I often think about all the people who were forced to go through their periods before reliable painkillers were invented. I just had period cramps so bad, I was frantically googling ‘how to tell the difference between period cramps, ovarian cysts, and a cute appendicitis’ while waiting for the painkillers to kick in and trying not to throw up from the pain. And how period cramps were probably the least of their problems. Absolutely insane. How did we survive as a species.

uhhh oh yeah my friend and i were hanging out after class under the shade of a tree and i noticed there were like pretty flowers and berries growing from it. i did my research and found out they were safe to eat but unfortunately we couldn’t reach any of them. but we did find some on the floor and after rinsing them they were pretty good

thinking about mackenzie fierceton again. all around nightmare situation for her that exposes SO many issues in american society. it wouldn't immediately strike one as a 'feminist issue' necessarily, but i think every single layer of the issue is affected by the fact that she's a woman, especially wrt to the denial of her childhood abuse.

I was gonna jokingly tell u a dynamic for me and gagamaru in kny but genuinely there r so many possibilities I have been forced to play this game properly and just let u go wild pls assign us beloved

gagamaru is eerily similar to inosuke, abandoned in the woods and raised by bears. despite being human he flourished under its care, his strength and reflexes allowed him to survive in the wild. instinct is something you polish and his years in the forests he called his home made him into a diamond. he was found by demon slayers who were hunting a demon that had been rumored to hide on this mountain. that same day, gagamaru found the bear that had raised him was killed by this demon and joined the slayers on their mission.

gagamaru proved his worth and the demon slayers took him to the corps to be administrated into the organization. you were the kakushi in charge of him after his admittance - looking into his training and education. you made his clothes, and his meals and the first thing he wrote was your name. gagamaru becomes very attached you, calling you his human and often finishes his missions early so he can see you again.

gagamaru survives the events of demon slayer not without losing a few of his fingers on his left hand in the final fight against muzan and a scar on his forehead. he still does not want to or finds it easy to acclimate to human society completely so you live in the countryside right outside a small village. the children enjoy playing with gagamaru and are often seen swinging on his arms.

But as sweet and trusting as u are (and just like the one before u), you fell prey to my charms and now you are here for a ride of insanely sweet words! or compliments, if you will. So, my dear Moonbeam, buckle up!!!

Where do i begin... okay. I guess you can tell a lot about someone by their first interaction with u and i remember how lovely u were, so earnest and genuine that it took me out! and then, I understood why. U are for real, the sweetest person I've ever met, not only by the way u interacted with me but by all the things i see ur friends say about you. The way u talked and interact with them, u give as much (and probably more) as u get. You match the energy of anyone perfectly and u say the most amazing things! and i'm not even talking about your writing because that's a whole other brand of compliments in itself.

You don't care we are in different fandoms even if most of the time we don't know what the other is talking about but we like it regardless. U make me feel seen and i can always count on u to see/interact with whatever stupid shit i reblog or say. I love that about us and u deserve a lot more compliments on a daily basis if u ask me. I love Jaguars, but people in Texas somehow don’t understand what a Jaguar is and say, “a panther/leopard?” every time. Sure….Yeah, they’re panthers, but they are a specific panther, a special panther, an all-American panther. And no, they are not a leopard. They aren’t on the same continent. One has a central and southern American-given name for a reason. “True wild beast that overcomes it’s prey at a bound”(Tupi-Guarani). Yaguara, Jaguareté. They don’t attack throats to make the kill like most large cats in their family and genus. Jaguars purposely grab the skull of any prey or threat and crush the skull with their teeth. They are beautiful and terrifying and important and in major danger from human intervention in forests and poaching from European settlers. They have a rich history with Indigenous religions. Luckily, they have multiple regions in the Americas that take this seriously and have reservations and breedings programs to get their numbers back up, as scary as they are. I am glad they’re mostly in Central and Southern American countries because I don’t want to be old one day and have to explain to a child that the iconic predator is gone like the used-to-be-iconic-and-known Californian Grizzly Bear.

   Breakfast-berries. These blackberries are from domestic bushes my father planted. The wild ones this year are tiny and extra sour because of dry conditions.

   I got a quick ride on Hero this morning around 7, while it was still cool. It was lovely, as any trip through the green woods is, but bittersweet. I have ridden a lot less the past year or so. I have less motivation to do it, such a lot of hip pain, and far more fear of falling. Having Rose-the-mare board here was good in many ways; now that she is gone I’m lightly considering getting a second horse. For Hero’s wellbeing, but also because for my daughter and me riding together is so much more fun than riding alone. I hesitate only because adding One More Thing to the farm seems imprudent when I’m stressed and everything is so  {waves hand around limply at the chaos}.

   Walking past all the middle-aged geldings at the fair was thought-provoking. Hmmm. You are so handsome. Hmmm. One Very True thing that the pushy saleslady I bought Hero from said; “If you ride a Tennessee Walker, you won’t ever want to ride another breed ever again.” Altho I have an abiding fondness for Morgans, too.

   It is raining here. I think I’ll curl up with a book and a cat.
