Underrated QSMP Duos/Groups

Tina and Forever

Since day one Tina has had a soft spot for Forever, of which she stated during the Bagina date. She talked about how much of an impression he made on her when he welcomed them to the server, and she really did feel welcomed by his presence. During the Happy Pills arc, she was probably the most consistent person to ask and worry about his state outside of the Curing squad

Felps and Maxo

Fofoquieros who gossip about other people's love lives, enough said

Maxo and Baghera

They can match each others' energy so well in both comedy and with lore and investigations. They're also surprisingly keen on picking up on each others' subtleties

Forever and Pac

Probs not underrated after Happy Pills but they're moments sometimes go unnoticed. Pac is one of the people Forever trusts the most, and Pac looks up to Forever probably more than anyone save for maybe Fit. Pac was given a direct message in Forever's goodbye message, and his reaction should show you just how much they mean to each other (os moços <3)

Foolish, Mouse, Tina, Felps

They hung out together and did dungeon raids that one time after a big lore event and while Foolish, Mouse and Tina already know each other quite well, Felps fit in and matched their energy perfectly. 10/10 vibes that stream was

Ironmouse and Philza

Don't have too many moments together but when they do, they always make each other laugh. That one time they had to be spies but couldn't keep quiet cause they kept making each other crack up pretty much says it all

Tina and Badboyhalo

Somehow Bad annoys Tina more than Foolish does and that in itself is an accomplishment, but just like Bad and Foolish, Bad and Tina still hang out together quite a bit, and they're bickering has just become part of the friendship <3 (also this post)

Rivers and Roier

Rivers is a bit more reclusive so I don't see her talk to people that much, but her and Roier are great friends who can be themselves around each other. They're very funny together and have come up with some great bits/gimmicks, and we get to see Rivers being herself at some of her best when he's around. Roier also gets to joke around with her in ways that sometimes fly over other peoples' heads (sometimes its cultural, sometimes its just a Rivoier thing)

Etoiles and Antoine

They won't be underrated to the French community, but the non-French may have missed how great these two are (and all the French tbh, Baghera + Etoiles are another great duo). Etoiles and Antoine are those friends who have been married for 1000 years and also insults each other whenever the other one breathes; they know each other like no one else and can bring out the most in each other (whatever that "most" is depends on the time of day)

AyPierre and Maxo

Despite the breakup, at their peak Maxo and Pierre could always convince each other to say and do the most batshit things that most other people wouldn't be able to draw out of them. They make each other act way more cursed in the best way (see the Furry club for evidence); there's a sort of freedom in being able to find someone who's just as much of a freak as you are

Foolish and the Capybaras

Foolish actually knows the capybaras quite well, and has each of them distinctly memorized in his mind (he even named most of them). He pays attention to who they are as individuals, and he finds genuine delight in their antics. They've felt appreciated and happy enough with him that they allowed him to be their king, and its because of Foolish that they developed stronger lore relevancy

Dropping all my AU thoughts on you. (Lovingly) pt1??

Hunger Games AU: All of 141 bring previous victors from their games who find solace with each other in the capital. Would go through what they experienced in their individual games and how they won. But when the victors face off comes they all have to work together to end the games permanently.

Skyrim AU: Ghost works with the Dark Brotherhood. Johnny is 1000% a Companion. Gaz is a bard who is also attending the College of Winterhold to become a mage. Price is either a leader of the Companions, or he's a captain of the Imperial Guard. Don't exactly have a proper plot. And Gaz is obviously a redguard. Price is definitely a Nord. John is probably a mix of either Breton and Nord or something. It just makes sense. And Ghost is an Imperial. It just makes sense and I can't explain why!

Or, another Skyrim idea: Johnny as the dragonborn and Simon as a Daedric Prince of Akotosh who chooses to serve Johnny after doubting Alduin's reign.

Transformers AU: It could go either way, I envision it with Ghost as a Tranformer. He's the last of his squad who escaped captivity (I hope you catch on) and is sent to earth to protect Intel and find a place to stay. Runs into the annoying Scottish mechanic when his paint is dinged up. Or Simon as the angry mechanic who does not want to fix this alien thing that keeps yapping all day.

Rise of the Guardians AU: All the characters are there. If Y/n was present in this I'd make Ghost the angry easter Bunny who "hates his job". But if they weren't he's hands down Jack Frost. Sorry. Gaz can be Sandy (sandman) we all know who Price is, and Johnny can be the tooth fairy. If you know why, you know why.

Obviously a httyd AU: because everyone needs one. I'm already conjuring up things for Ghost's backstory it's insane.

Gaming AU: Price is a moderator for a large gaming community channel and streaming platform. He greenlights a lot of games that go through and plays them occasionally. RDR games and those likes. Johnny and Gaz definitely play the sims together. They'd play those games like Lethal Company and such. They try to play horror games but it doesn't always go well. Simon, (known to fans as Ghost) wears his mask or has one of those cool avatars. Plays horror games religiously and first person shooters which has attracted a glamorized following. Friends with Price and that's how he ended up getting together in the streaming group with Gaz and Johnny. They're annoying, but ok, they're cool.

Assassin's Creed AU: I've been working slowly on this for a while but Johnny as a sword/bow for hire whose work has slowed in the city he's at. So he packs up with friend Gaz who is going to a different city to study as a medic. Price is probably the king of said place. (I'm thinking of setting up in Greece or we're going to old Britain.) And Ghost is our famous assassin. And they meet and some stuff happens!

Not sure what to call this one (AU) As a young kid Johnny was diagnosed with ADHD and went to weekly day camp for kids like him. It wasn't particularly boring and Johnny had lots of fun. Until a new kid who is very socially awkward and reclusive starts coming. He's quiet and fidgety and doesn't make much eye contact. Johnny wants to be his friend. The story where Autistic Simon and ADHD Johnny become inseparable childhood friends.

Winged AU. I did a little thing on this a couple months ago. Some 30% of the popular are born with wings. Johnny is one of them. He's incredibly proud of his wings and it gives him some advantages and disadvantages in the military. Simon seems to hate Johnny for the sake of it. But every time Simon sees John's wings, he remembers the scars on his back and the pain of when his wings were torn off...

The Carceridiots In Drac's Castle

So, I've been reading...(glances away from screen) definitely a normal amount of @canyourfavesurvivecastledracula's posts. A very normal amount. Therefore: here, have The Carceridiots (a trio of characters in the Forgotten Realms universe, all stuck in Carceri--not a campaign party just a story.). Under the readmore. Because. Uh. Blorbos From My Brain No One Knows About. that said please look at them I'm begging you, (fair warning this ended up. LONG.)

1. Rev(elation) Lochlara Low-wisdom reborn artificer who only pissed off the cult of Orcus a little bit when they were alive. Supposed to die; being a very, very good artificer, did not. Unfortunately for them the wizard that killed them stuck their corpse in Carceri so no one would find it and revive or talk to it. They woke up knowing very little and slowly remembering Hey I Know How To Do Artificing. Kind of a sarcastic feral bastard. The key thing with Rev (and all of them to be fair) is timing. If it's pre-Carceri versus post-Carcering but pre-partying up with Codex and Alister versus post-escaping Carceri everything's wildly different. That said I'm normal about them so let's just talk about all the options,

Pre-Carceri: Dracula is already dead. Kidding, kidding, but pre-death Rev (or, more accurately, Revelation) is a terrifyingly skilled artificer who Does Not Put Up With This and also, like, can recognize a vampire. They're from the Forgotten Realms. Revelation assumes Drac's working off normal D&D vampire rules but it doesn't actually end up mattering because even if the Daylight Glyph of Warding doesn't kill him a Catapult'd knife to the throat will. The traps on their door are enough to take out Strahd, Dracula's doomed. Or they just Planeshift themself out. Or they--you get the idea. Usually I try not to go 'ohh they're just So Scary dracula couldn't even touch them' but for Revelation that is unfortunately true. Revelation, Terrifying Reclusive Artificer, can survive Castle Dracula.

Post-getting dumped into Carceri but pre-meeting the other idiots: honestly it's a tossup. Overall supernatural belivingness is the same as everyone else's and I'm not gonna keep mentioning it--they're from the Forgotten Realms. Takes the crucifix, not because they're polite but because they hoard things with a vengeance and on account of the amnesia have no idea if it's important or not but like they're pretty sure gods are real. On account of how people keep trying to smite them. That said it doesn't really matter because they don't shave. Scheherazadeing Dracula's a tossup also--the actual answer is funny, I think, which is that Rev can keep Drac's attention as long as they don't realize they need to. Unlike Revelation they can't immediately recognize a vampire (and, like, so what if the dude doesn't breathe! Rev doesn't either!) and while I think their knowledge of artifice, general talkativeness, and also maybe being a little dead is enough to keep Drac entertained for a while I do think their genuine sarcastic bastardness might win out and get them killed. Also, if they realize they need to be keeping Drac entertained, they're screwed because they're not as charismatic as they think they are. 100% goes exploring. Quite possibly dies there also. Gets salty about Drac stealing their Favorite Gun. Goes through a lot of the rest like they're Jonathan; almost gets killed a few times, doesn't hit Drac with a shovel but does shoot him, possibly dies from just Not Being Fun Enough. In general, is probably okay about most of the weirdness especially since they don't actually have moving blood, but, they don't make it out for a major reason--they have a tasty 8 strength and Cannot Climb to save their life. Literally. They fall off the wall and to their death*. *hypothetically if the dice rolled very very nicely and they succeeded on their death saves they could live but they'd get eaten by wolves probably and 1000 feet fall damage is probably enough to instakill a low-level artificer, which means that Rev, Weird Dude In Carceri Who Knows How Guns Work, cannot survive Castle Dracula.

Post-Escaping: Might be okay. Maybe. They're a much higher-level artificer and can probably just, like, cast Feather Fall. Might not take the crucifix, though--at this point they're salty about gods. That said they still do not shave. So it's fine. Still can't really Scheherazade that well, but they know more about artificing and have more cool stories to tell, so...it's probably okay. Ish. Has established some decent mind-control wards, so that helps. Still does not have blood. Still will not stop exploring, however they can cast Invisibility now. Unfortunately, the thing that saved them in Carceri might be their undoing--after everything, they're really codependent with Alister and Codex. So the loneliness sucks. But, who knows! Maybe Drac doesn't steal their Sending Stones! (He does. Rev is sad.) All that said, Rev can cast a lot more stuff. And, like, cast Fly. Which helps a lot with the climbing part. It's also entirely possible that Codex or Alister teleports to Rev and gets them out. On the whole, I do think Rev, Weird Artificer Who Escaped Carceri, can survive Castle Dracula; however, they have a much worse time of it than Revelation, and it's almost certainly a close shave sometimes.

2. Alister Seacrest A once-very-good water genasi Oath of the Watchers paladin who fucked up so so bad and accidentally let the Far Realm in through his own cowardice, permanently making him weird and eldritch and also super duper breaking his oath and losing his powers. So so depressed and sad. Scary when he's motivated to actually not die; unfortunately that is rarely true.

Pre-Carceri: Honestly this is equally likely to be the thing that breaks his Watcher's Oath. He absolutely takes the crucifix (he is PREPARED! he is READY! he is going to be THE BEST PALADIN!), at this point in his life he has great charisma and is 100% able to Scheherazade his way through the Count, doesn't explore (or at least stealths decently well)... and then he runs into the whole baby situation, tries to fight because he is being a GOOD PALADIN DAMMIT and either wins (on account of how he was a pretty good paladin) or starts losing, panics, bolts, possibly breaks his oath, falls into despair, and dies. Or just gets severely slurped, because mmmm righteousness. If he somehow makes it through that (which he won't), the same thing happens with Dracula. In sort: Alister Seacrest, Warden of Reality, cannot survive Castle Dracula. Despite it being literally his job.

Pre-Partying-Up: Oh he's so dead. He is so dead. Unless Dracula forgets about him because he's just sitting around moping, he's so so dead. Does not take the crucifix, however he does not shave so it doesn't matter. Cannot keep Dracula entertained at all. Dracula asks about his past and he just has a breakdown. Doesn't go exploring but it doesn't matter Dracula's already killed him. Alister Seacrest, Sad Ex-Paladin, cannot survive Castle Dracula, and none of us should be surprised by this fact.

Post-Carceri: ...Maybe. Maybe. Look, he's still Severely Sad, but he's not as bad. Like Rev, pretty codependent. Still does not take the crucifix; still does not shave. He has a beard because he didn't shave for so much of Carceri and then he shaved it off because he was going 'well okay I'm gonna be okay now! I am cleaning up!' and then his face looked weird and he decided to just have a well-groomed beard instead. Probably also goes exploring, but probably doesn't get caught. Can't Scheherazade super well, but honestly, he probably makes up for that by just genuinely being a very interesting person. The baby incident does mean that he wants Dracula dead, but! He has grown as a person! And he knows he can't take down Dracula alone. So he bides his time, definitely gets hypnotized again and definitely is annoyed about it, and then yeets himself out the window at the first opportunity he has, climbs down the wall, and vanishes into the woods. He's got pretty solid Wisdom. The Jon-a-than is nothing, he could live in those woods. Wolves? Pffft, he lived in Carceri for years. This is fine. He fucks off and finds Rev and Codex to help him kill Dracula. So, honestly surprising me a tiny bit, Alister Seacrest, Kind Of Okay Dude, can survive Castle Dracula! He's gonna be reaaaaal sad though. Dracula took his favorite bow :(

3. Codex Nolastname Mildly terrifying warforged wizard-rogue situation. Pissed off a very powerful wizard by stealing an even more powerful artifact that essentially fused with her; can kind-of-sort-of command its power. Shakily. Has never put up with anyone's shit a day in her life, but occasionally does like people. Occasionally. Climbs walls constantly, to the frustration of everyone around her.

It is important that we note that Codex, as a robot, does not have blood. Moving on,

Pre-Carceri: The closest to a normal human we're sending in here, honestly. Probably is here to rob Dracula. Takes the crucifix 'cos it looks shiny and she can probably sell it to some theologist for a few gold; does not shave anyway so it doesn't matter. Why do none of my blorbos shave? Anyway. Obviously she explores--she's here for a heist! Might not even bother Scheherazadeing Dracula, which could get her killed--she doesn't have great charisma. But she is a very good thief, so...she might just be hiding in his walls for a month? I'm not sure. I don't think she eats food. Or drinks. Or needs to breathe. So...*shrug*. Either way, as a rogue who can cast Invisibility, her Stealth is through the roof. She finds the hoard, stuffs it in a bag of holding, and then bolts. At which point Dracula probably thinks she's already gone. I really thought she'd die, but no, her obscene Stealth modifier and propensity for a) being fully awake while she sleeps, b) never eating, drinking, or breathing, and c) climbing walls means that Codex, Crime Master, can survive Castle Dracula, probably.

Pre-Partying-Up: Similar to Pre-Carceri, but she's a worse wizard but also has terrible magics within her. Honestly things probably go similarly--if all else fails, Feather Fall and yeeting yourself out a convenient window always works, which means that Codex, Thief With Some Spooky Mechanisms, can also survive Castle Dracula, probably. Unless her spooky mechanism goes out of control and she explodes and dies! Which is possible.

Post-Escape: Honestly, she's even more well off--post escaping, Codex can actually control her Spooky Mechanism, which means in addition to obscene stealth modifiers, wizard magic, and not eating breathing drinking or being unaware while sleeping, she has terrible magics that archmages want stored away at least somewhat at her command. So she's probably fine, and can still survive Castle Dracula.

...Wow apparently I had thoughts about this. Cool. Go off, me. Now go actually write things instead of rambling about your blorbos.

So the other day while I was talking to my friend about Twisted Wonderland and obey me the subject had come up what dorm which each of the brothers and Side characters be in and I was like oh my God I need to know so I'm thinking about it and here's where I think each of the characters would go:

Also I feel like Rook would gave A FUCKING FIELD DAY WATCHING ALL OF THEM! man some prime stalking material for Rook, The tweels, & azul. Think about the blackmail potential

The Brothers:

Lucifer: Heartslabyul

I say this because one he's such a stickler for the rules and he likes to have some kind of order in the house. Kind of a buzzkill if you may.

This would be like a match made in heaven for him. Finally some DAMN order.

Maybe he'd get some rest in this dorm. He won't get it but hey that's not the point. (Seriously tho, I doubt he'd get any if Ace & Deuce are still in this dorm and with all the chaos they cause. Plus he'd be so worried about the trouble his brothers would get into in the other dorms. *Cough cough* Mammon *cough*)

He would ABSOLUTELY THRIVE UNDER the queens rules (he would also think some of them are incredibly dumb but he would never voice this out loud ever).

He would also be a huge enforcer of the rules (he'd be like riddle post Overblot) everyone would be terrified to not follow the rules.

Riddle & him would be a force to be trifled with.

He's also one of the top students and takes studying super seriously.

Mammon: Pomfiore

For one he's a model and he takes massive pride in how he looks.

Where ELSE WOULD THE GREAT MAMMON GO?!?

Obviously he know this is the BEST CHOICE

And best of all Lucifer can't tell him what to do (he can and will being in a different form won't stop him . Crowley would ENCOURAGE this behavior from Lucifer much yo Mammon's dismay)

He may not be the best at making potions & stuff but he has his strengths.

Don't let this man anywhere NEAR AZUL & THE TWEELS! HE'D BE ONE OF THE FIRST PEOPLE TO TAKE THE EASY WAY OUT.

He's not the sharpest tool in the shed and WOULD 1000% fall for the contracts that Azul makes.

So keep him away from them or don't if you want an entertaining show to watch due to the aftermath of dealing with the fallout.

He'd definitely see this dorm as the party dorm.

Mans would PROBABLY get collared by Riddle. I mean have you met him. He would also probably have his ass beat by Vil, cuz he would see something in Vil's room & try to sell it

He would MOST DEFINITELY be caught by Vil himself or Rook and MAN I WOULDN'T WANNA BE HIM when he's caught

Crowley & Lucifer making punishments for him would be oh so horrible

He'd be a mess at the end of it

Him & Ruggie pickpocket buddies

Would try to steal from Leona and ruggie would NOT BE HAVING THAT

Leona's his! I mean he has to protect Leona's valuables that's it

Would definitely befriend Ace & Deuce and become part of the dumb ass gang

Head empty and always at the Center of the problems being started

I mean have you MET LEVI? THIS DORM IS THE PERFECT MATCH.

For one he's like a genius with technology

Him and Idia would become fast friends or Rivals. There's no in between. (I much prefer the friends route)

Like they have a hard time talking irl but give them gaming headsets and a game where they can play MAN THEY'LL TALK UP A STORM

Finally someone who can understand the other and not just a normie

Ortho would be like oh no, not another one.

He would definitely try dragging both outside to touch some damn grass.

They're creepily similar & have similar mannerisms

Would try & have a contest to see who knows more trivia facts about anime

Would also like Lilia besides the fact he looks like a normie

He may be the youngest brother but he is one of the most powerful

He is one of the more serious characters and takes studying super seriously

You can't convince me that they both wouldn't go on a HUGE INFO DUMP about the types of gargoyles on the school campus

Would also bond over the fact they're both not huge fans of technology

He would also definitely ask a ton of questions about Malleus & (his horns) I mean his lineage

Sebek would get super offended at all the questions like HOW DARE THIS DEMON ASK SO MANY & SUCH BOLD QUESTIONS OF THE GREAT MALLEUS DRACONIA

He definitely wouldn't always get along with Sebek because of his personality

Those two might get into some verbal shouting matches

Would definitely make tea and go on walks with Malleus late at night since its super peaceful

And they would just enjoy each other company undisturbed & without talking

Another which I think is a perfect fit.

For one he's a really honest guy but he's not always the oblivious himbo people make him out to be.

He & Jack would MOST DEFINITELY BE WORK OUT BUDDIES

They would definitely meal prep together (or try to)

Jack is stunned at how much Beel can consume without losing any of his body mass or muscle

The dorm is all about being strong and a lot of them are super well built

He also has an incredible Sense of smell

Which also a lot of characters have in this dorm

His appetite would put everyone else's to shame (Crowley is crying because of all the expenses adding up due to it)

He would be a great spell drive player naturally

Leona would respect him (he wouldn't admit it) since Beel keeps to himself and doesn't talk too much.

Someone (cough Ruggie cough) would accidentally steal some of Beel's food and the whole dorm never forgot it

The rampage he went on was so memorable that people called it a close second to what Riddle did to Ace and the tart

Honestly nobody expected him to get so upset about that

Since then nobody messes with his food

Belphie: Octanavinelle

Now I wasn't 100% sure where he'd go but considering Belphie I feel like he'd be a shoe on here.

He's smart, cunning, clever, and determined to get what he wants

And will do whatever it takes to get it

Even if the means or manner is not always the best

He would either love or Hate Azul

And the tweels he wouldn't mind because he sees a bit of himself & Beel in them

He definitely would hang out with Jade a bit because he is very similar to him

Man u do not wanna get on either's bad side

He is also a brat so he would definitely try and prank azul all the time because he doesn't like to be told what to do

Ruggie would definitely get a kick outta it & laugh at Leona's face

Be careful if you come across both since they both can have tempers when their tired & cranky

He just doesn't care and Leona respects him for it but also is HIGHLY PISSED OFF because this damn herbivore stole his spot respect but also fuck you

Belphie would definitely have stolen the spot to piss of Leona because he thinks it's funny

Alatus was once told a story by his Master. A sinner who falls into hell is rewarded for his only good deed, choosing not to kill a spider. As his reward, a thread is lowered down for him to climb out of Hell. In the end, the sinner remains in Hell because he kicks aside others and the thread breaks. Alatus doesn't remember why his Master told him this story but he still empathizes with the sinner. He would have done the same or asked for this 'saviour' to extend their hand down instead. That way he could pull them down.

"Xiao? Are you okay?"

He slowly opens his jade eyes to see you hunch over, peering down above him, eyebrows furrowed together in concern as you reach down and softly tap his temple. He allows you to take a moment to do whatever you want with his face before he reaches up to grasp at your wrist gently, holding back on his want to rub circles into your skin. His reminiscing can wait for now.

"What is it?" he asks curtly, sitting up and resting his elbow on his raised knee. You pout at his curt tone but shrug it off as you take a seat next to him and lean your shoulder against his. You dig into your bag and pull out slips of commission papers and hand it over to him to read through what needed to be done today. A few Hilichurl camps needed to be taken care of, sabotaging a slime balloon, all tasks that seem mundane to someone who fought in a war. As he's preoccupied, you take a moment to look at Xiao's face. He's just the slightest bit unnerved whenever you do this because you always seem to know what's bothering someone.

"Were you dreaming of her again?" you ask quietly. The silence is a good enough answer but you nod understandingly. You never knew his Master personally but you did fight a long strenuous battle against her. From one look you could tell she was a manipulative and cruel woman. While it may not be very kind to say, you were glad that with her passing, Xiao would be free from her physically. But mentally...there were still some things to work out. But Xiao was a very reclusive person, especially with his emotions, so pushing him any further would only make him irritated and closed off.

"Venti and Zhongli are joining our party for a bit if that’s alright. They'll help out a lot with our commissions and travelling. I like Liyue a lot but climbing mountains stresses my shoulders out," you laugh as you change the subject to something less depressing. Standing up as you dust your clothes off before turning to Xiao and holding your hand out for him to take. He stares at it hard for a few moments before huffing and reaching over to clasp your hands together.

It has been so frustratingly peaceful since the war ended. He's not used to it and he can still feel the lick of cutting winds and the heavy pressure of rocks against his body when he sees the bard and funeral parlor consultant just on the horizon. If it were up to him, he wouldn't play nice with these two Archons but they're important to you so he bites his tongue until he tastes blood. He knows the Archons do the same. As soon as the two of them spot you both, Venti is already rushing and tackling you to the ground in his excitement.

"Traveler! I haven't seen you in ages. You need to come and visit Mondstadt more," Venti cried into your shoulder as you awkwardly patted him on his back. Always with the dramatics but you cared about Venti all the same. Xiao scoffed before flicking his jade eyes to meet gold as Zhongli stared down at him cautiously. Since the war ended, everyone seemed to have this warped idea that Alatus had some vendetta against the Gods and Celestia but he was fighting because he was told to.

"Xiao. It's good to see you again," Zhongli said to him. Xiao just nodded in acknowledgement. Even with this new mortal form, Morax never bothered to change his eyes. His gaze alone held the weight of the mountains he had thrown. If Xiao hadn’t been under one of them before, he might have crumbled under the pressure.

"Alright alright, Venti. I promise I'll drop by sometime this month but we still have commissions to do!" you laugh as you haul the bard onto his feet and swat his cape down from the speckles of dirt. He grins cheekily at you, linking pinkies with you to seal your promise, before suddenly lighting up as if he just remembered something.

"Actually! Before we start anything, I need to speak to Mr. Zhongli and Xiao. Super important archon things, you know?" Venti nodded to himself as the two mentioned people stared at him with varying levels of confusion. But Venti just waved their worries off and linked his arms with both men as he dragged them off to a more secluded corner with a surprising amount of strength, “We’ll be right back!”

"Do what you need to do but don't take too long," you called after the trio as you trailed off to the side, messing with your bag of commission papers and gear. Xiao hated that. He knows that these two Archons are your...friends.. but shouldn't you be a bit more cautious? Just because they have mortal forms doesn’t make them human, it doesn’t make him human either.

"Hey, there's no need to look so scary. There really is something important I wanted to talk to the two of you about," Venti speaks up as soon as you're out of earshot. It still gives Xiao whiplash whenever he drops the persona and switches back to Barbatos. "Since Morax is the only Archon I trust with this information and, while I don't trust you one bit, you're the one that's with her all the time you should also know. She's ascending to Celestia."

Barbatos gauges both of their reactions. Morax seems visibly surprised, his eyes slightly widened a fraction, while Xiao has no idea what that means. His Master didn’t exactly give him a history lesson on Celestia or Archons, just pointed to who was his enemy and dealt punishments when he failed.

"And what the hell does that mean?" Xiao asks as he crosses his arms. Venti appears for a second as the bard pouts before continuing.

"It's like I said. A mortal who performs great, heroic feats can ascend to Celestia and achieve godhood. Where they will watch over their people from above. I've only seen this once before so it took me a while to recognize the signs. But 1000 years ago, I helped a woman named Vennessa with her ascension and with the traveler's recent actions with winning the war. Well, you don't need me to explain the rest," Barbatos finishes. Zhongli simply hums as he cups his chin and absorbs what's just been heard. He doesn’t seem troubled by the news at all.

"Have you told her about this?" Zhongli questions as he looks towards the direction that you left. Venti shakes his head. “That would mean that she would vanish from this world."

“I know she loves this world. Whether she wishes to ascend or not isn’t my choice but I want her to continue her travels with that beloved smile on her face. But if she does choose to ascend, she will need our help," Venti stares at the two of them in a mix of pride, sadness, and determination. "Can I count on you two for your help?"

It's a complete white noise in Xiao's ears as his surroundings fade out. He thinks he can see Zhongli nod to Venti wishes, the ever calm smile on his face to match the cheery grin on Venti’s. What, now you want to become a God? Leave this world behind? That’s not funny. You made him give up everything. While in your eyes, your blinded hero syndrome, you think you've liberated him from a soulless conquest but he still has nothing. You still took everything away from him and your only compensation was to have him by your side until he left himself. But now you want to leave without a warning? That’s not fair. You don’t get to take back what you owe. He won't allow you to leave him behind.

“Did something happen? Did Venti say something unnecessary again?” you ask out of the blue. Zhongli and Venti had returned to their respective regions once your commissions were all finished. Since the three of them disappeared to talk Archon business, Xiao had seemed even more tense and aloof than usual. As if he was out of it? You knew that everyone was still suspicious of Xiao and they were angsty to leave you alone with him, but you knew Xiao would never do anything to hurt you. When he doesn't answer, you slowly reach over and you subtly nudge his head up onto your lap and look at him curiously. Before reaching down and cupping his cheek. He leans into your touch before turning his face into your palm and leaving a soft kiss. It makes you giggle at the ticklish feeling as you look at him so softly. It annoys him.

"You were never connected to the war and yet you fought against us anyways. Even when I killed so many people, why did you choose to spare me?" he asked as you blinked at him before giving it some serious thought. He went on a rampage and almost destroyed the world. It was fun. He doesn't have any regrets at all because he hated humanity. His own Master was human after all. But then you appeared and stopped him. A random outsider that wanted to play the hero. He thought it was cute. Perhaps he had underestimated the lengths someone would go to to save the world they loved but when he fell defeated at your feet. He said that this wouldn't change a single thing. He would still scorn humanity and what they did to him. He was so sure he would die there but you chose to extend your hand down to him instead despite what your companions felt. Even when the war ended and he had nowhere else to go, you offered him to travel with you. Nothing changed about his mentality, every person that chose to talk to him was quickly scared away with piercing eyes. Every conversation started would end in silence. Every touch would be met by the tip of his spear. But you would link your hands together with his and smile brightly, and he would always end up forgetting his trauma for a moment. You’ve... become precious to him.

"I love this world and everyone in it. You are a part of that world even if you tried to destroy it. It...didn't seem fair to leave you behind when you've suffered just as much," you finish but it only seemed to spark a wave of deep anger inside of Xiao. He quickly lurched up, almost knocking your forehead with his, before grabbing the scruff of your shirt collar and yanking you forward.

"Cut it out with that "love of everything" crap. It's revolting. So you're saying the people I killed weren't worth avenging? Do you think I'm so weak that I need protection? It's one thing to try and please everyone but at least have some awareness would you?" he snarled as he pushed you to the ground. He knew he was being harsh on you and you had every right to walk out and abandon him but you didn't. Of course, you wouldn't. You needed him as much as he needed you. You just reached over and tenderly reached your hand and placed it next to his. Damn it, why is he always the one stuck worrying about you.

"Then you want to protect me, right? Then don't break your promise. You left me alive which means you have a duty to live for me," he takes your hand in his and squeezes hard. Digging his nails into your own until crescents appear and tiny specks of blood appear so you know he's serious. He doesn't care how you interpret his words, just so long as you never leave him.

"Don't die on me, Hero."

It's been a few hours since the conversation so it's pitch black outside but Xiao was never one to sleep. Even if he could, his mind is too loud to fall asleep too. He's startled when you melt against him fully asleep. Honey smooth as you curl up to his warmth and cling to him like moss to a rock. He can feel his cheeks start to flush as his heart begins to pound against his chest. He can't breathe as his world is filtered through each beat that drums against his ears. He's not sure if there's actually something wrong with him or if it's just been a while since someone got so close and his instincts haven't left.

He's just realized it. He's feeling pain. The feeling in his chest is black but he can't claw it away. It's strange in a way that he can't explain it, that he's never felt before, that he's never felt the need to experience. His life had been warped by battle and a constant push to submit to his Master. They are all things he knows but the gentle words that come from your mouth, the bright eyes that hold the world, the horrible ice-hot feeling inside of him is so foreign yet too easy. He doesn't like it.

It makes him feel...clean in a way. Enlightened perhaps? His Master is long gone and it's like you said. He's free now. Free to make his own decisions and live his life how he wants to. He carefully turns over so as to not startle you away as he really looks at you. You look so peaceful in his arms, eyelids shut without worry, face slack without nightmares, breathing so softly against him. If you weren't so close to him that he couldn't feel the rise of your chest, he wonders if he would think you were dead. He stares at the lock of hair swaying back and forth with each breath like a starved man. The strange feeling doesn't stop. He hates it. It's everything that goes against him and what he knows and everything he should want. He's supposed to be the villain in your story, he should kill you right now-

"Xiao..." he hears you mumble beside him as you lean further into his arm. Damn it. How low is he going to go?

“What are you thinking about now? You just need to think about me. Don’t think about anything else...but me” Xiao sighs before he wraps his arms around you and pulls you into him until you're snug against his chest. Close to him, where he can touch you, where you belong. Not with Morax or Barbatos. Not with humans but beside him. He closes his eyes and nuzzles his head into your hair and he stares off into the distance. The feeling never leaves him for the remainder of the night.

"Ah! There you are. I was running around crazy looking for you," he turns his hair to see your flushed form pulling yourself up onto the mountain cliff, "When I woke up I couldn’t find you anywhere! You gave me a scare there."

He hates you. He hates you.

Words of his previous master ring in his ears, almost as if her very soul is wrapping around him as she whispers in his ear how weak he is. Ones with power that refuse to take what they want because they rather live in the comfort of nothing. Be greedier, take what belongs to you.

"Xiao?" you say as his piercing eyes stare directly through you. His Master always told him that she loved him. Even if he hated her he still clung to that false love. Of being wanted. Isn't love for a single person vile? Would feeling such emotions for one person instead of "everyone" bring you down to reality? It's not fair that you've crawled your way into his heart while you walk along in bliss. Now that he thinks about it. It was so simple. He just needs to monopolize your thoughts and love. This time it won't be as friends.

"I love you."

He'll pull you down to where he is. You extended your hand down to hell so it's your fault. He'll drag you down kicking and screaming if he has to. You left him alive. You have to live for him and by him. He's not letting go.
