I've just had the Clan cats be boiling and skimming, especially since that fat's actually really important for them. Especially in WindClan where the fat quantity of rabbits is so low that every little bit of congealed lard is important.

if i was a kitty cat id be roasting whole chickens in the oven every day seasoning it whith that nip and checking the internal temperature and shit... share it with my kitty friends and we all have our different preferences for what part of the meat we like so you know we enjoy it fully. except for the bones you know cus that shits dangerous for cats so then i take the leftover bones and make a nice broth we can sip on for the rest of the day while we lay back and play checkers or smack eachother for no reason

The average male boar is 440 pounds, which is 200 kilograms, 200,000 g x 5 = 1 million calories.

That will feed an entire Clan for months. All through the three months of winter. Boar meat is sososososo worth it, it's INSANE. ThunderClan should actually be The Fat Clan, these guys are partaking of the sweet fat of the hog and absolutely rolling in extra calories.

(This is actually why I draw a lot of my ThunderClan cats with bellies, like Lionblaze. This man finds himself in the path of food because his Clan has lots to offer lmao)

Ducks are a REALLY good target for Clans, also. Average mallard drake is 3.5 pounds, 1.5 kilos, 9,000 calories. One duck feeds the entire Clan for a day.

I will say though, EXTRA knowledge; remember that calories don't necessarily satiate hunger! A lot of factors do, but you can summarize them with weight in the context of cats. My cat's usually full around 85 grams, but I know some cats who can hoover a big can of food in a single sitting.

(long answer: protein, fiber, thickness, if you had a drink beforehand, eating slowly, etc. But we're talking about prey meat here)

So your stellar's jay example is usually about 100 to 120 grams (though since my guys are in England, they wouldn't encounter those), which would basically be a meal two cats share. If that's breakfast they'll have hit all their calories for the day, but they'll still feel hungry for lunch and dinner.

This is why soups are so cool btw. This was a soup post all along. It's soupaganda time

Not only do you get that boost from cooking the meat here, but the value is more evenly distributed through the whole dish, the weight of the broth languishes in the stomach to make you feel full, AND ALSO IT'S A CLEAN SOURCE OF HYDRATION. You BOILED the water and didn't even think about it. That 120g prey item is now nutrition for 3 cats, a whole meal for 6, plus an easy way to get more water into sick warriors who may not feel like eating.

Get yourself some mushrooms, a couple pieces of prey, whatever leftovers that would otherwise go to waste, and BAM you've got your whole Clan stuffed and happy, even if they didn't manage to hit the caloric minimum of the day.

Tiefling head canons

Because I'm in a mood and thinking about tieflings makes me happy. Some of these I've thought up independently, some I've seen elsewhere online and can't recall where but I've just folded into my head canons.

Totally got this idea from another person's post but I fully embrace that some tieflings can purr. In those that can it ranges from a noise that's high in the throat or very deep in the chest. I like the idea some can do it at almost a subsonic frequency so there's not any noise but their whole chest/body still vibrates.

Tieflings have dark-vision - therefore they have that cat eye glow in low light/the dark. No I will not accept feedback at this time.

I am always a fan of them having other senses sharper than humans. Not like 'I can smell your blood through your skin from across the room and hear a cricket fart' kind of thing - but definitely pick up on things a human is nearly sure to miss.

Not a fan of tieflings going into a true heat/rut where they go totally 'must fuck now' but them getting a random heightened burst of pheromones now and then after they've been with a partner for a while - especially if there's been a lot of biting involved. Basically it's the tiefling equivalent of women who get really super frisky right around the time they ovulate.

A very common home remedy among tieflings is a mixture of broth, oil, and sulfur - and every family has it's own ratios. In that same vein a common hangover cure is broth, charcoal, and oil.

Diets are the epitome of 'opportunistic'. They prefer meat heavy diets, especially rare/raw red meats, while also enjoy the gristle, bone marrow, and blood. They can eat anything a human could, and quite a bit humans can't. This includes rocks, bones, some things that are mildly toxic/poisonous, and foods that have have gone off with minimal to no ill effects.

Because of previous point - food poisoning is extremely rare for them to get.

Tail body language is just as much apart of conversations as hand gestures and while much of it is similar to cats - meanings can get complicated.

I see horn grabbing/pulling a lot in posts but I don't feel a lot of tieflings as being super comfortable with it if the other person isn't also a tiefling.

Honestly, I see a lot of tieflings being wary about non-tieflings trying to get with them because it seems to me a lot of people in world would either demonize or fetishize their "infernal traits".

That being said, they're also not opposed to relationships outside of other tieflings and some tieflings will happily use people's curiosity/fetishization to their advantage and work at brothels.

If a tiefling has one or both parents who aren't tieflings, then they can take on traits from the non-tiefling parent (ex. one parent is an elf, tiefling kid has a lifespan more akin to a half-elf). They, and their kids, are also more likely to have a kid that does not look like tiefling if they have a baby with another non-teifling.

I fully think that a solid 1/3 of all "surprise" tiefling babies are not because a parent made an infernal pact, but because both parents somewhere in their lineage have a tiefling ancestor and they just don't know.

You've heard of tieflings being raised by humans? Well I think, because of the last two points, the reverse happens as well and you can get what appears to be a fully human/elf child birthed and raised by a tiefling.

Tieflings totally have a higher normal body temp. Probably around the 100F-105F range.

Regardless of how big or small their horns are, their skulls are still thicker for weight distribution. Many tieflings can, and will, headbutt someone in a fight. Even if a horn doesn't hit you - the blow is likely to break a bone in your face and they will not even be fazed.

Headaches and neck/shoulder tension is really, really common both because of the added weight of the horns when they're adults and when the horn itself is first growing in as a kid.

I imagine most tieflings have horns that are primarily made up of a keratin sheath around a much smaller horn bone (like how cow or goat horn are). Because of this they don't have lots of feeling in their horns and some tieflings might pierce their horns in places for decoration.

Some tieflings that have antlers also shed their antlers just like deer do. I will not be taking feedback at this time.

The pattern and shape of ridges on their skin is unique to every tiefling - but most of them tend to appear and follow bones closer to the surface (ribs, hips, knees, elbows, etc)

LAIOS AND LANCE WOULD BE FRIENDS AND SPEND HOURS NERDING IT OUT ABOUT MONSTERS!!! Lance would be shocked to hear Laios has eaten monsters.

The rest of adventurers, the ninjas, and the wizard would be horrified but some would cope better than others 😂😂😂 He tries to take a bite of Kiwi before realizing she can communicate, and Jio almost kills him (yells at him for hours). Daia tries to seduce Laios but he's completely oblivious and she's so irritated about that. Alesia asks Yoba what she's done to deserve this torture. Isaac flatly refuses to speak to him. Laios takes a serving of Magnus' cauldron every time he swings by. Marlon doesn't let him meet Krobus because he knows Laios would be very weird about him. Even Camilla would be annoyed at him I believe.

The possibilities are endless 😂

I started getting familiar with this fandom when a friend of mine recommended me to read this manga. Quite a good manga btw, I like it 👀 But I haven't finished it yet, so no spoilers shhh 🤫

About the main characters in the SDV universe - there are so many possibilities for interesting stories (especially funny ones), you're so right!

Laios and Lance will quickly become friends, though our gallant adventurer would definitely be flummoxed by Laios' suggestion to make stew from a shadow brute or broth from the bones of a skeleton monster. On the other hand, the same Farmer cooks steak from bug flesh and eats roasted meat of a fallen serpent (spicy eel), so Lance has nothing to be particularly surprised about.

If Laios' first encounter was with the ninjas in Ridgeside Village, he wouldn't even pay attention to Kiwi's protests when he grabbed her and wanted to take a bite. Thankfully, Jio manages to knock him on the head with such force that he completely forgets about the food.

Izutsumi will definitely show interest in Rae and ask about her curse like she has, though Rae is a spirit, not a cursed one. Speaking of Izutsumi: Camilla will definitely be the first person to pet Izutsumi like a cat and be able to avoid the claws and fangs of the irritated beast-man. Belinda will be second, but I think Izutsumi will rip her sleeve for that 😆

Alesia, I believe, will be pretty cool with the unusual company (even despite their leader's weirdness), while Isaac will try to stay away from them.

Daia will collapse from failed flirting with Laios, because all her flirting and hints in his direction are like peas against a wall. It's useless. But it's funny. Fucking hilarious, actually.

And now, my dear mutual, I offer you a little shitty scenario of how the Dungeon Meshi hero Laios helped our mages and adventurers from SVE to defeat Apophis:

Let’s talk a bit more about character designs!

Meet Cheng Yanxu (程燕栩), also known as Mimi (咪咪), one of two heroines in our newest visual novel.

A woman in her mid-20s. Our protagonist’s ex-girlfriend, a gloomy and introverted pretty girl who seems very attached to her cellphone.

Throughout the game, she wears a black cat hoodie over a pink dress—a semi-pastel goth attire. Frills and jirai-kei fashion would suit her!

For her day job, she would wear a more plain outfit, but these are her casual clothes.

The key points about Yanxu’s design:

extra color in her hair! (self-explanatory)

girlish quietness! (a slightly gloomy vibe but she is doing her best)

kitty cellphone case! (a cat motif, like her nickname)

From the oldest sketches of Yanxu’s design (pen on paper the oldest), you can see that much of her design was set quite early on: hairstyle, jacket, dress, cat phone!

Initially, I contemplated giving her dyed strands of hair in her bangs, but for ease of drawing, the dyed hair was moved to the back.

You might’ve noticed the messy note “maybe no jacket” in the old pen on paper sketch, but I decided to keep the hoodie for a bit more of a cozy look. (Though it’s never quite mentioned in game, the story takes place in autumn!)

Although the neck area of the dress was modified from a collar to a turtleneck look, her dress kept a relatively simple look for ease of drawing given that this was a jam game! I hope I still conveyed her cute-femme and slightly gloomy vibes. (I want to see her in a frilly outfit too…!)

And the kitty phone case is a kitty phone case all the way through! (Although she got a phone strap to attach to it once I iterated on the case a bit)

What about colors?

Unless particularly plot necessary, I don’t usually think too much about colors when drawing my initial sketches. Thus, I had quite an adventure deciding the palette while making her character sheet.

In another world, she would have a yellow/orange palette with light brown hair!

The main limitations for the cast’s colors were:

There can’t be too much overlap between their main colors.

Their hair colors must be natural or reasonably obtainable (for the human cast).

Even the pink highlight in the back of her hair wasn’t decided until lots of trial and error later. Initially, I tried light blue streaks in her bangs before quickly transitioning to indigo-blue dyed hair in the back.

After lots of experimentation with the colors for her outfit, I ultimately went back up and added the pink.

Color, what a thing!

It seems that she’s more expressive around our protagonist Hailu…
