Serotonin Shutdown (Nomu!Deku x Bakugou)
Summary: The last thing that Izuku Midoriya  heard was his childhood friend’s voice, telling him to jump off the rough of the building. Walking home that evening, he was attacked by a sludge villain and wasn’t saved by All Might. His body goes missing a day later and Bakugou starts to feel real guilt for what he’s done. Then one day, a Nomu comes up from no where and shows up, “Kacchan” on the tip of it’s tongue.
“If you think you’ll have a quirk in your next life, go take a swan dive off the roof!”
That was the last thing that Deku heard from Bakugou’s lips. He twitched with frustration on the edge of anger, holding in the urge to turn around and stand up for himself. Izuku couldn’t do it. Not against Kacchan. He wouldn’t be able to make the situation any better if he turned around and made a move against him. The only thing that would change would be the number of burns he’d have going home.
Izuku let his little moment of possible rebelion fly past him as he hung his head down. All he could think about was how dirty his shoes were going to get treading in the mud on the way home. This had happened one too many times before, and still the overwhelming feeling of shame came. He stood there for a moment longer, just letting the tears of frustration wash over his cheeks.
He tensed up, clenching his fists as his breathing got heavier. Suddenly for just a moment, his heart sped up and his ribs seemed to enclose around his lungs a little tighter than before. Izuku placed his hands over his chest as he slowly got down on his knees. His eyes were squeezed shut but the tears still came. He placed his forehead on the floor, letting his anxiety momentarily cripple him.
Izuku opened his mouth, and instead of the scream he was expecting, out only came a whimper. His heart ached and squeezed with pain. If it were anyone else, Midorya wouldn’t be acting this way. If it weren’t his former best friend spitting venom into his ears, he wouldn’t be shaking at this moment. He wondered momentarily where it all went wrong, where they stopped being friends. Izuku couldn’t pinpoint exactly when. It seemed like a gradual change, but that didn’t explain why he felt surprised each and every time something like this happened.
It just never got better. As simple as that.
So he shouldn’t dwell on it too long, should he? He let out another low painful groan before pulling himself together. Izuku stood up slowly, momentarily noticing the pain in his knees and forehead but brushed it off a moment later. Midorya grabbed his backpack and trudged down the stairs, keeping his eyes focused only on the stare directly in front of him.
Once he was outside the school building he walked around it until he saw his notebook still somehow floating on top of the school pond. The koi fish were nibbling at the burnt paper, and Izuku had to gently pull the book out of the pond in order not to harm it any further. All that hero analysis down the drain and for nothing… Maybe he could air the pages out once he got home in order to salvage what was left of his notes.
When he was finally off of school property, the sky had turned a light orangish yellow and most clouds had dispersed and disappeared. If Izuku had bothered to look up at all, he might have thought how pretty the sun was when it was setting. But no, he was too busy flipping through the pages of his water soaked book, drying it out page by page.
“My book isn’t fish food.” He muttered softly under his breath, fingering the edges of the paper that had been more than nibbled on.
For the second time that day tears of frustration priced the corners of his eyes. Izuku grit his teeth in anger, not fighting the tears back this time and letting the hot water run down his face. This was stupid. It sounded immature, but it was true. This was stupid. How could he be so idiotic as to think that he could save this book? This stupid, cursed, ugly book.
In frustration, for a second, he gave up and threw his notebook to the ground, watching as the book unsatisfyingly hit the ground and tumbled twice. Almost immediately he regretted his actions, going wide eyed before running to the tattered book and snatching it up off the sewer cover it had landed on.
“Ah! Oh no, I’m sorry, I’m so so sorry!” He apologized to the book, clutching it close to his chest. “It wasn’t your fault, and I know that, you didn’t deserve that…” Izuku said out loud, burying his face in the damp cover.
There was no logical reason to apologize to something that couldn’t feel, but somehow the apology made him feel better. He stopped hugging the book and let out a soft sigh, putting it in his backpack before wiping his tears briefly. He made a mental note not to overreact so much. Taking a deep breath he calmed down little by little, and his ribs didn't feel as tight in his body.
It didn’t last long.
Before he was allowed to step something had grabbed ahold of his legs. Something coming up from the sewer. Suddenly a glob of sludge sprang up through the hold in the manhole cover, quickly climbing onto his body.
“A medium sized body… to hide in…”
Within half a second it wasn’t just his legs that couldn’t move, it was his whole body. His mouth and nose had been covered by the thick substance, making sure he couldn’t take a breath. Izuku tried to move, panicking and flailing, trying to get a break.
“Don’t worry. I’m just hijacking your body. Calm down. It’ll only hurt for about 45 seconds… then it’ll all be over.” The guppy voice said, sounding as if it was drowning in itself.
13 seconds.
It sunk in. A villain. A villain was attacking him! He clawed at his mouth and nose, trying to pull the substance from his body, but the thing this villain was made of was some sort of fluid he couldn’t effectively dig his nails into.
“No point in trying that. I’m fluid you see!!” It gurgled out once more.
27 seconds.
Izuku’s thoughts raced and he continued to claw away at the fluid anyways. For the third time that day, his eyes watered. ‘I can’t breathe! My body… getting weak…’ at this point he was choking. The oobleck-like fluid was now forcing itself into his throat. ‘I’m dying! I’m gonna die?! Someone help! I’m dying!’
38 seconds.
There had to be a hero somewhere, someone who could hear the repulsive squishing sounds, someone who could read his thoughts, someone who just stumbled across his path, he’d even settle for a dog to come and attempt to dig him out! He was going to die, and he was going to die alone. When he was told he was going to die alone, he had always imagined being old and in bed with no one showing up for his last minutes on Earth. But here he was. Alone, choking on a villain.
‘No…’
45 seconds.
The sludge villain was right. After those measly 45 seconds of suffocation, it didn’t hurt anymore. As it turns out, Izuku was right too. His shoes did get muddy on the walk home.
✥﹤┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈﹥✥
By the time Katsuki Bakugou woke up that morning, Izuku’s story had been covered again and again. He had missed it all, thanks to his early bed schedule. A good hero had to get enough sleep but the best goddamn hero in the entire world has a schedule that they stick to. And that’s what he was. The best hero anyone was ever going to see.
His first thought he had as he pushed himself out of bed was how he’d be so thankful to be out of this nowhere town once he was accepted to UA. And he was going to be accepted to UA. There was no doubt about it. He had been training to go to the same school All Might did when he was Katsuki’s age. All famous heroes went there.
All the most powerful heroes went there.
So Katsuki wasn’t going to rot his life away in some fourth rate public school forever. He was even working on getting a scholarship, but nothing was accepted until he passed the non written portion of the exam. Katsuki wasn’t so narcissistic to think he was perfect at everything. He had acknowledged that his fighting style, although brutal, needed a bit more finesse.
He’d work on that over the course of the summer. After all, he still had about ten months until the physical exam was held. By then he could improve and maybe even perfect his Howitzer Impact! Katsuki didn’t show excitement for most things but this was one of those rare moments where he only felt joy. No one else knew the skin flushing satisfaction of melting something in your palms, so of course no one else could understand why he enjoyed it so much. And the thought of his most powerful move perfected? It even gave him shivers.
He gave a small sigh as he pushed the blankets off of him. Today was Saturday so no school. All the same though, he had woken up at the same time he did everyday; six in the morning. Katsuki had seemingly got off on the right side of the bed, seeing as for once in a while he woke up without his muscles being tense.
Katsuki got up and stretched, doing his daily routine. There was a reason why he always got up before the sun did. It’s hard to believe but about a good eighty percent of the time he got up before either one of his parents did.
However, today was different. All the lights of the house were turned on, but Katsuki couldn’t see anyone else of the Bakugou family in the immediate areas. That was… odd. Even during the few times his mom woke up before him, she was always doing things around the house. Usually preparing for work or cooking and cleaning so her husband wouldn’t have as much of a mess on his hands.
“You old hag, where are you!” He said loudly to no one in particular. When no version of ‘right here you brat’ was called from anywhere in the house, Bakugou raised a brow. Had she left for work already?
“Mom?” Katsuki called out once more, with yet again, no response.
Deciding that his mom wouldn’t leave the lights on if she had left for work, Bakugou went on a search around the house, trying to find traces of his parents. It was weird, having the lights on but no noise. A rock settled in Katsuki’s stomach, making it hard to ignore the uneasy feeling he was getting. And if there was any philosophy he lived by, it was either winning is more important than anything, and to always always trust your gut.
Having checked almost every other place in the house, he finally knocked on his parent’s bedroom door. He prayed that he wasn’t interrupting anything. Soon, Mitsuki Bakugou opened the door just a crack, just so her eye could be seen.
“Katsuki. Go back to bed.” She softly muttered before attempting to close the door.
Katsuki shoved his foot between the door, prying the door open with his hands. What the hell was wrong with his mom! And no way was he being left out of the loop!
“Like hell! You old hag! Don’t you know you’re supposed to-” The teenager forced the door open abruptly, forcing Mitsuki to take a step backwards.
But it wasn’t that that stopped him mid sentence. It was the sight of a tear stained cheek, red eyed Inko Midoriya sitting on a chair that stopped him in his tracks. Deku’s mom? He knew that even when he and Izuku stopped going to each other’s houses that their mom’s continued to be friends but this was a whole nother level.
“Auntie Inko...?” He couldn't help but spit out, as any other words escaped his grasp. Katsuki never unlearned calling her that pleasant nickname.
His dad was rubbing the single woman’s back as she turned away from who she believed her son’s friend was. Inko let out a dry and cracked sob, doubling over with her hands covering her mouth as she coiled around herself best that she could. She audibly choked on her tears, letting out a soft wail with her clearly sore throat.
“I… Izuku…” She sobbed again, unable to spit out another word but her son’s name.
Katsuki looked from Inko to his parents, realizing the shared expression they held. Suddenly the anger in his chest of being left out was doused. Mitsuki grabbed the shoulders of her own son, pulling him into a rare hug, and for once Katsuki didn’t push her away. Still, he couldn’t keep his eyes off of the Inko who still had yet to acknowledge his presence.
Mitsuki pulled away, her own voice breaking when she said, “Go back to bed Katsuki.”
He didn’t move, only half present in his own body. Katsuki couldn’t look away from his ‘auntie’, only feeling the dred in her contaminate him. After a solid second of feeling a bone in his throat did he dare to move. Gently this time, he pushed Mitsuki off of him and she backed away without any resistance.
“What happened to Deku?”
His red eyes refused to leave Inko, still dead focused on her as she sobbed dryly. Slowly the possibilities started to sink in as the reasons for why Inko could possibly be in their home started to whittle down. Katsuki walked towards her, leaning down and getting on his knees so he could just catch a glimpse of her face. With a gentleness that he didn’t know he had, he put his hand on Inko's shoulder.
She managed to jump from the small touch, turning to meet his eyes. Inko placed her hands over her mouth before wiping her tears away. Her eyes looked painful, like she had been crying for too long and too hard that her body couldn’t quite keep up with her. Inko took her time finding a stable breath, swallowing air quite a few times before her tongue found her words.
“I… Izuku is- is-” She choked on her words. “Izuku is g-g…”
Before Inko could finish, Mitsuki finished for her. “Your friend Izuku... he’s gone, Katsuki…”
Inko curled up again, hiding her face once more as her wails that once had died down were alive again. Katsuki stumbled backwards at the revelation. His brows furrowed and eyes narrowed even at the idea. There was absolutely no way that Deku of all people was gone from his life forever. He wasn’t allowed to do that. He wasn’t allowed!
He got up on his feet, muscles tensed up as he clenched his fists tightly. Katsuki grit his teeth and took a step away from Inko, accidentally falling back onto Mitsuki. He couldn’t place just why he did so, but he aggressively pushed her to the side, leaving an almost shocked expression on her face if she weren’t used to this behavior. She didn’t bother to correct his actions this time.
“Out of my way you old hag! Damn you!” He spat out, storming out of the room, slamming the door behind him with such force he swore he felt the wall shake.
Deku wasn’t gone! There was no way that something actually happened to him! The damned nerd was prepared for just about anything, nothing could have sneaked up on him that he wasn’t prepared for! It was one of the things he hated most about Deku! Katsuki ran outside barefoot, not wasting a second as he launched himself into the air with his quirk.
Katsuki was going to find Deku at his home like always, either scribbling away about heroes in some notebook or cowering under his bed afraid of the outside world being the useless Deku he was! Bakugou had no mercy for the houses he flew over using his quirk, nor the criminal record he might get for using his quirk in a public area. He was going to find that bastard!
The sun had just started to peak over the horizon, the sky had turned a light orangish yellow and most clouds had dispersed and disappeared. If Izuku was around to see it, he might have thought how pretty the sun was when it was rising.
Less than a minute later he had touched down on the Midorya’s front porch. He hadn’t been here in years, seeing as he and Izuku had grown apart, but he still knew exactly where he lived by heart. He practically lived there as a child. How things had changed between the two of them. He wondered, did they still have a key under the mat?
Controlling his urge to simply kick down the door and storm inside, demanding the nerd to come out of his room or wherever he could be. Bakugou shoved the mat to the side, sighing slightly with relief as he saw the familiar key. Quickly, he picked it up and opened the door, practically breaking the key in the process.
“Deku! Where the hell are you, you damned nerd!?” He shouted into the empty house without being two steps in the door. “You’re scaring the shit out of your mom! You really want that, Deku!?”
If Deku was here there was no way he’d bluntly let those comments go, even if he doesn’t confront him head on, he’d definitely try to find his mom. ‘The damned nerd was always a mama’s boy’, he glared at the empty front room. Was he not loud enough? Or was he just hiding?
“Damnit Deku!! This is no time to mess around!” He shouted again, slamming the front door closed.
Bakugou grit his teeth and held back an angry snarl as crackles and pops came from the palms of his hands in a way that mirrored his threatening stance the day before. “Deku! Show yourself, you coward!” He spat out angrily.
He waited for a moment but when no Deku came running at his threats, Katsuki that was silent permission to go and look for him. Every sense they were children, Izuku needed Bakugou to lead him somewhere, hold his hand through it all until the age of five. So it only makes sense that he would be too childish to deal with things himself.
Katsuki resisted the urge to grind his teeth together while he stomped up the stairs, checking Deku’s room. He opened the door to Deku’s room and pushed his way inside, taking a look around. Bakugou hadn’t been in this room for at least a decade, but it still looked about the same as how he remembered it.
All Might posters strung up on the walls, a clean floor with a messy desk littered with school supplies and hero merch. Izuku had somehow managed to collect more merchandise than before. Somehow. Briefly stuck by the nostalgia of sleepovers and playing house, his anger had been soothed. He even caught himself admiring the collection.
It seemed that was the little push he needed to let it sink in, that Deku was truly gone, as Inko said. Katsuki couldn’t seem to put that into words though. He couldn’t  alliterate what it was like to know someone, who had always been there, no longer was. Deku’s presence to him, although annoying, was familiar. It was always there. No matter how hard he pushed him away. No matter how many insults he spat, no matter how many explosions he made, Deku always managed to be a fly on the wall to his life. And it was annoying.
Now he got to be the martyr when he was just supposed to be a pebble in his path?
His empty feeling twisted back into the only coping mechanism Bakugou knew; anger. How dare Deku imprint himself on his life forever! How dare he be Katsuki’s dead childhood friend! How dare he be the thing everyone was going to bring up in interviews when he became the best! How dare he be the moment of silence in his life when he wasn’t allowed to be!
Bakugou bit his tongue, swallowing the nasty lump in his throat as he made his way to the window in Deku’s room. Curtains closed, he wondered if he was allowed to open them. Izuku was the last person to touch those curtains. ‘Whatever.’ He thought to himself as he opened the curtains, to see whether or not Deku had taken a swan dive.
✥﹤┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈﹥✥
The next day after it finally sunk in that his childhood friend was really gone for good, Bakugou would be lying if he said that his eyes remained dry the whole time. It was the weirdest, worst feeling that he had ever gone through in his entire life. Izuku was gone for good. Never again would he get a polite but scared greeting from him. Never would he cover his ears to tune out the insistent scratching of pencil against paper. Never again would he hear that stupid stupid nickname on Deku’s tounge.
But he wasn’t going to let that get in the way. Before the villain attack, Bakugou absolutely despised every moment that Deku was even in his sight, god forbid they rub shoulders passing each other in the halls. And now for some reason, now that there was no more Deku to see or to pass by he found himself almost craving those moments. Tiny, little things that they just… did because they had known each other for so long.
For the love of god, he was getting phantom touches walking past Deku’s desk. When he was dealing with something he shouldn’t have to be at such an age, Bakugou’s friends weren’t having that same problem. As he trudged to his seat, too stubborn to take a day off for his grief, one of them spoke up.
“Katsuki!” He called out. “Did you hear about the villain attack on Friday? Apparently Midorya was the-” Quickly he was nudged in the ribs by a classmate.
Katsuki curled his fists at the mere mention of his name. “Yeah, I heard he kicked the bucket too.” He spat through his teeth.
“No, no not that!” The classmate said, clearly not understanding why he was elbowed in the ribs. “Apparently when the police took his body for examination about what the criminal did to him,”
Bakugou bit down hard on his tongue, not wanting to hear what a villain charged for robbery and the murder of a fourteen year old boy did to him. “I don’t wanna hear about what happened to him, you stupid extra!” He growled angrily, baring his teeth like a dog about to fight.
“N-No, you misunderstand me! They took him in for an autopsy and like, two hours later the station was attacked by the League of Villains and the morgue was cleaned out!” He finally was able to finish. “Izuku’s body was taken!”
Two weeks later, a funeral was held without a body. No coffin was purchased and no big ceremony was held. Just family and all the friends Izuku had, which was just Katsuki. He didn’t have the heart to tell them the truth. That they were certainly not friends. That he had just weeks ago told him to kill himself. Not that he had really meant it. But Deku didn’t know it.
When a tree was planted instead of Deku’s body, Katsuki couldn’t help but curse the sunny day time that plagued his guilt. The sun was bright and the weather was near perfect. That was unfair. The weather wasn’t supposed to be ‘nice’ at a funeral. It was supposed to rain. It was supposed to be thunder. Hell, lightning was supposed to strike Bakugou where he stood, in his black suit and properly tied tie.
But no, there was no rain for Inko to hide her tears in. If the weather was going to be right for anyone, Katsuki could understand why it wouldn’t change for him. But Inko? His unofficial auntie? Dare he say his second mother? Now that was just wrong. If there was a god, shouldn’t they realize you’re supposed to weep when a mother weeps for her son? When a parent puts a child in the ground, or worse when they can’t put anything in the ground at all?
Mitsuki and Masaru were there too, not because they knew Izuku all that well but because it was their family friend’s son who just happened to be their son’s childhood best friend. In total, a good four people showed up to his funeral. Three of them were from the Bakugou family.
Two weeks after the funeral and a full month after the villain attack, there was a noticeable rise in Katsuki’s aggressiveness. Before he could have been considered an introvert, preferring the company of himself and only acting the way he did when others found their way into his personal space. But now he was lashing out unprovoked, kicking desks and doors at every opportunity, and had barely caught himself from assaulting other students and getting something on his criminal record.
Even a month after Deku’s death, Bakugou yearned and begged to whatever god that the day would come when the first thing he thought about in the morning wasn’t that damned nerd’s face. Katsuki hated Izuku when he was alive, hated every little aspect about him from his notetaking to the number of freckles on his cheeks. Every little thing was so annoying about him and yet those were the things he was yearning for once it was all gone. He could count in his head each and every freckle on Deku’s cheek.
It was a day that had been like any other day for the last four weeks. Sunny skies and not a single moment that Katsuki could use to enjoy them. Training had progressively slowed down in both a mental and physical way. Time had just blurred for him. At first he blamed the unexpected grief he had over Deku’s death, but as days turned into weeks the heaviness in his chest had continued to weigh him down.
It wasn’t until exactly thirty one days later when Katsuki came home, went to his room and opened his window did that weight change. But instead of the rock in his stomach lifting, his heart began to thump wildly against his ribcage.
✥﹤┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈﹥✥

An ugly beast stood there, hunched over as if it should be on all fours. It’s brain was exposed from the top but some green fur-like hair stuck out below the open organ. It wasn’t the size a person should be, and would definitely tower over the average adult, even hunched the way it was. It’s pale skin looked like it had been pulled too tightly over the hulking mass of body except for the few green tufts of fur visible only on the thing’s chest.
Bakugou stumped backwards at the sight, closing the curtains immediately for fear that the thing would reer it’s dismantled face back and peek into his room. His thoughts started to race along with his heart. Could it be a person with a quirk? Some sort of power that transformed them into a monster? No, there were mechanical ears sticking out of the brain. With the way it’s legs bent unnaturally, it almost mirrored the stance of a rabbit.
So could it be an animal with a quirk? It was rare but it happened. It was said that the principal of UA was an animal whose quirk gave him superhuman intelligence! Not to mention quite a few officers in the police department had animal quirks that gave them better hearing and smelling, so the line of human and animal had been blurred. But that didn’t explain why the fuck it was in his backyard!
Katsuki felt the bile go up his throat at the thought of that monster being a villain of all things. He swallowed harshly, digging his nails into his palms. If that thing was a villain, possibly endangering the neighborhood and was creepily stalking his house, then it was his duty as a future hero to put that villain down! Even the best heroes showed signs of greatness at early ages. This was his sign of greatness!
Quickly Katsuki pulled out his phone and called the police, reporting an immediate threat to himself and his family. Not only so he was making a record of this so legal charges against him were less likely to take place but also so he wouldn’t have to drag that beast to the police department himself. Once the report was made he hung up and took a deep breath. If he couldn’t defend his home from one villain then he’d never be able to beat All Might and become the number one hero!
Pushing down any fear that had settled in the pit of his stomach, turned around and grabbed the curtains, opening them up once again to see if the thing had moved. It had, it got closer.
Standing up and no longer leaning forwards, it’s green eyes were just barely able to peer into the window. Katsuki froze, having greatly underestimated exactly how tall that thing was. He took a step back, still slightly in shock to see something with it’s brain exposed moving around. Seeing movement, the creature’s ear twitched. Suddenly it rose up further, placing two of it’s large front paw-like hands on the window.
It’s face was just as horrible as its body, it’s nose basically gone as just the shape of the skull was shown. Fangs protruded from the face, coming out of its mouth and curing around it’s jaw. It took a breath, leaving the shape of a heart in fog on the window.
“Fuck.”
Katsuki turned on his heels, running down the stairs, trying to get away from the creature. That was not just an animal. No animal would have the instinct to do such a thing in plane sight. He jumped two steps at a time until both feet were planted at the bottom. That thing could tear his house to the ground if it wanted to! And no hero was going to back down after something like this!
He sprinted towards the back door, swinging the door open to fully see the thing up close. Okay, so it was a human with a quirk, seeing as it was wearing pants. They were torn off at the knees though, as its legs bent one more time than a normal person’s should. It was now that he realized the knees of it were padded with metal. And it didn’t look like it was a strap either, just metal attached to it’s spindly legs.
Bakugou narrowed his eyes, sliding under its legs before it was able to realize where exactly he was. He ignited his palms with his quirk, causing an explosion to occur. He hadn’t been sweating a lot recently so it was a measly blast but that would change once he got going. It was at least a big enough explosion to singe and scar the monster’s back, leaving the disturbing smell of burnt hair wafted up. It made him choke.
The thing turned around, pushing itself off of the wall to twist and face him. It had apparently been standing as high as it could go, which was essentially being on it’s tippy toes. As soon as it hunched down again, meeting face to face for the first time, Bakugou went to action, setting off another explosion with hit palms, this time launching himself into the air.
He blasted the beast as he was flying over it, the discharge scalding the thing’s skin with an undeniable heat. Bakugou even became sickened by the boiling flesh. He hadn’t ever attacked something alive, so he wasn’t prepared for the harm his quirk could do to someone else. His red eyes became watery at both the heat and the smell. It was wretched.
Katsuki landed behind the beast, taking a silent satisfaction as the intruder yelped. He was defending himself, and something about that made him smile to himself. It’s cry came from its throat but still somehow managed to be a higher pitch. ‘It’s slow,’ he thought to himself. ‘That makes it an easy target!’
Planting his heels in the ground, he detonated again, this time the eruption from his hands made the creature stumble and almost fall forward. This was a bigger explosion too, having been warmed up by the previous explosions. He was getting more bang for his buck.
“K-Kah-!”
It hissed out painfully, pressing itself to the ground and letting out a soft whimper. Besides pressing itself to the cool ground, it didn’t move, only twitching it’s ears at the sounds around it. Bakugou walked around the hulking mass, watching as the burns he had created started to steam. What exactly was this thing doing here? Had he won?
The prospect of winning made his face light up for the first time in too long. He couldn’t wait to see what everyone thought of him then. Surely, for such a beast there would at least be one public interview, and then UA would have to take him in after that! Not to mention his hero career would sky rocket!
Katsuki leaned down to see it’s face, wondering if it was a recognizable person, at least from the forehead down. He’d be damned if he took down some experimented, abused rabbit instead of some villain or intruder. One of those things makes the news and the other gets swept under the rug. The thing was breathing heavily as water poured from it’s glittering green eyes. It wailed softly at the sight of Bakugou, trying to hide its face in its large hands.
“K… Kacchan…”

Kaminari, speaking with Bakugou: So, what is your relationship with Midoriya? do you liiiike him?~
Bakugou: ARE YOU STUPID OR SOMETHING? DUMBASS PIKACHU?!! STUPID DEKU IS JUST A STEPPING STONE ON THE WAY TO MY VICTORY!
Kaminari: It seems you tripped, fell on your face, and ended up making out with that pebble instead, sir.

So the one thing that I loved in this chapter is that Bakugo immediately jumped back to “Deku we’re gonna fight, you’re a nice warm up for the REAL fight!” As much as I’m not all that happy that Deku is apparently mostly back to his old self (boy really did just need a damn nap), I’m so happy to see the old BKDK dynamic again~

BAKUDEKU ABO FIC REC
Here is another list for quarantine. Been binge reading these two and had to make a list specifically for this trope, so hope you enjoy. All fics will be complete unless the ∆ symbol is next to it.
my previous bkdk fic rec: [[X]]
1. Gravity by warschach
Izuku is back in his hometown and plenty hasn't changed much from the 8 years he was gone. Except, Katsuki Bakugou, the alpha king of their small town. He's hotter- because that's fair, right, God? -, stronger, a now-famous pro fighter, and noticeably nicer this round.
Not that he cares, pfft.
Ha, Izuku Midoriya caring about Katsuki Bakugou, thinking he's pretty cute and not half bad once you get past the asshole persona; though that gargantuan ego of his could take a dive off a very tall cliff.
(Fine, he cares.)
2. Waiting For You by Darkanny
In a moment of impulsiveness, Izuku declares he will allow any Alpha to claim him who can best him in battle, on his own terms.
The problem is that there is already someone fighting for that prize, and for a long time has been.
3. Total Knock Out by KyuukaKoinu
It was love at first punch.
In which Katsuki is a cocky alpha who needs to be taken down a peg, and Izuku is just the man willing to give him a bloody nose.
4. Stay by Amanzala
Izuku is pregnant, Bakugou does not want the baby. It causes a strain in their marriage. They drift apart until their home breaks.
Bakugou feels regret and tries to patch things up but it just might be too late.
5. As Fate Would Have It by ScientificallySinful
Katsuki Bakugo had plenty of reasons why he wasn't mated yet, not that he was going to explain why to just anyone. But now, Ground Zero was running out of time. If he didn't find someone soon, he'd lose his position as a Pro-Hero and he'd never get to be #1. So, when he finds out there's a male Omega recently arrested for prostitution that's headed to prison if he too doesn't get a mate…well it must be fate.
Izuku Midoriya doesn't know if he should laugh or cry when his childhood bully shows up in front of his jail cell asking him to be his mate. He also didn't know if it was good or bad that Kacchan didn't seem to recognize him, but fate hasn't been kind to him before so why should it start now?
6. ∆ Bleeding Emerald by The_Fanfiction_Alchemist
Katsuki isn’t an idiot. He knows that Izuku and him aren’t exclusive. He’s the one who had made that perfectly fucking clear when Izuku had dropped down to his knees and blew him for the first time all those months ago.
Summary: Katsuki struggles with his growing attachment towards Izuku and his jealousy towards others who get to spend the same sort of "time" with him.
7. Don't Bite by bkdkink
Katsuki always spent his ruts alone in his family cabin out by the mountains deep within the woods.
Then he found a body covered in blood and snow, and it's far more alive than he first realized.
8. Change of Plans by Mikacrispy
Life doesn't care about how you want things to go.
Alpha Pro Hero Bakugou Katsuki never planned to get married to some random omega but what he wants isn't an option anymore.
One for All wielder Midoriya Izuku has suffered injustice too many times and doesn't plan in allowing his secondary gender to dictate how he must live his life.
Falling in love was never in the plans.
9. ∆ (Un)Marked by angel_baby
Being marked was considered as an honor in the world of lycanthropy. It was known as an intimate connection between two individuals (either it be Alphas, Betas, or Omegas) whose souls were immediately bonded for a lifetime.
It was once Izuku Midoriya's dream to be marked with an Alpha who'd love him unconditionally and was powerful enough to protect him from all dangers. Unfortunately, bad luck was on his side soon crushing all hopes and dreams of being marked.
After unintentionally trespassing into another pack's territory, the Omega encounters the bad-mouthed, cruel Pack Alpha who just so happens to be a familiar face from the past.
The chances of this particular Alpha mending the Omega's heart is literally zero.
However, fate has a funny way of sorting things out.
10. ∆ Live Wire by sleepystorm
Katsuki loosened his grip on his wrist, releasing the tattered bracer to let it clatter pathetically to the ground. The only thing protecting Izuku’s gland was the bandaging, but it wasn’t enough, and immediately, an acrid scent not unlike smoke began to fill the space between them. Izuku flinched away despite it coming from his own wrist, but as if it were encouraged by his horror, there it was. Right under the sick odor was a tangier, but certainly more clear scent.
Any alpha knew it instinctively, and Izuku could tell the very second it hit Katsuki’s nose. His malicious grin fell away, dimming in brightness as his brows twitched together in confusion.
Distressed omega always had such an effect on them.
Alternatively, the Midoriya and Bakugou kingdoms have been at war long enough for people to stop asking why there was a conflict in the first place. Izuku and Shouto, one of the Midoriya kingdom's best bonded pairs, go to extract information from the Bakugou campaign trail. Following a failed escape, the two are captured, and Izuku is declared the prince's rightful mate.

fanfics for quarantine with α!katsuki x Ω!izuku.
Hiya, my fellows shippers. I know quarantine is being hard to everyone for different reasons but i hope you can stay safe at home. If you have to be outside for work or to work with/for people, thank you so much for your hard work and it is deeply appreciated.
In this occasion it’s my pleasure to bring you all a fanfic recommendation list of Alpha/Omega KatsuDeku that i loved on AO3. So buckle up, gather everything you need for this wild ride because this gonna be a long post and this just the first part, sisters. Friendly reminder that every person writes their own rules for their omegaverse. It goes without saying that most of this post is+18 rated filth (and i did let out some nasty things that would make most of you don’t hold a face to face conversation with me without kinkshaming me) but even with that the sexual content is gonna have a bolded +18 beside the tittle; and as the old saying goes: read the damn tags on the fic, they are there for a reason.
The links, rating, state and summary under the cut. Please, feel free to reblog and like or to come to my dms just to talk or ask for a type of fic in specific. I’ll post part 2 of this soon.
drag me to the deeps of your heart (+18)  by halcyonwhispers [one shot, 5945 words // 1/2 from “The (im)proper way to an Alpha-Omega courtship” series ]
Everyone presents on their 17th birthday, and while Katsuki has already (alpha, big fuckin’ shocker), he awaits his boyfriend’s presentation to finally get over the nonexistent (slight) curiosity over Izuku’s new rank. He can’t be an alpha, not crybaby, overthinking Deku. Anyways, both his parents are betas, and all that genetic and biology shit says Deku’s bound for that road. (he thinks)
Gravity (+18) by warschach [complete, 71477 words, 10 chapters]
Izuku is back in his hometown and plenty hasn't changed much from the 8 years he was gone. Except, Katsuki Bakugou, the alpha king of their small town. He's hotter- because that's fair, right, God? -, stronger, a now-famous pro fighter, and noticeably nicer this round. Not that he cares, pfft.
Ha, Izuku Midoriya caring about Katsuki Bakugou, thinking he's pretty cute and not half bad once you get past the asshole persona; though that gargantuan ego of his could take a dive off a very tall cliff. (Fine, he cares.)
what’s mine is mine (+18) by xenodickery [one shot, 5504 words // 1/3 from the “what’s mine is mine” series. Implied r*pe not related to the pair]
Bakugou watched, fists shaking in his lap, as someone pried open Midoriya's mouth and placed the pink tab on his tongue. An aphrodisiac. At least that's what they'd called it. A heat compellant.
Marshmallow by choimarie  [one shot, 3359 words // part of the 2k18 bakudeku week]
“Yo! Look at what we have here!” A voice said loudly and Izuku's heart stopped.
He turned around, his eyes widening. A group of six alphas was walking his way towards him.
What’s is this? The beginning of a porn0? (+18) by JijiHadidnt [2 chapters, 4625 words]
“Did somebody order a pizza?”
“What is this? The beginning of a porno?”
“Shut up Nerd just let me in.”
Izuku and Bakugou handle their argument over celebrity crushes in an interesting way.
A nest for the best by Camellia_Sinensis [one shot, 1007 words // Part of the “dorks in love” series]
Deku’s been nesting and asking everyone in 1-A for pieces of clothing for his horde. Everyone, that is, except Katsuki. Cue the jealousy.
where i feel you the most (+18) by shousanki [one shot,3899 words]
In which Katsuki comes 1) to terms with Izuku's screwy biology almost as unpredictable as the person himself, and 2) down Izuku's warm and willing throat.
the last dragon-blood king (+18) by claimedbydaryl [complete, 13 chapters, 107.009 words]
Katsuki Bakugou was the alpha heir to a forgotten throne, reigning lord and warden of the Fyre Isles, a famed warrior of vicious repute in the Western Seas, and he would be wed to Izuku Midoriya by the day’s end.
Project: heat (+18) by ellslane  [one shot, 2914 words]
Katsuki can do this. He can control himself around Deku, who’s scent has spiked in sweetness and is dripping in pheromones. He can maintain his composure as they work together on a school project. He can keep himself in check as his stupid smell wafts through the air, and directly into his nose.
He can’t do this.
Dessert before dinner (+18) by Morpheel [one shot, 3473 words]
Ground Zero has his work cut out for him as of late.
Between his increased Hero workload, and a pregnant mate at home, there's very little time to slow down and "smell the roses", as they say. He's too busy fighting the rampant crime rate going wild throughout the city without their Pillar of Justice on duty for 9 months. Yet leave it up to Izuku to find his own way in squirming some quality time in before Katsuki's shift.
Emergency contact (+18) by SurelyHeavenWaits [one shot, 3753 words]
There are some things in life that a person would like to know in advance:
weather forecasts, patrol schedules, patrol routes, being listed as an ERC for the person they've secretly loved for most of their life. Pro Hero Deku knew three of these things at the start of his shift.
Blonde haired bunnies (+18) by morpheel [one shot, 5194 words]
In an attempt to create a new genetic pattern in the Rabbit-Hybrid Gene, Izuku Midorya is paired with a very strange (and almost unorthodox) stud. The end goal is blonde haired, red eyed rabbits- though only one Alpha truly fits that bill.
Surely a wolf and a rabbit can't breed?
Late mornings (+18) by Oilux [one shot, words]
When Deku arrives, late for class, panting, red stained cheeks, every alpha in the class staring at him with open want, Bakugo only has one thought crossing his mind.
He’s mine.
Vitality in postpartum (+18) by ellslane [one shot,2989 words]
Katsuki can tell his husband has been dealing with his image after giving birth to their precious boy, and he's hellbent on making Izuku see the perfection he sees. Happy husband, happy life, after all.
Box (+18) by SurelyHeavenWaits [one shot, 3028 words]
On a stakeout for a villain with what's been reported as a lust-inducing Quirk, Pro Heroes Ground Zero and Deku find themselves boxed into a dire situation.
I’m so glad i found my mate today by kittiegirl1616 [oneshot, 2123 words]
Pro-Hero Ground Zero has captured a villain when he senses his mate is nearby.
whatever you’ve done, just bury (+18) it by ikvros [complete, 3 chapters, 18.593 words]
He knows how Katsuki thinks, talks, and fights. He knows how he sleeps, how he eats, how he loves, and how he leaves. And he knows what knows what it means for Katsuki to come back; has washed the evidence from the sheets countless times, scrubbed the scent of him off his skin in the morning until it’s as red and raw as his heart.
Their home (+18) by Veradiciy [one shot, 2694 words]
There was nothing wrong with parking the car inside their garage. Nothing wrong with turning off the ignition and locking the car while still inside. Not even when the sensory light of the garage had went out a minute later to leave darkness at its wake. Having sex comes naturally between a mated couple like Bakugou and Midoriya in the late night during the start of Midoriya's heat.
Please scent me by fleurown [one shot, words]
In which Deku needs a quick favor at a party and Katsuki can't deny such a cute face.
eternity by PepeermintLeo [one shot, 9.724 words]
Izuku was Kacchan’s partner, in every sense of the word. He ruled right next to Kacchan’s side, an alpha and an omega, leading Kacchan’s tribe against all sorts of odds. As well as his romantic partner, steady and solid by his side but giving when emotions called for it.
Uncertainty by SuperiorDragonLord [one shot, 5129 words]
Izuku was getting worried. After a particularly rough rescue mission, Katsuki had yet to even have a full conversation with him. Tensions are running high and Izuku is starting to get tired of walking around on eggshells. When he finally decides to confront Katsuki about it things take a direction he hadn't been prepared for.
Devil in me (+18) by glamour_weebs [oneshot, 1699 words]
Katsuki's usually the one getting into fights over Deku when they go to the club, but this time, his Omega's the one that starts a fight over him, but he doesn't stop there. Deku's determined to mark his territory.
if you can’t find the moning light, i’m here tonight by yabakuboi [oneshot, 3488 words]
Katsuki was never sure what happened to his childhood friend, quirkless Izuku who had presented as an omega and was whisked away to a traditional matchmaking house. Katsuki never saw him again after that, and tried to convince himself it was for the best. Many lonely years pass before he finds Izuku in the last place he ever wanted to, in the middle of a battlefield with a child clutching to his shirt.
Earned it (+18)by Morpheel [one shot, 6038 words]
Because within the illumination of lantern light stood a brothel’s worth of Omegas, all in various states of disarray, giggling and washing themselves without a care in the world to the army in their path.
Bakugou’s eyes narrowed in suspicion.
Say it again by susurrxus [one shot, 7153 words // Part of the (incomplete) “Mina Ashido approve of this ship” series]
Katsuki discoveres he doesnt quite oppose to being called Daddy... nor does he oppose to abusing his Omega until he's a sobbing whore on the teachers desk.
