As requested, this is a 4to2 conversion from Hydrangea. It will come out from the fridge in its lunch box (serving state), then sims will pick up the single tray and eat from that. Medium poly (6k). Available at lunch and dinner time

Some food advice for my SPD, ADHD, ADD, & Chronic No-Spoons-Disorder Siblings

So, we’ve all been there, the places where our food aversions get in the way of eating, the places where it is just Too Overwhelming to eat, the times when All the Food is Illegal, but Dang It, I’m Hungry. And I thought maybe y’all could benefit from my solution (which is admittedly ever-growing & changing). My solution, is Bento. For Example, here is one I made today;

It’s pretty simple, and all food I will eat: Apples, sliced into manageable chunks, black berries, strawberries, some diced cheese sticks, nuts, and gold fish crackers. All packaged in something portable and self-contained, my bento box even has its own utensils. The bottom half has a sealing lid, and gets kept in the fridge. The top half also has a sealing lid, and gets kept on the counter. My bento box is also microwave and dishwasher safe (meaning I don’t have to hand wash the dadgum thing if there’s space on the top rack). I have a cooler bag that it fits in with a couple Ice Packs, that I could also stick a juice box or can of soda in, if I was so inclined. It’s large enough to fit a whole sandwich inside. Or a serving of mac’n’cheese. Or stir-fry.

The true genius of this system lies in the fact that preparing it take Very Little Spoons, and it’s effectively several meals worth. Meaning if I make it when I have Spoons, I can eat it when I don’t have the Spoons to make other food. And it’s easy to counter-act the Illegal Food dilemma, with the logic of “hey! I made this thing, specifically for me to eat” not that it always works, mind you. AND None! of! My Food! Is Touching! I hate it when my different foods touch. Like, it has literally stopped me from eating before. But the system of dividers, silicone cupcake liners, and lidded containers keeps my food neatly separated. It’s like a grown-up lunchable. You can also put whatever you want in it. There are no rules. You could put the contents of a charcuterie board in one, if that’s your jam. It’s also great for portion control. 

And while, sure, I can’t get rid of the way my environment smells, if I have my own food, and my earbuds, it goes along way to helping with a sensory overload. I honestly wish I knew about this years ago. It would have saved me and my mom so much trouble when I was a kid. I actually bought Brother a Mobile Suit Gundam bento box for his birthday, hoping that maybe that would help him with his food aversions.
