How about dumb puppy Logan having play time with kitten Virgil but as they play fight Virgil gets hornier and hornier until he pins and mounts Logan, Logan goes into breeding bitch mode and whines for more, their owners are watching and palming themselves at the show. Kitten Virgil still not being satisfied and getting fucked while he’s still fucking Logan so Logan is getting pressed into the floor by the weight of two sides!
…(〃ω〃) i might have gone a bit overboard, the thoughts had me in their grip
Logan might b the puppy but this ask has me barking like a dog

JJK Chapter 79: okay this arc sucks. The fact that there wasn't even a narrative transition/justification for why we are doing backstory time should have been sign enough I wouldn't like this.

I wonder how people find voice for their OCs?
Like when I design an oc I never really hear them...I just leave the voice to the viewers mind...
Like it's rare enough that they talk cause when I visualize scenes it's mostly the other character talking but I don't think I hear any sound?
But also like I don't see words like speech bubbles when they talk so there is something there
Just curious if anyone has any thoughts

i cant authors seriously if they dont take themselves seriously . or if they dont love the genre theyre trying to write in . even silly fun comedy stuff needs to have some basis of understanding with itself . it needs the sincerity . if you dont have that - if you dont care then why should i care

Queer history of Final Fantasy
I am replaying all the old final fantasies(mostly psp psone releases), first time with english localization and not the original jp.
Now i get it.
It all make sense now.
I couldn't understand the wave of "why shove the gays in our face" backlash of 16(even though, the non homophobic felt it was lacking since they didn't want to 'push it in yall face'). Like apperantly moat of the implication or straight up fruity moments in the old game was completely removed, or changed to the point of it being a 'silly thing'.
So lets clarify -
*Cecil(iv), your homeboy- an Non-binary (language is the best indication, but yeah i think it was a decision made for both female and male players to be able to relate to them, but yeah funny outcome non the less)
*Bartz(v)- outright bisexual, they didnt even hide it- next person on this list gonna make it make sense.
*faris(v)- an ftm transgender( at least in the original version, i know in some new iterations they scrapped the whole concept, but left it in in others?)- mainly speak about himself with (ore/boku- which is conventionally usally by male speakers), after finding out soem of the cast either use a female pronounce on him, but bartz constantly either avoid it or use male pronounce(or the nonbinary version which is usually reffered to kidz) but yeah, bartz was crushing on faris where he thought he was a cis male and unlike the other guy didnt shy away.
Lets jump a bit to 8-
Irvine(viii)- even though considered very handsome to the point he could get with any girl hed want, was even flirted with by selphie i think i need to remember, but he usually brush it off.
If anything he is either asexual, or gay(its very subtle, but its what called queer coding, and well see that allot from now on cause japan caught up to westerns norm on media)
Quina Quen (ix)- literally, a nonbinary- but i think they kept it in eng as well cause they are not human, but like black mages they have no sex, but unlike black mages they are 'genderless' and dont care for human norms.
Kuja(ix)- either gay/intersex/both.
Look at him.
Seriously that character confused a whole generation sexuality.
Like sephiroth, but unlike sephiroth he also have effeminate mannerisms, and until it was revealed by text it wasnt so obvious.sephiroth in jp have a confusing language because he himself is possed by jenova, so evem though i love this headcanon, sephiroth isnt trans actually.
Auron(x)- ahh yes, your favourite broody guy and probably where im gonna get tons of hate.
Auron is very subtle, but once you notice it its hard to deny.
I think Auron is gay, unlike jecht or braska- he did not have kids, denied arranged marriage, and followed jecht to dream zanarken just to save jecht only son- it was pretty obvious that auron loved jecht. He also loved braska but not as much, and it shows- that for auron it was more than friendship. You can see it with his attitude towards yuna vs tidus- with yuna he is nicer, politer. Liem you act when you babysit your friends /cousins child.
But to tidus, he is a full father figure. In their journey together they grow, and i think if he wasnt the boy of the man he loved he wouldn't treat tidus as his own. With all the scoldinngs in mind.
Paine(X-2)- qlmost forgot her, but yeah she's pretty gay for riku
I dont remember much though because if the mission structure of the game.
Larsa(xii) - ohh i see you boy, i see u. He is sus as hell. He is a kid so its pretty innocent(and relatable to us queer kidz)
Its pretty obvios that he is crushing on basch, innocently though. I know some ppl who shipped him with penelo, but canonically by spinoffs at least she and vann are an item.
Also they made sure it was obvious cause japan have this thing that a young character is crushing on a teacher, mentor , older characters in general(aka cc sakura- her friend crushing on a teacher, syaoran & sakura crushing on yukito, also happens in tons of pop culture media at that time, so im not surprised, but im happy this time its one sided, THANK GOD)
But yeah if you reached the ending its pretty obvious.
Fang & vanille(xiii)- the first lesbians couple! Terra(VI) was supposed to be the first but they were afraid it will make her less marketable so they scrapped her gf. They made them clear, but at the same time they tried to make sure pple wont be fetishizing them(they tried, at least).
I want to explain their story more but i think ill mess it up since i tend to mix up 13's lacie, falcie and all that jazz.
So ill just say that basically there are 2 world in 13, pulse and cacoon. Pulse is basically earth and cacoon is the moon. There is a god for each world called a falcie.
Few of them but ine for each major ones. Our main gand from cacoon, branded by a falcie to be slaves(lacie) vanille and fang are from pulse, and slaves of pulse lacie, so basically they are with the task of creating Ragnarok which is like the end of time and but limw they dont know cause the gods in this game is like 'yeah imma give you a mission but wont tell you beside weird non undersandable feaver dream and you need to figure out and fast or youll become this universe version of zombie, and if you do complete it you become a ceystal living forever but like, sleeping beauty style. So lose lose situation.
The focus of them both is different from the gang, caus the falcie of cacoon is evil so he gove them focus destroying cocoon while if fang& vannile mannaged to ruin that falcie and bring ragnarok theyll become a crystal, and they used it to save coccon from falling and crushing killing all the people in it, basically became a pillar in eternal sleep when they hheld each other.
But they are saved in later game only to... Lightning return which we wont talk about cause i hate timers.
I love the story of xiii, big part of it is vanille & fang, i havent played in english yet, but i will say, their story is one of the more meaningful on this list, very well developed and i will do it disservice if id try to explain it in few sentences - so do yourself a favour and play or watch the playthrough.
Ignis& gladio(xv)- here is when localization ruimed it. I know cause i palyed on jp dub with eng sub and heard the differences live- first of all gladio and ignis are completely different in jp, as individuals and as a pair- they were supposed to be the first dion& terrence moment, but it got scrapped and they went the vannile& fang route, only that bec they are men, the localization team missed the mark.
Gladio got pissed at noctis in the train because of ignis.
In jp its clear their bond is beyond friends, and not mention the fact that their AI is always stuck together, and that gladio isnt a womenizer in jp at all, and there is no fiancee/girlfriend.
In jp he said suggested there is someone he wants to be with but bec of the state of the world and them both being constantly in the battlefront he couldnt ask.
(and ignis clear his throat when everyone is like oh great, very subtle but it was leading to that)
Every stop of the train or erea post blindness gladio was with ignis not leaving him .
Also tabata san also said that they are more than friends. So there's that too.
But its no secret 15 localization is tereible, the massacared prompto, he is so cringy in english, in jp yeah he is funny but like he says more stuff then random pop colture references, he breaks the 4th wall occasionally but not on the same level of the localization. Also, jp noctis is a little shit because he can and will, in localization he is more relatable while ignos and gladio are kimda mean. In jp its the other way around and up until chap 13 (when he is alone) noctis is a bratt. He has some moments when he is nicer, but when struggle shows he is a bratt about it- and its done purposely since he is a spoiled pronce who never done anything alone in his life.
Thats why in chap 13 he has a change of heart, because he was alone and learned to appriciate his friends when he was stuck alone in the dark with no weapons and i think it was a good call storytelling wise, but yeah the english localzation ruined it and made the whole chapter pointless .
Those are the implied/canon gays of final fantasy up to 15(we got a kiss so its obvious).
The series has always been kinda Fruity and i know some of yall will be like, 'but there's no proof'. Well, japanese speakers(who arent homophobic at least) will agree with me that we tend in media that is not specified like BL or GL to make things subtle. So what in the west is called 'queer coding' is very common in japanese media and it comes in way more shape and forms.usually implied with a desper conncetion relationship or linguistics.its funny cause in the 80's and very early 90's gay pple wasnt hidden in jp pop culture (no kisses or anything but it was straight out told to the viewer/player)
And only later 90's there was a trend of removing us completely from the media, but around that time a specific genre was created so it wasn't out completely.(like yaoi/yuri as erotic mangas existed aince the 80's but usually only love stories or main gay characters were mixed in with the straight media, kimda like what netflix does today, but around 96, 97 the shounen ai and shoujo ai genres rose in popularity(mainly cause of clamp) and things got seperated. In games- because it became a bigger deal in the west square took caution with how clear they gonna make stiff not to piss of the christians after the backlash of Pokemon (idk how it was really but through japanese media and news it seemed at the times that the american patents were pissed so game companies started sensoring their games from all things might piss off christians/monotheistics ).
*also i dont live in japan but i am mixed so i grew in a jp speaking house and family from there always sent games on holidays and birthdays+nhk was always running in the backround to check on the motherland😂

Werewolf Aquato AU
So what are some of your personal HCs about this AU?
so like it started out with I liked the idea of this au still being connected to their water themeing -- its important to me to specifiy that the hand of galochio water curse is still not real, but conicidentally the werewolf thing is a problem and they conflate the two sometimes. i just like the themes of water and the moon and wolves going awoooooo
I think the youngest kids Mirtala & Queepie don't really show any werewolf-ish traits in the time between full moons but once you're getting to Raz's age you get like, sharper canines and more body hair. what if you give a little guy some baby wolf sideburns, that's what I mean
They'd have to plan their circus performances and traveling around the werewolf thing, so a day or two before the full moon they Always Just Happen to be passing through a fairly uninhabited part of this great big Damn country
They try not to hurt people if they can help it. They're just hunting little animals and howling and being like a tight knit family like how wolves tend to really be in the wild.
often unprompted, if he hears someone talking about it, Augustus will walk over from across the room and corner someone to explain to them how the alpha male wolf concept is a myth actually and it's actually their real social structures are fascinating and -- suddenly you are stuck here listening to this man info dump for an hour
also. i think it would be kinda funny if it either came from grandpa lazarus' side of the family or like evem donatella's family. like this has NOTHING to do w/the galochios.
as I type I think it being a dona thing is more amusing, I'm gonna stick with that.
bc imagine Donatella and Augustus both start dating and at the same time go My Love There Is A Terrible Secret I Must Tell You. Oh. You Go First. No, You.

📖REVIEW📖
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Firstly: Kadou, our MC has anxiety and the way I squealed at seeing some anxiety rep in a book, and a fantasy one at that! I used to be way more into fantasy but it often has so little rep, so this book was kind of like coming home?
It was so comforting, because I was reading Kadou's POV like...omg it's literally me 🥺 It was brilliantly done and obviously I loved my precious little bean Kadou who was more than capable of being a badass!
The other reason it’s comforting? Queerness is normalised and my heart felt so full as I was reading. Not only is the romance queer, but the use of different pronouns or gender fluidity isn't an issue either.
Kadou’s sister was really out here trying to matchmaker him with a nice young man, I was truly living while I was reading this! Like I was legit trying to read this slowly so I could spend longer in a world this accepting. THIS is why I described this as ‘top tier fan fiction’ btw!
While a lot is thrown at you in the beginning, the introduction and the set up for the other MC is immaculate! The romance may be the main focus with some mystery on the side, but a lot of care was taken with the world to paint a picture of it and to set future events up for a solid plot.
The concept of the Khayalar was intriguing and it makes the romance even more 👌🏻 AND makes some of the future moments between the MC's and conflict really work.
It’s enemies to lovers and Evemer has good reason to hate Kadou, no flimsy, weak excuses here! It takes time for him to get to know Kadou and see that he was wrong! The progression of their relationship was just immaculate like it’s slow-burn at its finest with the way it slowly builds up!
Evemer was badass and stoic but so soft for Kadou 🥹 he’s so patient and he helped him with his anxiety and figuring out the mystery, I loved them 😭
The use of tropes and dual POV in this is phenomenal as well by the way! And I genuinely think the romance in this book has ruined me, I can't believe the end was spicy but had me feeling all the feels at the same time.
Honestly, I really didn't want it to end. It was perfectly written, perfectly built up and you guys...the LONGING. The scenes with the hairbrushing and the caresses, I was literally squealing as I was reading!
Please, please can the author write like 50 more books in this world? I'm begging! Tadek needs a happy ending you know! Zeliha too!

So i have never heard of Werewolf by Midnight until you mention it (I remember Wilson's heart way back when) but god the trailers vibes are so off. It reaks of like modern marvels fear of being genuine for me personally. Also I can't believe they are so like desperate for content on disney plus is releasing the movie in color evem tho that not only ruins the idea of the type of flicks they are refering to but also appearly the story sense appearly its integral to the actual plot.
Truely amazing
THEY'RE WHAT?!
Homage to old movies my behind. Their homage is as thin as glass. It's so hard to see it as anything remotely close to classic horror due to all that modernism marvel always has to shoehorn in to make sure their audience doesn't get homesick. Also re-releasing it to HULU as well 100% confirms that they're planning nothing for Halloween. Like yeah, you can say "Haunted Mansion" but I think that released in the summer for some reason. The only reason I can think of to do that is not to lose as much in the box office because everyone else is going to Freddy's around that time.
(spoilers)
Tumblr media
Also also, the prosthetics look so barebones. They just plastered some fur and fangs on him, it's obvious they really struggled to make a vintage werewolf look conventionally attractive and intimidating.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
imo Wilson's Heart nailed a similar intention to look like an old movie werewolf while still making it scary/intimidating. I know it's not prosthetics, but still, a bunch of talented concept artists and illustrators put a lot of love into each design. You can still use puppets and stuff and still be true to the original art.
It's a better tribute than cgi Chuthulu or whatever that was
Uhm anyways, there's nothing more to this and I didn't pay enough attention to it because my brain was like "I wish I was watching Wilson's Heart or an actual old horror movie" the whole time. I don't like how it felt like it was on the edge of breaking character the whole time, and did end up breaking character in the end for some reason.

4, 10, 14!! heehee!
ouuuu thank you!!!!
4. How many different styles/medium (e.g., digital art, traditional art, comics, sculpture, paper craft, etc.) did you try this year?
on the diversity of media front, i feel like i stagnated a little! i used to have a lot more breadth, but this year like 98% of my work was done with procreate, and the other 2% were very occasional pencil/pen doodles that i then spruced up in procreate ahaha!! but honestly i'm not too arsed about this, like the sheer volume of art i made this year is so much higher than usual, entirely bc messing around w procreate and the specific hyperfixations i've had this year really inspired me to keep throwing myself at drawings again and again until i got it right—which has translated into a lot of skill growth, which i honestly could not be happier about!!!!!
10. What inspired/motivated you this year?
content-wise, the goblin emperor was my main artistic motivator (specifically my own goddamn au s;alkdfjaow;if), but i'm also really learning how to create my own original works as expressions of various emotional experiences i'm shufflin my way through lately.
also (and i've said this already recently but it bears saying again) literally i looked at @littleowlbub 's concept art for their new comic, prism, and i fell deeply and madly in love with how they draw hands—they're like... so expressive and lovely, but what really sets them apart for me is this sense that there's joy in the simple act of drawing them. their hands are, for me, the visual equivalent of taking that first full breath of fresh air at the start of a hike in the blue ridge mountains ;lakjdfaef like, god, i look at a few of the drawings of spectrum specifically and just feel love and peace in my own existence as a tactile being, idk!!!! this is all a lot of weight to put on the way someone draws hands, but it's WHERE I'M AT and honestly it has really inspired me to find my own ways of creating that feeling with the hands i draw, and i have a long road ahead still but the results are so visible to me, and i'm so so excited about that progress!!!
14. What's one pairing/character/subject/body part/object you want to explore next year?
pairing(s): hrmm honestly i've been eyeballing my internal visualization of evemer and kadou from @ariaste 's A Taste Of Iron and Gold, like i am itchin to draw them a whole whole bunch
characters: it's become a pathological need to figure out how to simplify eddie entertainment munson's dumb face down to a few brush strokes, like i've done so much noodling to try to figure out what it is exactly that makes his face his face—is it the full lips? the angle of his eyes? the sparse eyebrows? the laugh lines? nose, the particular contours of his 3/4 profile?? who the fuck knows!!! but i will figure it out or i will die trying!!!!!!!!
subject: really digging my vent pieces so i fully intend to keep honing that style and the sort of. idk creative muscles that go into funneling big emotions into little eyestrain-y guys
body part: see my tender screeching about hands above. also really working on understanding legs. why are they like that. whose idea was that.
object: man i need to draw more objects. engineered shapes in general suck SO BAD. i wanna get better at musical instruments especially, but one of my broadest goals is to get better at dramatic lighting (light is a huge part of my creative world, which is really apparent in my writing and poetry, but much less so in my art bc i Don't Know How To Do It Yet), and i'm annoyingly aware that the best way to work at that is to, in fact, do a lot of still lives, and probably like. paint more. pls pls, 2023 me, let yourself fuck up with gouache. you love gouache. it's so good for light.
artist wrapped ask meme!

A Taste of Gold and Iron by Alexandra Rowland
this got long so i put the opinion bit under the cut, spoilers are right at the bottom of the review
read: sep 2022
rating: 3.5 stars (edit: dropped down from a 4)
goodreads page here
summary:
kadou is crown prince of the mahisti empire, and in charge of far too many things in the wake of his sister, the sultan, giving birth to her first child.
when he drops himself into hot water during his attempts to investigate a break-in at the harbour, he is assigned a new guardsman, evemer, and must now deal with his judging gaze along with what is quickly becoming clear is a much larger conspiracy than any of them first thought.
content warnings:
kidnapping, death, anxiety (big, big warning for anxiety), a short scene which can be read as dissociation. (if there’s anything else let me know)
opinion:
tl:dr; i enjoyed it, i don’t think it’s a bad book, but there’s a few issues with it that hamper the enjoyment in retrospect for me. if you’re here for fanfiction-style royal (kink) romance, give it a go, i really think you’ll get something out of it. if you’re here for plot, go elsewhere.
(i use fanfiction-style with love, don’t @ me)
i’ve written and rewritten this review a few times over the past few days now, and i’m finding coming to a conclusion difficult.
on the whole, i enjoyed the time i spent with this book. it took a while to get going but once i got used to the world and the style (about a third of the way through) i devoured the rest. the characters were fun, the dynamics were engaging, the banter was enjoyable.
(the following paragraphs up until “there was plenty to like” are from my original review, pre- more negative rewrite)
it moves back and forth in tone very neatly, from very anxious moments with kadou (both alone and with company), to bright humour (mostly via tadek), to lovely romance.
the characters are fantastic, they all felt very distinct and bounced off each other well. tadek especially had a lot going on with where his relationship to kadou now stands, and his job in general (edit: we’ll come back to him).
but of course our main characters, kadou and evemer, are the most well-developed and they really carry the book (plus the kayhalar as a concept). they’re all imperfect people, very much so, and it’s fun to read them interact and change each other’s world views.
(more melek and tenzin in my life please yes and thank you)
which, speaking of power dynamics, they feel well handled to me in this book. there’s a lot of care shown for how people’s relationships with each other change depending on the situation (kadou and his kayhalar), or across time (kadou and evemer), or even within scenes (kadou and zeliha). (…we needed more evemer exclusive content i think). plus, the characters are conscious of this.
they don’t just dance around the very difficult topic of falling in love with/having sex with your immediate subordinate/superior, they directly talk about it with each other, often. they also talk about it again as people’s positions change around, which i appreciate.
(does it go into kink? maybe probably a little bit. does this fall off in the last third? sort of.)
oh and there’s another thing, communication in this is great, both in terms of the way the actual dialogue is written and how characters approach each other. any time they’re not communicating, it gets addressed by the characters, or at least the narrative. plus they can go to therapy if they want! promotes healthy relationships, and is just, pleasing to read.
(well, therapy, it’s called unburdening and ig is more like a cross between therapy and catholic confession, but to me it definitely leans a lot closer to the therapy side of things, from the brief bit we saw).
the plot felt a little (cough very) weak to me, in that very little would happen for a while, then we would get a lot all at once, and then very little would happen and so on. plus, it was incredibly obvious to me who the perpetrator of the conspiracy was, to the point that i was expecting some kind of twist for who was responsible that never came. plus it drops the plot on you right at the beginning, but it’s so buried in everything else that i didn’t realise until much, much later than i think i was supposed to.
it really does take a while to get going too, i had to reread the first chapter or so cos i got completely lost. it just throws names and stuff at you and expects you to immediately get it, which works in some cases but here it felt a little too much, y’know?
but there was plenty to like!
and as much as i stand by those positive feelings - they didn’t come out of nowhere - the more i’m thinking about this book as the days go by, the quicker those feelings are going away.
why? two main reasons: one, trans erasure, and two, tadek.
(and also kind of a third and fourth but the third is more minor and the fourth i don’t feel comfortable speaking on)
first off the trans erasure.
i’m gonna start this by saying i hope it wasn’t intentional. i hope the author wrote the things they wrote in complete ignorance and that seeing others bring this up they have learned and grown from their mistakes.
for the most part the queer rep in this book is good. there’s a distinct lack of homophobia in the general populace (seems to negatively affect royals, but as much as kadou was worried about it it seemed more about marrying someone he didn’t love? idk, it was inconsistent. anyway), and nonbinary existence is so normalised that it’s kind of heart-warming to see tbh.
however.
there’s a conversation that really sticks out at me, where kadou and tadek are talking about kadou’s probable need to marry for duty rather than love. kadou assumes it will be a woman, says he’d prefer the hypothetical brother, etc. then tadek asks, jokingly “if it’s the cock that’s the problem-” and then kadou gets annoyed at him for being improper or smth and it never comes up again.
that’s…hm. i don’t know what tadek would have said. maybe it would have been positive. but it didn’t feel positive, i felt icky reading it at the time and feel icky thinking about it now.
actually thinking about it now, a potential non-binary character isn’t even suggested here. hm.
plus for sultans, it’s mentioned a few times that it’s a person’s ability to give birth to children which is valued (and the person who impregnates is always a body-father which, hm) and though the author tries to work round this by saying that it’s okay for anyone of any gender to be sultan, it really falls flat for me. this obviously doesn’t just affect trans people, but with the tadek thing and the general lack of visible trans people in general (or for that matter any sort of wlw content) it doesn’t add up well.
second, tadek.
tadek starts off as a character with a lot of depth and (i think) the only side character with any kind of side plot. he and kadou were a fwb kind of thing, but kadou was his direct superior, then they’re no longer a thing now cos it’s not possible, tadek has been essentially demoted, it’s a whole thing.
i loved this! it felt very interesting to me and improved both tadek and kadou’s character. it basically informs a good chunk of kadou’s decisions in the first third or so, and the entirety of tadek’s character for most of the time he’s on the page.
but then there’s some conversations, an off-screen thing, and all of that just, goes away?
now, i get that tadek puts on a face around people. i do, and i’m happy we get to see that and how it affects both him and the people he’s around.
but as the romance picks up and the plot meanders along in the background, tadek gets completely sidelined? and his development really suffers for it. he becomes very two-dimensional and only regains any sort of depth when it’s for kadou or evemer’s benefit. i still like his character, but it could have been handled a lot better.
the other two things are that this is probably a converted mo dao zu shi fic which, fine, sure, not my fandom, other people can weigh in on this; and that this is set in an ottoman empire inspired world, and i’ve seen native turkish people uncomfortable and upset with the way it’s presented. i’m not turkish, i know nothing about the ottoman empire, i won’t add an opinion here.
anyway this is getting way too long.
i don’t think this is a bad book. there’s clearly a lot of love in here and there’s some really excellent scenes.
but there’s also some unavoidable issues with the book that i don’t want to ignore.
in conclusion, i don’t think this is a book worth going out of your way for, but if you’ve spent any amount of time on the m/m tag on ao3, you’ll absolutely get something out of this.
SPOILERS BELOW
spoilery bits
they got married? they got fucking married????? honestly this was a bit unbelievable for me, if just cos nobody was there to officiate or anything? so they just needed to say the words and believe them and it would have been fine? who knows, i’m weirdly okay with it.
presumably the sequel is going to be sitcom level shenanigans, cos nobody knows they’re married (well except tadek) so that can only go poorly (complimentary).
