Day 6 and therefore the last day focusing on watercolors. In this case, Pen Store had even written the challenge to create something using all the new supplies that have now been added. I tried to use as few extras as possible. Just a few of my watercolors, a larger brush for the larger areas and drawing gum on the loose petals. Apart from that, I worked exclusively with the loot here. We had started this section with Underlust, so - since Rosie the Rose is the first character I thought of who has this color combo - we'll finish this section with Underlust as well. Started with the most tainted character of this  Undertale AU and ending with the purest. 🌹

This month I'll be doing a lil advent challenge for my own amusement - counting down favourite Russ characters. As always, everything will be fully tagged (advent countdown) so posts can be blocked if it's not your sorta thing :) The usual gifsets I post will carry on as normal 👍

Cinderella Home

What is a Cinderella home, you ask? Take one part Swiss ski chalet, one part domesticity fairy tale, and sprinkle it on a midcentury tract home. These storybook ranches were designed with the taste of the woman of the home in mind and built en masse throughout California.

Their distinctive fairy tale style was highly sought after and often imitated by competitors. Cinderella homes can be credited with a lot of what we think of as classic ranch home features. Think: knotty pine, scalloped wood valances over kitchen windows, ornate turned spindles as room dividers. Of course, you can always yank that all out and start over from scratch

This home might be perfect for: the Disney Princess challenge, Not So Berry blue gen, Judith Ward's origin story, anyone's fairy godmother... anyone who likes baby blue!

i've decided to try to do @the-slumberparty's December Daze advent calendar challenge, and i'm excited to get into the holiday spirit!! i feel like i don't normally write a lot of christmas/december holiday fics so this should be fun!! 🎄❄️

a couple notes: instead of doing every day like a true advent calendar, i'm aiming for every three days (mainly because i'm trying to be realistic and give myself room to work on other things at the same time). still, this is going to be a very loose posting schedule. also i'm deciding on characters as i go along so i'll add those in only once i've decided.

December Klaine Fanworks Challenge!!!

(Brought to you by the @klaineadvent blog.)

Once again, this will be a 21 day challenge! Hopefully giving everyone time to complete the event before other obligations kick in, or time to catch up if you like.

The Dates. December 1 - December 21 

The Words. Every day around 6am, US Eastern Standard Time, a fresh new word will pop out of the queue. This year the words are not alphabetical, and were chosen by a random word generator. We’ve got a pair of wonderful artists this year working up the slides, so say a big thanks to @mynonah and @justasmallbloginabigklainefandom!  They both did AMAZING work on a very last minute schedule! 

Keep in mind that a lot of words have many definitions, and the one listed is only a suggestion. Feel free to incorporate any definition you like. Also - we often get asked if it has to be the exact version of the word listed - and while I’m not the word police and you can do what works for you, isn’t part of the fun making it work? 

How to participate. Anyone can contribute, no need to sign up! There will be a single word prompt post each day for 21 days (December 1-21). You can write a drabble (or a sentence or a novel, if you like), create an art piece, make fresh gifs based on the prompt - whatever inspires you! This year the tag will be: “december klaine challenge 2024” and please tag with the word of the day so volunteers can ID the posts they need to reblog (please please please make sure all of your contributions are tagged so we can find them!). 

Contribute however works best for you. You can do something every day, every 4th day, once a week, altogether at the end, whatever works for you and your schedule. Use all the prompts or pick and choose what speaks to you. Set your own challenges. The only requirements for the Challenge are that it be Klaine centered, and that it references or uses one the word (or theme) prompt in some way.

Volunteers will be reblogging fics to the @todaydreambelieversfic blog, so you can always go scroll the blog to find the latest entries.  Of course everyone (especially the authors!) would be delighted if people reblogged to their own blog - the more people who reblog something the wider the potential viewing audience. We want to encourage everyone to reblog as many fics as they like all throughout the month!!

Partnership. This year again we’ll be partnering with @todaydreambelieversfic.  Authors and other creators for the December Klaine Fanworks Challenge who would like an additional place to promote their works are welcome to join as members. Just send a private message to @todaydreambelieversfic with your email address and they’ll add you to the blog membership.

NHL Conner reuniting with Sarah, who might have been his childhood "gf" in kindergarten something cute and fluffy or make it angst

Day 3 of the Advent Prompt Challenge! Set loosely during season 1 of Chicago Med and this also falls into my NHL Hockey Star! Connor Rhodes au!

“Reese,” Maggie’s voice floated somewhere above her and Sarah looked up from where she was helping April unpack supplies so they could stock the supply closet. It wasn’t the call of her name that made her look up though, but the confusion in the charge nurse’s voice.

“Yeah Mags, what’s up?”

“There is a man here. Dr. Halstead says he’s the right wringer for the Blackhawks.”

“Okay...” the brunette drew out the word, unsure of why the other woman was telling her this.

“What does that have to do with me Maggie?” Sarah asked as her confusion grew. It wasn’t like she kept up with the sport. Except that Claire’s big brother played the sport professionally.

“He says he’s your husband.”

“What?”

It was Claire’s brother. Sarah saw as she followed behind the charge nurse to where this right-winger was (whatever that was) and there stood Connor Rhodes. Because of course, her best friend's older brother would say something idiotic like he was her husband.

"Hey! There is Mrs. Connor Rhodes now!" He grinned broadly when he saw her walking towards him. All eyes turned to her and she felt a flush of heat running up...everywhere. She was probably as red as a tomato by now.

"I'm not your wife," she muttered glaring at him. But Connor didn't seem fazed. In fact, his grin morphed into one she had only seen a few times. It was soft and his ocean-blue eyes seemed to brighten into stars and those stars seemed to twinkle.

"You doodling Mrs. Sarah Rhodes in your math notebook says otherwise." He teased softly.

"I was ten years old!" The brunette protested, wishing the floor would just open up and swallow her whole. Why shouldn't the rumor mill of Gaffney know about her childhood crush of the man in front of her? But the man in front of her still didn't seem fazed at her words.

"Claire told me she's bringing you to tonight's game." He said holding up a jersey for her to see, "And with it being my first homecoming game back with the Blackhawks-"

Connor had been traded to Boston before Sarah started medical school and had been traded back just before the season started. "-I thought my future wife could wear my jersey."

Sarah took the red jersey with the writing: Rhodes: 15 on the back of it.

"Connor, this looks like the real thing and not just something you get fans. You need this to play."

She glanced up to see Connor rolling his eyes. "Sarah, give me some credit. This is my old jersey. Before I was traded. You know the one you wore the night before I left for Boston..."

A second flush started to creep up her cheeks. Because images of that night had started to flash in her mind.

"And Claire?"

"My sister is wearing my away jersey." Connor reassured the curly-haired brunette, pushing a stray curly behind her ear as he leaned into her personal space to whisper, "Besides, this jersey is no one else's but yours. After all, we did christen it together."

A third flush started to creep up her cheeks.

Day 5 ....uhm, I hope I've used the critter quite correctly here ^^; In the little demo movie that PenStore has linked for each day, the pen brush is pink, while this one has no color and seems to be just for blurring. I guess the color is random and every copy of the adventcalendar has something different? Anyway, I took the opportunity to try out whether you can just apply normal watercolor paint and blur with it. It turns out, yup, it works perfectly. I just hope I didn't kill the pencil in the process. I like these washed-out Patel tones that were created. It's a nice contrast to the bright colors I usually create with my standard Ecoline watercolor pen. I think this softer color scheme is a perfect match for our furry friend here. Yup, it's Ralsei . I also wanted to add a bit more Deltarune here ;)

Snowball fight on base

Literally what's going on

The title pretty much gives it away.

"I prefer the old base actually...", Sam mumbled under his breath, but you and Mikaela heard him.

"Don't be a wuss, it's only cold if you go outside."

"He's scared of the Polar bears.", Mikaela snickers, adjusting her scarf.

You turn to look at your brother. "Polar bears...? In a severely feced, supervised and protected area like this? There are none here. Outside of the fence, yes but as long as you don't go there you'll be fine."

"Hrmph", was the only thing he brought out, regretting ever leaving the warmth of the base.

The three of you didn't walk for long, when you spot a group of bots and soldiers having an intense snowball fight.

After getting a closer look you noticed that there aren't any teams, just them throwing the cold bullets everywhere.

Before you could ask to join, a snowball hit Sam's arm. You take this as an invitation, bending down to grab some snow and running towards the battlefield.

Ratchet and Ironhide had a rather bitter 1v1, and you couldn't figure out what fueled it for the better of it.

"Alright, let's form teams.", you say looking into the round of bots and humans alike.

"I will not be in HIS team.", Ratchet states, shooting a glare at Ironhide, who already held two snowballs, one in each servo.

With that, the Medic walks over to Jazz.

"Fine, we'll win.", the weapon's specialist grumbles, staying next to you.

"Wait, you're participating Ratchet?", you ask rather confused.

Usually the medic distanced himself from such activities.

"If I can get some sense into this bot's processor I'll do this."

"That's the spirit.", Epps chuckled, standing next to the Medic.

"Oh come on Epps, that's betrayal!"

"That's what you get for eating the last coconut macaroon. Now that is betrayal"

He points at you. "You gotta make more of those."

You show a thumbs up at him. "Will do!"

"Come over here.", Jazz calls to you.

Shaking your head, you decline, forming a snowball in your hands.

"No chance, I wanna beat yo ass!", you yell, laughing.

You look over to Lennox, who walks up to you, armed as well.

"Alright everyone, walk over to the your team of choice.", Lennox shouted for everyone to hear.

"And keep it even!", you add.

After some rustling, uncertainty and more yelling, everyone had found their teams.

Your team consisted of Ironhide, Lennox, Mudflap, Jolt, Dino, Mikaela and 3 other soldiers.

Jazz's team got Ratchet, Bumblebee, Epps, Skids who was adamant on beating his twin, Arcee, Wheelie, Sideswipe, Sam

"That is not even!", Skids complains in frustration.

A snowball hits him right in the face.

"Cuz we ain't 20 people. We're 19 so live with it!", Mudflap shouts across the freshly formed battlefield.

This was the non communicated sign to let the fire begin.

In the span of 5 seconds, what was a peaceful spot turned into a storm of flying snowballs.

You realized that you didn't agree on any rules, the rather big snowballs hitting you being a cruel reminder of that.

"Try not to make the humans fly away with your throws!", Ironhide calls out loudly, saving your and the other human's behinds.

Here’s an idea I wish I had a while ago,

You guys know the advent calendars that they make for the holidays?

What if Whumper created their own advent calendar for Whumpee? Or even Caretaker, Carewhumper or another Whumpee doing it for them.

How sweet/terrifying would that be? Everyday leading up to the holiday(s), a present is waiting for them. Bonus points if they’re found in a different location everyday and/or Whumpee has to solve a riddle to find it. This could also work for a Whumpee’s birthday.

Bonus bonus points if Whumpee does it for someone else. As a thank you for Caretaker or maybe even Carewhumper. As a thank you for Whumper from a conditioned Whumpee. Or a fuck you thank you for a Whumper from a Whumpee who’s plotting to kill/get back at them.
