2 series, 6 novels, 1 short story, unlimited entertainment. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.
I have two series for sale! The Corli Saga Tom Moore Android 0173 is The Corli Saga adjacent. It’s a standalone book in the Android Hunters Universe 7 Days is a great short story created from an absolutely absurd writing prompt I got from a Facebook group. Paxdei is just fun, pulp sci-fi. There’s no underlying message. Reading Paxdei brings forth memories of 1970s pulp fiction, or if you…

Nick Valentine, Synth Detective
partnering up with
Connor-51, Deviant Hunter!
I am pleased to present this little partnership idea between two tin cans I'm extremely fond of making this brought me so much joy and I hope you guys like it as well!
Some background info under the cut!~
Connor is an advanced prototype of android within the universe of Detroit: Become Human. He was designed to assist in the investigation of deviants, other androids that have "gone rogue" and stopped taking orders. He's also known as the Deviant Hunter. Though initially convinced that he is "just a machine" designed to accomplish his mission, Connor might eventually begin to warm up to his partner, and his priorities might shift unexpectedly.
Nick Valentine is a synth, or Synthetic man in Fallout 4. He is a mysterious prototype with the implanted memories of an old detective that lived over a century ago, and woke up in a heap of garbage after being dumped by his creators, the Institute. He's quick witted and snarky, and although his damaged components might make him appear intimidating at first, he is a deeply compassionate man who genuinely cares about doing the good thing, and this has earned him the trust and respect of his community.

Note
Why DOES Hunter have fangs? (In a lore perspective, if it's all artistic choice, you made a wonderful one)
In the Fusionsprunt universe, androids work very similarly to humans. They don't have blood, but they have something that connects their internal mechanisms to the main system located in their heads.
Exocannis robots like Hunter weren't made to just kill rebellious androids. They were made to terrorize them. To make one tell the difference between deactivation and death.
And so, they go for the neck.

Impromptu electric screaming analysis:
So o'er on twitter i saw an analysis of different Meursault EGO and how they could relate to his nature in particular, and as i have recently re-read Philip K. Dick's 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?', (henceforth: 'bladerunner' to save time) i thought i would add onto their analysis regarding Electric Screaming.
Foremost we must discuss three perspectives of this EGO ere-we analyse it's relation to Meursault and 'The Stranger'.
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?:
The primary theme(s) in 'Bladerunner' is akin to that of the movie inspired, is best presented in the form of a question: "What does it mean to be human?"; in the novel, we follow a bounty hunter, who is responsible for finding and hunting down humanoid androids who have escaped to earth. The method used by our primary 'hunter', named Deckard, to determine whether one is an android is called the 'The Voigt-Kampff Test', measuring minute differences in reaction time, and ones visible 'empathy' (a word which appears over 100 times in the book).
Empathy is shown throughout the entire book; the claim is made that it is a purely human trait, that:
"“An android, he said, “doesn’t care what happens to another android. That’s one of the indications we look for."" [...]
this concept of empathy is transposed by the bounty hunter(s)' lack of emotion shown towards the androids, reffering to them as "it", using the phrase "retired" rather than killed; Furthermore, there is limited empathy shown between the human's within the book: Iran and Rick(Deckard)'s marrige is shown to be distant, with Iran distaining Rick's work, viewing him as a murderer; another hunter, Philip Resch, showing no remorse to 'retiring' these androids, even after retiring his supervisor (who had turned out to be an android in himself).
Resch acts as a foil to Deckard, who, after the hunting of three androids, shows no remorse, even willing to "retire" himself should he turn out to be one; Though Deckard's attitude began as kin to that of Resch's, he begins to question himself, ruminating over the reply of one whom he had just retired:
“An android,” [Deckard] said, “doesn’t care what happens to another android. That’s one of the indications we look for." “Then,” Miss Luft said, “you must be an android.”
This change in mind is borne from both the refute posed by Miss Luft, compounded by his encounter with one 'Rachel Rosen', who, though momentarally, made Deckard question his faith in 'The Voigt-Kampff Test', that, should a person be emotionally or empathically deviant from the norm, they would be murdered by the pretense.
L'etranger:
The Stranger, novel by Albert Camus, also sold as L'etranger and The Outsider, is the novel of inspiration for Meursault, following the internal journey told in two parts, following the death of his mother, and preceeding his murder of another; and following his imprisonment and proceeding execution.
The name of the book stems from Meursault's views being abstracted from the norm - his beliefs differ in such a way that he is posed as a "Stranger" to common society. To summarise Meursault's beliefs is best said as "absurdism", that humans have no inherent meaning, or purpose.
I would like to aside a small section to clarify the difference between 'existentialism', and 'nihilism', and how they contrast the beleif in Providence. The three philosophies listed above are all intrinsicly linked in their belief of an inherently meaningless, chaotic, and fleeting universe; these three beliefs however trifurcate at their response to this belief.
Though i will assay to discuss each three apart, there is a large field of overlap in each of them, stemming from the variant nature of human beliefs, and their resistance to being defined.
The easiest to define, and the most intrinsicly linked betwixt the others is absurdism: Absurdism, discuss the absurd nature of human life, our innate urge to attempt to find meaning in a meaningless universe, the order and rationality that man attempts to maintain fighting against the chaos and irrationality of their universe; absurdism, while not claiming to understand or define reality, believing it epistemologically infeasable, states that existance within this universe is inhieriently absurd. Traditionally, one of the posed responses to an absurdist world is suicide, in the belief that, though the universe is meaningless, it is the nature of humanity to seek meaning despite knowing its futility, that obtaining true meaning is bootless — it is through this lens which absurdism differs from the belief of nihilism;
Nihilism, as prior mentioned, relates to the belief of a complete and utter meaningless in life and the universe; the sad quirks of circumstance act to both start and end all things, and that there is no point in existance. This is now a topic which i find frustrating, as when defining nihilism one must contend with the fact that nihilism does not act as one singular belief. Nihilism is... tricky. In many ways there is potential to define what a nihilist beleives, however that will almost never encompass the entirety of their philosophy: The most common trait, often acting as a throughline for the other's, is the non existance of human purpose, and lack of meaning in the universe. This is the basis of what i will refere to as 'existential nihilism' (which is the primary focus that returns forthcoming). Existenital nihilism may be accompanied by other fields: Epistemological nihilism, or the belief that knowledge is inattainable and emphemaral (closely related to the field of sceptecism); Moral nihilism, which poses that, the chaotic and fleeting nature of the universe descents an innability for definite and universal morals (somewhat linked to the belief of 'Hard Determinism'); or even Ontological nihilism, which posits the idea that nothing at all exists.
Finally, relating back to the concept mentioned agone in absurdism, of "mans search for meaning to be fruitless and futile in the meaningless universe", is 'existentialism', the acknowledgement of the universes transient, chaotic and absurd nature, alongside the idea that one should still strive to live an authentic life in which they find value or meaning in their existence; The primary difference that existentialism creates from nihilism is their treatment of the universes' lack of meaning as an adjacent concept to the meaning one finds in life.
The reason that i find these topics hard to discuss in any true depth is due to their compounded nature; it is far from impossible for a person to believe in aspects of both nihilism and existentialism, or existentialism and absurdism. Mentioned ere, existential nihilism is the belief in a lack of meaning in the universe, the belief from which all three philosophies discussed are descendant from. Without acknowledging the intrinsicly linked nature of these topics, all rooted in the common belief of nihilism, one is unable to properly realise the difference in each, and one will be less likely to properly grasp how one may have overlapping beliefs.
There are many examples that i could choose from, too many to discuss in this Meursault essay (remember when this was about him?) but the two i have selected are: Friedrich Nietzsche, and (so that i can somehow relate this back) Albert Camus.
Though commonly (and correctly) attributed a nihilist, Nietzsche did not believe in absolute (or ontological) nihilism as others may, nor did he believe in futility persuing meaning in life — Nietzsche was both and neither an existentialist and a nihilist, believing that one can and should find meaning in their life, coming to terms with their lack of inherent meaning, yet overcoming it, whilst also beleiving that that there are no inherent values or morals that one should hold. It is to be noted however that Nietzsche was a self proclaimed nihilist, yet also rejected common notions of the belief. Due to this, one might define his beliefs as separate, as 'Nietzscheist', yet one must also accept that there is a futility attempting to create labels for what a person may believe.
Camus, in comparison, denied both the label of a nihilist and of an existentialist, though he was often labelled as the latter due to the closely related nature of both absurdism and existentialism being practicalised responses to existential nihilism. Similtaneousley, one may pose several of his works as leaning closer to nihilism, though writing against nihilism in his essay 'The Rebel', such as, and most notably, the acceptance and inevitability of death present within 'The Stranger'. Meursault's final thoughts within the novel reflect how many feel detached from the universe;
“I opened myself to the gentle indifference of the world, finding it so much like myself.”
more specifically, Meursault acts as a moral nihilist, akin to Nietzsche, not understanding the supposed inherent morality or value present in human life, nor understanding those who refuse to acknowledge the inevitability of death.
2 layers of contrivance:
Dreaming Electric Sheep Encounter
the encounter and EGO gift for Dreaming Electric Sheep has been in the game for quite a while now, and Its always been one of my favourite for its existance being a reference.
in whole, this abnormality seems to relate to somewhat similar themes as the novel it references; The concept of exploiting the non-human, or androids, in order to fuel socity as in the novel is present — Desperately longing to escape, the sheep is used as a source of power having its freedom removed along with its lightning.
There is a second theme present however within the abnormaltiy observation logs (and arguably though Meursault's own EGO), that of the electricity being harmful to the sheep. Sinclair, thinking that this is the case, chooses to plug more cables into the sheep, attempting to siphon it, concluding that:
Well, there’s no way for us to know now, but… I wonder if lightning actually hurts this Abnormality. Or… maybe having its electricity taken away hurts more.
This concept is (once again, arguably) present in Meursault's EGO line:
This electricity is all I have left… I can't…!
3rd layer of contrivance:
so. what does this EGO represent on Meursault?
personally, through the relations to both The Stranger, and Electric Sheep — Books questioning the reality of humanity — there is a likely chance that this EGO is indicitave of how Meursault can be exploited or abused by others around him, perhaps not nessecarally exploited for something that he specifically provides, as is the case for the Electric Sheep itself, but rather being overworked and exploited for his time, as others know that he simply does as he is asked.
The EGO corrosion animation also supports this concept — within the animation, meursault simply falls to the ground and releases his electricity, potentally representing his being overworked.
This was SUPPOSED TO BE A SHORT ESSAY!
anyways it was inspired by a twitter thread

I've been thinking about possible hankcon AUs I've never actually seen... Just imagine
Noir Detective AU
Connor as a young, brilliant but uptight federal agent. Hank as a grizzled, burned-out detective who doesn’t want a partner.
They’re forced to work together on a case neither of them wants. Their clashing worldviews make everything harder, until the case breaks open and so does their emotional distance. Classic “enemies to reluctant partners to… maybe something else.”
Fantasy AU
Connor as a scholar, mage apprentice, or monastery scribe with rigid discipline. Hank as a fallen knight, exiled warrior, or mercenary with a drinking problem.
They’re sent on a quest together, maybe to defeat an ancient curse, guard a village, or find a missing artifact. Connor wants structure. Hank wants everyone to leave him alone. Cue arguments, slow trust, and long nights by firelight.
Dark Medieval AU
Connor as a monster hunter, emotionally detached, trained for efficiency. Hank as an herbalist, woodsman, or ex-soldier who understands people, not magic.
They travel together to stop dark creatures, cults, and political rot. Connor is quiet. Hank is blunt. Their growing bond becomes a question of who protects whom, and what makes someone human.
(it could be vice versa as well. Hank as a monster hunter, Connor as a herbalist etc. which fits them even more)
Mafia/Narcotics AU
Connor as an undercover cop working inside a crime syndicate. Hank as a disgraced former detective who knows how the system really works.
Connor is told to find dirt on Hank. But the more they interact, the more he realizes Hank isn’t corrupt, just broken. Dangerous secrets, moral gray areas, and blurred lines follow.
Academic AU
Hank as a university professor (literature, philosophy, criminology etc.) Connor as a grad student or research assistant with a spotless academic record and zero social ease.
They work on a project together, forced into the same orbit. Their connection isn’t some cliché “hot for teacher” thing, it’s two people, both isolated in different ways, learning how to connect.
Corporate Thriller AU
Connor as a cybersecurity analyst or forensic accountant. Hank as an internal investigator or ex-hacker turned security consultant (or something that just fits him more).
Together, they uncover corporate espionage or AI-related corruption. Cold efficiency meets jaded intuition. Mutual frustration turns into mutual respect.
Post-Apocalyptic AU
Connor as a medic, mechanic, or survivalist — calm and precise. Hank as a former cop, now one of the few who can keep people together.
They survive together, in a train convoy, forest outpost, or walled city. It’s not about dramatic declarations. It’s about sharing food, fixing things, and staying human in a broken world.
Historical AU (1940s–1970s)
Hank as a hardboiled PI. Connor as a government lawyer, war veteran, or journalist.
They team up on a case that exposes systemic injustice and in the process, confront their own alienation. Queer-coded, quiet, full of unsaid things and cigarette smoke.
Sci-Fi AU (but no androids)
Connor as a genetically engineered human, not artificial, but grown for perfection. Hank as military or intelligence assigned to monitor him.
Connor struggles with identity, not programming. Hank sees a person when others see an asset. Their bond builds not on rebellion, but choice and learning what “being human” really means.
And of course, they fall in love with each other in each of these AUs and live happily ever after! Or... at leas quite happily.

Rewatching some Cell in Hfil episodes, and reading my favorite Hfil fanfic, has been reigniting my old idea for writing my own Hfil mini fic, with Frost and Zamasu in it.
Only this time I have an actual plot in mind.
It's post T.O.P. - so waaaaay past when the original Hfil series would finish, meaning Frieza would be alive again, and Cell would be still be stuck down there, supposedly alone. Anyway, Frost somehow finds a way to sneak onto one of Frieza's ships to stowaway on, except little does he know bounty hunters are right on his tail and followed him there. Meanwhile, Frieza in en route to Earth after obtaining his Black Frieza form, ready to destroy Goku for good. Except....
Long story short, the ship is blown up, with Frieza and Frost on board, and it's pretty much all Frost's fault.
And where would they end up - in the Home for Infinite Losers, of course.
How would Zamasu fit in with all this? Well, he would've brought back as a result of Android Seventeen's wish, where all the universes that were just erased were brought back. That included Universe 10 and all it's residents - including Zamasu. So what does he do? He gets the hell out of his own universe before Gowasu can realize he's alive, hides in the shadows. A few months later, he's on his way to Earth to get revenge on Goku - and gets caught up in the explosion as well.
Anyway, naturally Frieza is furious with Frost, and Frost claims it's justice for knocking him out of the ring at T.O.P, so he feels no remorse. Although he is pissed for getting killed too.
In the end, Frieza and Frost would have a newfound rivalry, pulling pranks on each other, messing with each other, and overall just being nuisances. And somehow Cell gets pulled on Frieza's team, and Zamasu on Frost's team. Because what other choice do they have?
Of course as time goes by, Frieza and Frost actually start to form an unexpected bond, and grow to care about each other. Maybe even have a chance at being redeemed.
So yeah, that's my idea. I'm thinking it'd roughly be about 12 chapters long. If I really wanted to, I could drag it on for much longer - but I really don't. Besides, 12 should be more than enough.
Another idea to add after Opposites Attract is finished.

Why Connor is a Deviant Hunter Pt. 2
Summary: AO3 link. Next ->
Connor's description in the Extras gallery is as follows:
Connor is a prototype, named the RK800, created by CyberLife. Its initial goal is to assist human detectives in their investigations by offering them technological assistance. He is also equipped with a social module which is specially developed to create the "ideal partner", capable of integrating into any team
Why, then, is he a Deviant Hunter? This story is a partial attempt to answer that question, at least, in this universe.
WC: 326
Connor is in a classroom setting. He isn't typically permitted to be in such places. Only the prototype domestic and education androids are allowed inside. So that they can understand how one is meant to behave in such a setting. So they can be “comfortable” and learn to exhibit the expected behaviors.
Connor will be working with the police. And he does not belong in this setting. At least, in most situations. But this is a very special occasion, the Cyberlife technician tells him. He is joining the domestic prototypes because they are all going to watch an informational video about the dangers of an unsupervised android. The dangers of Deviancy, he's informed.
Connor watches the behavior of the androids around him and begins to imitate it. The person supervising him smiles. His job is going to be helping the police investigate cases they couldn't handle by themselves. Part of that is learning how to blend in. To be able to act like anyone he might need to. The smile is good. It means he has done a good job.
Connor quickly glances at how the androids around him are behaving in the school desks. They are sitting up straight and looking straight ahead. So most likely, the desired outcome is for him to do the same.
Connor imitates them again. And very soon after a projector screen is pulled down from the ceiling.
Connor is sitting at the very front of the classroom setting. With the very best view of what will be projected. This is because Cyberlife will have a very special question for him after the video, he is told. So he is to look and listen and pay especially close attention to what he's going to see.
After the film is over, Connor is asked the very important question. Would he like to prevent incidents like what happened to Lieutenant Hank Anderson's wife? Would he like to put a stop to Deviancy?

General Grievous is not a nice yandere. I hc that these feelings towards his darling are more suitably classified as a morbid obsession or curiosity.
The Bride of Grievous
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(A snippet from a Yandere!Grievous fic I've been dying to write)
You have no idea how feral I am over this man!! The body horror that would come with being his sweet little darling!! I'm studying Robotics and Mechatronics at university and I gotta say I LOVE Robot/cyborg characters. They are my holy grail!!😍💞😍💞😍💞😍
You're 100% right Grievous is one of the worst Yanderes. He's obsessed with turning his darling into something he finds attractive and worthy. overdosing in a morbid curiosity to see just what he can turn you into.
Listen Grievous does NOT like organic beings. He prefers cyborgs and droids to anything else. So for this to work, you're going to have to already be a cyborg to even catch Grievous' eye. Sure a talented mechanic or the heiress to a droid manufacturing company would also draw the general's eye. But there's something about your mechanical essence that draws him in. Bonus points if you're both.
Now I'm playing off the idea that the reader comes from a wealthy family of engineers who are the prime supplier of droids for the empire/separatists (idk which timeline to set this in exactly). You've been left with a few cybernetic implants after an accident that happened when you were too young to have formed a functioning memory.
There's something about you that's...not right. You build the most advanced automatons but instead of programming them to become soldiers or anything remotely beneficial to warfare. You merely treat them as family. As your children. Your dolls. Doting on them as a mother would. You blame it on your heritage. On the accident that left you tettered between machine and mortal all so many years ago.
Not quite human
Not quite robot.
Another option, a secret third.
Glitching between realities.
When Grievous makes a personal visit to your family estate. Needing to strike a new deal for a rather large shipment of androids. He's surprised to find you, the heiress, taking charge of the transaction. He's even more interested when he notices your cybernetics. And how you don't hide them but instead seem to have made many personal enhancements to them. You're pretty too, and it's been such a long time he's been with someone sentient.
He's just so interested in you. Following you around like a wolf does its prey. Listening carefully to your jovial tone as you go into great detail about all the new features of this new batch of battle droids. He's even taken aback when you reprimand him for belittling a R0-GR.
Maybe somewhere along the line, you offer to work on him. To implement some new weapons. Add a few folding missiles into his casing. Even going so far as to propose giving him a speedy digital processor to clip into his brain. He scuffs at your boldness, pushing you aside as he moves past you. What a disgusting offer.
So why does the thought linger in his head?
When he returns to base, he finds his mind wandering to you. To your bizzare existance. You've practically shredded your humanity. Yet it still clings to you like a leech. He wonders if you'd thank him for taking it from you. Swoon over him for having saved you from the pesky flesh and blood. He falls asleep dreaming of the sounds your new metallic body would make as it clangs against his.
He kidnaps you soon after that. Stealing you away in the dead of night. Your family can search all they want, and send all the bounty hunters they want to try and retrieve you. But Grievous won't let you go. He loves watching as he makes you take him apart. Nibble fingers peeling away metal layers to access his wires. Pulling off prosthetic limbs to enhance them. With you by his side, the Jedi will never be his match ever again.
But it's Grevious we're talking about. He's a greedy creature, never satisfied with what he's given. He blames Dooku for this behavior and blames the benefits of being half Sith and half machine. He's become spoiled. Maybe it's not such a bad thing.
He starts to return the favor. Tearing you apart piece by piece. He used his lightsabers to cut through bone and replace it with metal. Drugging you with ecstasy and spice as he plucks away your humanity. He adores the love-sick looks you give him. Loves how, even when you've come down from your high, you still crawl onto his lap and litter his cold body with kisses. He'll keep your face just the way it is. He loves the feel of your chubby cheeks and soft lips too much.
Soon Grievous will turn you into a creature much like himself.
His perfect little creation.
A loving robot who can think for herself (with the general's help of course)
He's finally found a lover worthy of him.
All this being said I now need a poly fic with Maul, Anakin, and Grievous with a cyborg reader.

Cheese's 100 follower special part 1
(Thank you all for following me and sticking around to see what contents I post!!! For hitting triple digits I'm doing special posts. This one is all about the cut and unused content ideas/plans for RPs.)
(For the people who wanted to be tagged: @ilovefukuchi @myluckymoon @caffeiiine )
Each unplanned idea will be in character order of when I first created them.
Levi
There's a lot with Levi when I first made him. At first there wasn't a proper backstory for him other than that he was a traumatized guy.
Levi was already arrested in his backstory before, so my whole goal with him was to get him arrested again and sent back to prison.
This would have triggered a rescue mission, or a prison escape (in my head I made Sayaka and Oscar go save him)
On the same topic of rescuing Levi, I have this old idea I played in my head where Levi was supposed to be kidnapped by this ability user that had the power to trap people in this video game. Bro Levi would have been in a little cage like Princess Peach.
If Levi was ever brought back to prison I would have created a little headspace segment for him (kinda like omori)
Ross
At first, Ross wasn't supposed to be a military captain. Instead, he was going to be some doctor to kidnap Levi back for experiments. This was changed to fit the backstory more.
Ross and Levi were supposed to have this big fight at one point.
And Ross was supposed to die by Levi finally killing him but in a bitter sweet goodbye.
Dr. Ikari
He was supposed to be the more cold doctor, but instead, he gave a more "I don't give a crap attitude."
He was going to help capture Levi, only to calm him down.
Nothing much about him other than a potential death.
Cooper
Oh boy, there is so much for Cooper.
At first, Cooper wasn't going to be brought back entirely. All because the og Cooper was dead and it would have ruined some of Levi's character development. So instead, I made this Cooper from a different universe.
At first, I was going to have him wander around and ask multiple people, "Are you my master?" But on the first one with Shibusawa, I had him settle with him for a long time.
He was almost gay or bi, but I gave him a female love interest. (Also his "love" for Shibusawa was more so a obsession than actual love.)
Big one‼️ Cooper at one point before he killed X, was going to go back to X. Either through by getting fired or just plain manipulation.
There were going to be multiple times in which he got kidnapped but those never happened.
At one point, he was going to snap, but that never happened as well.
Richard Connell
He was going to be more of an evil, bad guy with a god complex. Now he silly.
Fiona Delgado
She was created to flirt with an older version of Shibusawa. That never happened.
She was supposed to work at a normal boring job but I changed it to be the Port Mafia.
Hunter
Was going to die, never happened.
He was going to be a cool priest, but now he works for the Special Operations Division.
Dr. Paul
Was supposed to hunt down every vampire and try to kill then all.
Perhaps give him a potential love interest in which the irony of it is that the love interest is a vampire.
Felix
He was supposed to be more angry and charming, but he's just some goofy guy who yells at his rival and is actually a lot more friendly.
He was supposed to be ability-less but him having a cool sword as his ability sounded cool.
At one point, Lance (from Prime Softwares) was going to change Felix's "programming" and make him go on a murder rampage. Possibly a really intense boss fight with X.
Prime Softwares
Lance was supposed to die (he's barely alive but he's alive)
Lance and Grian were supposed to have this discussion and Lance would have threaten to deactivate Grian.
At one point, Grian would have completed a mission, but Lance would deactivate him anyways for a more new and improved model.
So Grian was almost a box of scraps for anyone to take.
The whole thing with the androids was to learn how to fuse ability user's blood into androids so androids could have said ability from the user. Basically weapons.
Because Lance wanted to take over the world with these androids.
At one point Grian was going to turn on Lance and attack Lance instead.

Note
Ermmm sorry if this is weird but do u maybe have any like, ““original”” cyberpunk prompts? I want to write something cyberpunk for an au but I just don’t have any ideas right now no matter how long I brainstorm
Exploring Cyberpunk
Cyberpunk is a very unique genre, which is why so many people are both attracted to it and stumped when attempting to develop plots within an unknown world. Think of Black Mirror created by Charlie Brooker (TV show), Blade Runner written by Philip K. Dick (a movie based on the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, a classic Cyberpunk novel), Altered Carbon by Richard K. Morgan (modern Cyberpunk novel), etc. -- each of these were incredibly influential in their own right, but they all also build their worlds gradually while having a single easy-to-explain concept that can spawn an entire universe. To be more specific, each story establishes an issue created by an advanced society ignorantly abusing technology, then allow their characters to explore that problem and try to find a solution in a manner that isn't explicitly black or white for society as a whole, but every shade of grey.
For Black Mirror, each episode anthologically builds upon a high-tech future within the same universe and explores how its characters interact with problems created by new pieces of said technology, both good and bad.
For Blade Runner, the story establishes that androids seem to be malfunctioning, but the bounty hunter charged with hunting them down discovers that the true issue lies in society's understanding of what it means to be human.
For Altered Carbon, the novel explores the issue derived from the obscene length of time it would take for humans to travel between planets stretched across the universe, then dives into more detail regarding how a solution has been abused.
How to Construct a Cyberpunk Concept
What we'd recommend is to start by asking the right questions and looking in the right places. Black Mirror takes its inspiration from a variety of technology, both new and old; Blade Runner explores the idea of AI and androids during the 80's when robotics was on the forefront of innovation; Altered Carbon took note of our increasing ability to travel in an interstellar fashion, then posed a simple question regarding the limits of humanity (specifically, time).
This may sound strange, but the best thing you can do is seek out trends online and scientific journals about new breakthroughs, then ask questions about what may go wrong. For example, an old post we featured here on AUideas that has since been removed from ~2017 because it's in the process of being developed into a script (sorry guys, our bad!) called Dreamscape Co. uses this exact method. When the prompt was made, Admin M was in the process of reading a scientific journal about how neurologists had been able to project a person's thoughts into an image. Although the technology was rudimentary at the time, Admin M posed the question "if dreams can be viewed, what if dreams can be watched in real time with a high quality image? What if they could be immersive? What would that industry look like? Who would pay how much to see a certain person's dreams?" This spun out into a sweeping cyberpunk mini-series, yet came from a simple news article.
Some Cyberpunk Inspiration
When performing a quick search, some amazing ideas seemed to jump out from technology news headlines these past couple weeks alone:
Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal (FLC) Technology Being Used in 3D Displays
Unlike holograms, this technology uses liquid crystals that exhibit spontaneous polarization, meaning their orientation can be influenced by an electric field. They're high-speed, low-power, and have innumerable applications in the future. So, what could go wrong?
How could this technology impact the medical field? Although this may not be possible, consider what could occur if FLCs were injected into human bodies and influenced by electric fields to perform different tasks and functions, such as replacing an organ, attacking cancer cells, etc. How could such a technology be abused or go wrong? How many could die with a simple pulse, like an EMP?
Real-Life Freeze Ray Technology Created for the US Airforce
This technology hasn't been developed to be used as weaponry, but instead to replace large amounts of coolant that must be used on space and air crafts to prevent the machinery from overheating (coolant is heavy and can reduce efficiency yet is absolutely necessary due to the fact that space is a vacuum and therefore does not cool heat like air would on Earth). This "freeze ray" technology utilizes plasma's strange property that seems to break the second law of thermodynamics: it chills down when touching another object before heating up, which experts have proposed is because it vaporizes the ultra-thin layer of carbon and water on an object upon contact, similar to how water evaporates off your skin when stepping out of a pool. The question must be asked: how could such technology be used for not just utilitarian means, but outside of the Airforce's intentions?
Perhaps the technology could be manipulated and over-chill an aircraft, or otherwise damage internal engineering.
Consider its potential applications here on Earth: what could benefit from being chilled with something light-weight and low-power? How could it be integrated into homes? What could be disastrously destroyed with such technology?
Breakthrough in Enhanced Geothermal Systems Technology May Completely Replace Carbon Energy Sources
Google and Fervo have successfully developed geothermal technology that has increased its efficiency and broke records by changing existing rock formations in the Earth's crust. For a natural geothermal energy system to produce electricity, it has to have the right amount of heat, fluid, and rock permeability -- these Goldilocks conditions can be difficult to find 'in the wild'. However, this new Enhanced Geothermal System (EGS) targets the most-easily found aspect (rocks with high heat) then creates the necessary permeability artificially by drilling to the intended rock formation and injecting fluid to create fractures in the rock, achieving the necessary Goldilocks conditions. Sure, this may be carbon-free energy, but what would happen if this were employed on a mass scale?
When energy is prioritized by a high-tech society over food and water, how could citizens gain access to those resources?
What long-term effects could such a system have on the Earth as a whole? Could the ground become unstable? Maybe earthquakes crumble city after city? Maybe the entire Earth's crust loses its integrity and disintegrates, pulling only a lucky few deep underground and forcing them to survive off the left over fluid injected into the Earth's crust and whatever they can find.
Closing Thoughts
As you can see from above, there's a crazy amount of inspiration that can be drawn from current technology events. What's important to remember is that yes, we've been talking about complicated technology, but only you have to understand how it functions in your universe down to the molecule, not your audience. Deep technology topics can be dry to a certain extent, and over-explaining your world can be damaging to your story. Explanations regarding how technology works in each of the stories we discussed is limited for that same reason (Black Mirror's overarching concepts, specifics about how Blade Runner's Replicant technology are rarely discussed, etc.). Leave some mystery surrounding how your cyberpunk world functions and allow how your characters room to breathe and interact with that world -- it can speak for itself. Your audience may first love the idea behind your story, but what they'll remember and relate to is how your protagonists and antagonists suffer and prevail within your universe.
We hope this answered your question, and feel free to follow up if you'd like some more guidance and advice on how to construct your Cyberpunk story! In addition, feel free to check out our other post which outlines more information on how to build a Cyberpunk world.
Now get to writing, and have an awesome week!

“Despair like that, about total reality, is self-perpetuating."
The silence of the world could not rein back its greed. Not any longer. Not when it had virtually won.
Empathy, evidently, existed only within the human community, whereas intelligence to some degree could be found throughout every phylum and order including the arachnida. For one thing, the empathic faculty probably required an unimpaired group instinct; a solitary organism, such as a spider, would have no use for it; in fact it would tend to abort a spider's ability to survive. It would make him conscious of the desire to live on the part of his prey.
Because, ultimately, the empathic gift blurred the boundaries between hunter and victim, between the successful and the defeated.
He thought, too, about his need for a real animal; within him an actual hatred once more manifested itself toward his electric sheep, which he had to tend, had to care about, as if it lived. The tyranny of an object, he thought. It doesn't know I exist. Like the androids, it had no ability to appreciate the existence of another.
Empathy toward an artificial construct? he asked himself. Something that only pretends to be alive?
“But when you get that depressed you don't care. Apathy, because you've lost a sense of worth. It doesn't matter whether you feel better, because if you have no worth—"
The old man said, "You will be required to do wrong no matter where you go. It is the basic condition of life, to be required to violate your own identity. At some time, every creature which lives must do so. It is the ultimate shadow, the defeat of creation; this is the curse at work, the curse that feeds on all life. Everywhere in the universe.”

Story-time!
Master Post of my story links:
Ad Astra, Per Aspera:
A retelling of Murder Drones with a bunch of in between episodes stuff. Goes from Pre-Core Collapse Cabin Fever Labs (with Nori and Yeva) to decades post canon. TW: racism and self harm are heavy topics especially in the future au.
iNtersubJeCtiVe requital:
A "evil manor" crew story. A "what if the manor crew and Tessa willingly decided to destroy humanity?". Solver is patched, the DDs were created by Cyn as a response to the death of Tessa. All four of them go on a genocidal rage crusade to avenge her while Cyn works to resurrect their beloved Tessa...it works but not as intended (Aka, we get our ep7/8 Tessa look but it's actually Tessa). TW: Heavy gore and body horror in later chapters. Rating may go up.
Cross the Jaded Stars:
Swap AU with J as the Doorman kid. A darker, more gritty Copper-9 and Outpost 3. It...follows Canon events a bit closer than Ad Astra does though there are some creative differences (location changes, situations mostly stay the same). For example, no Camp Massacre...instead it's a Massacre in a Bunker Raid. TW: Gore, Body Horror and emotional abuse.
Living Life on Hardcore:
Human Streamer AU based off of by chance by Spero11. Doesn't focus on Uzi and N though and it's not in the same world as by chance. This focuses on Nori and Khan with Nori discovering herself during college and deciding to become a streamer. TW: Classism and mental/emotional abuse.
Carry On Wayward Sons:
Supernatural (not the show) Human AU and part of the Something Strange in Coppersville AU started up by my awesome friends in The Archives. Hunters Khan and Luke Doorman inherited a home in Coppersville...where not everything is as it seems. Features Vampire!Nori and well...we ain't sure what exactly Alice is (we used heavy inspiration from Liam's wendigo design mixed with Moder from the Ritual on Netflix). TW: Some gore, some racism.
Life is a Song, Love is the Music (aka Lifesong):
Idol "human" AU. Drones are Androids. Manor quartet are musicians, the Bunker Kids are Androids trying to work in a world where the droids are 4th class citizens. We've described this as "IR but less murder". Guitarist N, Drummer V, Bassist/Keyboardist J, Violinist/Singer Cyn, Manager/Stage Tech Tessa. Uzi sneaks into a concert, runs into N backstage...and...realizing that the human guitarist she's looked up to...isn't human at all. In fact, none of the members of the band Absolutely Solved are. Singer/Fan relationships, double life stuff too. TW: Racism, abuse (physical, mental AND emotional...), SA is mentioned and treated with care and respect for its victims.
Of Nightshade and Woodsmoke:
A Challenge from Inspired Dragon Writer. Fantasy AU where Uzi gets unwillingly chosen to be a courtesan-companion to a lonely young princess Tessa. She ends up...being apprenticed to a very very surly and cranky Master Apothecary and may or may not find love in this entire thing. Heavy influences from The Apothecary Diaries and The Ranger's Apprentice.
Would You Fall In Love With Me Again?
A more canon compliant story, follows the "Uzi is alone and creating holograms to cope" theory. An Accident killed everyone post canon and Uzi's coping and trying to not lose her mind from the loneliness. After some prodding and goading by Cyn, she ends up deciding to leave her world by hopping into an alternate universe...one where, unknown to her, she died in the final fight against the Solver four years ago. She and the N of this world start to build a relationship and it starts to become romantic as they heal from the traumas of their pasts. But it raises a couple questions... "Do I love you or do I love the idea of you? Do I love you as this person before me...or do I love you that I lost?" There's some body horror in this one due to Eldritch Goddess Uzi things.
