Hi, regarding this post: https://www.tumblr.com/demilypyro/774691257489489921?source=share I would not recommend either of these components you've selected!
the NH-D15 is starting to show its age. It remains super expensive, while not having the performance to match that nowadays. The Peerless Assassin is about a third of the price, for better performance. Peerless Assassin review: https://youtu.be/Mm4hyIHe1PM?si=4ItRLhuJO_wE5Dbr
The CPU you've chosen is also super old and not good value. It used to be great, but nowadays for gaming and even rendering, it can be beaten by the far cheaper Ryzen 7 5700X3D (Still AM4, assuming that's the motherboard socket you're using now, and don't want to buy a whole new motherboard and potentially RAM.) I can't even find any reviews comparing the two CPUs, because they're so far apart from one another.
I would strongly recommend you reconsider before purchasing, or return these items if you can.
I have found the one thing that's more annoying than backseat gamers, and it is backseat PC builders. Explode

Do AMD Ryzen 7 8700G and Ryzen 5 8600G processors have enough power in gaming to make you forget about the video card?
We adore PCs outfitted with the latest and most high-performance components, running games at the highest possible FPS in 4K resolution. However, what do you do when your gaming budget doesn’t stretch beyond the price of a second-hand flagship phone? AMD addresses this question and caters to budget-conscious gamers and casual players by introducing the 8000G Series. This series could serve as a…

Intel’s Next-Gen Core i9-14900K 6 GHz CPU Benchmarked
Tumblr media
The most recent benchmarks of Intel’s next-generation have been discovered, and they demonstrate a significant improvement in performance in comparison to the 13900K.
The performance of the Intel Core i9-14900K CPU in the leaked CPU-z benchmark is shown to be up to 9% faster than that of the Core i9-13900K CPU.
Within the 14th Generation stack, the Intel Core i9-14900K Desktop CPU is going to be the chip with the highest clock speed. It will have similar specifications to the existing Core i9-13900K, but it will be tuned for higher clocks and power limits. This will allow for a performance boost that is well within the expected range of any refreshed chip, which is essentially what the 14th Generation Raptor Lake Refresh family is at the end of the day.
To begin with the specifications, the Intel Core i9-14900K CPU will have a configuration of 8+16 cores, which results in a total of 32 threads. The central processing unit (CPU) will have a basic TDP of 125W (253W PL2) and up to 36 MB of Smart Cache. Clock speeds of 3.2 GHz at base and up to 6.0 GHz with a Thermal Velocity Boost are going to be among its defining characteristics.
Next-Gen Core i9-14900K 6 GHz CPU:
In comparison to the Core i9-13900K, this will result in a frequency increase of +200 MHz, while remaining identical to the Core i9-13900KS. Although the central processing unit (CPU) was recently seen in retail at pricing of $695 US, which is a +15.8% jump over its predecessor, we shouldn’t consider this to be the “Final” retail price just yet.
The Intel Core i9-14900K Desktop CPU benchmarks were provided by @wxnod. These benchmarks demonstrate that the chip is functioning at 6 GHz out of the box, which is the same clock rates as the Core i9-13900KS. The chip is labeled as a “Engineering Sample,” which means that the final performance may differ somewhat but should still be quite consistent.
The central processing unit achieved a score of 978 in the single-core test and 18,117.5 in the multi-core test, putting it in first place among all desktop CPUs that have been made available to this point. When it finally reaches store shelves, this chip will undoubtedly be the one with the fastest single-core and multi-core performance, but the price tag for all of this capability will be very steep.
It is possible that the Intel Core i9-14900K Desktop CPU will end up being the fastest chip available; however, it will also be incredibly power demanding and a very difficult chip to control in terms of temperature. The Core i9-13900K and the Core i9-13900KS are two of the most power-hungry CPUs available. Under full load, these processors may reach temperatures of up to 100 degrees Celsius and use anywhere from 250 to 300 watts of electricity.
If you choose Intel as your processor manufacturer, you will be need to make some of these concessions due to the fact that the AMD camp provides superior performance in addition to more cost-effective operations. The comparison of the X3D components with regard to gaming is going to be the most intriguing one since it is absolutely going to be something that Intel will sell the advantages of the single-core boost for. In any case, the Core i9-14900K along with the other two “Unlocked” SKUs are going to be unveiled during the Innovation event that will take place later on this month.

fun tumblr fact: open new text post editor. hit some keys. now press ctrl-z. HAHAAH, get it, "undo"? this isn't photoshop moron, did you want us to keep track of every individual keystroke and then undo them one-at-a-time? you have a whole key that does that and it's even a wide one. not only is it all gone in the editor, it is (incredibly strangely) also completely gone in memory. Post? every reference is mapped, then deleted, then the root graph node is deleted, then page content cache is cleared, then like seven or eight layers of browser caches are cleared, and now javascript running meaningless memory benchmark routines are executed in full blast parallel to blow away the feint hope that one or two whole sentences worth of bytes have survived in your CPU L1/L2/L3 cache in case your ass was going to attempt a liquid helium cold-boot. its like yoda said. "there is only do and un-do" (star wars 1987 dir. george lucas)

took me 8 hrs to upgrade my pc. it was my first time replacing a CPU.
i had to
buy supplies
pick up the parts
learn how to remove the old parts
carefully remove them
clean the old parts
very carefully install the new CPU
learn how to use thermal paste
decipher the cooler's manual
figure out what a backplate is
install the heat sink
move some parts around to make the new fan fit
close the pc up
hook the pc up to the setup and test performance
notice it aint working right
have a lunch break
figure out moving the GPU to a different slot hurt performance
go back in and modify the heat sink a bit so the GPU could fit back in the original slot
move the wireless adapter a bit for that
hook the pc back up
then finally got it all working right and ran the benchmark again
it was supposed to be my day off, but i ended up basically working a whole day anyway.... so tired....
