeing?!” He screamed, frightening you more
“No one! I swear, no one!” You whimpered
He corned you into your shared room and locked the door
“Jungkook, I swear! Nothing happened!”
He didn’t believe a single word coming out of your mouth
It was like you were talking to a wall
He pushed you onto the bed and stripped you naked
Jungkook pushed two fingers into your cunt and pretended to scoop out cum
“If nothing happened, why is your cunt full of cum?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about! I didn’t have sex with anyone!”
You weren’t very educated about sex, so Jungkook had an advantage
You began apologizing even though you didn’t have sex with anyone
You just wanted peace between you two
“I’m sorry! I didn’t cheat or anything, but I’m sorry if it hurt you! I really am!”
Jungkook slapped you and spat on your face
“Dirty slut. Telling me that you’re not cheating but still apologizing.”
“No! Please, I didn’t do anything!”
Jungkook pulled his cock out and shoved it in without warning
You were still new to sex so when he didn’t let you adjust, you automatically started screaming and crying
“Please, slower!” You cried, holding onto his biceps as he went faster and deeper
“Stop! Please!”
Jungkook loved the sound of his balls clapping against your ass
It honestly made him harder
All night, he was on top, fucking you hard
Your legs were spread apart, tears in your eyes and sweat dripping down your forehead
You looked like a hot mess
And he loved every second of it
“Mmh- Jungkook!”
You squirted around him and had a trembling orgasm
You couldn’t stop releasing your liquids on him and he couldn’t stop pounding you
The bed sheet was soaked by the end of it
He pushed his cock deep inside and came
After Jungkook fell asleep, you cried for while
How were you supposed to tolerate him for the rest of your life?
The next morning
You woke up in severe pain
You lower region was begging for some pain relief
But there was nothing you could do about it
Jungkook was still sleeping next to you
You decided to leave before he wakes up
After getting ready by leaning on everything, you slowly walked to town
When you arrived at the bakery, you saw a big “for sale” sign
You panicked and went inside the store, only to be greeted by your parents
“Mother, father! Why is there a “for sale” sign on the bakery?”
You parents looked at each other in disappointment
“You see, we have to explain the obvious to your daughter. Be grateful that someone willingly married your idiot daughter.” Your father said before walking out
His words did hurt but you cared about the bakery more than your father
“Why’re you selling it, mother? Can you not afford it anymore? Why-”
“Shut up, Y/N! You’re married now, you have wifely duties. You don’t have time for this bakery so the best option is to sell it.”
Your world fell apart right before your eyes
“But mother-”
“Save it. You already made your father upset. I’m warning you now, you don’t want to get on my bad side.”
You cried the whole morning
After you opened the bakery, lots of people gathered in line
All breads, cakes and muffins were going on sale
After you served the people in line, you went up to the tables and took their order
After you served them, a regular customer who was sitting alone gestured you to come over
You went over to the man and asked him if he needed anything
He told you to take a seat and accompany him
Since the crowd died down, you sat down in front of him
“You look a bit stressed and sad. What’s on your mind?”
You were touched by his words
Finally, someone cared about you
You told him you were upset about the bakery closing
He understood and even offered money to help you keep it open
You were flattered but didn’t accept the money
“Money’s not a problem, my parents just don’t want to keep this shop open.”
You talked with this guy for a couple of hours
Although this was your first time talking to him, you talked to him like he was your best friend
When closing time came around, he got up and asked you out on a date
You didn’t know what to do
You were married but you really liked this guy
You were considering saying yes when someone pulled his shoulder back and punched him across the face
“Jungkook! What the hell is wrong with you?!”
“You think I didn’t see that?! I saw it all. I saw you flirting with my wife for three hours straight and then asking her out on a date!”
Jungkook beat the crap out of the guy and pushed him outside
He then came back in the store, looking at you with devil eyes
“Yesterday’s punishment clearly wasn’t enough.”
The entire way home, he was yelling at you, slapping you, spitting on you, pulling your hair, pushing you to the ground and choking you
You were crying the whole time, apologizing over and over
When you arrived home, he seriously had no mercy on you
No foreplay, no lube, no adjusting
Just a raw, thick cock being forced into you
You were begging him to let you go but tonight, nothing was going to stop him
He was moving his hips insanely fast, not giving you enough time to breathe
You were choking on your own sobs
“Jungkook, please no! I’m sorry!”
“Why did you hesitate to deny his offer? You are a married fucking women!” With each word a hard thrust followed, knocking all the air out of you
“Answer me! Is he better than me? Does he take care of you? Does he provide money for you? TELL ME!” He was yelling so loudly, it was making you cry harder
“N-no, he doesn’t. He was just the first person to care about me.” You whispered the last sentence but, Jungkook was able to make it out
“Are you saying that I don’t care about you?”
He got more aggressive and fastened his pace
“Tell me, Y/N! Do you think that I don’t care about you?!”
You couldn’t answer him because you couldn’t catch your breath
He was going too fast and you were crying so hard, you couldn’t breathe
Jungkook noticed how much you were struggling and added onto your struggle by holding your neck down
“Apologize, right now Jeon Y/N!”
You softly apologize but it wasn’t good enough for him
He lifted your legs a little, giving him better access and fucked you till you squirted
This time you sobbed your apology and begged for forgiveness
“I’m so sorry, Jungkook! It’ll never— ah! It’ll never happen again! I’m so sorry! Please for- forgive me for my dumb m-mistake. Please! I’m begging you.” You held onto the bed sheet, praying he would stop
He huskily growled and pushed his cock in deep
“For the next 9 months you’ll be swelling with my baby. Now, everyone can back off.”
He shot his hot cum right into you, filling you up to the rim
Sorry for any mistakes. It’s 3:41am 😄

congratulations on 2k, sweetheart! you truly deserve with your amazing works!
i was wondering if you can do a pair your life with kojiro from sk8🥺 i’m a sucker for domestic bliss. especially during the honeymoon period 😌 he would be a goofball for a husband and smother you with love in the morning (after he basically smothered you in your sleep. he’s a big man)
you can put smut or just make it pure fluff if you want!
again! congratulations on 2k sweetheart!
A/N: Thank you so much, I’ll put in both ;) I hope I’ve captured the right idea here!
Warnings; smut; riding; language; slight dirty talk (?); just for a scene but everything else is fluff; all characters are over 18+
Please enjoy~🍰

“Morning sugar~“ you hear whispers in your ear in the early morning. Only you were practically under a boulder of a man, other known as your husband. You both have recently gotten married about a month ago. You honeymoon was a week long on this beautiful resort. You both were still a bit in the honeymoon, especially Kojiro. Although in his words he says
“Have to have a full balanced meal every morning and night.“ and that went for both you and him.
“Mmmm what time is it?“ you asked stretching out your limbs from their stiff positions.
“Uhh, 6:30 am“ he said, you wanted to sleep more but he was basically fully awake now. You sat up and yawned your sleep away, you turn to him and smile sleepily. His large arms come to wrap around you to bring you to straddle his hips “mmmm so pretty” he said with lidded eyes
You play with his seaweed bangs while his hands skim your thighs. You were in your panties and his t shirt, his favorite thing on you. Last night was one of those long but lustful ones.
“You know,“ he said catching your attention “We still have time until the shop opens up“ he raised a brow. Yes, you both worked at his restaurant, you were a waitress and he cooked of course. Some customers have tried to pick you up only for Kojiro to come out and kiss your cheek. Just a little something to get the message across.
“Mhm, what are you thinking?” you tease
“Well,” without effort he pulls your panties to the side and smiles “I need a little energy boost before I start the day, don’t you think?”  he had that look in is eyes
“I’m still tired tho..” you whine in protest just to see where he goes with it
“Don’t sweat it sugar, I’ll do the all work” and truth be told he actually liked doing it too. Sure you liked to treat him every now and then but he was the dominant type. Moving his boxers down slightly his cock springs up, intertwining his fingers with yours you bring your hips up. Aligning yourselves you lower down slowly.  As said before, he’s a big man, and somethings were just bigger than most people.
“You good there?“ he asks
“Mhm“ you nod as you start to rock your hips “mmm“ you sigh rolling your head. Maybe this was a good way to wake up in the morning. Looking down at your husband you sometimes think of all the women that crowd and fling themselves to him. Ugh, you loath how they did it even when you were there. However, it was moment like these that reminded you, he was yours.
He was your husband
He came home to you
He was the one who made love to you.
No one else, and that fact made you smile as pride filled your chest. He knew that look and smirked as he made a buck with his hips. His large hands grip your hips as he bucks upward. The bed creaking bellow your combined weight
“Mmmm Jiro~“ you call his nickname “right there! Fuck! Harder!“ your brows knit together as you could feel your high coming soon
“Yeah baby? Need a harder pounding?“ just as promised he held on to you and bucked you into the stars. After a short but passionate session you both get into the shower. You just adored how he washed and massaged your scalp. He’d leave little kisses here and there while he washed and rinsed your back. You both actually love to dress each other, Kojiro does this silly thing where he narrates everything
“And now she slips on her blouse to button them up. If only she could leave about 2 open for me to see.“
“Kojiro!“ you gently punch him.
At around 8 am you both were ready, fed and off to work. Some of the other store owners called you two, the perfect couple. Married at a good age, work together and you two were just so cute together. You’d open up the shop and start prepping the foods. One of his favorite sights was you in his element. He was an amazing chef and one of his favorite things was when you cooked with him. For whatever reason the meal just tasted better when you helped him.
He actually met you here, you had ordered something and he honestly couldn’t stop looking at you. In fact he almost burned the food daydreaming, which rarely happens. By the time you finished with you meal he gave you your receipt with his number and a note
“Paid for! Enjoy your day beautiful“ you rolled your eyes at first. Just another flirtatious guy you suppose. However you flip it over and see a longer note
“I genuinely think you’re stunning and would love to take you out on a nice date“ followed by his phone number at the bottom. You ended up texting him and the rest was history. Now you were married, worked together and your life with him was happy. While you were dicing up some veggies and other ingredients he started on things such as soups and breads that can be served as small sides.
“’Scuse me my wife“ he said coming behind you to reach into a high cupboard pushing himself against your ass. He thought he was slick
“I know what you’re doing Jiro” you giggle pushing him back with you butt
“I have no idea what you’re implying my lady“ he teasing booping your nose with his finger moving back to his spot. The jiggle of the bells from your front door went off. Meaning it the was the first customer of the day
“That’s my cue.“ you grabbed your small notebook and pen and off you went. Meanwhile he stayed to cook sighing as he watched you leave. Listen thing may be all fun and games with you both but he really did love and cherish you with every fiber of his being. After a year of dating he knew he wanted you by his side until his dying breath. Of course like every couple you’ve had your rough patches along with your good ones. At one beef some girl wouldn’t get off him no matter how many times she was told.
You had told him “I’m not going to fight for you if you’re not willing to fight for us.”
He almost lost you that night, luckily he had caught up to you. Ironically it was raining and he stopped you in the middle of the road. You each pour your heart out and he slipped the proposal along the lines of
“I don’t want anyone else but you!“ he still upset that he wasn’t as strong back then but it was in the past. Looking over his shoulder he saw you greeting a family. The woman who had changed him and his life, you were smart, funny, gorgeous, dedicated and just down right perfect for him.
This entire day was all he wanted in life. To wake up to you everyday, make love to you and even start a family with you. Of course you and him still go to beefs together only this time he wore his ring proudly on his necklace. At the end of the day he loved to just relax on the couch with your feet in his lap. He massaged the sore soles of your feet while a cheesy rom-com played on the tv.
“Kojiro..” you called his attention making him look your way
“Yeah?”
You hum “mm nothing...just love you is all” you smile. Letting go of your feet he crawls between you legs to rest his head on your chest. His arms encircling your waste as he resting comfortably. Your fingers caress his locs as you smile softly. This was bliss, just here in this moment with him
“mm your heart sounds nice“ he sighed snuggling into you “can we just stay here? Forever?“
“Forever? What about cooking and skating?“
“I love those things but“ he looked up at you “you’re much better. Better for kisses and cuddling..and other things“
“Oh god“ you chuckle
“What? I was going to say company“ he scrunched his nose at you with a smile
“Oh Jiro, never change please.“
“Only if you don’t, my perfect wife~“

I hope this was okay!❤️

Episode 22
“Hello, I am NCT Mark and I am 22 years old,” a smile adorns his lips as the boy next to you bow at the camera.
“Hello, I am Mark’s wife, Y/N, and I am 21 years old,” you greet, bowing politely at the camera.
“This is the first time we have very young guests coming to our show,” one of them said.
“I think many fans are wondering why you had gotten married at such a young age?” one asked.
Another continued, “yeah, I don’t think it’s common in Korea,” they said, “I heard that Mark used to live in Canada for some time, is it common to get married at such a young age, there?”
Mark chuckles, shaking his head, “No, no, we both decided to get married young because we have always talked about spending our 20s together.”
“How long have the both of you been married?”
Mark looks at you before answering, “We got married just a few months ago, actually.”
“To be exact, it has been about 4 months now,” you continued.
“How long did you guys date?”
“We dated for about 3 years, before we both decided that we wanted to get married straight away,” your husband answers.
“Wait, 3 years? But the news of you guys dating came out a year ago, though?”
“We dated secretly~” Mark replied shyly.
“You guys are the youngest couple to be on our show, has anyone been opposed to the idea of you guys getting married at such a young age?”
Your hand lands on your husbands shoulders, “to start, of course we received a lot of hate comments online when the news came out, but we knew this was what we wanted, so we never really doubted for a second.”
Mark agrees with your words, “yeah, our parents were also a little skeptical by our plans but we were adults and had explained clearly why we wanted to get married at such a young age.”
You hum along with Mark’s words.
“Tell us honestly, was it hard dating someone when you are one of the biggest boy group in Korea?” one of them asked Mark.
Mark though for a moment, he wasn’t sure if he should spill out the truth or just butter everything up. “Well, of course it was. I knew what I was getting into and so did Y/N,” he says, “and as expected we knew that if we get caught, there would be tons of comments about us.”
“How did you overcome the mean comments?”
“Of course, we had both shared tears because of those comments, but we promised to never leave each other because of what others think.”
The scene started with the both of you eating breakfast at the dinner table.
The casts of We Got Married started laughing at the sight of Mark’s bed head.
“You know, we really need to go grocery shopping,” you tell your husband who was sitting before you.
He hums, “we’ll go this afternoon, I need to get some things too,”
You swallow your food, “what things, babe?”
“Doyoungie’s birthday is just around the corner, and I wanna bake him a cake,” he tells you.
You squint your eyes at the boy, “bake? Are you sure you won’t burn down our kitchen?”
He rolls his eyes at your words, “I’m a grown up, babe, I definitely know how to bake,”
“Didn’t Mark went trending for a while when he cooked eggs?” the members laugh.
“I remember that!”
.•° ✿ °•.
The scene changed to the both of you in the grocery store. You were searching for ingredients that you had written down in your phone.
You would often forget items, so before you leave the house, you would type down all the things you would need in your phone.
Mark on the other hand, would get food on impulse- mostly snacks and instant food. You don’t mind, but space is limited, every time your husband joins you, he would overspend and in the end, you wouldn’t have space to keep all the extra food.
“Baby, you know we don’t need all these,” you sigh tiredly, your hand gesturing to the different types of chips laying in the cart. “Just pick one, honey, we can’t have everything from the store,” you say exasperatedly.
Mark pouts at you but quickly removes most of the chips until there was 2 left. You decided to close an eye since you saw one of the new chips that you had been dying to try out.
“Have you gotten the ingredients for the cake?”
Mark raises his eyebrows at your words, his hands digging through the pile of food in the cart before pulling out a box of cake mix.
Episode 27
“Let’s welcome the couple who has received good remarks after coming to our show!” one of them said, followed by a series of claps.
“Wah~ I really did not expect to receive so much nice comments,” Mark says with his hands placed on his chest, “Thank you so much everyone, y/n and I spent the whole night reading all of your comments.”
“Actually, I’m curious,” one of them quickly adds in, “how did the baking go for your member’s birthday?”
“I ended up burning the cake, so Y/N helped me from scratch,” he says sheepishly.
The casts laugh in unison.
“Did Doyoung know?”
Mark shakes his head, “I lied and told him that I was the one who made the cake, but he didn’t believed me, so I ended up telling him the truth,” Mark says, flustered.
The scene started with the both of you walking in the park. Strings of coos left the casts lips when they saw you wearing a dress with your hair braided to one side.
With squinted eyes, the both of you tried to find a good shaded spot in the park before putting down a disposable picnic mat, placing each of your shoes on each corner to prevent it from flying around.
You place the picnic basket in the middle of the mat while Mark took a seat, enjoying the view. You took out all the food that you had prepared a few hours prior.
“Do you need help, babe?” you hear your husband ask from beside you.
You shake your head, “I’m good,”
After you had settled all the food down, you finally let your legs stretch before you, leaning your head on your husband’s shoulder.
Mark’s hand that was previously resting on the plastic picnic mat, finds yours, lacing his fingers with you, “this is nice isn’t it?”
You nod, letting out a satisfied hum. You point towards his phone, “I think you have some songs prepared for this particular moment, am I right?”
“Oh, Mark do you actually have multiple playlists for different occasion?” one of the cast asks.
Mark nods sheepishly, “I think it just became a habit of mine,”
“I’m not surprised though- he is in the music industry after all, I think it is pretty common, right?”
“I suppose so? It just doesn’t feel right to me if the music doesn’t match with the vibes.”
Mark reaches out for his phone, clicking on a particular playlist called ‘when the sun’s out’. Soon, the first song started playing softly in the background.
A content sigh leaves your lips, “you know, if I had to choose one thing I’m grateful for you, it has to be your taste in music,” you tell him, quickly pressing your lips against his cheeks softly.
Mark turns red at your gesture, his hand clutching yours tighter.
“Now I’m curious, what is your favourite song at the moment,” one of them asks, turning to face Mark.
“I really like Justin Bieber a lot,” he answers, “But right now, I can’t stop listening to Good Days by SZA.”
An hour has past by, most of the food already gobbled up by you two.
“Babe,” Mark calls, poking you on the arm.
“Hm?”
“Aren’t you tired?” he asks you, “you woke up super early to make food.”
A soft smile spreads across your lips, “a little, why?”
Your husband softly pats his lap, “come lie down and nap a little. The wind feels really good right now,”
You cleaned everything up and made space for yourself. You comfortably laid your head on Mark’s lap.
“You know,” you started, “I really wish I could look at you right now, but the sun’s too bright.”
Mark rolls his eyes, “don’t be annoying and go to sleep,” he says, his finger softly flicking your cheek.
A soft laughter left you before you finally shut your eyes, dozing off quietly while laying in your lover’s lap.
Once Mark realises that you were asleep, he quietly raises his hands to cover your face from the sun.
“Awww! You are such a romantic, Mark!”
When you realise the bright light was gone, you open an eye to look at your lover who was looking at his phone, with his hand still high up to cover you from the bright sun.
A smirk adorns your lips, your eyes shutting close. You grab his hands, startling your husband. Lacing your fingers with his, you bring them down to your chest.
“I don’t want your arms to be in pain,” you mumble, stroking his hands with your thumb.
You hear Mark scoff at your statement, “I think I can handle it, babe. But, whatever you say.”
A few moments later, you feel his sculpted hands playing with your hair. He would occasionally massage your scalp or tangle your hair between his fingers.
You didn’t say a word, feeling comfortable.
The episode ended with Mark pressing a long kiss on your forehead, before pulling away.
“This couple is too cute!”
“It’s really unfair that Im still single, this couple makes me want to get married so bad!” one of them agrees.
Episode 35
“After a long time, the couple is finally back again for another episode!” the cast says excitedly, “the last time they were here, the couple went on a romantic picnic date, leaving us all with envy!”
Mark laughs at their comment.
The scene started with the both of you entering the SM building. You had a cap and a mask on, hopefully to cover your identity from the fans waiting outside.
Although the news of you guys being a married couple had came out a few months ago, there were times where you did not feel like getting your pictures taken. Which, to be honest, was a rare moment for you and Mark since he is one of the biggest boy group.
You held onto your husband’s hands who was leading the way to the practice room.
Once he finds an available room, Mark quickly puts his things down on an empty table.
“Okay, so first we need to do some stretching so we don’t hurt ourselves when we dance later,” Mark tells you.
“Why did you want to dance?”
“To be honest, I really hate working out,” you tell them truthfully, “so I asked Mark if he could teach me some dance choreography,”
“Are you good at dancing?”
You laugh, “absolutely not! I have never danced in my life, so this is my first time.”
“She’s too adorable!”
“Babe, can we do something super easy?” you request, taking off your cap since it was covering your vision.
Your husband nods, “yeah, we’re gonna do Kick It today.”
You wince at that. Kick It is the easiest he could think of? You didn’t say anything, following whatever your husband says.
“Okay, so, we won’t do like- the whole choreography,” your husband enunciate. Just as you were about to let out a relieved sigh, Mark continues, “we’ll do from the first chorus onwards.”
Your mouth went wide.
The casts laugh at your reaction.
“Okay, so the chorus kinda goes like this-” he shows you, looking at you through the mirror, “you know it right? you’ve done it before,”
You were at a loss of words, “I mean- I guess? But it’s not perfect so you still have to teach me!” you whine.
Why is he going so fast? you though to yourself.
“Okay, okay,” he chuckles.
For the next few hours, Mark teaches you the choreography step by step.
Your husband was standing behind you, his hands resting on yours, positioning your hands at the right position.
However, you ruined the romantic moment by stepping away from the male and turning to face him with furrowed eyebrows.
The casts let out a series of grumbled sighs.
“Why did Y/N step out? It was such a romantic moment!”
“Exactly!” the other adds on.
“Can we please take a break?” you whine, wiping the sweat that was rolling down your forehead, “I’m so tired,” you huff out, throwing yourself at your husband as he captures you in his arms.
Mark chuckles, agreeing. He grabs your hand, pulling you to sit down on the empty chair. He quickly runs to the other side of the room to grab two bottles of water, opening one of them and passing it to you.
He opens one for himself before gulping half of the bottle down his throat.
After you had gulped the whole bottle down, you tried to catch your breath. “I didn’t know it would be this tiring,” you confess, “is this what you go through everyday?”
The boy chuckles, “yeah, but a shorter period.”
You roll your eyes at his statement, “Okay, show-off,” you joke.
Meanwhile, in the background, Kick It was playing on repeat. An idea pop in your head.
“Wanna know something?” you asked your boyfriend.
He nods.
“I’ve been practicing your rap part of this song,” you tell him, “I can rap your part word for word without any mistakes,” you say arrogantly, a smirk forming on your lips.
“Oh yeah?” he challenges, “my part is coming up, I would love to see you try, babe.”
You stand up from your sitting position with your bottle of water in hand. Getting ready for the verse, you bring your hand that was holding the bottle to your mouth- pretending it was a mic.
“I’m really excited to see Y/N rap,”
“Me too, she seems so confident,” the other adds on.
When the verse started playing, you rapped your husband’s part.
Mark started laughing hysterically when you started mumbling random words. “Dude!” your husband laughs, his hand slapping his knee multiple times when you rap incoherently.
His laughter only ceased when the music stopped. “Oh my god,” he says breathlessly, his fingers wiping the tears from his eyes. “I think you should replace me in NCT,” he jokes.
Just as you were about to reply, you heard a group come in. You turn around swiftly, your eyes widening when you see the familiar girls walk in.
“Oh, oh,” Wendy cheers, “what’s the couple doing in the practice room alone?”
“Oh my god, is that Red Velvet?” one of them asks, looking over at Mark with widened eyes.
Mark laughs and nods his head.
“Oh.. perhaps, you could ask them for their autograph the next time you see them,” they ask sheepishly, “my bias is Seulgi,” they quickly add on.
Mark laughs harder at that, “sure, if I see them around, I’ll make sure to ask for their autograph,”
“Oh hello,” you greet the girls, they bow politely back at you.
Your husband chuckles awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck as he greets the girls. “I’m just practicing with Y/N”
Mark never got the chance to properly meet them in private- it was either with his members or never. Hence, he felt a little nervous seeing them in private.
Irene raises her eyebrows, “are you guys performing for something?” she asks, pointing at the both of you.
You shake your head, “I just wanted to learn for fun,”
Wendy nods, “are you guys going to practice some more?” she asks, looking at the both you expectantly, “cause’, if you guys want to, go ahead. Our choreographer is going to be late so we have time to spare.”
Mark checks the time on his watch before shaking his head, realising it was already pretty late and didn’t want to disturb the girls with their schedule.
“No, it’s fine, we have to go anyway. I don’t want to steal your hour,” he says politely.
Ever since Mark had debut years ago, it was very hard for this group to book the practice room. So, whenever they managed to get the room, they would often use the room until the next person comes in.
You and Mark start packing up your things as the girls settle down and starts stretching.
The girls bid the both of you goodbyes as you quickly left the room.
“Oh my god,” you gasped, your hands clutching onto your husband’s arm as he looks at you in astonishment. “I just met Red Velvet,” you say to the boy next to you.
You hit his arm multiple times, “I literally met Red Velvet! I even talked to them, babe!” you squealed, hitting his arms harder. That was until Mark grabbed your hands for you to stop hitting his poor arm.
“Y/N hasn’t met Red Velvet?” they ask. Mark shakes his head, no. “Why not?”
“I knew she liked Red Velvet but she never really asked me if she could meet them,” Mark explains, “and we had this conversation before- meeting the other people in my company,”
“What about?”
“Y/N told me that she didn’t want to take advantage of my privilege, even though when I told her it was fine,” Mark explains. “So she never really asked about wanting to meet Red Velvet, or any of the other people in my company.”
“Jeez- babe,” he chuckles, putting your hand down and instead wrapping his arm around your shoulder, tugging you closer to him. “You were never that excited when you see me,” he jokes.
The both of you reach the ground floor, stepping out of the elevator.
“That’s because you’re not the prettiest girl group in the world!” you reply cheekily, a smirk playing on your lips.
“How long have you been a fan of Red Velvet?”
You hum, thinking back all the years you have been listening to their songs and collecting their PC Cards.
“I think it was a few months after debut?” you doubtfully reply. “It was when I had just came to Korea for school and one of their music was playing in a store, and I really liked it!”
Episode 43
“Ah, our Mark Lee! Where did you go?” the cast whined, tugging on his arms.
Mark cackle shyly, hiding his face slightly, “I’ve been very busy these days~” he says shyly, “my group had just finished promoting our recent full album,” he explains.
The casts cheers.
“I heard you guys won first for many awards!” one of them says, “congratulations to NCT! As expected, our talented group with many talents and visuals,” they compliment.
“Thank you,” Mark gives his signature grin, “actually, I felt bad for not being able to come on here for so long, so I actually brought our albums to gift it to you guys,” Mark says, reaching for the stacks of albums in the bag.
He hands each one of them the signed and personalised albums to the casts.
“I can’t wait to listen to this!”
“Is Y/N featuring in any of the songs?” they joke.
This time, the show started with you in the kitchen. You were cooking dinner since some of his members were coming over.
Mark on the other hand was sitting in the living room. He was seated on the floor, with papers spread all over the table. He had one of his hand holding a pen, swirling it around, while the other was pressed against his cheek.
“I wanted to produce a song with my own lyrics for this upcoming album,” Mark explains to the cast since they seemed to be a little confused.
“Have you produced a song with your own lyrics before?”
He nods, “I have, but I received help from others. This time I want to make a song that only has my own lyrics,” Mark explains.
“I never really got to ask an idol this question- but, is it hard to have your songs to be featured in an album?” one of them asks.
The spotlight was on Mark.
Mark nods, “it really depends. They usually focus on the music itself- since lyrics can be changed, but if the lyrics are too personal, most of the time they don’t really let you put it in a group album.”
“Did your song manage to be in the album?” one asks.
“Nope,” mark chuckles.
The casts laughs with Mark.
“Because it was too personal?”
Mark simply shrugs, and points at the screen to continue watching.
A heavy sigh leaves past the boy’s lips. He was staring blankly at the piece of paper.
The camera manages to capture everything that was written on the piece of paper. Messy scribbles was the only thing that could be seen.
“Babe,” you called. Mark quickly looks up at you, a pout on his lips. “Make sure you clean the table before the guys come,” you tell him, pointing to the mess on the coffee table.
This morning, Johnny had contacted Mark saying that he misses him and wants to visit. You quickly agreed, since you haven’t seen the boys in so long.
He hums, slamming his head softly on the coffee table, a groan coming out of him when he hit his forehead a little too hard.
A small chuckle left your lips when you heard his groans, “inspiration will come, babe,” you advise as you wipe the plates, “be patient.”
Mark turns his head so his cheek was pressed against the table as he stares at you.
“You look so pretty,” Mark mumbles, but you hear him clearly.
“Does Mark compliment you often?”
You nod slightly, “I wouldn’t say, all the time,” you exaggerate, “but it was definitely enough for me to know he loves me,” you giggle.
Mark continues to stare at you as you work on the food you were making. He was so deeply in love with you that sometimes he wonders what life would be like if he never met you.
He lays his eyes on you for the next 15 minutes. It definitely didn’t go unnoticed by you- but you had forgotten about it once you were properly focused on cutting the onions.
With heart eyes, a sweet smile spreads across your husbands lips.
The casts all coo at the romantic scene.
Mark finally sits up straight. With a grin plastered on his face, he grabs a clean sheet of paper and starts writing his feelings down. Surprisingly, he didn’t need a break, he continued writing for the next 30 minutes, satisfied with the lyrics.
“Did you write a song about Y/N?”
Mark nods, “I did, it was mostly how I felt about being with her.”
“Earlier you said that the song didn’t manage to be in the album, will you be posting the song on another platform?”
Mark scratches his head, uncertain, “I’ll have to ask my company about that,” he jokes.
Episode 47
“We’re finally back with our favourite couple! How are you, Mark?”
“Just fine, I’m preparing some things with my group, so I have been a little busy now a days,” Mark replies.
The casts sighs, “you’ve been working really hard, Mark.”
Mark simply chuckles awkwardly, unsure of what to say.
The show started with you sitting on the familiar chair in the building.
“Oh? The chair seems familiar?”
You had one of your legs crossed over the other with your right hand, holding your phone. You were scrolling through Instagram, hoping it would lessen your boredom.
After a few minutes, you put your phone down when you realised you’ve been scrolling for minutes now, but nothing had caught your eye on your feed. You let out an exhausted sigh, resting the palm of your hand against your cheek.
15 minutes later, your eyes widen when you see the familiar boys step out of the elevator.
You quickly stand up, walking up to the boys.
“Y/N!” they called, “oh my god, it has been forever since I last saw you!”
You giggle. Your eyes search for your husband but he was no where to be seen.
“He’s still upstairs, talking to the producer,” Johnny says when he notices you looking around.
You send him a smile, “I see. Are you guys going back home now?”
The rest of the boys were already walking away after tapping your shoulder to bid you goodbye without interrupting your conversation with Johnny.
“Jungwoo and Yuta are going to get dinner, the rest of us are heading home- it has been a long day, we’re all exhausted,” Johnny says dramatically.
The boy never fails to make you smile, “I know, Mark told me about your schedule.”
Johnny smiles, “also, Mark had a rough day,” he tells you. Your eyebrows raised in curiosity. You wondered what had happen.
“Did you know that Johnny had told Y/N about your day?”
He shakes his head, “I didn’t know, but I am thankful for him for always looking out for me.”
It was only 30 minutes later when you saw your husband step out of the elevator. Instead of his usual jog, he was stomping towards your direction. With the way he was walking and the all black outfit- it made him look even more intimidating then he already was.
Johnny was right, he definitely had a bad day today.
“Hi, baby,” you say softly, when he finally stands in front of you. You softly rub his arm, hoping it would calm him down a little, “you okay?”
Mark only hums, tugging on his bag when you attempt to take it from him. “i’ll carry it,” he says. You kept quiet, not wanting to worsen his temper.
The both of you quietly walk out of the building.
“Can we take a walk?” you ask, looking up at your husband.
He looks down at you and raises his eyebrows. Truthfully, he was already exhausted, but he would do anything you wanted. Mark shrugs, going with the flow.
The both of you started your walk in silence. Your husband had both hands tucked in his pockets with his lips pursed. You took multiple glances at the boy, wondering how you should comfort him.
After hesitating for a while, you wait until he has his hands out of his pockets. When you notice that he finally has his warm hands untucked, you instantly grab it in yours.
A smile form on your lips, when you hold on tightly onto his hands.
“Aw, she was trying to comfort you!”
“Wanna talk about it?” you speak up, tightening your grip on his hands.
Mark smiles, “not really, just thankful that I have you,” he says. You feel his thumb softly stroke the back of your hand, “you’re too good to me, Y/N.”
You scoff, “what do you mean? You are literally my soulmate, whenever you fall, I go down with you,” you reassure him. You nudge his shoulder with yours, “I’ll always be the shoulder you can lean on. No matter how bad it is, I’ll always be by your side.”
“How do you usually comfort Mark during his bad days?”
“He doesn’t talk about his feelings often,” you say, letting out a short chuckle. “But it’s pretty obvious, he isn’t very discreet with his emotions,” you laugh, nudging the boy next to you.
“Depending on how bad it is, I would try to leave him alone until he calls out for me.”
“Why won’t you talk about how you feel?”
“I have always grown up with this mindset- never give off negative energy to anyone who hasn’t done anything wrong,” he blurts out. “I feel like a burden whenever I would talk about my problems to anyone- not just Y/N.”
“I feel very thankful whenever he talks about his problems,” you say to the camera. “I feel proud that I am the one he could lean on.”
Episode 50
“Mark Lee is back!”
Series of claps could be heard from the room.
“I heard you had received multiple awards from MAMA!”
Another agrees, “that’s right! NCT won Favourite Male Group and Worldwide Fans' Choice Top 10! Congratulations to NCT!”
Another series of claps filled the room.
“Thank you so much! My group wouldn’t have received the award without all the loving support from all my fans,” Mark expresses his gratitude.
The show started with you sitting on the couch comfortably. You were deeply concentrated on watching something in front of you.
“What is she watching?”
The camera zooms out until the casts takes notice the television planted on the wall. The casts recognizes the ceremony playing on the television.
You were waiting for your husband’s group to start performing so you can take videos and pictures.
After watching the ceremony, you recognize the introduction to one of your husband’s songs. You sit up straight in excitement, fishing out your phone, ready to film his performance.
You had purposely took bad photos of your husband so you could laugh at them later with him.
15 minutes later, the performance ended. Even though you’re backstage, you still softly clapped at the end of his performance.
“Everytime I see Mark perform, I feel so shocked that we have such a talented guy on our show,” one of them says, making Mark chuckle.
“He was born to be a star,” another comments.
After a few more performances by other groups, it was time for the award ceremony.
You were extremely anxious for this. You hoped all the times that Mark had came home in the middle of the night only to leave again early in the morning or how he would injure himself but would still perform with full energy for his fans would be worth it.
You bit your lip anxiously, your palms had turned sweaty from the long wait of the awaited name.
“The Best Male Group of 2020 goes to...” the announcer trails off, opening the card that held the winner.
“Congratulations to BTS for being the Best Male Group of the year!”
You let out a huff, throwing your head back tiredly.
“You seemed really stressed,”
You nod, agreeing with them, “truthfully, I have seen Mark work really hard this year. It pained me to see him suffer so much and not being able to tell anyone.”
“Next, let’s see the nominated groups for Favourite Male Group!” says the announcer. The screen fills with different groups with their names.
You take a deep breath, sitting up again to watch the ceremony. Your lips purse in concentration.
“The Favourite Male Group of 2020 goes to...” the announcer trails off, opening the golden card.
A smile forms on their lips, “Congratulations to NCT for being the Favourite Male Group of 2020!”
You let out a gasp, looking at the stylists who was also watching the ceremony.
“Oh my god!” you squeal, “they said NCT, right? I didn’t hear it wrongly, right?” you ask everyone in the room.
The stylists nods, “its NCT!”
Your hand goes over your mouth in shock.
“Her reaction is so adorable,”
You watch the boys walk up on stage. Taeyong is the one to step forward to give his speech, followed by Johnny in english.
Finally your husband steps up.
“Wow,” he starts, his fans starts to scream louder. “this is so crazy. I want to start by thanking Lee Sooman for giving me the opportunity to be part of NCT. Next, thank you to our stylist and coordinator for the awesome outfits- we would never be able to win this award without the unique outfits and make up!”
He takes a deep breathe, “and of course, our dearest fans. Thank you for always supporting us, and giving us the opportunity to be on stage with this award,” he smiles when he hears his fans cheers. “Lastly, my wife who has always been by my side even during my ugliest side. Thank you for never giving up on me always bringing the best out of me.”
A grin forms on your lips, you soon became flustered from the coos coming from around you.
“I can’t wait to meet our little one soon. I love you, Y/N. Thank you,” he ends his speech, stepping off stage.
“Wait! What do you mean little one?!”
“I have been pregnant for 15 weeks now,” you say happily. “We have been trying for a baby for a while now, and we are officially having a kid soon!”
The whole casts starts freaking out.
“Why didn’t you tell us?!” they scolded Mark.
“We would like to ask the fans for the upmost support,” Mark adds. “With that, this would be our last episode as a We Got Married Couple.”
“This is a huge surprise!”
“We had so much memories on the show,” Mark admits.
“I had such a fun time on here, but for now, Mark and I had agreed that we want to put all of our focus on our baby,” you added.
“Wow... this is a happy ending,” the casts says.
“We would like to thank Mark Lee and Y/N for their contribution to the show,” they added.
“We really enjoyed watching you and Y/N being cute!”
“Thank you so much,” Mark bow, “it was an honour to come on this show,” Mark says, “I had so much fun, thank you so much for everything.”
“Thank you so much Mark. We hope you have a wonderful journey from now on and congratulations to your first child!”

________
“I appreciate you two coming shopping with me,” said Alan as he stared at the flour section of the grocery store, Jensen off in the deli section getting some fresh meat for the grill. “Would you mind getting two bags for me?”
“No problem,” you said, bending down to get some. You sat them in the cart and walked down the aisle with him as he tossed in some yeast. “Are you gonna make your own hamburger rolls?”
“No, Jensen’ll get some from the bakery. My wife likes to make bread and send the kids home with a fresh loaf or two whenever they visit.”
“By kids you mean Jensen,” you said with a smile.
“Well, the other two are close by. They still get it. He liked it a lot after the accident. Couldn’t keep much down the first two weeks aside from bread and rolls,” he said.
“Why’s that?”
“Something about trauma, grief and a major leg surgery not being a good combo the doctor told us,” he said as Jensen came up the aisle with his own cart.
“Hamburgers. Hotdogs. Oh and steaks for me and Y/N,” he said, smiling at his dad.
“You really gonna milk last night for all it’s worth, aren’t ya,” he said.
“Relax. It’s salmon,” said Jensen with a smirk, his dad groaning. “So yes. You’re gonna eat your fish and stay away from the red meat today and maybe we can start letting last night go.”
“You’re blackmailing me.”
“Blackmailing you would be saying you’re gonna start taking your cholesterol medication everyday,” said Jensen. His dad opened his mouth and Jensen crossed his arms. “Dad. You’re old. Take the medicine. Please.”
“Old. I run three miles every morning. Three,” he said.
“Daddy. Take your medicine.”
“What else do you want?” he sighed. Jensen smirked and walked down the aisle, pointing to the left. “No.”
“Yes.”
“No!”
“One time offer. We will never discuss last night ever again if and only if, you get me what is owed to me.”
“This is a grocery store?” you asked, Jensen chuckling. He ran back to grab your hand, pulling you away towards the bakery.
“Boom,” he said, showing off a massive, massive cookie about the size of two sheet cakes.
“Jensen that’s like two hundred dollars,” you said.
“Eighth birthday. I remember being promised a particular cake from this particular store for my birthday if I got a A’s on every single one of my spelling tests all second grade long and guess who kept up his end of the deal,” said Jensen, crossing his arms.
“Spell optometry,” you said.
“O, p, t, o, m, i-”
“Etry,” you said, his dad walking over.
“Well I think I’ll buy the cake for the one that can spell after all,” he said. Jensen’s jaw dropped and he pouted. “Should you tell him or should I?”
“Jensen that cake behind you says Happy Birthday JJ.” He spun around and looked at the cake, cocking his head. “The one next to it says For Mrs. Rodeux’s best speller. Better late than never.”
“Oh. You...got me a cake,” he said.
“I called them first thing to get the second one done. You think I don’t know you kid?” chuckled his dad. Jensen looked at you and narrowed his eyes. “You don’t have to share it. It can go home with you.”
“Yes!” he said, doing a fist pump.
“Yeah, figured that’d win you over,” said his dad with a big smile.
“He really likes cookie cake huh,” you said.
“Just don’t let him eat too much at once or he gets sick.”
“I will do my best.”
Later That Evening
“Where’d Daddy go?” asked Zeppelin as you watched him take a bath back home in Austin. You were starting to get him comfortable with at least somewhat washing himself but for the most part he was still too interested in playing.
“I think he went to the bathroom downstairs,” you said, glancing at the clock on the wall. “You want to get in some warm jammies and have a bedtime story?”
“Not particularly,” he said. You got off the bench and squatted down next to the tub, ruffling his damp hair.
“How about we dry you off at least,” you said as you felt the water, a little cooler than you would have liked. “Come on. Time for jammies and bed.”
“No thank you,” he said.
“Hm. Well that sucks considering...well, you know…” you said. He turned his attention away from his boat and stared up at you. “Don’t you know?”
“No. What?” he asked as he got to his feet.
“You don’t know?” you said, his head shaking. “You gotta dry off and get in your pajamas then so we can go see.”
“See what Y/N?” he asked, climbing out of the tub with your help and picking up his towel. You helped him dry off and handed him his shirt and a pair of pull ups. “Y/N…”
“It’s in your room,” you said, never seeing him change faster as you drained the tub. He ran out the second his shorts were on and down the hall to his room, opening the door. He looked up at you and you nodded to his bed. He climbed on top and and you went over to his bookshelf, picking up the stuffed animal. “You know Wolf Wolfington?”
“Yeah,” he said, kneeling up in bed.
“You know how he’s your favorite?” you said, walking over with the animal behind your back. He nodded and you smiled, pulling the toy out. “I thought you might like him.”
“Wolfington!” he said, giving the stuffed thing a squeeze. “This is awesome!”
“I talked to Wolfington you see and he really wants you to get a bedtime story,” you said. “A really quick one even.”
“Okay,” he said, climbing under the covers with his new toy and his favorite blanket. Ten minutes later he was passed out and you put his book back on the shelf, hitting his light off and nightlight on. You skirted out of the room and shut the door. After cleaning up the bathroom, you wandered downstairs and found Jensen on the back balcony.
“Hey,” you said as you opened the back door. You slid it shut behind you, Jensen looking out over the yard. “Feel alright?”
“Mhm,” he hummed. You stood beside him, Jensen shifting behind you, wrapping his arms around your shoulders. He rested his chin on your shoulder and you smiled.
“S’nice night,” you said.
“Yeah,” he said quietly. You took his hand and turned back towards inside.
“Meet me on the trampoline in five,” you said. He smirked and headed down the stairs while you gathered up a few items. He was bouncing up and down by the time you got out there, a bottle of whiskey in one hand and a container in the other.
“Well this looks promising,” he said, plopping down on his bottom. You set the items down and stepped inside, sliding the container over to him. He popped off the lid and grinned. “You cut up my cookie cake for me.”
“Only if you share,” you said. You cracked the peel off the bottle and took a swig, mouth burning but the taste was good. You handed it to him and took out a piece of cake for yourself, Jensen smirking as he threw back a good two shots. He shook himself out and put the cap back on, taking a big bite of his cake and moaning. He lay back with his head in your lap, smiling up at you.
“I’m gonna keep you,” he said, smirking and taking another bite.
“I’ll make you a deal. You catch me, you can keep me,” you said, leaning down and pecking a kiss to his nose. He wrapped his arms over his head and around your waist, leaving his cookie on his chest. “No silly. You’re supposed to wait until I’m ready.”
“Oh, my mistake, miss,” he said, popping the last of his piece in his mouth. You took a few more of yours and wiped off your hands, Jensen sitting up just in time to tackle you back on the net, making you both along with the bottle and container bounce. “You’re not very good at this.”
“You don’t play fair,” you said, Jensen smirking before he plopped down on top of you. “Jensen.”
“See that’s twice I’ve caught you. I think you should honestly give up now and accept your fate with me forever.”
“Oh no! The cookie cake!” you said. He sat up and spun around, giving you a chance to crawl out from under him and over to the other side of the trampoline. “Sucker.”
“That you’re just gonna have to pay for,” he said. He jumped and bounced over to you, missing you as you rolled away. You giggled and went to stand but he was already right there and picking you up. “What to do with a troublemaker like you?”
“Drink, eat way too much dessert and look at the stars?” you asked.
“Cuddling is non-negotiable,” he said.
“I suppose I can live with that,” you sighed dramatically. He grinned and started to bounce lightly, your arms going around him. “Don’t drop me.”
“Never,” he said, jumping up high with you, your arms squeezing him tight. He laughed and did it again before setting you down. He held up a finger and jogged back to the house, ducking inside and returning with a blanket. He handed it to you and you laid it out on the trampoline, Jensen laying back beside you.
“Just so we’re clear,” you said, taking a sip from the bottle while he got out another piece of cake and trading with you, “I totally let you catch me.”
“Gonna play it that way are we?” he chuckled.
“Yup,” you said, Jensen turning and resting his head back on your stomach. You played with his hair, his eyes closing briefly while he chewed. He stared up at the dark sky, humming to himself. “I can tell you’re better than this morning.”
“Yeah. I know this chick. She has a knack for making everything better,” he said. You ran your fingers through his strands, taking a deep breath. “Did you know I make music on occasion?”
“The guy with guitars and records and music stuff all over his house? No, never,” you laughed. He reached a hand up and ruffled your head.
“I’m serious, like I’ve recorded in a studio. I have an album,” he said.
“Really?” you asked. “You’ve never told me that.”
“I lost the mood for it a while back. It might be coming back,” he said. He was quiet and you twirled a piece of his hair, Jensen smiling and nuzzling back against you.
“Where’d you go during kiddos bath?” you asked.
“Mom had it handled,” he said. You took a bite of your cookie and felt him pull your hand in his hair down to his chest. “Was that okay?”
“Yeah,” you said quietly. You finished off your cookie and he reached into the container for another. “Plane.”
“Where?” he asked.
“Kinda to the left,” you said.
“I think I missed it.” You felt his gaze on you and you turned your head, green eyes looking back. “They get two moms is all. It’s no big deal.”
“They don’t have to call me that,” you said.
“I know.” He went back to looking at the sky, a few stars out in the clear night. “You know I heard from this chick, same one as before and all, that adoptive moms are kinda the shit.”
You sat up and his head wound up in your lap.
“You want that?” you asked.
“Eventually, yeah. After the wedding and everything,” he said. “Speaking of which, and I know a lot of women have their vision and all that but I was thinking maybe you’d be interested in something smaller? You don’t strike me as the let’s have a huge thing kind of person.”
“You want me to adopt the kids?” you asked again. He nodded and sat up, moving an arm around your back.
“If you don’t want to, that’s okay,” he said, your head shaking. “What is it?”
“I don’t...want to overstep and…” you said. He smiled and reached into his pocket, pulling out a piece of paper.
“We have permission from the beyond it turns out,” he said. He held it out to you and you swallowed. “She wrote me a letter a few years back after the twins were born. I found it in my desk drawer last fall. I finally read it after we got home tonight.”
“Jensen, I can’t. This isn’t for me.”
“Well if you don’t read it, I’m gonna tell you what it says anyways.”
“This is yours,” you said, pushing the paper back towards his chest. “She was talking to you. This was meant for you and only you.”
“Actually you’re wrong,” he said, putting it in your hand. “Some of the letter was for me but this page? This page I haven’t read because it’s not addressed to me. It’s for you and I need you to read it because this is the last of her voice I ever get from her for a really long time so I need you to read it and tell me what it says.”
You shut your eyes and took a deep breath before unfolding the sheet.
To The Next One,
I hope there is a next one. Like seriously. I’m telling you upfront that I was the one that did the asking out, not him. He’s shy and I swear Jensen if you’re reading this I’m kicking your ass the second I see you again.
“She’s funny,” you said, biting your bottom lip.
So. Next person he falls in love with. Here’s the deal. I got some contingencies for you and him getting together. Technically I have no say. Technically I can guilt trip from beyond the grave though so, you know, I win. But if you are the person he loves, tell him that you love him. He bottles shit up and shoves it down. He pretends he’s fine and he’ll take on the weight of the goddamn world with a smile cause he’s good like that. But he hurts and you’ve probably seen him cry as much as I have at this point. You can only be that good and kind and loving when you got a lot of love jammed in there.
So I imagine he was pretty fucked up after I bit the big one. Probably put on a brave face and powered through. But you know that. Do me a favor and put that boy in his place. Tell him to go cry or watch The Notebook. He says he hates it but it’s what he watches when he needs to cry. You know what else? Encourage that shit more. He’s getting there, really he is. He is the least toxic man on the planet. But you know, try to help him diffuse or something? I used to give him lavender bubble bath and he was all, no way and then next thing I know, he’s taking his bubble bath on a stressful day. Pay attention to that stuff I guess is what I’m saying.
Another thing. Presuming he’s not the most handsome geriatic man there could be when you’re reading this, have a fucking kid with him. Have two if you want, or more. Adopt the three that we made. Or adopt if you can’t. It’s fun and he is so good with a baby. He was walking around with Arrow earlier cooing at her and that’s the most adorable shit I’ve ever seen in my life and you deserve to see it too.
He’s special. Normally I’d never agree to sharing him but if you’re the person he gave this letter to, I’ll make an exception for you like I’m sure you had to make an exception for me. Make him happy and the kids. Let them make you happy. Maybe in another life we can catch up over a drink, figure out how to share there too.
And just between us, don’t stop acting like kids in love for the first time. He won’t and you shouldn’t either.
See you around The Next One.
Dee
P.S. His blue henley is the softest thing on earth. He hides it in his gray suitcase. Steal it or I swear we can’t be friends.
“Y/N?” asked Jesen as you folded up the paper. You smiled and put it in your pocket. “What’d it say?”
“I don’t think it was meant for your eyes,” you said, planting your hands behind you and leaning back. “But she’d like us to do everything we’d like. Also found out a few things I’m gonna have to keep a secret.”
“Oh really?” he said, smirking at you. “Like what?”
“I think that’s between us girls,” you said, laying back on the trampoline. “We are going to share you though so I think you’ll like that.”
“You’re really not gonna tell me?” he chuckled. “After all that?”
“She loves you a lot. I mean a lot Jensen. Pretty much it’s her asking me to take care of you guys and some little ways to do that,” you said. He nodded and lay back, smiling to himself. “Do you-”
“No. If I change my mind I’ll just ask to see it,” he said.
“Why’d you finally read the letter she had today of all days?”
“I was ready, after my parents and how you acted. I’m not letting her go or moving on so much as...I want my first girl to love my second girl and I’m pretty sure you two would care about each other, for me and the kids sakes.”
“Well I gotta love her. I happen to know the location of a certain...shirt I’m supposed to steal,” you said. He turned his head and his jaw dropped.
“She told you about the blue henley! No, it’s so soft!”
“I was instructed to steal it so I’m afraid I must make this sacrifice for Dee. It’s really the only respectable thing to do.”
“You two are somehow still managing to gang up on me,” he said with a laugh. “Oh my God. I don’t know if I can handle an afterlife with the both of you.”
“Yeah but threesomes on the reg,” you said. He let out a deep laugh, running a hand over his face while you giggled. “Sorry. That was so inappropriate.”
“No, no that’s Dee for ya. She would be more than down,” he chuckled. “Yeah, she’d like you a lot.”
“We both have excellent taste in men,” you said, reaching for the container of cookie. There was one piece left and you held it out, Jensen leaning up to take a bite.
“That’s not the whole thing right?”
“Jensen it was the size of a sheet cake. This is like, a fifth of that,” you said.
“Good cause as you can see, I have no cutoff when it comes to this stuff.” He took another bite and you put the rest in your mouth, his eyes narrowing. He pecked a kiss to your lips and pulled you to lay back with him. “I have a fun idea for tomorrow while the kids are at school and daycare.”
“Lay in bed naked and drink coffee?”
“That is an excellent idea we will be touching upon Tuesday morning. However, it seems to me that my fiance is missing something,” he said, lacing his fingers with your left hand.
“You want to go pick out an engagement ring?”
“Hm, I think you’ll just have to trust me on this one,” he said.
“Okey dokie.” You turned onto your side and curled up beside him. The air was warm and comfortable, Jensen stretching out. “Love you.”
“Love you too, honey.”
You woke up to the sound of birds, Jensen groaning beside you. The air felt different and opening your eyes told you exactly why.
“Howdy neighbors,” said Jared. You bolted up and turned on your bottom, Jared chuckling while Jensen grunted again. He pulled you down to lay and Jared laughed. “Stopped by to get the keys to your jet skis when I saw those three inside eating cereal out of the box and watching cartoons.”
“See? They can fend for themselves,” mumbled Jensen. He sat up and brought you with him before rubbing his eyes. Jared walked over to the entrance of the trampoline and smirked. “Shut up.”
“What’d you two crazy kids get up to last night?” he asked.
“Nothing,” said Jensen.
“There is a half drunk liquor bottle and you both smell like whiskey and chocolate.”
“It was cookie cake,” you said. “I think we accidentally fell asleep out here.”
“The trampoline don’t make a half bed mattress,” said Jensen. You crawled out of the entrance, Jared holding the bottle and empty container when you handed them off to him. Jensen followed after as you stretched out. “What time is it?”
“A little after eight,” he said.
“Shit. JJ’s late for school,” he said, Jared shaking his head. “Ah, thank you.”
“Gen took her and the boys. I dropped the twins off at daycare after I came out here and made sure you were both alive,” he said.
“I thought something poked my back,” you said.
“I figured I’d let you guys sleep,” he said. “You want to hit up the water with us? Double date while the kids are at school?”
“We have plans,” said Jensen with a soft smile. “But dinner here later?”
“What are we having? Cause you know we got our tradition for last week of school,” said Jared with a grin.
“You guys handle the sides, we’ll handle the meat,” said Jensen. Jared smirked and you shook your head. “You’re a child.”
“You handle that meat real good,” said Jared, Jensen whacking his arm.
“Be careful with the skis. Wear your life jacket doofus,” he said.
“Yes mom,” said Jared as he handed you back the bottle and container. “Six thirty ish?”
“Sounds good. Oh and if Gen is in the mood to make extra queso…” said Jensen, Jared rolling his eyes. “Thank you Jared.”
“Yeah, yeah. You guys finish up your thing early you know where to find us,” he said. He headed back up the yard as you and Jensen ducked inside.
“I am going to shower,” you said. Jensen grinned and grabbed your free hand. “Do...do you want to shower too?”
“We would save a lot of time if we did it together,” he said.
“I like the way you think Ackles.”
“I am so confused,” you said an hour later, sat on the hood of Baby with a blindfold on. “You know normally you would do the blindfold and then give the ring, not the other way around.”
“Eh, quiet with your back sass. I have a surprise for you that requires some preparation,” he said.
“Oh you know prep work is very important,” you laughed.
“Jared’s a bad influence on you.”
“You’re a bad influence on me,” you said. “So to recap, after we showered and got dressed in what I should say is a particularly flattering romper-”
“I like the red one but you had to go with the blue, didn’t you,” he chuckled.
“The red one is so tight on my ass it’s not even funny.”
“We have different definitions of problems with clothing,” he laughed.
“Well, this light blue one is strapless.”
“I know. I find that very, very appealing.”
“Anyways, my randy fiance hits me out of nowhere with a ring he’s had in the closet apparently and then he kidnaps me away to his muscle car, throws a blindfold on me and after approximately twenty one minutes of driving, mainly highway, we park and he has abandoned me like a damsel to fend for myself in the summer heat.”
“You trying to win an Oscar over there?” he chuckled.
“I’d settle for an Emmy.”
“Oh yeah. Everybody can get one of those,” he laughed. “You can calm yourself little lady. I am almost done and frankly your timing estimation is scarily accurate.”
“Well I know how far the brewery is from the house so not that impressive,” you said.
“We’re not at the brewery,” he said.
“We are literally at the brewery. I heard someone shout your name.”
“Technically we’re on the land next to it, smarty pants. Two more seconds,” he said. You leaned your head back, enjoying the breeze and smell of fresh pizza.
“Hey Jensen. What’s this dinner tradition thing with the Padaleckis?”
“Oh we started it a few years back. This is the kids last week of school. Since tomorrow and wednesday are half days, we kinda always get together as like an end of school celebration that Monday night. We’ll go out this weekend with them but we do a home cooked meal, normally a tex-mex blend sort of thing for this. I got a guy we can get some marinated brisket from on the way home. We’ll put her in the grill on low and she’ll be good to go.”
“You ever have a sandwich with brisket, coleslaw and jalapenos? It is so, so good.”
“I’m gonna have to try that out tonight,” he said, his hands on your arms. “For now though, please remove your blindfold, madam.”
You undid the bow in the back and pulled it off. A small table was set up with a two candles on top, a box of pizza at the end and a six pack beside it.
“You really do know the way to my heart,” you said. You laughed and he walked you over to it, pulling out your folding chair. “I thought I smelled pizza.”
“I know you like the one we sell quite a bit,” he said, taking a seat next to you. “I actually...don’t laugh but this was kinda my idea of how I actually wanted to propose. It’s private but simple. You’ve never been the fanfare type. I thought you would have liked it.”
“You could always ask again.”
“Wanna marry me?”
“Yup,” you said. He wiped off his brow and and you gently smacked his arm. “I do like it. Just us. It’s really peaceful here.”
“I’ve always thought so. Our own little slice of country,” he said.
“I never told you, did I,” you said, smiling to yourself. “I grew up on the outskirts of Austin, about ten minutes down the road.”
“That’s all farm country out there,” he said. You shrugged and he chuckled. “You grew up on a farm?”
“My mom owned acreage from her parents, their parents before them. She left it to me. I haven’t been in over a year. A local farmer makes sure the house is in order but we got fields and a house and barn. I never sold it in case I needed a place between nanny jobs.”
“Would you show me sometime?” he asked.
“Yeah. We can go after our lunch date. Promise.”
“What do you think?” you asked when you walked up the front path to the house nearly an hour later.
“This is gorgeous out here. It’s so quiet,” he said as he looked around at the small hills and trees, the swaying long grass in the breeze. “We should keep this.”
“Huh?”
“You said you kept it for a place to stay between jobs. I think we should definitely keep it though, for us. It’s like a different world almost but it’s within driving distance of home.”
“I haven’t lived here since I was sixteen,” you said, tucking your hair behind your ear. “But...I think you’re right. Mom would want us to keep it. I really did love it here. It’d be great too for when your family is in town. We only have the one guest room but this is a much shorter drive for like your siblings families and they don’t need a hotel or anything.”
“That’s a great idea. I know they’d visit more often if they had the space for the kids and some grown up space even,” he said. You picked up a rock by the steps and grabbed the key, undoing the front door. It smelled only a bit musty as you stepped inside. You left the door open, leaving the screen one shut to air it out as Jensen turned his head. “This place is huge. Your mom got it from family?”
“Her parents died when she was in college. Only child. There’s five good sized bedrooms,” you said. “That was the dining room which honestly we only used for holidays. Stairs, hallway to the back. Left is the family room.”
He started to wander and you followed after, showing him the kitchen before taking him up.
“This was my room,” you said as you opened a door. It was fairly empty aside from a bare bed and a few boxes. He thumbed over the doorframe, catching each notch in the wood.
“Hit your growth spurt around twelve?” he asked. You nodded and he smiled. “I was so short.”
“Not short anymore,” you said while he walked around.
“Do you have any pictures of your mom? The downstairs looked a little bare.”
“Yeah,” you said. You showed him down to the master, opening up a box on the bed. “That’s where they all are.”
“Would it be alright if we took these home with us?”
“Yeah,” you said quietly, taking a seat. He sat beside you and you took out an album, Jensen smiling at the first page. “Don’t laugh.”
“That is the ugliest dress I’ve ever seen.”
“I didn’t have much say in the matter,” you said. “That’s from the day I got adopted.”
“You were adorable, even if it looks like you’re wearing a drape,” he chuckled. He turned the page and cocked his head. “Is this your mom?”
“Yeah.”
“She’s so happy,” he said. “I bet that was one of the best days ever for her.”
“I agree,” you said, Jensen flipping some more before stopping at one. “What is it?”
“Where’s this from?” he asked.
“I think Miami. We went there on vacation one year with Ray. I was nine I want to say,” you said.
“Was it March?”
“Yeah, how’d you know?”
“Dee went on her spring break to Miami one year in college,” he said. He pointed at a couple of girls that were in the background behind where your set up was, one of them looking very familiar.
“That looks just like-”
“I know. Might not be her. Odds are-”
“How many Danneel’s have you ever met with their name on their bag,” you said, pointing at the purse.
“Oh my God. She was such a little preppy nerd,” he chuckled. “I bet she did that cause of her friends.”
“You can have that if you want.”
“I think we can share it,” he said. He turned through the pages and finished with the album, picking out another. You let him look and ask questions for a while before he’d gone through most of the box. He carried it downstairs with him and packed it away in the backseat before you brought him around to the back of the house.
“Come here,” you said. You dragged him over to the tree with the wide swing, space enough for the both of you to sit. “I used to stay out here all day sometimes. Day of the funeral I must have sat here for hours and hours.”
“Not a bad place to grieve. It’s pretty.”
“It was the last time I sat on this swing. I said I’d never feel at home here again,” you said. “Ray and I got an apartment closer to town, moved the next week.”
“How do you feel now?” You smiled and leaned back.
“Now...home is people, not a place. I want to share this with you, the kids. Our family. I was so unhappy as a child and this place changed that for me cause of my mom and even Ray. It’s a good place again for me. Home is somewhere else now but it feels warm here again, not sad and cold.”
“Thanks for taking me out here today,” he said.
“Maybe we can even do that camping trip in one of the fields. You gotta see the stars out here, way more than at the house.”
“Camping with indoor plumbing only steps away. Best of both worlds,” he said. “Do you own anything else big? We never really talked about that kind of stuff I suppose.”
“Actually I own the Dallas Cowboys. I didn’t want to intimidate you,” you said. He rolled his eyes while you bumped his arm and giggled.
“Okay wise guy.” He threw his arm over your shoulders and you expected a noogie but only got a kiss on the head. “You’re lucky I know how long you spent on your hair this morning or else you’d be so screwed right now.”
“Losing your edge, Ackles.” He didn’t hesitate that time to put you in a headlock and you managed to ruffle his some before he gave in with a laugh. You could feel a few strands out of place but he stood and undid your hair tie, moving behind you and scooping it all up. He hummed and put it back in a messy bun for you, smiling as you leaned back to catch him fixing his hair. “I don’t have much else besides this place, my car and a savings account.”
“You know, speaking of your car...I’m gonna have to be an asshole about something,” he said.
“Oh? What’s that?” you said as you stood. You walked in front of him and he rested his hands on your hips.
“I’m going to have to insist on a new one.”
“Ah, come on. It’s my first car. I got if for my sixteenth birthday,” you said.
“That car is almost as old as you are. I know you don’t have to drive it as much lately since we take mine but please can we get something from the current decade? Pretty please?” he asked, jutting out his lip.
“Are you worried?” you asked. He nodded and you smiled. “I will look at something newer, I promise.”
“Thank you,” he said, checking his watch. “Want to go get that meat, get started on it?”
“Oh I bet you want to handle that meat,” you said. He gave his bitch face and walked away as you laughed.
“Your crude humor is very immature,” he said as you caught up with him. “I don’t go for that kind of low brow thing.”
“I watched you make a dick out of a banana and two oranges at the grocery store yesterday.”
“Touche,” he said.
“You’re silly,” you said, wrapping an arm around his waist. “But I like that.”
“Me too, sweetheart,” he said, kissing your temple. “Anything besides the brisket you want to pick up? Chicken? Burgers?”
“Hm, I’ve never made my world famous chicken thighs for you yet. I gotta grill ‘em but the secret is you heat them up in the oven again with this marinade sauce. I got a raise out of it once actually.”
“First off, the face you can grill is extremely attractive. Second, how’d you manage a raise?” he asked, stopping by Baby.
“I made them for the couple I was working for at the time. She took credit of course but they had a fancy dinner party with her boss and she got named partner at her firm for it so she gave me a raise for helping out.”
“Well now that you’ve hyped these things up to here we gotta have some for sure,” he said. “Why don’t we head out to the store. We only got about an hour before we need to grab the twins from daycare.”
“After you babe.”
