Beyond Sponsored Posts: How Influencer Marketing Will Evolve in 2023
Tumblr media
In recent years, influencer marketing has become one of the most popular – and effective – marketing tools. Companies of all sizes are turning to influencers to help them promote their products and services.
However, influencer marketing is constantly evolving, and companies must stay up-to-date on the latest trends if they want to continue to be successful. In this blog post, we’ll take a look at some of the ways in which influencer marketing will evolve in 2023.
What Is Influencer Marketing?
Before discussing how influencer marketing will evolve, we must take a moment to consider what it actually is. Influencer marketing is the practice of leveraging influential people to help your company promote its products and services. These “influencers” are people who have amassed large followings of people on social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter.
These influencers have the potential to reach a large number of people, giving them the potential to have a major impact on the success or failure of a product or service. Companies can partner with influencers to create sponsored posts, videos, and other content in which the influencer promotes the company’s product or service. This content can then be shared with the influencer’s followers to reach a larger audience than the company could have without the influencer’s help.
Why is influencer marketing important?
Influencer marketing is a powerful tool that can help organizations increase their reach and visibility in ways traditional advertising can’t. Because influencers have built up a dedicated audience of followers who trust them and their recommendations, their endorsements have the potential to drive more sales and leads for companies.
Also, companies can secure high-quality content from these influencers that can be shared with their followers, making influencer marketing a cost-effective option for amplifying their marketing efforts. Furthermore, it allows companies to target specific audiences and tailor their message to different audiences with the help of different influencers.
Finally, through influencer marketing, brands can also increase engagement on their social media channels and build relationships with influential figures who can then become advocates for the brand.
What are the challenges of influencer marketing?
While influencer marketing appears to be the best way to reach potential customers and create brand awareness, it does come with a few challenges. The first one being that influencers may not always represent a brand in the best light. This is because influencers post content based on what they find entertaining and engaging and sometimes that is not in line with what the brand wants to convey. Therefore, companies should closely monitor the activities of the influencers and make sure that the content they are posting reflects the brand’s message.
The other challenge is the cost associated with influencer marketing. Finding the perfect influencer for your brand can be a time-consuming and costly process. Companies need to do their research and select an influencer that is the right fit for their brand and its message. Moreover, companies should also consider the cost of paying influencers, as some of them charge quite a lot for promoting your products.

SMG4's Stupid Storytime
SMG4 reads a book of fairytales to Jubjub's preschool class as a framing device for a clipshow of fairytale-themed blooper skits depicting the Crew and their friends.
They did not sign up for this bullshit.

Putting this comment on here because I feel like I’m actually going insane…
It seems like nobody in the comments even watched the video, complaining about how paying for content is difficult in this economy, like, that's why they are doing this! They cannot continue to make the content they want for free based on ads and sponsors alone. If you have paid attention to the "Making Watcher"s of recent years, their company is not, and has not been profitable. They are so dependent on advertisers for funding that it is becoming a restriction to the content they want to make (y'a know, like Buzzfeed was), so they had to find a solution. I don't know why you all seem to think you are entitled to free content, I understand not everyone can afford it but Watcher doesn't owe you content personally. Frankly, I doubt they wanted to put their content behind a paywall, but if it's that or not make content at all, of course they are going to try to find a solution. So no, they aren't "turning into Buzzfeed” because the massive problem with Buzzfeed was its restrictions on creative freedom and exploitation of its workers. If Watcher wants to produce fulfilling content that gives their editors, designers, producers, etc full creative freedom and a livable wage, this is the best option. If you want them to pay their workers the bare minimum and tailor their content to advertiser interests just so you can watch it for free, that's fine. Just don't pretend that they are some evil media mega-corporation and you are the anti-capitalist shining hero for saying it. You don't have to like it, and you don't have to continue to support them, but don't try to shame and demonize them for making an already difficult decision.
Many of you DO have an understanding of the difficult position our current economic system puts people in because you have experienced it, but you are so unable to extend that understanding beyond your own point of view. Look past yourself for a moment and think critically, and maybe you will understand their perspective. Much love for all of the talented people within Watcher who are doing their best.
And just to add, their format going forward is almost IDENTICAL to CollegeHumor-Dropout's streaming service format (even down to the free premieres and advocating for sharing accounts with friends), which most people praise to high heaven as "the only ethical streaming service." As a huge fan of both companies the stark difference in response here is actually astounding...

BEYOND SALVAGE — ellie williams x fem!reader.
a catholic boarding school AU pt 1 🍓
pt 2 here!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you’re somebody that’s virtuous, staying in an all girls catholic boarding school. fallen victim to the vast fear of god, you try your hardest not to sin. however what happens when an embarrassing incident catches a certain rogue girl’s attention — who absolutely reeks of sin?
content: heavy religious talk, catholic, holy! reader, rebel!ellie, quiet!reader, player!ellie, ellie has piercings, ‘lil raunchy but no smut (yet heheh), v brief mention of drugs, v brief mention of porn.
a/n: this is a rewrite of a fic i did back in the summer! i had accidentally (and stupidly) deleted my account :,) let’s pray people see this.
having lived in a catholic boarding school for half of your life, it’s only natural you were heavily religious. the fear of god plagued you like a disease. you were nailed on following the Word, and earning a seat in heaven — not it’s roaring, fiery counterpart.
you were a good girl: always following the rules the sisters bestowed upon you. always deemed as pure, and untainted. you prayed every night without fail: knelt beside your bed, elbows against the mattress, hands clasped together.
you had always tried your hardest to stray away from sin. however, there’d be temptations, of course. for instance, that one time you caught a bunch of girls in your dorm giggling and squealing at a porno-magazine they had randomly found somewhere. you had accidentally caught a very brief glimpse at a woman flaunting her tits and you couldn’t quite put your finger on it, but it made you feel something. a needy little throb between your thighs. that night, consumed with guilt, you had prayed so hard that your head hurt.
oh, and if we’re talking about temptations? ELLIE WILLIAMS had to be the hardest one yet.
take the word sinful and ellie would come to mind. she was someone you had always tried your best to avoid. rebellious, brash and cocky. it was said she was forced here as punishment from her parents. she had always been hard to discipline: had piercings (spider bites and one on her right brow), always snuck out and was notorious for smuggling in drugs.
even though ellie was a pain, there was no way the nuns could expel her since her parents sponsored the school a generous amount. they had to resort to seeing ellie as someone they could “save.”
whenever she roamed the hallways, every girl would scramble to move out of her way. she was incredibly intimidating and got into fights whenever she wanted to — both with students AND the sisters. of course you wouldn’t want to mess with her.
there were also numerous rumours circling around about her. too many to count, but one stuck with you the most: that she gets it on with girls. hearing from your gossip-gripped friends that ellie had fucked a handful of girls in your school had surprised you. you were brutally naive, so preoccupied with seeming good in the eyes of the Lord that you weren’t aware that something like that could happen. this had only made you want to stay away from ellie even more.
you were quiet, so timid and meek that you believed yourself lucky to actually have friends. your quietness allowed ellie not to notice you, not even be aware of your existence despite you two being in a lot of the same classes. you didn’t mind — in fact, you were glad. relieved, even.
that is, until the school’s annual sports day.
it was a scorching hot day in the middle of june and many of the girls were excited. not particularly because of the sports but because every time, the neighbouring all boys school would join yours. a classic boys versus girls. you didn’t really care whether the boys were here or not, as opposed to your friends who were all bashful and red-faced. you found it understandable considering they’re sheltered away from them most of the time. bless them.
you and your friends were leaning against the fence of the tennis court. you were so hot that your t-shirt stuck to the small of your back, little baby hairs glued to your forehead. bored from all the boy-talk, your eyes decided to drift to a certain auburn-haired girl: manspreading on the bench right across from you. you wondered how a woman could sit so unladylike.
ellie was out of breath, probably from doing a running activity. there was visible sweat gleaming on the corner of her forehead and her cheeks were pink. god knows why, but you allowed yourself to prolong your stare. you watched as ellie grabbed her water bottle, gulping down desperate sips; some of the water spilling and dripping down her slender neck. you watched as the skin on her neck bobbed as she sipped, heard as she panted breathlessly like a dog. you felt the skin on your cheeks begin to prickle, and you suddenly found it hard to breathe. when her pale green eyes caught yours, you immediately looked away, turning your attention back to your friends. that was the first time you two had ever made eye contact.
a moment later, it was your group’s turn to play tennis. ellie remained perched on the bench, and as you waited in the queue to have a go on batting the ball, you happened to be quite near her. you tried your very best to play it cool. ellie paid no attention, spaced-out and obviously too lazy to participate in the activities.
there were also boys in the queue, right behind you, which had got your girls in a frenzy. one of your friends decided to push you against them. “oops” she would say before purposely bumping you towards them again and again. you were awkward and uncomfortable, but you had played it off and giggled, acting as if it was funny. at a point, she accidentally pushed you too hard which made you lose your balance; stumbling on your heel and falling backwards. right onto ellie’s lap. yep! her lap.
“woah?” ellie said, caught off guard. “oh shit. go. go!” your so-called friends murmured as they scrambled off, leaving you completely and utterly humiliated. you immediately bolted off her lap as you turned around to look at her.
“i’m really sorry. that was— i mean, my f-friends were…” you began to ramble, feeling your whole body turn hot. ellie’s lips cracked up into an amused grin.
“it’s chill. not very often you get a cute girl sitting on your lap for less than a second.” she chuckled. you blushed immensely, before rapidly nodding and speeding away.
if only your little innocent self knew how quick things would change…
a/n: hooked? read pt 2 here!

This fic was partially sponsored by @clerdecat in collaboration with @ficsforgaza please consider checking out the blog and efforts over there 🍉
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kita Shinsuke was the nicest guy at your university.
You could ask anybody in the school to describe him and you’d only get compliments.
Respectable. Honest. Good-natured. Patient. Beyond helpful. Thoughtful. The guy that parents wished their daughters would bring home. The one that girls fawned over and chided their boyfriends, begging them to be more like him. The boy that all boyfriends either glared at or took notes from.
Kita Shinsuke and all his enchanting traits who was, more often than not, the object of your innocent little daydreams.
Daydreams where you were exhausted after a long day of classes and would relax into his embrace. Where he would welcome you home with a soft and sweet kiss on the cheek and draw you a bath, cook you dinner as you relaxed in it, and give you a loving massage after you’ve eaten. Daydreams where he would do your skincare routine for you as you giggled and help you with your hair before bed.
Kita Shinsuke who worked the late shift at the university library. Voluntarily there every weekend night until it was closing time so his coworkers could go party. Unlike you, always there for reading instead of working. Reading and maybe the occasional chat with the university’s ‘golden boy’ as he took interest in whatever book you were reading for the night.
Kita Shinsuke.
The name repeated in your head like a sigh of contentment. Breathing like the repetition and softness that he displayed to everyone. The respectability and sureness, the reliability of him. You especially liked the protective nature of his closeness as he insisted on making sure you made it home from the library safe.
Tonight it was an accident, you being at the library all the way until closing. It was late even for you, almost midnight on the chilly weekend night. He’d kept you talking in the empty library until you both had lost track of time. The minutes ticking by too quickly for you to realize.
Your heart had fluttered when his deep voice had soothed over your apologies for being there even a minute after closing. He’d insisted that you wait the extra half an hour in the warmness of the library as he closed up his stations and put away a few books, locking up before he walked you home. He wanted to make sure you were safe, that you got home okay this late in the night.
When he’d finally locked the front door and took your lead towards your campus apartment, your cheeks had gone warm, despite the cold air of the night, as he’d lent you his scarf to wrap around your neck as he walked with you. It smelled like him as you tucked your chin into the fabric, hiding your smile.
It was a short walk from the library to your campus apartment, but he made sure to keep you talking the entire way. Small, idle chatter that pulled small laughs from both of your lips. Your breaths and his made small clouds in the air every time, a testament to how chilly it was outside. He walked close to you, almost as if he was supposed to be right there, like it was a routine, and you reveled in it. It fueled another little fantasy about him always walking you home to ensure that no one but him would have even a chance to bother you.
“This is my building,” you whispered the words quietly, sweetly, almost with regret to an end to the sweet time you’d spent with him as you gestured to the building the two of you had finally come upon. “I’m on the first floor, there.” You pointed in the direction of your first floor apartment and he smiled as he led you down the correct outdoor hallway of the building.
You smiled as he stopped in front of your door. You didn’t quite register that he had stopped in front of the door before you had, despite you having not indicated exactly which of the doors was yours. You were too focused on how sweet he had been to you, too attached to the dizziness from having the ‘golden boy’ give you so much attention. Too focused on the way the fog curled out of his lips from his hot breaths as he looked down at you, standing too close if it had been anyone else.
But it wasn’t anyone else. It was Kita Shinsuke. The nicest boy on campus. And he would never do anything to hurt you. Never cross a boundary.
“This is me,” you whispered softly with a small laugh and he gave you one in response.
“Seems t’be, yeah.” He smiled down at you and you swore that your heart melted a little bit more, the gesture warming you up inside slightly. “Don’t wanna keep yer roomie waitin’,” he joked as you hesitated to bring your keys to the door, enjoying his presence in the space just outside of your door a little too much.
“Oh,” you laughed lightly as you waved dismissively, as if to shoo his worries away when you brought your keys up to the lock, “no need to worry about that. She went home for the whole weekend.” You missed the sparkle of excitement in his eye as you fiddled with twisting the lock on your door, the look already replaced with a look of worry by the time you looked back at him.
“You sure that you’ll be ‘kay all ‘lone in there?” He leaned slightly, peeking around you as you opened the door, his tone perfectly laced with worry.
“I’ll be okay, Kita-san,” you answered politely, smiling at him over your shoulder. “Thank you so much for making sure I got home safe.” You stepped inside easily, turning to face him again as he leaned against the wall just outside your door. “I can’t think of how I could possibly properly repay you.” You were smiling and looking up at him shyly as you tucked yourself against your door.
Kita loved when you looked up at him like that. You did it often without your knowledge at the library too. Innocently putting all your faith and trust in him, batting pretty eyelashes up at him.
“I’ll see you next time, Kita-san.” Your smile didn’t leave as you began to shut the door.
The door stopped just before it was closed, your eyes darting up in confusion and widening as you saw Kita’s fingers wrapped around it, catching it and cracking it back open so you could see each other again. You felt your body freeze, unease slipped into your muscles, tensing them as you watched the door creep back open.
Kita thinks that maybe he liked this look on you a little bit more. Your eyes wide, fear starting to invade your features as you mentally questioned why he was making such a bold move.
His hand came up to the back of his neck, imitating sheepish nature as he gave a gentle smile, intent on soothing your nerves. “Sorry, y/n, would ya mind if I stole back m’scarf fer m’own walk home?”
You laughed, the sound mixing with a breath of relief, your body immediately relaxing at the sight of his smile and the sound of his request. Your cheeks heated up at the fact that you’d just let the sweetest boy on campus scare you because you’d forgotten about the possession of his currently wrapped around your neck.
“I’m so sorry, of course,” you sighed and reached to unwind it from your neck. Kita’s hands found the fabric first.
You froze again, but this time due to his closeness as he looked down at you, his warm fingers a stark contrast against your cold skin as he unwound the fabric from your neck. You swallowed hard from your own nervousness. He was so close you could feel his breath ghosting across your skin and he could faintly smell the sweet scent of your conditioner in the air around you.
Your eyes were trained on his face, locked onto his features in shock. His own, however, were trained on the empty apartment behind you, taking in what he could see from the doorway.
“Y’kmow,” he mused, side-stepping slightly, “I wanted t’make sure y’got home alright. Wouldn’ feel right, leavin’ y’here ‘lone.” Your joints began to lock up again as you watched him place a hand on your shoulder and step past you, his body moving fluidly as he crossed the threshold into your apartment.
“Stay here for a sec,” he requested, gesturing to the door, “with all the break-ins lately, jus’ wanna make sure yer ‘partment’s empty.” The warm smile he shot you eased some of that ice in your body as he moved around the apartment on his own.
He was just trying to make sure you were safe. That’s what you were telling yourself. There had been a lot of break-ins around campus in the last month. Kita Shinsuke was just living up to the title of nicest boy on campus.
You took a deep breath to relax yourself as you hovered in the front entrance of your own apartment like he’d requested of you.
He was just ensuring your safety and you smiled at that. He was so kind and it did absolutely nothing to quell the little fantasies poking in your mind about coming home to him in a house the two of you owned. Of him helping you make dinner or walking you to classes.
Innocent little fantasies compared to the ones he was currently entertaining.
Because Kita Shinsuke, the nicest boy on campus, was currently looking at your bed as he ‘ensured no one was in the room’, and thinking about how you would look laid out under him on top of it. Kita Shinsuke, the nicest boy on campus, who had to shake the thought out of his head and remember what he was supposed to be doing. Checking locks on your windows and making sure that everything was in order, that no one was there to hurt you when he wasn’t there.
“All clear.” He laughed lightly as he came back into your view, checking one last window in your kitchen. The window that pointed out towards the open road behind your apartment. “I’d blame myself if somethin’ happened t’ya.” His charming smile sent a wave of warmth and comfort through you as you watched him make his way easily back to your front door, keeping his hands to himself as he went this time. “Keep yerself safe fer me t’night, m’kay?”
He winked soft;y as he passed you again and you nodded along obediently, giddiness flooding your body at the thought of him caring that much about you. “Thank you, Kita-san.” You looked at him dreamily as you leaned on the door, watching him turn to face you again, now back on the outside of your home.
“You should call me Shinsuke,” he gave a soft laugh as your expression morphed into surprise at the request, “if I could keep calling you, y/n.”
“Um-” you cleared your throat quickly, picking up your dropped jaw to help preserve whatever was left of your composure, “yes of course. Thank you, Shinsuke.” His name came off your tongue like honey and he smiled as he heard it. “I’ll see you around.”
He only nodded in response this time, turning to walk away and leaving you in your doorway, still enraptured by the interaction. You were sure to heed his request and lock the door after him, perfectly content and feeling safe now that he had made sure you would be okay here alone.
It made it easy for you to go to sleep, knowing that, even though you were unusually alone in the space, Kita Shinsuke himself had made sure you would be safe. Easy to go to sleep still fantasizing about Kita Shinsuke walking you home all the time, always there to keep you safe.
Tumblr media
Campus at 2am was much less populated than campus just before midnight. Dead, really.
With fog creeping down the streets, the only people really to be seen out at this time were the boys sneaking home from their girls’ apartments and the students who lost track of time at the 24-hour study hall while doing last-minute studying for that exam that they’d forgotten about until the night before.
On a weekend night like tonight, there were a few students who were drunkenly making their way back to their apartments after deciding the party they were at didn’t warrant them staying the night like most decided to do. All of those, and then the ones who were up to no good…
Kita Shinsuke wasn’t usually one to be out around campus at 2am. He never fell into the above categories. He ran by a fairly strict routine and rarely broke it. And if someone were to claim they’d seen him walking in the dark, along the open street that ran behind the campus apartments? Well… no one would believe them.
But Shinsuke knew what he was doing. He knew where he was going. He knew exactly which kitchen window he’d checked on just two hours before. The window he also knew that you wouldn’t double check before going to bed.
Because Shinsuke knew his reputation. He knew he was the nicest guy on campus and that you believed he had nothing but well-meaning intentions behind his charming smile.
He also knew that at 2am, you would be sound asleep. All safe and tucked into your bed. The very bed that he so desperately wanted to see you laid out on.
All for him. Only for him.
Shinsuke knew what he was doing as he popped the screen off the kitchen window to your apartment. The screen he’d discreetly loosened as he’d checked the window earlier in the night. Knew what he was doing when he slowly slid the window open, the one he’d left open just enough for you to not notice. The window creaked slightly as it graced along the track.
Shinsuke thought that you were incredibly naive to have put so much trust in him to not even double check his work when he’d entered your apartment without permission so easily. Incredibly naive to have fallen asleep so easily when you were so alone and the protection that you usually kept in your nightstand was no longer there.
That was something else you’d failed to notice from his earlier visit.
It was all too easy to slip his slim body through the window and onto your kitchen counter, submerging himself in the darkness of your apartment.
Tumblr media
You had been sound asleep. Right up until the point when a loud crash woke you.
Shooting up from bed, a small gasp on your lips and your eyes wide. You tried to take in the surroundings of your room all at once. Your room was only illuminated lightly by the light that filtered in from the streetlights through the cracks in your blinds.
For a moment you thought that maybe you’d hallucinated the sound that woke you. Only a for moment, though. Because then you heard the sound of crunching class under boots almost echoing in your ears.
You scrambled out of bed quickly, yanking open the drawer to your nightstand to search it. Your fingers froze when they couldn’t find the safety net that was supposed to be there. Your eyes snapped back to the closed door of your bedroom as the steps came closer.
You quickly found yourself tucking yourself into the closet, the first place you could think to hide. You pulled the shades closed and ducked down low, trying to make yourself as small as possible. Sudden terror pulsed through your veins as the door to your room creeped open and you held your breath.
A familiar head of silver and black hair peeked its way into your room and you nearly breathed out a sigh of relief to see Shinsuke.
Nearly.
Because then you realized that Shinsuke had no way to get into your apartment unless he’d left himself a way when he was there earlier. Your eyes flickered to your open nightstand and where your protection was supposed to be, a sinking feeling settled in your stomach as you heard the nicest guy on campus chuckle when he stared at your empty bed.
“Oh y/n,” he singsonged your name as he stepped past the door to the closet you were hiding in. The sound set goosebumps rising along your neck. “Come out, come out.” He had to stop himself from laughing at the cliche statement as he said it.
You watched as he placed his palm on your bed to lean over and check under it. You knew the closet would be next and so you made a move. Quickly pushing open the door and trying to make a break for it.
Shinsuke smiled as he heard your panicked breathing, your quick footsteps racing to your living room.
This was the best part.
His longer legs quickly caught up to you. His hand grabbed you by the arm, pulling you against the wall and caging you against it.
Against that innocent look of faith and trust he loved that you gave him. Against that look he liked more, where fear slightly covered your face as you questioned his rather bold actions. He knew he liked this look on you the most.
You looked up at him, tears starting to well up in your still tired eyes, your every feature emanating the utter terror that you felt being pinned against the wall. The look of betrayal across your face.
Yes. he loved this look on you most of all.
You couldn’t seem to move. Your mind suddenly wiped of every self-defense tactic you’d ever been taught. There was a predatory smirk painted across his lips, much different than the charming smile that usually sat there. His deceptively kind eyes were calculating your every movement as you shook in your spot.
“Wha’s the matter, sweet?” His hand comes up to brush gentle fingers against your jaw and he tsks at you as you flinch away, turning your head to look away from him.
“Please, Kita-san.” You’re whispering it, begging.
He only clicks his tongue in disappointment at you again. “I told ya,” he chides, suddenly gripping your chin in a harsh grip, turning it and forcing you to look at him again. He ignores the soft whimper you make at the pain and the shake he can feel in your chest as you hold back a small cry. “Call me, Shinsuke.”
He can’t help the way his thoughts turn to how you look so adorable like this; your lips trembling as you try not to cry, still not fully awake and trying to process why exactly the campus ‘nice guy’ currently had you caged against a wall.
He sighs softly and brushes his thumb against your bottom lip, pulling it down before letting it pop back into place. “It sounds s’pre’y comin’ off yer lips.”
You swallowed down the lump in your throat. “Please, Sinsuke,” your voice stressed his name, shaking and wet with tears, “just let me go, please.”
“But baby,” he put on a fake pout as he looked down at you, hand coming gracefully wrapping around your throat, “ya wanted t’repay me fer earlier.” He let a sly smile cross his lips as your eyes widened realizing you’d said just that to him earlier.
That you couldn’t think of how you could possibly properly repay him.
He squeezed your throat slightly for your attention, pulling a small squeak out of you and regretfully sending a wave down your core. “Gonna tell me ya ne’er thought ‘bout me like this?” He smirked as you looked away shamefully, he was right, of course your fantasies weren’t always innocent, that sometimes they strayed. But this was more than you’d ever thought of. “Hmm, what I thought.”
“Sinsuke,” your breath hitched around his name as he pressed his body against yours, desperate to feel you more, his fingers easily brushing the bare skin between your loose top and shorts, “please. Just let me go.” You let out a soft sob, fresh tears coating your cheeks. “I won’t tell anyone.” You tried to pull yourself further away from him, but he persisted in pressing against you.
“Course ya won’t,” he chuckled, his lips coming down to nip at your ear, reveling in the way you flinched away from the action. “Who’s gon’ believe ya? The nicest guy on campus.” His laugh sounded deep in your ear, sending shivers down your spine, stiffening your joints, turning your limbs to lead.
No one would believe you.
Kita Shinsuke, the most respectable boy on campus, currently had you trapped against the wall in your apartment. The apartment he had broken into while you were sleeping. The action clearly having been planned for at least a few hours.
“C’mon, tell me, princess,” he mumbled against your skin, “how ya don’t want it.”
Shinsuke took a step back from you, removing his presence completely, just under a foot between you now. His eyes were taunting you, challenging you to run.
You did.
You willed your legs to move, peeling yourself from the wall and taking off towards the front door. Desperate to make it away from him. You made it to the boundary, your fingers fumbling to undo the deadbolt.
Your hand had just wrapped around the handle, just about to pull the door towards you when his strong arms wrapped around your waist. His muscles flexed and easily lifted you up as you kicked at the air. His hand clapping over your mouth to stop you as you went to scream, the sound now muffled by his palm.
He only laughed in your ear as he turned with you, walking your kicking form back to the bedroom. “Oh, knew ya’d run. Yer s’cute tryna get ‘way like that.”
Fearful tears washed over your cheeks, collecting along the top of his large hand, which was fully covering the bottom half of your face, muffling your cries and keeping your head pinned to his broad shoulder.
It was pathetic even to you, how easily he carried you back to your room as your hands tried to pry at his arms and your legs swung wildly, trying to get his grip to loosen. Pathetic and useless.
“Now, now,” Shinsuke cooed in your ear, his voice dropping lower by an octave as he nudged your ear with his nose, “calm down.” That was an order. You could hear it in the growl of his voice, that sent a cold chill down your spine.
Fight or flight or freeze. Your body couldn’t seem to choose between the three options, it was confusing and disorienting and you cried harder.
His hand slipped from your face to close around your neck, applying a deadly pressure against the sides of it. “Stop strugglin’ yeah?” The sound of it sent your head into a dizzy. The pressure was immediately building, starting with your ears, muting sound slightly, and pushing past your eyes, making things spin slightly. You could feel the blood flow slow down.
A strangled cry left your throat, “Kita-san, please.”
“Please what?” he mocked, his tone condescending as he watched the small sobs as they shook your body. “Please take ya?” he smiled as you tried to shake his head in a violent protest to his tight grip. “Tha’s what ya wan’ right?” He pressed a deceivingly soft kiss into your neck as he stood in front of your side of the bed. “I see ya lookin’ at me when yer thinkin’ I’m not payin’ attention.”
You whimpered in shame, of course you had. You didn’t know a single girl, or even guy, that didn’t look at him when he wasn’t looking. It wasn’t even a question that he was ridiculously attractive. The campus nice guy… supposed nice guy.
“Please. Please,” you begged more, shaking your head frantically.
“Shut up,” he growled out before tossing you down on the bed. You didn’t even wait for your body to stop bouncing before you were trying to crawl away from him, scrambling across the sheets to reach the other side and get yourself out.
You’d thought you’d almost made it but his hands wrapped around your ankles and yanked you back. You let out a small scream as your hands scrambled to grip the other edge of the bed, just out of reach as he dragged you back to him.
There was a throaty groan that left his lips, “the more ya fight, the rougher I gotta be with ya.” He laughed again as he moved his grip to your thighs, prying them apart as you struggled to keep them closed and placing himself between them. “But hey, maybe ya like it rough.”
You could hear the smirk in his voice as you cried out again, the sound of fabric ripping turning into cold wind felt against your hips now, your destroyed shorts falling away from your body. The low whistle he let out told you that he now knew you’d gone to bed without any panties on under those shorts he just ruined, that your entire lower half was now visible to him.
You tried harder, struggled more to close your thighs, but his hands kept your hips pinned to the bed and his own knees kept your legs stuck open. It felt like he’d done this before, the positioning too perfect, too impossible to escape from.
“Please,” you whimpered, “please no,” you tried to beg as your hands came back behind you, trying to pry his own away from your body. “I don’t, I don’t like it rough.”
“No?” he asked, his tone low, mocking, curious, and you thought that maybe you’d succeeded at removing one of his hands from you. But instead, a gasp ripped from your throat as you felt his cold fingers drag easily along your slit, your shame coating them easily and aiding in how they glided against your most sensitive areas. He leaned over you, lips placed next to your ear, body weight pinning you to the bed as he easily slid a finger inside of your cunt, the sound of it squelching echoing around the room. “Then why’re ya s’wet like this?”
You whimpered at the humiliation of it. You didn’t know why your body was betraying you like this. Why your hips twitched when he curled that one finger inside of you. You were frightened by this side of Shinsuke, fresh tears dripping down to your chin. But your body still responded…
“Like a bitch in heat.” Shinsuke laughed and leaned off of you only slightly.
Your whispered pleas for him to stop did nothing to the affect you wanted, they only served to make him harder as he quickly pulled himself out of the sweats he’d worn over. He had one hand on the back of your neck, effectively keeping your upper body pinned as you tried to futilely kick your legs.
“Stay still now, sweet.” He was smiling down at you, small and helpless under him, legs spread so he could see just how embarrassingly wet you were getting from him forcing himself onto you.
Your slick glistened against the tops of your inner thighs and tears dripped into your mouth as you cried and begged, pleaded for him to let you go.
He loved you like this.
He lined himself up, considering his options.
“S’might hurt.” He didn’t give you time to process his statement, the warning before he shoved himself inside of you in one single thrust. No prep. No time to adjust to the feeling of being impaled on his length.
Shinsuke didn’t think it was possible for him to get any harder than he already was, but the sound of the scream that ripped through your body, the immediate freezing of all your muscles as your body struggled to process the abrupt and painful stretch proved him wrong.
“Fuck, baby.” He crumbled slightly, a broken moan seeping through his lips when you let out your own sinful moan against your will, fingernails digging into the forearms that caged around you, keeping you pinned in place for him. “So fuckin’ tight and wet fer me,” he mumbled against your skin.
Suddenly, remembering your predicament, you cried out and moved to try and shove his hips back from yours. “Stop, please,” your voice was a broken whimper, softer than before and using the rest of your willpower to beg the words.
“Yer right,” he pulled out slowly and you, naively, thought, for even just a second, that he was letting you go. He thrust back into you roughly and groaned when you cried out again. “I should be movin’ fer ya, let ya really feel it.”
He gripped your wrists from where they tried to push at his hips and pushed them down closer to the mattress before yanking them backwards, effectively manhandling your body and forcing you to lift your hips off the bed and into the air for him. He used his grip on your wrists to yank you back against the thrusts of his cock as he buried it deep inside of you, bullying that soft spot inside of you that had stars spinning behind your eyes.
“Listen t’how that slutty little cunt sounds fer me, she’s beggin’ t’be treated like this,” he mocked over the sound of your cries, drawing attention to the wet noise that echoed every time his balls hit your clit.
You hated it. Hated your body. Hated how good it felt to have the head of his cock slamming against your insides, forcing the breath out of your body along with cries. Pleas for him to stop. You hated the way you could feel that familiar curling in your gut as he ignored your pleas.
Hated the painful stretch from the lack of prep, the burning pressure from his hands locked around your wrists, the cock that was fucking into you with reckless abandon, hated that it all added up to that coil tightening, begging to be undone.
“Feel how ya squeeze me?” he groaned lightly as he forced himself to fuck into you faster. “Feel s’fuckin’ ‘mazin’.” Your cries built up, louder and louder, but he only laughed, clinging to the way those cries mixed in with your moans and gasps, sounds you couldn’t control.
He could feel your body about to cum, tuning into all the signs. He could almost feel the shame that pooled in your chest at that fact, too, and how it dripped out of you right onto his cock, making it easier for him to fuck you faster, harder, deeper. He was determined to fuck you through your orgasm, to rip it out of you and still not stop.
You could feel yourself cumming before you could even process what was happening, your muscles squeezing and fresh tears falling down your cheeks, moans bubbling from your lips as you begged him to stop or let you go.
“Shut up,” he growled, releasing your wrists and switching his grip to your hips instead. He pulled them up so your body was forced onto its knees. Keeping one hand on your hips, his other found your throat again, picking up your upper body and pinning it to his chest with that vice grip.
“Actin’ like ya didn’t jus’ cum like a whore on my cock,” he groaned the words into your ear, his voice dark and rough with pleasure, “and yet gonna do it again.”
Your head felt fuzzy from the pressure of his hand around your throat, restricting airflow and blood flow just enough that you could feel everything more intensely as he continued to pound into you.
Sound was muffled as it reached your ears, your vision blurred from either tears or pleasure or both. But you were explicitly aware of the way your body tensed under and gave into his rough treatment. Of the way your second orgasm built inside of you, coiling up tightly and quickly, more every time that the new angle he was fucking you at caused the head of his cock to slam into a soft sensitive part of you, sparking both pain and pleasure across your insides.
“Fuck, fuck,” he moaned in your ear, “wanna fill ya up,” your brain seemed to go even fuzzier at the sound of the words and you whimpered. “Tell me ya wanna be filled up by me,” he ordered and the words fell from your lips almost immediately, obediently.
Tears continued to fill your vision and stars circled around your room, the light-headedness from Shinsuke’s hand around your throat helped the moans fall from your lips easier. “Wanna feel y’cum,” you slurred the words, feeling like your brain was turning off from the way he expertly handled your body.
A soft chuckle barely registered in your ears as his hand left your hip and found its way to your clit, rubbing tight circles as he fucked you over the edge again.
You were barely aware that you were cumming again, your body acting on its own. Soft words of “good girl” whispered in your ear put a blissed out smile on your lips as he came inside of you. You were barely aware of him pulling out, the cum starting to leak out of you, dripping down your thighs.
His hand unwound from your throat and your body softly hit the bed. Sound blared back to its normal volume as you laid on the bed panting, trying to catch your breath. The feeling of Shinsuke’s body hitting the bed next to you was paired with his own heavy breathing, just as out of breath as you were.
There was about a minute of silence between you before you finally spoke up. “I loved those shorts. You owe me a new pair.” Your voice was hoarse from the noises you’d previously been making, breathy from your panting, but surprisingly still there.
He laughed then, not menacing like it had been before, but a soft and amused sound the way it usually was. You turned your head to the side to look at him. He was lying on his back next to you, soft smile on his face. “I told ya not t’wear things ya liked,” he teased lightly, turning to catch your eyes. His predatory gaze had softened and was replaced with one filled with love.
His fingers lifted to graze along the soft freckle-like bruises near your eyes. “I wen’ t’hard,” he mumbled, frowning at himself as he assessed the damage his hand had done to your throat. His eyes trailed down and spotted the bruises starting to form on your wrists and hips, no doubt your ankles too, but you shook your head at him.
“No,” you assured him, shifting closer to him, “I liked it, Shinsuke, promise.” You hummed as he gingerly wrapped his arms around you. Touches much softer now than they had just been, treating you like you might break now, although they’d tried only minutes prior to be the things that would break you.
“Let me get ya some ice?” he asked, rubbing soothing circles into the skin of your shoulders as he held you.
You shook your head lightly, “in a bit?” He hummed in agreement and pressed a soft kiss to the top of your head. “I love you, Shin,” you whispered as you buried your head into your boyfriend’s chest.
You missed the soft smile that passed his lips now, “I love ya too, princess.”
Kita Shinsuke. The nicest guy at your university.
Kita Shinsuke.
Who, if you tried to tell them, no one would believe that he does nasty things to his girlfriend in the dead of night. That he would break into her apartment if she asked him to and force her to get fucked stupid while she begged for him to stop. And no one would believe that he liked it too.
But Kita Shinsuke was in love with every part of you. Especially when he could have you in his arms. Any way he could.

haymitch abernathy headcanons
someone requested haymitch x younger!virgin!reader. content warnings for age gap (reader is of legal age). otherwise includes fem!reader, losing virginity, a mixture of fluff, angst, and smut!!
haymitch is a very closed off person when you first meet him — he isn’t interested in making friends unless it benefits him in some way, like getting sponsors for his tributes or a good price on liquor
but you manage to worm your way into his heart, and he quickly finds himself enjoying your company more than he thought possible
the age gap between you two definitely crosses his mind as something odd, but honestly, he is very emotionally stunted — he lost his childhood to the arena; he is both wise and tortured beyond his years
haymitch doesn’t exactly get around…he isn’t a virgin by any means, but he’s normally too uninterested to bother or too drunk to get it up — he would start off with a teasing comment, probably, when he finds out you’re a virgin but would apologize if that comment truly offended you, he is just often tactless with sensitive or embarrassing subjects
he would be incredibly gentle with you, the first time, would try to sober up as much as he could to make the experience tender and memorable
fucking you is one thing, but falling for you is a whole new can of worms for him
he cracks jokes just to hear you laugh, shaves if the feeling of his stubble bothers you (or grows it out, if you say you like it), and slowly but surely tries to pull himself together so he can be worthy of you (in his own words)

VI. the winner takes it all
lewis hamilton x ferrari engineer!reader
lewis and you are no strangers, but the hurt that followed knowing him, makes his announcement for 2025 nothing but dreadful for you
series masterlist | main masterlist
Tumblr media
You remember how it all started. The excitement, the passion, the shared dreams, and the relentless ambition. You and Lewis had it all. Or so it seemed. As a top engineer at Ferrari, you lived and breathed motorsport, but it was your relationship with Lewis that made the moments off the track truly special.
It was Monaco 2016, the night before the big race. The sky was clear, and the stars shimmered over the Mediterranean. You met Lewis at a gala, the kind of event where the air buzzed with champagne bubbles and the murmur of high society. Lewis, with his charming smile and magnetic presence, was the center of attention, but when he looked at you, it was as if the world stopped. You talked about cars, strategies, and everything in between. There was an instant connection.
Over time, your relationship blossomed. The thrill of sneaking away for secret dates, the late-night conversations about life beyond racing, and the quiet moments where you could just be yourselves. Those were the times you cherished the most.
One night, as you both lay on the balcony of his apartment overlooking the city, Lewis rested his head on your lap, a rare moment of vulnerability from the world champion. “You know, sometimes I really wish I could run away from all the fame and people, and live a quiet life with you,” he whispered, his eyes closed in contentment.
You ran your fingers through his hair, feeling the weight of his words. “No Lewis, you love this. You love the fame and the cameras, it’s me who wishes you could run away from it all. I’m the selfish one.”
But love is never simple, especially when it’s tangled with the relentless pressure of professional success. Lewis's career skyrocketed, and with every victory, every championship, the distance between you grew. You were proud of him, of course, but the endless races, the media frenzy, and the never-ending demands on his time left little room for you.
It all came to a head after his fourth world championship win. The victory party was grand, a glittering affair that went on till dawn. But amid the celebration, you felt like a ghost, invisible and alone. You tried to talk to him, but he was swept away by adoring fans, sponsors, and the endless parade of well-wishers. When he finally found a moment, you could see the exhaustion in his eyes.
“I’m sorry,” he said, and for a moment, you believed he meant it. But apologies couldn't bridge the growing chasm between you.
You tried to hold on, but the nights grew colder, and the days lonelier. Eventually, the strain became too much. One evening, after a particularly brutal argument, you packed your bags and walked out of his life, leaving behind the man you loved and the dreams you had built together.
Fast forward to 2024. Your career at Ferrari flourished, and you buried yourself in work to forget the heartache. But fate, or maybe Lewis has a cruel sense of humor. The announcement came out of the blue: Lewis Hamilton was joining Ferrari for the 2025 season.
The paddock buzzed with the news, but for you, it was a gut punch. The thought of working with him again, seeing him every day, was almost unbearable. But you were a professional, and you wouldn't let personal history affect your work.
The first meeting was awkward, to say the least. You avoided eye contact, focusing on the technical briefing, the strategies for the upcoming season. But you could feel his eyes on you, a silent plea for acknowledgment.
Days turned into weeks, and the tension simmered. It all came to a head one evening after a particularly long day at the track. You were in the garage, going over some data, when Lewis walked in.
“We need to talk,” he said, his voice low and strained.
You didn’t look up. “There’s nothing to talk about, Lewis. Let’s just do our jobs.”
He stepped closer, his presence impossible to ignore. “I’m sorry. For everything. I know I hurt you. I know I don’t deserve a second chance, but-”
You finally met his gaze, the familiar pain and longing in his eyes. “You might have won the races and championships, but you don't get my heart back.”
He flinched as if struck. “I know I can’t change the past, but I want to make things right. I miss you.”
The sincerity in his voice was unmistakable, but the wounds were too deep. “It’s too late, Lewis. We had our chance.”
He looked like he wanted to say more, but you turned away, focusing back on your work. The silence was heavy, laden with unspoken words and lingering regrets.
Working together was a constant reminder of what was and what could have been. Yet, slowly, a new dynamic formed. Professional respect replaced personal tension, and while the past remained a painful shadow, you both found a way to coexist.
Lewis never stopped trying to mend the rift. Little gestures, a coffee waiting at your desk, a supportive word during a tough day. But you held firm, guarding your heart against further hurt.
As the season progressed, Ferrari thrived. The collaboration between the engineers and drivers was seamless, and the team’s performance improved dramatically. There were moments, brief and fleeting, where you saw a glimpse of the man you had once loved, not the racing superstar, but the man who had shared his dreams and fears with you.
And in those moments, you wondered if, maybe someday, you could find it in your heart to forgive. But for now, you were content to focus on the present, the thrill of the race, and the drive to win.
Because in the world of motorsport, as in life, the winner takes it all. And you were determined to be a winner, with or without him.

The Evolution of Red Bull's YouTube: A Parasocial Deep Dive
To explain this insane media crit essay I accidentally started, I was wondering to myself why Formula One seems to have a lot of personality-driven social media promo content. Some people have commented that the drivers are marketed a lot like Kpop stars (or pop singers or influencers generally), where relatable media content builds up an audience that gets emotionally attached to the celebrity as a person, not just their work. I wanted to trace the roots of this style of content and see how it evolved, using Red Bull as a case study because of their current strong social media presence and my hypothesis that their status as an extreme sports sponsor assisted them in making content focused on individual athletes.
Abstract/ Summary: Red Bull's earliest videos in the early 2010s largely do not focus on the drivers as people and are mostly montage-type content with occasional formal interviews. Then, Daniel Ricciardo begins to treat the camera in a more friendly and casual way, giving himself a greater sense of relatability/ seeming more accessible to fans. Red Bull correspondingly begins to feature more silly and unscripted content, which intensifies once Verstappen joins the team and begins riffing off of Ricciardo. We see a growth in personality-focused and "challenge" type content with banter towards the end of Ricciardo's time at Red Bull, which continues with Gasly, Albon, and Perez and brings us to today. Currently, YouTube provides a seemingly casual and relatable look at the drivers, largely through humorous challenges, and feeds our expectations that drivers are accessible and come off as authentic to us as fans.
I started with Red Bull because they seem to have their social media content game on lock, with high budget and creative video challenges that also do a good job at showcasing the personalities of their drivers. I theorized that the reason they excelled at this social media marketing strategy was because Red Bull (the energy drink brand) sponsors a lot of extreme athletes, who are in solo sports or sports with very small teams-- thus, it would make sense for them to promote their sponsored athletes with personality-focused content. (This turned out to probably not be true, but we will get to that.)
Part (Multi Twenty) One: The Old Men
During this time period (early 2010s), any driver-focused videos are pretty short and often more focused on visually appealing montages. Mark Webber and or Sebastian Vettel will be filmed doing some fun activity and then maybe speaking to a reporter about the outing in a relatively polished, professional manner. The premise of these videos is similar to the content we see today-- ex. Seb shears a sheep, Mark and Seb have a beach filler episode-- but the way they are edited is much different. The drivers' interactions with each other are not included in the video, and there is not much focus on their personalities.
The most popular videos at this time are glossy stunt type content. There are also more quotidian things like simulator runs, news interviews, and track walks. Also some wacky highlights include a random pop music video and cringe parody martial arts short-- of which Vettel is in both, for some reason. But this disproves part of the hypothesis-- Red Bull did not start making personality focused content. Their experience as an extreme sports sponsor likely gave them experience in making stunt videos, but not content focused on driver personalities.
Part 2: 2 Dan, 2 Furious
The style of content doesn't immediately change when Ricciardo joins the team in 2014, beyond him getting roped into doing a bunch of travel vlogs, which are also more on the slick montage side even though he does get to crack some jokes at times. More cool stunts, more media interviews. When Daniil Kvyat arrives, the style of content shifts a little to focus more on the interactions between the two drivers, ex. the 2015 season preview and some shorts. There are also early inklings of the sillier modern content with some challenges and a sketch.
Then comes... the 2015 Christmas video, the first of many Red Bull Christmas videos. This one is unabashedly silly and also seems largely unscripted, representing a pretty clear break in content style. Crucially, we hear and see the drivers talking and interacting with EACH OTHER instead of just talking to a reporter off to the side, which is honestly a huge reason why today's silly driver content is so enjoyable and seems more authentic. Kvyat does a pretty traditional, scripted-sounding holiday greeting (which, fair enough, English isn't his first language and this is in line with most of the previous marketing videos), but Ricciardo is very casual and tells the camera among other things to have a "pimpin' good time"-- like a friend, rather than a formal acquaintance. Much more in line with today's style of content except it's shorter. However, this style is not initially popular, gaining only 34k views-- way less than stunt content from the same time like the F1 Car vs Rugby Team matchup that gets 2 million views.
Part 3: Rise of the Unserious Kings
By 2016, Ricciardo is very comfortable with the camera and being goofy, eventually with a smooth faced, slightly feral baby Verstappen in tow. The channel starts experimenting with silly short-form challenges that include some seemingly genuine reactions. In this travel video, they include clips with audio of Ricciardo joking around to people they meet, and Ricciardo even talks directly into the camera, saying he's not sure if he's supposed to say this, but pokes fun at himself for sweating with nerves over some air turbulence.
DANNY RIC IS POSSIBLY THE NEXUS BEING OF THIS STYLE OF CONTENT. (And the *pairing* of Ricciardo and Verstappen changed Red Bull media marketing, if not that of F1 teams in general.)
Ricciardo has begun not only relating directly to the camera, treating it as proxy for the fan viewer, but consciously trying to give it (and therefore us) an "unfiltered/ authentic" look into his own life and the lives of F1 drivers. He relates to the camera/viewer in a much more personal and friendly manner, acting like we are his friends and building that parasocial connection. Even in more conventional video types like explaining racing kit, Ricciardo is casual and humorous, a style that seems to garner lots of views for these videos (the racing kit one is at 1.5mil).
The previous more formal style of video, whether drivers talk to an offscreen interviewer or into the camera, gives us more distance-- treating viewers as strangers who should be treated with respect but are not owed intimacy. Ex. this short clip of Max in 2016 after his maiden win with Red Bull: he talks to the camera and speaks directly to fans, but in a more formal way. (Not saying this is bad! He's basically a kid and this is what most driver content was like up to this point. Besides, we as strangers do not necessarily deserve to know everything about a celebrity!)
Additionally, the pairing of Ricciardo and Verstappen seems to be a comedy gold mine. (How many clips of these two being chaotic have you seen?) Max may not seem quite as comfortable talking directly to the camera, which makes sense because it's kind of awkward. However, it's a lot less intimidating to be casual and silly to another flesh and blood person, merely in front of the camera-- especially if that person is Danny Ric who is going to give you material to riff off of. (Thus, why interactions between drivers are so generative of authentic-seeming, personality based content).
Max takes to the assignment of matching Ricciardo's energy with enthusiasm. Take, for example, the durian-opening challenge and the biking track tour (featuring Max making a bunch of silly vrooming noises as he speeds ahead of Daniel). The 2017 Christmas video shows how well Max and Daniel riff off each other, letting viewers see that Max has a silly personality as well ("Ki ki ki!!" "Aye aye aye!!" *Max dabs on the camera* *they throw fake food at each other and cackle*). During 2018, Red Bull starts solidifying the style of personality-focused challenge content that makes up much of their channel now, though it's interspersed between travel content without much talking and some more glossy stunt/ travel videos.
Part 4: A.D. (After Daniel)
After Daniel's departure, this challenge style continues with Gasly and then Albon. Red Bull also starts pulling in people from Toro Rosso to do crossover challenge episodes on location where they compete against each other, like much of today's videos on the Red Bull main channel. Ex. Albon and Kvyat face off against Verstappen and Gasly in a set of lumberjacking challenges in Canada, including a good bit of back and forth banter, which turns out to be a pretty popular video (1mil views).
Videos from Max and Alex's driver pairing era are almost entirely focused on their kind of chaotic interactions with each other. The challenges are higher production value but also silly in concept, such as the two designing their own custom box carts, allowing them to show off their artistic skills (or lack thereof) and name them stupid things. The 2019 Christmas video is also a gem. I haven't watched a ton of videos from this time, but it seems almost entirely absent of the the montages to background music or formal interview style from previous years. There is still of course some glossy stunt content, like the famed zero gravity pitstop.
And then covid! After which the content is split between the Oracle Red Bull Racing channel and the Red Bull main channel. The racing specific channel has the same news interviews and sim runs peppered with some more lowkey challenges and videos focusing on individual drivers, whereas the more famous high-effort and locationally themed videos are on the Red Bull main channel. (Ex. this 2021 Austria-themed video of Verstappen and Perez versus Gasly and Tsunoda partaking in many silly activities, including wearing lederhosen and boat racing, overseen by Red Bull's resident Darth Palpatine-esque figure Helmut Marko.)
Conclusion
Today's F1 promo content largely aims to give viewers a more goofy and "unfiltered" idea of what the drivers are like as people, allowing people to get more attached to specific drivers and form parasocial connections with them. Yet it was not always so! We don't start seeing more dialogue-heavy videos that strive to provide a more casual and "authentic" look into the Red Bull drivers until midway through Daniel Ricciardo's career as he starts treating the camera like a friend, seemingly giving us backstage access to what the drivers are "really" like. Through a more casual style of speaking to viewers and a focus on interactions between drivers, Red Bull social media is able to provide an avenue for drivers to show a more casual and relatable side to themselves.
Red Bull's previous focus on highflying stunts, travel montages, and limited or formal instances of driver dialogue portray the drivers as larger-than-life badasses who live big and ultimately unknowable lives to us commoners. This newer, more intimate style of video tries to do the opposite-- yes, the drivers live these crazy lives, but they put their pants (or racing suits) on one leg at a time too! They are unserious and relatable and (seemingly) knowable to us, allowing us normal people to get attached to them. You must first be known in order to be loved, and if fans love your drivers, it's good for business!
This shift largely seems to mirror the decline of celebrity mystique and the rise of celebrity relatability. Ex. Beyonce's been famous since the 90s and is (as is her right) private about her personal life, which in part fuels her idol status but also is frustrating to some of her fans. Meanwhile, younger celebrities like Selena Gomez or Emma Chamberlain built their brand off of being chronically online and (seemingly) unfiltered.
Future directions of study-- comparing other teams' channels. Danny Ric may have been partially to blame for Red Bull's shift in content, but I would like to do a deep dive into other teams as well.
Note: I put "authentic," "real," etc in quotes because at the end of the day, we are still strangers seeing a piece of media and do not actually know what public figures are actually like as people! Also disclaimer, I'm not really a fan of Red Bull as an institution given their questionable response to Christian Horner's misconduct allegations-- this investigation is more out of them being a good case study.

i've been thinking a lot about a jjk hunger games au... gonna add content warnings just in case
cw: mentions of sex work, implications of noncon/trafficking, references to gore, canon typical violence and discussions for hunger games stuff
if satoru were a victor in the hunger games, he'd be a capitol darling. he'd be so adored and so admired. he's so handsome, so charismatic, that even some folks in one and two find him completely captivating.
he's a career from district four, who won his games with all the savvy of someone who was born to do it. when he volunteered, there was very little doubt that he was the most promising tribute. strong and surly. 18 years old with a long, lithe body and smile that screamed winner.
so of course he had sponsors and allies. of course he was highly sought after by the other careers. his district partner, a pretty person with a quiet and stoic disposition, was simultaneously proud of him and deeply threatened. they'd trained in the same class and she knew what he was capable of. no one remembers her name anymore, they just remember that he hadn't killed her. he'd spared her from what he could until someone else took her from this world.
it seemed that after she passed, satoru flipped a switch. that was it. the games would end and he'd come out on top.
after his victory, satoru had all the wealth he could need. no family anymore, hardly any friends save for the other victors, but money and wealth beyond what he'd ever imagined. it was dazzling even for him and his district was better off than most. career districts tend to be.
he disconnects from the world, lets snow sell his body and keeps playing the game. that's all there is left to do. to just keep playing. fame isn't all he thought it would be and satoru realizes now that he was too naive in volunteering. he dreamed of a kind of glory that doesn't exist and with every passing year, he grows more and more bitter internally of the kids after him who make the same mistakes.
then, three years after his games, an 18 year old from district 7 miraculously wins. you're an underdog, an unexpected victor from an outlying district with little to no chance of winning. but you did.
satoru meets you on your victory tour, when the fear of the arena hasn't fully worn off, and he's struck by the quiet stoicism you have within you. you're sweet, but with a bitter edge, given to you by your district and the unlucky hand dealt to you. he finds himself a bit in awe.
he thinks you hate him at first. satoru gets the impression that you hate him so much that you can hardly stomach being around him. it isn't until he pulls you to the side and warns you about what comes next, that you start to humanize him. that defensive glint wavers for a moment, leaving nothing but a pretty person with an unlucky lot in life. he's not sure why he warns you, but he does. he feels some sort of kinship with you. you've endured something similar, felt the same fear he felt, and you don't revel in it. instead, you quietly chew up the hand dealt to you and spit it out, something he never thought he could do.
satoru, a victor from district four with nothing left in this world, is awestruck by the idea that he can love someone this much. suddenly, it's not just about playing their game, it's about winning it. just surviving isn't enough anymore. with you in the equation, he needs to thrive.

Good morning, Decelis!
The first term is almost over, and I’m really glad all the tea is piping hot to keep us warm through the winter.
XO, Miss Decelis
It was time.
The conversation the four boys feared had to be had. Especially when Heeseung kept trying to corner you in the school’s hallways while you pretended he didn’t exist, and Jake could not keep his hands off you with overly excessive PDA. Jay was your friend, but he kept looking for you in any room he entered, the single night you spent together still playing in his mind and haunting his dreams because that was all he got — he was nothing but a casual fuck to you, one and done, and it was still all his fault.
Sunghoon had been observing his friends for a while. He could see all of them become more pathetic as time went on. But it was natural, when you began hanging out with them, and neither Heeseung or Jay cursed you out for it — instead, they sought your presence.
The thing was, Sunghoon had most of his information from Jake since Heeseung and Jay kept mostly quiet. But he knew basically everything, the filthy details beyond Miss Decelis gossip. You shared everything with Jake. Despite not being in a relationship, you were honest with him about all the things that went on in your life. So it was a known fact to them that you slept with Jay. That Heeseung was still trying.
And Sunghoon wanted to laugh, remembering their silly promise that was now being stomped upon as if it never happened because his friends were idiots.
Not to mention those dumb as hell rules they had around you when they were freshmen. Jesus Christ.
They were idiots who were always obsessed with you.
But Sunghoon understood why. Way before he met them, he knew the charm you had was enchanting. Like a lady spider creating a thin yet durable web around them, meant to ensnare and never let go.
This was you.
Not a random girl the four of them met at parties and hooked up with (at different times, obviously). You had been in their lives for years.
Sunghoon had known you since he was twelve, probably. He didn’t remember the exact date when he met you, but you were both children back then. You were taller than him back then, too, if he remembered correctly. He was a figure skating prodigy, and you were the daughter who had to tag along because there was nobody to look after you on the weekends.
You had an ability to make Sunghoon not feel alone whenever he saw you back then. You always played around with him while other kids were apprehensive. You also didn’t see him as competition, so being his friend was normal.
Then your father applied him to Decelis Academy for high school with a letter of recommendation, adding that he would cover any expenses necessary for Sunghoon’s studies while the school would have a national champion as its representative. Which was how you ended up introducing him to Heeseung, Jay and Jake.
Even though you didn’t speak to them and they mainly ignored you, you made sure to bring Sunghoon to them on your tour. You greeted Jake amiably enough and then you introduced Sunghoon saying that you thought they’d get along well.
And they did.
Especially Sunghoon and Jake. They clicked instantly.
You were the force that connected them, and now you had enough power to pull them apart as well.
So they really needed to talk.
Well, not Sunghoon, not really anyway, but he was convinced it was the better thing for them all.
So when Sunghoon finally got to the boys’ favourite hangout spot after figure skating practice, he clasped his hands together.
“Y/N,” he said as he sat down, looking at each of his friends to begin the conversation as if it were a business meeting. No beating around the bush. Just a proper conversation between friends who liked the same girl. “We gotta stop avoiding the topic,” Sunghoon sighed and ran a hand through his hair.
“No clue what you’re talking about,” Jay mumbled demurely after the mention of your name.
Jake already knew what Sunghoon was thinking. The two practically shared one brain cell, so he simply glanced at the figure skater with a gaze that said: “Not you too,” but then he nodded because Sunghoon’s gaze replied with, “Are you really surprised?”
“I didn’t do anything though,” he added out loud, so Heeseung and Jay could understand at least a part of the mental conversation. “But the three of you are pissing me off.” He shrugged.
“You like Y/N but you’re a dick.” He pointed at Heeseung with honesty that made the aforementioned boy flinch. “You like Y/N but you missed every chance you did have.” Sunghoon turned to Jay, earning a nasty glare. “And you’re all good but these two seem like even bigger losers,” he said to Jake, who grinned in response.
“Shut up. Y/N’s just pretending she doesn’t want me,” Heeseung said confidently, and Jake snorted.
“He’s lost it,” Jake claimed. “Heeseung being delusional is a rare occurrence. I need to savour this moment.”
“I know she wants me,” said Jay, and to this, Jake couldn’t entirely say no. You had slept with him once, you could do it again. Though you haven’t.
And Jake realised that it really didn’t matter to him because, at the end of the day, you always came back to him. You could destroy him, tear his heart into pieces, and he’d still crawl on gravel just for you. That’s how bad it was for him, and he couldn’t fault his friends for feeling the same way.
They were one. Even if they were each vastly different. This group of friends was created through fate. Connected together, and likely with a string that began with Y and ended with OU.
If it wasn’t for you, Heeseung would never befriend Jay and Jake, no matter how awful his reasons were. And if it weren’t for you, Sunghoon would never be introduced to them.
You put them together, and they had to stay that way.
Sunghoon bit his lower lip. Did you at least view him as a friend? He could never speak to you properly these days.
“Look,” Jake spoke up, shaking his head. In his mind, he was a selfish bastard who wanted to keep you all to himself, but these were his friends, and he loved them too. They were not going to fight each other over you. They’d rather avoid it, no matter how unhealthy the lack of confrontation might be. “As long as we don’t have a repeat of Bin from last year, I think we’re good.”
Bin was a girl they all liked enough to want to be with, and it seemed she liked them back. But when the gossip about them spread through school like wildfire, she could not handle that.
You were the centre of Miss Decelis for years. (Jay kept true to his word and told no one about your secret.) The last thing you would care about was people whispering about you being with all of them at once.
If you agreed to it.
Sunghoon hadn’t even begun properly speaking to you yet.
“Y/N is different,” Jay affirmed. And while each of the boys wanted to have you for themselves, they knew that unless you chose one of them specifically, all of them still had a chance.
A laugh bubbled up in Heeseung’s chest. “Have you guys ever noticed that the five of us are basically the centre of Miss Decelis? Even if she talks about others, we probably racked up the highest mention count.”
Jay ran a hand through his hair as the only one who knew why. He grinned with feigned nonchalance. “Our lives are clearly the most interesting among the other Decelis losers.”
“Mean,” Jake said and shook his head. “I didn’t have that many mentions until…” you, he wanted to say, but didn’t. The message was clear regardless.
“‘Cause you’re boring.” Heeseung rolled his eyes playfully. “Y/N makes you more fun… which is not something I thought I’d ever say.”
“You’re down bad for her, buddy,” Sunghoon sighed and patted his friend’s shoulder sympathetically. But at least he got to be with you.
Jay didn’t touch another woman in weeks because of you, and Heeseung couldn’t stay still without having his dick wet since he couldn’t have you. Each of them dealt with their feelings differently, and Sunghoon just didn’t have any time because he’d been training for an upcoming national competition.
One that you would be at because you said so. You and your father would both be there to watch him perform. So he needed to be at his best. Not just to win, but to prove himself to your family once more, to make sure he wouldn’t be abandoned and thrown to the streets (which would not happen).
“Realistically, the centre has always been Y/N and the two of us,” Heeseung said, pointing at himself and Jay. “Do you think we ever did something to this girl? Who even is she? And why attack Y/N when… you know.”
“I guess it’s just some slighted petty bitch,” Jay replied as if he didn’t know the truth and shrugged. “Maybe it’s someone from our childhood that all three of us ignored back then.”
“But wouldn’t that also include me?” Jake added, a confused pout plastered on his lips. “Since I was always with you.”
Sunghoon nodded. He wasn’t as involved with the three guys when they were children, but Jake was right. If it was from childhood, even Jake would be included, right?
“Nah. You’re always too nice. To everyone. Especially Y/N. She was just pretending,” Jay reasoned. Because surely, the guys would believe that. “Maybe she was pissed at us and then accidentally took it out on some poor rando and now we got Miss Decelis on our ass.”
Heeseung chuckled. “I’d like to see that. Pissed Y/N has to look hot as fuck.”
“She’s more cute when she’s pissed,” Jay spoke absentmindedly, and the three guys glanced at him with question marks behind their eyes. “What? Haven’t any of you pissed her off yet? Just me?”
“I don’t talk to her much,” Sunghoon said plainly.
“Do I look like I could piss Y/N off?” Jake questioned with a raised brow.
“She just ignores me unless I literally beg for a restraining order. I wish she would at least get angry at me.” Heeseung scoffed, running a hand through his hair.
“I’m actually surprised you don’t have one yet,” Sunghoon thought aloud, and Jake laughed, fist-bumping the figure skater.
Heeseung glared at both, but it was light-hearted. “Whatever.”
Look. You were not supposed to tag along to the ice rink with your father. But it had been a while since you saw Sunghoon ice skate, and you always loved to appreciate him from a distance. He was the unreachable ice prince wherever he went, and that whole image fascinated you.
But his figure skating was beautiful. He would always get lost in his choreography and his movements. Every detail mattered, from head to toe. The smallest movements of his fingers were perfectly controlled, too.
You watched him in silence while your father spoke to his trainer on the side, both of them speaking about the plans for the upcoming national competition.
Sunghoon was already training, going through the same exact training session he must’ve for the past month or more. He barely had any time due to it all, and so you barely saw him outside of school — not that you two spoke anyway. But you liked catching glances of him. Hearing his voice every now and then.
He was your friend before you introduced him to the other guys. You knew that it would create a rift between you, but you also knew that he would be much better off with Jake than you. It was just something about the both of them that made you think they were destined to be friends.
Now, this was the longest you got to be around Sunghoon.
He didn’t notice you as you sat on the bleachers, smiling to yourself because you liked to watch him grinning from ear to ear as he did the thing he loved most — figure skating. He was lucky enough that it had the possibility of giving him a career that would secure his life for decades to come.
Even then, when you two were children, Sunghoon mentioned he also considered getting into acting one day. Which would be amazing. Especially with a face like his, he could be as popular as Song Kang or Cha Eunwoo.
When the set was over, you started clapping. Initially, you didn’t want to announce your presence to the boy, but you couldn’t help it. He was too good not to show your appreciation of his talent. And then there was that small, proud little smirk on his face when he was done, knowing he did well.
He startled slightly, glancing toward you. Eyes widening even more, you knew he wondered why you were here, watching him. So you smiled and waved to beckon him over like you two were fourteen again and your father was just settling the Decelis scholarship with Sunghoon’s parents.
“Y/N?” His full eyebrows arched as he gazed at you, and you grinned.
“Hello, Hoonie,” you greeted sweetly. “It’s been a while.” You didn’t mean generally seeing him or talking to him. Watching him figure skate — the last time you had done that was a year ago. It was a competition (you went to every single one you could).
“Yeah.” He nodded, confusion lacing his every movement even as he ran a hand through his hair to push it out of his eyes. “Is there a reason why—”
“I just wanted to see you,” you spoke frankly, shrugging. “Do you remember the last time we were here like this?”
“We were fourteen,” Sunghoon said, chuckling. “But yeah. I do.” How could he forget? It was the day you admitted you didn’t know how to ice skate, so Sunghoon decided to teach you a bit. And once it was all over, you somehow ended up talking about how another thing you’ve never done was kiss a boy.
If Sunghoon hadn’t been a coward, he could’ve kissed you then. But he didn’t. And sometimes he still thought about it and regretted that moment.
“A lot has changed since then,” you said, reminiscing. Four years could be compared to a whole century when you’re a teenager.
Sunghoon hummed in agreement. “Are you better at ice skating?” he asked.
“Much.” You grinned proudly.
And Sunghoon didn’t need to ask about the kissing. He already knew the answer to that. Sighing internally, he sometimes wished he could go back and be the first boy you ever kissed. But he couldn’t travel in time, so he was stuck here. The two of you at eighteen, barely speaking together.
“Would you maybe… want to hang out after my practice is done?” he asked cautiously, expecting a rejection to protect himself from being hurt. “If you’re planning to stay here that long, of course.”
You smiled softly, nodding. “I am. I missed watching you figure skate. You’re constantly getting better,” you praised his skill. “We could go to that waffle place my dad used to take us to after your practice.”
“Yeah… that sounds good.” Sunghoon nodded, cursing himself for not being a better friend to you. But he had been scared of what could happen if he did. Maybe he’d have noticed there was something wrong in the years coming up to the moment that changed the trajectory of all their lives.
Maybe if he noticed and put a stop to it himself, Heeseung and Jay would still dislike you, Jake would still fear talking to you, and Sunghoon would have you all to himself. But a string of completely different decisions led to the moment of you and him right here, right now, trying to build a bridge over the canyon you had created to help him find friends — better friends than you thought you were.
Now it would be up to you both whether said bridge would be the most unstable, made out of thin ropes and wooden planks, or if you’d opt for one made of stone and cement.
You were with Jake when Sunghoon approached you the next time. The two of you were working on a project for English class, and Sunghoon found it as the perfect opportunity to use his inability to learn English as an excuse to spend time with you.
Which you didn’t mind in the slightest. You loved English, and you were happy to explain anything Sunghoon was struggling with while Jake nodded along with a spark in his eye as he gazed at you. There was a different kind of calmness to you when you could delve into a topic you were knowledgeable about.
“Future perfect tense is not that used, to be honest,” you said, to make Sunghoon feel better. “Nobody casually says sentences like I will have gone home by the time you finish practice.”
“I still want to be better,” Sunghoon sighed, running a hand through his hair. “I just feel so lost whenever I travel abroad for figure skating competitions.”
You bit the inside of your cheek, glancing at Jake to silently ask whether Sunghoon ever shared this information with him. Jake’s shake of his head was small.
“I can tutor you, Hoon,” you said with a soft smile. Because to you, Sunghoon was still your friend, even if you barely spoke. “I have less extracurriculars than Jake does, so I have the time. I don’t mind it.”
“Are you sure, Y/N?”
“No, of course not. I’m offering because I don’t want to do it,” you said, rolling your eyes playfully. “Just say if you want me to tutor you or not. It’s on you. We can meet almost whenever you have free time.”
Jake nudged Sunghoon’s shoulder with a supportive grin. “C’mon, you need it, bro.”
“Okay. Yeah. Sure. We can do it. I just have a lot of—”
“Training, I know.” You nodded, biting your lip. “But we’ll figure something out, it’s fine. I can just… pick you up after your practices or something.”
Good morning, Decelis!
It seems our ice prince is not so icy after all. He’s been caught laughing with the one and only Y/N as they exited the ice rink yesterday.
Are you all thinking what I’m thinking?
XO, Miss Decelis
“Go on a date with me.”
You startled, looking up at the boy who just approached you in the corridor. You were just trying to get your textbooks, but he closed your locker right in front of your face to get your attention, staring at you pleadingly with his hands hidden in his pockets.
“What?” you asked, tilting your head to the side. “What are you talking about?”
“Go on a date with me,” he repeated slowly, ready to spell it out for you.
You laughed. “Jay–”
“I’m serious, Y/N,” he said, running a hand through his perfectly styled dark hair. Today, it was slightly falling on his forehead, and he had to constantly push the hair out of his eyes. “Go on a date with me. Please.”
“I don’t really have time—”
“Sunghoon will survive if you miss one tutoring session, trust me.” Because of course, Jay already knew your schedule — hopefully from Sunghoon. “Please,” he kept begging, staring at you as if his whole life depended on you saying yes. And a part of you wanted to say yes, that part of you that used to have a crush on him, but you two just made peace and became friends.
“This is ridiculous, Jay,” you scoffed, shaking your head. “You don’t actually like me. What happened last time was just— I don’t know, but you don’t want me, and I’m doing fine with Ja—”
“Don’t say that,” Jay cut you off. “Don’t say his name when I’m trying to ask you out. Besides, you don’t know how I feel, so why do you keep assuming?” He ran a hand through his hair again, clenching his jaw. You watched him in confusion as frustration took over his features because he needed you to believe him.
“You are right. I don’t like you. How I feel about you is something way beyond that, and I hate the fact that I can’t look at you without thinking of that time, and that I keep replaying you saying that you used to like me in my head. So just do this one thing for me, please, because I feel like I’m going to lose my mind.”
Rendered speechless by Jay’s confession, you had a hard time coming up with a proper response. Park Jay had feelings for you?
“I swear to God, Y/N, I am going to drop on my knees and—”
“No, Jay, stop. I will go with you,” you said finally, to stop him from making you feel even worse (read: to stop him from making your heart beat loudly in your ears). You bit the inside of your cheek, your stomach tight with knots. “I will go with you,” you repeated, looking into Jay’s eyes.
“Really?” The hope in his voice made your body feel warm, and you nodded to further affirm your decision. You were going on a date with Park Jay.
“But after Sunghoon’s competition,” you said decidedly, pursing your lips. Jay was right. Sunghoon could miss one tutoring session, but you’d rather if he didn’t. After the competition, he’d have more time, and that way, you could both tutor Sunghoon and then go on a date with Jay.
Ultimately, Sunghoon’s tutoring sessions were just an excuse.
He knew.
You and Sunghoon only met up twice a week, so it was obvious that you used him as an excuse to not go on that date with Jay and postpone it for some time. He didn’t mind it, but he kind of enjoyed being the guy in the middle. Or maybe it was just the fact that you wanted to spend time with him, and not Jay.
He liked watching you as you scrunched your nose and furrowed your brows while staring at a textbook while trying to figure out the best and simplest way to explain something to him. He liked the way a tiny smile graced your lips once you came up with something and looked at Sunghoon with your big eyes. He liked the way you moved closer, leaned into him, and pointed at his notebook to start your explanation.
Maybe he should be listening to you as you tried to show him the ropes of creating sentences in passive voice and using them, but if he was completely honest, it went in through one ear, and out through the other. All he could do was stare at you and your side-profile and be in disbelief over how pretty you were.
He understood what Jake saw in you a bit too well. Sunghoon would want to kiss the earth you walked on, too, if he was in Jake’s position. But you didn’t seem interested in Sunghoon the way he wanted you to. Your smiles were always friendly, your gaze kind, but you did not look at him the way you regarded Jake. Not even the way you looked at Jay.
Sunghoon, to you, was just Sunghoon. The kid your father was sponsoring. And he hated it. Why did you, of all people, have to be immune to him?
“Are you spacing out again?” you asked softly. Your eyes were glued to Sunghoon’s face and he blankly stared ahead, though at first his attention was purely on you.
Gulping, Sunghoon shook his head. “Sorry. I just… can’t seem to focus today,” he made a half-assed apology, but you smiled and let him be. Your mind already had a proper excuse made up for him anyway.
“The competition is pretty close, huh? Must be nerve-racking,” you said, placing your hand over his. The squeeze was purely sympathetic, it meant nothing more — at least Sunghoon thought so — and when you didn’t let go, it momentarily short-circuited his brain. “You’ll do great, Hoon. I know you will. And I’ll be there with you the whole time as well.”
Sunghoon stared at you. He wished he could tell you how much he liked you, but he was afraid. He always had been afraid. At first his reasons were rather selfish because he didn’t want to lose your father’s support if things didn’t work out between you, but now… Now he feared your rejection even more than anything else in the world.
Not even the idea of losing the upcoming competition scared him as much.
“Thanks.” Sunghoon slightly pulled away from you for his own sanity, but you noticed the movement and a small frown graced your lips. Perhaps he even saw a flicker of hurt in your eyes, too.
“Okay, then,” you said, clearing your throat. “I’m sure you want to focus on your training more than English, so we can end today’s session early.”
Sunghoon blinked at you. He had hurt you without realising it, and now he didn’t know how to fix this without babbling out the thoughts that truly went through his head. He could do nothing as you stood up from your seat, packing your bag to leave the library.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, Hoon.”
Just like that, you left.
And Sunghoon hadn’t said a word to stop you.
An exasperated sigh left his lips once you were gone. He leaned back in his chair and ran a hand through his hair.
Why was it so hard for him to speak whenever you were around?
Sunghoon’s competition was happening a week after the new year. Nothing in between mattered much. The tutoring sessions came to a halt with the Christmas break, but Sunghoon and his family were still invited to the huge Christmas party that your parents organised. Obviously, the Lees had to show up, and so did Jake and Jay’s families. Nothing much happened except for Heeseung trying to talk to you while Jeonghyeon actively did everything in his power to keep his cousin away from you.
Then it was the Parks, Jay’s family, who organised a large New Year’s party where you spent the day surrounded by all four guys as they desperately fought for your attention. It was Heeseung who stole your New Year’s kiss as well, but you didn’t bother fighting him since Jeonghyeon, Jay and Jake’s glares were scathing enough.
So now you sat inside the packed stadium filled with figure skating fans and many girls from Decelis Academy as they held huge pickets and flags with Sunghoon’s face plastered on them as if he were an idol, cheering for him. You had to bite back your smile as you watched Sunghoon cringe the moment he stepped on the ice and the girls began squealing.
You watched him prepare, doing practice laps and some figures as he tested himself on the ice. It took a few minutes for him to finally settle in the centre, eyes fixating on you in his starting position.
He whispered, “Wish me luck,” and winked at you, which could’ve gone unnoticed had you not been captivated by him the whole time. Gulping, you licked your lips and nodded.
You recognised the song that started playing from the many practices you had visited simply because you wanted to. Because you could. A soft melody of a song he chose, called Moonstruck. His figure was impeccable.
The moment he started moving, the whole stadium silenced. There was nothing else but Park Sunghoon and the rink that he danced on, every movement graceful and meticulous from his toes to his fingers. Every detail mattered even if he was merely spreading his arms. His body followed the rhythm, and you understood what your father had seen in him all those years ago when he chose to take the small boy under his wing and help him become better at figure skating.
The applause that followed was deafening. But you couldn’t bring yourself to move as you saw him bow after the song ended. Even as he made his way toward his mother from the ice. Even as he, eventually, approached you and your father to head toward the chairs with the other contestants, waiting for his score.
It was high. Highest of the day so far, but there were still some contestants left, so it couldn’t be definitively said that Sunghoon won.
You chewed on your lip as you watched him, nervosity coursing through your veins. Sunghoon deserved to be first place. Even your father seemed to think so with the huge grin on his lips as he regarded Sunghoon with immense pride.
And, an hour later, you were indeed running to him to throw your arms around his shoulders for winning gold. Sunghoon was smiling widely. His parents were elated. So was your father. The success meant a huge door had opened for Park Sunghoon, the figure skating prodigy. But you only cared about him.
Jumping into his arms, you tightly wrapped your arms around his neck. “Congratulations, Hoon! You did it! You’re a national champion,” you spoke into his shoulders while the boy held onto your waist, keeping your body in the air.
“I knew you could do it.” You pulled away from him with a smile, still holding onto his arms. And Sunghoon stared at you, in the intense kind of way that you never saw him do before. “Hoon?” you asked, worrying if he spaces out again.
“It’s because of you.” He slapped away your concern with a lopsided grin, his eyes never leaving yours. “I wanted to do my best for you,” he mumbled softly, and you tilted your head to the side.
“Why would you—”
But Sunghoon cupped both your cheeks by then, planting his lips on yours. A collective gasp went through the crowd within the stadium as they saw you. Not just on the podium, but also on the huge screen as there had been a camera on Sunghoon the whole time.
“I really, really like you, Y/N,” he said after he pulled away, and your eyes widened. Everything was captured on camera.
You couldn’t exactly say you didn’t like him back, though. It would be a lie to say that Sunghoon didn’t have an ability to make your heart flutter. You liked him a lot. But you also liked Jake… and Jay wanted to take you on a date. And Heeseung — well, you hated how often you tended to think about him, too.
“I—”
“Erm.” You recognised your father’s voice from behind. Turning to face him, your cheeks burned. Sunghoon didn’t just kiss you in front of a whole stadium — he kissed you in front of your father.
Fuck.
His arms were crossed, and you stepped in front of Sunghoon just in case your father were to berate him.
A smile spread across his lips instead, though.
“I already considered you a part of the family, Sunghoon, but this is a truly pleasant surprise,” he said, grinning at you and the figure skater. “Although I expect Jay’s and Jake’s parents will be very disappointed to know. They were rooting for their sons.”
You glanced at Sunghoon but he didn’t bat an eye. Instead, he smiled even brighter, his eyes and nose scrunching in the most adorable way possible.
“So you don’t… disapprove of me dating?” you asked your father, raising a brow.
The man chuckled and shook his head. “Why would I, Y/N? Your mother and I just want you to be happy, and we know that Sunghoon is a good boy. I support it,” he said, patting the top of your head affectionately.
“You’re serious?”
“Very,” your father agreed. “Now come, your boyfriend has to do some interviews and get some photos before we all leave to celebrate the victory and the amazing news.”
“O-okay,” you stuttered, your eyes latching onto Sunghoon. He smiled and took your hand in his.
“Well, girlfriend, will you follow me?” he said rather jokingly, but to everyone around you, that seemed to be the new reality.
Park Sunghoon was now proclaimed your official boyfriend.
Good morning, Decelis!
Surprise, surprise! It’s our princess and the ice prince, after all. A fitting pair, I’d say. I wonder what happened during the winter holidays?
XO, Miss Decelis
“Do you ever take a break?” Jay approached you, glancing between you and his phone. “Do you still need to keep this up?”
You shrugged in response, already aware of what he was talking about. “I like it. There’s just something about messing with other people’s business that’s quite freeing,” you said, grinning.
Jay rolled his eyes. “And yet you keep writing about our business.”
“Is it really that bad if I haven’t said anything negative?” You pursed your lips, tilting your head to the side with your eyes fixed on Jay. “I haven’t badmouthed you in ages.”
The pout your lips formed made Jay glare at you light-heartedly, and you giggled.
“Good. Cause this would be hella awkward if you did.” Jay pointed at himself and you. Because, yeah, he was taking you out on a date. Despite your ‘relationship’ with Sunghoon.
The guys were doing whatever they wanted. So were you. And between the five of you, your description of a relationship status was a venn diagram with you in the middle.
You pushed Jay’s chest with a roll of your eyes. “So, where are you taking me?” you asked, and the boy grinned.
“Somewhere you’ll like,” he said before examining your fit. It was casual, but not too casual to make him assume that you didn’t care. You wore a long-sleeved white dress speckled with blue flowers, and a black winter coat to keep you warm in the freezing weather.
He, as usual, wore loose black jeans, a black shirt and coat, looking like the heir of a million dollar company — which he was. His cologne was different today, but you liked it regardless. Perhaps Killian?
When you made your way to his car, he opened the door for you before getting in himself. You grinned at his gentlemanly antics, but he said nothing — as if it was completely normal and expected of everyone. Perhaps to him, it was.
Nothing was said between either of you when Jay drove. Music played softly from the radio, but neither of you dared to break the silence. Between the two of you, it wasn’t necessary to speak. In that way, he was similar to Sunghoon (and occasionally Jake, but Jake usually loved chatting with you about random things).
Jay spoke up only when you were almost at your destination.
“So, a little background information,” he said with a chuckle, the car nearing a parking lot. “You know how my house is eery and lonely whenever it’s just me there?”
You scoffed. “How could I forget?”
“Well.” Jay glanced at you, a corner of his lips lifting in a soft smile. “My parents agreed to let me get a pet. And I was thinking of getting a cat.”
“What?” You turned to face him, but Jay was already parking in front of an animal shelter, grinning. “You want to adopt a cat?”
“Yep.” Jay nodded. “And I want you to choose which one.”
“Jay…” This was a pet that would be with him for as long as it lived, and you weren’t sure if you making the choice of which cat it should be was a smart decision. The cat should like him first.
“I trust you. Besides, if it’s a cat that likes you, then I’m most definitely going to like that cat.” He grinned. “Because it’ll have great taste.”
“Jay.” Your cheeks heated up at the comment, shaking your head.
“You know that’s also why I disliked you so much before?” He chuckled, shaking his head as he reminisced of his younger self. “Because you were so stupidly pretty and my parents were obsessed with you and everything about you. It just… annoyed me.” He parked the car, running a hand through his hair as he turned the ignition off. “And now that you’re not pretending and are finally yourself, it makes you even more attractive.”
You giggled. You didn’t know what took over you in that moment, but you giggled, hearing Jay call you attractive. “Stop.” You tried to lightly slap Jay’s shoulder, but he caught your hand, intertwining your fingers.
“I’m serious, Y/N. So yes, I want your help choosing the cat that will live in my home because hopefully it will make you want to come over more often.”
There was that sly smirk you would expect from Park Jay, and you rolled your eyes. “What makes you so sure I even like cats?”
“Everything about you screams cat lover, darling. Don’t play dumb.” Jay stared into your eyes, and you couldn’t look away as his dark gaze pierced through you. “C’mon, let’s go get a cat,” he said with a smile.
Jay opened the door of the car for you, and then he held open the door inside the animal shelter as well. The smell of animals hit your senses like a truck, but not necessarily in a bad way. You just weren’t used to this many animals in one place.
Seeing them in their enclosures, you had the urge to adopt every single pet in the shelter, but you couldn’t do that. Instead, you glanced at Jay, who pointed toward the cats. Not many words were exchanged between the two of you as you walked, each of you examining the cats with soft smiles on your faces.
Though there was one in particular that caught your attention. A black cat continued staring at you as you moved across the shelter, and you couldn’t help but feel a pull toward her.
A black cat would be such a perfect choice for Jay. You knew it.
Tapping his shoulder, you grinned and pointed toward the enclosure. “I like that one,” you said, immediately going to her.
You dared to stretch out your hand for the cat, waiting for a reaction. She stretched her body and walked toward your hand with a low meow before leaning into your hand, begging you to pet her.
An even bigger smile broke out on your lips. “Hello, little one,” you whispered, scratching her ears. “How long have you been here?” you asked.
“Three months,” Jay responded from behind you, reading a sign by the enclosure. “Her name is Byeori.”
The cat looked at Jay when she heard her name spoken out loud, and she meowed again, this time to get Jay’s attention to be on her.
He joined your side to try and befriend the cat himself, and she did not fight him in the slightest. As if sensing what kind of person Jay was, the cat let him pet her, purring.
“She has good taste,” Jay chuckled, glancing at you. “I think she chose you first.”
You bumped his shoulder with yours, giggling. “So we’re taking her home, right?”
“To my home, yes, I think we are.” Jay nodded.
Heeseung was desperate.
He didn’t know why he stood in front of the door to your home all on his own.
You seemed happy with whatever you had with Jay, Jake and Sunghoon. But he wanted to be a part of it. If there was one thing Heeseung hated, it was being left out. He understood how he must’ve made you feel in the past now.
It was a horrendous feeling. One that clawed on your insides, coating your skin and never quite letting go. You had all of his friends now wrapped around your fingers and he… he also couldn’t stop thinking about you.
When you opened the door, you wore sweatpants and an oversized t-shirt. Glasses loosely hung on your nose, and your hair was tied in a simple knot to keep your hair out of your eyes.
This was the version of you he was familiar with. A remainder of the old you that would never disappear. Somehow, Heeseung appreciated it even more than the new you.
“What?”
“Is anyone—”
“No, my parents are at work, why—”
“Okay.” Heeseung slipped inside past you, closing the door behind himself. Your eyebrow rose as you eyed him.
“Heeseung, what—”
“I’m sorry,” he said.
Your mouth practically dropped to the ground the second he fell to his knees with his head hung low, repeating the words: “I’m sorry, Y/N.”
“Hee—”
“I’m sorry for treating you like the biggest asshole known to man when we were younger.” Heeseung didn’t let you interrupt, looking up at you through those big Bambi eyes of his. “I’m sorry for making you feel unwanted, and for leaving you out of everything I could because I was a stupid kid. I’m really sorry.”
“Heeseung, what are you doing?”
“I want us to start over. To be better.” And he genuinely meant every word. He wasn’t sure why he cared so much all of a sudden, but he wanted you to be in his life as more than just the girl that ignores him whenever you’re in the same room. He had to make sure you would understand how truly deeply sorry he was and how much he wanted to start over.
You stared at him. Blinking a few times, you weren’t sure how to react at first. This was what you had wanted for a good part of your life. Heeseung wanting to be your friend. You did not expect him to beg for it on his knees, but it did bring you a twisted sense of satisfaction.
Besides the confusion, a lopsided grin spread across your lips. There was a strange allure to this Heeseung. Desperate just to be near you, and a part of you wanted to take advantage of it. But could you do it? What would that mean for you and Jake? Or Sunghoon? Or even Jay…
“Get up, Heeseung,” you said firmly, crossing your arms. “Get up before I do something really stupid, please.”
Those big eyes that stared at you through long lashes made your expression soften. But Heeseung heeded your command and stood up, towering over you once more. “Y/N—”
“We can start over,” you replied with a nod. “I can forgive you, I think. Over time.”
Sighing in relief, Heeseung nodded. “That’s all I need.”
Good morning, Decelis!
Did we all just collectively hallucinate, or did Y/N truly enter the school with all four of the Decelis heartthrobs by her side?
XO, Miss Decelis
“Jake— ah,” you moaned when he nipped at an especially sensitive spot on your neck. He found the time to come to the library with you before your tutoring session with Sunghoon, and you couldn’t deny him.
His hands were on your hips, pressing you against the wall of the library firmly, keeping you in place as his mouth roamed your skin. Your uniform’s blazer was already on the ground, and Jake let go of your hips just to undo the buttons of your shirt.
“I missed you,” he murmured, kissing the soft skin of your breasts where they were not covered by a bra.
He felt your chuckle vibrate through your chest. “Jakey, we haven’t seen each other for two hours,” you said.
Instead of responding, he hummed, going back up to capture your lips with his. There was a sort of desperation in the way he sucked on your lower lip before you allowed him full access to your mouth. Your hands tangled in his soft locks, and you pressed your body closer to his, to feel the bulge in his crotch on your stomach.
“I just need you,” Jake spoke against your lips, and the heat that spread through your body made you nearly combust. “You mean so much to me, Y/N. You have no idea.”
“And you mean a lot to me, too, Jake.” You pulled away from him for a bit, to look into his eyes. To let him know how serious you were. Jake had always been good to you, no matter your situation. And you cared for him deeply.
A tiny smile tugged at his lips as his eyes explored yours. He didn’t want to say it out loud, but knowing that you started talking to Heeseung made him strangely anxious. He liked to think he wasn’t jealous, but out of all the guys, Heeseung had always been the hardest to compete with. “You will always come back to me, right? No matter what happens?”
You nodded. “No matter what happens,” you agreed at the moment. But later, when you would think about this, it would scare you. Terrify you, in fact. Because you weren’t ready to think about what it meant.
Jake kissed you again, letting your hands do the work and unbuckle his belt. His trousers were off within seconds, and his hands roamed down your body to the wet panties underneath your skirt, grinning into the kiss.
It surprised you when Jake suddenly grabbed you by the thighs, lifting you from the ground, your back pressed against the wall as the only support for your body other than Jake. But he lined you up perfectly with his cock, letting you slowly take him in as his arms strained to keep you from falling.
His groan was music to your ears, the sensation of his length filling you up slowly rendering you silent, though you were used to his rougher ways by now, too.
“Fuck, Y/N, you’re so perfect,” Jake let you wrap your legs around his hips, his hands moving to your ass to have a proper grip on your body before he started moving.
“Jake, please,” you begged for him to do something now that he was fully inside you. “I need you.”
Jake buried his head into the crook of your neck. “I need you more,” he replied before pulling out and thrusting even deeper inside you as if it was possible.
You felt him in your stomach, in every bit of your body and in the marrow of your bones. Jake moved leisurely, but each thrust was powerful enough you felt like you would erupt any second.
“Jake, oh, fuck.” You bit your lip to be quieter, barely remembering that you two were still inside the public library, having sex in the section with prehistoric textbooks that nobody ever used. “It’s— so much.”
“You can take it,” he huffed out, focusing more on pleasuring you than anything else. “You’ve taken more.”
Yes, you have. But you were not inside a library before and didn’t need to be able to walk out of there. Nor did you need to get through a tutoring session afterwards.
The next powerful thrust made your head spin, pleasure tinged with pain as it seemed that Jake would not stop any time soon.
Your body went limp in his arms. “Jake. Jake. Jake,” you repeated his name, unable to finish the sentence you wanted to say.
You cummed around his cock, and he wasn’t far away, capturing your lips again to contain the moans that would otherwise leave his mouth as his semen filled you up. (You started taking birth control after Jake’s birthday.)
“I love you so much, Y/N,” he mumbled in a daze, and part of you wasn’t sure if you heard him correctly. But, to make it worse, he repeated the words: “I love you.”
You weren’t ready to hear that yet.
When Jake let go of you, you stared at him with your eyebrows furrowed and lips slightly parted. “Jake, you don’t know what you’re saying,” you claimed because people tend to say stupid things after sex, right? He wasn’t thinking clearly.
“That’s just how I feel about you, Y/N.” Jake shook his head, attempting to wrap his arms around you, but you didn’t let him, stepping back.
The single action made Jake’s movements stutter. His eyes searched yours with hurt written all over them, and you bit your lip. Your heart raced in your chest almost as fast as your thoughts.
“You don’t have to say it back. I just wanted to be honest with you,” said Jake in an attempt to salvage the situation, but it was too late. You were panicking. You cared about Jake, but did you love him? You couldn’t say.
And maybe it was the worst possible thing to do after a person confesses their love to you… but you ran. You fled as fast as you could, completely forgetting that you had a tutoring session afterward, or anything else whatsoever.
Sim Jake loved you.
But you were a fucking coward.
You haven’t been to school in days, claiming a mysterious illness that left you bedridden. Sunghoon had tried to ask Jake if he knew anything of your whereabouts as you seemingly didn’t reply to anyone. He tried asking Heeseung and Jay after he grew truly desperate, but to no avail. You weren’t responding to them, and Jake generally refused speaking about you.
Sunghoon didn’t know what happened between the two of you, but it had to be serious if Jake refused to tell him about it. You had been ignoring Sunghoon since the one tutoring session you stood him up on and never texted him back after he asked if you were okay.
All your friends claimed you were still alive, just not feeling well. Jeonghyeon and Ning were the only direct contacts anybody had to you.
Heeseung tried knocking on your door, but you never responded yourself. Usually, it was your parents, and they always had an apologetic kind of look that said you refused to see him. But, to be fair, apparently, Jeonghyeon hadn’t seen you in person in days either.
Despite knowing all this, Sunghoon wanted to try his luck. He knew that skipping school as a scholarship kid was the worst thing he could possibly do, but he needed to make sure you were okay. Everyone thought you were his girlfriend, and him knowing nothing of how you were doing drove him nuts.
The staff at the hotel let him pass easily, already familiar with him as both your father’s ward and Heeseung’s best friend. Sunghoon greeted them all with a polite bow and smile, rushing toward the elevators so they wouldn’t question why he wasn’t at school.
Getting to your floor came to Sunghoon automatically as he had been there countless times as a child, still remembering his excitement whenever his parents agreed to let him play with you while they were talking to your father. Those were probably his happiest moments as a child figure skater. Even if it was just the two of you playing hide and seek around the house.
He didn’t expect much when he rang the bell. Why, of all the people that came to visit you, would you open the door for him?
You did, though. In an oversized T-shirt and shorts, thick glasses hanging on the tip of your nose. The look on your face told him you were contemplating slamming the door in his face, so Sunghoon strategically put his foot on the doorstep, knowing you would never try to hurt him, especially to just close a door.
“Hi,” he said quietly.
“Hi,” you echoed. “Why aren’t you at school, Hoon?”
“I had to make sure you’re okay.” Sunghoon ran a hand through his hair, gazing at you. There was a sadness that laced your voice, and he noticed your eyes were red from crying. But judging by the movie playing in the background, Twentieth Century Girl, he guessed that was why.
You pressed your lips together and smiled. “I’m fine,” you sighed. “I’m just not ready.”
“Ready for what?”
You frowned. “Do you want to come inside?”
“Yeah. Sure.” Sunghoon nodded, slipping inside the hallway with your approval. Wordlessly, you led Sunghoon to the living room space, where the movie played on a large screen.
You had a whole set up of pillows and blankets on the sofa, so you sat down on the ground in front of it, patting the spot next to you.
When Sunghoon sat down, silence engulfed the both of you. You didn’t say anything and neither did he. You just watched the movie together as your head dropped to his shoulder, more tears making their way to your eyes despite the scenes being seemingly happy.
When you spoke up, Sunghoon didn’t know how to react at first. “You don’t really like me, right?” you said.
Sunghoon turned to face you, baffled by the question. “What do you mean?” He tilted his head to the side, in disbelief over the question. “Of course, I like you. I always have.”
“But not… not like that.” You pointed at the movie as if it was hard for you to explain in words.
“Yes, like that,” Sunghoon said firmly, shaking his head. He dared taking your hand in his and intertwining your fingers. “Since we were kids, Y/N. I was just… scared. Still am. What I did after I won the competition… I just wanted to be brave for once.”
You looked down at your legs, hugging your knees to your chest. “But—”
“I’m sorry for not showing you earlier. But it’s always been you. Even for Jake, I think.” Sunghoon shook his head and chuckled. “It’s actually what we initially bonded over, you know? Just… you.”
“Please, don’t.” You averted your gaze.
Sunghoon squeezed your hand, placing a soft kiss to the top of your head. “It’s such a weird thing for me to say but… we all like you. In our own ways, Y/N. Jake, me, Heeseung, Jay. In the end, it’s on you if you want any of us or all of us, really, but we’ll be here for you. No matter what happens.”
The phrase, no matter what happens, was what made you truly cry. Sunghoon had no clue what he did, but regardless, he wrapped his arms around your shoulders, letting you cry your heart out onto his shirt. He held you tightly, not letting go. He never wanted to let you go.
You had to go to school eventually.
With Jeonghyeon, Ning and Hanbin right by your side, you did everything you could to catch up on classes you’d missed, avoiding Jake as much as you could.
You missed him, but you weren’t quite sure how to deal with the knowledge of his feelings toward you. Could you accept it? Could there be something more? How did anyone even know if they were in love?
Attraction was one thing, but love…
Still, Jake was everywhere you went. Not just him, though. Sunghoon, Heeseung and Jay were with him, too. And it was difficult to ignore the stares all four boys gave you whenever you were in the same room.
“I think I fucked up,” you said to your friends during lunch, shaking your head. Realistically, you knew you fucked up. There was no other way of calling it. Because you slept with Jake, Jay, almost with Heeseung, and Sunghoon liked you.
It’s not a situation the younger you would ever imagine yourself in, but your resolution not to care about much has clearly gone awry. Maybe you should’ve cared.
“Yeah. I think telling Heeseung you could forgive him was a mistake, too,” Jeonghyeon replied automatically.
“Not what she meant,” said Ning knowingly, glancing toward the table with the four Decelis heartthrobs. “They all look like kicked puppies. It’s kinda sad.”
“Well, wouldn’t you be if you and all of your best friends liked the same girl?” Hanbin asked with a raised brow. “And she’s not doing anything much about it either.” He gave you a pointed look.
You sighed, playing with the ends of your hair. “What am I supposed to do?”
“Do you remember Bin from last year?” Ning asked, her eyes widening slightly when she remembered that you were not at Decelis during the time.
You did remember, however. As Miss Decelis, you remembered everything. You attacked the guys quite a bit during the time since all you had was anger — not even toward them. But from what you understood, it was Bin who broke off everything as she didn’t like the way the other Decelis students treated her.
“I read Miss Decelis,” you claimed falsely, a tense smile plastered on your lips.
“Right. Who didn’t.” Ning nodded, pursing her lips. “But this is kinda what they do, no? They get obsessed with one girl and then she’s the one who suffers. I think you should just… try to get out of that while you can.”
“But… they’re my friends,” you said quietly, incapable of letting it go. The younger you had always wanted to be able to say that. To call the four of them your friends. And now that it was true, how could you just throw it away?
“That you fucked.”
“Please, don’t say that,” Hanbin said, face contorted in disgust. “We don’t need to acknowledge it so openly.”
“I actually didn’t—”
“Yeah, yeah. Only Jake and Jay, actually, but it doesn’t change much. Remember that half the country thinks you’re dating Sunghoon and that the whole school has seen you with Heeseung?”
“Why do we have to talk about this again?” Jeonghyeon’s brow rose, his nose scrunched.
“Because I don’t know what to do,” you said.
“And we’re supposed to help you how?”
“By shutting up.” Ning glared at Jeonghyeon. “Y/N, babe, you’re thinking too much,” she said, grabbing your hands in hers. “Just do what feels right in your heart.”
You blinked at her, face blank. “The fuck is that supposed to mean?”
“I’m trying to be romantic here. You’re ruining it.”
“Well, that’s your first mistake.” Hanbin shook his head. “Trying to get Y/N to be a romantic.”
“Fine.” Ning rolled her eyes. “Who do you like spending time with the most? Like, who makes you feel giddy and excited to be with them, you know?”
Jake. That was the first answer that came to your mind. He always knew how to make you laugh. He made you feel special, and his teamwork was incomparable. But the more you thought about it, you realised you also loved to have Sunghoon by your side. He understood you so well. And Jay made you feel safe in a way you had never experienced before. He was always making sure that you would never get hurt, even if it was the smallest thing known to man, like stubbing your toe. Heeseung managed to make everything feel more exciting. He could make your heart race like no other.
“They all do,” you said, “in their own ways.”
Ning was speechless. Following your gaze toward the four boys that were conversing with one another, she let out a huff. “Then I can’t help you, girl. You need to talk to them yourself.”
“They’re all losers anyway.” Jeonghyeon rolled his eyes.
Hanbin chuckled, nudging the boy with his shoulder. “And you’re better how?”
“Well, first of all—” and Jeonghyeon continued to name all the reasons he considered himself better than his slightly older cousin because in reality, he cared for Heeseung as a brother. Sometimes, he just really could not stand him and how idiotic he could be.
“Are you sure this is okay?” Sunghoon asked for the millionth time today as the two of you sat in your bedroom with English textbooks spread over your floor. For reasons, you were still avoiding staying in the library for too long.
“Yes, Hoon, it’s okay. My parents aren’t gonna be home until later, so nobody cares. Calm down,” you replied for the third time (without exaggeration) within the span of fifteen minutes. “Unless you’re planning something other than studying, it’s totally fine.”
Sunghoon’s eyebrows furrowed. “I’m not—” he bit his lip, flustered by the remark. “Just because I said I like you— that’s not what— Y/N…”
“I’m joking, Sunghoon,” you said, a lopsided grin decorating your lips. “You can only get a kiss if you can get this exercise correctly.”
“Huh?” Sunghoon blinked swiftly and several times, gaping at you.
Teasing him was your new favourite activity. He was a confident fraud at school, you concluded, because the boy you knew was nothing like the Park Sunghoon from Decelis Academy that made it onto Miss Decelis many times before.
You started coming to peace with the fact that you truly liked each of the boys for different reasons. But you were most drawn toward Sunghoon and Jake. The two boys were the same in so many ways that they made you feel similar but different. And being with Sunghoon made missing Jake somewhat easier.
“Here.” You pointed at the empty worksheet in front of him. “If you can correctly fill it, you get one kiss.”
“Are you serious?”
You nodded. And, as proof, you leaned in to give Sunghoon the lightest peck on his lips. “Very serious.”
“I’m a genius,” he said, in English, grabbing the worksheet with newfound fervour that made you laugh.
Sunghoon grinned at you, a genuine toothy smile that was rare from him, and then he put all his focus on the work you gave him. His brows furrowed, and he bit his bottom lip in thought.
It took him ten minutes to fill every sentence, but he kept looking at you to gauge whether you approved of his answer or not. You could not bring yourself to scold him and make the judgement for himself. Especially because he did fill everything correctly.
Sunghoon chewed on his lip, glancing at you expectantly while pushing the finished worksheet toward you. The grin that made its way onto your face couldn’t be contained, merely because you were proud of his progress.
“You really are a genius,” you said.
“So… my kiss?” Sunghoon spoke eagerly, and you giggled.
Beckoning him closer with your index finger, you watched as Sunghoon scooted closer to you on the floor. He used his legs and arms to push all of the textbooks and papers you had spread out before out of the way. Biting his lower lip, he stared at you.
“Are you sure?” he questioned uncertainly.
You nodded.
”Can I kiss you?” he asked again because he wanted a verbal answer. “Use your words, Y/N.”
“Yes,” you whispered. “Yes, you can kiss me, Hoon.”
Smiling, Sunghoon cupped your cheek with one hand before leaning in and hungrily capturing your lips with his. It was a different kiss to the one you shared after he won the figure skating competition. This kiss felt real. Something both of you were doing consensually.
“I want you to be able to always talk to me,” he said in between small pecks, his lips moving to your neck. He bit at the tender skin, smirking when you whimpered. “Don’t ever hide from us, again, okay? No matter what happens, Y/N. We want to be here for you.”
“I—” you paused when you felt Sunghoon’s soft lips against your shoulder. “What if I can’t…” you began, grabbing Sunghoon’s cheeks to make him look into your eyes again. Both your pupils were blown wide as you stared at each other. “Jake—”
“Will still love you whether you choose just him or all of us,” Sunghoon finished for you, finally aware of what had transpired between you. “We’re just the pathetic bunch of guys who lost their minds over one girl. You’re the one who calls the shots.” He grinned, kissing you again, though with much more passion to show you just how much he meant his words.
Placing his hands on your hips, Sunghoon waited for your reaction. He waited for what you would do. And it pleased him when you moved even closer, your hands raking through his locks.
It was you who began unbuttoning his shirt, and it was you who let him pull your t-shirt over your head. He groaned when he saw you were not wearing a bra, your nipples hard in the cold air. He could not resist the temptation to palm your boobs, listening to the small breathy sounds that left your lips as if you were simply an instrument he was playing.
Sunghoon’s lips were stuck to yours, shifting only enough to allow you to sit on his lap, your bare stomach pressing against his clothed but very hard dick. There were thoughts he had that he could not share with you nor his friends, but Sunghoon was convinced it should’ve been him to take your virginity. It could’ve been him who took your first kiss, too, but he was an idiot.
He had regrets to make up for, and you sat right in his lap, ready for whatever was to come.
When he pulled away from you for a bit, it was to show you how sex-crazed his expression was. “On the bed, now,” he commanded, not giving you much space to object.
You thought he wanted you to lie down on your back, but the opposite surprised you. Sunghoon was the one to do so, his head hitting your pillows. “I want you to ride my face,” he said, and you blinked at him several times, processing his words.
“What—”
“Have you not— oh, you haven’t.” Sunghoon came to the conclusion himself, watching the lost expression on your face. He chuckled and licked his lips. “Take the rest of your clothes off, Y/N.” A command. Again.
You obeyed instantly.
Sunghoon bit his tongue, hissing at the sight of you. “Beautiful,” he murmured to himself before pulling you to him. ”Just kneel above my face, Y/N.”
“But isn’t that dange—” You felt so embarrassed over the fact you were still so inexperienced despite the time you had spent with Jake.
“You can’t hurt me,” Sunghoon said, determined to be right. At least he could have one of your firsts. Even if it was riding his face. “Trust yourself, and trust me.”
“Okay.” You chewed on your lower lip.
Your movements were slow, but Sunghoon’s hands were on your legs, holding them apart and positioning you above his face with a satisfied grin.
“Now sit. Let me taste you.” There was an edge to his voice that made it hard to question him. You did as you were told, a gasp instantly leaving your lips when you felt his tongue lap at your pussy, his nose hitting your clit.
Sunghoon groaned, mesmerised by the sweet taste of you. He knew you were a fast learner the moment you started grinding your hips on his face. His tongue did wonders, filling you more than you would’ve thought possible, and whenever you had the urge to press your thighs together, Sunghoons arms were right there, keeping them apart.
His rhythm matched yours, and he enjoyed every moan that left your lips. “Hoon, fuck, yes, that feels good,” you murmured through the haze of pleasure, doing your best to keep it together.
“I’m— close,” you breathed out, the knot inside your stomach slowly untangling. Sunghoon’s movements became more erratic then, wanting to make you cum on his face.
“Sunghoon!” you exclaimed when you finally came undone, still riding off your high on the figure skater’s face, feeling his proud smile. “I need you in… inside,” you said, certain that you sounded pathetic, but Sunghoon hardly thought so.
He didn’t waste any time, flipping you to your back, his strength slightly surprising you. His trousers were gone within seconds,  andthe sight of his pink tip covered in pre-cum made you salivate, but that was perhaps for another time.
You held your breath as Sunghoon hovered over you, teasing your entrance with his cock. Shooting him an annoyed look, he chuckled at your reaction before thrusting into you in one powerful movement. It made you lightheaded.
“So… tight,” Sunghoon groaned, and you wanted to say he could’ve at least eased his way in, but you kept your mouth shut. “Is this okay?” he asked anyway.
“Yeah,” you replied, shimmying your hips to spur him on. The way he filled you felt amazing, but you needed him to move. “Sunghoon, please.”
Smirking, he leaned toward you, pressing a soft kiss to your lips. It was a stark contrast to his next action as he completely pulled out and then slammed his cock inside of you again. The squelching sound of your pussy was almost unreal.
“You’re so wet for me,” Sunghoon hummed, hands moving to your hips to hold your body at an angle that allowed him much better access. “So tight.”
He did not go easy on you, setting a rough, fast pace that made your insides turn to mush. But the pleasure was immeasurable. You could barely register the tight grip he had on your hips; it was most definitely going to bruise.
Your room was filled with the cacophony of your whimpers, Sunghoon’s groans and skin slapping against skin until your brain could barely register anything but the tsunami building inside of you, threatening to spill over any second.
“Sunghoon— oh,” you moaned pathetically, clutching your sheets desperately. “I’m— fuck— so close.”
His pace only turned more rabid and messy when you said it, chasing his own climax with you.
“Sunghoon!” you screamed when the pressure was finally too much. Your body trembled with ecstasy while Sunghoon didn’t let up even as you went limp in his arms.
He leaned down to press his lips to one of your boobs, biting down on your nipple, smiling at the exhausted breath that left your mouth. Your walls squeezed Sunghoon’s dick so deliciously it was not surprising when he came not long after, pulling out swiftly, his cum splattering messily over your chest and stomach.
“Fuck, Y/N,” he mumbled, momentarily letting himself collapse on the bed next to you. Not entirely to relax, since he immediately chased the touch of your lips on his, and you couldn’t deny him. “Let me clean you up,” he said against your lips.
You expected him to go to your bathroom and bring back a wet towel, but instead, when he got off the bed, he hauled you into his arms. You yelped, once again blown away by Sunghoon’s sheer strength.
He carried you to the bathroom with ease, laying you down in the large bathtub that only a five-star hotel like the one from the Lees could have inside a penthouse.
“I’m still not used to this,” Sunghoon said, glancing around the bathroom that was larger than his bedroom. But it didn’t stop him from doing what he intended.
What you thought would be quick aftercare turned into Sunghoon starting a full bath for you, cleaning your whole body and massaging your limbs until you practically fell asleep inside the bathtub.
He only got rid of the sweat from his own body, focusing mainly on you. He wanted to show you that at the end of the day, his world was truly revolving around you.
He may have denied it in the past simply because he was scared of what it would mean for him, but some things were worth being courageous for. Caring for you was one of those things.
When the two of you were children, you cared for him, and now it was his turn to return the favour. He needed to protect you from all the bad and be with you through all the good. And he didn’t even care if, in the end, you’d choose someone else.
It was Sunghoon who convinced you to talk to Jake.
“I’m so sorry for running away,” you apologised softly, afraid of making eye contact with Jake.
“No, I’m sorry—”
“Don’t.” You shook your head, glancing at Jake, your eyes firm. “Do not apologise for being honest about your feelings,” you said, brushing your hair out with your fingers.
Jake chewed on his bottom lip as he eyed you.
“I just— I don’t know… I feel awful. And guilty. Have I been leading you on this whole time? I don’t even know what it means to love someone and you—”
“No, Y/N, you haven’t,” Jake reassured you, reaching out for your hands. He held onto you tightly, forcing you to look into his deep brown eyes. “You’ve been very clear about not wanting a relationship. It’s my fault for—”
“No.” You shook your head again, yanking your hands out of Jake’s grip only to cup his cheeks. “Don’t say it’s your fault for having feelings, Jake. I— I know I care about you, too. I care about you a lot. You make me happy, and I want to be around you almost all the time. And I don’t know if that’s love, but if that’s how you feel about me, too, then that is not a fault.”
Jake pressed his lips together, a downturned smile gracing his features — it almost resembled a pout. “You also make Sunghoon really happy, did you notice?” he asked quietly. “He smiles a lot more around you.”
“I also care about Sunghoon a lot, but—”
“You should choose him,” Jake said at once, and you gaped at him in surprise.
“Jake… don’t say that.” You closed your eyes momentarily. “I can’t just choose. Not between you. You guys are friends.”
“Then don’t choose,” Jake sighed. “Just be with us. We’ll give you anything, Y/N. Just… please, don’t leave.” His eyes were these big, brown, sad pools that were sucking you in, and the only thought left in your brain was to kiss his pouty lips.
“I won’t leave,” you said, your smile rueful. “Not again.”
“You promise?” Jake grabbed your hands again, trying to get you to pinky promise, but you shook your head.
“I don’t think I’m fit to promise anything,” you said. “But I will do my best.”
“Then that’s all I need.” Jake squeezed your hands in support before leaning in for the kiss that you were not able to stop thinking about. “I’ve wanted to do this for the past week,” he mumbled, giggling against your lips.
“It doesn’t matter if you love me back or not, Y/N. I can love you enough for the both of us,” he said, a determined look on his face.
It was in that moment when you realised that maybe, after everything, you were in love with Sim Jake. Although it didn’t feel like fireworks or the way many people described it in books or movies, the certainty that there was someone who would always be in your corner, someone who made you feel safe to be yourself and who would never judge you was just as strong.
Jake wasn’t just a friend you cared about. He was a friend who would support you no matter what, and so much more. And you wondered if this was the feeling people got when they found the person they would forever consider their soulmate.
“Jake?” you whispered softly.
“Mhm?” he hummed.
“I think I love you, too.” The bright smile that graced your lips made Jake’s heart race. “But I don’t know how we should— I feel like everything is a mess. What about Hoon? And Jay? And—”
“I won’t make you choose, Y/N. If you don’t want to let them go, then don’t. We’re fine with it, I promise. As long as you don’t leave.”
“I won’t.”
“Good. Because I don’t think I can let you go after this.” Jake ran a hand through his hair, letting out a nervous chuckle.
“Then don’t.” You smiled.
Good morning, Decelis!
Who’s ready to party? I heard that the Chois are planning to start off the Lunar New Year with a bang.
XO, Miss Decelis
When Yeonjun claimed to have a special guest performance at his party, the last thing people had expected was for Bang Chan (a Decelis alumni), Seo Changbin and Han Jisung to appear on stage as a group called 3Racha. Their songs were actually amazing, but this was kind of their debut among the Decelis Academy students as nobody knew that they were a part of the underground scene for the past two years aside from Yeonjun, apparently.
You were getting a drink for yourself when he approached you with a grin. “You seem busy tonight,” he said, pointing toward a corner where four boys stood, all waiting for you to join them once again.
“Do I?” You raised your brow at him, and he let out a light-hearted chuckle.
“I’m glad you’re having fun, darling,” Yeonjun said, ruffling your hair teasingly. “Just no funny business in my house, okay? At least not without me.”
You rolled your eyes at the last remark. “You wish.”
“I really do.” Yeonjun shot you a wink, donning a lopsided grin. He avoided the slap you aimed at his shoulder, and disappeared into the crowd with a salute. “See you around, Y/N.”
“I don’t like the way he looks at you.” You recognised Sunghoon’s voice, surprised by it at such close vicinity. He had been standing in the corner with Jay, Jake and Heeseung not so long ago, but now he was right next to you. “Was he flirting again? Should I tell him to fuck off?”
“Hoon.” You looked at the figure skater, amused by the way his whole face was contorted by jealousy. His lips formed a slight pout and his brows were furrowed as he glared into the crowd where Yeonjun left. “He’s just teasing me. It’s fine. Yeonjun’s my friend.”
“But you said he was your first kiss,” Sunghoon pointed out because he had been curious a while ago and actually asked. “And Miss Decelis—”
“That was months ago. It doesn’t matter.” You shook your head. Back then, you just wanted to lose your virginity, and it did not matter to whom that would be. You got lucky when it ended up being Jake. “Yeonjun and I are just friends.”
“I know, I trust you.” Sunghoon looked at you, an adoring glint in his brown eyes. “I just don’t trust him. To be fair, I don’t even trust myself,” he sighed.
You chuckled, letting your head fall on his shoulder. “We’ll be fine, Hoon. All of us.” Glancing toward the other boys, you saw them talking to each other, laughing about something Heeseung said. “I’m gonna go to the bathroom. Can you tell the guys, so they don’t have to worry about me?”
Sunghoon gave you a tight-lipped smile, showing his dimples, and nodded.
“Thank you.” Kissing his cheek, you parted ways with him again, heading upstairs to find an empty bathroom.
But you never made it to one, someone yanking you inside an empty room by the wrist. You were going to blow up at the person for the gall they have to do this, but when your eyes fell on a familiar figure you thought you’d never see again, you froze.
Your brain entirely malfunctioned at the sight of Yoo Namsoon, one of the girls who made your high school experience hell. She was not the one who pushed you into the pool last year, but she did watch, doing nothing to stop it.
“How cute,” she said mockingly, eyeing you from head to toe. Your outfit did not fit the version of you that she knew from last year. “You think now that Heeseung and Jay finally don’t hate you, you’re something more?”
You wanted to protest. To disagree because that was not it, but your mouth could not generate any words as you stared at the girl. Her arms were crossed and her glare deadly. All you could do was chew on the inside of your cheek, your fists clenched to the point you felt your nails digging into the skin of your palms.
“Ah, that’s not why, is it?” Namsoon’s lips formed a self-satisfied smirk as she eyed you. “I know exactly what you are.” She let out a taunting laugh, stepping toward you. She knew you had nowhere to go. The door was behind her, and she would not let you run.
You know nothing about me, you wanted to retort, but the sounds were still not coming out of your mouth. You looked like a fish on dry land, opening and closing your mouth in a pathetic attempt to face one of the many ghosts of your past.
“Still the poor little Y/N, I see,” Namsoon said, enjoying the look of terror on your face. “Or… should I call you Miss Decelis, now that I figured it out?” She feigned a pout. “I wonder if the guys know. They might not appreciate the fact that this whole time, it’s been you, trying to make them look bad.”
You couldn’t breathe. The whole room was spinning despite how hard you tried to focus on Namsoon and how much you wanted to scream at her. All you could do was just stand in place, helpless and weak against one of the girls that nearly ruined your life.
“What?” Namsoon tilted her head to the side, giving you a pitying look. “Can you not speak for yourself?”
“I—”
The door burst open, stopping you from saying anything.
“What the fuck is going on?”
Heeseung had yet to speak to you alone since you reconciled with Jake. These days, you are always with someone. Whether it be the other guys or Jeonghyeon, Ningning and Hanbin. It was obvious you were closest with Jake and Sunghoon, but you quite liked spending time with Jay, too. It was your relationship with Heeseung that was still strained because of the past that haunted it — which was also entirely his fault.
But he really wanted to talk to you. He was just still building up the courage to do so. Which was strange since Lee Heeseung wasn’t usually the anxious type of guy who needed to properly think of what he would like to say to not sound like an absolute asshole.
“Heeseung!” Jeonghyeon’s voice took him out of his stupor. His cousin stared at him with panicked eyes, grabbing at his arm while frantically looking around. Jeonghyeon’s face dropped when he spotted only Jake, Jay and Sunghoon with Heeseung.
“Jeonghyeon, what’s—”
“Where’s Y/N?” he asked instantly, still looking around as if you would sense his panic and suddenly appear out of thin air.
“Sunghoon said she went to the bathroom, why—”
“We need to find her. Now.” Jeonghyeon pulled at Heeseung’s arm, which now fully had the attention of the other three guys, each staring at Jeonghyeon with raised eyebrows.
“What’s going on?” Jay asked, tilting his head to the side.
Jeonghyeon gave Jay a helpless look. “I heard someone say they saw Yoo Namsoon here,” he said, knowing that Jay was the only one who would truly understand his words. “We have to find Y/N.”
Yoo Namsoon was a familiar name to Heeseung. He remembered the girl from last year. They’d hooked up at a party once, and what he mostly took out of the whole encounter was her endless questions about you. He never quite figured out why she wanted to know so much about your childhood, though.
“Fuck,” Jay cursed under his breath, running a hand through his hair. “I thought she was out of the country?”
“No, that’s just Min Jiseo, since she was the one—”
“Wait, are you guys talking about the girls who got expelled for bullying?” Jake’s brows furrowed as he finally caught up to the several random names that were being dropped in the conversation. Then his eyes furrowed when he remembered the main reason why he’d known the name. “Min Jiseo… she was the one who pushed Y/N into the pool,” he said, his smile dropping.
“Yoo Namsoon was one of her best friends,” said Jeonghyeon, affirming the statement with a nod. “And right now, she’s somewhere at this party, and I can’t find Y/N.”
“Fuck,” Jay repeated again. “Let’s… let’s just all look around. One of us has got to be able to find her, right?”
“I’ll go upstairs,” Heeseung said instantly, knowing the house the best since he’d been to the house more than the few times the Chois organised parties. Choi Beomgyu was his friend, after all.
“We’ll look around,” Sunghoon agreed.
Heeseung ran toward the stairs, colliding with Beomgyu. “Hey, dude. Chill. What’s up?” The shorter guy’s laid back attitude only seemed to irk Heeseung more, but he stopped to respond regardless.
“Have you seen Y/N?”
“Oh, yeah. I think I saw someone pull her in one of the empty rooms. Was a bit weird, but I didn’t wanna pry.”
Heeseung blinked at Beomgyu several times. “You didn’t wanna—” Sighing, he shook his head. “Okay, thanks.”  He wanted to think Namsoon hadn’t got to you yet, but he had a bad feeling about this.
Heeseung opened the door to every room he could until he found the right one.
“What the fuck is going on?” he asked, faced with Namsoon’s back.
You stood in the middle of the room, rooted in your spot. Eyes glossy with unshed tears, Heeseung’s immediate response was to push past Namsoon and wrap his arms around you. He ignored Namsoon’s scornful gaze and the scoff she let out.
“Should I tell him, or will you, Y/N?” she asked tauntingly.
“Heeseung,” you murmured against his chest, but he shook his head, glaring at Namsoon.
“Well, isn’t this just so cute.” The girl rolled her eyes. “But she hasn’t told you that she’s the one who’s been shit-talking you for years to the whole school, has she?” Namsoon tilted her head, smirking. “Little Y/N trying to pretend to be something more as Miss Decelis.”
Heeseung licked his lips but didn’t react. He didn’t want to give Namsoon the satisfaction. It was certainly a conversation for later, but not now. “Who the fuck cares?” He feigned nonchalance. “Just get the fuck away from us, Namsoon. Nobody wants you here. You’re just a self-conscious bitch, and it shows. It’s pathetic.”
The offended gasp Namsoon let out made you chuckle against Heeseung’s chest, and he pressed you closer to him, creating a sort of shield between you and the girl who came to the party just to terrorise you.
“Whatever. I’ll just tell everyone else.”
“You won’t be telling anyone anything.” Jay appeared in the door, blocking the path for Namsoon. “Nobody’s gonna believe shit you say because if you haven’t forgotten, you got kicked out of Decelis for bullying.”
“Choose your next actions carefully. Because I have Y/N’s father on speed dial.” Sunghoon showed his phone from behind Jay, peering into the room. Jake was there, too.
That seemed to knock some sense into the girl. You still remembered your father threatening to take legal action against the families of anyone who would dare hurt you in any way. You hated that other people were fighting your battles, but your whole body felt numb the moment you saw Yoo Namsoon.
Her derisive laugh made you look at her. “Did you sleep with all of them? God, Y/N, out of all the things I’d expect from you, homie-hopping is definitely not one of them.”
“It’s hardly homie-hopping if we’re all fine with it.” Jake rolled his eyes. “Now get the fuck out while we’re being nice.”
Stepping to the side to create enough space for Namsoon, they pointed at the door. She glanced at you one last time, her spite seeping through every pore in her body, before finally leaving. “You’re all insane,” she mumbled under her breath.
“Are you okay?” Heeseung let go of you, only for his hands to cup your cheeks, examining your entire face. “She didn’t hurt you or anything, right?”
You shook your head. “She didn’t touch me,” you whispered, practically collapsing in Heeseung’s arms from the imagined lack of oxygen in your lungs. “I think she just wanted to prove she still had an effect on me.”
“Y/N.” Heeseung held you tightly.
“I’m sorry,” you said, shaking your head.
“For what?”
“I’m not really sure.”
“Then don’t be sorry,” he said. “You have nothing to be sorry for.” He should’ve known you were Miss Decelis, now that he thought about it. It explained why the blog centred around you most of the time — and not necessarily in a good way. “I’m the one who should be sorry. For a lot of things.” For ignoring you. For not noticing what you were going through. For refusing to see how amazing you were and making you feel like you were less.
“Yeah. If anything, we’re the ones who should be sorry.” Jay chuckled, approaching you and Heeseung.
They didn’t have to be, though. You already forgave them.
“But we’re here for you now, Y/N.” Jake smiled, stealing a kiss from you in front of everyone. “You can always talk to us. As your friends. Or your boyfriends. Whatever you wanna label it.”
Sunghoon cleared his throat. “Technically, I’m the boyfriend,” he said matter-of-factly, raising his hand.
“Piss off.” Heeseung rolled his eyes.
You giggled, watching them pretending to fight over you. Hopefully, none of you will ever have to explain the relationship to any of your parents.
Good morning, Decelis!
It seems the rumours have reached you all. I guess one day, even this blog would have to come to an end. It is only fitting that it happens now, when the very reason I started this blog for has been resolved. If you can call it that.
I doubt most of you will miss me anyway. XO, Y/N.

100 Milestone Event - raiden taeemon with mitsuri!reader! short story 🍡
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here it is everyone, the milestone event for reaching +100 followers! This is also part two of another milestone on my yandere blog!
The link will be here, so definitely check it out first before reading this one! Special thanks to @deathmetalunicorn1 for helping me with the sections I was struggling to write. Not gonna lie, Raiden’s dialogue is a bit hard lol. So with that being said: sit back, relax and enjoy! :)
warnings: canon divergence of manga, violence, strong language.
The moment Raiden Taeemon witnessed the strength of a Hashira is a memory he would never forget.
In Valhalla, there were many activities to entertain the masses such as gambling or martial arts tournaments, but sumo matches have been providing just the right amount of spectacle and violence far longer than any known sport. Even gods had become sponsors to certain dojos, providing funds for more equipment and so forth. Raiden was content with his lifestyle, fighting against strong opponents, eating good food and followed by having some fun with a few girls depending on how much alcohol he drank that night.
Then sumo wrestlers began disappearing from the dojos, one by one. Their remains would be discovered the following morning, torn asunder and…half-eaten. The sight frightened the customers so much that they didn’t dare go outside unless they were absolutely certain that the matches would not last beyond the first rays of the sun setting across the hazy blue skies. Even the gods had begun to worry, believing there was a serial killer on the loose…if you can call withdrawing their sponsorships an expression of anxiety. The masters of the dojos even began restricting the fighters to a curfew, forbidding anyone from going out into the night lest they face expulsion.
But Raiden was tough. He had been the strongest sumo wrestler of his time. He could take care of himself. If someone wants to come after him, he’ll return the gesture wholeheartedly.
After an evening of drinking, he took his usual stroll back home when he heard someone call out to him. Confused and half inebriated, Raiden looked over his shoulder and saw a shivering, drooling, decrepit old man with a large lump on his head. At first he thought something was wrong with him…but that concern changed to alarm when the man split his body up into four younger versions of himself with fashionable robes, fangs, and possessed weapons. One of them even had wings and talons like an eagle!
One of them opened his mouth and released a loud screech with enough strength to make Raiden’s head spin and catapulted him into a building. As he stumbled to get out of the debris, the one wearing red robes thrusted his wooden staff into the ground, lightning bolts spitting from it. Raiden screamed, white-hot pain pulsing through his body.
“This is supposed to be the strongest one in this district? How lame!”
“Shut up and finish the job, Karaku! We cannot be seen or else they will come! We cannot go back to that place!”
“Come on, it’s been so long since we’ve played with our food~!”
For the first time in his life, Raiden felt fear. He did not know what these guys…this thing was, but he had to get away. He had to get away or he might die again.
“I’ll finish it. Do not worry, human, your death shall be quick and painless.”
Raiden’s eyes widened as the one dressed in blue charged towards him, wielding a halberd with an apathetic expression. Yet before the weapon could put a hole in his chest, it flew out of his bronze hands with a loud ‘crack’.
“Geez, of all the demons that had to be causing trouble in this place, it’s you guys again?!”
The sumo wrestler whipped his head towards the rooftops of the building, seeing a young woman with braided pink-greenish hair and dressed in black, [Eye Color] orbs narrowed and face pouting as she wielded….a whip? Behind her were two other individuals. A kid in a checkered haori…and a little girl with a piece of bamboo in her mouth?
He watched them leap into the air; the kid unsheathed his sword and went straight towards Red, the girl charged at the green-robed one he assumed was Karaku, and the woman targeted the blue one that was right in front of him.
Neither opponent was giving an inch in their fight, and Raiden had to admit that the kid and muzzled girl were doing remarkably well….yet it wasn’t their unusual sword style or hand-to-hand combat techniques that caught his interest. It was the woman who had torn off her opponent’s arm as soon as she flipped him over her shoulder, knocking him into the ground with a loud ‘crack’.
The blue-eyed demon opened his mouth to scream or release an attack like the yellow one, but she swung her whip across his neck, decapitating the bastard.
Wait, where is the yellow one? Hearing a loud screech, Raiden whipped his head up to the nighttime skies and saw the demon's mouth stretching. The wrestler watched in horror as sparks of electrified air were being collected into a whirling sphere. And the target of the attack was none other than the little lady.
Somehow, he’d been able to force his aching body to move from the debris and bolt towards her, pushing the lady as close to the ground as possible without crushing her, using himself as a shield to absorb most of the attack when it came at them.
The last thing he remembered were his ears feeling wet and the woman’s worried face and… she was saying something to him before he lost consciousness.
He didn’t know what it was, but he hoped it’d been a ‘thank you’. It’s not everyday he got to protect a damsel from a demon, even when she could stand on her own ground.
Tumblr media
As Raiden slowly came too, feeling the familiar padding of his futon, he groaned deeply, unable to open his eyes. A headache throbbed painfully through his whole head, making him both dizzy and nauseous.
He couldn't remember the last time he had a hangover this bad as he was slowly able to open his eyes, wincing at the light peeking through his window. His other senses slowly came back to him as the throbbing in his head slowly dulled. Raiden shifted and instantly froze, feeling his whole body seemed to be on fire yet so heavy at the same time.
As the minutes ticked by, Raiden was slowly able to sit up, lifting a hand to scratch at the back of his head, but his movements were stiff, almost like he was restricted, looking down to see bandages all over his body. His mind drew a blank, not remembering getting hurt and like a switch was flipped at that word, hurt, what he could recall from the night before came rushing back to him, making him fall back against his futon as his headache returned full force.
Shit…what the hell even happened? All he remembered was having a good time and then the weird old man…
Raiden’s eyes widened. That’s right. The old man turned into four demons! And then there were those kids…and that woman. The woman with hair that looked like sakura mochi and had the strength of a bear.
Head spinning, heart pounding, his mouth stretched into a grin as the memories from last night came back in full force. He had a preference for the larger ladies, but he’s always been flexible~.
Tumblr media
Rengoku had told you countless times that if you ever crossed paths with Hantengu in the Bifrost, never confront him alone. He nearly lost his life against the Upper Moon Demon at the Swordsman’s Village if it hadn’t been for Tanjiro, Muichiro, and Nezuko. In all honesty, he thought the demon would no longer exist once his head had been cut off. But he is still there, in the Bifrost, and he escaped through a tear in the barrier.
He tried to consume as many strong humans as possible to regain his strength, though his efforts drew in unnecessary attention and that’s how he got caught. Tanjiro was able to deliver the final blow to the main body, and everything else went well….although no one had anticipated the damage done to the sumo wrestling district.
Oh goodness, what was going to happen? You knew Tengen and Rengoku loved to go there and watch the matches, especially when Raiden Taeemon was participating, but now it’d take weeks to clean up the mess! Gah, you failed on your second official mission as the Love Hashira! One more strike, and the Master’s gonna be so mad he won’t let you be part of the Demon Slayer Corps anymore!!
You sighed heavily, trudging through the streets with a heavy heart as your crow flew high in the skies above. You had completed another shift in the Bifrost, followed by an investigation in regards to another possible demon sighting in the northern areas of Valhalla.
Although everyone had reassured you that no one was seriously injured that fateful night, it still bothered you tremendously. You had offered to donate the money made from selling honeycombs at the farmer’s market towards the reconstruction of the district, but the Master told you not to fret.
You did what you had to do, and minimized the casualties as much as possible. Rengoku has taught his apprentice very well. The compliment still made your face flush with happiness…though, to your embarrassment, not as much as when you brought that handsome fellow back to his dojo. Raiden Taeemon. You rescued Raiden Taeemon from a demon and treated him in his own room!
Oh, you were such an awful woman~!
Feeling your face redden in embarrassment, you slapped your cheeks together. Pull yourself together, [First Name]! There’s no need to reminisce about the past ‘cause it’ll make delicious food go sour in your mouth! And it’s time for lunch anyway, just think about what you’re gonna order and worry about everything else later unless there’s an urgent message from the Master!
Nodding to yourself, you quickened your pace and found a restaurant with the wisteria symbol stamped just beneath the sign. If a Demon Slayer needed a place to stay or to eat, the establishments that carried the Master’s symbol were trustworthy.
You could relax here without worrying about a demon or paying too much out of your pocket, although you secretly snuck in a hefty tip to the staff for working so hard to accommodate your…quirks. Yeah, quirks, let’s go with that!
Smiling brightly at the familiar faces of the employees, you greeted them enthusiastically and wished they had a good shift as you followed one of them towards the back of the restaurant. This place still catered to other customers, so you always reserved a room for yourself to enjoy your meal in privacy.
Being gawked at for having unusual hair or how much you ate on a daily basis brought back unpleasant memories.
You squealed joyfully at the lacquered oval-shaped table, covered with every single item on the menu plus their best-selling herbal tea! You thanked the staff member profusely for their hard work in the kitchen, promising to enjoy the meal to the fullest!
The employee - a kindly older man with four children and one grandchild - smiled serenely, saying it is the least he and his family can do for the people who saved them long ago, in life and death, from demons. If you need anything, just let him or someone else know.
Upon bowing to each other, he left, closing the door behind him. You wasted no time in giving your thanks to this lovely banquet and began eating to your hearts’ desire. But an hour later, however, a knock came at the door. It was the old man again, but he sounded…worried.
You blinked. Huh? You didn’t remember asking for thirds! You just did that ten minutes ago! Concerned, you allowed him to enter, immediately inquiring what was wrong, what could you do to help.
He swallowed. “That is….there is a man who insists on asking about the ‘cute little lady with hair like sakura mochi’. I told him I knew whom he was speaking about, but politely asked him to leave because you were not to be disturbed. But he is insistent on…sharing this room with you for lunch. What should I do, Lady Hashira?”
You frowned. It wasn’t too unusual to have some rowdy customers walk through these doors, but not to this extent. Perhaps…the person who is giving the owner such a difficult time is because the man has some information he would like to relay to the Demon Slayer Corps? It would make more sense to go directly to a Hashira than pass a message to a kakushi.
You nodded your head to the owner.
“It’s all right, let him come in. Whatever he wants to eat, please add it to my bill.”
The owner’s silver brows pinched beneath his hairline as he frowned. “As you wish, Lady Hashira.” He bowed and quickly left the room, closing the sliding paper door behind him.
Humming softly to yourself, you sat yourself back down in your seat. Some of the employees appeared from behind, quickly and quietly removing the empty plates and rushing back to the kitchens. You thanked each of them for your hard work, smiling softly as you began pouring tea into two earth-brown ceramic cups.
One for yourself, and one for your guest. In your humble opinion, there is no better beverage to have mid-meal than freshly brewed green tea.
Just as you finished pouring the tea into the second cup, the door opened again.
When you looked up to thank the owner for complying with your request, blood drained from your face and your heart somersaulted in your throat. Standing behind the quaking owner was a tall, broad-shouldered man dressed in a dark blue yukata and wooden sandals. White highlights stuck out of his dark brown hair, which was tied back in a ponytail. And he was grinning.
This is Raiden. Raiden Taeemon, the man you had saved from Hantengu and patched up his wounds like the lascivious criminal you were. Oh no, did he figure out what you’d done? Wait, did he even remember that night?! His breath smelled strongly of rice wine when you carried him back to his dojo! You thought for certain that he’d been too intoxicated to realize what happened!
“Hey, there.” He purred softly.
You swallowed. “H-Hello.” You said. “I hear that you wished to speak to me. May I inquire why?” You tried to keep your voice neutral and calm so as to not show that you were nervous. Your palms began to sweat as he took a seat at the table. Raiden beamed, his smile revealing rows of razor-sharp teeth.
“I wanted to thank you!”
But you did not hear him. You were still under the assumption he was angry as you quickly backed away from the sumo wrestler, your forehead and hands resting firmly on the wooden floor in the position of the dogeza.
“I’m so sorry!” You blubbered. “I’m sorry you got hurt! I wasn’t strong enough to handle the demon on my own and you got hurt trying to protect me!! And there was so much damage to the b-buildings! What if you can’t have matches?! What have I done?! I’ll pay for all the damages somehow, I swear it in my honor as the Love Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps!”
“W-Wait a sec, little lady -”
“But to make it even worse, I entered your home without your permission, and I even touched your body so I could patch you up! Oh, I should have done more! What was I even thinking about being a capable Hashira when Rengoku recommended me to the Master to take up the mantle! Now all the good vibes from lunch are gone!!”
You squeaked as you were suddenly lifted up from the ground, your face being gently cradled by calloused palms and being pulled towards Raiden’s face, chapped lips being pressed against your mouth. Raiden Taeemon was kissing you.
Heat immediately flooded into your cheeks yet you did not dare move, just staring at this man in disbelief. When he pulled away, he smiled at you, tilting his head to the side. “You okay now?”
Your immediate response had been knocking him back into an adjacent wall and turning away to hide your smiling, flushed face. To think you had your first kiss with a strong, handsome man! He did surprise you with a warm laugh, standing up and brushing the dust off of his yukata.
“Sorry about that! You were rambling and that was the only thing I could think of to calm you down!”
When you informed that he was in fact the first person to kiss you like that, he looked at you, completely stunned at your confession before grinning.
“You’re pulling my leg! There ain’t no way a woman as stunning as you hasn’t been kissed before!”
But you remained silent, unable to form any more words beyond the truth. You were never a very good liar. He then surprised you when he lowered his head to the floor, profusely apologizing for putting you in such an embarrassing position.
You quickly forgave him, saying that he did not know in the first place, and in fairness, you had believed that you would not see each other again after that fateful night. You did, however, emphasize that he did have to take responsibility for his actions.
He laughed warmly, jabbing his thumb against his chest. “I’ll do just that then! I’ll marry ya, if you’re willing to be with someone like me!”
You beamed. “Better yet, how about we have lunch together while we’re here? I did say that whatever my ‘guest’ would like to have would be paid by me! And the food here is absolutely delicious! You simply must try their spicy dishes and sweets, if you have a sweet tooth!”
The rest of the afternoon had been lovely, sharing dishes and sharing stories about each other. Not wanting to repeat your parents’ mistakes, you were upfront with Raiden about being a Hashira…as well as being the eldest daughter of the ocean god Poseidon. There were going to be risks if the two of you moved forward….including the possibility that you might not come back from a mission, or even a routine patrol in the Bifrost might get awry.
But to your surprise, Raiden wanted this. He wanted you, a woman who had once been told by a former suitor that only a wild animal could love someone with odd-colored hair and a big appetite.
He did not care if you were a human or a god; what mattered to him, more than strength and beauty, was honesty and kindness.
And you could not be any happier.
Bonus Content:
The last thread of Hades’ patience snapped when his little brother demanded to have [First Name] removed from the Demon Slayer Corps in his palace, after he’d just told Poseidon that she was doing well under Ubuyashiki’s watchful eye.
When he heard about his niece's promotion, Hades was obligated to tell Poseidon the truth about her whereabouts. Obviously he was not taking it very well.
However, Hades will not tolerate being disrespected in his own domain.
The lord of the underworld glared at the tyrant of the oceans. “She may be your daughter, but she is still the Love Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps. You know damned well I cannot replace skilled soldiers at the flick of a wrist. It doesn’t work like that for this organization. I’m sorry, Poseidon…but you brought this outcome upon yourself. If [First Name] wishes to see you or talk to you, she will do so on her own terms. Do not push yourself into her life again, you’ll only make things worse.”
Hades admired his brother’s kingly qualities, he truly did…but when it came to matters about his eldest daughter, Poseidon was extremely overprotective of her. He could be…irrational.
It was a good thing he’d concealed the wedding invitation moments before Poseidon came here. The god of perfection would never allow his child to marry a human, even if he were the strongest sumo wrestler in history or treated [First Name] just as Hades treated his wife Persephone: with respect, love, and honor.
Poseidon could care less about Amphitrite. Reputation is all that mattered to him; and because he valued that so highly, the price had been paid with his daughter’s ‘disappearance’.
Too little, too late.

Moves & Countermoves (Part 5)
Summary: No one ever wins the games, even fourteen years later, Y/N is still playing.
Warning: this chapter contains mentions of the horrors Snow inflicts on ‘desirable’ victors, nothing graphic but could still be upsetting to some readers. Proceed with caution.
Prologue | Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
Tumblr media
“Damn it,” Haymitch curses, taking a long swig from his glass.
Katniss is inches away from literally becoming the girl on fire. Sprinting through the raging flames as foliage and trees block her way.
“Why are they doing that?” Y/N tugs anxiously at the sleeve of his jacket.
“She’s too close to the edge.” They need to turn her around, but the fire balls are for show.
“Not now.” The gamemakers have chased her well back into the tree line. “Why aren’t they stopping?”
“I don’t know.” Haymitch huffs, “I have as much control over this as you do.”
“We need a sponsor.”
“To send her what exactly? A fire extinguisher?”
Remember who the real enemy is.
“I’m sorry.”
Y/N shakes her head, “it’s fine.” Haymitch is direct and abrasive, he does not sugarcoat. There are times when she wants that, needs it even.
“I was dismissive.” For all she was his protégé, she is now his equal. Old habits die hard, the places where they are joined bleed into one another.
“No, you were right.”
Things in the arena have calmed down, Katniss nursing a burn to her thigh. Stumbling back to the river, finding a moment’s relief before the careers and Peeta spot her.
“I’ll keep an eye on things here if you wanna go work the crowd,” if they’re gonna kill Katniss, Haymitch doesn’t want her to watch.
“I’ll wait till it’s done.”
You stubborn thing, let me spare you; just once.
Despite her injury, Katniss scales her way to the top of a tree which the careers can’t seem to shake her from.
“Let’s just wait her out,” Peeta suggests, “she has to come down sometime. It’s that or starve to death. We’ll kill her then.”
Cato contemplates for a moment, “ok.” He shrugs, “somebody make a fire.”
“Now go,” Haymitch insists, “she needs something for that burn. I’ll man the fort. Go, be great.” He pecks her cheek in parting.
Y/N stands, dragging sweaty palms down the front of her dress. Passing the betting pool on her right. They smile and wave. The victor forces her best grin, spotting one of the more generous patrons and locking eyes.
The man shakes his head at the whistling of those beside him. He’s been chosen.
“How’ve you been?” Y/N plucks two champagne flutes off the serving tray as it passes. Their contents a dark blue.
He smirks, accepting the offering. “I know your game, little minx. Tell me what you want.”
“Something for my tribute’s burn.”
“You’d think the girl on fire would be used to it.”
Y/N huffs a laugh.
“How much is this going to cost me?” That’s the real question, isn’t it?
“Two thousand.” Play money for someone like him.
“Greedy, greedy.” He tuts, fishing for his wallet.
“You’ll make double that if you bet on her.”
The Capitol man cocks his head of green curls. Y/N is beautiful, not in the way his wife is. Understated, but never overlooked and though she dresses the part, she will never fit in. Standing out like a neon sign among the masses. A humming live wire. “You seem confident.”
“She’s demonstrated better survival skills than half the tributes from one and two. Besides, you’ve always been generous.”
“Because I like you. Dare I say, we’re friends.”
“We are friends.” You’ve been good to me, kind even.
“Most people here are looking for a bit more than friendship from someone like you. A few of my colleagues would so love to meet you.” It’s not meant to be an insult, but it stings all the same. “Do be careful, little minx. Take my money and run.”
————————————————————————
When Katniss receives the parachute with a note that reads ‘apply generously and stay alive. -Y/N & Haymitch,’ she wonders how far away the arena is from the tribute center. Is it just beyond reach, separated by a dome of tech?
What would her mentors say now, without all of Panem to see? If only she could talk to them, just one more time. To be comforted by Y/N, scolded by Haymitch even. Scooping a bit of goop from the container onto her wound, it soothes the ache. “Thank you.”
————————————————————————
Nights are the hardest, in and out of the arena. If a tribute needs something after hours, they’d have to wait until the viewing room opens the next day. Y/N insists the games stay on, the feed streaming to district twelve, broadcast over the exterior wall of their room in the tribute center.
“You gonna fill me in on what the hell’s going on?” Haymitch asks, keeping his distance for now.
“The kids are sleeping, no cannon for a while now.”
“I didn’t mean the games.”
She knows that. “Haymitch.” His name is choked, so different from the way he’s used to hearing it.
His tumbler clunks down on the bedside table. “Come here,” he clambers onto the bed, still fully clothed from the day. “Come here.”
She worms her way into his open arms and sobs. Wracking both of them with the force of it.
“I’ve got you,” he breathes, trying to absorb some of her pain.
She cries herself to sleep, even as Haymitch hushes her. Breath hitching in her throat, the terrible way that turns his stomach. When she stills, the front of his shirt caught in her fist, Haymitch dozes off. Waking to the sound of her screams, pushing at him, desperate to free herself.
“It’s me,” he pulls back enough for her to see with her own eyes. “It’s just me.”
Y/N cups his face in her hands. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be.” I love you.
She tells him of her conversation with Cashmere and the sponsor. How afraid she is that pay per views aren’t going to keep these people entertained forever. Eventually they will get tired of watching them, they’ll want to be with them; and neither she nor Haymitch will be able to say no. “If Katniss lives, they’d do it to her too.” Just like Finnick and Gloss and Cashmere, all the others before them. “They’ll do it to her too.”
Haymitch gentles her with pretty lies. ‘He’ll sort this out.’ They will have to pry you from my cold, dead, hands.
————————————————————————
Little Rue, from district eleven, is also quite the climber. Making her way to the tree closest Katniss and drawing her attention to a tracker jacker nest a few feet up. If she’s able to drop it down on the careers, she might take out one or two. At the very least, cause enough of a distraction to get away.
Y/N watches on bated breath as Katniss begins sawing through the branch with her knife. People of the viewing room hiss each time Katniss is stung. Letting out a collective cheer when the hive falls, sending the careers and Peeta scattering. All but Glimmer, who catches the brunt of their stings.
Haymitch shifts. I’ll be damned, you might actually make it out alive, sweetheart.
Peeta circles around, after the cannon sounds, leaving Katniss with the bow and arrow. “Katniss, go! Run! Get out of here. What are you doing?”
She blinks at him slowly, effects of the tracker jacker venom dulling her senses. Putting enough distance between herself and the tree with the body underneath before falling into the brush. Plagued by images of days gone by.

You consider new indie artists easy to discover? Lol, is there some platform or place to be looking that 90% of us don't know about? You should just give some places to look instead of being mean spirited about it. I think the person in that post is just complaining about the pop scene. A completely valid complaint, there used to be interesting characters and acts in pop, various genres, now it's all 1 genre and the stars are all homogeneous super models. You can complain about the content of pop music while also liking and acknowledging genres outside of it. Pop is what you're forced to hear on the radio, it's valid to be bored with what is considered pop or who is considered a "famous musician".
genuinely this ask is a case of "your experiences are not universal"
why are you demanding answers on how to find indie artists in my inbox? i didn't even directly talk about indie artists in my original post
also, there is tons of pop music out there made by less famous people if you just look/research for it
like a song? Google "songs like _____ reddit" or even something like "pop songs by less famous artists" and go to sources beyond sponsored listicles
hell, every music-listening program out there nowadays has a similar sounds type of category or sorting algorithm
you're very much overreacting to a two second opinion on a post that was not about you and i promise it's not as deep as you're making it. there is pop music out there by artists that aren't famous and it's way easier to find than you'd think but instead of going to do your due diligence to find the music you allegedly want to hear so badly, you came into my inbox to be a misogynist because you hate an honestly very small subset of music as a whole

thinking about your wedding night with mencken... (continuation of mencken x roy!stepdaughter!reader arranged marriage)
nsfw | semi-dark content? | jeryd mencken x f!reader (succession)
Tumblr media
From the moment you woke up, you were prepared for the worst. You mean, look at what happened during Shiv’s wedding. An attempted hostile company takeover, adultery, a literal death. And your step sister had only been marrying a Waystar executive. Imagine what could happen now that the groom is the potential President of the United States.
On one of the few nights you’d been able to spend together since your step father got involved, Jeryd joked that there’d be an assassination attempt. Between cold white sheets with the distant noise of NYC traffic, he whispered that you should wear pink. Be the next Jackie O. When you hushed him with a playful smack he retracted his statement, instead deciding that white would show the blood best. You’d be lying if you said your relationship hadn’t changed since your engagement. It got more formal, sure, but even beyond the label there was a shift. You didn’t talk about the arrangement, skirting around the topic in favor of morbid jokes and hurried sex. The only real mentions of the wedding being blunt questions of colors and fabrics and guests. You think you both want to pretend to be something you're not, just for a little while longer.
Honestly, you didn’t entirely believe the wedding was happening. Until, you were zipped into your gown, walking down the aisle. And even then you were sure you would wake up at any second. Like your life was just a dream waiting to break with a fever. Neither of you cried. You wore a measured smile, Jeryd wore his trademarked charismatic grin. The guest list was in the hundreds, the event itself was incredibly well documented. Paparazzi at the entrance, photos going viral on Twitter, segments on the national news promoting your relationship. You had your own r/ page on Reddit by the end of the day. Even as a Roy, it’s more media attention than you’ve ever received in your life. Roman is weirdly jealous, Shiv is subtly proud. For better or worse, the first lady duties begin earlier than you expected.
There’s hardly a moment alone between the two of you the entire day. From hairstylists to bridesmaids to honored guests to photographers, there’s always someone watching the pair of you. And there’s the reception. Or more accurately, the time for you and Jeryd to publicly shmooze with all the important sponsors of his campaign. The time when absolutely everyone’s eyes would be on the newlyweds. To your credit, you play your part very well. The blushing bride with nothing to contribute but good looks and polite manners. Your mother would’ve been proud, if she hadn’t downed a full bottle of wine and excused herself to bed halfway through the party. Your plastered on smile never falters, the only motion of your annoyance being your ever tightening grip on Mencken’s arm as he guides you through the crowds.
When you’re finally alone, sitting together in a dark tinted town car as you speed towards your honeymoon villa, a deep breath of relief leaves your lungs. Even with your newfound privacy, the two of you are eerily quiet. He looks straight forward. You watch him from the corner of your eye. Everything is still for a moment. It’s surprising when Jeryd moves first, extending a hand onto the seat separating you two, palm up. Even after everything, you don’t hesitate to reach for him. There’s only a second of physical contact before his resolve is breaking, a small smile gracing his lips as he turns his head to you. You unbuckle your seatbelt with a click and scoot across the leather seat to press your side against his. Your head comes to rest on his shoulder, fingers intertwined and placed onto your lap as you somewhat cradle his arm. The soft, familiar pressure of Jeryd’s lips press against the crown of your head, his nose pressing into your hair with the gentle kiss.
Traditional as ever, Jeryd carries you over the threshold. Your gown trailing behind you like a waterfall of fabric as he cradles your frame, walking through the door and straight to the bedroom. You muffle your giggles into the side of his neck as he ignores any staff you pass on your way, their gazes following the pair of you curiously. Silently, you pray they don’t hear what you know is about to happen. When you reach the room Jeryd drops you onto the bed, the motion causing you to bounce against the mattress with a small gasp. You barely have time to compose yourself before he descends on you, lips pressing to yours in a passionate kiss.
It’s all teeth and tongue, the force that he presses against you with being strong enough to push your back flat onto the bed. There’s something different in this kiss. Something more urgent and primal than you’ve felt before. And maybe that should scare you, but of course it doesn’t. He’s only giving you what you’ve been craving since the beginning. Everything. He’d stopped you from loving him, veiled parts of himself off, held back when you asked for more. Now he’s dropping the curtain.
“I can’t get this off by myself.” You’re breathless as you speak, separating the two of you with a hand on Jeryd’s shoulder. His eyes rake down your white clothed form, hands moving to trace your curves. You already know what he’s thinking. “Don’t rip it.”
“It would get you naked faster.” He licks his bottom lip, tongue darting out to wet the pink skin there. You furrow your brows. “Fine, come on. Sit up.”
So you end up standing at the edge of bed, hands clasped in front of you as your husband works at the buttons running in a line down your back. You thought he’d be quicker, what with all the button ups he wears, but it seems like Mencken was having a hard time unbuttoning your gown. It takes a soft kiss to your now exposed shoulder blade, for you to realize. He’s taking his time. He’s making you wait. Little sighs leave your mouth as his fingers continue their path towards your hips, and by the time he’s slipping the garment off your body you’re practically squirming with anticipation.
You waste no time in ridding yourselves of the rest of your clothing, fabric piling up on the wooden floor at an alarming rate. Jeryd kisses you with hunger and hedonism, laying you flat on the bed without breaking your contact. When you finally come up for air his fingers are already moving to your cunt, spreading your growing wetness up and down your slit.
“God, you’re wet. All this just for me?” You can only nod in response, mouth occupied with moaning and mewling. He doesn’t move his eyes from yours, knows your body well enough to have you begging without even looking at what he was doing. And he does exactly that.
He pushes a long finger into your entrance, his thumb moving to trace small circles into your clit. A small curl to his finger inside of you pulls a gasp from your lips, makes you rock your hips into his touch instinctually. Of course he has to tease you, making you wait and take it. So you grab onto his arm and plead until he slips another finger inside of your cunt, finally allowing you enough pressure on your g spot to come undone in his grasp. Your orgasm is more intense than past climaxes, even ones with rougher and more direct stimulation. There must be something in the air today.
You’re still panting in ecstasy when Jeryd slips inside of you. His cock stretches you familiarly, has your eyes widening in pleasure before you can stop yourself. He chuckles at the look of bliss on your face. You find yourself with your legs hiked up over each of his shoulders, head thrown to the side to try and muffle some of the pornographic moans coming from your lips. It only lasts a few seconds before Mencken’s hand is coming to grasp at your chin roughly, tilting your gaze back to his.
“None of that. I want to hear every noise that leaves my wife’s pretty mouth.” He’s nearly as breathless as you, but still wearing that smirk that makes you go limp under his touch.
“Please don’t stop.” A moan cuts off your response before you can finish, accompanied by the tip of his cock brushing heavily against that perfect spot inside of you.
“I wouldn’t dream of it.”
Your second orgasm comes with your walls clenching forcefully around Jeryd’s cock and his name spilling from your lips in a chorus. He swears in response, burying his face into the crook of your neck as he ruts viscously into you, chasing his own release with fervor. He cums with a groan, spilling himself deep inside of you as he fucks you through the aftershocks. And his breath is hot on your neck and your skin is sticky with sweat and your smile is unabashed.
In the haze of your intimacy, he lets you outline the features of his face with your fingertips. Legs intertwined, bodies resting against one another, sides pressed into the soft fabric of the bedsheets. Perhaps it’s the romantic in you, the childish part of your soul that leaves you chasing fantasy, but you feel almost tethered to Jeryd Mencken. Tied to him in a way perfectly carnal and inevitable. You want every part of him.
You want more of him than he can give.
