He worked in silence, slightly hunched in his seat, the scattered light from the above chandelier casting sharp shadows over his angular face. Wisps of jet-black hair framed his temples as he hung his head in focus, his breathing turning steady. Toji looked so normal, like he wasn't some sex therapist or some important corporate executive or an heir to a multi-billion fortune.

In this one, singular moment, Toji was just...Toji.

"Why are you doing this?" you asked suddenly.

"Doing what?" Mistakenly, he assumed you referred to how he sought another napkin, this time to wipe at the trickle that ran like white lava down your thighs. “We made a mess."

"No, not that. Why did you become my therapist?" Of course, you did not forget your first encounter with Dr. Fushiguro, particularly how Toji ripped your new patient form to literal shreds the moment he noticed your last name. “You could've kicked me out of your office that day and left me miserable, but you didn't. Why?"

He slowed in his motions and his hot breath skimmed over your upper lip.

Then, he smiled faintly. "Can I abstain?"

This was his hint that the answer wouldn’t be something you liked.

"No." You still wanted to know. "Tell me, please."

Despite your reassurance, he seemed reluctant, his jaw working as he trapped his tongue piercing between his teeth.

"Because you were too…innocent," Toji eventually admitted. He sounded earnest, but he gave you a cautious glance like he wanted to gauge your reaction. "A pretty lady coming to see Toji Fushiguro because his little cousin Naoya Zenin couldn't please you properly? Clearly, you've never had a proper fuck. I wanted to completely ruin you, baby. I wanted to use you. And, shit, that pussy made me want to keep you for myself forever. Sure, I also had a two-timing ex, but who cares about my little cousin's mistress when I had his wife in front of me?"

Even though you braced for a brutally honest response, hearing his words firsthand stung.

Yes, you were naïve back then. However, to hear your closest confidant admit his initial, manipulative motives jabbed at your sensitive heart.

From your husband to your therapist, you were constantly a pawn on another person's chessboard. Yet, the worst part was that you didn't notice the game until much later.

"I am sorry," Toji started again. Perceptive as usual, he noticed how your mood suddenly soured. "I had all these shitty intentions because Naoya fucked me over, so I wanted to take my anger out on you. But, when I realized that you’re just an oblivious puppet in his play, I wanted him to realize that he was mistreating you, and," one long exhale, "most importantly, I truly did want to help you."

Mulling over his words carefully, you sank your face into his shoulder. "Are you just saying that to make me feel better?"

“No, I am being honest," and the dark green in his eyes reflected that. "I didn't expect to ever see you again after our first session. Thought you got scared off for good until you called me to book another appointment. Honestly, at that point, people suspected you to be Naoya’s lap-bitch and spy. Hope that explains the shitty attitudes from the other therapists and my son." Toji flicked the dirty tissue into the wastebasket. "I defended you, though, if that means anything. I thought you were nice and entertaining and, as I've pointed out numerous times, that you deserved better. What I didn't think was how I would end up bringing you into," and he motioned around with his head, "all of this.”

Breathing in slowly, you took in the man's heavy bergamot scent and allowed his warmth to anchor you.

“So, how do you plan to use me now?”

Among your incessant inquiries, this question must be the most pointed.

Toji, realizing this, gazed ahead. Momentarily, you wondered where his thoughts had wandered off to this time, his focus on the ceiling sharpening for a moment before he reverted his attention back.

"There is no plan to ‘use’ you, sweetheart. Because you mean a lot to me," he still responded with great conviction. "You are cherished."

Beneath the rough edges in his features laid a softness—a softness that you started to become familiar with—as he brought his hands to your hip.

“Live a happy life without Naoya," he added eventually. "You don't need me and the other therapists anymore. Only brokenhearted and anguished people are our clients, so forgetting about us should be easy."

Was it wrong to feel even more hurt when you heard that?

Literally one moment ago, Toji was telling you how much you meant to him. Now, he was telling you to go?

"Client or not, I thought we were friends. You even told me once that I'm somebody special."

“You are," he responded matter-of-factly. "You are very special. Which is why I am not going to force you to hang around or anything. That way you don’t think anyone is ‘using’ you. You're young and capable, and I want you to live your life as you wish.” Then, his voice became uncharacteristically soft. “Because I care about you.”

As nonchalant as he tried to come off, Toji also sounded so...broken.

Plenty of people—plenty of women—came in and out of Toji's life. Megumi had said so himself, admitting that his father used to 'sleep around a bunch' after his biological mother passed.

Since then, Toji had probably gotten used to how the women he encountered only wanted him for his name, his wallet, or—yes, to put things bluntly—his dick. Tsumiki's mom would be the best and most recent example.

But, you wanted to heal Toji as much as Toji had healed you.

"There's something Megumi told me the first time I stayed over at your apartment," you began suddenly.

Toji arched a brow, the tendons by his neck taut. "Is that so?" Knowing his angsty son, he sounded curious but moreso concerned. "Like what?"

'Are you going to marry my dad?'

No, you would die from embarrassment before you could admit that.

"Megumi told me about what happened to his mom, your first wife."

"Ah." Beneath you, Toji tensed up. His tongue darted over his scar like he wanted to continue, but no words came out.

So, he stopped and waited for you to continue.

"I...am really sorry to hear about what happened to her."

In the end, Toji tilted his head, a small but obviously sad smile playing on his lips.

"That's years ago." He tried to sound like losing his first wife in a freak accident didn't haunt him anymore, but you knew that the catastrophe still did.

"Well, Megumi also told me about what your relationships with other women were like since then," you resumed. "Particularly about your second wife."

This time, you truly stumped him. "I see."

"Unlike her, I am not going anywhere," you asserted and tightened your hold around him. "No one is forcing that decision upon me, either. Since you want me to 'live my life as I wish,' my wish is for us to be friends for a long time...and for the same reasons friends want to be friends."

"Is that genuinely what you want?"

"Yes. Truly."

Whether due to your common backgrounds in the Japanese aristocracy or the juxtaposition he offered to your ex-husband, Toji had become your haven. He grounded you after your emotional tumbles and uplifted you with compliments and praise—like an anchor, an unyielding outlet with whom you could share your pains and transform your frustrations into something lesser.

“You care a lot about others but forget to think about yourself,” you went on, criticizing him in a light tone. There was also a question that you had been meaning to ask. “Like, why did you agree to take on the CEO position again after experiencing the Zenin family and your past?”

His fingers flexed slightly into your skin.

“My decision is not about the people who wronged me, but rather the people who depend on me,” he clarified after a beat, his voice lowered like he confided in himself as much as in you. “I look at Mai and Maki, who’ve been treated like garbage their entire lives. I think about Megumi and Tsumiki, who deserve a world with the best opportunities. For them and for others, I want to create a future with something better. ”

For the therapists, taking on renewed roles within the Zenin Corporation would be concerning given that they have previously faced accusations of neglecting the business in favor of their own pursuits.

“What will happen to sex therapy?”

Naoya Zenin returned to his apartment lobby tossed (yes, tossed) following a blindfolded car ride home.

To some degree, he wished he hadn’t come back at all since—after retrieving his phone and searching the Internet—he discovered a new reality where media spokespeople, online netizens, and business leaders welcomed his cousin’s return to leadership while denouncing his own.

It was like the universe had been waiting to have Naoya reckon with his misconducts all at once, for he never fully understood the consequences of his sins until his face appeared over news websites, tabloid front pages, and social media feeds.

Even when he had business to attend to the following day, he could hardly push past his apartment entrance without being swarmed by meddlers who somehow had gotten intel on his address. Naturally, many people wanted to hear directly from the businessman who had fallen from grace, especially when the company he once led was one of the largest market players in the Asia-Pacific region. First came the paparazzi, the blinding white flashes from their cameras all seeking to capture his face. Then came the other onlookers, jeering with many insults his way.

‘A scumbag is what you are. A disgusting cheater!’ ‘You don't even deserve a penny of your net worth!” ‘Your company, colleagues, and family deserved better!’ 'Someone like Toji Fushiguro!'

The moment Naoya reached the backseat of his sedan, he smashed his phone in one savage blow, startling the chauffeur as the gadget's screen shattered. Didn’t matter. He had the money to replace that by noon anyway.

Meanwhile, with white-gloved hands on the wheel, the driver tried to hide his tremor.

"A-Are you o—"

"To the corporate headquarters," Naoya ordered. "Put your fucking foot on the pedal or the next thing I'll be blowing up is you."

"Yes."

Well, that shut him up.

Thanks to that, Naoya arrived at the Zenin Corporation headquarters in record-breaking time, but he encountered yet another human barrage. People shouted over one another, some even pushing microphones toward his face, as the crowd followed him like a gaggle of geese while he walked into the lobby.

He frowned when his ID badge failed at the security turnstiles, his access removed from the building's security system already. Just two days ago, he held hours-long meetings in the offices above. Now, two days later, he had been deemed an outsider without access to even the company café on the first floor.

He kicked the turnstile (as if that would change anything), and a steely voice interrupted his anger.

"Naoya Zenin, sir," a woman in a security uniform began, "you are no longer with the corporation and are causing a disturbance. Please, leave."

The blonde snapped his badge back into his palm before tucking both hands into the front pockets of his pressed pants. He sauntered forward slowly, making sure that the woman noticed the difference in their height. "No, I won't. I have an appointment."

"Please," she barged in again, unintimidated by his taller frame. Her voice this time was more stern as she glanced over at the nearby swarm. "You're creating a commotion on private property.”

Did he look like he cared? "My family's private property."

"Sir, I—"

"He’s with me." With a third voice joining the conversation, both turned around as no one other than Toji Fushiguro himself walked over. "I invited him for a private meeting. Allow me to escort him."

The antagonism that the security woman had with Naoya vanished completely as she apologized profusely to the older man, and the blonde found her switch in character fucking deplorable and insulting.

After a brief exchange, Toji looked over. “Thank you for arriving on time. I was worried you missed my text since I sent the message very early in the morning. Let me bring you upstairs.”

Despite receiving a smile, Naoya didn’t like the belittling and patronizing tone that made him feel like a child who needed a chaperone or a beggar who needed a savior.

Nonetheless, he followed in tense silence.

When he walked into the designated conference room, Naoya tried to not look surprised to also see his father and your father in the same vicinity as well (although, given that they were the Board Director and the Chief Operating Officer, respectively, that should’ve been expected).

He had to look away from their cold gazes and instead took the seat closest to the door. “Why do you want to talk to me?”

Toji, on the other hand, settled at the head of the table and crossed one leg over his knee. “This meeting is a courtesy​​. One you don’t deserve but here we are. We’ll be brief.” He leaned across the table, sliding over a sleek black folder. “Later today, the Zenin Corporation will hold a press conference to address our organizational and management changes. In this binder are terms for your settlement. We would like you to accept the proposal, leave, and never associate yourself with the Zenin name again.”

When Naoya saw the documents inside, he wanted to laugh right then and there. “This is a shitty offer that practically gives me nothing.”

What else did you expect? Toji’s unwavering expression seemed to say.

He even opened his mouth to speak, but a much coarser voice spoke first.

"Because you did that to yourself,” Naobito explained. “As of now, your actions have stripped you of everything and you’re still scoffing at someone else’s generosity? You’re a selfish manipulator who has jeopardized our stakeholders’ trust. Our family name will not tolerate your presence moving forward!"

"Listen, Father—"

"Mr. Zenin to you!"

Naoya could not believe he was related to the much older man in front of him. Except for their common features, the duo shared absolutely nothing including warmth for each other.

Which, to the blonde, was ridiculous. Because how could his parent not view the situation from his lens? No one understood the struggles that tormented him since his childhood and the reasons his anguish turned into greed.

"This isn’t fair.” Naoya’s voice rose, trembling with barely contained anger as he shoved the folder away. “I can’t understand you, Fa—Mr. Zenin. Why? Why does everything that Toji touches turn to gold in your eyes? The world welcomes him back like he’s a prodigy, and you hand him everything on a silver platter. But then, why can’t you defend your one and only son in a situation like this? Anything…anything I do, to you, is not enough.”

With his chest heaving, Naoya had to pause and catch his breath. He didn’t want to admit that he was on the verge of another outburst, only to be met with no sympathy in return.

"You and Toji have never been in the same position. Not now, not before, and not ever.” As the Chairman made himself clear, his voice cut through his son’s rant like a blade. “While no one is perfect, Toji—in the past and present—earns respect by owning his failures and proving his worth. Due to his team’s work in the last twenty-four hours, he stabilized the company, helping us avoid an immense drop in our market value and cancellations from our business partners.” In addition to his utter disregard for his son’s feelings, Naobito even mocked him with a scoff. “Meanwhile, you don’t play by the rules, boy. You exploit them to suit your needs, and when something backfires, you blame everyone but yourself. Toji didn’t come back because I handed him anything. He came back because he knows how to make amends.”

Stop.

Naoya wanted this mental torture to come to a fucking stop.

His father’s scorn was bad enough, but the comparison to Toji—always Toji—was like salt ground into an open wound. What made the situation a hundred times more humiliating was how his older cousin sat across the table with a nearly indiscernible smirk on his face.

Yet, what could he realistically do when the Chairman went on?

“In my entire life, I only requested from you one thing,” Naobito added. ‘Power and money did not interest him when compared to his daughter, so the one promise I made is that you would love her.’ “And what did you do?”

Precisely not that.

The pointed change in topic made Daisuke L/N sit forward uncomfortably.

"Be honest with us, Naoya," he said. "Aside from marrying my daughter to legitimize your position in your family and company, what other intentions did you have?"

The man stared ahead with a solemn expression because, in that moment, he wasn’t the Zenin Corporation’s Chief Operating Officer but merely a father.

A father who had been promised a dependable and loving son-in-law, not a cruel and ruthless deceiver.

Naoya shrugged.

"My original plan was to have your daughter for as long as I deemed her useful. Maybe until my old man kicked the bucket and I became the head of the Zenin household? Or, if I liked her enough, maybe longer? I don't know, not that I really cared." Naoya didn't give a shit that he sounded like a total sociopath. As a grown man, he could make his choices in speech. "But, what I did care about is how people only noticed me when I had that…that—"

At that, Toji had to cut him off. “You’ve said enough. We’re done here.”

“I’m not finished.”

“Yes, you are. As I mentioned earlier, this meeting is only a courtesy.”

Toji rose from his seat and adjusted his blazer, the other executives doing the same but with pursed frowns. When the Chairman and the COO left quickly in silent rage, Toji followed them and gestured toward the black folder again on his way out.

"Anyway, all the legal documents are in there. Can read through them, if you care. You have the next hour to inform my secretary of your decision. My advice is to accept our offer since no legitimate company in the Asia-Pacific—or anywhere else in the world—will want you now. You ensured that for yourself."

Toji walked to the exit in precise and confident strides, but just before disappearing into the halls, he paused.

"Oh, but one last request.” Except what he said next wasn’t a request, but a demand. “Never show yourself to us or anyone we care about again. Take this as a warning."

Then, the door clicked shut.

Breathe in. Breathe out.

Naoya stood up.

“God fucking damnnit!” he hollered at the top of his lungs like a mad maniac. His hand shot out, sweeping the papers off the table violently, sending them scattering across the floor.

He hissed and seethed. How he hated this feeling. His current ordeal had been his wake-up call to realize that merely being born into status didn't mean he would be invincible.

If only he hadn’t let his unchecked arrogance blind him, then his life trajectory would have played out differently!

…Or maybe nothing would’ve changed at all.

Because perhaps, all these years, Naoya Zenin had been trying to grasp onto something that was never meant to be his.

Steve wasn’t sure what he was expecting when he walked into Eddie’s mansion. Both bands were meeting with their shiny new agent, Vickie Cameron. But whatever it wasn’t the woman sitting on Eddie’s big, black leather couch.

She had a stylish, curly, red bob that framed her angular face. Her bright green eyes were knowing and mischievous. Her clothes veered toward Bohemian in darker shades. Her smile was calm and welcoming.

Steve could feel the tension bleed out his shoulders as he sat down between Simon and Spence.

“You must be Abbadon,” she greeted warmly. “I’m Vickie Cameron, I understand that I called in the nick of time?”

Eddie who had come in behind him, smiled at her. “That’s right. She kept trying to shift blame on Abby here. Bob was awesome, though!”

Vickie looked to Chrissy and Robin in askance.

“The Fallen’s producer,” Robin explained. “He was there to prevent liability.”

Vickie nodded and then clasped her hands together. “I understand that not all of Corroded Coffin is here today?”

Jeff shook his head. “Gareth Hughes is currently in a ninety day program.”

“Eddie had to get special permission to talk to him about changing agents in the first place,” Brian explained. “It’s in our contract that all of us have to sign off on major changes.” He glanced sideways at Eddie and then Jeff before hanging his head.

Eddie sat down on the floor next to Shane, crossing his legs like the bassist. “But he was onboard one hundred percent.”

“That’s good,” she said with a smile. “I’m assuming it was that lovely little clause that prevented him from being replaced on tour?”

Steve looked around at the Corroded Coffin members as tension filled the air. Jeff and Eddie were radiating anger while Brian seemed to shrink in shame.

“I didn’t think it was fair that he would get replaced like he didn’t mean anything to us,” Brian hotly defended.

Jeff’s lip curled. “Dude, Gareth voted for us replacing him! He knew had made a promise and broke it. If we don’t punish him somehow, someway, he’s going to keep doing it!”

Brian’s chin began to wobble and he let out a shuddered breath. “I know. It was stupid. But it’s too late now. Let’s just focus on what we’re here for. Please!”

Steve shared looks with his band before they all agreed to just move on. But Steve made sure to make a mental note to talk to Eddie about it, because it was clear Eddie was really upset by the move even after a few weeks.

“Since you’re planning on touring together,” Vickie said, sitting up straight, “that makes the contacting for venues easy. Getting suites for two big bands might prove a little tricky at the moment as I don’t have the clout yet.”

“That’s fine,” Shane said from his perch on the floor. “We like to bunk all together if we can. It makes harder for people to try and pap us if there’s almost always someone there in the room.”

“That makes sense,” she agreed. “Will Jim Hopper be coming with you to function as your head of security?”

Robin nodded. “He’ll be the only one with knowledge of their real identities. His daughter will also be joining us as costumes director, but she has only dealt with their alter egos.”

Vickie nodded back. “That’s perfect. I’ll be just handling contracts and the legal eagle side of things, which is the main reason I need to know their real identities so no one can forge anything claiming to be a member of the band.”

Everyone nodded or murmured their agreements.

She looked at Eddie. “I know this your home, but would it be all right if I spoke to The Fallen alone?”

Eddie nodded and hopped to his feet. “Come on, Jeffy and Bri-Bri, let’s go raid my liquor cabinet.”

The other two men were to their feet in seconds and followed their lead singer out the door like ducklings in a row.

Vickie smiled after them. “They’re going to be fun. I can tell.” She turned back to The Fallen members. “Do you feel safe enough to remove your masks so that I can meet you properly?”

Steve and the other members looked around at each other before Shane took off his mask first. Then Steve and Spence together. Simon was the only that remained with his mask still on. Steve leaned over and whispered in his ear and rubbed his back encouragingly. After a moment or two Simon removed his mask too.

“It’s hard trusting someone new,” Vickie said with a reassuring smile. “Especially after harrowing experience that Abbadon went through earlier today. Giving that much power to any ex is hard, but if half of what Celeste says is true, she’s the last person in your lives that should have any kind of access to your secrets. So no judgments, okay? If you don’t feel comfortable being unmasked around me, that’s fine. I hope I’ll earn your trust in the future.”

Immediately Simon put his back on. Spence and Shane shared a glance before Spence put his back on, too. Only Shane and Steve left theirs off.

Vickie didn’t comment, only nodded her approval. “I had somethings to go over with you all so we can all get on the same page.”

“Why aren’t you calling us by our real names?” Simon asked, leaning into Steve’s side.

“Are any of the Corroded Coffin boys in on the secret?” Vickie asked, leaning forwards on her knees and clasping her hands together.

They all shared concerned glances, before Robin spoke up.

“Eddie is,” she said carefully, her shoulders squared against the tension in the room. “He guessed though, he wasn’t told.”

“But Jeff Laurence and Brian Martin aren’t read in?” Vickie pressed.

They all shook their heads.

“Then that would be why I’m not calling you by your real names,” she said clearly, sitting up straight. “There is a chance they might overhear a name or two and put it together who you are.”

Steve let out a shuddering breath and his lip quivered. “Nancy–she almost called me by my real name right in front of our producer. She almost outed me without a single thought or care. I–I’d never been more frightened in my life when she nearly slipped up. She had been so mad at me and I just wanted to get out of there, but I forced myself to stay there and listen to her.”

Vickie stood up and knelt in front of him, taking one of his hands as his friends offered their verbal support.

“I hate how much power she had in that conversation,” she murmured. “Agents like managers and PR firms are tools to help you navigate a job which constantly changing. That goes for actors, artists, athletes, comedians, and musicians of all walks of life. They should be supporting you, not making you miserable.”

She stood up. “And that goes for everyone, Corroded Coffin included. This is meant to be a partnership and it’s my job to sure it all goes as smoothly as possible.”

Simon removed his mask and looked her in the eye. “If you’ve got Abbadon’s back, you’ve got my vote of confidence.”

Everyone but Vickie turned to him, impressed. Simon was their Cowardly Lion. He was afraid of his own shadow outside of their personas on stage. It was only under the bright lights of the stage and behind his red mask that he truly came alive.

This was a big deal for Simon and his bandmates and Robin were proud as hell for him.

“So what did you need to go over with us?” Shane asked from his perch on the floor.

Vickie cracked her knuckles with a grin. “What I understand is that because your personal and professional lives are separate you need a little help fend off the trolls and influencers, is that right?”

“Aren’t they one and the same?” Spence asked with a snort. His mask was still on despite Simon’s bravery, he wasn’t ready to take that step yet.

“Only in the way that jackals and coyotes are both dogs I guess,” Vickie replied. “They act similar but have different motives for why they’re doing it. But I’m here to handle that.”

“I’m sorry to make you take on PR duties as well,” Robin said ringing her hands together. “But the more people who know the worse it’s going to be to keep a lid on everything.”

Vickie shook her head. “This is a good thing. Because I don’t have a lot of clients to juggle, I can do the PR for you guys. Simpler is always best.” She looked around the room. “I also understand that one of you is in a high profile relationship?”

Steve raised his hand. “Ish. Eddie and Steve are dating but it’s not public and with Eddie’s past history of sleeping with anything that moved, he can’t be seen with a roadie or the tabloids will explode.”

Vickie tapped her lip thoughtfully. “That is a conundrum to be sure. I’ll put together some plans and meet with Eddie and ‘Steve’ later in the week.” She put air quotes around his name. “Now, here are the other things we need to go over.”

Talk turned to the other things on her agenda and by the time it was over with all four members of the band were maskless, and eager to take her on.

Vickie, Robin, Chrissy were all sitting in Vickie’s office, popping the cork of a bottle of champagne to share between them. Chrissy poured the bubbling liquid into the three glasses and handed one to each of Robin and Vickie.

“Here’s to the three baddest bitches!” Robin said, raising her glass.

“Hell yeah!” Vickie crowed.

“Damn right!” Chrissy said, as they all clinked their glasses together.

They all drank and Vickie smirked around her glass. “So the industry is abuzz with news about Nancy Wheeler and Corroded Coffin pulling out of her firm.”

Robin and Chrissy leaned in close, clutching their glasses of champagne.

“Ooh,” Chrissy cooed. “Do tell.”

Vickie took another drink of her champagne and let them sit in it for a moment. “Apparently word is out that Corroded Coffin had vouched for her to The Fallen and when she was rude and dismissive of their unique requirements, Corroded Coffin decided that she wasn’t for them. And now huge acts are pulling out too in solidarity to The Fallen.”

Chrissy winced, but Robin nodded sagely.

“She sounded so sincere when I spoke to her,” she said, shaking her head sadly, “but my boys picked up on her hostility right away. All she had to do was put the past behind her, the way Abbadon seemed to, but she let her prejudices blind her and it led her to this.”

Vickie pursed her lips together. “I can see how some heavy hitters might like the bulldog approach that she took to her work, but not everyone has that tough of a skin. And while some part of me feels sorry for her, she absolutely dug her own grave.”

“Eddie was telling me some of the things she said to Abbadon,” Chrissy said, twisting the glass her hands. “It sounded like to me that she wanted him to absolve her of all her wrong doing without owning up to it in any way.”

Robin nodded. “That’s what Bob said, too. There was no apology and it didn’t sound like she ever intended to give one. So cheers to Vickie Carmichael, who sent the dragon running back to her lair!”

“Cheers!” Chrissy agreed to Vickie’s flush of pride.

“Thank you, ladies,” she said demurely. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with your boys. They all seem like good people. And yes that includes Gareth. I was able to meet with him without the other boys around and while he has some real problems to deal with, he’s a good person at heart who was led away by the high alcohol promised him.”

Chrissy nodded. “I wish Brian had let Gareth heal while they went on tour. I think it would have shaken something loose to see his friends perform without him.”

“To new beginnings!” Robin said, raising her glass.

“To new partnerships!” Vickie agreed, raising her own glass.

“To friends old and new!” Chrissy said.

They clanked glasses and drank deeply to their new future.

Models Who Are Not Naturals (Kibbe)

We know that the modelling industry is dominated by FNs/Flamboyant Naturals since clothes are made for a rectangular frame and not customized to the curves and contours of a specific body. Models who are frame dominant are preferred because they can advertise the clothes as they are instead of having it tailored to fit them.But all of that aside, I thought it'll be interesting to find models who do not have a typical FN build.

Keep in mind that almost all the women mentioned below are over 5'7 and with Kibbe's height restrictions in mind, at that height, only a few IDs are possible (SD, D, FN). Since this is a post about models who aren't FN, this list will largely feature Ds & SDs.

For context, this is a typical FN build. Cindy Crawford is a verified FN. She has broad shoulders, a square torso and an overall athletic build. FNs are likely to have an inverted triangle like frame.

Adriana Lima, Dramatic

She's 178cm and thus has automatic vertical. Her overall body is very sharp and angular, she does not have an athletic build or physique. She's just long and sharp?? if that makes sense

2. Stephanie Seymour, SD

90s Victoria Secret models were often SDs, voluptuous and curvy and Stephanie is a great example of it. Its only in the 2000s & since that FNs began to dominate the modelling industry.

She has double curve and has a fleshy, curvy physique.

3. Miranda Kerr, Dramatic

Her physique is so similar to Adriana's. Very long torso's, sharp limbs and angular

4. Laetitia Casta- SD

Her bustline and hips are curved which is what is meant by double curve. So she looks softer and rounder. Her yang comes from her height

It can't just be me right? Shuri definitely looks different in Johannes' POV right?

Season 2 Epilogue spoilers below!

So far, I've collected all the flashbacks of Shuri during her time in Bretten and she always keeps that consistent doe eyed, rounded cheek, childlike look. But in the latest chapter, Johannes sees her as this bright and spunky girl, with a determined gaze, confident smile, and a noticeably more angular face with (more) pronounced features.

While it's obvious that he's literally deluding himself to see Ludovika in her personality and face.. there's another point here...

ORKA has clear dedicated herself to keeping the consistency of every characters' age from each timeline given the nature of the manhwa and all its flashbacks.

Shuri looking older in the latest chapter isn't just a design flub. It's Johannes, who is literally twisting his own narrative to justify marrying a 14 year old girl by seeing her older than who she really is.

It's like when p3d0s say "it wasn't my fault! Look at her! She looks full grown, how was I supposed to know!" and you look at said "woman" and it's a whole ass 13 year old girl with braces.

He literally knows he's wrong for wanting her! He says that people will question him, reject her position, and that marrying her would literally tarnish his entire reputation. The world is screaming at him that what he's doing is wrong and still! He is so far off into the deep end that he is making shit up! He's filming his own movie and I don't recognize any of the actors!

1. Why do you like or dislike this character? He's just so awesome. He's cool. He's a dragon. He's so interesting to me as a character with his dynamics with other people, how much he cares but also how much if his protection of other people is fueled by the lack of care for himself.

2. Favorite canon thing about this character? I really like one of his animations when someone talks him up where he does the little. fixing his collar thing. It's cute to me. Maybe not my favourite thing but idk if I have a favourite thing just a buncha stuff..........

3. Least favorite canon thing about this character? i dont knowwwwwww i think i'll probably end up with story thoughts when i play through more of the games but like. what i know abt Just Him? i dont really have anything i strongly dislike

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in? Apex Legends so he can be a freak with the infinite respawn stuff /j I waunt to put him in a calm setting where he can relax without being put into massive life or death scenarios for a little while. Let him work through some stuff.

In person I'm not really that talkative unless the other person really wants to talk, like I don't tend to walk up to people n just start convos unless we're having dedicated hangout time, so I think I'd vibe with him pretty well bc we can do our own thing in the same space or leave each other alone. We'll look at Cerie and Uileac, because of course we will.

1. Who looks the most like Dad?

Cerie, actually. Papa Seorus had a rougher look about him.

2. Who looks the most like mom?

Uileac. Mama Caoimhe was a very slender, foxish woman, and Uileac has her angular bony figure.

3. Who eats the most?

Uileac lol. I mean, it makes sense; he spends most of his day riding and training, so of course he's going to need more fuel than lazy-ass Cerie.

4. Who has been in the weirdest situations?

Cerie to be sure. Later on in The Eirenic Verses she is kidnapped by their country's mortal enemy, Sina, and forced to help them. Uileac's shenanigans cannot compare.

5. Who sleeps the most?

Cerie. She's such a useless lesbian. Uileac is up at the crack of dawn, a very Type A person, whereas Cerie would nap all day if you let her.

7. Most stable romantic life?

Uileac. He's been with his partner Orrinir since they were 18, whereas Cerie just kinda ... gets around a lot in her teens/early adulthood. Not to the extent where Uileac will have to chastise her, but some flings here and there.

8. Worst habit of each one?

Cerie: Acting like a martyr and thinking she has to do everything by herself, even though Uileac and her brother-in-law Orrinir would always help her if she needed it. Uileac: Stubbornness and pride. He can't handle any damage to his reputation.

9. Who's the most dramatic?

Neither of them are very dramatic in general, but I'd have to say Cerie. She can howl like a dying animal if she has the least bit of discomfort whatsoever lmao.

10. Who had a weird phase?

I guess Cerie? I don't think either of them really had a weird phase, to be honest. But Cerie definitely had a defiant teenage angst phase.

11. Best cook of the family?

Both of them are shit cooks and hate doing it. If Uileac's husband, Orrinir, was not there to feed them, both of them would die. However, if you put a sword to their throat and forced them to cook, Uileac's food would probably not kill you.

12. Best memory together?

Probably Uileac's wedding to Orrinir. They danced all night, got super drunk, and then came home to their brand new house in Goldnin <3 Of course Cerie was allowed to live with the newlyweds. Wasn't even a question.

13. Worst memory together?

Their parents dying in the raid on the family farm in Quirnis. I'll let Uileac take it away with his explanation from Funeral of Hopes:

Heading out to The Windswept, where the nomadic tribes of Breme still do their typical nomadic things. Uileac has always wanted to get a Windswept pony because they're much sturdier than the horses one can get in the settlements (sorry, Erix, it's true). Cerie wants to hear their oral traditions and learn more about their folk religions to better understand how it differs from High Poetry. She's also always wanted to meet people from the Seinn tribe, which produced the first saint of her religion, Saint Luridalr. Being strictly nomadic, the Seinn don't visit the Bremish settlements like some of the other tribes do.

15. Would you rather not be able to shower for a month or have the same clothes for a month?

Cerie: Shower. She could probably deal with having the same clothes for a month, though she'd complain about it the whole time. Uileac: Same clothes. No one said you couldn't wash them, right? He'll just go naked for a lil bit.

16. Who's the older one?

Uileac is older by about four years.

17. Describe each other in three words

Cerie would describe Uileac as: Prideful, composed, protective Uileac would describe Cerie as: Stubborn, intelligent, loyal

18. Role model?

Cerie's role model is her mentor, Irith Druidinn. Irith has been her teacher since she was incredibly young and has taught her everything she knows about High Poetry. She hopes to be half the poet that her teacher is. Uileac's role model is their late father, Papa Seorus. He strives to always make his father proud, but unfortunately, he doesn't really know what his father would consider honorable, given that Papa Seorus died when Uileac was just 11.

19. Who usually has the worst ideas?

One would think it would be Cerie, given that she's younger and more stubborn, but it's actually Uileac. His bad ideas are generally about protecting his reputation and/or his loved ones, which doesn't always mesh well with what he's supposed to be doing.

20. A GIANT insect is on the wall, who's taking care of it?

Uileac for sure. Cerie is screaming and waving her arms as if that will make the bug go away. Meanwhile, Uileac is pulling out his bow and trying to do a trick shot. A moving target! How exciting! (Hey, you said it was GIANT, definitely big enough for him to hit.) Then, of course, Cerie yells at him for shooting a fucking arrow through the wall while he shrugs and says it's good practice. Never know when the Sinans might learn to harness insect warriors. If he misses, the hubbub has attracted Orrinir, who does the intelligent thing and takes it outside.

el territorio de un tiempo sin medidas donde el pasado que no sucedió se encuentra con un futuro que nunca llega y que da como resultado la linea temporal en la que habitamos, llena de errores que se convierten en esquemas, en ejemplos y posteriormente en emblemas de un momento. Lopatin lo ha hecho desde sus días en Games, y lo ha continuado explorando y explotando para llegar a un décimo material que se siente igualmente abstracto y surrealista que aterrizado y molecular, una amalgama mutante punzocortante con icebergs que aterrizan en tierras calientes, momentáneamente creando océanos de nubes que se evaporan entre arena, melodías que llenan de belleza pequeños bunkers grisáceos de la posguerra, destruídos y oxidados por el tiempo, pero que ven nacer nuevos brotes de vegetación, la única perseverancia existe en el abandono y en la soledad absoluta.

“Again” encuentra así múltiples personalidades de su creador, como un dios benevolente que decide juntar a sus vástagos para narrar de una manera superior y múltiple las escenografías más angulares de la música electrónica que deconstruye el pop pulsante, pero que igual deja que surjan entre las grietas las influencias de la música experimental batallando contra lo que significa la aceptación. Es de alguna forma el plano para mucha música del futuro, que al ser redescubierto brindará toda una generación de creadores, -o tal vez no-, y que de manera circular también ofrece una narrativa biográfica al trabajo de alguien que navega entre la producción de las altas esferas y su apasionante acercamiento a lo disímil, un pequeño universo donde colapsan soles y absorben planetas que contienen enormes pensamientos, habitantes, sonidos eternos que permanecen como un eco en el vacío. 

9 - Baxter Dury - I Thought I Was Better Than You

Baxter posee la elegancia de una navaja automática heredada por su padre pero perfeccionada por una generación maldita de crooners. Él mismo lo deja claro haciendo una fina analogía en el primer track de este material, hilando Citizen Kane y la genealogía de Kubla Khan, -que se menciona en la película-, como si fueran una maldición, y posteriormente aclarando que por más que digan que es una versión absurda y fuera de tono de Serge Gainsbourg, él quisiera ser Frank Ocean.

La lírica de los Dury sin embargo, persiste gracias a una inteligencia casi molesta que demuestra que pudieron ser poetas, pero son demasiado elegantes para eso (y al mismo tiempo callejeros como las ratas) y si no fuera porque Baxter es profundamente melancólico, no tendría el encanto natural que se refleja en sus emocionales baladas de post funk spoken word. Cosa que lo aparta de su padre.

La cualidad, probablemente más fuerte sin embargo, es el sentido del humor que nuestro protagonista ha perfeccionado con el tiempo, desde aquellos años en los que parecía ir en contra de todo lo que significaba ser hijo de Ian Dury y evocaba, -o trataba más bien de-, ser una estrella del indie de principios del nuevo milenio. Ahora, es más bien una especie de viejo apostador, que se mantiene de anfetaminas y martinis, y así se siente correcto.

“Pensé que era mejor que tú” en la superficie parece un reclamo hacia el padre, una reflexión del pasado, pero también un intento escapista de la carga autoimpuesta de los errores que cada uno se ha ganado a pulso. Eso sí, con un ritmo exquisito y lineas de bajo que Rick James en opiáceos habría soñado.

8 - Squid - O Monolith

A pesar de las probables ridículas implicaciones de una etiqueta como post Brexit, algo de verdad radica en las posiciones temporales específicas y geográficas de un movimiento artístico en particular. El tiempo como máximo ecualizador de las siempre mal llamadas escenas, -quiero decir más bien movidas-, se encarga de aclarar por qué algo tan absurdo como llamarle punk a un estilo de rock mas bien tradicional en la estructura, pero cambiante en la ejecución, tendría relevancia e importancia.

Entonces, en el mundo del post, donde todo es y está después de algo, y nada es puramente nuevo, lo más referencial en cantidad puede sentirse de alguna forma fresco ¿es acaso la homogeneidad el enemigo natural de la música de guitarras en los tiempos de los sobados y sobrevalorados Arctic Monkeys? Yo diría que sí.

Squid, de todos los proyectos que entran en esa misma bolsa revoloteada del llamado post Brexit, es la banda más auténtica y menos complaciente. Son hijos espirituales sí, de un Robert Wyatt, pero también conocen las ventajas de la síntesis electrónica vía Edgar Froese, y cuando quieren pueden robar de los Talking Heads más frenéticos, esos a los que Eno dio forma en Remain In Light. También saben usurpar los colores de un Oingo Boingo cuando se lo proponen, pero cuando no, pueden desechar absolutamente todas esas referencias y crear agujeros temporales que coquetean con el progresivo (menos las partes aburridas), o evocar la psicodelia de los krautrockers más de avanzada, y tal vez sean de hecho los únicos en el mundo que lo logran de manera natural.

7 - James Holden - Imagine This Is a High Dimensional Space of All Possibilities

A veces cierro los ojos y pienso en cielos que he visto, y a esos cielos le agrego colores, formas y posteriormente sonidos. A esos sonidos les agrego palabras o emociones que no necesariamente son reales, son abstractas y muchas veces llenas de más emociones que se mezclan como el aceite en un charco después de la lluvia, hermosas y contaminadas, brillantes y metálicas en un pavimento sucio y negro que parece casi juguetón, como un arcoíris venido a menos y que sueña con volver a cruzar el cielo en un día de verano. También a veces todo eso se convierte en un recuerdo de la infancia, que después de repetirlo por unos cuantos años, se confunde con lo que viví y lo que imaginé y me da una especie de tranquilidad equiparable al olor inidentificable de una presencia del pasado, como de un amor efímero o una mirada traslúcida. 

Hace algunos años conocí a James Holden, platicamos durante unos minutos. No recuerdo las cosas que me dijo. 

6 - Water from Your Eyes - Everyone's Crushed

Las particularidades de lo disímil, atonal y en pocas palabras raro, siempre han funcionado como un impulso para la evolución. Hoy en día sin embargo, es raro encontrar algo que entre en el reino de lo raro de forma natural o de manera auténtica, sin trata de impresionar, sino simplemente como una muestra real de liberación, como esa necesidad de querer decir algo, no de echarlo al ruedo esperando que gane un premio, sino como un espíritu que puede merodear diferentes locaciones y traspasar las paredes sin querer ser notado, pero que no puede pasar desapercibido.

WFYE ha sido ese espíritu en un mundo de muestreo, pose, pre-saves y demás prácticas que odio con toda mi alma en el mercadeo musical de estos días, que trata de hacer de las cosas algo tendencioso y que busca validación a través de las maquinarias y bla bla bla… esa historia también ya nos la sabemos. Esta es música que va contra las probabilidades, contra las fórmulas, y que poco le importa ser consumida. Resume una historia donde caben bandas de electrónica experimental, y también Deerhoof o Battles, y al mismo tiempo se ayuda de sampleos dignos de los primeros sintetizadores digitales de los noventa. El trabajo de guitarras es ejemplar, y puede recordar a los mejores momentos del más cuadriculado no wave, pero también hay momentos de extraña e inclasificable belleza, cosa que incluso la misma banda no puede describir o etiquetar, y eso siempre será una buena señal.

5 - Paris Texas - MID AIR

Pasé unos cuantos años alejado del rap por hastío. Vi un género que en un momento de hartazgo con la música de guitarras me pareció lo más fresco, convertirse en lo más genérico, en el tipo de música que escuchaba la gente que consideraba más común, todos aquellos que representaban lo que yo quería pelear. Vi a las peores mentes de mi generación cantar a Biggie y Tupac, hablar de Kanye y Kendrick, poner en sus fiestas a Big L, Outkast y NWA, vi asimilación, el enemigo se había apropiado de algo que en el pasado me había salvado, y no me gustó para nada. 

Luego el rap se empezó a ramificar una vez más y volvió esa parte dura, oscura, melancólica y un poco más compleja con la que sí conectaba, y de todos esos que no están en el lado ganador con los Tylers y los Drakes (dios nos libre) salieron Paris, Texas, que poco importa si son fans de Wim Wenders, pero que definitivamente se nota que sí y eso ya es un punto a su favor. La consecuencia por supuesto puede remitirse a algunos alt rappers de las ultimas dos décadas e incluso si nos apuramos, a colectivos más contemporáneos donde al igual que aquí, juegan muchos factores que nada tiene que ver musicalmente con el rap, como el rock, el pop (la rola que lleva por título “Lana Del Rey”) o la música electrónica e industrial (“BULLET MAN” que también se siente como un homenaje lateral a Shinya Tsukamoto), no voy a nombrar nombres eso sí. Este es uno de los álbumes de rap que más me emocionó en 2023 y me parece un excelente termómetro de lo que viene para el futuro, quiero creerlo, y si no, mientras tanto tenemos uno de los mejores trabajos en el hip hop de los nuevos años veinte. 

4 - Yo La Tengo - This Stupid World

Yo tuve un sueño, y en ese sueño Yo La Tengo eran más influyentes que Sonic Youth. Es un sueño sin sentido porque a quién le importa eso, no hay necesidad de comparar ambas (y grandiosas) bandas, pero como muchos sueños reside en un deseo primario que tiene que ver con la fantasía de ver a una de los proyectos más interesantes de la historia ser tratados con justicia. En mi mundo ideal Yo La está lidereando festivales alrededor del mundo y todas las bandas mediocres que no me gustan, se rinden ante su grandeza, aceptando por fin que un track hipnótico de doce minutos vale más que sus baladillas edulcoradas de rocksito desgastado. 

En dicha fantasía también, este disco, el número diecisiete en su discografía, es tan importante para el mundo como lo es para mí y aprecian con emoción la autenticidad de este trío y su inalcanzable energía. Viva Yo La Tengo, y muerte a todas las bandas que no me gustan.

3 - John Cale - MERCY

En el mundo no existe la justicia, porque si existiera todos estarían hablando de este disco. Valoraríamos como un fenómeno de la naturaleza que a su edad y después de tantas vicisitudes, John Cale haga un trabajo como este, un ejercicio de belleza absoluta que no pide prestado del pasado y que más bien pinta un panorama del presente como casi ningún artista o músico joven lo hace. Por supuesto que ocho décadas en este planeta le han enseñado varias cosas a uno de los originales, a una de las mentes más influyentes del rock y la música experimental, al responsable de enseñarle el ruido a Lou Reed y de traducir el minimalismo de La Monte Young y Riley a los rockers, pero como decía esto no se trata sobre el pasado.

Cale, juntó a la gente más importante de la música experimental de esta generación y lanzó uno de los discos más crípticos y hermosos del año, al cual el estatus de rock le queda más que corto, y que si bien también puede hacernos pensar en su trabajo con Eno y con Nico, se siente también como una pieza independiente, nueva y ciertamente fresca a pesar de toda la carga histórica que involucra a su autor. John Cale le sobrevivió prácticamente a toda la Velvet Underground, a varios de sus discípulos y a cientos de otros músicos de su generación y las que le han seguido, es uno de los maestros y de los inventores de la música de guitarras, es prácticamente un gurú del ruido y a la vez un artesano de la melodía, y este disco es una proeza, un logro y un regalo para la humanidad y todos aquellos que amamos la música.

2 - JPEGMAFIA & Danny Brown - SCARING THE HOES

¿has visto a alguien hacer algo que te parece fácil y luego intentarlo y darte cuenta que no sólo no es fácil sino que todo lo contrario es sumamente difícil y probablemente no lo puedas hacer nunca como ver a un atleta de alto rendimiento cruzar en segundos kilométricos pedazos de violencia con una mirada fría y una mente enfocadísima que sólo tiene como objetivo el romper los límites de la realidad como si se tratara de una telaraña que por un momento contuvo contra las leyes de la física objetos animales o conceptos metafísicos abstractos o simples y que más allá de ser o no tangibles reúnen de forma concreta una enorme cantidad de información que por separado es imposible descifrar y que en conjunto es casi igual de difícil de entender pero como está encimada de una manera ordenada pero caótica la entiendes como si se tratara de un cuadro de Jackson Pollock traducido no al jazz sino al lenguaje del internet con todo y memes y música de comerciales y hip hop de los dosmil y sampleos de boy bands y música extrañísima casi como si fuera un concurso de quién puede hacer más rara la vida y más rara la música y más rara la realidad aunque la realidad siempre será más rara que cualquier canción de JPEGMAFIA & Danny Brown?

1 - André 3000 - New Blue Sun

Aunque no catalogado como tal por André 3000, “New Blue Sun” es esencialmente un disco de ambient inherentemente ligado a la belleza de lo cotidiano y rastreando cierta energía que históricamente ha sido impulsada por la figura más grande del género: Brian Eno, nombre que no podemos olvidar ni obviar en este tipo de esfuerzos sonoros, musicales o exploratorios del universo del aire siendo movido por la fuerza de la acción.

Sin embargo, ya en lo práctico, la primera persona a la que se puede referir inmediatamente al escuchar este material no es per se Eno, sino uno de sus colaboradores y, por propio mérito, uno de los grandes emblemas de la música experimental, -si es que podemos hablar de emblemas en este circuito-, Jon Hassell. Y es justo en este punto en lo que hay que hacer hincapié. Como movida artística el ambient y sus variantes llevan más de cincuenta años siendo explorados de diferentes maneras y formas que nacen de una tradición que también por sus propios méritos han generado discusión y teorización durante mucho tiempo gracias a su discreta evolución desde la llamada ola de los minimalistas, término que cada uno de los involucrados desprecia y que debería se analizado por separado. 

Sin embargo en función del contexto, vale la pena hacer una linea temporal que tiene también que ver con la opinión pública y la figura del músico como un ente creador casi divino, mejor, especial y distinto al resto de los humanos. Esto por su puesto se ha de demostrado en numerosas ocasiones ser una falacia completa. Pero tal como sucede en un conjunto de sonidos que crean cierta armonía, no podemos separar algunos de los elementos que forma al artista y su contexto. No hace falta mencionar o ser específicos al hablar de André 3000 como uno de lo zeniths del rap y de la música afroamericana contemporánea, sin embargo, sí es necesario tener en cuenta la función de su papel como estrella de pop en la incursión que tienen para la música experimental y específicamente para los terrenos del ambient.

He aquí un dilema que en otra ocasiones ha derramado sangre dentro de los círculos musicales, la figura del otrora rockstar o emblema de la música pop que en el hartazgo de la agitada vida de los reflectores decide buscar paz en espacios que los extraños y olvidados han habitado por décadas, esos cómodos lugares de nicho semi desaparecidos que sólo aquellos obsesivos y meticulosos han querido habitar en relativa oscuridad, y que casi con una devoción religiosa han hecho crecer poco a poco, como si de una pequeña comunidad de monjes alejados del mundo metamoderno se tratara. Ahí los que incluso son famosos, no lo son, los Basinskis, los Tim Heckers, no son un tercio de lo significativos que una Taylor Swift o un Harry Styles son para la cultura popular, o en todo caso el tan cacheteado mainstream. Y ahí en medio de esos ganadores y perdedores de los números y el streaming reside justamente la calamidad por la que un personaje como André 3000 llama tanto la atención. 

Por una parte todos aquellos que deseaban verle regresar como un olvidado campeón que desde el Olimpo vuelve para darle vida a un género que se siente por momentos cansado después de la absorción a la normalidad, y por otro lado todos los que optimistamente abrazan lo que un artista en su madurez tiene que ofrecer sin relación a su pasado y sus glorias de antaño. Ambos puntos son válidos y al mismo tiempo cancelables ¿quién tiene el derecho de juzgar el trabajo de un artista? ¿los fanáticos que han seguido la carrera al pie de los beats? ¿aquellos que desconocen o no sienten ningún apego emocional al pasado? Incluso podríamos decir que ninguno de los dos.

Parte importante del ambient reside en que desde su concepción como movimiento ideológico, no musical, sino conceptual, Eno lo describió como una serie de piezas pensadas para acompañar y no para capturar la atención total, ahí por supuesto podemos encontrar diferentes ramificaciones del oficio y ver sus distintas intenciones dependiendo de lo que el respectivo creador busque, algunos por supuesto, lo ven desde esa particularidad casi funcionalista del Music For Airports, y otros lo ven desde la casi religiosidad mántrica del jazz espiritual, todo por su puesto depende de qué tanto nos tomemos en serio de qué va cada cual, y al final en cualquiera de las situaciones el escucha es el que decide cómo acercarse a estos diferentes materiales, en resumen todo depende.

En ese sentido podemos ver desde diferentes perspectivas el “New Blue Sun”, una lúdica y una más abstracta y seria. Habrá quienes en la decepción por supuesto, no encuentren valor en ninguna de la dos y su juicio más temprano y a medias válido, será calificar de aburrido e incluso molesto o autocomplaciente y snob este material, en ese caso no hay mucho que decir al respecto, más que invitar a aquellos a que revisen el material ya existente de Outkast.

La intromisión entonces de una figura tan disruptiva para el núcleo ideológico anti star system del ambient y similares, como lo es la de André, permite diferentes situaciones, una es la asimilación de esta música hacia un público que tal vez por primera vez pueda disfrutar la serenidad y lento desarrollo de este tipo de música experimental, y por otro lado, el cómo esto se va a infiltrar en una nueva generación de músicos que permearán estos sonidos y conceptos en la música pop, el rap, electrónica y demás que están en función de la popularidad.

La búsqueda aquí es clara, no se trata sobre la nostalgia del personaje, la remembranza o el ego de un monstruo del rap, no es sobre quien es The GOAT, ni si André tiene que demostrar nada, es simple, pura y hermosa liberta creativa y en ese terreno, ya es un material exitoso. Si los números no le favorecen, el tiempo lo hará, porque esta música esta hecha para perdurar las modas, para trascender el espacio y el tiempo, para ponerse a lado de los discos de Laraaji, de Hassell, de Eno e incluso de los Coltrane.

Russian stealth hunting Su-57 is ready for export

Russia is ready to receive export orders for its Su-57 poaching after completing its development program.

Officials of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) declared at the ongoing Dubai Air Show that, "if our foreign partners contact us, we are ready to start working on this topic". They noted that several customers are already showing “growing interest” in Su-57 aircraft.

Since the end of 2022, the Russian Aerospace Forces have received three batches of Su-57, most of which are actively involved in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Notably, some of these aircraft have the latest 'Product 30' engine, also recognized as the 'second stage', improving the thrust and super crucing capabilities of the stealth jet.

The Su-57 launches missiles and bombs from its internal compartment - an exclusive feature shared only by a few selected aircraft around the world.

In the field of fifth-generation aircraft available for export, the Russian Su-57 is next to the F-35 as a singular competitor.

Rostec's recent announcement announces the start of the 5ª generation Su-57 serial multifunctional fighter equipment with 2º stage post-combustion turbojet engines, labeled as 'Product 30'. With a post-combustion thrust of 18,000 kgf and a maximum thrust of 11,000 kgf, this advance amplifies the thrust-to-weight ratio of vehicles by 1.2 times (increasing from 1.13 to 1.36 kgf/kg with normal takeoff weight with 63% fuel).

This improvement translates into an increased ascent rate, ranging from 330 to 340-350 m/s, along with an increase in angular velocity during constant curves. In addition, it raises the service ceiling and supersonic cruise flight speed to 2,150-2,200 km/h and the maximum speed to an impressive 2,600-2,700 km/h.

Notably, the engines at the center of this advance were created by the team of the JSC Salyut Gas Turbine Research and Production Center.

The Sun in Cancer

I think that one of the quickest ways to understand Cancer  is to take a look at the sign’s zodiac symbol, the crab. The crab is a liminal animal, straddling both land and sea. Cancers are creatures of the water, but they dwell mostly on the shore. Their strength lies in their emotional experiences of the world. It is through their emotional sensitivity that they perceive the world and they place a lot of self-worth in their ability to be sensitive. We live in a world that does not value sensitivity - being sensitive is dangerously subversive because it requires us to be aware of the way we are impacting the lives of others including the life of our beautiful ocean planet. Another aspect of the crab to pay attention to is that it carries it home with it everywhere and has a hardy, defensive exterior with a soft interior. Being sensitive requires the ability to retreat and recuperate because deep feeling all the time can be overwhelming. Carrying their homes with them, Cancer folk are also often concerned about home life in general and creating homely, welcoming, and nurturing spaces.

While the sensitivity of Cancer and their ability to move between the world of the physical and the emotional with ease can be a great gift, it can also be one of Cancer’s greatest struggles. Their sensitivity can become overwhelming and they can retreat from the world of large, becoming apathetic, depressed, defensive or some combination thereof. If they haven’t invested enough time in or valued the importance of emotional intelligence, they can find themselves in inappropriate relationships that can be codependent, draining, and emotionally coercive. All of this can dampen Cancer’s ability to trust and have faith in the goodness of others. They risk shifting from a liminal creature of wisdom  to something a bit more crabby. Sometimes, Cancer folk can get caught up in past emotional experiences, placing priority on those memories and that version of reality rather than the current reality of the present. Yet, when Cancer folks are dwelling in their power, they have an incredible gift to journey into the past, return, and teach us about healing our ancestral heritage and tapping into a lineage of wisdom. 

Within the context of medical astrology, Cancer folk are typically not the most inherently energetic of the signs of the zodiac. They have to pay close attention to how they expend their energy, but with care they can do well. Time for retreat and relaxation is important. Since they are a sign that is very lunar-oriented, spending some time in the sun (especially in the early morning) is good for recharging their energetic centers, but should not be overdone. They should also give themselves space to be quiet and creative under the light of their guardian planet, the Moon. A consciously consumed diet is important and being aware of the relationship between feelings and eating is one of their keys to longevity. While exercise is not the favorite activity of many Cancer folk, like everyone, the crab needs to move their body. Swimming, gentle yoga, and breathing exercises will all be beneficial. The gifts of Cancer folk are manifold and include the ability to connect with parts of our emotional landscape we thought we would never find again. They help us find the shore and that is such a gift as we remember to return home to ourselves again and again.   

Cancer Guardian Herbs 

Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis)

The form of Aloe Vera is reminiscent of the energetics that Cancer embodies - a hard, spiky exterior filled with soft, liquid wisdom. The inner gel of the plant is cooling and moist, alleviating inflammation in the body both internally and externally. The gel of the plant’s inner lining can be drunk daily as a nutritive and immune-building remedy. Excellent for burns, Aloe is also good for emotional, mental, and spiritual burn-out that is so common during these times of great change. The regenerative quality of Aloe means that it helps us to form new tissue cells, which is why the plant is useful in the treatment of scars. Aloe is moistening not only topically but internally as well assisting with hydration and re-hydration after exertion or prolonged sun exposure. The plant is also useful for moistening dried out bowels, improving digestion, and general vitality.

Aloe is used topically for a variety of conditions including sunburn, burns, bedsores, athlete’s foot, bruises, wrinkles, ulcers, herpes, abrasions, ringworm, shingles, dandruff, insect bites, eczema, psoriasis, hemorrhoids, and the itch of chicken pox. Deeply nourishing, Aloe helps us to relax and be present in the moment to what we need now which is a primary gift of Cancer folk.

Cancer Remedy Herbs 

Chamomile (Matricaria recutita)

Chamomile is both a Guardian and Remedy herb of Cancer. It is an herb with an affinity for the stomach, which Cancer guards. Chamomile is also an herb for emotional upsets that manifest in the stomach and digestive tract. Think about the person (maybe you!) who gets a nervous or upset stomach during emotionally challenging times - Chamomile is a fantastic ally. The herb is bitter and sweet which helps us to produce fluids such as bile for digestion, but also helps us to digest our emotions properly. Do you see how Chamomile is both an herb of Guardianship and Remedy for Cancer? 

Chamomile is an herb forcolic-y children and young ones who have great emotional sensitivity that can make moving through the world difficult. Yet, because it is also an herb of Cancer, it has the ability for all of us at any age to connect with our inner kid, which is an exceptional quality when it comes to emotional healing. Many of us are carrying around emotional baggage from our young and formative years that can keep us floundering or stagnating in our present life. Chamomile can help us to process these difficult emotions, by gently reconnecting us with who we were before so that we can move on to who we are becoming.

Since Cancer is so deeply situated within the realm of the emotions I could easily list out a hundred essences I could recommend for Cancer Sunfolk. I have chosen to go with Agrimony, alsoknown as the remedy for the tortured smile. Agrimony is for folks who are experiencing a storm of emotions inside but maintain a cheerful exterior at all costs - hence the tortured smiling. Cancer folk can sometimes fall into this pattern when they don’t feel like they have a safe space to express their emotions and have them be valued. Sometimes, Cancer folk can get so caught up in hiding their emotions from others that they successfully hide what they are feeling from themselves. Such emotional hiding suppression can lead to all sorts of discomfort and imbalance in their lives. I think Agrimony essence is also useful for those folks coping with post-traumatic stress disorder as it is very good at helping us to connect with what we are feeling deep within as opposed to connecting solely to how we are reacting in the moment. Agrimony assists us in expressing our true emotions and through that actually cultivating an authentically cheerful disposition.
