Howdy!

Footprint is an animated short film created by Massie Hashemi, produced at Texas A&M College of Architecture. It follows Ava, a little girl who stumbles across a baby sea turtle wedged in a bottle. Throughout the struggle to release him, Ava witnesses first-hand the bigger issue that threatens the lives of many marine animals, that her ocean has become a global garbage can.

Massie is the writer, director, and animator for this project. She started this team a year ago and built up a team of 15 people from seven countries to help her so far. Now, she is seeking new talents who have a passion for animation and planet Earth, specifically, issues related to animals’ rights to join her team.

Digital Emily 2.1 CG Animated Cyborg AI - Blender 2.8x

The model is Digital Emily from the Wikihuman Project.  I added just a few cybernetic greeble components of my own and rendered her with Blender 2.81 Cycles render engine just to see what render time might be.  Each frame took about 25 seconds.

#spacejam2 is out and I’m proud to say I got to work on it- even for a brief time! It’s a Bucketlist experience for me to have worked on the #LooneyTune characters since I’m more of a #Disney guy! (I animated Wyle E Coyote for a commercial once but that’s it!) Thank you to animation director @spike.brandt ! This is an unused shot I animated as a test scene (this was during a game play sequence which was ultimately created in #cganimation by the great #animators at @ilmvfx it’s not fully inbetweened. 🔈 Another one from even deeper in the archives. This one I made over 6 or 7 years ago. If I remember correctly, I made this in my free time between my internship at @mainframe.co.uk. I was trying to create new work so I could make myself a showreel (I hated everything I’d made up to that point and didn’t really have enough work to fill a reel anyway). So I think this was just the outcome of needing to create something and wanting to experiment further with my 3D and “directing” (in hard air quotes). I guess I was going for that retro/mid-century modern kind of look.
