The personas you have equipped should impact the dialogue choices you have

(Note: I have experience with p5, and somewhat p4, none of the others)

But I just think it would be neat if personas actually.... had an impact on social links, on the protagonist's personality. The name of the series is Persona, and while they are clearly a centrally important part of the games, it feels like there's a divide that keeps them relegated mostly to gameplay mechanic

They are described as facets of the self, as aspects of personality given form. So if the protagonist has certain persona, it would make sense for them to alter the dialogue options

Mostly I see this being feasible with social links. The persona of the matching arcana unlocks a bonus dialogue option that can give the high +++ points for ranking those up.

It shows that aspect of the self resonating with the person you're talking with more, by providing an answer you wouldn't otherwise give, because that's not a part of you at the time.

It would add DEPTH!!

Here yall go! some very underwhelming akiren and akechi headcanons!

Darkship, Nsfw, Abuse, SA, and Slight Persona 5 Royal spoilers ahead.

To preface this, this is an *technically* an AU, so little things are changed around. In my AU akechi doesn’t… well, die 💔

In my AU:

Goro Akechi is Gay.

Akiren is Unlabeled.

They are both sexually and romantically attracted to eachother.

First and foremost, Akechi is *obviously* a little insane. Well…. not a little. This bitch will randomly slap the shit out of Akiren, and will do it over dumb crap they would have forgotten in a month.

Akechi tends to be… manipulative and clingy.

“I love you, you must hate me so much.”

“If you leave me i’ll kill myself”

“I never did that, are you making stuff up to make me feel bad?”

In reality, Akechi *knows* what he is doing.

Akiren is too craving of the love his parents magically threw away from him. His parents never really gave him attention despite them living in the country-side. Akechi give him the “sweet” love his parents never did.

That’s why he doesn’t leave. Also because Akechi will beat the life out of him if he leaves, so he’ll have to crawl back anyways. Also the chance Akechi will live up to his words and actually kill himself.

Akechi will do disgusting things to Akiren. Akiren will let it happen.. None of their friends know. Akechi has the power to out all of them to the police for being phantom thieves.

Akechi being a celebrity puts Akiren in a even worse position, who will really believe a random lowly-delinquent kid that the beloved and charismatic high-school detective prince really is doing this to him?

You see, Akechi lives alone, leaving him to do almost whatever he wants in his own living space. He threatens Akiren, that if on he doesn’t come over when Akechi asks him to, he’ll use his power as he needs.

“What does Akechi do when Akiren is over?” You may ask. Depends on his mood and the degree of his mood and just what he feels like doing. Tying him up and beating Akiren one day, forcing Akiren in place and cutting him as deep as he wants, SAing Akiren until he can’t walk, and sometimes even all all at once.. Akiren has admitted to Akechi that sometimes he does find pleasure in it. This makes Akechi at most satisified.

I know this is a darker themed HC post, but Akechi does still care for Akiren. After the events of every visit, Akechi will care for Akiren. Give him water, clean him up, and love on him a little. He’s not that heartless.

Sometimes Akechi and Akiren do consensually have sex that they both like. Akechi usually is the one calling Akiren names and topping. Surprising seeing a Top Akechi AU, right? Of course, Akechi loves being in control. Akiren usually asks Akechi to degrade him, and Akechi most obviously does so.

Akiren really does love Akechi, even with all the mental insanity Akechi puts him through. He doesn’t inherently consent to being treated like this, but he is stuck like this, so he doesn’t complain. His friends haven’t caught on to the whole thing. Of course, they can tell they’re is something happening between the two. It’s suspicious for sure that Morgan’s can’t come with Akiren to Akechis house. With the little flirts between the two in mementos, it definitely is an agreeable thought between the rest of the phantom thieves that something is going on. What they don’t know is to the degree it’s at. Akiren does a damn good job hiding what’s up.

Alas, this is the end of my headcanons that i could think up.

This is surprisingly longer than i’ve really ever written for headcanons.

I HAVE ACTUALLY BRAINSTORMED ABOUT THIS A FEW TIMES .. . but if we are going down the route that s/o and joker will save akechi/prevent his fate, i honestly like the idea that s/o's persona would be sigyn. i don't know if this is a popular headcanon, but i have read a few fics that has this idea.

in norse mythology, sigyn is loki's wife. loki was found guilty for the murder of the beloved god balder, and as punishment skadi sent him away to a cave while bound to some stone slabs. she also put a poisonous snake above loki's head, which will drip venom and hurt him when it falls on his face. sigyn, being a faithful wife, holds a bowl over loki's head to prevent him from being hurt.

not to be that person but i genuinely believe akechi didn't die T_T because what was the point of the final scene of royal ending if he did!!!!!!!!!! if you guys want my thoughts on this feel free to send an ask <3

but i like the idea that akechi and s/o somehow mirror eachother's thief getup, and this especially makes sense if they have a lot of history with each other. (maybe s/o was a childhood friend, or akechi's first ever friend at work).

Thanks to you, I've finally purchased p5r to play. Which, considering I've never played any of the persona games before (despite being a rabid consumer of fics, I am a disliker of time management rpgs) so I can properly appreciate all the little details.

Highlights include yelling "That's my boyfriend/girlfriend!" whenever Goro and Sumi show up on the screen.

Unfortunately my BFF who is in charge of reading the guide so I can optimize would not let me name myself Shido Masayoshi when confessing to crimes. 😔 And I cry every time I don't have enough Guts to tell 'Igor' to fuck off.

Additionally, I love Coffee Dad with all my heart, but holy _fuck_ is he a dick to Akiren to start. Ouch bro. No wonder this poor protagonist suffers.

Ren is a bit of a thrill seeker who climbs trees, chases after birds, and jumps on furniture, so Takuto is constantly worried about him and keeping an eye on his son all the time. Even then, he doesn't want to cut Ren's excitement short, so he lets him explore and show off his abilities as long as it's within reason, encouraging him to do whatever makes him happy if he's being careful.

Takuto, on the other hand, is more like a lazy cat, haha. He does work a lot, especially on things that pique his interest like cognitive psience, but, when it comes to cat stuff... he's one very lazy cat lol. He likes naps and pets and lying in the sun. That's pretty much it :3

Still, he likes playing with Ren, as father and son, and he loves surprising him with new toys. Not for special occasions or anything, but just to brighten his day up a little, especially when he notices Ren is feeling down.

Sometimes, they cuddle with mom Rumi on the couch for some quality family time, watching TV, sharing snacks, or simply talking. Ren happily lays between her arms, purring until he falls asleep, and Takuto nuzzles her cheek repeatedly, trying to get her attention, making her giggle and scratch behind his ear until he falls asleep too. She loves touching their hair because it's always really soft and fluffy and, of course, she loves seeing them so happy! :3

And now that there's two of them, they can hiss at the TV together whenever Shido gets on the news lol
