what does a tdick like... actually look like? or how they behave post-testoterone and pre-surgery? I haven't really been able to find like anything educational about how they work- what the look like, how they differ from other genitalia during sex and/or arousal, any of that stuff. I'd really appreciate it if you could explain it?
Bottom Growth or T-Dick Info:
For educational purposes only
I will be calling a "T-dick" a "T-phallus" in this answer.
I highly suggest all read through my second source, it is very informative about growth, sensations, and also has some good general knowledge as well.
Clitoral hypertrophy: the clitoris growing in length and width while taking testosterone.
So a t-phallus very much looks like the head of a penis, the shape, the contours, it just doesn't have a hole for urination like a penis or a shaft especially when you are aroused. A t-phallus gets erect when you are aroused just like a penis. It is considered the pleasure organ.
During arousal (turned on), it actually swells up and fills with blood, becoming erect and more stiff (hard)
While your t-phallus gets bigger on testosterone many people describe their changes in their orgasms and pleasurable feeling. For example you may like a different kind of touch now because that feels more pleasurable. "Some people describe feeling a more erection-like sensation when aroused." - source 2
Typical bottom growth on testosterone therapy is typically 1 to 4 cm, sometimes even more, this growth varies. One small study¹ about bottom surgery reported the average length of bottom growth measured from 2.5 cm to 4 cm in the study participants who eventually underwent surgery. Another study² found that at the one year mark, the average growth was 4.6 cm.
During sexual intercourse with someone with female genitalia: will require you to use a dental dam as protection (dental dam information), this is just basically a sheet of latex or another kind of plastic (like male condoms), to prevent direct contact. You don't not just need to use one during oral sex but if you are rubbing your genitals together it may be a good idea. If you are sharing toys make sure to clean them thoroughly between using it on the opposite person. (Making sure sex toys are clean is always a good idea).
If you are having sexual intercourse with cis males/ male genitalia: you should be requiring that person to wear a condom, even if they are trans themselves, any bodily fluid contact can spread a STI. Or you can use female condoms.
Here are some articles on sexual health.

- a more realistic view.
You can see that there is a tip that gets slightly thinner with the connective tissues. So you have a head of a penis to put it very generally and your 'shaft' is almost buried in the connective tissue/ hood (which I used to call my 'foreskin', it made me feel more comfortable.

Fun facts: We all are actually considered to have female genitalia in the womb until about the second trimester of pregnancy, then your body gets a flood of either estrogen (X) or testosterone (Y), which is what tells your body to form the genitals. This is actually interesting because it shows that the clitoris is actually a tiny penis in a way, since it actually does become a penis as a fetus develops. - I learned this in my child development class.

I run a blog about ftm transition. I go into everything from t to surgical procedures and sexual health. Feel free to check me out!
-Zestual @answersfromzestual
So much trans advice I see online is mainly for trans femmes/trans women (in the vein like "estrogen will do x, t and z, be careful!" And things like "testosterone blockers will so these things too") and that's really awesome and I'm glad the girls got each other,
but most of the advice for trans guys i had to seek out myself. (And I still don't know like much past "testosterone makes you retain body heat" and I don't know about any of the other effects like stuff for trans girls being a diuretic and can make hydration harder most of the side effects lists for testosterone therapy don't mention those things despite my hours worth of research) And yeah it's good to do your own research, but like I have to get my warnings from scientific journals and whatnot. I'm not qualified to give any of the advice bc I'm still pre-everything (hormones, surgery). Like social transition is all I have rn. Anyway if there's any good like resources made by trans men/mascs for trans men/mascs please drop it below and we can help our fellow guys out! 🫶
But yeah any trans guys that can offer some health advice regarding post-op, hrt, effects of testosterone and so on, it'd be super appreciated!

Terms to Input Into a Search Engine:
"Female to male transition" - the full term and proper medical terminology will help you find reliable sources. Using quotes around a phrase like this will help zero in on the exact words or phrases you have input.
We want to use terms that would be used in the medical field (the real, biological names for your reproductive organs clitoris, vagina, urethra, penis, phalloplasty (not just "phallo"), breast augmentation. Using professional terms will bring up more professional and reliable sources.
"Urethraplasty" or "urethra lengthening procedure" - this will help you find more reliable studies on the subject of urethra lengthening operations for example.
Finding out the actual medical term for a procedure will increase the accuracy of results.
Rewording your phrases- if you know the name for something and you cannot seem to find anything about it that relates to you. Try rewording the search terms, reorganize the words.
If you do not know the name of something, you only know the "slang" term, input that term similar to: "what does *input phrase* mean?" - I often have to do this when I get asked and do not know what slang terms are defined as. Sometimes even add the words "Urban dictionary" and the term will come up with a definition that will include a more specific wording to use in your search.
I know it sucks to have to use terms that are mainly referred to the female body/ reproductive organs. But using this biological terminology, you will get more accurate and reliable information and find useful sources for other reasons as well.
If you are really stumped, nothing is coming up. Try finding an important word(s) and quoting them individually, separated using commas. Ex. "Chest masculinization", "gender affirmation", "surgeons", "Ohio". This would help you find a top surgeon in Ohio for example.

Sorry you all, I kept forgetting to set it to a week...
No one will know what you voted but you.
Be honest please.
I want to know how you particular people (as in people who want body affirmation surgeries or to be transmasculine) feel in the community.

Do NOT speak about the conflict in the middle East, last time I'm saying it. I will instantly block you. If you have comments keep them to yourself. This is at the end of the day my blog, my hard work, it is a privilege to use my blog, not a right.
This blog is not political, I will not tolerate comments and reblogs that are inappropriate.
Keep political feelings off my posts and blog and everything will be fine.

Don't worry about coming to me with questions (blog related). I will never turn away a fellow human that needs help. My job is to educate the community and the outside world about transition. Which includes answering any questions you have. If you think it's embarrassing, don't worry someone else has probably asked as well. Don't be embarrassed.
I may not have personal experience with some question topics (ex. Metoidioplasty), but I am extremely knowledgeable in the subjects of this blog.
I started this blog specifically about phalloplasty, but I realized other topics were being manipulated as well. That's why I just became a gender affirmation surgery blog.
I am happy to help people understand or get more personal details of the information I have provided.
Note: this blog should be used as a resource, hopefully along with your own research. You should be be confident and understand the actual medical community.

I lost 1 1/2 of my nipples during the healing process. After three or four years, I had them tattooed back on. My left looks near perfect to me, and that one was just a tiny little spot of nipple left. I know exactly it was 100% my fault. I was told to take the bandages off wet (you want to get into the shower with the bandages on and soak them through. The goal here is to gently part the bandage from your nipple skin without pulling or tearing your nipple skin), but my young self 'knew better' apparently. I also did not realize the 'scab looking' things were my actual nipples.
Before chest surgery I worked out a lot to build my chest up. The spots also have sensation in other ways as well.
Yes, I do feel more sensitive over the spots where my real nipples used to compared to the rest of my chest. I love chest rubs.
Listen to what the professionals have to say.
Some advice I have to help prevent losing your nipples after the flap procedure never take your bandages off dry (soak them as mentioned above), do not touch/pick at them (skin or bandages), not scratching when it itches even over the bandage, just let the soapy water cover your nipples when showering, and do not scrub, and follow surgeon's and nurses' orders of your chest/nipple care when you get home.
Good luck with your journey, everyone!
Stay Golden Everyone ✌️ 💙 💜

I've heard some people say that HRT/testosterone can cause like. a degenerative bone disease? I can't remember what it's called- something like osteoporosis I think- but I honestly have no idea if it's fear mongering or not and I've been really worried about it recently even though I really want to go on T eventually- is there any validity to those claims?
So according to my research and the several medical studies I read were women, men and transgender studies.
Blanket answer, not for young people.
So according to the studies I read cacausion and asian women post menopause (middle aged and elderly) have the highest rate of osteoporosis. This is because there are no more sex hormones being produced.
Cis men had a way lower rate of osteoporosis, and the disease had a small correlation to lower hormone levels (lower Testerone levels).
The transgender study was not very big, but it did conclude that taking Testerone itself will not cause osteoporosis, but continuing hormone treatment and staying in safe levels actually led to transmen on constant hormone therapy, post hysterectomy, having a similar rate of osteoporosis as cis men.
So, actually taking and continuing testosterone hormone therapy will not have a negative affect on bone density.
However, genetics and medications also can play a roles in developing osteoporosis, but this is for anyone cis or trans. So there is always a small exception. This is really the only valid part of these claims. If you are not predisposed to osteoporosis, taking testerone therapy will not harm your bone density, it actually may help you keep your bone density longer than not on hormones.
I hope I answered your question.
If not let me know,
Thank you for being patient,
-Zestual ✌🏽 🩷🩵

Anon who sent me the ask about their parents "demonizing" your transition.
Parents have your life planned out for you before you are born (it's not fair, but it's how they are). So when you want to transition genders, all their "plans", "hopes", "dreams", etc. are "destroyed" (ex. they thought you'd grow up, get married, have babies, etc.). This is all a shock and something they will just have to get used to if they want to be in your life. I imagine you still live with them, so tread lightly. I tried to explain to my parents they are losing a very unhappy daughter and gaining a happy son. It wasn't easy. It still isn't. My chest has been done for over 15 years and my father won't look at me with my shirt off. My mother is the worst for misgendering me to this day, doesn't talk when I speak about having children one day. It used to make me mad, I'd start by correcting her, now I just tune it out, grit my teeth and I have been out for about three decades. Parents have a hard time coping, they are far from perfect so they can mess up. They see you transitioning as an absolute loss, and that's not your fault. It will take time, and you never know how long it will actually take for them to embrace it.
I do have an article on here for parents and phalloplasty, from a legitimate resource. If they would be interested/ willing to read it.
Don't you dare let them blame you for "destroying" their marriage, if they say that they are using this as an excuse because they have a probably unhappy marriage. This started long before you even told them, so don't blame yourself. That is not a very nice thing to say as a parent. Well none of it really is, but... They are using you as a lightning rod and I'm sorry for that.
For the time being I'm glad you found some solace in my blog. Feel free to vent to me anytime.
I am really sorry. There is nothing wrong with you, you are not the reason they are miserable, okay? You are perfect just as you are and are worth so much love. You deserved to be loved inside and out.
Please do not put yourself in harm's way, or get yourself thrown out on the street.
Do you have anyone you can talk to about this, an adult, therapist, school counselor, a relative, even an older sibling? Anyone that can maybe have your back if anything happens. Maybe create a plan if something happens.
I imagine you are such an amazing individual, I can tell you are fighting a fight and you're not taking your goal out of your sight. You are brave and stronger than you think. You should be very proud.
My blog is here whenever you need to get some support, or vent.
I'm sending you love, and good vibes. I'm always here if you need me.
-Zestual
P.s I hope you know they are wrong about the procedures and everything else. It is safe and common.
If they have questions, you can send them to me and I can try to answer anything you cannot.
I'm proud of you
Stay Golden ✌🏽💙❤️

I'm so terrified of sepsis after surgery. Or a UTI from the catheter that leads to sepsis. My mom nearly died from sepsis caused by uti and I have horrific trauma now and I'm worried it'll put me off getting my surgeries I need to become stealth
That is a scary, and I understand your drawbacks to surgery because of it.
I want to try to calm your fears.
Surgeons want the best results. With the amount of gender affirmation surgeries happening, doctors have gotten very good at their jobs. There is also a bit on you though, you would need to let your clinic know about anything unusual. Surgeon and clinic help are available after-hours, or at very least a nurse will talk to you. When I had my bladder infection it was extremely noticeable, I could not get comfortable, I could not stop wanting to take the catheter out.
But you do not have to get Urethra Lengthening (urethraplasty), if you do not want to either. You would just have to remain sitting while urinating, but you'd still have a functioning phallus.
I think about your mother, she got sick because she let the infection get out of control, she was too busy living life to either notice or care about the slight discomfort at first. It's not her fault, she has a family and to mom's they always come first. She may have been so busy she didn't even notice it until it got bad.
I just want you to know there are many signs before a Urinary Tract Infection can cause sepsis.
I have issues with my kidneys and bladder. It was very common pre phallo for me to get UTIs. For them to cause real damage they have to develop into infections further in the body, usually the kidneys. I'm saying this because I want you to know that generally having a UTI is not dangerous. There is a lot of discomfort involved however can easily be cured at early stages (even many later stages) by simple antibiotics.
I do not want you to feel that I am trying to say your fears aren't valid, because they are. But I think your mother was an extreme circumstance. Not all situations will lead from UTI to sepsis.
An indwelling catheter is very safe as long as you take the proper precautions. They do not require them to be in for nearly as long as when I had urethraplasty as well.
This is why I stress the importance during the healing period to ask questions to, be cautious, and be mindful of how your body feels. You will also have a surgical team at your beck and call, they want and need to know if anything is going on, such as: feeling feverish, the area around your urethra is hot to the touch, general discomfort, difficulty sleeping, vomiting, diarrhea, not being able to eat, and pain. These are all things you need to take really seriously. It's better to contact the clinic or your health care provider with a false alarm, then to not check in, and have some kind of infection develop.
A clinic will make sure that you are taken care of, so that you will have the best results you can have.
