Meme Marketing Stable Money
Now and then I see people praising Stable Money for the way it is bringing investments in FDs to a whole new level. I have been a customer myself for some time now and am very happy with their promise to provide the mentioned interest.
I am glad and want to thank Mr. Saurabh Jain for bringing a potential share of wealth to the middle-class people.
Also, I want to clarify that this video is not a promotion. I just wanted to work on a concept, and Stable Money is the right fit for me to experiment.

The Absence of India in Discussions on Queer Asian Media
(Edit: Since making this post, I've compiled a list of all the queer Indian media I can find here (it's also pinned on my blog). India may still be relatively absent from discussions on queer media, but it doesn't have to be that way, and change starts with us!)
So, yesterday @lurkingshan tagged me in an ask she got from @impala124 about the absence of India when we're talking about queer Asian media. I was intially just going to reblog it with my thought, but as it kept growing I figured it'd be best to just make my own post. Please read the ask linked above first so this makes sense.
*cracks knuckles* this is going to be the most fun I've had writing a post in ages. (For a little background, I'm a queer Indian, born and raised)
So, this is a very interesting question on a subject I've been rotating in my head for the past several months. There's a lot of different variables that contribute to the noticeable lack of discussion on Indian and South Asian queer media in general, so I'm just going to talk through the ones I've noticed a little randomly.
Talking about Asian media in general, it's well known that the mass popularity of kpop and anime has contributed massively to the increase in popularity of Asian media. If you've been in the Asian media fandom for any amount of time at all, you'll have noticed that media from Korea, Japan, and China gets by far the most attention from international audiences; all East Asian countries. There may be several reasons for this, but in particular, it's no secret that the fetishization of East Asians is a massive proponent in the popularity of media from these countries, while there's no such interest in South Asians. If we shift our focus to queer media specifically, media from these three countries is still extremely popular, with the addition of Thailand and the Philippines to some extent; both South East Asian countries. From what I've seen, there's very little international interest in media from South Asian countries (although, if we're talking about India specifically, I can't exactly say anything. Bollywood has not been good lately). If we talk about queer South Asian media, the scope of interest falls even further. If you'll notice, MyDramaList, one of the most commonly used websites for finding and tracking Asian shows only allows for East and South-East Asian shows. So, that's one reason—there's just not much international interest in Indian media in general. As Shan said in the initial post, it's partially because of a difference in priorities. Korea is notorious for using media to gain global standing, the role of the 'soft power' of Thai bls in the recent bills for equal marriage in Thailand has been widely discussed, the list goes on. Could racism also play a part in the massive gulf of interest in media from East Asian versus South Asian countries? Probably. But I'm not going to get into that too much.
Moving on, there's obviously a massive lack of queer media in India. I think this is greatly exacerbated by the fact that it's very hard to support the people making queer media beyond buying and/or streaming their work. The majority of people engaging with Indian queer media are queer Indians, and a lot of us have to do so in secret because of the society we live in. This means that creators that have to push through several obstacles to publish their work often receive little incentive to continue doing so because of the lack of engagement. Because of the lack of media, international fans are less likely to become interested in queer Indian media, and the cycle continues.
I will say though, contrary to what Shan said, I think Indian media, particularly anything that came out post 2019 might actually be on the easier end of the spectrum when it comes to access. This may simply be bias, so forgive me if I'm wrong here, but from what I've seen, a lot of queer Indian shows are in fact available on streaming sites, and at most you'd need a vpn to access them. I think the two main things that actually hold back queer Indian media from becoming more popular are a lack of noise and it's relatively lower quality.
The main way we find out about new shows in this space is through either word of mouth (well actually, post) or because we follow production houses known for producing media. Because of the sparse nature of both the media and the consumers, there's very few people who learn enough about the media to want to give it a shot. For example, there's a film on netflix called Badhaai Do (hindi for Congratulate Us) that I've been meaning to watch for a while. It centers around a lavender marriage and I've heard a lot of good things about it, so I was slightly surprised to see that most of the people on tumblr I interact with who have been engaging with queer media for far longer than me had never heard of it. There's also a, Indian BL from 2017 called Romil and Jugal that I've written about before here, and I would've never learned of it's existence if not for a friend hearing about it from another friend of hers.
Because there's so little queer indian media, it's natural that the quality leaves much to be desired. The main issue is, because the queer asian media market has become so saturated lately people are becoming a lot more selective with what they watch, and for good reason. This means that queer media from india is simply unable to grow and improve over time, leaving it stagnant. Back in 2016-2018, the overall dearth of queer media from Asia meant that a lot of people were willing to watch shows that were average or even worse. Thailand particularly seems to have benefitted from this, being able to grow and evolve its queer media due to the successes of shows like SOTUS, 2gehter, TharnType and more even recently, KinnPorsche. Queer Indian media will have a much, much harder time with this because of all of the factors I've talked about and more, meaning that it is much harder for queer media to evolve. Honestly, though I haven't been able to watch/read much queer media from India, the stuff I have seen is really quite decent, it's just that it tends to fail in comparison to some of the brilliant stuff we're seeing from other countries. A while a ago, I bought four queer books by Indian authors, and of the three I've read so far, I'd genuinely recommend two, albeit one with quite a few reservations (I'll be writing about them sometime in the future, just haven't found the time yet). While talking about this with @neuroticbookworm, she brought up the excellent point of how Indian media in general has just been of fairly poor quality lately. It seems to me that a lot of it is catered to more conservative audiences, which results in people like me becoming disillusioned with Indian media and simply moving onto things from other countries. It has been a long time since I've watched anything worthwhile come out of Bollywood. So, it becomes even harder for queer Indian shows to be found at all; a majority of their target audience has already forsaken Indian media as a lost cause.
So, those are a bunch of reasons because of which there's not a lot of discussion about queer Indian media in fandom spaces like Tumblr. Something else I'd like to point out is, it's very hard for queer shows in India to gain much traction whatsoever. Live television slots are ruled by the infamous Indian serials, the majority of the audience being people in their late thirties and older, particularly women. And while homophobia is just as prevalent amongst the youth of India as it is amongst older generations, younger people are far more likely to be engaging with queer media, in India at least. This means that it would be near impossible for queer shows to air on live television the way they do in countries like Thailand and Japan. The majority of Indian youth use global streaming services to watch shows, hence the greater concentration of queer shows on service platforms. (Romil and Jugal is something of a dark horse here—I don't believe it was ever aired, but it was produced by a producer who has a few decently popular serials under her belt and is available on an Indian steaming service—another reason I'm determined to research how tf this show ever came into existence) If we talk of movies, the industry is limited by the iron fist of Bollywood, another reason it's very hard for queer movies to be produced and why they're generally found on streaming sites.
There's just not a lot of people who have the balls it would take to make a queer Indian show/movie and push it to the Indian public beyond a streaming service. I mean, we're all seeing what's happening with the Love in The Big City drama right now, and believe me, public backlash in India would be the same, if not much worse. And if no one in India is watching these shows, why would anyone in any other part of the world? There's barely any public figures that would be willing to participate in such a project, so queer media stays underground. Currently, Karan Johar is the most popular—and one of the only—out celebrities in Bollywood, and, well, he's treated as something of a laughing stock by the public. He has one or two queer adjacent shows under his belt as a producer, but once again, they're barely known and available only on Netflix. There was a movie called Dostana in which he played a straight guy pretending to be gay but, well, that speaks for itself. And well, I can't exactly blame him for it, knowing how the Indian entertainment industry is.
To talk a little more about the specific comparison between India and Korea, I think you're fairly accurate in saying that the two countries seem to be roughly on par in terms of homophobia, although that's an extremely vague statement that's rather hard to either prove or disprove. While the difference in international attention towards Korean and Indian media is certainly a major component of the difference in discussion about the queer media from these countries, there's obviously other things that go into it as well. There's this video I watched some time ago on the progression of queer representation in K-dramas that's quite well researched. It's an hour and a half long, so in case you don't have the time to watch it (though I do recommend it), it basically talks about some of the dramas with queer rep that have aired on Korean television and their impact. While it's hard to gauge the level of impact of these shows on the availability of bls and gls in Korea, they certainly had an effect, if only telling the queer population of Korea that they are seen and heard. To my knowledge (although I may be mistaken), no such queer rep has ever aired on Indian television, meaning that there's nothing to push creators to put queer media out there. There have been old movies and shows that depict queerness, but none of them ever reached the sort of the scale where they may have some sort of impact on the industry. As I mentioned earlier, the widespread popularity of K-dramas (and k-pop) does make it easier for creators to make queer media since there's a much higher chance of the shows being successful thanks to the international audience. Bringing back Love In The Big City, the success of the book abroad and the high probability of the show being well received internationally is probably one of the reasons it was able to be produced amongst domestic backlash.
Now, I've been talking a lot about how it's difficult for queer Indian media to gain any sort of international recognition with domestic attention. However, it's not necessarily the case. Here's where I start rambling (I say, as if this post isn't verging on 2k words). It's been proven that the presence of the international market allows for greater creative freedom in spaces beyond television. The best example comes from Korea's very own 'soft power'; K-pop. There's a K-pop group called Dreamcatcher that debuted in 2017 with a rock sound and horror concept that was extremely rare in kpop at the time. They succeeded mainly by focusing most of their promotions to the foreign market, knowing that their concept would not be well liked in Korea. And they succeeded. Today, Dreamcatcher has a sizeable fandom and has even been growing in popularity in Korea, with the Korean public warming up to their genre and having influenced other girl groups to try out similar sounds. We've already talked about the lack of international attention for Indian media, but there's also the issue that the producers of queer Indian media aren't marketing to foreign audiences, which remain ignorant.
That's all I have, this is so long good lord. All in all, there's a bunch of factors that feed into each other creating a cycle which means that, unless there's a break somewhere, queer Indian media will remain unrecognized. I'm excited to see what other people have to say, because this is a topic close to my heart and I'd definitely enjoy seeing more discussions around it.

After a life altering car crash steals the last five years of Louis Tomlinson's memory, he returns from the hospital to an unfamiliar life that leaves him feeling inconsequential. An accidental run in with single father, Harry Styles, and his adorable pup, Elliot, make Louis question his desires, his dreams, and his fears. Eventually, he's forced to read between the lines and wonder... Has his forgotten past been that far away all along? Or have the answers been just beyond his reach all this time? _____________________________________ OR Prompt #80 BLFF 2024: Louis keeps running into the same alpha and pup everywhere he goes, and every time, it ends up with the small pup crying for his “mommy” (Louis). At first he found it cute, but after a while he begins to realize that the child’s pleas are lasting longer. The alpha assures him that there’s nothing to worry about, that it’s just a pup being a pup. But despite reassurances from the alpha, Louis is still worried about the pup. Or: AU where Louis has a horrible accident, resulting in him getting amnesia and forgetting the two people he loves the most: his alpha and pup.

Prompt 43: Enemies to lovers. Louis has really bad mental health and really hates himself (maybe because of his traumatic upbringing). His enemy (Harry) doesn’t know any of that though until something happens that completely changes his perception of Louis.

One, two or three?
A fic by CrazyWritingLady on AO3 | @crazywritinglady on Tumblr | @Crazywritinglas on Twitter
21k | Mature | Tumblr post | Twitter post
It starts with one Louis going on holiday. He spends his well deserved but not welcomed holiday in a resort. He feels a slight embarrassment for having sex with two guys within 48 hours so when he runs in to them, he invents his twin brother to keep things normal (at least in his eyes). Little did he know those men were almost sure he was all alone on this holiday. Both men like him equally and to be honest, he likes them two. Will they end up with just two or with three? Prompt 215: AU based on the story about Jennifer Coolidge who posed as twins to date two men at once. Louis goes on vacation by himself. He thinks that being on vacation alone means he can be a little adventurous and kind of create anything he wants. So he ends up meeting these two guys that are best friends, and comes to the conclusion that he likes them both. That’s why he decides to tell them that has an identical twin and dates both guys. The endgame could be a polyamorous relationship.

I’m a fire, and I’ll keep your brittle heart warm
A fic by g0ldsfake on AO3 | @BLOUBIRDSHONEY on Twitter
12k | Not Rated | Tumblr post | Twitter post
“You’re doing the best you can, Harry. I can see that. Dory can too,” he says softly, assuringly. Harry’s breath catches in his throat. He’s needed to hear those words, he hasn’t realized till now. Harry meets his gaze once again. In his eyes, he sees that there was something deep there, something genuine, full of understanding. “Thank you,” his voice thick with emotion, “I’m glad he has you now.” Louis brushes his thumb gently over the back of the alpha’s hand. The gesture is all soft and soothing and it made Harry’s heart flutter with so much want. “You could have me too,” Louis whispers as if it was a secret, as if it was not meant to be heard by anyone. But Harry hears it loud and clear.

“Harry, my dear friend, you don’t want to start a war with Louis Tomlinson, trust me,” Niall seemed serious now, shooting Harry a warning look. He simply rolled his eyes at Niall, “So, what? I’m just supposed to put up with Louis’ incessant need to make me miserable? I don’t think he plans to stop anytime soon.” Talking it out with Louis proved to be futile, so maybe he could give the brat a taste of his own medicine. There was no guarantee that it would work, but it couldn’t hurt to try. ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖ 𐙚 ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖ Prompt 398: Harry and Louis are co-workers who do not get along. Louis is in a higher position and can be controlling at times, but Harry puts him in his place one night. They develop a friend’s with benefits relationship, which eventually ends. Louis doesn’t take long to throw himself into another relationship to get his mind off of Harry; however, his partner ends up temporarily moving away, forcing them to be long distance. They come to an agreement to have an open relationship until Louis’ boyfriend comes back. Louis decides to go to Harry to fulfill his needs.

Edit: Please note, the first and original Toker is from INDONESIA 🇮🇩, not Thailand. Sincere apologies for the mistake.
I loved this TikTok trend. The resurgence of San Sananana from Asoka (2001) jumpscared me at first because when it first came out all the radio stations were playing it every hour until we heard it in our dreams and nightmares. But this time makeup artists all over the world artists were absolutely popping off with it— the dance moves, the emotiveness, the absolute seamless transitions, the artistry, the costumes, the reveals—just absolutely amazing! I love when Bollywood brings its international audience together.
Here's a compilation of the Top 5 most viewed Tiktoks from the trend with their respective countries of origin. They've independently reported it took them an average of 12 hours per video, except for the last guy who had (and justifiably needed!) a whole team to help pull all the costumes off!

The next morning, Sunday, Emily heads over to her friend Kiran's house in San Sequoia. Emily said hi to Kiran's parents, and then she and Kiran head to the rec center. "Want to play simbles?" Kiran asks, and Emily nods. Kiran sets up the game, smiling at Emily. "Get ready to lose, Em." They say. "Excuse me, Kir. I'm the simbles champion." Emily grumbles but she smiles at them, trying not to blush as Kiran gives her a mischievous smile. Emily's still crushing on Kiran, and Kiran feels the same about Emily.
They play for a bit, and Emily laughs as Kiran dramatically holds up a piece and pretends to slam it down while placing it gently. "Ha! Take that." They say, and Emily snorts before placing down her piece. "Remember the tv jingle for the 2010s simbles commerical?" She asks. Kiran nods, their eyes lighting up. "For parents, kids, and everyone, simbles are simply fun!" They sing off key but enthusiastically. "Exactly, it's been stuck in my head ever since I saw a simtube compilation of nostalgic ads." Kiran grins. "You're such a dork, Emmy." They say. "Hey! I was bored and it seemed fun." Emily says and Kiran smiles at her. "No, I get it. I watch 2000s bollywood songs compilations for the nostalgia* too." Kiran says, pushing their glasses back up their nose. "Of course you do." Emily teases her friend, and Kiran makes a face before laughing.
They finish the game, and take a walk around the lake. Emily glances shyly at Kiran from time to time, and Kiran glances at Emily too, blushing and looking away when Emily catches them looking once. "I can't wait til I'm 13 too." Emily adds to Kiran. "You turned 13 this month, and so did Sara and Bilal and so many people from our class." Kiran grins. "Honestly, it feels the same as being 12.” They say. "I know, but I can't wait to be older and my moms can let me go to places by myself and watch pg-13 movies and dye my hair purple. It feels like March 25th can't come soon enough." Emily adds, grinning. "Take it from a wise older person, Emmy, it is not worth it to age up too quickly." Kiran jokes, trying to emulate like their grandma’s accent (a pleasant mix of Simlish and Indian**). "That's why my nani, my grandma on my mom's side, says. She says I should enjoy life now when I'm living at home and a kid which I guess I get." They add, and Emily nods. "My Po Po, my grandma on my mom’s side, says the same, she's always joking that she's old as heck and I'll be like her one day but for now just enjoy life as much as I can." She says, grinning. "So both our grandmas are the same." Kiran says, and Emily nods. "Yup." She says, stopping with Kiran as they take a break, and taking out an apple from her bag to eat as Kiran looks at some birds using their binoculars.

Books I've finished lately, in no particular order:
Tumblr media
Mexican Gothic, by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
Absolutely adored this one. Top-notch horror, and I would kill and also die for Noemí and Francis and Catalina. Makes me want to search out more Gothic horror novels. The characters are all well-crafted, with some slimy fuckin' villains, and the unfolding mystery of High Place is a delight to follow, creating a real sense of dread and mindfuckery. Chef's kiss, five mushrooms out of five.
Tumblr media
The Daughter of Doctor Moreau, by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
Lush scene-setting and descriptions. Thematically I think it has some similarities to Mexican Gothic, although Carlota as a protagonist didn't grab me quite as much as Noemí. She has a touch of the ingenue at the start, although part of the meat of the novel is her coming into her own. I definitely preferred Mexican Gothic, but the prose is still very strong. Four jaguars out of five.
Tumblr media
Imago, by M. Zakharuk
Dystopian dark academia Gothic with lots of mystery, Weird Magic, and a non-binary lesbian love story; what's not to like? The prose is immensely strong, Ada is a fascinating character to inhabit, and the town of Heilung is vividly described, even as many details of the overall regime remain tantalisingly vague. The ending felt a little abrupt, but otherwise the tension and twists were remarkably well-sustained. 4.5 eldritch runes out of 5.
Tumblr media
Dulhaniyaa, by Talia Bhatt
A Bollywood-inspired Desi lesbian romance. It didn't matter that I'm not very familiar with Bollywood; I still had a blast. It did an amazing job somehow capturing the feel of a musical number within text. A vibrant romance that doesn't shy away from high drama or sappiness. The dialogue uses a lot of Hinglish, so I came away with an expanded vocabulary. Four motorcycle chase scenes out of five.
Tumblr media
She Walks in Shadows, edited by Silvia Moreno-Garcia and Paula R. Stiles
A Lovecraftian short fiction compilation with a focus on women - a mix of Lovecraft reimaginings that centre his few female characters, and broader cosmic horror/Lovecraft-inspired works with female characters. Some favourites include "Eight Seconds" by Pandora Hope, "Cthulhu of the Dead Sea" by Inkeri Kontro, and "De Deabus Minoribus Exterioris Theomagicae" by Jilly Dreadful.
Tumblr media
Fungi, edited by Orrin Grey and Silvia Moreno-Garcia
Heehee mushroom.
A collection of fungal-themed short stories, with a pretty broad range of genres, moods, and level of fungal involvement. "Dust from a Dark Flower" by Daniel Mills is the standout favourite in spooky fungal hijinks. "The Pilgrims of Parthen" by Kristopher Riesz and "Last Bloom on the Sage" by Andrew Penn Ramine were also particularly fun.

Heya Sarah and friends! I'm still compiling the Tamil and Bollywood movies list I mentioned in this last ask
I just wanted to send this message first because I *love* all the love and thirst asks Dev is getting and I think he deserves the equal opportunity objectification that white men of the month usually get! 😂
However, I am a little squicked out by some of the language being used by your anons because it can end up becoming across as a little fetishising. It has not gotten to that point yet and I just wanted to nip it in the bud before it could!
(I really hope no one takes this ask the wrong way I just wanted to gently let y'all know as an Indian person who loves Dev too and did go on a tragic date once with a guy who had an Indian girl fetish 🤡)
you know what,y you're right and i should've trusted my gut. some of those asks made me feel a little uncomfortable but i gave them the benefit of the doubt (like maybe they were Indian as well or something) but i should've just ignored them and set a precedent. thanks for letting me know and confirming my feelings that i should've followed in the first place. and im looking forward to those recs!

299: Aaarti Mukherjee // ভোরের তারা আধুনিক বাংলা গান [Morning Star]
Tumblr media
ভোরের তারা আধুনিক বাংলা গান [Morning Star] Aarti Mukherjee 1988, His Master's Voice
Far be it from me to claim any expertise on Bengali music, but I love this little late ‘80s compilation of songs by Aarti Mukherjee (listed on the cover as “Arati” Mukherjee) whose title translates to Morning Star. It’s from a fairly obscure series from the Indian bureau of His Master’s Voice for the domestic market called Bengali Modern Songs—a few volumes are listed on Discogs, but I had to add this one myself. Mukherjee is best known as a playback singer whose prime stretched from the ‘60s to the ‘80s, providing the vocals for a generation of leading ladies to lip-synch to in the Bengali-language film industry (Tollywood). As with her peers in the better-known Hindi-language Bollywood system, Mukherjee was insanely prolific, having recorded something like 15,000 songs over the course of her career. Morning Star has only uh eight of those, but they’re all wonderful. Eloquently orchestrated (mostly synth, to my ear), with percussion that sways and wobbles like dub, the approach to melody seems clearly derived from a classical, almost operatic tradition, yet these are also pop songs. Opener “কোথাও একটা পাখী ডেকে চলছে” (“Somewhere a Bird is Calling”) almost sounds like samba, kissed with shakers, synth strings, and quirky whistles, a brief sitar bridge that gives way to a flourish of acoustic guitar. “তুমি কৃষ্ণচূড়া ফোটার দিনে” (“You Are the Day of the Black Peak”) is even better, with one of those smiling through tears melodies the subcontinent seems to specialize in, a perfect showcase for Mukherjee’s precise diction and songbird’s warble. “ভ্রমরে গুঞ্জরে সুরে বিভোর” (“There is a Buzzing Sound,” possibly) has a courtlier disposition, with a snaky rhythm that reminds me of Ottoman classical music, Mukherjee crooning over a sweet sitar riff that fills my head with every sandswept Orientalist trope an Occidental pud can imagine. I really can’t say where Mukherjee stands in the firmament of Indian music, or even where these particular songs stand amid her own unfathomably vast catalogue. But for whatever a recommendation is worth coming from someone only just beginning to explore the genre, Morning Star is superb.

I don't believe it...
Tumblr media
B.O.O.: BUREAU OF OTHERWORLDLY OPERATIONS was in production at DreamWorks around 2012-early 2015. The movie was, for the longest time, set to debut some time in 2015. It fluctuated a bit, until settling on a June 5th bow...
However, DreamWorks ran into a lot of problems in the days before they were owned by a massive conglomerate (Comcast, of course)...
They absolutely needed their ridiculously-expensive animated features to do well in order to keep them afloat. For a few years, they had an uninterrupted hit streak at the box office (from KUNG FU PANDA in mid-2008 to MADAGASCAR 3 in mid-2012, a good four year run with nine movies) and all seemed well... But RISE OF THE GUARDIANS didn't meet their expectations when it wrapped up its leggy run in early 2013, it was deemed a big ol' flop, 350+ staffers were laid off, and the film ME AND MY SHADOW was cancelled and later morphed into SHADOWS... Which didn't seem to go forward thereafter.
Then TURBO lost money in 2013, MR. PEABODY & SHERMAN lost money in early 2014, HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2 stayed flat domestically, and PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR was fall guyed - I guess - for not making typical MADAGASCAR numbers. ($500m+ region.) DreamWorks had a very bad week in January 2015... When the executives shuttered sister studio Pacific Data Images, put 500+ people out of work, and severely cut down on the movies they were making. B.O.O. was one of those movies, and it was **near done**. Merchandise... Merchandise! Was made and sold for this thing! The stuff is out there in the wild. The DRAWING FOR NOTHING book, its compiler the account that tweeted this detail, has a whole section dedicated to the unfinished movie.
Tumblr media
And DreamWorks execs just... Cancelled it. It was said to have had story problems, but instead, DreamWorks decided to lose $100m on it *and* proceeded to lose more money by cancelling a picture called BOLLYWOOD SUPERSTAR MONKEY. A much different PUSS IN BOOTS 2 was removed from the boards, and so was MADAGASCAR 4. These movies all would've been released before 2019, if all had gone according to plan.
So... This has to be a typo, because we know that DreamWorks already has three pictures lined up for this year:
KUNG FU PANDA 4 is out in two months, its trailer available to view. THE WILD ROBOT follows in September. ORION AND THE DARK releases on Netflix in a month... Four features from DreamWorks would seem rather... Ermmm... Exhausting for the animators? And a lot for Universal and Netflix to market?
So... B.O.O. coming out this year seems like a pipe dream. How much of it was left to finish back in 2015 anyways? If someone wanted to finish it? I'd imagine the newly-created scenes would kinda jar with the 2014/15-era scenes in terms of technological progression and such.
But... How does one of the trades make an error like that? If it is indeed one... (I'm sure it is.)
It would be the most surreal thing, though, if DreamWorks randomly decided to finish this movie some decade later and release it.

How to watch Sally Bollywood in the 2020s?
TL;DR: I wanted to watch an obscure childhood favorite of mine but struggled to find it. Eventually found it right there on YouTube.
RAMBLING INTRO:
During my kid to early teen years, I was obsessed with a show called Sally Bollywood: Super Detectives. I made YTPs, wrote her into a butt ton of fanfiction, and made my PfP on Sonic Amino and Wattpad an image of her. But like most things for some reason I stopped watching it, this has happened a lot with my interests as a child I would make up an excuse like me growing up, worry people would judge me for it, or deem the series as being the devil? (I still don't know how that last one got into my child-brain, it was about Yokai Watch btw). But in the past few years starting from late 2020 onwards, I have started revisiting these things. Some I still have little interest in for actually valid reasons but the important ones have all stuck around. (I.e Yokai Watch, MySims, etc) So my next move is to let Sally back in. But without Quobo the channel it was most known for being on how was I supposed to watch it?
SENSICAL:
Sally Bollywood's first season is streamable in full on what claims to be "the safest free streaming service for kids" Sensical. At first, the layout of this site confused me but once I found the search bar I was good.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is all well and good but how do I watch season 2? Sensical excludes the second season entirely and Wikipedia has little information on it besides episode names and a few air dates. At first, I thought this meant season 2 was lost media but I have actually seen episode 11 Night At The Museum on YouTube. How did they get the episode?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
EDIT: The one I found on YouTube is actually season 1 episode 7 Trouble At the Museum not Night At the Museum. Still, there are season 2 episodes reuploaded onto YouTube so still, how did they get the episode?
PRIME VIDEO:
Likely this is how. In some parts of the world, I'm not sure where the series is available on Prime Video. If you have a VPN and know exactly where it can be found then you can watch it there, I unfortunately cannot. For some reason, they do appear to be missing episode 1 and likely a few others. This will not do.
Tumblr media
🏴‍☠️:
The full series is available on a site, just out of order... For the most part, there is very loose continuity so I suppose it doesn't matter which order it is watched but I personally hate this! Everything I watch I strive to watch in chronological order oldest to newest so for me there is no way in hell I'm watching it on this site.
Tumblr media
Episode 1 is supposed to be Cockroach Capers.
YOUTUBE:
Finally, after much searching, I found it where I should have gone in the first place, YouTube. The official Sally Bollywood channel has every single episode in both English and French separated in playlists but also combined into hour-long videos and mixed around into compilations. All the Sally you could ever want is right here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another thing I found particularly interesting is their affiliation with LoliRock. This is another nostalgic show I have always loved, never in my life would I have imagined Iris, Talia, and Aurianna being friends with Sally and Doowee. The category is translated via Google Translate to: "Other friends for more adventures!". They are also both now connected to Totally Spies which I have not seen but know some people may find that interesting.
IN CONCLUSION:
If you want to watch this obscure children's show after the death of Qubo, here it is! Qubo had a very diverse catalog of shows and when it ended these shows belonged to so many different people who know what happened to them! I hope that all of them at least found a home somewhere whether it's YouTube or a free streaming service. I was so worried this would be partially lost now but glad it is alive. This is off-topic but there are four Sally Flash games I'm not sure of the origins of, I'm not sure how to get them working so that is actually lost media right there.
Tumblr media
I do have a plugin that can make some Flash games playable again but it only works for games that have been archived. Anyway, enough rambling I have a show to watch bye!
