Questions for C Control Pt.2

(As a follow-up for the previous post I made about questions I had about C Control, I decided to make a part 2 since I found that there were, in fact, a few questions still lingering in my head 🤔)

(These questions are mostly just ones I came up with for fun while I was re-watching the show(because that's a thing I do on an average Thursday night 😋))

(ALSO note that this one is somewhat longer than the previous one)

-Hypothetically, what would happen if a Midas representative had a child? Would the child be able to go along with life normally, or would they have some sort of 'special perk'? Are Midas representatives even able to have children????

-In episode 8(in specifically the Japanese sub), Kimimaro calls out to Masakaki, and right after Masakaki actually shows up, Kimimaro admits that he had 3 other ways of getting his attention if yelling didn't work out. I just wonder, what were those other ways?

-In episode 3, Sato mentions two things:

1. The size of each financial district varies on the economic state of the portion of the world it covers, with the far Eastern countries having the largest districts(which would mean that at least most countries located in Asia must be quite huge)

2. There is at least one agent in each financial district trying to get more information on the bank(I believe?)

-Both of these made me come up with several questions:

-Exactly how small could a district possibly be? And which districts are the smallest?

-I wish we could've gotten the point of view from agents in other countries, because how are their investigations doing? Is there possibly any information on the bank that we didn't get to hear about in the show?

-I've been wondering this for quite a bit now actually- But could a person take a picture of the representatives? Or would it be glitched out like with Alastor from Hazbin Hotel? (I don't think there's really a reason for this question lmao- I just think it's fun to think about someone taking a picture of one of the Midas bankers and sharing it with all their friends...Totally not something I'd do in real life, haha 😊)

-I don't think we've ever gotten a full list of the rules in the district, so I wonder how many rules there are? What if a person were to break one or at least several of them?...Or all of them?

-What if a person refused to take part in a deal? I'd imagine there'd be automatic consequences for them(like them immediately 'losing' the deal), but again, it's fun imagining a representative having to physically force a person to participate...

-So say if a child had their own bank account and stuff, would they be viable to become an entre? Are children entres a thing in the financial district???

-...Could female Midas representatives exist? Could that be a possible thing??? This is the question that truly plagues me every night(/hj)

-Does a representative have to do their job? Could they possibly just...Not do anything at all and completely neglect the district? Could one of them maybe even live a normal 'human' life like everyone else, without the district? Or is there something constraining them from that?

-Say if C was about to take place, and after a person was informed of that, they decided to go on a plane and travel to a different country/continent in an attempt to escape C- Would that work??? Could they just...Completely avoid being wiped from existence by going somewhere different????

-Okay I KNOW this is probably very unlikely in the world of C Control, but what would happen if someone with supernatural powers entered the district? Would they be able to use their abilities during deals, or would that be considered cheating?

-Follow up for the previous question, could an entre use outside weapons in deals? Like a gun, for example? Or would that, again, be considered cheating?

-Finally- What exactly happened at the end of the show? I've heard people say that Kimimaro sold his future(and therefore no longer has the future he would've gotten), and I'm willing to go with that theory- But I'm still a bit unsure 🤔

Was ruminating on how Miles and Miguel are technically both 'Spider-man 2' in their respective universes. Got me thinking about the other Spider-successors in the cast, and also what if they all got matching T-shirts or something.

So I just discovered a cool conversation that spun off from one of my tag monologues on a gifset—I'd seen the initial tag peer review, but hadn't realized they'd gone further than that until @ladytharen tagged me. Yet again I didn't want to pester the original gifmaker too much, so I decided to respond separately to the part I found especially interesting.

For context, these were my original tags on the "This little thing? Just something I slipped on :)" Kirk captivity scene from "Tomorrow is Yesterday":

#captain gender strikes again! #i appreciate the read on this scene as 'captain kirk is a queer guy flirting with random 20th cent dudes holding him captive. bicon' #but personally my read is 'captain kirk is a queer guy deliberately leaning into effeminacy to fuck with hypermasc douchebros #from the very era in which the show was made irl. bicon' #it's definitely flirty but it is an aggressively feminine-coded flirtiness that's going to triply bother these kinds of guys #ngl i feel like kirk enjoys fucking with gender norms in all directions just because of who he is as a person (his true gender: diva) #but it's extra fun when it lets him troll ultra-military assholes neurotic about their own masculinity who are trying to intimidate HIM #(these guys aren't his type at all - christopher is much more that - but as usual that's not the point of the flirtation #k/s is nerd4nerd but also troll4troll)

I was really intrigued by this response from @mycroftrh, and thinking about it again on this inauguration of Pride month.

Yep, exactly. You can absolutely see the moment when he decides on exactly which side of his personality he's going to use for maximum effect on these gender policing, homophobic, ultra-military, paranoid bigots from the 60s:

I do think it's interesting that the full scene includes not only Kirk's bisexual chaos gremlin diva genderfuckery (enrichment for him!) but moments of fear and defiance:

He doesn't drop the flamboyance until he wants to, though. And the framing, lighting, angles etc only serve to emphasize their attempts to loom even more over him, aggressively get into his space, gesture right at his face to unsettle him, and his refusal to be intimidated by these fundamentally pathetic responses that are by no means free from real danger, just silly and contemptible nevertheless. It's not that he's too disdainful or amused at his own hijinks to understand how easily this could go very wrong. He simply has no respect for these men and enjoys leveraging their own hang-ups against them.

His eye make-up is also more than usually noticeable in the close-ups in this scene—even compared to other scenes in the same episode—which seems maybe not unrelated!

I think it's also worth pointing out that, TOS make-up aside, Kirk's navigation of gender performance in the original series is ... let's say, idiosyncratic. Most of the 23rd-century male characters are far more inflexible and singular about what gendered roles they're willing or able to inhabit. Kirk specifically is very deliberately fluid and versatile and theatrical about a lot of things, very much including gender performance and sexuality.

thinking about how deeply lucanis' life has been defined by a lack of control of that life -- as he himself points out, even before the ossuary went and carved the headline out again with big bloody letters. of course he reacts badly to losing what little control he did manage to construct for himself even within those circumstances.

(namely: experience has taught him that things (caterina, loss, pain, love, all horribly and indelibly intermingled) will happen to him whether he wants them to or not and there's nothing he can do about that... but he gets to decide what's let in or out of his soul as it happens, even if he has to close it all down and deaden and numb himself out in the process. (even if that means he drifts further and further away from illario, who's been desperately reaching out and trying to keep hold of him until he finally gives up completely and tries to cut the bond all at once when lucanis doesn't seem to reach back anymore.) it's such rare well-observed freeze logic solidly constructed from the bottom up, I'm still so impressed with it.

the way illario seeks constant external means to cope with caterina's abuse and importance in his life -- he can't win her admiration or acceptance or warmth (or like. acknowledgement even, at times :') ), no matter what, so he goes out and finds those things in others and then disdains and dismisses it for how easily and falsely it's won from them. he plots, he conspires, he tries to beat her at her own game however clumsily, he tries. lucanis doesn't try things that way. he's not about 'how do I improve my situation' by nature, he's 'how can I stop this from getting worse'. he avoids, he internalizes, he hunkers down and makes himself nothing until the pain maybe ends. he's fundamentally not a plotter, he's a reacter. an expert assassin pantser, if you will, to illario's clear and stated exasperation fhsak. man I love them. illario says 'get us out of here!!! if you loved me as I love you you'd help me get us out of here before it kills us both', lucanis says 'there is no other place, there's nowhere to go, all we can do is endure. and if it kills us... well, that's just family. that's what love is (the way things are headed I'll die first anyway so it's fine I won't have to face losing you)', and they're equally baffled and hurt by each other's POV. but they're both right, and they're both wrong. there's no 'right' way to deal with caterina's treatment of them, or their situation. the house always wins, if you pardon the expression. house dellamorte still stands and that is what matters to caterina in the end more than anything.

it also fits so well b/c like... their core wounds are that illario is the least favourite and is constantly dismissed, so he has to prove to caterina again and again that he matters. not even that he's worth love or respect or warm regard, but that he's here at all and as such should be considered. he has to shout 'in case u forgot I EXIST!!' at the top of his lungs or else be rendered nothing within the family structure (and himself, because it's all about family, that's all that really matters. in some weird twisted way I think caterina openly declaring him before all the other crows to still be of house dellamorte -- and no one from house dellamorte kneels -- is kind of a victory for him, as much as it's also a furthering of a prison sentence and public humiliation. house dellamorte brainfuckery goes hard.). lucanis is the favourite, and it's the double-edged sword that he gets all the affection and attention but also all the control and impossible expectations. drowning under all of that constant stress and close evaluation, his brain whispers 'I don't exist' to try to escape, to hide and hold on to the deep parts of himself that are crucial to life but not part of the perfect grandson caterina demands of him as the price of her love.)

I think a lot about how what seems to disquiet lucanis the most post-ossuary (as it would anyone with that psychological makeup) is the dissolving of internal boundaries and control he's been relying on, which is part of what spite symbolizes. his anger and reactivity has seceded from the union to the point of personification as a little guy (a little guy he resents and fears for his unpredictability and invasions into regions of his psyche he wishes to stay frozen and barren, and yet cares about deeply, loves! and also constantly dismisses and frequently helplessly lets down unless he's helped to learn to do otherwise. does this remind you of another relationship in his life, perhaps. it makes me feel nuts to think about the illario/spite parallels thanks for asking), and now that little guy is out there running the show freely the moment he glances away or closes his eyes. literal nightmare scenario I feel for him so deeply. so much of his coping is predicated on being able to Not do or feel or want certain things, and that's out the window now, Spite has Opinions. Spite refuses to stay wisely in place even if that place is hell on the logic that if you move you could find yourself in a place that's even worse, somehow. Spite actually wants to experience the world, however fucked up and scarring the way he arrived here, not just endure it. Spite means he has to face that maybe illario wasn't wrong all those years, at the same time as having to admit and face what illario has done to him, and figure out what to do about any of it.

So, it's time for cringe and backstory while I'm resting after translating a fanfic and having a mental breakdown as a result, I'm slowly cleaning up the mess in my head and at my place.

And so I found an old sketchbook from 10 years ago.

Yes, yes, I came up with almost all the characters from The End of District 10 years ago, when I was 13. Cringe, I know.

But during this time, the characters have been significantly reworked, as you can see from the example of the 13th himself, even though he's in the same suit.

(although anyone who's read the comic knows that he doesn't like it and was almost forced to put it on)

Now I look and see that I've made at least some progress in my skill, and in character design too. (Plus, if anyone will read the fanfic themselves, you'll understand that I'm trying to make the characters non-one-dimensional)

And what do you think? Has much changed in the 10 years between these two drawings?

@polosat0chka I couldn't help but notice quite a bit of similarity between 11th and Kami(a bandmember of Malice Mizer) are(brown hair, purple clothing, primary butterfly motif) and I really couldn't help but draw 11th as the latter (☆▽☆)

-The lighting in this drawing doesn't really make sense, but...Well, let's just ignore that, shall we? 😅

-I realize now it's been quite a while since I've drawn 11th(more than 2 years already)! I truly do want to draw him more often, he's fun to draw and his whole thing with butterflies adds more possible elements I could add ^ ^

-Originally this was supposed to be something quick and simple, but obviously, it's become a little more than just that(I started drawing this on Sep. 28th...Anddd it's Oct. 14th at the time I'm posting this, so 🧍‍♀️)

-Since it's October and I'm depicting 11th "dressed up" as someone else, I guess this could be considered Halloween fanart in a way?? 🤔

-The background is supposed to depict his district, however, I'm not all that great at drawing backgrounds yet, so I may not have drawn it the best 😅

-The flower on his shirt is supposed to depict a yellow hyacinth, and as for why I chose to draw a yellow hyacinth, I'll let you figure that out yourself :3

-The makeup under his eye is supposed to be a butterfly wing! :D

-The colors, for some reason, look much more accurate on computer than mobile(the colors are more saturated on mobile, at least for me), so I really do hope that whatever device you're seeing this on, the colors look at least decent ^ ^ ✨

-Also, here's a picture of the sketch since I quite like it!

Danny and Damien are twins au, but a slightly redeemed vlad makes Danny the CEO of Vlad Co and DALV and all his other shell companies. Danny is danny, he got pushed into this against his will and is very overwhelmed by CEO duties, so he reaches out to one of his father's sons, Timothy Drake-Wayne, for advice

So, danny definitely knows his heritage in this au. He was the spare to Damien's heir, and while their relationship was strained by the constant competition, they still love each other, even when Danny started to show more proficiency in infiltration and subterfuge than assassination. Damien and Danny have a huge fight before Danny leaves, with Damien swearing to never forgive Danny for his betrayal, while Danny is like "what betrayal??? I just cant bring myself to kill someone outside of self-defense??"

(One of the things I hate about Danny and Damien Twin AUs is this depiction that, just because (usually) Danny is unwilling to kill, that makes him weak and a traitor. You think the medical staff in the LoA are assassinating people? Or the lawyers? He's not useless, he's just not good as an assassin)

He was sent to the Fentons at like... seven? eight? to study how the Fentons are purifying lazurus waters from Jack and Maddie, both of whom are partly sponsored by the League of Assassins. He's also learning more about spying from Jack, surprisingly, because no one would expect him of being a top tier spy. He has the occasional mission as a child, but it's mostly shadowing Jack to learn how to spy.

Danny sends letters to both Talia and Damien regarding updates on his training and the Fenton's research, but after a year of no reply from Damien, it's only to Talia. He's feels super hurt by this, and abandoned by the LoA, but the Fentons are kind and familial, and Talia visits once a year. She's unwilling to risk visiting more often, lest she risk getting the JL or the Spiders attention, but sometimes she even manages to visit on his birthday!

(Meanwhile, Talia starts sending birthday assassins to kill Damien so she can spend their birthday with Danyal. She's a really hot and cold mom.

Talia: You can choose me, and have a birthday dinner. Or you can choose your father and have a birthday assassin. You're choice. )

When Slade blows up the LoA, Danyal is given permanent orders to remain as Daniel Fenton until Talia, and only Talia, brings him back to the League. No missions and only one letter every six months. But when Ra's comes back to life and the League is back in power, Talia... never tells Danyal. Because she's seen how happy Damien is being a normal child with their father and wants that for Danyal too. Plus, she wants to continue to have a good relationship one of her children, sue her bruce.

So Danny is completely convinced that the League is mostly gone other than his mother, her zealots, and knows that his brother is living with their father. and he's... relieved. His brother is safe, and his mom told him their grandfather was avenged, so Danny can just enjoy his life. Which he does.

He sends out his six month report days before the portal accident.

Canon stuff happens until Danny is sixteen and Vlad, the fruitloop, steps down as CEO and strong-arms Danny into becoming CEO in his place. Jack and Maddie (who at this point know [or have always known in Jack's case, adn Danny didn't appreciate his dad using his his poker face against him like that] about Phantom) are thrilled.

Vlad is using his "foster son" (Dark Danny, but in this idea, he's Dante Masters) as an excuse as to why he's stepping down, since Dante needs all the attention he can give as a "troubled youth". Danny secretly hopes Dante kills Vlad in his sleep, but signs the papers away.

And there's so much work.

Danny has some idea of what he's doing (Vlad co is a tech company and DALV is weapons manufacturing, plus vlad gave him a crash course on CEOing). Sam and Tuck even help! But he wishes there was someone who could understand the pain of being a CEO while still a teen. But... his father's son, his brother, is one such person. And even though the other would never know, he really wanted to get to know his other siblings. So Danny reaches out for advice to Timothy Drake-Wayne.

Tim is immediately on guard when this Damien clone walks into his office claiming to be the new Vlad Co CEO. The clone acts nothing like Damien, but he still thinks this Danny Fenton is a league plant.

His paranoia doubles when Damien freaks out and confesses that A) Danny is apparently his twin brother and B) that he's been with the League of Assassins this whole time. Damien, who really doesn't want to admit that the reason he forced himself to forget his brother was because said brother didn't want to kill people, says "Tch. I didn't want to associate with the likes of him, so I put him out of my mind." Tim now believes that he's dealing with a master assassin with a huge grudge against Damien and Danyal showing no signs of malicious or aggression in their meetings only convinces him that Danyal is a master actor too.

Which, Danyal is a master actor. But all that other stuff is just Tim reaching.

Questions I have for C Control

I remember that I think a while ago, I said I'd make a post with questions I had for C Control, since personally, certain parts slightly confused me, and I came out having questions I wished the creators would've answered...So, here's that post :3

(Not sure who would need this post, but I guess I'm really just doing this for fun lol)

(Also note that really all of these questions are about Masakaki and the Midas Bank(what can I say? They're very mysterious 🤭))

-How and when were the districts made?

-What's the point for all of the districts anyway?

-Who exactly is Midas? Or, the person we saw at the end of the anime in robes?

-How were Masakaki and his 'clones' created? Why were they created?

-I just wonder, what would Masakaki do if there were several entres that needed his help at once? Would he be able to clone himself? (As if there weren't already enough Masakakis, haha...)

-What happens to the representatives when their district is destroyed? Do they also die along with it??

-So, if the Midas Bank and the representatives have likely been around for centuries, then surely the district's architecture and the bankers' clothes must've changed depending on the time period, right??? (If so, then I wonder where the bankers got all their clothes from...)

-Another question I came up with to entertain myself: I wonder how the bankers would interact with modern technology? 🤔

-Hypothetically, what would happen if the Midas Bank were to get rid of everything? Get rid of every country, every continent...Can that even happen? What would happen to the Midas Bank then?

-Other than having their districts destroyed, can the representatives die? For example, if a piano were to be dropped on them, would they die from that or would they just...Come back??

And that's all the questions I have for now...Might make a part 2 if I end up having more 🧐

I'm eternally an enthusiast of the way Sylus always ends up turning the tables on MC. He's always in control of the situation, even when chained up. A true predator at heart, toying a bit with his prey before pouncing 😌🩷
