Harry smiled as he stroked James’s hair.
“You beautiful man,” he told him so quietly. “Do you have any idea how wonderful it is to love you?”
His unbelievably exquisite, cherished green eyes opened to slits, then directed his heavy-lidded gaze up to his partner. “I can hazard a guess.”
Harry smirked and ruffled his hair. “I thought you were asleep.”
“I was. I actually woke up a little while ago.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“Just wanted to cuddle?”
“Yeah.”
He fixed the golden mop of hair. “You’re cute. I guess.” James grunted and tucked his head in to the crevice of Harry’s side and the blanket.
A moment later they both got a little surprise. Harry placed his hand on his girth and James’s head rose from its would-be resting place, transfixed on his husband’s large belly.
“It kicked.”
“Yeah, I know. It kicked me in the head.” He glanced at Harry when he laughed.
“Aw, they were just saying h— oh. Feisty today. — hey!”
James settled his hand on the last place the tiny foot had complained. To his delight, his palm was met by another jab; he rubbed the spot with utmost affection. “Hi, little one.”

YEAH CAN I GET A UHHHHHHHHH HOLIDAY BARBIE // SRY BARBIE MACHINE BROKE // FUCK U MONTY (<- literally what it's called in Notes lmao)
“For the second time, I’ll give you the watch if—“
“For the second time, what?! C’mon, Moonman! I can’t hear ya; either get closer, or speak up.”
“I can’t turn up my volume, Gator - I’m at max. You need your hearing sensitivity fixed.”
“Then lower your line a little more, I can’t make hide or hair. We gotta do this every time?”
“You heard me say that, so what’s the problem?”
“I heard half of it, which was enough to know what you were yappin’ about. We have this talk all the time, we might as well have it prerecorded!”
“Feh. If you promise not to grab or yank me, I’ll get closer.”
“When have I ever yanked you?”
“Oh, you’re going to play innocent, now, are you? You want footage, Monty? I’ve got f—“
“Wouldja get down here so we can have a normal conversation? For once??”
“.. fine. Prima donna..”
The robotic alligator standing on the floor watched elegance donned in purple climb the strong curtains to the top. Soon after, the spidery mass of fabric and glow came easing, belly-down in its red silk sling again, lower and lower until their faces were inches from each other. Monty snorted a cold burst of dense, hydraulic hair through his immobile metal nostrils directly into his colleague’s sculpted plate and drape of his regal, violet hood.
“Hi.”
“Hi. Is this better for you, my liege?”
“It’ll do, jester. Now, what were you sayin’ about a watch?”
“I’ve got a ‘63 Rolex with your name on it if you can give me the Holiday Barbie you found the other day.”
His mechanical mug seemed to frown. “What Holiday Barbie?”
The partially obscured, crescent-moon face didn’t move, but the droop of a charcoal grey eyelid over the purple galaxy swirl the robot had for an eye made his displeasure known. “You twit. What did you do with the Holiday Barbie?”
“What Holiday Barbie?!” Monty asked again, spreading his arms. “Barbies are Barbies, Moonman! They all look the same to me.”
The light-projected eye rolled in its LED screen socket. “She had on a burgundy and gold dress, bore red hair, and wore candy cane stockings,” Moony described, impatiently. “She’s the Holiday Barbie from four years ago. Do you still have her?”
Monty thoughtfully perched his bulky, taloned fingers on his stout jaw. “Hrm, she rings a bell.. Iiiiii dunno, though. Lemme see the watch, first - maybe it’ll help me remember if I still got ‘er.”
The hanging animatronic’s slim, dark-lit arms folded in the air beneath his chest. “Work with me, Monty.”
“You don’t even have the watch on ya, do ya?”
“You don’t have the Barbie on you, do you? No - you don’t. We’re working on honor right now.”
“Eeeehh..” Monty grumbled, sneaking a look over his shoulder to check for his wandering band members. Coast was still clear. He peered sidelong at the Daycare Attendant past the gold-rimmed frame of his star-shaped sunglasses. “What condition is it in?”
“Upper scale of ‘great’; seemed whoever had it, took good care of it.”
“Does it work?”
It was incredible how a partially-obscured, immobile face and one color-swirled eye could call him stupid, but that’s what it did - and it did it VERY loudly. “Yes, Monty,” replied the patronizing whisper of the Plex’s nap time overseer. “It works great.”

and last but not least (sorry idk how to follow directions)....... whatever the fuck this is (actually i know whatever the fuck it is but do NOT--)

He enjoyed the walk quite immensely. It was refreshing; better yet, no one seemed to be about. All the better! When he arrived to the cafe, the atmosphere was quaint and sleepy, and his coffee was retrieved quick. Dobie found himself a wonderful spot beneath a tree, half in the sun, with its shade being ideal for the passing hours. Placing his book and coffee down on the little wrought iron table, Dobie scraped the matching chair over, sat down, and propped his feet up on the table’s ornate iron rungs. Crossing his ankles and snuggling in, he then plucked the pen from its nest in his hair, opened his book, and thumbed to the page awaiting his genius.
The coffee steamed. Its aromatic vapors danced and swayed chiffon ribbons in the weather like fog rising off a black lake in the white ceramic mug, gradually cooling to a temperature his tongue could handle.
Everything was great.
He got down to work.
“Heya, Dobie!”
The old man blinked, then squinted up at the newcomer that hadn’t been invited. A white wolf, senior in age (with possibly an upwards of eight years on the lifespan of his own), stood at the other side of the table, beaming bright. Dobie frowned.
Oh, great. Dobie groaned a low ‘ooohhhmm’ under his breath, and glanced at his coffee. He’d forgotten all about it until now. Since he was interrupted from The Zone anyway, he picked it up and took a sip. It was lukewarm, but Dobie didn’t mind; he was a fan of coffee, whether the drink be hot or cooled. He gulped, and sighed.
“Hi, Frank.”

001.
you didn’t really put into consideration how awkward it actually was to be working on a modeling gig with your ex boyfriend.
the pay was obviously really good that’s why you even agreed to book it in the first place, especially since it was for a famous luxury brand and their fragrance line
so imagine your horror when you walk into set and see your ex posing for the cameras.
you silently hoped that it was just his solo shoot and not with you because your manager did mention that you would be having a partner for this photoshoot
the photographer greets you with a hug and compliments your outfit for the shoot. a white, sultry open neckline dress. the theme of the shoot was it was set on the beach with a sunset background
he instructs you to lay on the makeshift sand and tells you to start posing for your solo shots.
after a couple of clicks, the photographer compliments you on your professionalism on set and then calls your ex boyfriend.
“sae! time for the couple shots i told you about” the photographer calls out to sae who was on his makeup chair. your eyes widened in realization that he was, in fact, your partner for today’s shoot
you tried to look at your manager for some help but it was no use. your manager was busy talking to other people on set. you can feel your heart beating faster by the minute as sae walks closer to you
he was wearing something similar to what you were wearing. dress pants and a white oversized unbuttoned polo. his exposed toned abdomen was probably the main highlight of his outfit with it glistening under the studio lights.
you bit your lip and looked away. sae has always been eye candy, there was no denying that. you were surprised yourself when you managed to bag him during his rookie days, but now that he was almost, if not an A list celebrity with his elite status in the world of football, you can almost say that itoshi sae was totally out of your league
you come back to your senses when the photographer claps his hands and muses how you and sae have insane chemistry that he has ever witnessed. you let out a little huff at the comment.
‘if only he knew’ you think to yourself, avoiding sae’s gaze as much as possible
the shoot starts and the photographer instructs sae to hover over you while holding the perfume bottle. sae nods and does what he’s told, he’s a professional after all. he wouldn’t let his personal feelings interfere with his work. that was the golden rule in the industry
you locked eyes with sae for the first time in years. he still had those fiery teal eyes that gets you weak in the knees each time. your eyes slowly dart from his eyes to his lips.
“keep doing that y/n!” the photographer cheers, clicking away on his camera. did you do something in your past life that you would inevitably end up in an awkward situation like this. a situation wherein you and your ex lover, in a position where you two are posing like an actual couple
your eyes flicker back from sae’s lips to his eyes again. for a second there you thought you felt a spark, a connection, an old flame that has been rekindled at that very moment.
til it all comes back to you in a flash
you forgot you hated him. you hate itoshi sae and you could’ve sworn itoshi sae hated you too.
the bitter taste is still in your mouth after all these years. how could you forget the man who broke your little heart in two?
it was childish really. looking back at it now, where you were merely just starting out as a rookie model and sae being the same, a rookie at his profession. just two kids having a similar situation in two whole different industries. it was hard not to get entangled.
you were always known to be sae's long time lover. you were always supportive of his games. present whenever you can, sitting at the exclusive VIP section of the stadiums, wearing his number on your back; and if you weren’t able to attend due to your own schedules, you would still manage to find the time to support him. may it be posting an instagram story that you were watching him on your phone while you were getting your makeup done or wearing his jersey on the day of the game
sae was the same. he would always be seen wearing the stuff from brands you’ve modeled for. from jewelries to exclusive clothing lines, sae would always be seen wearing them, his silent way of showing support in your own craft.
you were proud of him, and he was proud of you too.
but as all things are, good things come and go. even in the most unexpected times.
there were already rumors circulating that you and sae were ready to tie the knot, some news outlets even stating that maybe you two have gone ahead and tied the knot at some island during your secret little rendezvous. (having been caught going to santorini for more than multiple occasions)
the public has always been supportive of your relationship throughout the years. even earning the title as the nation’s sweethearts with how they’ve seen your relationship blossom from puppy love to what they call as “true love”
with the news that the nation’s sweethearts have parted ways, the public was as heartbroken as you.
sae suddenly called it quits after almost five years of dating. it was after he has been taken under the wing of real madrid’s division A where his career as a midfielder really took off. to make matters even worse, he broke it off at the same place he claimed you as his.
since then, you’ve sworn to hate him. you’ve resented him. you felt like all those years that you two have built was nothing. you couldn’t even believe him at first when he spat out the words “we’re over” like it was nothing.
five years, five years worth of unforgettable firsts. five fucking years to unlearn everything.
you were absolutely crushed back then. you even took a hiatus with everything going on in your life. you were a mess. you actually can’t believe sae had no remorse over this. were the five years you were together nothing for him? all those tears you two have shed, the firsts of everything, all those precious memories, were they all nothing?
it hasn’t even been a year or so but it seemed like sae already moved on, which added more salt to your already open wound. he was flourishing with his career while all of this was going on. sae has been photographed multiple times leaving clubs with lipstick stains all over his neck.
it stung of course. seeing him move on with his life as if he didn’t just ruin yours. that very night, you swore to yourself that you will never forgive itoshi sae for what he did.
never again would you open your heart to someone like itoshi sae.
itoshi sae, the man who broke your heart into two.
“earth to y/n?” the photographer snaps his fingers in front of you, breaking your little trance.
you apologize to the photographer, your cheeks heating up at the realization that you really got lost in your thoughts the moment you’ve met eyes with sae.
“as i was saying,” the photographer eyes you and sae, “the shoot is over. well done” he bows, motioning the people behind the scenes to clap for you and sae
almost immediately you stood up from your awkward position from sae. intentionally avoiding his hand that was held out for you to take. (you hate how he was still a gentleman to you, even after all these years)
you look around for your manager and strut towards him.
“we’re leaving. now” you say with no emotion in your voice, even walking farther ahead from your now confused manager.
he takes a look around on what could’ve made you pissed off but sees no one but itoshi sae in the flesh.
“but y/n, itoshi sae is here-” your manager gets cut off when there was a loud slam of a door nearby. he winces when he realizes it was you. he turns around and bows his head at the people on set.
“i apologize for y/n’s actions”
with that, your manager runs after you.
sae could only stare at your direction with mixed feelings. a part of him was relieved that he got to see you again after all these years, yet he doesn’t understand why he was feeling off to find out that you still resented him. i mean, that was what he expected for his own actions all those years ago.
with a click of a tongue, he goes back to his own manager so they can finally go home after a long day.
you don’t even know why you were crying. tears blurring your vision as you try to find the exit out of this damned building.
you harshly wipe your tears, opening the last door to your left. you were met with the harsh, cold air of japan. you weren’t looking where you were going, barely even noticing that someone was by the door til you bumped into them.
the steel floors were making it hard to walk in your heels. so when you bumped into the said stranger, you lost your balance.
the stranger had quick reflexes. they immediately caught you by your waist and your hands flew to their chest to keep yourself steady. you looked up at the stranger to apologize only to meet eyes again with the same teal eyes that belonged to no one other than sae fucking itoshi
you don’t know how long you two have been in this position until you see a bright flash in your peripheral vision.
you have just been papped by paparazzi with your ex boyfriend and sworn enemy, itoshi sae.
Tumblr media
002.
the headlines in both social media, news outlets and the such were exactly how you expected it.
it was crazy.
the general public going wild, thinking that the once famed couple were now back together after how many years.
your phone was blowing up with emails upon emails. calls from friends and relatives to confirm the news themselves that you’ve been seeing sae again. you look at your manager beside you apologetically as he receives another phone call from what you think is another e-news outlet asking if the rumors circulating were true.
you have been summoned by your company for an emergency meeting as the whole situation was getting out of hand.
that was when you realize how big of a name itoshi sae was after all these years of blocking his name on twitter.
your PR team is currently a mess. they are currently working their asses off to put out a good story for your sudden reunion with the famed midfielder.
“how many times do i have to tell you to be careful being papped after a shoot?” the head of your PR team, pinches the bridge of their nose. clearly this wasn’t the first time around
“i was!” you defend yourself, “i didn’t even know it was him til i looked up..” you murmured
your manager facepalms at your response. how did you not know it was sae?
“so what i’m getting here..” the head puts their glasses on the table, “you didn’t “know” that it was the itoshi sae, your partner for this specific photoshoot, the famed midfielder of real madrid, itoshi sae?” they quote, looking at you like you just grew another head
you nod in content, “exactly” you grin, putting your thumbs up. in hopes it raises the mood. (it doesn’t, unfortunately)
“y/n, i hope you know this isn’t just something we can brush under the rug. this is not the same situation with yukimiya kenyu where you two were caught being cozy in his car”
“yuki was literally just driving me home! and we’re close friends!” you defend yourself, yet again.
“exactly! yukimiya is a close friend! while itoshi sae is not. that’s why this is such a big deal!”
you slump back to your seat. okay, maybe they were right. this was a lot harder to get around with especially since the public knows about your past relationship.
“luckily for you, we have talked things out with itoshi sae’s management,” it was your manager’s turn to talk. he stands up from the seat beside you and walks over to your PR team’s head. they exchange glances before nodding.
“we have come up with a way that this whole issue will be over soon” your manager starts.
as if on cue, the doors of the meeting room suddenly open. you take a look on who could be entering this sacred room this late. surely it couldn’t be more of your PR team as they were all already present in the room.
there stood with their hand still on the doorknob is no one other than sae, with his manager right behind him.
your jaw drops as you put two and two together.
you whipped your head towards your manager and the head of your PR team in both horror and disbelief.
no, it can’t be…
“you two will now be in an arranged relationship for the meanwhile. until your situation dies down” sae’s manager finishes, taking a seat next to sae, who took the seat next to you.
you could see your manager squeeze his eyes shut, knowing where this is going. you were about to have a fit right here right now.
“WHAT?!” you let out a loud scream. the whole floor probably heard you.
sae also winces at how ear-piercing your scream was.
you abruptly stood up from your seat, snatching your purse from the table and stomped out of the meeting room. not forgetting to slam the door shut on the way out.
immediately you called up your two closest friends, reo and yukimiya to meet you at your apartment ASAP.
Tumblr media
003.
“so you’re telling me– us,” yukimiya pauses, looking between you, who has mascara running down your cheeks and reo, who was busy rubbing circles on your back as he hands you another tissue for you to blow your nose on, “that you are going to be in an arranged relationship with your ex, itoshi sae.. am i getting that right?” yukimiya confirms, waiting for your response
you nod before blowing your nose and throwing the now used tissue on the rising pile of tissues behind you.
“this is the worst day of my fucking life” you cried out, reaching out to reo to cry on his shoulders.
“oh, y/n” reo sighs, pulling you into his embrace as you cry your eyes out.
you pull away from reo’s embrace, “i mean, why him, why now?!” you rambled, words getting choked up.
both reo and yukimiya could only frown. after all, even with their power, money and status, there was nothing they could do to help with your situation.
your doorbell suddenly rings, catching all three of you in surprise. who could be at your door right now?
yukimiya took the initiative of opening the door, only to be met with the eyes of the itoshi sae. barely noticing your manager behind him.
sae raises his eyebrow at the man in front of him. who was he and why was he at your apartment?
“yukimiya-san! i didn’t know you were over..” your manager sheepishly greets yuki, trying to break the growing tension between him and sae.
“who’s out there, yuki?” you croak out, trying to take a peek at the door from reo’s shoulders.
“it’s me, y/n” you hear your manager call out. you look at reo in confusion. what was your manager doing here?
gradually, you slowly stood up from your kitchen island and walked over to your front door.
now, you just expected a scolding from your manager from your little fit back at the company, that’s why he was at your place or so you thought. what you didn’t expect that you’d see itoshi sae again but this time, in your own space.
“have you lost your fucking mind?” you shot a look at your manager, who only winces as a response.
“y/n- i can explain-“
“i made him take me here” sae speaks up for the first time. you felt your breath hitched. it’s been so long since you last talked to him, let alone heard him speak. (you’ve done everything you can and blocked every single thing related to sae. that meant interviews, news articles, you name it, you had his name and everything blocked and muted)
sae invites himself inside your apartment with your manager following suit as you stand there at your front door, stunned.
reo is equally as shocked as you are when he sees itoshi sae casually walk to your living room as if it was his. before reo could open his mouth to say something, you come running in, fuming.
“who the fuck told you you can come inside MY house” you spat. your attitude turning a whole 180.
sae only raises an eyebrow at you. “our team” he casually says. he then looks at your manager and cocks his head towards your direction. like he was trying to get your manager to tell you something.
“what now?!” this time it was your manager’s turn to get yelled at by you. he winces again before checking for something in his ipad.
“since you um.. walked out at our meeting earlier today… both managements has come to terms that you and itoshi sae would be living together for the meantime”
silence fills the room, the entire apartment if we were being honest
your vision goes dark, the next thing you know and you black out.
as you slowly regain your consciousness, you hear some people talking. well, to you it sounded like they were slurring because you couldn’t really comprehend what they were saying. slowly, you open your eyes. the first person you see is a frantic reo who seemed to be fanning your face with yukimiya holding your hand
“where am i?” you grunt, feeling some dull ache on the back of your head and lower back.
“you fainted” sae points out. staring at you who was on the ground. you sat up and stared at sae, wide eyed. “what the hell is he still doing here?!” you ask in distraught. you thought everything prior to this was all just a fever dream, or a nightmare as you’d like to call it
your manager, who was getting you a glass of water comes running to your aid. he crouches and tells you to drink up- to which you do.
“we were discussing your current situation with itoshi sae until you fainted… ” your manager starts, you choke on your water after hearing those words but thankfully didn’t start a coughing fit. you motioned your manager to continue so that you’d finally hear the end of this dreadful moment
your manager's eyes flicker between you and sae, “we’ve come up with an agreement that until the time being, itoshi sae would be living with you and you’d market yourselves as a couple. sae has already consented and agreed with the contract and your PR team as well…” he finishes, clutching his ipad close to his chest
reo, who was listening intently, felt like it was unfair for you to be in this type of situation regardless if it was an order from your company
“isn’t unfair for y/n though? she herself didn’t consent to this contract right? doesn’t this violate her own rights of code of ethics?” reo interferes, giving your manager a look. you look at reo and smiled. maybe you’ll ask him to contact the finest lawyers of japan that he knows after this
your manager was about to speak up but sae beat him to it.
“i was the one who suggested this whole setup, not their company. so technically, this isn’t “violating y/n’s rights of code of ethics” as it’s not even printed on a contract because simply, there is no contract” sae states, mocking reo’s tone of voice, giving him a side eye before turning his attention back to you.
this time it was yukimiya who steps in. he turns to sae with his eyebrows raised. “isn’t there another way to get around this? not just by your means?” yukimiya pauses, pushing his glasses up, “i mean, why does it have to be like this where you’ll live with y/n for an issue that could be squashed with just a single article denying your relationship or involvement with y/n?”
sae sits up straight, staring yukimiya down with an icy stare. “this doesn’t concern you”
yukimiya and reo both stand up, “actually it does. y/n is our friend” reo hisses, glaring at the red head who merely just yawns and rolls his eyes.
was sae even taking this seriously?
sae sighs, a bored expression on his face. “this is matters between me and y/n only”
finally having enough of his bullshit, you got up from the ground and walked in front of sae.
“what exactly are you planning, itoshi sae?” you narrow your eyes at him. this was the first time in years you’ve looked at him. you note how appearance wise, he hasn’t changed one bit.
sae chuckles a bit, catching you by surprise. what’s so funny?
“drop the formalities, y/n. you know me better than everyone else in this room” he scoffs, eyeing you from head to toe.
sae won’t lie. he thinks you were still beautiful the day he left you. to him, you were always the prettiest in the room and from the way his heart raced after seeing you for the first time again in years, he knows himself that thought stayed the same.
he watches your eyes soften for a second before it goes back to your signature glare.
“actually, I don't,” you say dryly, crossing your arms. “so, tell me. what exactly are you gonna get out of this?”
sae sighs. he doesn’t know himself either but he wasn’t just about to say that out loud. he doesn’t know what got into him all of a sudden. was it because he was curious about how you were doing? was he intrigued? did he somehow miss you all of a sudden because he saw you again?
a part of him always longed for you even after you two have gone your own separate ways. it was hard not to, considering you have spent a chunk of your lives together. not to mention, you two grew up with each other and built blossoming careers together hand in hand.
it was only until he finally got recruited for division a of real madrid where he thought it would be best if you guys would stop what you have in order to be the best version of himself— wrong.
he realized he fucked up that maybe that wasn’t the best option when he realized he needed you more than ever. you were his best support system. you were always there with him during the hardest times holding his hand but it was already too late. the damage had been done and it was irreversible.
the day he broke up with you, or the day he fucked up everything was also the last time he ever saw or heard from you ever again.
sae tried. he tried and tried and tried to reach out to you. he tried searching for your socials, your contact information, literally everything he can get his hands on. but even with his power and money in the world, it was still not enough to find you.
the only updates he had of you was the ads that were plastered all around social media and in the busy shopping districts of the cities he’s in. it was almost like a constant reminder of what he lost.
so shocked was an understatement when you were his partner for the commercial shoot his manager had booked him for some random luxury brand.
after all those years, he found you again.
to say the stars were on his side when you two got papped by the paparazzi is a bit selfish on sae’s end. as much as he fucking despises the paparazzi as they tend to ruin things for him, he’s quite glad that for once that they did something right.
they brought you back to him.
so sae couldn’t just let this opportunity of a lifetime slide. even if this so called “scandal” could easily just be cleared out with a simple denying of such rumor. but sae couldn’t just let this end like that.
he wants to fix everything he broke. sae wants another chance.
“this is pointless” you deadpan, after waiting for sae to speak. he was just sitting there, staring right back at you for god knows how long that you begin to become conscious.
sae looked like he just snapped out of his train of thought as he shook his head before clearing his throat.
“it’s a win-win situation for both of us” sae blurts, “you get more publicity out of this–”
yukimiya and reo both looked at him like he was crazy.
“excuse you— with or without you, y/n is already famous. hell, you don’t even know how many brands are waiting for her to reach back at them!”
“do you live under a rock or something? how do you not know y/n is one of the, if not the number one top model of the country?”
you were secretly thankful that you called both yukimiya and reo beforehand. not only you got an ego boost, but it gave sae a taste of your own reality that you are where you are now because he left you
a small smirk tugs on your lips when sae frowns. you watch him chew his bottom lip, a telltale sign that he was thinking of something to save his ass
“well, if you aren’t gonna get something out of this.. i have” you say, catching everyone’s attention, including your own manager.
your manager looks at you with his head tilted to the side. mouthing “what do you mean?”
“i’ll only agree to this if after this whole scandal is over, i don’t ever want to see you again” you propose to sae. it was only fair for it to end like this as one, he was the one who suggested this idea in the first place. two, you can never be too complacent with sae who apparently has no motive regarding this. this was sae we’re talking about, he’s bound to plot something and three, you can finally find the answers you’ve been yearning for after all these years. might as well use this as an opportunity to get your well deserved closure.
there was a glint of hope in sae’s eyes.
“deal”
you hear yukimiya and reo yell a bunch of lines like “seriously y/n?” but all you can focus on is sae who’s also looking right back at you.
your manager claps his hands in joy, immediately dialing your company about your decision. sae takes this time to call his own manager to probably tell him to bring his stuff in.
did you make the right decision? you’re not too sure. only time can tell.
Tumblr media
004.
today was the first day of you officially “dating” sae again.
also the first day of living with sae, for the meantime
just a little after you’ve come to an agreement with sae with the set up of your rekindled “relationship”, both managements didn’t waste a single second on confirming the news that the nation’s sweethearts have gone back together
needless to say, both of your names are trending and is the current talk of the town
so your first agenda (from both PR teams) is that you both post strikingly similar instagram stories as if you were together the night prior. (in which, you two were.. force binded by a non-existent contract)
it was a good thing that you chose an apartment that had a spare guest room because god forbid you’d even dare to sleep in the same bed with your ex.
you didn’t give sae a warning that you were already gonna post something. just a quick snap of your window, that holds the view of shibuya, with a little sunlight peeking through. you captioned it with a little “good morning indeed” with a cheeky emoji just to spice things up.
sae, who was in the next room, was casually scrolling through instagram when he sees that you posted a new instagram story. he clicks his tongue in annoyance at the fact you didn’t even give him a heads up. quickly improvising, he took a mirror selfie from the vanity mirror that you have around in your guest bedroom.
you started your day with making your own breakfast. not even bothering to call sae. hell, he can starve for all you care. after all, he was not your responsibility. you only agreed to do this because frankly you had no other choice from your company.
while waiting for your eggs, it didn’t take you a while to also notice that sae already posted his part of the agenda. thinking of it as nothing, you innocently clicked on his profile. his story loads and wow. resonating with your caption, good morning indeed!
sae posted a shirtless mirror selfie. he was still under the covers but made sure his torso was seen on the mirror.
“take a screenshot, it’d last longer” sae says flatly, moving past you to your fridge. you jolt in surprise, almost dropping your phone in the process. “what the fuck!” you yell out, a hand over your chest.
you hear sae chuckling behind you and the fridge opening
“you got all that money stocked up somewhere and yet you don’t even have groceries?” sae comments, noting your almost empty fridge. there were only some milk boxes and some of those edible collagen jellies that help you with swelling when you have early morning shoots and the such.
sae takes the last chocolate milk box you had that was hidden away at the back of your fridge
“well, my manager does it for me and i usually eat at reo’s or yukimiya’s– is that the last of my milk?!” you pried your eyes off your phone to see sae casually sipping on the last milk box you were saving
“so?”
“that’s mine” you argued, getting up from the kitchen island to snatch it from sae. you stomp over to him and tried to swipe it off his hands. unfortunately for you, sae is an athlete and that meant he had reflexes like no other. he raises his arm high just before you were able to grab the milk box from him.
“sae, give it back” you grit your teeth, standing on your tippy toes, trying or attempting to take the milk box from sae’s hold but the height difference is just something else.
sae leans down and gets all over your face. “come on, you can do it,” he teases, eyes fixated on yours.
this feeling almost felt too familiar. almost like a wave of nostalgia just hit you in the face. the memories you’ve been trying to suppress all coming back
you snapped out of your little trance when you realized the position you two were in.
“my eggs are burning” you lie, leaving sae dumbfounded. you scurry off to your stove to finish what you were cooking while sae goes and sits on your kitchen island.
he watches you plate your breakfast and sit on the other end of the kitchen island. you actually felt him staring but chose to ignore him. the sound of his stomach grumbling breaks the awkward silence.
“where’s my breakfast?” he asks, voice small
you shrug, “i don’t know”
“you didn’t make me one?”
“why will i?” you raise a brow, happily munching on your bacon while sae could only look at you in disbelief.
later that day you two had your own schedules. he had practice and other stuff to do while you had another meeting about different commercial offers and a lunch date with reo and yukimiya just like you promised the two.
you got home later than sae. you were about to grab some water from the fridge when you notice that it was fully stocked with groceries. you can’t help but smile a little at the gesture.
you did your usual night routine before getting comfy in bed. just before you were about to hit the hay, you don’t forget to send sae a quick message, thanking him for the groceries.
[11:43] you: thanks for doing the groceries ig
[11:44] sae: i couldn’t just let myself starve here, can i?
you rolled your eyes at his reply. he’s still so sarcastic even after all these years
[11:45] you: whatever 🙄
[11:46] sae: i also restocked that milk you love so much. call it truce from earlier today
[11:46] you: who told you it was my favorite? 🤨
[11:47] sae: gut feeling, call it old habit
you raised a brow at his text. what did he mean by that? before you could type your reply, your phone notifies you that sae sent another message
[11:49] sae: jk. your manager told me
you didn’t realize you were holding in your breath. you let out a sigh of relief after reading his message. you were not gonna let him get under your skin. not anymore
you ended up not replying to him. instead, you shut your phone off to reflect on today’s events, hoping that this all ends soon. your phone suddenly dings again. it was a notification from sae.
[11:55] sae: i’m going to sleep now. goodnight, y/n
it’s officially been a week of living with sae and pretending to be a couple in front of the cameras and the public. to think you’d even last this long is an understandment on it’s own.
for this day, both managements wanted you two to be seen out and about in public doing whatever you two wished to do.
you were debating on what you two should do that won’t involve much physical contact like going out for shopping because that only meant that you two would be forced to hold hands which is something you don’t want to do for obvious reasons. you’d rather die than to be papped with sae holding hands
“what do you want to do today?” sae asks from the couch. you two were already all dressed up. intentionally matching your outits just for the sake of it. sae was wearing a maroon turtleneck with holes in them with a white long sleeve shirt underneath and some track pants? you don't question his outfit much further because why would you exert the effort to do so?
you were wearing something similar. a maroon crop top with some leggings to match the laid back outfit of your fake boyfriend.
“what can we do without much physical contact?” you pondered, a finger tapping on your chin. sae scoffs at your question, mumbling about what’s wrong with physical contact with him. you almost wanted to tell him “everything” but that would just start another argument today
“how about we get some coffee?” sae offers, unable to think of more activities to do in such short notice. you hum in agreement, coffee does sound good right now. you get up from the couch and grab the keys to your car
“what are you doing?” sae asked. you stop in your tracks and hold out your keys for him to see. “we’re taking my car” sae says, showing off his.
not putting up much of a fight, you agreed. it was getting tiring driving yourself around anyway.
you two arrive at the coffee shop sae graciously let you choose in no time (by graciously, he meant that he’s good with anything you choose) you then decide on sitting by the window where you know the paparazzi will be in front at in no time to capture this date between rekindled lovers
you sit at your chosen table by the window while you wait for sae to order something for the both of you. telling him that you’re okay with whatever since this cafe was your favorite.
it didn’t take sae that long to come back with your orders. he sets the tray down and you find an abundance of sweets and pastries. you look up at him confused but he simply shrugs. he then places your drink down. you take the receipt that was hanging off the tray to read everything he has ordered.
looks like he ordered everything on the menu with the sweets and pastries, which is not surprising really. when you read what he got you however,
“you ordered me a spanish latte?” you ask, taking the drink from the table.
sae nods, taking a sip from his own drink. “something wrong?”
you shake your head no. you just can’t wrap your head at the fact he ordered your usual go-to drink.
“nothing, it’s just i'm surprised that you still remember what i usually order in coffee shops” you shrug, finally sipping on your drink. spanish lattes does always hit the spot for you
“do you think i have forgotten?” sae raises a brow, a slight frown forming on his lips. you rolled your eyes at his comment.
“well, it’s been a while, don’t you think?” you retort, avoiding his hard stare. technically, it’s been almost two years since the breakup. one of you were bound to forget each other’s habits and the such.
there was silence again after that. an awkward one at that
“let’s take our post now so we can leave” you say, taking pictures of the food in front of you while keeping sae in the frame. sae simply nods and does the same. the photo you decided to post was mostly all the food sae ordered with him in the background. you purposely cut off his head just for the thrill of it. you do tag sae in the instagram story though with the caption “coffee run”
sae’s post was a bit different. he simply posted a candid shot of you taking pictures of the food in front of you. for captions, sae isn’t much of a caption person because he thinks they defeat the purpose of photos so instead he just adds a heart emoji with your username next to it.
it didn’t take much for the paparazzi to find your whereabouts. just like planned, they were outside the window you two were seated in taking photos after photos.
“do we go now?” sae asks, eyeing the amount of people that were outside the cafe.
“yeah..” you trail off, not really expecting a whole crowd to form outside. sae must've sensed that you were tensed with the way he stands next to you when you two were leaving the coffee shop
the moment you two step foot outside, it was an absolute frenzy. the press were everywhere on your faces. asking questions from all sorts of directions that it actually made you dizzy.
you were never one for crowded crowds. especially when they topple over each other just to take the perfect photo or get an exclusive. it was just never your cup of tea
you covered your eyes from the bright flashes that were all over your face, trying to maneuver around the paparazzi to get to sae’s car faster but the paparazzi was too much for you to handle. you instinctively leaned on sae for support as your legs start to feel wobbly. sae immediately catches on and wraps an arm around your waist securely, pushing forward against the hoarde of people in front of you guys
“get out of the fucking way!” sae barks, pushing the people in front of your faces. the group of paparazzi do make way for you guys as you finally reach sae’s car.
sae unlocks the car and opens the passenger door for you to enter first. he shields any possible camera that was trying to capture your face with his body. even going as far as pushing them away making some of the paparazzi stumble and fall on their asses.
once you were secured in your seat, he runs over to his side of the car and starts the car before speeding off. not wasting a single second for some short interview.
“you okay?” sae steals a glance at your slumped state, before turning his attention back to the road in front of him.
“... yeah, just dizzy” you say meekly, rubbing your temples. “i’m gonna rest my eyes for a bit, sae” you murmur, leaning against the window before drifting off to sleep.
sae sighs and speeds up faster so you two could get home sooner. ‘damn paparazzi’ he thinks to himself, not noticing how his knuckles have turned white with how hard he was gripping the steering wheel.
the car comes to a halt when the traffic lights beam red. sae couldn’t help but look at your state. he always knew you were bad with crowds but yet you still fulfilled your lifelong dream to be a model. he wonders who took care of you during flash mobs when you were out in the streets.
was it your manager? was it that reo guy? or was it yukimiya aka that person he doesn’t really like. sae hates how close you are with him. sae will also never forget your scandal with him. he can still remember it like it was yesterday when the news dropped that you may or may not be in a relationship with your fellow model yukimiya kenyu after being papped being cozy inside his car.
practice was hell that day for real madrid and sae may or may not have punctured a soccer ball out of pure rage.
the damned light finally turns green and thankfully you were at the last street before the turn to your apartment complex.
sae parks the car and turns to take a good look at your sleeping figure. you look too peaceful to wake up. so he gets out of the car and goes to your side to pick you up bridal style.
he gently puts one of your arms around his neck (for safe measure) and loops his under your knees to carry you. with the help of the security guards around, he presses the elevator up to your penthouse suite.
for once in his life, sae is thankful that he was an athlete as he successfully tapped in your passcode to unlock your front door with you in his arms. when he reaches your bedroom, he gently sets you down on your bed.
sae was about to leave to make some dinner just before you wake up but was stopped by your hand reaching for his.
“stay..” you mumbled, tugging his arm. sae hesitates for a bit, unsure if you were actually conscious or was just sleep talking. sae watches your eyebrows furrow when you notice he still wasn’t beside you. clicking your tongue in annoyance, you tug on sae’s arm harder so he gets the hint
“okay, okay” sae hums, slowly getting in your bed. he’s unsure himself on what he should do. should he stay still, wrap an arm around you, what?
to his surprise, you were snuggling next to him. your head nestling to his chest. sae lets out a small gasp. he definitely didn’t see this coming.
coming to a realization that no harm would be done if he wraps an arm around you, he slowly drapes his arm over your waist. sae suddenly feels like he was on top of the world, like everything suddenly made sense to sae.
sae caresses your cheek, brushing the stray hairs from your face.
“you still look beautiful the day i lost you..” sae whispers. he debates on stealing a kiss. he weighs out the pros and the cons and figures that it was more of a liability if you ever find out he stole a kiss from you, especially when you were asleep. that’s gonna have to be for another time.
sae was beginning to feel sleepy. he carefully drapes the duvet across your bodies. not even a moment later, sae is now fast asleep with you in his arms
you find yourself plush against something hard and warm. you try tossing to the other side but you were being held securely around your waist. your eyes shot up, now fully awake and aware of your surroundings.
“good morning” sae rasps, his morning voice sending shivers down your spine.
“what are you doing in my bed?” you whisper-yelled, actually genuinely surprised to see him next to you. your heart was racing, like it was about to jump out of your chest. did something happened yesterday? you couldn’t quite remember everything after leaving the coffee shop. it almost felt like a hazy dream
sae reluctantly unwraps his arm around you and scoots to the edge of the bed. you almost pout at the warmth that disappears but you internally scold yourself for thinking of such things.
“you passed out in the car and i brought you here” sae explains, now sitting up. “i’ll go make breakfast. stay put” he pats your leg before excusing himself to leave your bedroom. you lay there confused because that wasn’t enough to explain why he was quite literally sleeping next to you.
just the mere fact that you slept next to him sent you into a frenzy. you grab your phone and immediately dialed reo
“hello?” reo answers groggily, you checked your phone for the time and it was literally 8 in the morning.
“reo!” you hushed, trying not to catch the attention of sae “something happened yesterday!”
“what?”
“we slept together…?” your voice going up an octave, chewing on your lip as you await for reo’s reaction
a beat of silence passes by. you thought reo may have accidentally ended the call
“YOU DID WHAT?!” reo basically screams at your ear. you had to remove your phone from your ear from the impact of reo’s shrill scream. “DON’T TELL ME YOU GOT BACK TOGETHER WITH HIM IN JUST A WEEK’S NOTICE—”
“NOT IN THAT WAY, DIPSHIT” you say abruptly, cutting reo off. “i mean like.. we just slept in the same bed after yesterday’s turn of events…” you trail off, trying to remember every significant detail that eventually lead up to you and sae ultimately sleeping with each other.
“my guess is with the paparazzi. i just saw the photos” reo says, typing away on his keyboard. “not gonna lie y/n, you and sae do make a good couple” he adds, giggling
you huff over the phone, earning a hefty laugh from the other end.
“talk to him. clearly you need it” reo advices. it was like he knows where this was going. “ i gotta go for now, y/n. i’ll call you back later. duty calls. ciao!” reo ends the call before you could even say something.
you threw your phone on the other side of the bed, groaning as you put your head in your hands. what was happening to you
there was a faint knock on your door, probably sae was gonna tell you that breakfast was ready but to your surprise, he brought the breakfast to you.. in bed.
sae walks in with a little bed tray that you didn’t even know you owned filled with some breakfast.
“was all this necessary?” you say in disbelief. sae simply shrugs and sits by the foot of your bed.
“i contacted your manager about your state and he says he’ll be coming over to check up on you later” he notes, typing away on his phone with one hand. sae turns to you and motions for you to start digging in. “c’mon, eat up”
you feel your face heat up at his extravagant gestures. he was a man of service after all. even during your relationship, sae wasn’t the type to be vocal about his love for you. it was mostly through actions may it be subtle or not. you can feel the love with the way he does everything for you.
with a small smile, you start to eat the breakfast he made.
“sae,” you call. he looks up from his phone, a confused look on his face.
“need something?”
“come here” you motioned for him to scoot closer to you. to which he happily obliges. he is now sitting right in front of you.
he watches you cut a piece of your pancake and stabbed it with your fork before holding it up for him.
“here,” you say sheepishly, not even looking at sae in the eye. sae looked at you like you just lost your mind.
“can’t let you not eat your own cooking..” you mumbled, feeling your face burn in both embarrassment or something you can’t pinpoint. with a chuckle, he takes the fork from you. unintentionally brushing your hands together.
in an instant, you snatch your hand back as he quietly eats the pancake you’ve given him.
things are changing between you and sae and you’re not sure if you like it.
Tumblr media
005.
it’s been a few days since the whole ordeal with you and sae in bed together. your management gave you guys a few days off just to keep things at bay with the paparazzi after the whole fiasco of you almost fainting because of the sea of paparazzi outside trying to take photos.
your manager did end up checking up on you that day just like sae has mentioned. you told him off that you were fine and just needed more resting before you can resume with your work. he reluctantly agrees and goes ahead and reports your status with your company.
reo and yukimiya also came over for the past few days. just to check things up with you after your pictures were published for the public. you had a talk with your two closest friends about your current situation with sae.
yukimiya was a bit unsure for you while reo advised that they’ll be there with you for every decision you make. he also opted that you two should have an open forum about each other’s whereabouts since the break up. clearly you still had unanswered questions.
sae was out again for his daily practice. although he did tell you that he’d be back around the afternoon.
you take this opportunity of being alone to actually think about everything for the past week.
this few weeks has been a whole rollercoaster. not only you’ve been reunited with your ex, you had to be in a “fake” relationship with him again for the media, and now it’s like you and sae were back to your old routines all those years ago.
a part of you does miss being able to call sae as yours, not just for the sake of the cameras but just because you really do love him and you want to be with him, but this time for real. yet, another part of you is scared that maybe there’s a catch to this. maybe in the end sae was just using you for his own sake.
you made a promise to yourself that you were not gonna have him play with your heart like that anymore. not again, never again.
but here you are, willing to take the same risk again. the things you are willing to do just to call him yours.
because at the end of the day, it will always be itoshi sae.
no one else has your heart the way sae has it.
you barely notice that sae has arrived back from practice til he was waving a hand in front of your face.
“y/n” he jabs a finger at the side of your head, an amused look on his face. “what are you thinking about?” sae hums, plopping down on the couch next to you.
“nothing much, just about life”you hissed, clutching the spot he just poked you. you leaned back on the couch, stealing a glance at sae but you made eye contact instead. immediately you looked away, feeling your cheeks heat up.
sae snickers next to you, a small smile on his face as he takes a good look at you.
“having a midlife crisis at your young age?” sae pokes your sides making you jump. you let out a little yelp, causing sae to smirk.
“don’t even think about it sae itoshi— AH!” you hold your hands out in defense mode. you know that devilish look on sae’s face. sae’s fingers reach your sides before you could even finish your menacing (not) threat.
your laughter fills the living room.
oh how sae missed this. how he missed coming home from practice and to have you wait for him. how sae missed you.
sae stops tickling you to let you catch your breath. barely even noticing the position you two were in. he was on top of you, hands on each side of your head. your cheeks painted red, chest rising rapidly as you try to control your breathing.
“can i kiss–”
the front door slams open to reveal reo and yukimiya in tow with some food.
“y/n! we brought you some food!” reo happily chirps, setting the food down on your kitchen counter. sae’s eyes immediately widen and rushes to get off of you. he stumbles and falls on the floor, just right in front of reo’s feet.
reo and sae make eye contact. reo awkwardly smiles at the now embarrassed sae.
but sae being sae, he brushed it off like he was in the middle of push ups.
“... and 50. 50 push ups done” sae puffs, pushing himself off the ground, pretending to wipe the non existent sweat on his forehead and ushers away to his room. not missing reo’s comment before he slams the door shut.
“i’m gonna just pretend i didn’t see you fall right in front of me” reo cackles, wiping a tear from his eye. “anyway y/n, we got you some food. i forgot that athlete was living with you sooo.. it’s up to you to give his share” reo shows you the amount of food he just got you.
yukimiya giggles behind him. he pulls reo to the side before giving you his infamous smirk
“reo, we gotta go now” yukimiya smiles slyly at you. he takes a good look at your ruffled shirt, flushed cheeks and messy hair.
“what? we just got here!” reo complains, looking back at yukimiya, who points out your current state. he then whispers something to reo that you obviously can’t hear. you stand there with your arms crossed, eyebrows raised as you wait for your two best friends to fill you in
“i’m literally right here” you rolled your eyes.
“oh!” reo gasps, eyes wide as he seems to put two and two together. he covers his mouth like he just witnessed something scandalous.
you were about to open your mouth to say protest against what allegations yukimiya has of you but both reo and yukimiya bolt out the door. yelling about how they were sorry for disturbing something while cackling.
“those bitches..” you muttered, shaking your head. you walk over to the kitchen to go through what reo just got you. of course it was his favorite steak with some side dishes.
“are they gone?” you hear sae call out from his room, his head poking out the door.
you laugh, “yeah. you can come out now”
you hear the door open and sae comes walking in the kitchen with nothing but sweatpants. you let out a squeak as your hands fly to your eyes, covering them from seeing sae’s half naked body.
sae scoffs at your reaction. “you’re acting like you aren’t used to it”
“was used to it” you correct him. sae’s mood drops a bit. you awkwardly fiddle with the hem of the plastic. taking out the plastic containers to at least lift up the now sour atmosphere.
sae looks at the meals you’ve settled down on the counter. “from reo?” he asks, going ahead and taking out some chopsticks.
he must be starving from coming home after practice.
you slid the plastic container that held reo’s favorite steak to sae. his eye widens and shakes his head. he pushes it back to you. it becomes a silent tug of war. sae ended up losing because you were starting to get upset and he can tell by the way your lips are jutted out and you were pushing harder, causing some of the sauce to spill out.
“okay, damn..” sae mutters, accepting his defeat. you let out a victory cheer by dancing a little in your seat. sae couldn’t help but smile. now here you were, watching him chomp down the food reo initially got for you.
“let’s head out somewhere” sae says, poking you with his chopsticks. you swat his hands away as you scowl at him. going out all of a sudden after he just ate?
“where are we going?”
“places”
you look up at him unsure. you didn’t really want to go anywhere this week knowing that paparazzi might be up on your asses again. you weren’t gonna risk your health again for just some dumb post
“but we’re on break with posting though” you protest. was sae really serious about heading out?
sae pouts and looks at you with pleading eyes. something he only pulls when he really wants to do something or get his way. something you couldn’t resist. you guessed old habits really die hard
“please?”
you avert your gaze elsewhere because those teal eyes are only trouble for you. you hear sae sigh beside you and you realized that was your last straw.
“fine”
you look back at sae who had a small smile on his face. his face screaming “i know you still can’t resist me” and quite frankly you wanted to punch the living daylights out of his smug face.
“i’m not gonna get dressed up or anything though. just a hoodie and a hat to keep our identities hidden” you say, getting up from the barstool to head over to your room to get an oversized hoodie and your hat.
“wasn’t counting on it” sae says, humming to himself that he got you to agree.
it didn’t take long for you guys to get moving. you two were now on your way to wherever sae was taking you. even if you kept asking where you two were going, sae simply shushes you and tells you to just sit back and relax
you were leaning towards the window, watching the city skies fade as you two drive aimlessly around the city. your phone connected to his aux, softly playing some tunes in the background.
your eyes peer over to sae who had one hand on the steering wheel, while the other was used to prop himself up against the window. you find yourself smiling at the memories going back to you.
the old late night drives with sae just to clear your minds.
the route sae was taking you felt awfully familiar. you sit up straight and looked outside to see that you were going up a familiar hill. you snap your head towards sae. sae catches your stare and winks at your direction.
the car eventually comes to a stop. sae silently turns off the car and gets out with you following behind him. there you realize where he took you. sae took you back to your favorite spot to get away from it all. the hilltop where you can get a whole view of the ever so busy city of shibuya.
the same place sae asked you to be his,
the same place sae broke things off with you,
“what are we doing here, sae?” you ask, sitting on top of the hood of his car. sae follows suit. he sits next to you, observing the view in front of him.
“to unwind” he says flatly, putting his hood on. you can’t help but look at him. what did he mean by that?
“you looked pretty occupied today, so i just thought i’d bring you here-”
you furrowed your brows, “then why here?”
sae stays silent. the sound of the city filling your ears. you can’t help but think that it was now or never. it was the perfect time to get things across. for your own peace of mind, and for the sake of it all.
it was silent between you and sae all of a sudden. you almost wanted to laugh at how ironic it is that you’d end up in this place again for the third time in a row with the same person.
‘how nostalgic’ you think to yourself. you get up from the hood of the car and walked towards the wooden fence. just to get a clearer view and to get some air that you so desperately needed before talking to sae.
“you know, this reminds me of the time you took me up here for the first time,” you start, kicking the rocks just by your feet. sae’s ears perk up at the sudden mention of the memory.
“i was so happy that day. to think we’d last for over five years. i was the happiest when i was with you, sae” you continued, smiling to yourself as you recalled everything.
sae can’t help but feel there’s more to what you’re saying. he can’t help but anticipate the bomb that you were about to drop.
“til one day, you brought me out here again. this time, to break up” you turn around to face sae who had an expression you can’t comprehend. his hands were stuffed inside the pockets of his hoodie
“you broke me that day, sae” you breathe out, looking up at the moon. “and to think not even two weeks later i see you with someone else” you let out a laugh. to sae it sounded forced.
“i hate you, sae itoshi” you finally look at him again, sae averts from your hard gaze.
“i hate how you took all my firsts, i hate how you talk to me with that voice, i hate how i know your morning routine better than anyone else, i hate how you always opt to cook because you know i suck at cooking, i hate how you know me like the back of your hand..” you list off, with every list you say, you take a step forward.
“i hate how even after all these years, even after you hurt me, even how you broke me to pieces, i hate how i can’t ever find myself to hate you” you finish. a teardrop running down your cheeks.
“i hate how i still love you..” your voice was shaky. your hands were trembling, here you were, confessing your heart to the guy who initially broke it.
you broke your promise to yourself.
with a deep sigh, you fixed your composure. you harshly wipe the tears that were running down your cheeks before turning your back on sae again to face the city you live in.
“i just have a question for you, sae…” you take a deep breath. finally. you were gonna get the answers to your questions. those times you’ve doubted yourself, those sleepless nights wondering where it all went wrong, nights where you ask yourself if you were ever enough for sae..
you were finally gonna get your well deserved answers.
“why? what did i do wrong? was i not enough for you?”
sae silently moves towards you. he pulls your head to his chest where you freely the tears fall.
you push him off of you, you were not gonna let yourself be fooled much longer.
“was it worth it, sae? was throwing away our years together worth it?” you seethed, tears pricking your eyes.
sae’s eyes widened, “i–”
“you know sae, even if i was in a room with all the people i love the most. i’d still choose you and you all over again. i will always choose you, sae” you cut him off, trembling. words shaking as you are basically spilling your heart to the guy who broke it into a million pieces.
sae’s heart breaks at the scene before him. it was too late for him to realize the damage he has done to you. for you to act like this.
“that’s why i agreed to be in this fake relationship with you. i wanted to find out why you did this to me, to us” you admit, tears now fully flowing. “i just..” you weren’t able to finish what you were trying to sae as you sob in front of sae.
“why sae?.. just, why?”
you barely notice sae approaching. the next thing you knew, he pulls your head to his chest.
“shh… let it out” he says, his free arm rubbing your back as you cry your heart out. finally, after all those years, it felt good to release everything. like a million bricks has been lifted off your shoulders.
sae pulls away, cupping your cheeks as he wipes the tears pouring down your cheeks with his thumb. his eyes flicker from your eyes to your lips.
“don’t look at me like that, sae..” you say in a low voice, almost like a whisper. peering away from sae’s eyes.
sae slowly leans in and before he knows it his lips are just ghosting over yours. without a second, sae smashes your lips together.
your eyes widened. you wanted to push him away. you put your hands on his chest ready to push him away, but something in you is stopping you from doing so.
how you missed this. how you missed sae
how sae missed this. how sae missed you
you pull apart, catching your breath. you look up at sae to see him crying too. he cups your cheeks, caressing them with his thumb.
“i’m sorry” was all he could say. he puts his forehead against yours, teal eyes fixated on yours. you can tell with his eyes that he was sincere. sae was also shaking as he holds you, his whole body language screaming guilt.
“i was young and stupid. i thought i’d be better off without you but i realized that i wasn’t. it was too late by then.” he explains, looking down at your feet instead of meeting your eyes.
you put your hand over his, squeezing them. relishing in the moment of two ex lovers putting the past behind them.
“i tried reaching out for you, you know?” sae brings up, laughing to himself at how stupid he sounded. “but knowing you, i knew you’d probably act like you never existed. i had to find out the hard way” he scoffs at the end.
“eventually, the stars brought me to you again” sae finally looks at you in the eye. “i took that as a chance to try and redeem myself. i think it failed though,” sae admits sheepishly, “i was persistent. i wanted you back and i did everything i can just to keep you with me”
you listen to sae stumble with his words. he’s trying. he’s actually proving that he was genuinely sorry for everything.
“i never stopped loving you, y/n” sae admits with a sad smile, “i never did”
you tear up again at his confession. because frankly, you were the same.
sae opens his mouth to say something but instead, you crash your lips against his. sae doesn’t move for a second but relaxes as soon as he realizes what was going on. he instantly wraps his arms around your waist, pulling you close as he can.
“i love you,”
“i love you too,”
you two find yourselves basking under the moonlight once again. fixing and treating each other’s wounds as you two try again. this time you two are sure that whatever you two have planned for each other, you two will make it right.
Tumblr media
006.
the sound of an alarm blaring through the room wakes you up from your sleep. you feel some shuffling behind you and suddenly the room turns quiet again.
“did i wake you?” you hear sae’s morning voice ring through your ears, sending a shiver down your spine. you let out a small whine, nodding your head yes.
sae chuckles, and tightens his hold around your body under the covers. “good morning to you too, baby” he kisses your cheek.
you open one eye before twisting your body around to face him.
“morning..” you yawn, leaving a trail of kisses from his jaw to his adam’s apple.
“still didn’t get enough from last night, hm?” sae teases, rubbing circles on your hips. you feel your cheeks heat up. you slapped his chest before turning your back on him again.
“our managers will kill us if we’re late” you remind him of your schedules for the day. you sit up, slipping on his shirt that was lying on the floor, recalling last night’s events. you looked at yourself from the mirror to see some love bites all over your neck up to your chest. a gentle reminder that you were now his again.
“they can wait,” sae murmurs, slipping his hands under your (his) shirt. you let out a giggle before pushing his hands off of you.
“sae come on!” you tug on his arm as you two head out to your bathroom.
after what seems like an hour or so due to sae’s rowdy hands. you two finally arrive at the red carpet of the luxury brand you two have modeled for.
the screams of fans fills your ears as you wait in of the car and onto the red carpet where a line of reporters were waiting.
sae, being the gentleman he is and a marketing genius, he obviously makes a scene for your entrances. he gets out of the car first and holds out his hand for you to take. the audience goes crazy as you two make your entrance.
“sae, y/n! over here!” you hear a bunch of reporters yell out. lights, and flashes all around.
you and sae stop at the first reporter on the line. he greets you guys with a smile before starting his short interview. it was the usual questions about the brand and you guys feel about being the new faces of it.
“well, clearly they have a good eye for casting both y/n and i as the new faces for their brand” sae answers for the both of you, his arm wrapped securely around your waist.
the interviewer gushes at how cool his answer was and proceeds to ask you another question.
“my, my, my, miss y/n. you look lovely as usual but i can’t help but wonder, what does it feel like to be back together with sae itoshi?” he asks, intrigued, his microphone on your face.
you look at sae for approval and he simply smiles and motions for you to say whatever you want to say.
“well, it still shocks me til this day that i got back together with sae” you joked, making the interviewer laugh at your response and sae who fakes being offended. you laugh at his reaction before answering seriously,
“but seriously. i guess it’s true that if it’s meant to be, it will be” you smile, showing off sae in front of the camera to which the interviewer loves.
“what an answer from, y/n! well you heard it here first folks!” the interviewer beams in front of the camera, “i wish you two never ending happiness. thank you for letting me interview you guys!” he waves off, finding another celebrity to interview.
you and sae both smile and wave him goodbye as you two continue along the red carpet.
“do you really mean that?” you hear sae ask beside you. he was busy waving for the cameras. you let out a little giggle before waving around for the paparazzi and cameras around.
“mean what?”
“what you said about if it’s meant to be, it will be” he quotes you, tucking a stray hair behind your ear sending the audience and the paparazzi in a frenzy again.
“it happened to us, didn’t it?” you smile, motioning to your current situation.
sae was yours again, and you are his.
just how it should be.
Tumblr media
bonus!
you didn't consider how awkward it actually was to be working on another modeling gig with your boyfriend.
especially when the poses instructed by the photographer and way too intimate to be imitated in a semi-public setting for your liking.
“what are you being stiff for?” sae holds in his laugh, seeing how motionless your poses are with him. “it’s awkward when theres people around..” you say through gritted teeth, praying to the gods that this shoot will finally be over
“it’s not this awkward when we do this alone though..” sae seductively whispers, lowering his head just right at the shell of your ear.
the photographer squeals in joy at the amount of shots he got from that pose alone.
you feel your face burn up in embarrassment.
“sae!”

Being a mom to the Sully kids + Spider <3
heavily inspired by @star-girl69 (love your work btw) 🙏🤍 also you are mated with jake & neytiri in this because i said so ✌️😌 (fem!na'vi!reader)
sa'nok = mother & 'itan = son
Neteyam
Tumblr media
definitely the least clingiest out of all them
but needs a lot of words of affirmation
i feel like jake puts a lot of pressure on him to always be "the big brother", to look after his siblings that sometimes he just needs to be reminded that he is still a kid too
"sa'nok, can i talk to you about something?"
him venting to you and you just looking at him with pride in your eyes
scolding jake for being to hard on him
"Ma Jake he's still a child!"
he would always appreciated you for that and always felt that he could talk to you about anything that was bothering him
always telling him to smile more even tho he has human teeth
calling him when he was a baby "mini tiri" because he is literally a copy & paste version of her <3
Kiri
Tumblr media
she's definitely the hardest one to comfort
because of the whole grace thing and not knowing who her father is
A LOT OF LATE NIGHT TALKS
just you two walking around and talking about her connection with eywa
you being fiercely overprotective of her
she often feels odd; like she doesn't belong
but you are always there to remind her who she is and what she is worth
watching grace's videos together >>>
"sa'nok, do you think she would have liked me?"
"she would have loved you babygirl." <3
Lo'ak
Tumblr media
you are definitely he's favorite parent
he is such a mamma's boy 🤍
when he was a baby you just loved spoiling him rotten
in your eyes he does no wrong and he will always be your baby
"i'm just a freak, they'll never see me as their equal, they'll never accept me."
"i see you ma 'itan." <3
i feel like you would often offer to cook him his favorite food to comfort him
when he first bonded with payakan you were the first person he told
always reminding him how proud you are of him and that he is enough
Tuktirey
Tumblr media
the most clingiest out of all them
she always wants to be around you, play with you or just straight up cuddle with you
braiding her hair is your job at this point
she's always dragging you somewhere in the forest to explore with her
while you are doing something she will ask you to play with her at least a 100 times
"sa'nok come play with me pleaseeeeeee!"
you, her & neytiri are inseparable
when she gets homesick you try to cheer her up by taking care of her ilu together
Spider
Tumblr media
at first you are kinda weirded out
how is he supposed be around neteyam's age and so little?
you don't really develop a relationship with him until he starts to get a bit older
same as neytiri, it was hard for you to accept him but you managed to with time
you actually start seeing him as your own
braiding his hair (i feel like he's hair would be really important to him because it's one of the only things that makes him feel connected to the na'vi people)
teaching him how to hunt; how to use a bow & arrow
always warning the other kids to be gentle with him because he's human and his body is more easily fractured then theirs

You watched your siblings play in the water with the Metkayina siblings as they learned of their ways. You were just sat on the woven material of the Marui, a material that acted as a 'blanket' that your friends from back home weaved draped over your lap.
Tuktirey nears you, panting heavily as she tugs on your tail softly. She wipes off the water that irritated her face, giving you her signature big smile. "Come on, (name)! Swim with us!" She cheers.
At her sentence, the attention of your brothers and the two Metkayina siblings was caught. "Yeah, sis!" Lo'ak splashed around the water childishly, accidentally splashing on Tsireya in the process.
"What? Do you not know how to swim?" Ao'nung questions, getting on your nerves. Tsireya gives him a scolding glare, and then turns to you with a sweet smile.
"Come with us, (name), I will be teaching you if you have any problems." She states, looking up at you as your face scrunched up.
"I– i don't know, I think it's just best if I stay here."
Neteyam shakes his head, his braids moving at his actions. "Father will be mad if he learns you didn't spend the day learning, sister. He's gonna give you one of his big lectures again." He says, stating the obvious.
You blew raspberries, making Tuktirey giggle. Groaning, you stood up from your sitting position and went back to the direction of your home.
Neteyam pursed his lips as Tuk whined at you as you walked away. Tsireya looks at Lo'ak with a confused face, slightly worried for you. "Will she not be joining us? Maybe something is bothering her." She asks out of concern.
Lo'ak was about to respond to her despite not knowing why as well, before he heard the sound of loud thudding footsteps. The rest turns to see you jump in their direction, leaving them to scramble away as you jumped recklessly into the water.
Neteyam and Tuktirey cheers as you did so while you hurriedly went up the water to come up for air. "Yay! You did it!" Tuktirey praises, swimming towards you and wrapping her legs around your waist as she clung onto you like a koala.
You chuckled, "I haven't even done anything yet."
"Yeah, but you joined us." Lo'ak gently hits the back of your head, and you hissed at him playfully. Tsireya smiles at the scene as Ao'nung tried his best not to role his eyes.
"Come now, you four have still lots to learn!"
"Four?" You questioned, tilting your head. "Where's Kiri?"
"Not again."
"Again?" You exclaimed incredulously, looking at Neteyam with wide eyes. What does he mean again?
"Don't worry guys, Kiri is right here!" Your group hears a voice from a distance. You turn to see a boy frantically waving his hands in the air as kiri laughed at him, and you sighed in relief.
"Keep an eye on that girl, why don't you?" You clicked your tongue and Neteyam, and he playfully salutes at your orders.
Tumblr media
The sound of knife chopping on your families dinner ingredients filled the silence as you helped your mother with preparing. You have been drained from earliers activities, and your muscles were definitely sore.
You were thankful Tsireya was patient with you when her brother wasn't, or else you would've given up right then and there. You appreciated the girl, and you had taken a liking towards her. She was definitely good in teaching, her words and examples were well, but you had wished she told you about the pressures of the water when you rode your first Ilu.
Thankfully you weren't embarrassed like how your brother was.. you felt bad for him though.
Your mother, Neytitri noticed your unusual silence and stopped her chopping, looking at you suspiciously. "Is there something the matter, child?" She questioned, hiding her concern.
You let out a sigh, your harsh and hasty knife chopping slightly faltering at her acknowledgement. "I miss our home, ma." You told her, after a few beats of silence.
Your mother let's out a deep exhale, moving towards you to comfortingly rub circles on your back. Your shoulders slumped at her actions, finding her ways of reassurance nice. "I know, ma dear. But you know your father's intentions, you of all your siblings would understand." She says in a low voice.
"At least Tuk is enjoying it here." You blew raspberries, going back to chopping. Neytiri fondly smiles at your words, her hand switched from your back and on to your shoulder.
"What do you miss of our home?" She questioned.
And without missing a beat, you answered. "Everything." You said. You glanced at her, eyeing her reactions.
"It's gonna be hard to adjust for now, ma dear. But I promise you, you're going to fit just right in." Your mother spoke, tucking a strand of your hair behind your ear. You softly smiled at her, leaning your head on her chest. Her hand holds you there, whispering sweet nothings into your ear as she comforts you.
At the corner of her eye, she sees a tall blue figure standing at the opening of there house. She turns to see her husband looking at them fondly, and she smiles at him.

Hi,
Can you right anything to do with Aonung please bc he has my heart in a head lock and I’ve read everything to do with him,
Some ideas that pop into my head is him doing his hair. I know it has nothing to do with the Story line of Avatar twow but imagine him needing to up oils and leave-in conditioners because of the salt in the ocean.
Another idea which has more to do with the plot of the movie is him comforting rather a Sully!reader or a sully (bc idk if you do reader inserts I should’ve looked but I forgot) after Neteyam death at the end of the movie
Have a good -day-night-afternoon

after going for a swim, you help ao'nung fix his hair after diving into tides <3 [metkayinan reader]
bonus: ao'nung comforting you after your brother's death
[omatikayan reader]
You provided yourself a break by swimming freely in the beautiful water while others were having a fun time learning. You came across a baby ilus playing as you were paddling.
Tumblr media
Your body was being swayed by the cold water as soft waves slowly swept you away from the shore's golden sand. You grinned as you observed from a distance as Tsireya led the children of the rainforest into the water.
You could not help but be in awe of the baby ilus as they swam around one another while playing tag. It was Tsireya's beloved brother who swam towards you in a recognizable figure. Sand seemed to have catch his eye.
He seemed that he had been blown away by the water spirit. His expression caused you to give him a smile.
"what happened?" You questioned him with metkayinan hand movements, he rolled his eyes in the water as he replied you back with hand gestures.
"I got pounded by a huge tide" You chuckle as he replied to you, you then raised your head up as a sign to emerge from water and take a break from swimming.
He gave you a nod in agreement and began to ascend from the water with you.
"that's what you get for not listening to me"
Tumblr media
You brought him to the village hut after you at last returned to the white sand. Several friends waved to you both as you walked, some of them were giggling while Ao'nung walked furiously.
"have a seat while I grab oil treatment" You pointed at the boulder that was next to the cottage. He just let out an annoying groan and did as you requested.
You begged him to stop behaving childishly as the bottles were now on your hands, but all he did was roll his eyes. He straightened his sand-filled hair as you started moving closer to him.
"Look at your hair, it looks like it's been caught up by a tornado" you joked as he patiently sat while you were fixing his hair with conditioner made from aloe-vera plants.
You stand up and fixed your posture as you returned the ointment back to it's place.
"You really need to stop forcing yourself with these things or whatever you are doing while a high tide is going on" he doesn't say anything as he stands up, walking towards you.
“Ao'nung?” he continues not to say a single word as he kisses you for a second. You didn't complain or anything by the sudden kiss, but you did say something which caused him so grin at you.
"ugh, you big baby what is it now?"
Tumblr media
COMFORT?
It was midnight, and your family was all asleep inside the cottage, and tears streamed down your cheeks as you sat beside your sleeping younger sister.
You hugged your body as you tried to keep your tears quiet in order to not disturb your sleeping family.
You were Neteyam's closest sibling, and you're like a rare valuable memory to him. After your brother's death, your dazzling aura vanished; nothing was the same after the attack.
You glared at your family as you exited the hut and proceeded down the pathway to the beach, seeking to breathe in some fresh air. You were checking your surroundings to see whether anyone was awake. You didn't wish for anyone to see you cry.
What you didn't realize was that Ao'nung was keeping an eye on you from afar, he noticed your change of personality. You were normally a cheerful and lively person, however you weren't and haven't really been for a while after the death of your eldest brother.
he watched as you sat beneath the white sand while you hugged your own body, he understood the feeling you were having. No one is ever okay when a love one has dissapeared.
You wished you were back home, wishing you were in the rainforest. where the trees and plants surrounded you. Where the positive memories were created.
You groaned as you peered blankly into the ocean, wondering if your brother's corpse was safe down there. You attended to his funeral but couldn't look when his body was submerged in water.
Ao'nung was able to approach closer to you, he saw how you were sorrowful, and he was aware of it. He wanted to comfort you, but he doesn't know how.
"uhm… hey?" he murmured as you were startled, gently turning your head to see a familiar face seated next to you.
You knew he didn't actually know how to comfort you, but he wanted to in his eyes. You shifted your head to his shoulder before he could say another word.
"I know you want to comfort me, but thank you for trying." You giggled, He didn't respond but smiled. He grabbed your hand sluggishly as you both listened to the peaceful waves.

Of Duty and Desire | Chapter 2 | Neteyam x Metkayina!reader
Tumblr media
A/N: Thank you so much for the love I got on the first part 🥰 and thank you for your patience waiting for this one. I hope y’all enjoy it, and while you’re waiting for the next part, allow me to shamelessly plug my other finished fic here.
5.2k words, which in the words of my roommate @britany1997 “you write long ass fics.” (I know, Brit, I know)
Chapter 1 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Epilogue
It had now been over a year since the Sullys' arrival in the reef, and you couldn't imagine your life without them anymore. Tuk was as good at diving as any Metkayina child her age. You and Lo'ak bonded over your ongoing friendly competition over who was the better ilu rider (you were, but he was getting better everyday). Kiri had truly blossomed in the reef, and nobody treated her differently anymore.
But out of the four of them, Neteyam was the one you felt closest to. Even though you enjoyed laughing and joking together, you both understood what it meant to have a responsibility to your clan, a sense of duty to your people. It was a shared experience that was part of the reason you had become friends so quickly. When you would feel overwhelmed or frustrated by the high expectations of your parents or Ronal, he was always there to listen and cheer you up.
On warmer nights, when you felt stressed, you would sneak out to enjoy the peace of the water on the beach alone. You spent so much of your day busy with things to do that you felt as though you rarely had a moment of peace with yourself.
On one such night, you walked along the edge of the beach before settling down in the sand, the waves of the water gently lapping at your feet. The night air was warm, and you lay back on the sand to look up at the stars. You stayed like that for some time before the sound of crunching sand behind you broke the peaceful silence.
You sat up quickly in alarm and found that it was Neteyam walking along the beach. He seemed just as surprised at finding you there on the beach by yourself. "You startled me," you told him as he drew near. "And you startled me," he countered. "I didn't think I would find anyone out so late." You hummed and explained, "I couldn't sleep." He sat down in the sand next to you. "Nor could I," he replied. "Do you often come out at night?"
You shrugged and leaned back on your hands. "Sometimes," you admitted. "I enjoy looking at the stars." Neteyam looked up at the clear night sky. He searched for a while before a slow smile appeared on his face. "Do you see that one there?" He asked, pointing at a star. You looked after him, but you weren't sure which he was referring to. "Which one?" You questioned.
He moved in close next to you, bringing his face right up next to yours. His shoulder leaned against yours as he lifted a hand to point at the sky. "There," he said softly as he pointed at a star flickering above. "The yellowish one." You stared up at where he pointed and noticed the yellow star he was referring to. "I see it," you said quietly with a small smile.
You turned your head to look at him, and you suddenly became aware of how close he was to you. Neteyam seemed to have the same realization because he pulled away gently and looked away self-consciously. "My father came from there," he explained as he looked back at the sky. "That very star."
You looked back up at the flickering light in amazement. "That is incredible," you whispered. "Your father is legendary amongst the Na'vi." He shrugged nonchalantly. "It is hard to see him as such when I have seen him embarrass himself countless times," he told you with a wry grin.
You suppressed a laugh. "I suppose to you, he is just your father," you mused. He smiled down at you. "Everyone sees him as this fearless leader," he explained, and his voice suddenly became very somber. "But I know what really scares him." You watched him expectantly, trying to think of all the great beasts that could inspire fear in such a renowned warrior. Then, with a sly smirk, he leaned in close and whispered, "My mother."
That time, he actually did make you laugh. "Tonowari is the same," you told him, and Neteyam nodded emphatically. "That is understandable. Ronal is very formidable," he said. You shrugged your shoulders casually. "She's not so bad," you defended. Your mother was a lifelong friend of the tsahik, and you had become very familiar with Ronal and developed a better understanding of her strict demeanor during your time as her apprentice.
Neteyam shot you a disbelieving look. You sighed before admitting, "She is formidable, yes, but she is very loyal and fiercely protective." You sifted the sand between your fingers and looked up at him with a smirk. "But I see how she can be scary. Even Tonowari thinks so."
Neteyam chuckled at you. "Something about the role of Olo'eyktan seems to attract fearsome mates," he observed humorously. You hummed in amusement. "I hope I will inspire the same fear in Aonung one day," you joked.
You weren't quite sure what it was, but you sensed a slight shift in Neteyam's demeanor. It was the prolonged silence between your statement and his reply, almost as if you had unwittingly said the wrong thing. You looked over at him, but when he glanced back, he offered a faint smile. "Perhaps you will," he said finally. "But for now, I have to admit, you don't seem very intimidating."
You scoffed lightheartedly and tossed some sand at him. "How dare you," you told him with false offense. "I will be even more fearsome than Ronal and your mother combined." He chuckled at your theatrics and brushed the sand off of his arm. "If that is true, then you will be like a palulukan," he stated.
You tilted your head at him in confusion. "A palulukan?" you echoed questioningly. Neteyam seemed to remember that the fierce, feline creature he spoke of did not live around the reef, and therefore you had no knowledge of it. "Palulukan, the bringer of fear," he explained. "They are large, dangerous predators in the forest. There is nothing they are afraid of, and there is nothing that is not afraid of them."
You smiled thoughtfully at his words. "That does sound fearsome," you conceded. "And I thought the ikran were intimidating." Neteyam huffed in amusement. "They certainly can be," he agreed. "But they are excellent companions when they're bonded." You hummed in consideration and replied, "That doesn't make them any less intimidating."
Neteyam was staring at you with a thoughtful face, a slow smile forming on his face. "Would you like to see them?" He asked mischievously. You looked over at him quizzically. "Right now?" You clarified. He shrugged, his lips still turned up in a grin. "Sure," he replied. "But we don't have to if you'd rather not."
You felt your own lips twist into a smile. You had wanted to see the great beasts the Sullys flew up close since they first arrived, but for some reason, you had felt a little awkward about asking them. Now, you finally had an invitation to go.
"I would love to see them," you told Neteyam sincerely. He stood up eagerly and held his hand out to you. You took it, and the two of you headed over to where they kept their ikran. The great, flying creatures preferred to stay up on the rocky precipices above the water, so the two of you had to walk quite a distance, but neither of you minded when you were in each other's company.
When you made it to the base of the cliff, Neteyam made a strange calling sound that carried up the side of the rock. After a moment, you saw the silhouette of his ikran glide over the edge of the cliff and settle down in front of you. You couldn't help but laugh in amazement as Neteyam stepped forward to greet his ikran.
"Do not look at his eyes," he warned as you approached carefully. You averted your gaze obediently and instead focused on the size of its powerful wings. "He is beautiful," you told him earnestly. "You chose well."
He chuckled as he stroked his ikran's neck. "He chose me," he corrected you. "Ikran are not like ilu or skimwings. They only bond with one rider. It is one of the trials of the Omatikaya." You listened attentively as you wandered around the ikran in admiration. "It must be very difficult," you noted as his ikran rustled its wings a few times. He huffed in amusement and muttered, "Very."
You wanted to touch the ikran, but you hesitated, not wanting to agitate it by accident. As though he could read your mind, Neteyam offered you a reassuring smile. "You can touch him," he told you. Giving him a quick glance, you carefully reached out and brushed your hand along its leathery skin.
His ikran snapped its head to look at you, causing you to jerk your hand back quickly. Neteyam chuckled at your reaction. Coming up behind you, he placed his hand on the back of yours and brought it back up to the body of his ikran, guiding your hand over its smooth, green skin.
You gave a small laugh of amazement. Under your palm, you could feel its tense muscles around its wings. "He is very strong," you observed. Neteyam hummed quietly in response right beside ear.
You turned your head to face him better. Even in the dim light, you could make out every detail of his face, the pattern of the stars on his face and his amber eyes that seemed to glow. In the silence between you, he seemed to be studying your face as well, his eyes flicking back and forth between your own.
Neteyam seemed to pull himself out if his thoughts. He withdrew his hand from yours and stepped back to stroke the head if his ikran. You ran your hand over the leathery wings as you took a moment to shake yourself out of your thoughts as well.
"It was a startling sight when your family first arrived," you said, finally breaking the silence. "Few of us had ever seen Na'vi fly in the sky." He smiled over at you thoughtfully. "Would you like to fly?" He asked, his corners of his lips turned upwards playfully.
You turned to him in surprise. "Are you being serious?" You questioned skeptically. He shrugged. "If you'd like," he replied simply. "We already came all the way out here." You looked back at the powerful creature beneath your palm, and you couldn't deny the excitement you felt at his proposal.
"Are you sure?" You asked nervously. "Is it safe?" Neteyam's face softened as he smiled at you. "I will keep you safe," he assured you. "I promise."
You could hear the sincerity in his voice, and looking up in his face, you knew he would keep his word. "Okay," you said softly, then added playfully, "but you better not let me fall." He laughed at you. "I won't," he promised.
Attaching his queue to his ikran, Neteyam hoisted himself up on its back. He held out his hand to you, and after a brief hesitation, you took it. He pulled you up to sit on the space behind him. Since there was no saddle to sit on, you drew yourself close to Neteyam's back.
"The takeoff will be the worst part," he warned over his shoulder. "Just hold on to me, I won't let you fall." You wrapped your arms around his torso and replied softly, "Okay." The ikran crawled away to the edge of the cliff. "Ready?" Neteyam asked, and you could tell by his voice that he was smiling. Wrapping your arms tighter, you replied, "Ready."
His ikran lurched upwards and quickly began beating its wings. The sudden movement made you gasp and squeeze Neteyam's torso even tighter. Your heart was pounding in your chest, and you were almost starting to regret agreeing to this, but almost as quickly as it started, the frantic flapping stopped.
The wind was rushing through your hair as you glided gently through the air. The wings of the ikran moved gently to maintain its height, but it was not as hard or as fast as when it left the ground. After the startling takeoff, you couldn't help but laugh in giddy delight over the thrilling feeling of being in the air.
Neteyam cast a quick look over his shoulder at you and returned your wide smile. He held your thigh securely as his ikran turned right over the water. You could see the reflections of the stars above you in the water below. Neteyam brought his ikran just above the surface of the water, its wings barely skimming the top.
You marveled at the feeling of flying. The warm air felt cool as it rushed around you. The world seemed to be moving slowly around you. You felt your stomach flutter as you swooped upwards, and you began climbing through the air again.
"This is incredible!" You shouted over the sound of the wind. Neteyam laughed in response. "Not like an ilu, right?" he called out. You laughed too before replying, "Not at all."
You continued rising through the air steadily, and when you leveled out, you gasped at the sight below you. Everything was so beautiful. The bioluminescent plants below lit up the village, and the sea was sparkling with the light of the stars.
You leaned your cheek against Neteyam's back as you took in the image of everything under you. It was so incredible that, for a moment, you thought that maybe you were dreaming, but you knew this couldn't be the case. You never could have come up with this feeling in your sleep, and the rushing air around you and the warmth of Neteyam's body against yours was too real to be a dream.
You weren't sure how long you were both in the air, but it didn't feel like long enough. Eventually, Neteyam had his ikran settle down on the beach right at the edge of the village before he leapt down off its back. He took you by the hand and helped you dismount easily.
"That was exhilarating!" You gushed in excitement. He grinned at you and admitted, "I was worried you were going to back out last minute." You pushed him playfully. "Not me," You laughed. "I wasn't going to miss out on being the first of the Metkayina to fly!"
He chuckled at your giddy bravado. "I'm glad you enjoyed it," he said. "It's easy for me to take flying for granted." You shook your head in amazement and sighed. "Thank you," you told him, staring up at him earnestly. "It was very generous of you to take me." He had a soft smile as he gazed down at you. "It was nothing," he replied gently. "If you ever want to go again, just ask." You grinned and nodded. "I'd like that," you said softly.
A brief silence settled over the two of you as you looked up into his face. In the same way as earlier that night, you found yourself studying his face again. His smile was contagious, and the way his eyes looked down at you so softly made your face grow warm.
After a moment, Neteyam sighed reluctantly. "It is getting late," he mentioned. "I think it would be best for us to go home." You closed your eyes and sighed as well. You knew that he was right and that you should do the same.
He gave his ikran an affectionate pat before disconnecting his queue. His ikran took to the skies, blowing the sand as he flapped away. You both watched for a moment before turning back to the village.
Neteyam walked quietly back with you to your home, careful not to disturb anyone around. When you arrived, you turned back to face him. "I will see you tomorrow," he whispered softly. You couldn't suppress the smile on your face as you responded, "I will see you then."
You watched for a moment as he walked away, still wearing a faint smile on your face. As you settled into bed, you replayed the night in your head. You could still feel the rush of wind on your face, the warmth of his body against your own, and you could hear his laugh ringing through your head.
You stared at the canopy above you for a long time, growing more and more perplexed. Neteyam was a close friend, and you had always thought he was kind and intelligent, but now, your thoughts were wandering back to the feeling of your face resting against his back, his steadying grip on your thigh as you swooped over the water, and the way he looked at you in the silent moments between laughs.
What perplexed you was that you found yourself missing his touch, missing his presence. You wanted to hear more stories about the forest and to see his face light up as he told them. You wanted to hold him close again as you flew into the late night sky.
Worst of all, you felt a faint, dangerous desire growing in you hoping that he felt the same way.
A welcome distraction came the following week after your late-night adventure with Neteyam. With the water growing warmer again, you and your clan were overjoyed to welcome the return of the tulkun. Along with the rest of the Metkayina, the day that they returned, you spent hours in the water with your spirit sister, Tanati. She was a talented storyteller, and she regaled you with her adventures away from the reef.
Every year with the return of the tulkun, the Metkayina held a great feast at night. All along the beach, there were several fires lit. A great supply of food was provided, and the night was to be filled with music and dancing. Everybody dressed in their finest clothing, and you even changed your hairstyle for the occasion.
This was your favorite time of the year. The whole clan was buzzing with excitement as they prepared for the feast. Being reconnected with Tanati brought you so much joy, and the happiness of the rest of the clan made it all the sweeter.
You sat with Tonowari's family as you all began eating. A wide variety of fish and vegetables as well as sweet nectar from the tropical plants on shore were all distributed among the people. You laughed with the Sully children, Tsireya, and other friends as you ate in the diminishing light of the evening.
After a short interlude of time to eat, Tonowari stood up, drawing the attention of the rest of the clan. "Tonight," he called out loudly for everyone to hear, "we celebrate the return of our tulkun brothers and sisters!" Cheers rose up from the masses. As they died away, he continued, "We are reminded of the cycle of life, and we celebrate new life as well as the lives of those who have gone on to be with our Great Mother."
There was a brief silence as everyone reflected on his words. Both the Na'vi and the tulkun had celebrated the births of children as well as mourned the deaths of loved ones in the community that year, but it was important that the balance of life be honored and celebrated, especially on a night like this.
"Now," Tonowari said, "let us sing and dance in celebration to honor our tulkun family." More cheers rose up from the people, and soon after, drums began pounding in the open air.
As the music began, you perked up. The opening song was an easy dance for everyone to join. You grabbed Neteyam's arm in excitement. "You must join us!" You said eagerly, pulling him gently as you stood up. He let out a small laugh and shook his head. "I don't know these dances," he pointed out, resisting your pulling.
You gave an imploring smile. "This is easy!" you explained. "Just watch." He didn't budge, but he looked up at you with a playful grin. "I will watch," he agreed before adding, "from here." People were already lining up to begin the dance, and since you didn't want to miss out, you dropped his arm with an exaggerated sigh and rolled your eyes with a smile.
Before leaving, you held a hand out to Kiri. "Join me," you offered her pleadingly. After a brief hesitation, she grabbed your hand and skipped across the sand to join in the dance. As you all began moving, you demonstrated the fluid motion of the dance to her, your arms moving around you and your body rocking in a motion that imitated the pull of the sea waves.
As you danced, you didn't see the Omatikayan boy staring at you. He had a soft smile on his face as he watched you dancing with his sister, admiring your graceful movements in time with the drums. He almost regretted not following after you to dance, but he enjoyed a better view from where he was sitting. While watching you, he didn't notice his mother's discerning gaze watching him instead.
As the night wore on, the dancing continued. You hardly stopped, only taking the occasional break to catch your breath. Neteyam's eyes always followed you as you dance. You were practically glowing as you moved, and he marveled at how you looked in the flickering light of the fires adorned in your pretty accessories with your new hairstyle.
At one point, Aonung took you to dance. The two of you were facing across from each other in a line. Neteyam stared hard as the two of you mirrored each other's movements in time with the music. You were beaming as you twirled in the sand, and Aonung seemed to reflect your delight. Neteyam watched you dance with him for entire song, unable to tear his eyes away from you, and Neytiri didn't miss it.
Later on, you sat out a song to catch your breath. You wandered over to where the Sullys sat. Tsireya was already seated next to Lo'ak and was explaining the significance of the moves to him. You sat down beside her, breathing heavily from all of your dancing in the sand.
Neteyam moved to sit on the other side of you. "You have not danced once," you scolded him playfully. "Even Lo'ak joined in." It was true. Tsireya had actually managed to convince him to join her in the sand, though he moved awkwardly as he tried imitating the motion of the dance.
"Believe me," he said, "watching that from here was much more enjoyable than joining in." You laughed at his words. "At least he's joining in the celebration," you retorted playfully. Neteyam didn't respond, he just smiled at your joking attitude.
The dance ended, and the participants and onlookers alike laughed and cheered. After a brief respite, the musicians began a new song. You nudged Neteyam's arm gently. "The night is nearly over," you said. "This is your last chance."
He looked at you, and you saw a slow smile spread across his face. Without saying a word, he held his hand out to you. You beamed and took it immediately. Standing up together, you headed over to where the line was forming. "I still don't know the dance," he told you with a grin. You laughed and gave his hand a reassuring squeeze before letting go to move across from him. "Just copy what I do," you said.
This particular song was slower, and so it was easier for him to follow along. With every step, every turn, and every move, his eyes stayed intently focused on you. He mirrored your movement almost perfectly, and you smiled as you drew close together. In the dim evening light, his face was illuminated by the fires around you, and his normally yellowish eyes were almost a flame-colored orange
The same flustered feeling you had felt the previous week began fluttering in your chest. Your movements were automatic as you became transfixed on Neteyam. He seemed to be a faster learner than Lo'ak when it came to dancing because his movements were fluid and almost perfectly in time with yours. Watching him perform the Metkayina dances so well made you beam with pride, and you felt as though nobody else was present but the two of you.
The whole time, Neteyam's enchanting smile never wavered, and you hardly realized when the dance had ended. The two of you stood in the sand for a few moments, slightly winded and grinning widely. The sight of the other dancers walking away from the open dancing space pulled you out of your daze finally, and together, you and Neteyam headed back to where his family was sitting and his mother was watching closely.
You sighed happily as you plopped down in the sand besides Tsireya. She nudged you playfully, and you nudged her back with a grin. On your other side, Neteyam sat down with a quiet grunt. "I thought you said it was my last chance," he said cheekily, nodding at the next round of dancers lining up in the sand.
"This dance is for mated couples only," you explained. "It will be over soon. Then, we will sing together before the celebration is finished." He nodded his understanding at you, his eyes fixated on the dancing couples on the sand.
"This is a wonderful tradition," he said earnestly. "I only watched from a distance last year." You followed where his eyes were fixed on the moving figures. "It is one of my favorite nights of the year," you admitted with a sight of contentment. He glanced back at you with a soft smile and said, "I understand why."
The dancing came to an end at that moment, and all of the couples returned to where their groups were seated. Ronal stepped up at the center of the beach with all eyes on her expectantly. After a few moments of quiet, she opened her mouth and sang the opening verse to the Song of Thankfulness.
As her clear, melodic voice rang out, you and the other women joined in the song, repeating the same line. Eventually, the deeper voices of the men joined in the song. There were no instruments used, it was all just a chorus of voices that carried across the beach. You closed your eyes and lifted your face to the stars as you sang, absorbing the moment of peace and happiness with your people.
As the song came to an end, you opened your eyes reluctantly, not wanting the night to end. From the corner of your eye, you could see Neteyam watching you, but when you turned to look at him, his gaze quickly darted away. From your other side, Tsireya moved to stand, and you knew it was time for everyone to retreat back to their homes.
"Good night," you told Neteyam quietly as you began to stand up. He quickly jumped up from his sitting position and offered his hand to you. With a soft smile, you accepted it, and he pulled you up gently from the sand. As you stood up, he held onto your hand for a beat and gazed down at you, the dying fire casting flickering shadows across his face. "Good night," he said finally and let go of your hand.
You missed the feeling of his touch immediately, and you were grateful that it was too dark for him to see your face blushing. You managed to pull your attention away Neteyam and turned to the rest of his family. Lo'ak and Kiri were also standing to their feet to go home. Tuk had fallen asleep long ago and was being carried by her father while Neytiri watched closely as you turned away from Neteyam.
"Good night," you told them with a polite nod. The weariness of dancing was finally affecting you, and you were eager to fall asleep. They all bid you goodnight in return, and you turned and walked back to where your family was waiting.
The Sullys headed back to their own place. After all of their children were tucked away to sleep, Neytiri gave her mate a squeeze on the shoulder and motioned with her head to the entrance of their tent. Understanding her silent request, Jake followed her outside.
Outside of their tent, Neytiri turned to face him. "You need to speak to your son before he does something stupid," she whispered to him in English in case any of the Metkayina were nearby. Jake raised an eyebrow in confusion. "You're gonna have to be more specific," he responded quietly. Neytiri made a disapproving face. "Your eldest," she clarified. "He has grown very fond of the tsakarem girl."
Jake let out a little sigh. He had noticed his son's affection for you as well, but he hadn't really considered it particularly urgent. "What do you want me to do?" He asked. Neytiri stepped closer to him and spoke in a low voice. "He needs to—" she paused to find the right word in English. "He needs to separate from her."
Jake gave her an uncomfortable look. He knew that you had been very kind to all of his children, and he didn't like the idea of pushing you away from his family. Neytiri caught the meaning in his face and turned away from him in mild exasperation. "She is tsakarem," she whispered insistently. "She is spoken for. This can only end badly."
After a moment, Jake's lips pulled upwards in a sly grin. He hummed thoughtfully and walked up behind his mate, sliding his arms around her waist and pulling her against his chest. "I think I've heard this story before," he whispered teasingly in her ear. "A young warrior from a strange land being welcomed into a new life, learning new customs, meeting a pretty tsakarem who is spoken for."
Despite herself, Neytiri began smiling softly as Jake nuzzled her cheek affectionately. "In fact, I remember falling in love with you on a night like tonight," he said gently. "It didn't turn out so bad for us, did it?"
She sighed reluctantly. "This is different," she insisted quietly. Jake gave a light chuckle. "How?" He questioned. Neytiri opened her mouth to answer, but she found that anything she could say about her son was almost identical to the situation she had lived through herself, and for the first time, she could truly understand the headache she probably gave her parents all those years ago.
"We are here under uturu," she said finally. "If something happens, they can revoke their shelter, and we will all be in danger again." Jake sighed, knowing that she was right. "I will speak to him," he conceded quietly.
Neytiri nodded without reply. After a moment, she muttered, "He gets it from you. You are a bad influence." Jake chuckled again. "Charm and good looks are the Sully curse," he said as he pressed a kiss to her temple.
Neytiri's mouth twisted in a grin at his words. They both stood there for a while with Jake holding her from behind. Even though they didn't say it, they were both reflecting on the beginning of their relationship, him being a strange foreigner and her being betrothed to another man.
Despite the fact that he was going to try to discourage Neteyam from being with you, Jake couldn't help but feel that if his son was anything like him, he wasn't going to listen.

Law'si
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Trust, honesty, and loyalty. Those are the three main keys in a relationship, be is family, lover, friendship, kinship, it doesn't matter. Those three play a key role. The three main core. Everything.
Law'si is a kind girl, who would give anything for those she loves dearly. Especially her mate neteyam. She wonders sometimes what did she do for Eywa to unite her with neteyam. The love of her life, her sweet and kind mate. He is all and more.
Which is why at times, the guilt burns her, it is like having acid climb up your throat and cant keep it down. The lies she has told all to not just her mate, but to everyone.
Tumblr media
She isn't a half-bred like neteyam and his siblings. Law'si is a avatar, a dream walker. She never united her soul with her na'vi body. Telling everyone that her mother was na'vi and her father was a avatar. Much like jake and neytiri. That way no one would question her much less her background.
For a long time it worked, no one suspected anything. It was fine, no signs of suspicions, no lies detected, her life was fine. Everything is fine.
Until it wasn't anymore.
the RDA came back, stronger and more cruel. Weapons of mass destruction to attack and kill the peaceful tulkun. And to make matters worse, the very demon who destroyed many na'vi lives has come back in a na'vi body himself. A true demon in the flesh.
Of only that demon didnt come back, none of this mess would have happened...
Tumblr media
"please!! we have to get spider!" lo'ak begged neteyam and law'si to help him rescue spider. Law'si had a bad feeling, she knew something wasnt going to end up right.
Oh how she hated that she was right.
"NO!!" quickly and swiftly she pushed neteyam down to the waters, letting one of the metal bullets pierce her shoulder, letting her fall down into the cold waters.
Neteyam cheers at the success but was cut too short, he sees his mate struggling to keep her head up for air.
"I've been shot....!!" she says weakly. Neteyam began to panic, seeing her blood flow in the water, dying it red. A rush of adrenaline coursed through his body. Quickly getting her to a ilu tsrieya brought with her, quickly mounting on it with tsireya, lo'ak and spider holding tight.
"its going to be ok yawne! you're going to be ok!!" he tries to reassure law'si, but really, he was reassuring more himself. Taking her to the flat rocks, neteyam gently places her down and trying to inspect the wound. Tsireya looked into it as well, in her training, she knew law'si wasn't going to make it.
Neteyam applied pressure to the wound as means to stop the bleeding, but the flow never stopped. His blue hands now covered in her blood. Cold fear runs down his back.
"n-net..." law'si tries to speak. Her breathing short and heavy, trying to keep herself awake. Neytiri and jake arrived to see the horrifying scene before them.
"h-home..!!" she continues to try speaking out, trying to make sense for neteyam. "w-we're going home yawne...!" his voice cracks, trying his bet to be composed but was failing miserably.
Neytiri was crying as well, she did not wish to see her son witness his mates death. No one should ever. Neytiri gently strokes law'si head, whispering reassuring words into her ears.
"we're going home....!! y-you will be fine..!! its going to be ok!!" neteyam says more, stroking her beloveds face. "nete I am...." her pupils dilate, her last breathe leaving her body and her limbs limp.
"law'si? no no no..!! LAW'SI!!" neteyam screams his heart out, shaking furiously. Holding her limp body, his tears flow none stop. Jake tries to pull him away from the body but neteyam kept a firm grip on his mate. Praying to great mother to bring back his love, his life, his everything. No matter his loud he screams, he begs, neteyam isn't going to see his beloved again.
Or so he thought.
Tumblr media
A week has past since the great battle. A week since neteyam lost his beloved. A week since her funeral. A week of misery. Everyone tried to help neteyam, ease his mourning. He didn't eat as much, slept as much, never smiled again. His family, his friends, they all tried, really. But there really isn't nothing to help him, poor boy lost his mate. A wound that would take years to heal, if it ever does.
That is, until one day, norm came in his avatar form, and he wasn't alone. He brought someone with him, someone unfamiliar yet familiar.
"neteyam, someone wants to see you. It is really important that you se her.." norm talks to him, face to face. Neteyam wasn't really in the mood to see anyone. Only tracing the beads of his beloved's songchord. The only thing he was able to keep after her burial.
"not now norm" he mutters. Still able to hear him though. Norm nods a bit.
"but at least hear me out-"
"what part of not now don't you understand?!" neteyam lashes out. He is tired, and just wants to be in his own thoughts.
"not now? or not ever?"
Neteyam froze. He knows that voice. That sweet kind voice he missed so much.
Standing at the entrance of his home stood a human girl. If her not wearing a mask didn't surprise him, it was those familiar eyes. Those human eyes held the same love, the same warmth and comfort his mate once had.
"w-who are you...?" neteyam asks in a whisper like tone. The girl smiles nervously as she rubs her hands together.
"law'si"
Neteyam stood up so quick it catches both norm and law'si by surprised. In mere seconds, neteyam was already up and front with law'si. Examining her very carefully, taking in all the details the human has before him. The eyes were the same, her lips, her smile, even the way she is standing!
"it really is you...but how?! I saw you die....!!" tears were gathering at the corner of his eyes, ready to cry once more. Law'si beat him to it. As she began to cry.
"I was scared to tell you! I was never a half-bred like you, I was a dream walker this whole time. I didn't know how to tell you so I lied. I lied and it led you to believe I died. I am so so sorry neteyam. I shouldn't have put you through that!!" she hugs him as tightly as she could while crying her soul out.
Neteyam was processing what was revealed, before gently wrapping his big arms around her. Taking in her scent, she smelled the same as always. Fresh grass and flowery aroma.
"its ok, its ok yawne. It's still you, I am so happy you're alright. Im so happy!!" he cries soon after. Both hugging tightly and never wanting to let go.
The way neteyam sees it, he is eternally grateful to have his mate back with him. May not be the same but it will work. She is still the same lovable girl who stole his heart. And nothing will change that. Be it na'vi or human. Neteyam doesn't care. Law'si is still law'si.
Tumblr media
And that is all for this request! I hope you all enjoyed it! until next time! see ya!

“You’ve struck me down and thrown away my heart, and you dare laugh?” Neteyam grasped at his chest, mimicking heartbreak. You laughed harder at his amusing behaviour. He kept finding ways to cheer you up, and you were grateful to him for it.
The day after Ao’nung’s outburst, you came to Neteyam for comfort. You were both sitting on a tiny sandy island just a little ways from Awa’atlu, cracking jokes and teaching each other stuff.
He had taught you some more english lingo, and you taught him how to swim faster. Not too fast though, you worried that if you taught him too well he’d be faster than you.
You never told him about what Ao’nung had said the other night, you just wanted him to make you feel like everything was going to be okay again. You had gotten used to his presence and the way he made a deep buzzing sound in your heart.
“Okay okay, what’s a playboy again?” you tried to comprehend the language, but there were just so many rules and confusing terms. “A playboy is a guy who can get a lot of people pining for him, you know, like me,” he smiled smugly.
You laughed, slapping his elbow at his amazingly stupid words.“Yeah, right! The only person you talk to aside from your family is me! And I don’t like you in that way,” you retorted, stifling the rest of your laugh.
“Really?” he frowned, before leaning in closer to you, eyes flickering from your eyes to your lips. “Wanna test that theory?” he smiled.
This was the second time Neteyam had been this close, the distance between you two threatening to close ever so suddenly like a door in a room with an open window. You wanted to kiss him, but it just felt too soon.
You placed a hand gently on his chest, about to push him away, but before you could the sounds of an ilu splashing out of the water caught both your attention. Ao’nung leered at you two with immeasurable anger behind his eyes, something that Neteyam hadn’t been able to catch.
“Hey fish lips, give us some space, yeah?” Neteyam called out to him with a grin on his face. With that you quickly pushed Neteyam away, getting up on your feet. “Ao’nung,” you put your two hands out as if to defend yourself,  “this isn’t what it looks like.”
Neteyam looked confused at your statement. He was still sitting down, looking at how Ao’nung practically leapt off the ilu, taking heavy steps towards you with a scowl on his face. “Really?” your brother spat. “Your excuses are getting lamer and lamer as the days go by, Y/N.”
Your ears flattened, clenching your jaw. “Ao’nung, let’s go talk somewhere else.” you avoided Neteyam’s gaze, continuing to look at your younger twin.
“No. We can talk right here, in front of him.” Ao’nung pointed at the still bewildered omaticayan who was getting up, his finger trembling with fury.
“Fine!” you snapped. “I still don’t get why you’re so hung up about me and Tsireya liking people. It’s not that serious!”
“It’s not about you liking people.” he snarled. “It’s about you liking them. They aren’t one of us!”
“Why the hell does that matter!” you shouted back. Your brother’s eyes widened when the foreign word spilled out of your mouth, before his expression turned hard.
“He’s brainwashing you.” he whispered to himself, as if he had come to a mind blowing realisation.
“Y/N, he’s one of those demons, we can’t trust them!” as he got closer to you, you backed away before Neteyam stopped him by the shoulder. “Don’t get any closer,” he warned, his voice low.
“Get off me, demon.” Ao’nung spat, grabbing Neteyam’s arm and throwing it off his own shoulder, seemingly appalled at the touch.
“I’ve already gotten rid of your brother, don’t make me do the same to you–” he stopped mid sentence, as if caught off guard. His body froze, lips still parted.
A short moment of silence followed that was almost unbearable.
“What did you say?” Neteyam spoke up, eyes turned to slits. Ao’nung couldn’t answer him, his frightened eyes fixed on you. You inhaled deeply, suppressing the anger that boiled under your skin. If your little brother had meant what he just said, he was in for it now.
“Ao’nung,” you seethed, your voice low.
“What did you do?”
Tumblr media
(this would be a VERY appropriate time to play slipping through my fingers by ABBA)
You watched silently as Neteyam dragged your brother by the kuru, bringing him to his father. “Tell him what you told me,” he practically growled, tugging on Ao’nung’s kuru. Your brother fell silent for a bit, before confessing what he’d done.
He’d told the father of the boy he’d just doomed that he tricked his son into going out of the reef, leaving him to fend for himself for a ‘joke.’
The sky felt like it was crumbling as you sat there, legs dangling at the edge of your marui, watching people leave and return on their ilus in a desperate search for Neteyam’s brother. You were to stay back and assist any affairs unrelated to his disappearance, an order met by your protests at first.
You felt a shift in the atmosphere, the feeling of someone’s tenseness radiating through the air. “Ao’nung.” you called out, and you imagined him stiffening. “Come,” you patted the spot next to you. “Sit.”
Reluctantly, he dragged his heavy body towards you, sitting down without a word. He had expected you to start scolding him, to start screaming at him for his stupidity, but instead,
you snaked your arm around his shoulder, pulling him towards you.
“I don’t know what reason you had for doing what you did, but I just want you to know,” he sucked in a breath, awaiting his damnation.
“You’re going to be alright,” you smiled softly, nudging his head to rest on your shoulder.
Huh?
“You don’t have to say anything. Just know that when the time comes, I’ll be here for you.”
He was utterly baffled.
What were you doing?
Trying to guilt him into apologising?
Because you didn’t need to do that, he already would have to pay for his stupid crime for the rest of his life. He wanted to lift his head up, to reject your reassurance,
but he just couldn’t.
Instead, a single tear flowed down his cheek, landing softly on your skin.
With your hand placed softly on his shoulder, you rest your head upon his, gently rubbing soothing circles into his tense muscles.
“Y/N! The meanies kept on picking me today!” a tiny Ao’nung cried to you, his tears soaking your shoulder as he cried on it.
“Shh, baby bro. It’s going to be alright,” a little you hugged him tightly, leading him to sit where you both were sitting right now.
The silence was filled with his sniffles, both past and present.
“You’re going to be alright.” both little you and present you whispered, shutting your eyes tightly and squeezing his shoulder.
The memory of the promise you made to him rushed back to you, as clear as if it had happened yesterday. Despite being twins, he was much smaller than you at the time, which made him an easy target for others to tease.
Although the teasing was meant to be lighthearted, he struggled to find the humour in it, which was kind of ironic now.
“Nung,” the small you said, a serious look in your eyes.
You smiled to yourself, remembering your slurred words. You were only 5 years old at the time, your sentences barely coherent to adults. But being twins, you could understand each other perfectly.
“I will protect you, always.”
“No matter what?”
“No matter what.
nothing can ever,
ever,
take me away from you,
I. promise.”
Tears well up in your eyes as you realised, you had already broken that promise many times over.
Each time you retreated to your private little sanctuary, avoiding your problems, you were also avoiding him.
Perhaps, just perhaps, it was not escaping from your duties that made you guilty, but it was escaping from your brother.
You recollected a memory of returning home from a little escapade, having spent the time climbing trees. This was when you were 7, before you’d even found the cave.
As you arrived back home, you saw your mother attending to Ao'nung, who had a deep cut on his arm, crying loudly. A tiny Tsireya was there too, offering comfort by holding his hand. Apparently, it happened while he was in the water alone. “He said he wasn’t watching where he was going, and knocked into a rock,” your mother explained.
But the fear and confusion in his eyes as he looked up at you told you otherwise.
You never got to find out what truly happened, because you never really cared to ask. You were too obsessed with finding your own free time.
Unbeknownst to you, a dark silhouette creeped by the entrance of your marui. It leered at you comforting your little brother, ears flicking with contempt as it heard your small reassurances.
It's not your fault,
I’m so sorry,
Everything will be fine.
And as soon as the shadow appeared, it was gone.

Lo’ak came back past eclipse with one of your own people who’d found him just within the reef, you were able to hear the relieved sighs of your parents and his own as he approached the island.
You stood behind your father, his hand firmly on the back of Ao’nung’s neck. Lo’ak had a look of pure anger on his face when he looked at your brother, like he wanted to punt him in the face, only to be stopped by his father as he stomped up onto the woven deck.
Jake Sully inspected his son, checking his back for any bruises. “He’s fine, just a few scratches.” he said loudly, so that the crowd of metkayina would disperse quickly.
Neytiri hurried from behind the crowd, quickly checking to see that her son was alright. When she confirmed she wasn’t hurt, she quickly scolded him.
“I pray for the strength that I will not rip the eyeballs out of my youngest son!” she hissed, making a grabbing motion at Lo’ak’s eye, to which Tsireya next to you winced.
“No,” your father said, pushing Ao’nung down to kneel. “My son knows better than to take him outside of the reef. The blame is his.”
Jake nodded hesitantly, deciding he didn’t want to cause any more trouble with the Olo’eyktan. “Okay, let’s go.”
“No.”
“It’s not Ao’nung’s fault,” Lo’ak shook his head, looking up at your father. Ao’nung’s head turned up at this, both you and him (and your mother) were bewildered at this.
“It was my idea. Ao’nung tried to talk me out of it, really.”
Neteyam put a hand on Lo’ak’s arm, silently asking him with his eyes, What are you doing? He only gave his older brother a glance of the eye to respond.
Your mother and father exchanged looks. They always did this, communicating without even needing to speak to each other. Lo’ak was covering for their son, they knew it. But why, was the question.
Your father pulled up Ao’nung, turning to him. “Is this true?” he asked, disbelief laced between his words.
Although you admired your parents for their ability to see through such lies, you were also disappointed they didn’t believe their own son could be responsible for one moment. Your eyes darted towards Neteyam who was walking away with his family, and you quickly excused yourself.
As you approached, however, you heard his parents scolding him. “Where were you?” Neytiri asked. “Yeah, what happened to keep an eye on your brother?” Jake said in english, it seemed he noticed you were coming towards them, but he didn’t know you could understand their conversation.
You gulped, knowing that Neteyam was with you when Lo’ak was led outside the reef. “Sorry sir.” Neteyam muttered. You couldn’t see his face, but you could tell from his tone of voice that he was not happy.
Jake and Neytiri left him, Jake nodding to you before he left as some form of greeting. “Neteyam, how are you feeling?” you asked him softly.
He sighed, turning towards you. There was a glint of something you’d never seen before in his eyes, and you couldn’t quite figure out what it was. But as he narrowed them, it became clear.
He was glaring at you with utter distaste.
“I don’t feel like talking to you right now.” he said, his tone indicating that his anger was threatening to reach boiling, and you were the cause.
Your heart dropped all the way to your stomach as he stalked away, leaving you wondering.
What did I do?

Idk what to say except oh no angst 😨 this part is definitely shorter than the others and idk why, it just seemed that this was enough words to convey the message. i THINK that the next part is the finale, but we’ll just have to see. Also if you’ve been reading this series from the start, you’ll notice that all the chapters have undergone a design transformation cause I just thought it looked better <3

This experience and past ones just have frustrated me bc the solution to these ppl's gripes seems to always be just...block me. I do not do well with indirectness honestly. Did this person really think they were laying a ground breaking revolution on me and my personality? FGHJGHJ Like I was gonna go "You right, I do have an ego, sorry." Like homie, I do not know you and you don't know me??? DFGHJ Thank you though, I feel tbh ppl are so weird toward creators nowadays when they are the ones putting their stuff out there only for unhinged ppl to lurk, contribute nothing, and then be mad. It makes no sense to me. I'm beyond honored to know you guys like what I do bc there are times I still feel a little silly posting, but hearing from you guys makes me feel better and keep doing my thing with peace of mind, yk? As silly as it all is... I DO try to put as much authenticity and care into what I do with Leona in this fandom bc I know that other ppl enjoy the character same as me. I try my best to treat the canon respectfully and add disclaimers w/e needed. I make jokes but my word/HCs are not gospel!! (Unless you want them to be??/jk) But fr I don't wanna claim or ruin anything for anyone. I'm just projecting and playing with my dolls as same as anyone else on here and am just happy to share my thoughts and that we can all brainrot together. ILY TOO!!!

Previous Part
Fear rose in your chest during breakfast. Your dad kept bringing up the tsuraks and every time he mentioned their name, your siblings saw you swallow hard. Tsireya felt bad for you, she was glad that it wasn't asked of her to tame one of them. At least for now, her training as Tsahik is more important and she thanks Eywa for that every day. Ao'nung smirked at your distressed expression but he had some sympathy for you, having seen the injuries other warriors got from Tsurak training. Your mom tried to cheer you up by praising your swimming abilities and mentioning how you successfully tamed your ikran. All that did though, was putting more pressure on you. "Yes, you will see Y/N you will be able to tame it in no time! You already know how to fly and swim. What else is there to do? You will see daughter, the other warriors won't believe their eyes when they see you taming the mighty beast! And I will be there, telling them that I knew it! Ha!" Your dad gave your back a strong smack, making you spill your breakfast as a result. "Oh no, sorry my child! Well, you should pack it anyway, we should get an early start. It will do you good, I can feel it." With that, your dad went to retrieve a small bag so you could pack your food, while your mom prepared another portion, rubbing your back to comfort you in the process. After your food was wrapped, Tonowari all but pushed you out of the door. "A great day indeed!" Looking at your sister one last time, she tried giving you a motivating smile but it came out more as a pained grimace.
On your way to the tsuraks, you ate the rest of your breakfast while halfheartedly listening to your dad's story of how he tamed his tsurak. It was quite an interesting story...just not when hearing it for at least the fifth time. By now you were almost convinced you could retell it word for word.
At your destination, you already saw a handful of warriors in the water, among them was Jake Sully. "What did I tell you? The best warriors start early! There you have it." Your dad practically glowed with anticipation. He jumped off of the path you were standing on into the shallow water and walked towards the Omatikaya man in the deeper water as he greeted him. Toruk Makto greeted him back. "Ah Jake Sully, I believe you already met my daughter Y/N. I heard she had a successful day with your son yesterday. She spoke very highly of him!" Now you were blushing again. Great, just great. You followed your dad, noticing how the sandbanks made this the perfect spot for training. Shallow water that barely reached your knee but was easier to walk in quickly transitioned into deeper water, perfect for the tsuraks.
Jake could barely see your small form hiding behind your dad. But when he did, he saw the purple tint on your cheeks. "Yes, Neteyam mentioned that it went well. How come you are here today?" Jake wondered why you were here since you usually hung out with his children. At that Tonowari gently pushed you in front of him, proudly putting a hand on your shoulder. "Today Y/N will have her first day of learning how to ride a tsurak!" Jake saw Tonowari's proud smile as well as the worry on your face. It was clear to him who was more excited about the idea. "That sounds like fun. No worries kid, you will manage! I mean, you got a head start already riding an ikran and swimming with the ilus." Jake tried his best to sound encouraging, to ease your worries. Tonowari gave another hearty smack to your back. "You see! I told you, now come on, it's time to get started!" Jake got out of your way as your father steered you towards a group of men preparing the tsurak. You gulped and prayed to Eywa that the day will end sooner rather than later. "Ok, now child, do you want to start in the water or the air? Usually, we start in the air since that is the harder part for us but you have an advantage at that, so what would you like?" your dad crouched down to you, a proud smile on his lips, waiting for your answer. You completely disagreed with him about the air part but also felt like starting in the water would end less messy. "I...I think I would like to start in the water." Unsure, you looked between the tsurak and your dad. "The water it is!" And with that, he helped you to get on the tsurak and gave you a leather strip for your hand. "You can use that for practice. It is not required but some prefer it. It helps you tighten your grip while getting used to them. What do you say, with or without?" You would rather get pulled around than thrown off, so you quickly nodded and took the leather strip, securing it around your hand and the handle on the tsurak's saddle. "That's my girl! Always one for the tough way!" your father exclaimed, making you rethink that decision. Well, now or never! The others started backing up as you made the bond. The tsurak lowers into the water and your grip on the handle tightens. You lower yourself closer to the tsurak. The beast becomes restless and as the last few warriors step back, it starts picking up speed. Now fully in the water, you notice that it is actually very similar to the ilus. This isn't bad. This isn't bad at all, you think. You keep getting faster and faster, your grip still strong around the handle. Traveling this fast is new to you but you greatly enjoy it.
Tonowari looks in your general direction. Filled with pride, he explains to Jake: "You see my daughter, she was riding an ilu before anybody else in her age group did. She could barely walk when she one day decided it was time for her to swim with us. She made the bond and swam past all the kids her age. That's how I knew she would do well today!" Jake also looks in your direction. He is impressed by that. He wasn't sure at what age the Metkayina usually start riding the ilus but he saw no child younger than four alone with them.
Just as you think that riding a tsurak isn't as hard as everybody made it out to be, the animal shoots out of the water. The force of the sudden change of motion has you flying out of your seat, your hand rips off of the handle and tsaheylu breaks. The men can only watch as you get thrown off the tsurak, landing in the water with a splash.
Worry rises in Tonowari as he makes his way over to you as fast as he can. You rise out of the water again and take a big breath of air. Your hand throbs and as you look down you see angry red lines forming all over it. Your dad approaches you worried, saying: "Y/n! Y/n, are you alright my child?" He looks at your injured hand. "Oh dear, it's alright. I am here, no worries, it will be fine." He carefully embraces you, patting your head in comfort. Flexing one finger after the other, you notice a slight discomfort but nothing too bad. "Dad?" You look up at your dad, who lets you out of his embrace to look at you attentively. "Can I maybe not use the leather strip anymore?" The concern on your dad's face is replaced with amusement and pride as he rises, a hand on your back, turning you towards the other men who are looking in your direction concerned. "Ha! Certainly! Always facing the challenge!" Everybody relaxes as you walk back towards the group. They call for the tsurak so you can try again. Still a little away from the group, you question your dad: "Do you think I should maybe start in the air and do the transition into the water first? I think I might get that better." Always supportive of you, your dad quietly replies, "If that's what you want, you can do that. You know...you don't have to learn to ride a tsurak in a day." While he was proud of your courage, he didn't want you to get seriously injured or that push yourself too hard. Contemplating your dad's words, you reply: "No, but giving up because I failed once isn't right either. I can do this, dad!" Seeing the determination in your eyes, he gives you a nod affirming you while helping you back onto the tsurak. "When the tsurak dives into the water, you have to react quickly and lean into it to ease into the water. If you don't, the water resistance will throw you off." Nodding at your dad's words, you tightened your grip on the handle once more, this time without the supporting leather strip. "Hey kid, while it's above the surface it's very similar to an ikran. Hold yourself up and focus on the tsurak's movements." Jake gave you an encouraging thumbs up. After a small nod of confirmation, you made the bond and everybody stepped back. The tsurak picked up its speed and went up, lifting out of the water. You held yourself high, just like Neteyam taught you. Gripping the handle tightly, you focused on the tsurak's movement. Everything has worked out well so far. Feeling a change of motion, you quickly leaned into the animal just as it started diving. Now fully submerged, it picked up speed. You felt your grip on the handle getting loose and it glided through your hand before you could even react. You swam up to the surface and went back to your dad. "Good! That was good!" Your dad praised you. You appreciated it but you wanted to go again, now knowing how to do better. You smiled at your dad and got ready.
Back at the beach, Tsireya met up with the Sully children. Neteyam looked around a little confused. "Where is Y/n? I wanted to give her a present!" Tuk asks, looking at Tsireya. Smiling at the small girl, Tsireya answered loudly enough so that Neteyam could hear her as well. "My sister had to go with our father today. He is teaching her how to ride a tsurak." This surprised the Sullys since their father had told them about how difficult it was as well as how many of the warriors got bruised during their training. "Isn't that dangerous?" Kiri was a little concerned for you. "No, don't worry. Y/n is an excellent ilu rider and our father taught many warriors how to ride a tsurak. It's not easy but I am sure she will manage." Tsireya's words calmed the Sully children as she intended but she couldn't help but worry herself. She was confident in your skills but it was your stubbornness that worried her. She was concerned you would push yourself too hard. "Now, how about we swim with the ilus?" Tuk's cheerful "yes!" was all that was needed to get the group moving toward the training area of the reefs. To improve their movements with the ilus, Tsireya decided to swim in shallower water with them. Not to mention that she could keep an eye on you and see how you were doing.
At the training area, Neteyam quickly noticed the tsuraks a little away from the ilus and the group started searching for your familiar face. Lo'ak pointed towards a group of men. "Look, there she is!" The group looked in the direction Lo'ak was pointing at. You were sitting on a tsurak's back, forming tsaheylu as the warriors surrounding the animal were walking away.
After the bond was made, the tsurak picked up speed and fully got out of the water. You crouched down on its back, looking far ahead. As the beast dove into the water, you quickly changed your position, now leaning into its back. Both of you disappear into the water. Not long after, you emerged from the water a little ahead of where you dove in. You swam back to a shallower part of the water. Then you walked back towards your father and a couple of other men, as well as their dad. You seemed deeply concentrated on what the men were telling you, slightly nodding at whatever they were explaining. Neteyam focused back on Tuk when she started playing with the ilus, gleeful noises leaving her. Tsireya told them about their most common mistakes and then told them to practice for a while. After some time, Neteyam started looking after Tuk, who was by now playing with the ilus rather than practicing. Kiri also swam off playing with smaller fish. Tsireya and Lo'ak swam next to each other but were more focused on their conversation than their swimming.
A loud splash followed by a painful yelp got their attention. "Y/N!" Tonowari made his way over to a crouching form. Realizing you got hurt, the group quickly ran in your direction as well.
Your arm was hurting a lot. On your last try, you managed to hold onto the tsurak as it went into the water but got thrown off again when it breached the surface. But this time you didn't land in the deeper water. No, you landed on a sandbank that was barely covered by the water. Sitting up, you saw the water around you turning red from the blood that came from your arm. Your dad reached you. "Are you hurt? Oh no, it's fine. I've got you." Carefully taking your injured arm, he saw a long cut going almost all the way from your wrist to your elbow bend. Tonowari looked up, seeing Tsireya and the other kids coming your way. "Go get your mother." Tsireya nodded and turned around, heading away from the group. Tonowari picked you up and carried you over to one of the paths that were connecting the marui pods above the water. "Is she alright? What happened?" Tuk worried about you questioning her father as Tonowari walked ahead of them. After your dad set you down, Kiri came over wanting to help. "Can I help? I used to tend to our injured in the forest." Appreciating your friend's offer, you showed her your still-bleeding arm. "You should put pressure on it to stop the bleeding, it's a rather nasty cut." She pressed down hard on the wound to stop the bleeding, making you hiss in discomfort. "Sorry. There must have been a sharp stone under the water that cut me when I got thrown off." Your dad was standing next to you, still in the water, trying to comfort you by lightly stroking your back. Jake saw how all of his children cared for your well-being. They all looked worried but only Neteyam looked as if he was in pain himself when you let out the hiss.
Ronal arrived with fast steps, closely followed by Tsireya, both of them carrying various supplies. Kiri made space for your mother, letting go of your arm. "What happened? Who did this?" Your mom demanded answers. Lowering your ears in shame, you answered her quietly. "Nobody, mom...I-I fell." Assessing your wound, your mom tended to it. Jake thought it was better to leave you be for now. "Alright kids, let's go. Let Ronal do her job, come on." They all said their goodbyes and told you to get well soon. Ronal threw angry looks at her mate while tending to your wound. She smears a thick layer of ointment on your arm before wrapping it in the bandages Tsireya hands her. Satisfied with her work, she gave you a once-over to check if you needed any more treatment. Her eyes fall on your other hand, which is covered in angry red and purple lines. She takes another ointment and holds it out to you. "Here, put that on your hand every evening and every morning until the lines are gone." Still not looking at her eyes, you take the ointment from her mumbling "thanks". She lays a finger under your chin, lifting it up to look you in the eyes. She smiles at you before kissing your forehead. "You should rest now. No more physical training for at least a week. Stay out of the water as much as you can. I don't want your wound to reopen." All four of you got up and headed towards your family's marui. Tsireya follows your mom into her room, where she keeps most of her supplies. Your dad couldn't help but notice your sour mood. "What's wrong? Does it still hurt?" Looking up at him, you sigh. "Yes a little but that's not it...It still threw me off. I thought I got it...I thought I could finally do it but no, I still made the same mistakes." Not wanting your unjustified disappointment to harden, he argues: "You did great today. You learned how to ride a tsurak in the air and the water. And you managed to learn the dive. That's a lot for your first day. I told you it takes time. Nobody expected you to master it on your first day. You failed, but you stood back up. You didn't let your failure demotivate you but learned from your mistakes." Your dad's words brought a smile to your lips and while you still weren't happy about it, you couldn't deny your success. Throwing your arms around his middle, you hug him tightly. "Thank you, dad." He patted your head. "Not for that." As your mom came back into the room she ordered you to rest until dinner. Your sister came out after her, heading for the entrance of your marui. You went into your room but heard your parents hushed voices as they argued. "I told you not to be so hard on her!" your mom hissed at your father. "This was an accident! They happen. And you know that riding the tsurak isn't easy. It's not uncommon to get a few bruises, they will heal!" Your mom snarled lowly "It is our duty to protect our children, Tonowari! To make sure that they don't get hurt!" Your dad sighed. "And that's what I'm doing. But they have to make their own decisions and take their own risks. It's part of growing up to fall sometimes. Our duty is to make sure that they stand back up again." Ronal grumbled but knew that Tonowari was right.
Tsireya headed for the Sullys' marui, aware that her friends would most likely want to know how you were doing. "Tsireya!" Little Tuktirey greeted her, pulling her inside the marui by her hand. "Hey, how is Y/n doing? The cut looked bad." Kiri wondered. "The cut will take some time to heal, our mother said she can't take part in any training or much swimming for at least a week." They were all relieved to hear you were more or less ok. "Can we see her? I want to give her the gift, maybe it will make her feel better." Tuk now looked between her dad and Tsireya, wanting both of them to give her their ok. "I am afraid today wouldn't be a good idea. She is resting now and the ointment will make her tired." Jake smiled at his youngest, trying to lift up her spirits he says: "I'm sure you can see her tomorrow". Tsireya stays a little longer talking to Kiri and Lo'ak before heading back to her family's marui before dinner. "I know it didn't go that well but I gotta say, she looked totally badass riding that thing." Lo'ak broke the silence while the family was enjoying their food in the large common area. Jake chuckled at that. "Yeah, she was pretty determined. The tsurak seems pretty stubborn. She got thrown off at least ten times today but she always came back, wanting to go again. Tonowari is very proud of her." Neteyam's brows furrowed in confusion. "I don't get it. She already tamed an ikran. Why does that not count for the Metkayina's trials?" Jake had an idea but wasn't sure if he should share his thoughts since they were only that. "Well, she is the oldest of the chief's children...". That comment surprised Neytiri. "You think Tonowari will make her Olo'eyktan?" Now all his children looked at Jake curious. "Well, I don't *KNOW* that. I'm just saying it's possible. I mean, think about it. Unlike her sister, she is being trained like most warriors of the clan. Letting her travel to another clan without passing the trials is rather uncommon and means that Tonowari and Ronal must have a lot of trust in her." That left all of the Sullys deep in thought. "Hold up now, isn't Tsireya training for Tsahik? And the Tsahik is mated to the Olo'eyktan, so how would either Y/n or Ao'nung become Olo'eyktan? Also, isn't the Olo'eyktan usually a man?" Lo'ak didn't agree with his parents reasoning about how you could become Olo'eyktan. Neytiri answered her youngest son. "No child, it is the most common for the Tsahik and the Olo'eyktan to mate but a close relation like siblings isn't unheard of. It's very rare but not impossible. My father told me about one clan that once had siblings as their clan's leaders. The same goes for the sex of the Olo'eyktan. The Tayrangi people, Y/n's father's clan, have a female Olo'eyktan." Now they were all curious. "We can ask her tomorrow!" Tuk proposed. "Don't" Jake interfered. "If Tonowari didn't name her, it could come across as if you disagreed with his decision." Jake didn't want his children to cause further conflict. "It would be best if you didn't talk about that with her or Ao'nung. Or their parents." Lo'ak didn't miss that his dad left out Tsireya and neither did Kiri. The siblings shared a look, knowing that there was a way to get answers to their questions.
