first off I'm really loving your tommy riley fic! If I'm understanding correctly he's a nothing-character in the canon, but the way you write him is amazing, I care about the character and his journey so much despite (especially?) knowing his ending. The grasp you have on his character is crazy, so just major props for that!! secondly, I was scrolling through your asks and you mentioned a "graves yaoi prophecy". I'm a bit afraid to ask but alas... here I am...
Hello hi hello!!! Thank you so much for this lovely message, Tommy Riley my beloved, he's become very precious to me, as well as his brother. Despite both of them being from call of duty, of all things 😭 He's exclusively from the ghost backstory comics, with an entire 14 panels and about 21 speech bubbles. And YET.
God, graves yaoi prophecy... So happy someone asked about her. Writing this while listening to Ayesha Erotica, it feels apt.
So, a couple months before the game came out, I had a dream that MW3 was promising a confirmed gay couple. Everyone was mauling each other on what it could possibly be (ghoap, rudy/alejandro, nik/price, etc). Except, it turned out it was Graves, who had come back to life, and he was with some random NPC we'd never seen before. He was in some random alpine chalet, and turned to the camera in a cutscene to go: "I am.... Graves'.... Husband." and then he died.
I tell my beloved CoD mutuals about this. We find it hilarious, and it becomes an inside joke.
A month later, Graves is confirmed to have survived MW2 (not in the tank all along... copout!!)(Regardless, happy to see him scurrying around the underbrush for grubs and chemical weapons). Amazing, good for him. MW3 comes out, and it's a massive disappointment, as we all know.
During all this, me and some other CoD mutuals are joking about Graves and his alpine chalet husband of indeterminate scandinavian origin and immense skiing prowess, and O+ blood type (don't ask. lots of 'yes and'-ing, and emparting personal traits onto the character)(some more real than others). The husband is often referred to as Alpine, jokingly. The ship name is Gralpine. Love wins.
And then the MW3 multiplayer campaign comes out, alongside new operator. And. And who is one of the characters?

You can imagine my surprise. Norweigian no less. Skiis in the back. Chalet in the horizon. Graves is there. Konig isn't.
(user bleeped out for personal privacy)
Alpine of course was revealed to be ms Gytha Stromme - but that brief window of time where me and the CoD mutuals thought she was a dude, and i was momentarily the worst yaoi prophet of all time, was a high i'll never experience again
#philip graves#alpine mw3#call of duty#ask#graves mw2#call of duty modern warfare#cod mw3#This is so long oopsies. it needed context lmao#it was such a funny coincidence to me. i hope it is to people reading this 😭#codposting

Everything's Interconnected AU Timeline Part 1: Kingdomcraft / Empires
Timeline masterpost :D
Pre-Kingdomcraft
This is exactly what it sounds like. The story of Everything's Interconnected AU begins a few years before the events of Kingdomcraft, while there is some god stuff which happened even further in the past it is not directly covered. Before the events of Kingdomcraft, the main event that happens is the murder of the princess of the Ocean, the subsequent disappearance of the Ocean Kingdom and the coronation of the 11 remaining princes and princesses.
Kingdomcraft
Follows the story Kingdom craft with a few differences, these differences come mainly in the form of the ending. In Everything's Interconnected AU the league of Villains is dismantled and all the rulers rally together to put an end to the Queen of the Alpine's leadership, this is unfortunately after the town had been blown up.
Terrain Changes / the time between
A couple thousand years go by, cultures changing and moving. In this time the Kingdoms fall and the empires of Empires S1 form.
Empires S1
The emperors come into power and the story of Empires S1 happen. Everything is the same up to the Rapture. All of the emperors die some way or another, how these deaths come about will be covered in their individual character backstories. What happens to them after their deaths will be covered further in the points of connection post (coming soon).
New Combination Empire
The people from the original empires travel across the world to find a habitable area after the Rapture. They end up traveling to the area which will become Empires S2 and creating an expansive capital and other infrastructure.
New Empire Falls
Some amount of time later this Empire falls. This process is a slow leave and disintegration rather than a quick event. The ruins of this Empire becomes the 'Ancient Capital' of Empires S2.
Empires S2
The events of Empires S2 are practically the same as the what happens in the series with the addition of headcanons. Pix from Empires S1 is the archaeologist working on the Ancient Capital. Pearl of Gilded Helithia is now Saint Pearl, is patron saint of the harvest, war and conquest. The kingdom the people from sanctuary come from formed in the ruins of Mythland / Gilded Helinthia / The Cod Empire, this kingdom is still in exitance for the whole of Empires S2. Empires S2 and Hermitcraft are now connected via the rift and because of people like Oli, Pearl, Mythical and Pix it is also connected to Afterlife.
Witchcraft
Shelby from Empires S2 goes and competes in the challenge. How long after Empires S2 takes place witchcraft happens is so far undecided but it wouldn't be longer than 5 years. Witch Scott and Joey are different people from their Empires S2 counterparts. After becoming a fully fledged storm witch, Shelby goes back to Evermore and continues to live there while remaining in contact with her witch friends.
The Time after
This part of the time line is very un-fleshed out. This is where most of the stories happen. All of the emperors have a way to travel to Afterlife and a few of them can freely go to Hermitcraft. The witches can also get to Afterlife but not Hermitcraft.
Further explanations: (coming soon)
Part 2: X-life / Afterlife, Part 3: Hermitcraft S8 & 9, Part 4: Newlife, Part 5: Points of connection
If you want more details on something or are just curious about the AU send me an ask :D

Fish of the March of Maedhros
Flora, fauna, geography and environment masterlist
Two prominent rivers run in the March of Maedhros. Southeast of the Hill of Himring in the foothills of the March is the river Celon, a tributary to the river Aros which itself is a tributary to Sirion. Upon the hill of Himring is a spring from which flows little Gelion, the stream that meets Gelion to form one of the seven rivers of Ossiriand.
A variety of freshwater fish can be found in these rivers. I also headcanon there is at least one lake where fish are found and sometimes caught.
Note: due to differences in proximity to the sea, temperature, and unknown factors, such as speed of water, even more than my other animal posts. A lot of these are going to be approximations on real species and their morphology and behavior rather than exact replicas so just keep that in mind. I also headcanon that the March is a strange place.
As I will, as always, I will include some world building notes at the bottom!
Found in the upper reaches of Celon: (a species similar to) giant Siberian trout, freshwater cod, freshwater lamprey (river and brook), white eyed bream, common barbel
Found in little Gelion: rainbow trout, common bream (in slower stretches), common bleak, riffle minnow (slow stretches), common minnow
Both: freshwater eels, Cottus koshewnikowi, asp, freshwater sculpin, alpine bullhead, silver carp
Found in lakes: Arctic char, dwarf sculpin, Abyssocottus elochini, red sculpin, Omul, Coregonus maraena, ide, other minnow species
The lakes, ponds and deeper rivers of the March also contain stranger creatures including iridescent eels, creatures between fish and something else, shadowed giants never seen in their full size and more
World building notes:
-Fish are eaten in the March, both fresh and salted. Indeed dried or salted fish is rare in other elven realms (however both dwarven and human cultures have it more frequently). Roe is also eaten
-Fresh fish are usually served at Himring and in the smaller outposts throughout the March. Scouts often take dried fish in their satchels but rarely catch them as they are highly trained to be inconspicuous and avoid fires to cook
-Fishing in the March is done throughout the year however it can be extremely dangerous during the winter. There are those among Maedhros’s host who particularly enjoy the risk and return yearly to the icy waters.
-Fish are primarily seasoned with salt and with local herbs such as garlic chives, lovage,Rarer dishes might involves dried bay leaves from Nevrast or thyme, primarily from Ossiriand and Dorthonion, pepper from the Ered Luin, and imported wines, also from Ossiriand, Nevrast, and Thargelion
-Trout appear in Avarin lore as guides and are not eaten by them.
-Some of the strange creatures including fish that are native to the March later appear in sigils, heraldry, and art created by the host of Maedhros

Canon religion!! I actually went into depth on this one with my friend once! Good to know I can put my memory to use there.
The Mafia had what was essentially a lot like catholicism. Except instead of saints, it was previous Mafia Bosses. They would confess sins to the current boss, though their idea of "sins" was absolutely weird.
The owls mostly had science. No major religions for us, mostly just us left to our own devices. The best way to describe it is that it is what it is. No need to dwell on how we got here, let's do what we can with the time we have.
The moon penguins had a very interesting one too-- They believed that when someone died, they became a star. The constellations were very important, and the idea of a "lucky star" was common, like having a lucky number.
As for Alpine, the nomads were very spiritual instead of religious. There was a belief in "the ancients" and how everything in nature had its own spirit. The Twilight Bell was a sort of temple too!
No one really had a true "god" of any kind, so instead of saying "oh my god," it differed per area. Most folks said "oh my cod" but some cats said "oh my paw" instead, while moon penguins said "oh my stars" and Alpine said "oh spirits."
That's what I've got! There's a bit more to say about Subcon and Nyakuza, but I avoided those places as much as possible, so my memories of them aren't the clearest.

Private Speiserestaurants in Saanen: Exklusivität trifft Eleganz
Restaurants in Gstaad: Ein kulinarischer Spielplatz
Private Speiserestaurants in Saanen.

From the majestic Rocky Mountains to the serene coastlines of the Pacific and Atlantic, this tour takes you through some of the most awe-inspiring scenery that North America has to offer.
Begin your journey in the Rocky Mountains, a spine of rugged peaks that stretches from Canada to the southwestern United States. Whether you’re exploring the alpine beauty of Banff and Jasper in Canada or the stunning vistas of Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park, the Rockies offer a playground for outdoor enthusiasts. Hiking, skiing, and wildlife watching are just a few activities that let you connect with nature in these towering landscapes. The crisp mountain air and panoramic views are enough to refresh your soul and invigorate your sense of adventure.
Moving westward, the Pacific Coast offers a dramatic shift in scenery. Here, the rugged coastlines of California, Oregon, and Washington State showcase the untamed beauty of the ocean meeting the land. Drive along the Pacific Coast Highway to experience iconic spots like Big Sur, where cliffs plunge into the ocean, and the ancient Redwood forests that tower overhead. On the opposite coast, the Appalachian Mountains and the Atlantic shoreline provide a contrasting yet equally captivating experience. The Blue Ridge Parkway winds through the Appalachian Highlands, offering scenic vistas, hiking trails, and the chance to explore charming mountain towns. Meanwhile, the coastal areas of New England, from the rocky shores of Maine to the sandy beaches of Cape Cod, offer a different kind of natural beauty. The changing seasons bring vibrant autumn foliage, crisp winter landscapes, and blossoming spring flowers, each adding its own charm to the region.
No tour of North America’s natural wonders would be complete without a visit to the Great Lakes region, where freshwater seas create a landscape unlike any other.
