Major Political Shift in Indian General Election, Jeopardizing Modi's Historic Third Term
June 5, 2024 The recent Indian general election has resulted in a significant political shift, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) experiencing major losses. Despite Modi’s claim of victory for a historic third term, the BJP is projected to lose its majority in Parliament, which is considered a substantial setback for the party that was long expected to secure a full…

It's official, US TikTok is going dark right now. Lives vanish bit by bit, East to West.
So time for the Tumblr house rules for those few, who'll find their way here:
Before everything else, personalize your blog! Put a different picture up, write a bio and/or make your first individual post, or people will think you are a bot. Then it's on sight. We block and report those immediately, thanks to the great porn bot wars.
Once that's done:
1. Speak clear and freely. Say what you mean, we don't do that 1984 Newspeek and emojis instead of words here.
2. Tags are a way to sort your stuff AND to communicate. But stay on topic. No spam tagging. And no censoring words or no one will ever be able find anything. Search system is shot enough to hell as is.
3. Don't like, don't read. The block button is your friend.
4. Reblog, don't repost. We don't steal content here. Always give credit. Which is also the reason for...
5. AI is not liked here. It is trained on stolen content. Just don't.
6. There is no such thing as a Tumblr influencer. Even our big names are just normal people, who just stick out due to longevity and/or weirdness.
7. Follower count doesn't matter. No one can see who has what amount of followers and we don't care.
8. Our "viral" posts are our heritage posts. Some might have breached containment and have been shared to other sites. We keep them going because we genuinely like them or want to keep the ancient magic alive.
9. Which leads to likes. They are nice and you obviously are not supposed not to give them, but they don't really matter apart from spamming the notifications of the OP. Reblogging keeps Tumblr alive.
10. We have our own holidays. Don't worry, you will not be forced to partake, but you will be confronted with them. Unless there is another round of The Boopening. Sorry, but no one escapes The Boopening! (Many prefer it to the Mishapocalypse, but this the SPN site, so never discount a Mishapocalypse. Or getting your news via Destiel meme.)
11. Our lore (Tumblr history) is wild. Stolen bones, human pets, dashcon, crucifix nail nipples, the bullying of John Green off the platform (the totally unrelated intern of a coffee company has forgiven us), female presenting nipples, Goncharov, crab raves... This site has been around for a very long time and a lot of us have been around for most of that. We are proud to have remained "ungovernable" and are unapologetic about it, thus we celebrate our history. Even the failures.
12. You can use the "discover" feed of course. But we basically only ever use the "following". No algorithm, just an endless reverse chronological scroll.
13. There is no verification system. We know that people like Wil Wheaton, Lynda Carter and Misha Collins are the real deal, because they verified themselves through other official means. Otherwise everybody can be whoever they want to be. Meaning also that you always should use common sense before chipping in with donations.
14. It's your blog, not some social media account. If you change interests (however often you want), just post about those. Your followers mostly won't care. Hell, about 90% of the blogs I follow have changed names, themes and topics so many times, I don't even remember why I followed in the beginning. (The amount of second hand knowledge about shows/movies I obtained...) If it gets too much, unfollow or block relevant tags.
15. Pixelated icons indicate that the blog has been flagged/self-reported as containing adult themes, mainly nudity. Goes back to great porn purge (see female presenting nipples). It's also why sometimes posts have pictures removed for going against Tumblr's content policy. There is still enough nudity going around.
Welcome, have fun, look around, find your niche, and don't worry. We don't bite. Much.

A pro-Israel “surveillance network” that has offered bounties for information on pro-Palestinian protesters is establishing a foothold in Australia and claims to have secured meetings with key federal politicians, leaked messages show.
Shirion Collective, which has largely focused on the US and UK, boasts of its ability to scrape digital fingerprints to “aggressively track and expose antisemites”. It is one of a number of groups that have gained prominence on social media during the Israel-Gaza war, publicly naming individuals it accuses of being antisemitic.
Shirion Collective claims it has an AI tool called Maccabee which can identify and track targets.
In one post on X, Shirion outlines a scenario in which the tool creates and releases deepfake videos – falsified content that looks and sounds genuine – to embarrass individuals who take down posters picturing Israeli hostages.
On its X account, Shirion Collective has claimed to offer bounties of US$500 for information on people in videos. In a December post it claimed it would pay up to US$15,000 for “crucial insights” about politicians, US$7,500 for medical doctors and US$250 for students.
Leaked screenshots of Shirion’s Telegram channel, shared with Guardian Australia by the White Rose Society, an anti-fascist researchgroup, show Shirion has become active in Australia, with participants identifying potential targets and boasting of attempts to meet the home affairs minister, Clare O’Neil, and the shadow home affairs minister, James Paterson.
Anonymised Shirion members discussed presenting O’Neil and Paterson with a list of names to ensure they were “brought to justice according to the rule of law”.
“Need help. We managed to get into home affairs calendar, need to come prepared with people with hate speech and names that the government didn’t held [sic] accountable,” one anonymous user said.
“Meeting with Clair [sic] or her stuff [sic] … we also have a meeting with the shadow minister.”
Both O’Neil and Paterson’s offices said they had not met anyone who identified themselves as part of Shirion Collective.
The leaked texts show people on the Shirion channel discussed adding the names of individuals to a “watch list” and mass reporting posts on social media.
Some Australians whose social media accounts were linkedin the channel had shared antisemitic, racist and conspiracy theory content on social media. Others were pro-Palestinian activists who do not appear to have posted or shared antisemitic content.
When contacted via its social media accounts, a Shirion member describing themself as the “social media guy” said the “Ai is a quiet project with an internal team”.
The Shirion member said “bounties were for info and was in the USA not Australia”. The member said Shirion’s Telegram channel was open.
“The telegram [sic] is open and we do a soft verification that people are real. But freedom of speech is welcome there,” the Shirion member said.
The member said they would refer Guardian Australia’s questions to a “commander” but no further response was received.
Shirion Collective is one of several groups that say they track and fight antisemitism, largely through identifying individuals online.
Canary Mission, which has been operating since at least 2015, maintains lists of students, professors and other individuals on its website who it claims “promote hatred of the USA, Israel and Jews”. Another prominent account on X, StopAntisemitism, shares the names and employers or academic institutions of individuals, and often directs its more than 298,000 followers where to make complaints.
The leaked posts from the Shirion Collective Telegram channel point to some publicly available material its contributors regard as antisemitic, but also discuss creating “infiltrator” accounts to view and share material from private Instagram accounts.
In the leaked posts seen by Guardian Australia, contributors do not reveal personally identifiable information about any individual that is not publicly available.
The Shirion Collective account on X/Twitter has identified people it alleges have posted antisemitic material, or statements in support of Hamas, and tagged in their employer or academic institution in the case of students.
Naming someone online is not necessarily illegal, but Michael Bradley, a managing partner at Marque Lawyers, warned there were potential implications depending on the nature of the claims, such as harassment and intimidation or even racial vilification.
“Using social media as a mechanism for coalescing groups that want to engage in doxing activity, it’s obviously extremely powerful,” he said.
Last month, a Sydney resident named Theo had a picture of his house and his street address posted to a Facebook group.
Theo, who asked that his surname not be used, had raised a Palestinian flag and placed a blackboard with messages critical of Israel in front of his Botany home.
Less than two weeks later, a jerry can with rags stuffed into it, a disposable lighter and large bolts were placed on the bonnet of his car with a message that read: “Enough! Take down flag! One chance!!!!”
The incident prompted the deployment of the bomb squad and local police.
The investigation has not been transferred to the counter-terror investigators and remains with local police.

Hi Ixi!
I know this doesn't directly concern Good Omens, but it's really important. Instagram/Meta has sneakily started auto-opting people in to surrendering all their data for generative AI training two weeks back. I don't have any reach, so I thought I'd try to send an ask to you in order to warn as many people as possible. Everyone who still has content (new or old) on Meta services would be affected by this, I think. Whether a profile is private or not does not matter - the only content they say they aren't touching yet is DMs.
The only options are to either force them to delete all your data and close the accounts, or opting out. Opting out is made to be deliberately annoying and may not even be available everywhere.
If it is, here's a short guide to do so: You should be able to find a message from Meta in your notifications saying something to the effect of 'we will feed you to our AI models'. Click on it, then click on 'right to object' in the text. Fill out the form. I don't think it really matters what one writes - in most places, they are required by law to honour the objection. It might help to have something to copy, so I freestyled this and it worked: "I object to my data being used to train generative AI in accordance with all applicable data protection laws. This is a gross invasion of privacy. I do not consent to my likeness being commercialised by you. You have no right to use this data as AI training data without my consent."
If the email with the verification OTP (one-time-password) doesn't arrive, switch off browser protection, try a different browser or a different email address. Gmail worked for me. The request is linked to the currently-logged-in Insta account, so the address used isn't relevant. If all goes well, you will receive an email at the OTP email address a few seconds later saying you've been opted out. That's it!
I hope you'll see this and that it can help people out, especially considering the sizeable artist community here on Tumblr.
Thank you!
-- Fuchurial

i do actually think adding a Tumblr content label for AI generated images would be useful for everyone, wouldn't fuck up anyone's day that actually wanted to post or look at ai pics, and I doubt the corpos that are paying tumblr for ai dataset feeding would care either. maybe it's just the verification process putting more stress on the already-failing content checking infrastructure that's the holdup. it's not like labeling something "mature" or "drugs" or something you can just look at and see whether it is or not, unless they made it a fully community-based vote they would be showing increasingly-realistic AI slop to moderators and asking them to determine whether they were AI or not to trigger the label and I don't think it's possible. we're already at a point where the average gen alpha doesn't know the difference between "Photoshop" and "AI" and uses the terms interchangeably. edit: and, I forgot to add but meant to, we are already at a point where grizzled old fake picture-spotters like myself cannot always 100% accurately determine if something is AI. the realism gap is going to close almost completely within a year for anyone using generative software that has current updates and a prompter that is careful about picking which output to post. the realism gap is already closed for careful prompters, anyone who gets lucky and doesn't get weird hands or text, and any image which is of subject matter niche enough to fly under most people's radars.
the label could be phrased to accommodate this, as in, "XXXX out of XXXX users (let's say enough reports trigger a voting mechanism, idk) believe this media is AI-generated, photoshopped, or otherwise tampered with" but who knows how helpful it would actually be.
they did some research a while back on the effect of knowing photos of women had been retouched in Photoshop on the audience's self-image. they found that contrary to expectations, Photoshop labels made the test subjects feel worse about their own self image than they did when shown Photoshopped images of models that did not have a disclaimer on them. I've been mulling that one over for a while now. and since this is the dipshit idiot moron website no this last anecdote is not me saying "labeling fake media is useless", I still think fake media should be labeled. it just raises questions about the assumed benefits of the labeling. "knowing a picture is fake" is not a benefit that needs to be tested in the case of, for example, fake historical photographs.

🚨Scammer Alert🚨 + 🔎Scam Exam(ination)🔍
Seen as: Recruitment to join the Illuminati Scam Type: Identity Theft / Fraud
Post updated: 2/14/25
Accounts running this scam: templeoflight66 symbolsand-shadow mysticmason googlescholarsecretsandsybmols illuminatiinsights thehiddenodex
-----
Before we dive into this scam, please note that this scam is very dangerous as it reportedly deals with identity theft and concludes with the theft and use of your stolen information for nefarious purposes.
As it should go with any stranger you talk to on the internet, you should never willingly give out any of your personal information such as: real name, date of birth, address, phone number, credit card/bank information, photos of yourself or your bank, credit, social security card, ect, to a stranger on the internet who promises you money.
1 - How it starts.
This scam typically starts by someone receiving an email, or in the images we will be examining today, a tumblr user receiving a DM- or, well, several DM's, from users who were trying to 'bless them with good tidings of the universe' and that it was 'a sign from the almighty' and 'it was fate' and all that nonsense... to try and then recruit them to join the Illuminati.
The following images were provided by an anonymous user of their conversation with googlescholarsecretsandsybmols:

Here is anonymous's contact with mysticmason:

🚩Notable red flags🚩
Their blogs are full of generic AI generated images, philosophical scripture/nonsense, links to Illuminati websites/content that seem suspicious.
The offer of the impossible.
Wealth (of an undisclosed amount) to help the homeless with food and resources. Some 'means' of aiding your business and/or helping you attain any job position you desire in your work place. Some ✨magical✨ means of granting you recognition in your community. (As if they can suddenly make people change their opinions of you...)
Then instant request/demand that they need you to use Telegram for communication.
Telegram is a service that a lot of scammers use, and they use it because they can easily communicate with other scammers (and victims) there, and run their scams through it without it usually being able to be used as evidence should something like Identity Theft occur.
2 - How this scam works.
This scam works by... well, what I find to be the most obvious tactic that a lot of scammers use:
The life changing offer of a lot money... You just need to do a little something in return... ;)
From here I will be pulling information from this article from Bitdefender, one of the most well known and well trusted Antivirus brands on the market today. (That I use in fact! :D)
In regards to the emails- the original method this scam was spread:
The spam emails were traced to IP addresses in Nigeria (40%), South Africa (16%), the US (14%), the Netherlands (13%), and Argentina and Brazil (with 5% each).
Here are a list of benefits the Illuminati claims they can offer you if you join, taken from the Bitdefender article as well:
A new house bought in any country of your choice.
A monthly salary of $200,000
A blessing for joining which includes 10 million dollars.
A "magic talisman" that can cure any kind of illness or infection.
The power to prosper and improve.
Free access to Bohemians grove.
First class/VIP treatment at any airport in the world.
One-year appointment approval with the top 10 world leaders.
Appointments with world celebrities of your choice.
A personal car with your name customized on it.
The seven-book of Moses to learn the language of ORIS for "powers".
And a lot more!...
You just have to buy the required items for you to become an initiate member into the 'brotherhood.'
Which is when they'll have you fill out a sheet with all of your personal information, work occupation, wage earnings, as well as request a photograph of you and/or your license for 'verification'.
If you do, they will steal your identity, use it to register for things like loans, ruin your credit, and your life is practically ruined. :(
Final Thoughts:
As I mentioned prior, you should never send this kind of information to anyone on the internet for any kind of reason if you do not know who you are speaking to on the other end, aka they're a stranger.
All these kinds of scams go off of are words, as that's all they are.
A promise made of just words.
No different than the free money or sugar baby/daddy scam where they promise you $3000 a month, all you have to do is 'send me $100+ to verify you want to do this.'
I know how life changing a lot of money can be, but do try to be logical and think about these things, for your sake and others!
Take care everyone.

okay i'm sorry, but this ao3 ai scrape panic is bullshit.
y'all do realize that anything you upload on the internet is public right? anyone can access your fics for any reason. if get that, then why all this outrage?
As far as I understand, the only data that was "taken" was the contents of individual works (along with any associated metadata). No passwords or other credentials were scraped. So, what's the problem?
The data was taken from Ao3, and on that site all works are public. At most, you need to pass an age verification. This isn't like Patreon where you can restrict access to certain users, all the scraped data is unrestricted and available to any internet user, no authentication needed.
There's one detail that bears mentioning, some people have claimed that hidden fics (such as drafts for example) were also scraped. I can't confirm if this actually happened, but let's assume it did.
If it did happen, there are a couple of things i would take issue with. This is a security flaw with ao3 (since only the account owner should have access) and obviously would need to be fixed. my other concern is if the private data that was scraped was published somewhere, but as far as i know that did not happen. the data was only used to train an AI model, maybe the scrapped data still exists on a hard drive somewhere, but the actual model doesn't hold that data.
I find it unlikely that this data would be scraped, and even if it did, i'm not too worried. Drafts shouldn't contain sensitive user data, just unfinished or yet to be released works and stuff like that. Annoying, but not that big of a deal.
If you're upset that your writing is being used to train AI models, please ask yourself why that is. Why is it such a big deal that a machine took *publicly available data* and aggregated it for the function of model training? Why does that upset you?
The anti-hype around AI is getting as annoying as the techbro hype train.
This isn't a big deal.

Glad that you are calling out the AI-police blog for being a chatbot
Glad to be of service! It’s pretty clear that @ai-fandom-police is an obvious chatbot given how erratically they respond and just how repetitive their content is. I mean, is it any more obvious than that?
New account, no proof, no verification, and suddenly it starts accusing everyone of using AI? I have friends whose blogs are being bombarded with anonymous users asking whether they use AI. It’s pretty obvious that no human can send so many asks at once so they have to be a bot.

Are you digikin? Are you looking for a place to hang out with other digikin to chat about kinstuff? Then consider joining The Net Ocean, a brand-new digikin Discord server!
Features:
PluralKit, for anyone who needs it, and a channel specifically for headmate introduction threads!
Appy for verification--- no need to worry about randos coming in to the server!
React roles to help show other people what canons you connect to, including roles for more obscure sources like the Xros Wars Manga, Appmon, and original media!
Rules:
Please be respectful of fellow members of the server. This server is intended to be a comfortable space for all kinds of digikin. Respect everyone's pronouns and identities. Failure to do so will result in administrative action depending on the severity of the issue. There is no tolerance for things such as racism, ableism, homophobia, or transphobia here.
This server is only for adults (18+). This is for ease of moderation. If you are found to be lying about your age and are a minor, you will be banned from the server, no exceptions. That said, don't be needlessly crude. If the need for NSFW chats arises, keep riskier topics to it. No one wants to be jump scared by messages that could get them fired.
We are an explicitly plural inclusive server. That means that, to join, you must be accepting of different system structures, be they traumagenic, endogenic, or anything between or without. We do not consider "endo-neutral" to be an inclusive stance, as this often implies an expectation for endogenic systems to "prove" their existence.
This server is run by a system that would generally be considered an "anti." If this bothers you, we would not recommend this server for you. This warning is provided for your comfort as much as ours, as we understand that those labels or the perception of them can come across as antagonistic.
Piggybacking off of that, while in this server please refrain from engaging in discourse subjects. The hard rules set above exist for a reason, but we are all complex individuals, and discourse can often devolve quickly into fights. We understand that the presence of Rule 4 to begin with is, in itself, discourse, but further discussion in the server of these topics (such as shipping discourse) is discouraged.
Similarly, let's try to leave heavier topics at the door. For the time being, outside of memory vent channels, we will not be opening vent channels in this server. Right now the world is a mess, but let's not make this a space to talk about it.
Try to stay relatively on-topic to a given channel. If you find yourself drifting from the subject of one channel to conversation that would be better suited in another, consider moving to continue talking. If you find yourself unable to determine what is "on topic" for a channel, refer to its description or ask a moderator in the suggestions chat for clarification. A moderator may redirect particularly off-topic conversation, just so that anyone that might want to talk on-topic is able to do so.
It should go without saying, but please be courteous to the privacy of your peers. Do not screenshot messages or profiles of other server members without permission. Similarly, we request that you do not share another member's art or writing without explicit permission.
Any art shared in the chat which you did not make must be credited. Anyone found claiming someone else's artwork (either via uncredited artwork or use of content-generation LLMs, colloquially known as "AI" generators) will be given a warning or banned, depending on the severity of the infraction.
If we ever have to add rules, we'll make an announcement to let everyone know what's changed.
If you are using PluralKit, please ensure you have a System Tag enabled and appended to your root account's username. This is for ease of moderation. Warnings are applied on an account basis; therefore, if one headmate in a system breaks a rule, the system as a whole will receive disciplinary action.
Well? What are you waiting for?
Let's dive!

Big fan of your work, especially the diaper boy captions! I was curious, would ever use AI generated images for your caption work? Thanks
Hi and thanks for the ask! It's a good question, and as of now my answer is a resounding no.
I do readily concede that at first, something like AI images seem great for this kind of steamy content. No one gets exploited, it's 100% fictional, there are no issues with age verification, etc. But that's not the entire story.
As I understand it, the current AI models that generate images only function because they've taken in vast amounts of training data: data to which it is by no means clear they have a clear and legal right. When combined with the ways that these image generators threaten to rob actual artists (and yes, I know I'll tee off AI fans by saying that) of their livelihoods, I cannot bring myself to even consider seriously using them in any capacity.
I would far rather use images of real (adult) people who have agreed to model and who have not only consented to the use of their likeness, but who often earn a livelihood from it. That, in my humble opinion, is a far more attractive option.
Oh, and the fact that I loathe most of what I've seen coming from AI image generators only helps to reinforce that stance. After all, it's tough to write a steamy caption when the image isn't appealing to the writer. :-)
Cheers! -PLP

Elon Musk says he sold X to his AI company
By Lisa Eadicicco, CNN
Updated: 6:36 PM EDT, Fri March 28, 2025
Source: CNN
Elon Musk on Friday evening announced he has sold his social media company, X, to xAI, his artificial intelligence company. xAI will pay $45 billion for X, slightly more than Musk paid for it in 2022, but the new deal includes $12 billion of debt.
Musk wrote on his X account that the deal gives X a valuation of $33 billion.
“xAI and X’s futures are intertwined,” Musk said in a post on X. “Today, we officially take the step to combine the data, models, compute, distribution and talent. This combination will unlock immense potential by blending xAI’s advanced AI capability and expertise with X’s massive reach.”
Musk didn’t announce any immediate changes to X, although xAI’s Grok chatbot is already integrated into the social media platform. Musk said that the combined platform will “deliver smarter, more meaningful experiences.” He said the value of the combined company was $80 billion.
Musk has made a slew of changes to the platform once known as Twitter since he purchased it in 2022, prompting some major advertisers to flee. He laid off 80% of the company’s staff, upended the platform’s verification system and reinstated suspended accounts of White supremacists within months of the acquisition.
While X’s valuation is lower than what Musk paid for the social outlet, it’s still a reversal of fortunes for the company. Investment firm Fidelity estimated in October that X was worth nearly 80% less than when Musk bought it. By December, X had recovered somewhat but was still worth only around 30% of what Musk paid, according to Fidelity, whose Blue Chip fund holds a stake in X.
The news also comes as Musk has been in the spotlight for his role at the Department of Government Efficiency in the Trump administration, which has raised questions about how much attention he’s paying to his companies, particularly Tesla. Combining X and xAI could allow Musk to streamline his efforts.
Musk has also been working to establish himself as a leader in the AI space, a big focus for both the Trump administration and the tech industry. Earlier this year, he led a group of investors attempting to purchase ChatGPT maker OpenAI for nearly $100 billion, another escalation in the longtime rivalry between Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
It’s unclear precisely how the acquisition will benefit Musk’s AI ambitions. But the tighter integration with X could allow xAI to push its latest AI models and features to a broad audience more quickly.
A significant reversal of X’s fortunes
Big advertisers, who had largely abandoned X after hate speech surged on the platform and ads were seen running alongside pro-Nazi content, have begun to return. (X made several pro-Nazi accounts ineligible for ads following advertiser departures.) Amazon and Apple are both reportedly reinvesting in X campaigns again, a remarkable endorsement from two brands with mass appeal.
The brand’s stabilization helped a group of bondholders, who had been deep underwater in their investments, sell billions of dollars in their X debt holdings at 97 cents on the dollar earlier this month — albeit with exceedingly high interest rates — according to several recent reports.
Bloomberg in February reported that X was in talks to raise money that would value the company at $44 billion. It’s not clear what came of those talks and why xAI is valuing X at less than it could reportedly fetch from investors. X needs to pay down its massive debt load, which Musk on Friday said totals $12 billion.
A big part of why X’s valuation has rebounded in recent months is xAI, which X reportedly held a stake in. Last month, xAI was seeking a $75 billion valuation in a funding round, according to Bloomberg.
But the biggest factor in X’s stunning bounce-back is almost certainly Musk himself: Musk’s elevation to a special government employee under President Donald Trump has empowered the world’s richest person with large sway over the operations of the federal government, which he has rapidly sought to reshape.
Investors betting on X are probably making a gamble on its leader, not its business. Last year, Musk turned X into a pro-Trump machine, using the platform to boost the president’s campaign. In posts to his 200 million followers, he pushed racist conspiracy theories about the Biden administration’s immigration policies and obsessed over the “woke mind virus,” a term used by some conservatives to describe progressive causes.
And now, with Trump back in office and Musk working in the executive branch, X has once again become the most important social media platform for following and interacting with the Trump administration. Musk has also used X to broadcast some of his changes with his Department of Government Efficiency.

OpenAI Text Summary
The text discusses the evolution and application of advanced AI technology, specifically focusing on a system called Deep Research developed by OpenAI. Ron Unz, the author, shares his experiences with AI in the context of fact-checking his own articles published on his platform, The Unz Review. After initially experimenting with chatbot technology to engage readers with simulations of various authors, Unz transitioned to using Deep Research to fact-check his extensive body of work—over a million words. This new AI system offers a more in-depth and nuanced analysis of articles compared to conventional chatbots, promising remarkable accuracy in evaluating complex narratives.
Unz highlights the capabilities of Deep Research, particularly in identifying factual inaccuracies within his articles. He describes how the AI can generate detailed critiques that go beyond surface-level assessments, analyzing the logical consistency and representation of sources in his writing. Unz observes that while the AI effectively corrects minor inaccuracies, it also raises questions about the broader accuracy of his claims, often challenging the mainstream narrative. This thoroughness has led Unz to appreciate the AI’s contributions to his work, despite the inherent limitations of the technology, such as occasional failures in its processing.
Throughout the text, Unz shares specific examples of fact-checking conducted by the AI on various controversial topics he has written about, such as the JFK assassination, racial violence, and the role of British intelligence in U.S. politics. In many instances, the AI affirmed the accuracy of his claims, lending credibility to his often contentious perspectives. However, it also flagged certain assertions as speculative or exaggerated, prompting Unz to engage with the feedback critically. The author emphasizes that while the AI is a powerful tool for verifying information, it also highlights the subjective nature of interpreting historical events.
In conclusion, Unz expresses a high level of confidence in the accuracy of his writings, bolstered by the comprehensive analyses provided by the Deep Research AI. He acknowledges the potential for error and the complexity of fact-checking in historical discourse but remains steadfast in his belief that the majority of his assertions are well-founded. The engagement with AI technology has allowed him to refine his arguments, correct past mistakes, and present his work with a renewed sense of reliability. Unz's exploration of AI in the context of fact-checking serves as a testament to the evolving landscape of information verification in an era where digital tools offer unprecedented access to knowledge and scrutiny.
