Where are the Ponds Twins in Amphibia?
This post contains Spoilers for The Book of Bill below.
So in Season 2 of Amphibia there is a episode titled Wax Museum where Anne and the Plantars meet the Curator aka Mr. Ponds. Mr. Ponds is an alternate universe version of Stan Pines, somethings Frog Soos hypothesizes about. In addition in another episode Marcy is seen flipping through a book that contains an image of Bill Cipher. But something that is notable is the absence of this world's Pines Twins.
So through Lost Legends and The Book of Bill we know a multiverse exists, but Bill tells us something interesting about it. Bill says the following about Dipper and Mabel. "They don't consider for a single moment the sheer improbability that they got to exist in the ONE timeline where they kept all their bodily organs, out of the INFINITE timelines where they were erase, shattered, drowned, frozen, or dismembered before they could make it to 13." So I question, if the Amphibia world a timeline where the Mystery Twins weren't so lucky?

Amphibia Theory: Hop Pop isn't actually Sprig and Polly's grandpa, but adopted them after their parents were killed in the heron attack.
I've been rewatching Amphibia recently and I really believe Polly and Sprig are not Hop Pop's biological grandchildren.
Here me out: this is not anti-adoption or anything. Hop Pop adores these kids! They are HIS, blood or not. But I noticed a few details that had me thinking that there may have been room to address the loss of Sprig and Polly's parents or even fully address Hop Pop's origin story. Just hear me out:
Hop Pop loves to talk about his family. He references them all the time. There was even a whole episode exploring aspects of their ancestors. However, he never mentions his direct family, specifically a possible spouse or bio children.
So my theory goes as this: Hop Pop was the parents' neighbor and didn't mind looking after them occasionally. He never married (maybe he never loved anyone but Sylvia Sundew) and didn't have children, thus he was very fond of the whole family.
I also think Hop Pop might have had a rising theatre career at this time and traveled a lot. He might have been at a rehearsal or audition the night of the heron attack, explaining his guilt of not being home that night.
Following the attack, Hop Pop officially adopted Polly and Sprig as Plantars and no one questioned it. Of course, he had to quit acting altogether to focus on raising his grandchildren.

Who man I paused Amphibia a while ago but while I was scouring the floor for Lady Liberty's face I had a theory.
Okay so what if the reason Anne gets really tired after using her blue powers is because the gem wasn't fully charged? And so it has adverse affects? Effects? English hard and I'm a native speaker. BUT uh yeah that was it.

somebody tell me: did the calamity box send them to where they would thrive best or did it send them to where they needed to be to learn a lesson?
i personally think it's a mix of the both, but maybe more of the latter because sasha learned how to lead for the greater good and not her selfish interests, anne learned how to do things not only for others but because she wanted to and marcy learned self-confidence... to am extent?

I could talk endlessly on my page about how Felicia met Wally as Walliam in Ribbitvale during her tea travels outside the valley 10 years before the series' main events, and how Wally is secretly Ivy's long-lost father and Felicia never told the two about it, but I think it'd be better to show you how close their colors are

Sasha - the heart of the trio
Hello everyone who is ready to read this, I would like to leave here some of my thoughts regarding the animated series Amphibia (2019). Please note, I am writing this after watching the episode: Barrel's Warhammer (2x34?, in Czech it is probably numbered differently, they published it as two connected chapters, so I don't know…), well anyway, in conclusion, I haven't seen the whole thing yet, so all my non-watching theorizing will be based on just the chapters up to this episode.
The main idea I want to break down now is the Calamity Gems and their "masters" in this case the mistresses. Probably none of us will dispute that the green stone - (Wit) rightfully belongs to Marcy.
She is very smart, inquisitive, determined to get to the bottom of everything, so much so that sometimes she overlooks everything that stands in her way… Which we learn from her already in the first introduction… Yes, she is without a doubt the pillar of intelligence of our trio.
But how did she get her stone? Did she solve all the mysteries of the temple, trick him, outsmart him? No. She had to suppress her ego, her desire to be the smartest, she had to show humility. She had to stop walking over corpses as was her usual habit. The idea that the more one knows, the less one actually knows, is somewhat carried over here. Which is great. Yes, it wasn't exactly the smartest way the director show it, but the idea is there. The whole series kind of doesn't have a very good storytelling ability, you have to guess the points, what the authors wanted to say… But about that another time.
We have two stones left, and in the following sentences I will try to explain why, in my opinion, it would be better if our heroines exchanged them.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The second stone that our group charged is a blue stone: Heart. Anne wins him over for her empathy, devotion to others, and for the newly charged responsibility that she only learned with the Plantars.
And in a way it makes sense. Anna was very irresponsible when she first came to Amphibia. In some moments she was really terrible to the point that I was surprised that they actually chose such a character as the central one.
I'll allow myself a small remark outside: Actually, we meet Sprigg first, he is actually introduced as the main character, which makes sense, because he is the more morally mature and more typically main character than Anne…
Anyway, I'm not saying that learning responsibility isn't beneficial for Anne. If it was just these two, then I have nothing against Anne as a heart at all.
But there aren't just two.
Sasha has by far the best performance of the character in the entire series. She is mysterious. From Anna's flashback, we learn that she is manipulative, rude, and hates being contradicted. But we also learn that she fiercely protects her friends and that she knows how to deal with people and frogs, and that she is a true leader, just for now not exactly best one.
She takes a leadership role in their group of friends and I'm curious to learn more about why she is the way she is and why these three became friends. At first glance, they are really quite different…
Well, for many reasons, even though I'm not there yet it's clear that Sasha will charge the last pink stone, acording to wiki the red stone: Strength.
Well, no doubt, Sasha is strong. And persistent. There is no doubt about it.
So why don't I think she should be the wielder of the power stone?
Because it has no meaning to her. From my point of view so far, there are no really challenge for her to get the stone. Sasha has held both pillars of the rock since the beginning.
Yes, this might be the moment when I should first finish watching the entire series and then quack, but… Yeah, I don't know what she'll have to put herself through to showcase those qualities, but while the other two lacked the other stone qualities to begin with, Sasha really had both, so whatever she has to overcome, it won't be in the same vein as Marcy and Anne.
On the other hand, Sasha sure has a heart. She loves her friends very much, their loss certainly destroys her, and she quickly established a relationship with Grim. And she definitely LACKS RESPONSIBILITY. Both in her behavior towards those around her, and mainly towards her two friends.
And Anne is undoubtedly physically strong and definitely, beyond all doubt she LACKS PERSISTENCE in many ways. I'll elaborate on that.
I'll start with Anne. In the very first chapters we understand that he lives in Sasha's shadow. That he submits to her in many ways and doesn't stand up for his opinion. She lacks the strength to stand up for herself.
But at the end of the first season, he is able to stand up for himself and others and defeat Sasha. So, apart from physical strength, she also learned mental strength, which is very important.
As for her persistence. Yes, there are activities in which Anne shows tremendous persistence, such as fighting someone, protecting her friends, not giving up, etc. But at the same time, she's lazy, she has trouble staying focused, and I think that's getting better over time. So if the final task involved something like that, that would be cool and I think it would work. Also, it makes more sense to find wit and strength first than heart, it's like they skipped something…
I'll also just mention the physical strength base of both girls. We know about Anna that she plays tennis, which is a solo game by the way, just to mention, and she took regular martial arts. She is a very athletic girl. On the other hand, Sasha draws on her years as a cheerleader, which is a very physically straining activity, but it is definitely not a traditional combat activity. Plus, it's mostly team-based, and it's also about cheering and supporting…
I think it would make more sense with Anna if the strength was especially in the sense of inner strength, but mostly I think Sasha would be a better heart.
And finally, a poll: I'm curious how many people have the same opinion and how many people will send me to the shack with my theory.

Welcome to this blog!
I'll share here, as the name supplies, occasional theories about Amphibia. Sometimes added with research, most of the time just for fun. The hyperfixation never ends, though, so aside from the theories already prepared, some might emerge from the *checks notes* 5th Amphibia rewatch.
No schedule is set for now, but it might be in the future if I find I have plenty to go around!
If you only want to stick around for the serious or the fun stuff, you're in luck, each post will be categorized so that you know what to expect :
- Unlikely, it just scratches my brain right : Little to no foundation and very unlikely, but hey, we're here to let brains have fun sometimes
- Unlikely, but it's fun to think about : Shaky foundation, but a detail or another which fits the character would make this possible, or make it into a fun AU/headcanon.
- Somewhat likely : It fits with some canonical elements, has backup in the show, and tracks !
- Very likely : Possibly something the fans has already speculated for with more detail, and which I'm very sure about!
The mention "realistically possible" will add on to the worth of the analysis since, even if it's not possible in cartoon universe, it's possible in the interpretation of the characters and the world around them!
If more people are interested in this, then feel free to DM me, I'm always willing to talk more!
And let me know if you had the same theories before and posted about them but didn't notice! I'd rather stray from popular theories who are very likely and stick with my random ones rather than steal! Unfortunately, great minds think alike and I can't guarantee to have read everyone's posts or minds, so please remain understanding if a similar theory experience did happen! :'D
I will also ask that you try and be nice when arguing about the theories! While it is fair, normal and valid to disagree with one, these are still made for fun and should stay as such! I really don't want any drama and am welcome to suggestions but sometimes a theory/headcanon isn't about being right, it's about being creative :)
Thank you for reading, looking forward to share the theories, and have a fantastic day!

While reflecting on @thefirstiloveyou’s post, I realized something, Mike isn’t the only character who displays animalistic behaviors.
There’s "someone" who seems a little "too unfazed" by that scorching desert heat!
Which reminds me of Dustin’s interpretation of reptiles… and how Will fits that description perfectly (at least when he’s not being hijacked by the Mindflayer).
Camera pans to the 'new species' (allegedly)
There’s "someone" known for seamlessly blending into his surroundings, carrying reptilian traits like camouflage to a suspiciously expert degree. @howtobecomeadragon @greenfiend 's post READ
Amphibians vs Reptiles
An intriguing possibility, both Will and Mike @thefirstlioveyou , @cypherheartnokey (possible alien influences) could represent some form of alien-human hybrid species. They both weirdly align with heat-loving reptiles or amphibians, the kind that might just operate under an entirely different set of reproductive rules or instincts etc.

Polliana vs the Newtopian Crown?
So in the episode titled Family Shrub we learn about the Plantar's secret family history that was hidden behind a wall.
Something I noticed when rewatching this episode is Polliana's training dummies had watch appeared to be a version of what I believe is the Newtopian royal symbol. So I wonder did other members of the Plantar family like Polliana know King Andrias' true side and maybe fought against him. In addition I wonder if this was foreshadowing things to come.

rolls up sleeves. today's short guys.
the short brought me SO much to think about — particularly, how the news outlets DO exist in the outernet, and how the showdown was seen from the stickcity — which does confirm that if they were around, it was impossible for vic not to see at least bits of it before.
so in this post i am . once again . compiling my thoughts into a big victim theory that tied in my Head
victim theory: the point the show went down
again. warning this is me going on a RAMBLE that is so insane that i constantly switch from one topic to another. expect insanity
in case i interpret something incorrectly in your opinion, or forget a major detail — feel completely free to add on! my memory is horrible
so. presenting the thing that the outernet and the internet are connected with each other, yet still have a barrier in-between them there is a possibility of outernet citizens not having access to it full-time. at the same time, so much stuff is digitally reliant on pc tech that i doubt outernet sticks wouldnt know about it at all
im thinking that when victim has been ‘unsaved’, one way or another — they couldve gotten into the outernet, also one way or another (this is a raw supposition that it would happen that early but). which made them separated from the pc/internet in the first place — severing them from knowing about how things really work there aside from what they learned when needed to survive, as well as knowing about the existence of other cursors.
and given the last, when showdown happened — this was their first cue to become involved in the whole hollowhead tragedy. a thing they didn't know before due to being out of the pc — which was also the point where they became obsessed with revenge.
we now DO know that the outernet has news outlets; whether they saw it on the news or themselves, this was their first step into getting revenge. (at the same time, seeing it on the news would sort of? elaborate on why rocket tech most likely also streams news n such. perhaps as some weird kind of thanks "for showing me where my torturer was" or, perhaps, wanting others to see what has been going on too/how much of a danger cursors are. it would support the freedom guy=victim theory just a tad bit if victim Did care about stick rights prior showdown)
(another point — i must mention that we now know that sticks have phones, and most likely their own in-gadget social media now — but we don't know if they have the same internet as humans do. honestly the whole reason why the theory of sticks not having full access to internet didn't crumble yet.)
going to investigate, either by themselves or having already been in rocket — they could've possibly found the tech dark owned (as well as the mega blaster that literally shoots things in the ip sky) and, importantly, dark's own portals to the internet — and perhaps, have used them, for minor things and scraps or, something bigger. like actual travel.
whether by connecting the cursor with alan or not, by the point of them getting into the internet they DEFINITELY saw what happened with them, chosen, dark. (ava 4 as well, but it is talked about later.)
and thats the point where theyd get the adobe tools = i believe they would have to go to a pc to get them, but i also am not against the possibility of them just. downloading it cracked or something. they got the tools and. if thats the point where they left the pc/internet and didnt come back (perhaps, danger of another user) it mightve been the reason they didnt know about the powers of second.
this whole thing elaborates on why they found the showdown in chosens memories first — having seen what happened, they wanted to fully understand what went down — perhaps where such power came from. it was kind of.. impossible to see sec from such distance? and there werent any news outlets seen next to the showdown site itself, which could explain why they didnt know about secs powers once again.
the thing that makes me doubt this in a way is the reason why they didn't go to alan right away, having acquired the adobe tools. but there is a thing i believe might explain that — victim saw, and realized that chosen, dark and them are peas of the same pod; that they managed to destroy alan's computer — and that they don't have such power to do the same ¯\_(:{)_/¯
having came back to the outernet, with the adobe tools — they might've started to enact the plan of getting revenge by gaining power that they first lacked, now especially that they had some tools to do so. them getting the instruments that outernet citizens didn't have before, perhaps didn't fully know about — they could've been seen as someone who brought something special to the outernet. they could've been a person that, aside from revenge, would want to protect sticks (it would genuinely clash with how they treated chosen, but at the same time i can believe it was their own anger of not getting what chosen "had". power and ability to get revenge on their creator.) — being seen as some sort of saviour or, at least, someone powerful — this is how they could've gotten up the career stairs of rocketcorp in the first place.
what makes me think of the box episode — this could've been the point they have acquired enough power to challenge alan, causing them to FINALLY hang up posters after 5 years (sorry it just tied in so well in my mind thats why i capitalized it. like holy shit thats the reason for posters being late as shit)
knowing about the showdown, they wouldn't put up dark as well, whether she was mia or . yknow.
what EXACTLY the power to challenge an animator, a god requires. oh this is a brainworm of mine.
knowing about the showdown#2, perhaps having investigated it itself — could bring back the theory of dark being captured by rocket and, perhaps, being in her weak state — used by victim in order to gain more power that they lacked. victim could've known about how challenging dark was to beat + how chosen and dark managed to destroy chosen's computer = a recipe to gain power to go at alan themselves.
and have finally gained enough power, whether with dark or not — they could've went for chosen, who WAS active — and difficult to beat.
finally being ready to go at alan, they went to get the only person alive that was connected to him.
i could also bring in the fact that they COULD'VE possibly tried to go at chosen for using his own powers for themselves as well — at the possibility of them being "good and powerful" in the eyes of society, being a "saviour" — capturing a well-known terrorist, moreover brainwashing citizens (a raw assumption, but perhaps even rocket) into thinking that they need to get him to get revenge on a person that murders sticks — that it is something that they were okay with doing. at the hands of their own, bitter desire for revenge.
one thing that contrasts it all, however — showdown has happened when ava4 already happened. and in case victim went to investigate their roots — it would've been impossible for them not to know about sec. but at the same time, orange used his own wit (and a small sprinkle of chosen silhouette flashing) to try and defeat noogai — and he didn't !! alan has trapped and spared him on his own !! which could've made them think it's not someone worth paying attention to, someone isn't powerful enough that they may need.
i must mention that it is possible for victim to gain the adobe tools without looking at the hollowhead's history after they were created at the time. for example, stealing the app and not opening youtube to do so, lol — but the whole existence of alan's tv makes it at the same time impossible, and at the same time — so confusing on why victim did not know about sec's powers.
im clutching my pearls . oh god this is so long
im going ins
i would APPRECIATE ALL of your input!!!
