Zharie can’t focus on the fact that her mom turned into a zombie before she died, or that her new (and cute) neighbor, Bo, can also turn into a zombie as well. She has to find out why her mom died—and why she’s seeing zombies everywhere!

So…what I thought this book was: a zombie romance (zombies + romance). What this book actually is: (romance with hypothetical zombies). I will admit I was kinda disappointed that this wasn’t the genre that I thought it was, but overall this was a decent book. It explored love, romance, sacrifice, grief and death in a thoughtful way but used zombies in a metaphorical bridge to get those points across. If you’re looking for an easy segue to horror or horror/romances this a good book to start with.

i'm never going to say that you have to be blonde to be a pretty pretty princess, but i do get what you mean. if he isn't blonde does he get called britney? does he get bullied as a child for being so pretty? if he doesn't get bullied does that affect his connection to and friendship with lewis as children? does it affect the way the rest of the grid saw him? how would that affect his sad wet little kitten vibes that are so integral to his character? arguably being blonde is a more important aspect of nico's personal history and character than the polyglot thing. that's a genuinely hard thing to consider
