Consider:
Should Omega find himself in such a scenario where he can destroy Eggman, though the only method of doing so involves his own destruction, does he hesitate at all? He has his own self-perception as the Strongest Robot; does victory at the cost of his existence fit that image he has? Is he truly the Strongest if he doesn't outlast his shitty Dad?
Don't get me wrong, the question isn't whether he'd go through with it. I know he would, just wonder if there's a momentary hiccup in his CPU due to his ultimate objective clashing with how he sees himself.
If you asked Omega if he'd sacrifice himself to kill Eggman, he's answer "yes" without hesitation.
Now, if you actually put him into a situation where that was the case, I don't think he'd go through with it.
Omega is a robot who Lies, and he is a robot with one hell of an ego. He'll say damn near anything to keep up the reputation he's established for himself. In this case, that's the reputation for being ruthless, tough as nails, and persistent beyond the capability of an organic organism.
Another thing to consider is the fact that Eggman has gotten away from him at least a dozen times at this point. Either through Eggman's own ingenuity and survival instinct, or through the intervention of Sonic and related friends, Omega's never managed to get the killing shot off yet. Although he'd kill you if you referred to such instances as "failures", he's no stranger to setbacks. He might get impatient about it, sure, but he knows that as long as he stays online he can always try again.
He does have a problem with charging into bad situations to try and get the perfect shot, but I don't think he ever goes into a fight with the assumption that he's not going to come out alive. He does an initial assessment, charges in when things look winnable, but often times forgets to reevaluate when more enemies arrive or variables change. You could say that he gets carried away by his passion and that gets him in trouble. But he never picks a fight that he knows he can't win. He wouldn't be the Ultimate Robot if he did.
Moreover, I think you're right about that self-perception part. I don't think Omega would consider it a victory if Eggman's death came at the price of his own (or at the price of his friends', but shhhh, don't tell anyone that!). He's better than that. Of course he can destroy Eggman without such a major cost, he's the Ultimate Robot!
So if you put him in a split-second decision of whether or not to self-destruct to destroy Eggman, I think that he'd hesitate, and hesitate long enough to miss the opportunity entirely.
(Oh, and he'll be pissed at himself for this, of course.)
#e-123 omega#e123 omega#about that last point- Omega's quite fond of living but he can't forgive any perceived dereliction of his function.#that tends to be a complex that every Badnik has engrained in their processors. nature plus nurture and all that#and whoops I've made yet another comparison to Metal look at that#Bruce I love you. thank you for picking my brain about this character. I will always have boatloads of shit to say about him

Look up Baldurs Gate 3 specs just as an example for new laptop specs research since it's a very popular game and I imagine based on the graphics it's a little bit more graphics dependant
Only for a website to say it's "not too demanding for graphics compared to other games"
The recommended graphics rtz or whatever thingy said like 2060...
No I am not a computer or laptop wizard by any means, but my current laptop I'm sure is less than that... or uses a different thing/brand/measurement??
#idk y'all#it sounded crazy to me#probably a processor would be a better comparison but i can't remember it off the top of my head#my current processor though is 2.7 btw

Understanding CAD Computer Requirements: Essential Guide for Optimal Performance
If you’re diving into the world of Computer-Aided Design (CAD), ensuring that your system is properly equipped to handle the demands of software like AutoCAD is crucial. Whether you are an architect, engineer, or designer, having the right hardware and software configuration will not only improve your workflow but also guarantee smoother performance and better results. In this blog, we’ll walk through the key computer requirements for running AutoCAD and other CAD software smoothly.
Why Understanding CAD Computer Requirements Matters
Running CAD software efficiently requires more than just having a standard computer. CAD applications, especially AutoCAD, are resource-intensive and demand high computing power. Without a suitable setup, you might experience lagging, crashes, or long rendering times that could affect productivity. Understanding these requirements ensures that your system is up to the task and can handle the software’s robust functionalities without compromising performance.
Key CAD Computer Requirements for Optimal Performance
1. Processor (CPU): The Brain of Your CAD System
The processor is the heart of your CAD system. CAD software requires a multi-core processor to handle complex calculations and data. AutoCAD, for example, performs better on processors that can handle multiple tasks at once.
Recommended: A multi-core processor, ideally with 4 or more cores, such as Intel i7/i9 or AMD Ryzen 7/9.
Minimum: Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 (6th generation or newer).
Choosing a higher-end processor will significantly enhance your CAD experience, especially when working with complex designs or large files.
2. Graphics Card (GPU): Visuals and Rendering Performance
The graphics card is crucial for rendering 3D models and visualizing designs in AutoCAD. A powerful GPU will ensure smooth navigation, rendering, and model manipulation in both 2D and 3D spaces.
Recommended: NVIDIA GeForce RTX Quadro series or AMD Radeon Pro series.
Minimum: NVIDIA GeForce GTX or AMD Radeon RX series.
For demanding 3D modeling tasks, consider upgrading to a workstation-grade GPU like the NVIDIA Quadro series, which is optimized for professional CAD workflows.
3. Memory (RAM): Smooth Multitasking
When working with large files or running multiple applications, ample RAM is necessary to avoid system slowdowns or crashes. CAD software requires significant memory to store large drawings, 3D models, and complex calculations.
Recommended: 16GB or more of RAM.
Minimum: 8GB of RAM.
For more intensive CAD tasks or multitasking (like running AutoCAD with other software), investing in 32GB or more of RAM is ideal.
4. Storage: Quick Access to Large Files
CAD designs often involve large files that need fast access and ample storage space. A slow hard drive can create bottlenecks when loading files or saving work, hindering your productivity. Opting for an SSD (Solid-State Drive) will significantly improve file loading times and overall system responsiveness.
Recommended: 512GB or higher SSD for storage.
Minimum: 256GB SSD or a 1TB HDD (though SSD is always recommended).
For the best performance, SSDs should be used for the operating system and primary software installation, while larger HDDs can be used for archival purposes.
5. Display: Crisp and Accurate Visualization
A high-resolution display is essential for accurately visualizing detailed designs and models. AutoCAD users often work with intricate 2D and 3D elements, making a large, high-resolution monitor an essential component of the setup.
Recommended: A 24” or larger screen with 1920x1080 resolution (Full HD) or higher, ideally with IPS technology for better color accuracy.
Minimum: 21” screen with 1920x1080 resolution.
For better productivity, you may even consider a dual monitor setup to increase workspace and improve multitasking efficiency.
6. Operating System: AutoCAD Compatibility
The operating system you use can impact the compatibility and performance of your CAD software. AutoCAD supports both Windows and macOS, but Windows remains the dominant platform for CAD applications due to better driver support and compatibility.
Recommended: Windows 10 64-bit (or newer), or macOS Mojave 10.14 or later.
Minimum: Windows 8.1 (64-bit) or macOS High Sierra 10.13 or later.
For those using Windows, make sure to keep your OS updated to take advantage of the latest performance and security enhancements.
7. Internet Connection: Cloud Integration and Updates
While not a direct hardware requirement, a reliable internet connection is important for downloading software updates, using cloud-based storage, and collaborating on projects. AutoCAD’s cloud integration features, such as AutoCAD Web and AutoCAD Mobile, rely on internet connectivity for seamless operation.
Recommended: Stable broadband connection with speeds of at least 10 Mbps.
Minimum: Basic internet connection for updates and cloud features.
Additional Tips for Optimizing Your CAD System
Ensure Regular Software Updates: Keeping your AutoCAD software and drivers up to date ensures compatibility and optimizes performance.
Consider External Storage for Backup: Large CAD files can quickly fill up your system’s storage, so having an external drive or cloud storage option for backup and archiving is a good idea.
Use CAD-Specific Peripherals: A high-quality mouse and keyboard designed for CAD work can enhance precision and reduce strain during long working hours.
Conclusion
Setting up a system to run AutoCAD and other CAD software efficiently isn’t just about meeting the bare minimum requirements — it’s about ensuring that your system can handle complex design tasks without compromising on speed or performance. By investing in a high-performance processor, powerful graphics card, sufficient RAM, and an SSD for fast storage, you’ll experience smoother, more efficient CAD workflows.

Is Intel's New CPU Better Than AMD's New CPU? Let's Break It Down
When it comes to choosing the best CPU for your needs, the rivalry between Intel and AMD is always a topic of debate. Both brands have released some incredible processors recently, but which one is truly better? Is Intel's new CPU really that much better than AMD's new CPU? Well, the answer isn't as clear-cut as you might think.
Intel's latest processors, like the Intel Core i7 and Intel Core i9 from their 13th generation, have brought significant performance improvements. They boast faster clock speeds, enhanced multi-core capabilities, and better single-threaded performance, making them a great choice for gaming and multitasking. But is that enough to outdo AMD’s latest offerings, like the AMD Ryzen 7000 series?
AMD’s processors are no slouches either. With impressive multi-threaded performance, better power efficiency, and a more affordable price tag, AMD has been dominating in certain segments, especially for users looking for solid performance on a budget.
So, which one is better? It really depends on what you're looking for. If you need maximum single-threaded performance for tasks like gaming or software that demands high clock speeds, Intel might be the better option. to Hear, to Feel, to Know
Inspired by @muletia’s Obsessed Optimus fanfics—they just so so so so good!! The yearning, the ill-buried desire, Optimus chaining himself in place like some dog with a biting problem when all he wants to do is love you???? OUAGH so so good!!
Asdfghjkl I wanna try my own hand at a fic looking at Optimus’s tendency towards obsession in love, but for now, I’ve been thinking about Optimus as a bot who tends to listen….
Pairing: Optimus Prime x Reader
Warnings: n/a
Summary: Optimus is a bot who's exceptionally good at listening. What he likes listening to most of all though, is you.
Masterlist | Transformers Masterlist
Word count: 1,106
───♡-♥-♡-♥-♡-♥-♡───
There was no denying that Optimus had a keen eye, and an even keener attention. His ability to promptly decipher texts based on key words or phrases allowing him to understand the greater picture from his days as an archivist served to train him well in noticing patterns of behaviour if he focused his attention on it. The ongoing war certainly helped as well, forcing him to zero in on what would allow them to survive. Forcefully training his eye to fall to keep points in any battle field.
And yet as trained as his eyes were, Optimus was always keen to listen.
Or perhaps absorbing was a better comparison. How despite being a leader, despite giving commands, Optimus was almost always better suited to listening to the people around him. The information that they shared, the feelings they expressed. Ratchet always used to say he would make for a much kinder medic than he if he took a role in that field. Perhaps it could have served him even better as a leader, but there was little he could change through the tides of time.
It’s why he clings to these things, saving them in the event that one day they may save him. From another attack or another encounter with Megatron, to even a stretch of boredom or loneliness.
It is why he clings to your every word.
Why he loves it when you sit atop his shoulder. So close to his helm, it is as if you’re speaking directly into his processor, filling his thoughts with your words—your delights, your frustrations, your sorrows, your needs. A direct feed like some constant supply of energon into his lines.
Both, he supposed would make his spark stutter a bit.
Ah, just thinking about it brings to mind the many times you’ve pressed yourself against his audial, leaning against his helm or purposely cupping his audials as you whispered sweet words his way, words for him and him alone, a gift sweeter than any energon could ever be.
You didn’t even have to be saying something sweet. Scathing secrets and vicious critiques against some other’s back from the mistreatment you received in the hands of a cruel stranger or an even crueler co-worker, or even some coy remark against a teammate, the fact that you chose to whisper your words to him—to confide your secrets and burning emotions to his audials.
Even being chosen as a Prime was a lesser honour than this.
But perhaps the thing he enjoys listening to most, though your every word delights him and your laughter makes his spark feel so light it might burst from his chest, the sound Optimus likes best it’s the soft thud of your heartbeat and the whisper of your breath.
He recalls when he first heard the sound, mass displaced at your request as you showed to him your beating heart after he showed you his whirring spark.
There is meaning to the action, to show one’s spark to the other, but Optimus felt he need not explain it to you, knowing full well you wouldn’t be able to return the gesture.
And yet somehow you did.
Even if you could not pull back the viscera from your chest the way he did the plates of his chassis, you brought his helm to your chest, pressed his audial against you, and implored him to listen.
And he did.
In the caverns of your chest, Optimus heard as air filled your lungs, swelling with every breath you took, and for a moment he mistook that steady beat for an abnormal twitch, until you began to explain.
“That’s my heart.” You had told him. “The ‘thud-thud, thud-thud, thud-thud’.”
And pressing just a bit harder, Optimus stilled his fans to listen to the faint beat.
And he heard it.
Loud against his audial the drum of your heart pounded against your chest like an insistent knock, or the demands of a captive begging to be freed.
Though perhaps that’s just wistful thinking.
He hears it in his full form sometimes, when you lean your back against his helm or when you cling to his audial in a moment of fear or excitement. A gentle faint rhythm, that sings that you’re alive.
He wishes some days that it would accompany him in his berth, as he lies under the midnight silence hounded by the whispers and wails of the dead of the living he must fight, of the humans he’d never know. They all rattle and sob frying his processor as he starves himself of a proper recharge, but then, some days he hears something this in the base. Perhaps it’s his own movement, perhaps something falls—once even it was the rumble and stroke of thunder and lightning overhead. All the same, it brings to his mind the thump of your heartbeat, and like a spring being unwound, he replays your words in his head. Every praise, every sweet word, every secret you’d give him. Your smile your laughter, your delight and glee he’d play them all over and over in his processor, lingering on the compliments you’d direct his way, every smile you’d make when your eyes met his.
All with the background theme of your heart singing its little song of life, your every breath an instrument to the symphony.
You were here, you were alive, you were with him.
Ah, but sometimes those moments stung worse than the wailing dead.
You were not here with him now, and all he had was the echo of your heartbeat. If he could hum its melody he would, but the sound doesn't comply with his voice box. Still he taps it out with a digit sometimes or a pede even, a little reminder of a precious tune.
He hasn’t had the chance to listen to your heart again. To mass displace and press his head against your chest, to listen to that sound, and maybe listen to you speak as he follows the gentle beat. He hopes one day he might get the chance. He hopes one day to tell you what it means when one shows the other their spark.
One day, he dreams, he’d tell you what it meant, and you’d smile, perhaps in rapt delight, perhaps shyly, but you’d open your arms to him and allow him to listen once more, let him listen as he lets you watch his glowing spark.
Until then, he basks in what he can get, faint as it is against his full form, listening to the soft beat of your heart, feeling you warm and pressed against him, resting assured in the knowledge that you were here, you were alive.

whats the difference between an i7 and an ultra 7? is an ultra 7 always better than an i7/are there any drawbacks to an ultra 7?
i’m looking for a new laptop, primarily for school but just as a general personal computer. most of the comparisons ive seen talk primarily/exclusively about desktop builds and is really heavy handed on the ai capabilities which i dont care about, but ive also seen mentions of better performance with video editing and 3D modeling (which will probably come up within my degree) along with better performance in gaming which is a hobby of mine.
figured id ask here as your 2024 computer buying guide has been extremely helpful so far (i only know a bit more than average about computers so this whole thing has just been making my head hurt)
Intel is deeply annoying and rebranded their model line so now it's the Core Ultra series; basically as of right now Core Ultra is the equivalent of a 15th-gen i7, it's their newest release in that class. I need to update the guide to reflect that and also need to figure out whatever the naming/numbering scheme is, and also add some AMD processors because I'm becoming familiar enough with the Ryzen line to make recommendations.

Psychic Patch anon here! So glad you enjoyed that idea <3 love putting Op in situations
But as a bonus I could see that debacle being a good entry point into the obsessed megop back-and-forth. Might as well make use of what little info they did get out of Optimus's processor, 1: That you're extremely important to him and 2: Your address.
Thus begins the weekly kidnappings because you're one hell of a useful hostage, but also because Megatron has some curiosities of his own. How could you, a human, possibly be so alluring as to have a Prime at your beck and call? It makes the growth of his own infatuation a bit terrifying, he saw with his own optics what you did to Optimus's mind and can feel himself slipping down that path.
It also factors into his desire to have you as his queen, his second in command. He has some twisted respect for your "powers". After all you must be incredibly cunning and ruthless to claw your way so deeply into his spark even while he was aware of your tricks. (Little does he know there are no tricks, you're just catnip to powerful enough Cybertonians)
Our minds were totally on the same wavelength because I thought of the exact same thing! Thanks for sharing this idea <3
It’s not so easy to impress Megatron, and he doesn’t hand out his respect to just anyone. Even less so can I imagine him respecting some pathetic, miserable human... unless that human somehow managed to charm their way into and settle firmly within the very spark of Optimus Prime.
He wants to see how you pulled it off. To conduct research on a species that, until now, mattered to him as much as an empty energon container, and to use the knowledge he gains for his nefarious™ purposes. But also to talk, this time to peer into your primitive mind and extract the information he needs. To get to know you from the inside, but not destroy you — because you’re far too valuable.
I think he’d spend long sessions just staring at you while you sit on his lap. Studying your reflexes, waiting for you to uncover the true potential of your abilities, and verbally prying information out of you.
Megatron is convinced that your relationship will only ever be a one-sided transaction. He’ll squeeze everything he wants out of you and then eliminate you once he grows bored. But then you get “rescued” by the Autobots. And that’s when the real game begins — the back-and-forth of both factions fighting over you. Giving obsession time to spread through every inch of Megatron’s being.
Over time, he realizes he’s not taking you back to study your tricks. He’s taking you back for you.
Is he furious that he let himself be beguiled by a human? Probably. But the fury that burns within when he sees you in Optimus’ servos is far, far greater and hazardous...
jdbd the comparison to catnip is so spot on — not just because it’s ha ha funny, but also because of how easily you intoxicate the bots you spend time with and how dangerously quickly they become addicted to you <3

Androids and Electric Sheep
Ren is experiencing an unusual bug. Features F resus, M rescuer, CPR, stething, mouth to mouth, internal defibs, sex leading to cardiac arrest, sex acts both with consent and a person who cannot consent. I got too invested in the preamble so I highlighted the moment resus actually starts if you want to skip it.
No matter how advanced technology gets, it’ll only ever be used to fulfill man’s most base desires. Case in point- RN-34678. Or Ren, when the barcodes make my eyes glaze over and I get sick of calling them the number slurry X Tech names absolutely everything. Ren is as sophisticated as they come. Actual artificial intelligence. She makes the predictive text and ‘can’t even draw fingers’ image generating 21st century jokes people passed off as AI look like even more of a waste of time than they had been in those days. They might as well have been Speak n Spells. The collective power of every single basement dwelling crypto whizz kid with miles of wires and burnt up processors and bricked up video cards dedicated to their etherium farms pale in comparison to the computing power it takes to run Ren’s brain for an hour. She understands nearly 6,000 languages. She learns and retains information, consuming nearly 160 TB of memory every 8 hours. The bio-organic lace that makes up the net of her brain is a miracle, with the possibility of infinite memory. She is perfect in every sense of the word.
She is a glorified fuck toy.
The second the first android became commercially available, one of the first markets they hit was sex work. If nothing about late stage capitalism drove you crazy, that would have. Fuck curing cancer, or making androids for the dangerous, back breaking work people wreck their bodies to do, X Tech decided people needed a sex doll with a 100k price tag. The world’s most expensive cum sock. And yeah, alright, maybe I’m just bitter, partially because there’s no way in hell I could ever afford one, even as an android technician. But what a waste. She sits on my examination table, dutifully unzipping her black leather catsuit. Her managers always manage to stick her in something stupid looking, so overblown and sexualized they stop even being sexy at a certain point.
She looks up at me with lilac eyes. Last time they’d been blue. I like this shade better, I think, though I could do without the electric blue bob they have her wearing today. ”Your crash reports say you’ve been throwing error codes whenever a stream donation comes in over 2k,” I say. Which, for a bot like Ren, is quite a lot of her donations. “It’s probably just a bug in payment processing.” I look again over her diagnostics, floating on the screen at my desk. “Any complaints I wouldn’t find in the debug menu?”
”My heart has been feeling strange,” she says. I pause and look at her over the top of my glasses. “Well, firstly, it’s not your heart. An aether pump does not a heart make. Secondly, it shouldn’t feel like anything. You’re supposed to ignore the inner workings, it’s all background programs, runs without you thinking about it.” She shrugs. Her shoulders are pale as she rolls down the catsuit and pulls her arms from the sleeves, bunching up the tight leather around her midriff. Her breasts are small and round, standing upright as pretty as a Botticelli painting. I’d noticed the small bumps on either side of her nipples (Christ, did the things ever go soft? Or were they just always cutting glass?) but didn’t register until I saw them now that her managers had pierced them sometime since our last checkup. Little silver bars were stuck through the pink nubs, with winking silver balls on either end. Alright, cool, chill.
I clear my throat and pull up my rolling stool. “Well, let’s just take a look then.” I shift once I’m seated to alleviate the pressure of my stiffening cock. Listen, I’m not a technophile, honest to God. I go out of my way to filter out androids when I’m scrolling through porn sites because, despite the leaps and bounds we’ve made in technology, the uncanny valley is still a thing. It feels weird getting off to bots. But then there’s Ren. And fuck me if she isn’t the most attractive thing I’ve ever seen. I put a hand on the back of her neck, my thumb resting at the diagnostic mode button hidden just under the edge of her jaw. I feel the soft bump that sinks in when I press. Her lilac eyes flash black with snatches of white text, then roll back to lilac. Damn, she smells like a new car.
I glance back at the monitor, and as I suspected, nothing comes up about the aether pump. It seems in perfect working order. Still, I dig around my box of scrap wires and spare tubing until I find my mostly neglected stethoscope. I don’t often have to use it, but I feel a trill of excitement go up from my stomach to think I get to use it on Ren. I plug up my ears and put a hand on her shoulder, taking the bell of the steth in my other hand. Her breasts rise and fall with the rhythm of her breathing, set to mimic human intervals. The real purpose is to cool down her insides and keep her from overheating, but just like the aether pump and its auditory cues, its designed to mimic humans as closely as possible. After a guy fucks something like Ren, he gets the added benefit of being able to lay next to her and listen to her breathing. Feel her heart beat. Doesn’t matter what the purpose of the design is for, it matters so he doesn’t feel like he’s fucking a 100k fleshlight with arms and legs. I press the steth to a spot above her breast and it sinks into her pillowy soft skin like it was real. Cool it, Christ, you can’t get so hot and bothered over everything. Heel, boy.
But my thumb makes a slight imprint against her tit, and it’s hard to think of anything else. Same thing happens when I press the steth against a space under her breast, and it lays warmly against the back of my hand. The pump, like the fake lungs, is designed to look and act and even sound like a heart, pumping coolant through her body. I tell her it’s not a heart out of some petty, pedantic need to distance myself and my unique humanity, but truth is, the thing is a heart. She could die if something went really wrong with it, and a lot of bots have. Sudden cardiac arrest was one of the main bugs in the 2.3 rollout. It got so bad, tons of models in the service industry had to be recalled, because mechanical line cooks and servers were dropping if the ovens got too hot. My hand still on her neck, I pull her forward and press the bell to her back. Her forehead brushes against my shoulder, her gaudy blue wig draping against the side of my neck and jaw. I tilt my head just enough my nose brushes her hair. Fuck, she really does smell good.
“Well, I don’t hear any irregularities,” I tell her, because I don’t. The thing is pumping liquid aether around her body at around 70 bpm, like it should. She draws up from my shoulder, glancing at me sideways. “It only seems to happen with clients,” she says, drying out my throat in an instant. “Clients?” “Mhm. Whenever one of them climaxes. If they do it inside me, my heart starts going very fast. I get foggy and I can’t think afterwards.” I swallow. “Right,” I say, “I mean… I can’t exactly test that, Ren.” She touches my wrist. “It’s rather frightening, Doc. I worry…” She pauses, and I try very hard not to say out loud what I’m thinking. You shouldn’t be frightened of anything, Ren. You’re not supposed to feel any of this. She sits back, bringing her hand up, her fingers curling against where her pump lies in her chest, half covering her nudity.
She doesn’t want to get recalled. I wince in spite of myself. If she has the same defect others in her rollout had, she’s going right back to X Tech. I push the steth around my neck, scooping back hair from my face. “It’s a pretty fatal system flaw. It… I could… Well, I-“ I can’t look at her. Fuck, I really can’t look at her. My face feels hot. This is the plot of like, 90% of bot R34 on the internet. I might as well be a pizza delivery guy and she a lonely housewife who’s a few bucks short on a large sausage. She ‘breathes’. Her chest goes up and down, the lights winking off her pierced nipples. She’s so goddamn gorgeous.
“Doc?” “Thinking,” I huff. I spare a glance around the other cubicles bordering mine. Big glass offices, designed for this exact stupid fucking thing I’m about to do. The first guy who got caught with his dick in a bot ruined it for everyone, so now my coworkers and I are subjected to rat lab cubicles where we can look in on each other at any given moment. People around us testing reflexes, repairing cosmetic damage, quashing bugs. What I was about to do was also technically debugging, but there was no way in hell my boss was gonna see it that way if he saw my flat ass pumping in and out of a bot worth more than I make in a year on the other side of plexiglass. Alright, cool, chill. I scoop up my backpack with my work laptop and sling it over my shoulder. “Bathroom,” I whisper.
Cut to Ren and I, locked in the women’s bathroom. We have three women in the office, and their cubes are on the other side of the building, closer to another bathroom. This one is usually empty. Cut to her, awkwardly standing in front of a toilet. Me, on the verge of being the Most Fired Man Who Ever Lived. For extra security, I’d stuffed us both into a stall, locking it behind me too. It's cramped, which adds to the feeling this is absolutely not what I'm supposed to be doing. But hey, it's my job, isn't it?
I awkwardly maneuver around her and sit on the toilet lid, hastily undoing my pants. God, this is shameful. And weirdly hot? I can't tell if it's just Ren or the dozen or so corporate regulations and general laws I'm breaking doing this, but I can feel the pulse in my cock, pressing up against the inseam of my jeans. Those lavender eyes flick from my face to the swollen, flushed skin, and the outer rim of her pupils flash with color. I help her roll down the leather catsuit and then, holy shit, Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I’m inside her. She feels real. My hands on her back, my face buried in her tits, her thighs on mine, she feels realer than any woman I had ever known. My breath warms her artificial skin, and the barbell through her nipple is cold, the contrast making me shiver whenever the hot skin of my cheek touches the metal. My fingers slide up her stomach, her hips bucking and pumping me in and out of her. She’s tight. Really fuckin tight. I can feel her aether pump, the artificial heart, throbbing in her inner walls, harder than any real heart I’d ever felt. It adds to every stroke, a thumping sensation that’s nearly making me come after a couple thrusts. Christ, I might as well be sticking my dick right against the chambers of her fake heart.
The job. Right, I’m doing a job. Fuck, I’ve never loved my job so much. “Lemme- ngh, God, fuck- lemme see i-ins-side your ch-est, R-Ren.” She’s straddling my lap, panting like a porn star, her bob swinging back and forth, and she nods. The synthetic skin goes translucent, a dull blue glow that starts at her collarbone and down to the bottom of her ribcage. I spare only a brief chuckle, Man, we never could get rid of those stupid gamer lights, before I try to focus my attention on her inner workings. The aether heart is basically a simplified human one, drawing hot fluid in one side and squeezing out coolant through the other in an eternal ebb and flow. And right now, it’s going insane. The valves are snapping open and closed rapidly, the thing shuddering instead of really beating. There’s a little display window pinned under her collarbone, and it’s clocking her at 150 bpm, the green spikes of her heartbeat saw toothing across the round display port. Not totally dangerous, but as I pump inside of her and she bounces on my thighs to match my quickening pace, it keeps climbing.
Alright. As much as I want to be stuck in here forever, with a beautiful woman bouncing on my dick in a way I’ve only ever dreamed of, I have to figure out what’s wrong. I wrap my arms around her body, pulling her flush against my chest. “Hold onto me, ‘kay?” I breathe against her ear. Her arms slid around me, nails brushing briefly against my shoulder blades. I take in her scent. Focus on the sensations of her body, the sharp cold of her piercings, breasts pressed against my chest, her warm, throbbing cunt. It doesn’t take long. I start to lose the rhythm as my breath shortens, my strokes shortening too, until finally I can take it no more. I come, hot seed filling her up, bathing my cock, spilling out from between our sexes. Her back arches, a cry ripping from her throat of the most exquisite ecstasy.
Then she dies.
No, seriously, the bot quits all at once. I’m there, still trying to enjoy the feeling of my load making her even tighter and full, when she goes completely limp. Her arms slide down from my back, and the artificial pulse I feel in her cunt just stops all at once. She’s dead weight on top of me. “Fuck,” I spit, trying to readjust her, but she’s goddamn heavy. “Ren? Hey, Ren- man, what the fuck-”
I look up at her sternum to see the aether pump has stopped. The little internal monitor is reading a flatline. I fumble to unlatch the bathroom door, my other hand cradling her back, as I awkwardly shift to try and swing it open. Both of us end up in a heap on the floor when I try to pick her up. I'm apologizing to her slack and lifeless face as I disentangle myself and hastily zip up, then lay her flat on her back. Her perfect round breasts sit in the open air, her still heart glowing between them. I set my laptop beside her and hook up a USB into the command port hidden behind her ear.
There was no tip off in her crash reports, but looking now, I can see the absolute mess of code in the last few lines she ran before arresting. I clean up some of the irregularities, get rid of the redundancies, and hit reboot. Two small circular nodes glow within her chest, then snap against the chambers of her heart. Basically built in defib units. Her body jerks, hand twitching in against her cheek, her back arching slightly. Her naked shoulder blades slap against the tile floor as she falls back, limp again. But she doesn't move. Her pump is still. I glance at the monitor and see FATAL SYSTEM ERROR flash across the screen. Fuck, am I going to have to do this manually?
Growling in frustration, I throw my hands against her sternum. It's easy to get the right position when I can see her heart lying beneath a few layers of synthetic skin. Squaring my shoulders, I push down hard. Unlike with real CPR on a real person, depth doesn't matter, nor the risk of breaking ribs. She's basically Wolverine. A hydraulic crusher couldn't break her ribs. They yield though, and bow in against her spine as I rhythmically pump her heart. The force ripples through her whole body. Her stomach pops up, her shoulders shrug in, her head rolls back and forth. I look from her face down to her tits. I can't help it, they're swaying with each compression, the light catching her piercings. I can feel the cool metal rest against my fingers. The position my hands are in leaves my fingertip pressing against her nipple, still standing upright from our exercise. A shiver runs through me. Am I seriously getting hard again? It's hard not to. My eyes drink in her still body, the remnants of our session dribbling down her thigh, her breasts bouncing like they had when she was riding me.
I can almost see the corner of the screen light up with “Kink Unlocked: Reviving Dead Girls”. I glance at the monitor and see the reboot option has lit up again. When I take my hands away from her chest, I see her aether pump jerking as if trying to start again. Once more I charge the internal defibrillators. While they hum to life, I partake in a ritual that isn't strictly necessary. The hero always gets to indulge in mouth to mouth with the downed heroine. She doesn't actually need air, but her lips are slack, full and inviting. I press mine over hers, breathing air she doesn't need into her mouth. I can feel her cheeks puff, and I'm surprised but excited to see her chest rises too. I give her a few quick bursts of oxygen. Her chest jerks up and I only allow it to fall part way before I give her another, making her chest rise and fall in short hyperventilations. My hand finds itself running up her stomach to feel the motion of my breaths, up over her breast again. It fills my palm as I breathe a long, slow draft into her throat, and I roll her nipple between my fingers. She sighs out recycled air against my face when I break the seal of our lips.
Man, how do EMTs not cum when they resuscitate hot girls? The whole tableau is so erotic, I can feel my pulse once more jerk in my cock. The defibs once more slap the chambers of her artificial heart and she thrashes under the current. Her breasts sway and she again falls limp to the tiles.
“Come on, Ren,” I say under my breath, watching her aether pump swelling at uneven intervals. The chambers aren't beating right still, snapping open and closed out of sync with one another. I again check her code on my laptop, using one hand to tap through my options. The other I lay against her sternum. It occurs to me I really don't know what the fuck I'm doing. Whatever feels like it helps, I guess. Or whatever feels good. I grind my heel in against her heart in slow, rhythmic compressions with one hand. “Come on, work with me here. Breathe for me. Do something, at least let me know you're not completely bricked.” The idea that she might be makes me swallow hard. I like Ren. I don't want to ship her off to the junkyard as much as she doesn't want to be shipped.
When her heart goes still again I lace my fingers together and start pumping her chest anew. I forget my laptop entirely- this isn't a software issue, it's the hardware in her chest acting up. If I can just get the damn thing to reset. Swinging my leg over her supple thighs, I straddle her so I can use my whole body. Like this, I can feel the motion my work creates in her otherwise still body. Each powerful thrust against her pump rolls the kinetic force through her whole body. Her feet swing back and forth. The force rolls from her chest, down her stomach, even rippling her thighs. Each compression makes her stomach roll out, only now I can feel it between my legs.
Fuck it, I'm already fired. These life saving efforts have got me hard all over again, something I would have thought impossible. I unzip and thrust into her almost in one motion. It's next to impossible to actually pump into her while I'm working her heart, so I mostly settle for letting her body rock into me while I do CPR. Only when the prompt for the defibrillator pops up again do I allow myself to roll my hips into her while it charges. The thing whines quietly as I brace my hand against her chest, driving my cock deep inside her. It slaps her heart again and she arches her back, filling my hand against her sternum. Her inner walls clench with the electricity and I groan as I roll in and out of her. That's when she draws in a breath and moans all at once. Her eyes flutter open and she instinctively begins to grind her hips in rhythm with me. Before long I'm filling her up all over again and I collapse on top of her. She's back. The thought strikes me as I look down and see her aether pump snapping out a normal, if elevated rhythm. I roll off onto the welcome chill of the tile floors, my arm still slung around her.
“You okay?” I pant, my eyes half lidded as I look at her. Ren nods, smiling weakly in return. Then she’s wrapping her arms around me, burying her face in my shoulder. I hesitate, the shame of what I had done to her when she was basically dead starting to creep up now that the high is waning. But eventually I slide my arms around her in return, drawing her close to my body. “Thank you, doc,” she whispers.
“Don't mention it.” Seriously, don't mention any of this.

This is more just some more information of headcanons I have and how I like writing the bots. So I hope you enjoy it. This one's more on the differences and similarities between humans and Cybertronians.
Word count: 2.5k
Warning: mentions of reproduction, and exploration of body's. Valveplug.
__________
So this is just a continuation for Human effects. This one also delves into some more information on biological, cultural and different frames and how they interact with each other, humans and other organic Creatures.
Biological Humans and Cybertronians are vastly different even with quite a few similarities.
Sparklings and children
There is a very big difference in the body function of Humans and Cybertronians. Size for one but also Organic DNA and CNA. There are many things which can Line up with the other species but also function very differently
Such as.

Helm and head
With the fact one is filled with circuitry, coding and wires and the other is filled with flesh, fluid and other organic matter. Humans' heads are covered in hair most times. And even those who aren't their head Is still rather soft and smooth. And the bots love playing with human hair and facial hair when they are allowed too.
It also leads to humans giving the bots head scratches, and it's something so man you the bots had never thought of and they love it. They will lay their head in their human lap and just enjoy the gentle touches to their Finial, audials, and helm crest. It becomes. Causal thing of the humans using soft little microfiber cloths to clean out dust and dirt from the small crevices in the bots Plating. Head pats and scratches really becomes something that Cybertronians love alot and it makes a lot of humans consider the bots large cats.
Faceplate and Faces.
One of the things which is very different between humans and Cybertronians is how they show affection to each other. Cybertronians do a thing called a helm hold. Where they each hold their partner's helm in their servos while looking into each other's optics, it's how they show how much they care, because they are focusing only on that one person. And it means alot more after the war, to focus all your attention on just one bots servos shows a lot of trust, affection and love for someone.
While humans have Hugging, kissing. So the bots are rather confused the first time they are hugged, tensing up not wanting to hurt their human. And they nearly short circuit when the human kisses them it's more out of fear.
“Do you know how dangerous that is! What if I crushed you!” The bot hisses in panic while looking at their lover. “not to mention the fact that is my Energon Intake! Do you know what energon can do to Humans!” It nearly sends the bot into meltdowns as they hold their lover's face staring into their eyes trying to show them how much they love and care for them. It would break their spark if they accidentally hurt them.
“it's called a Kiss, I was kissing you” the human tries to explain, their hands cupping around their bots servos.
“a kiss?” the bot inquired. “Yea I'm sorry if you didn't want it, it's just I thought we were in that part of our relationship” the human begins rambling out of anxiety thinking they had messed up. In the end they both settle for a small gesture in-between. Pressing their head and helm, together as they cradle the other.
Eventually they will come around to accepting kisses but it is only for very special occasions. Because the bot will make sure that there isn't a trace of energon in their system for their partner's safety. Over time it becomes them pressing soft kisses to each other's noses.
Skin and Plating
These are all the parts which somewhat are similar to humans, but also work vastly different than the human body does. So with this listed here are many of the things that vary with the similarities.
Plating and skin are vastly different due to one being metal and the other being flesh, it's one of the things a lot of the Cybertronians love is how soft Human skin is. They really enjoy just fondling their human companions, pulling their checks, and enjoying how their skin moves. How pliable, warm and squishy they are. Cybertronians finding out about human breasts really takes them by storm.
“What are those?” the bot asks while pressing a finger to their breast feeling how soft and squishy they are.
“breast, boobs, tits they have a lot of names”
“What are they for?” The bot continues to just slowly play with them out of curiosity, not knowing what the human would need them for.
“they are used for feeding babies, they fill with milk, it's not a constant thing and not everyone's do but they are for feeding babies.” the human tries to explain and it just leaves the bot shocked.
“You're with Sparkling?” The bot asked as they began fussing over the human more, gently pressing their digits to the human's body more.
“no, no I'm not pregnant!” They laugh out loud while rather embarrassed. “‘but wouldn't they deflate?” The bot shoots back as their digits begin needing the flesh which makes the humans sigh and lean into the touch. “human babe, don't have the same functions as you.” They tease softly.
It ends up with one bot having their human lover back pressed to their Chassis. The bot's servos just cupped around their partners breast slowly massaging them as the human leans back just enjoying the feeling because it takes the weight off their back and the cool touch of the metal feels delightful against their skin.
Heart and spark
The difference between a human heart and spark aren't that different at all. They both pump blood/energon to where it's needed, it's the life provider of the body. Each has a beat or pulse. And the said beat and pulse sounds different. A human's heart beat feels like a thump but to Cybertronians it's an echo. Each beat they can feel and see like A beating light. And they love how it feels laying against them, their spark will actually fall in tune With their heart beat as a way to calm the human. While for humans a Cybertronians spark pulse feels like electricity dancing across their skin it's like the build up of static but it doesn't zap. The vibration of a spark is like energy building and releasing, the buzzing sound that just resonates through their body as they lay against their bot.
olfactory sensors and nose
Unfortunately humans don't have the enhanced scent sensors that a lot of other species do, and Cybertronians have one for the most advanced ones, they don't just smell it but they can break down the chemical compound to its base and are able to tell humans emotions based on how they smell. It also leads to bots becoming rather touching with their lovers when they can smell their cycle. It also leads a lot of bots realising they have a breeding kink after being with a human, because the moment they can feel their partners change in hormones they are hovering. It becomes an even bigger thing when they smell the scent of a young spark, they feel the EM Field.
carriers and pregnancy
There is a major difference between human pregnancy and cybertronian pregnancy. Humans can only be born from reproduction. a new spark can be formed in multiple ways.
-Forged.
-Cold construct.
-split spark
- Sparked
Forged new sparks are bots that are formed in hotspots across cybertron and on occasions sparklings can also be formed from these hot spots.
Cold constructs are bots that have been made by others for a purpose and were originally classed as 2nd class citizens, miners or lower than other bots,
Split Sparks made from splitting your spark into another form. It was very rare due to multiple laws being inplace against it.
Sparklings were formed through spark merging with another and creating enough energy to form new lifeforms. A carrier would then have to host said spark in their Gestation chamber until the spark could grow its own protoform. Then from there they are moved into the carrier chamber where they learn off their carrier's coding, and also receive food, coding and personal information from their Sire via Transfluid. As sparklings are still not able to consume normal energon and it has to be processed down enough for the sparkling. (Similar to how humans breastfeed) from there once they are ready the sparkling will be ‘birthed’ and from their they will need to be carried in a spark chamber until they have fully developed but gives them time to learn the world around them but still have the safety of a parent to protect them.
This leads the bots and humans to both be horrified at the differences of the others' reproduction. The bots are horrified over the fact a human's pelvis bone breaks just to birth a baby. But also the fact that humans can carry more than one child. They eventually watch a documentary over human birth; it makes a lot of bots short out and crash.
Humans on the other hand are shocked over the time it takes for a bot to have a sparkling. 100 years is longer than a lot of humans ever live but it's how long it takes for the full process of a sparkling to be formed and born. That's without all the issues with CNA, temperature, spark energy, energon. A Lot of Cybertronian pregnancies don't make it to term due to these factors.
So when by some chance a human gets pregnant by a Cybertronian it has the whole planet up in a tissy. Not just the fact of how genetically different they are but how it happened. The first human Cybertronian sparkling is a miracle watched by man and documented. And it turns out the human womb is actually the best possible hosting spot for the start of a sparkling, it's the perfect temperature, and it's not a temperature a lot of bots can keep their own frames. The human womb actually short cuts a lot of time over the birth Due to the sparkling Not needing to be shifted from one chamber to another. It comes down to being pregnant for 3 years. It's a long time for a human but it's decades Less than what it normally takes for a Cybertronian if they made it through the full progress.
And when the sparkling is born it's discovered that the sparkling doesn't have any human traits, defects or appearance. Due to the human body mainly working as a host, the CNA and DNA don't mix when it comes to creating a sparkling but they work perfectly in sync When it comes to helping the sparkling grow. And it also turns out humans are able to sustain more than One sparkling.
That also brings me to the function of spike and Valves. For Cybertronians spikes and Valves aren't how Sparklings are created, sparklings are created from two sparks merging together and creating enough energy for a sparkling but interface is needed to start the process of how they form. Sparkling needs Transfluid to begin and that is what Cybertronians use interfacing for outside of sharing memories, information and emotions. Most times Cybertronians interface for fun, feeling close, sharing information with a loved one, or to help feed a sparkling the necessary data, fluids and programming.
so When a Cybertronian and human interface it has a lovely mix of a 50/ 50 chance of getting pregnant due to how the human and cybertronian heart and spark link in a frequency that is almost essential Spark merging. And a human doesn't even need to interface with a Cybertronian to get pregnant.
Here is a list of ways humans have gotten pregnant/ a bot has gotten pregnant.
-interfacing
-spark bonding
-a human touching a bots spark.
-having enough hated for another you get them pregnant by sheer Anger
- spark And heart syncing
-A human being on their cycle will make a bot pregnant.
______________
Megatron entered the medbay of the Lost Light, feeling unusual warmth and pressure in his chest. "Ratchet," he said gruffly to get the medic's attention. "Something is...off. I feel as if I have consumed fool's energon again, but I know that is not the case."
He looked down at the medic, his optics betraying slight concern beneath his usual stern demeanour. "Examine me and determine what ails me. I need to be at full function." His pride did not allow him to admit weakness easily, but he trusted Ratchet's skills.
Ratchet nodded to First Aid and They as they stood ready to assist. He turned back to Megatron with a scrutinising gaze.
"When did you first notice the symptoms? Any other anomalies in your systems?" he asked gruffly, scanning the Decepticon warlord from head to foot with a diagnostic tool. The scans showed unusual activity in Megatron's Gestation chamber.
"Hmm...it appears your spark is pulsing more rapidly than normal. And the pressure you described suggests a buildup of energon flow." Ratchet paused, analysing the data. "This could indicate...no, it's not possible. Or is it...?" He leaned in closer, inspecting Megatron with keen optics.
"We'll need a more detailed scan. Over here, lay back - this won't hurt but may feel peculiar. First Aid, fire up the resonator. Ambulon you're in charge of monitoring vitals."
"What's wrong, ratchet he was fine this morning?" The human asked in concern.
Megatron lay back on the medical berth as directed, his massive frame dwarfing its size. his expression softened ever so slightly. As the detailed spark scan began, Ratchet's optics widened in surprise. "By the Allspark...it can't be..." He motioned First Aid "Look here. What do you see?"
First Aid peered at the monitor in amazement. "Two distinct spark pulses...but how is that possible?" Ratchet glanced over at Megatron, then back at the others. "It would seem Megatron himself is carrying sparkling. The increased energon flow and pressure were signs of protoform development beginning."
He chuckled wryly. "Well Megatron, it seems that fool's energon was not to blame after all. Congratulations...you're going to be a creator." Megatron's optics widened in disbelief at Ratchet's announcement. Carrying sparkling? It made no sense as far as he knew, spark merging could only occur between cybertronians and he had only been intimate with a human.
He sat up abruptly, almost knocking First Aid over, and glared down at Ratchet. "Explain yourself, medic! How is this possible? The human and I have been intimate but they clearly lack our means of conception." Ratchet held up a calming hand. "Peace, Megatron. I have a theory,"

Mentor Starscream x seeker!reader (22/?)
Trine leader instincts make you insanely overstimulated and prone to raging.
---
Your instincts as trine leader could not have come at a worse time.
Another high-ranking officer had taken notice of your increased involvement in managing Decepticon activity as you helped Starscream with his duties, and apparently liked what he saw.
"The small blue one," He'd remarked to Starscream. "Why not give 'em a chance?"
On instinct, Starscream's tightly drawn EM field had flared for a klik. He'd been torn over the need to keep you unassuming, middling along, associated with his affairs enough not to be questioned so that you could avoid being a target. However, this was an opportunity he hadn't expected to fall right into this lap - an offer from someone else to advance your standing in the hierarchy, so it wouldn't look like he was playing favourites. With your trining instincts emerging as well and your random, explosive bursts of instinct making you harder to ignore... it looked like a good long-term opportunity to change tactics. The current objective, then, was to ensure you were less easily replaced from Megatron's point of view.
The mission you'd been given was simple by comparison, and Starscream had made it out to be easy-peasy. Of course it was, he'd been doing them for millions of years.
Your task was to lead two other fliers on an aerial scouting mission to the coordinates of a rumoured energon source. All you had to do was scope out the area and report on whether or not it would be safe to proceed with further investigations on ground.
Unfortunately, because you weren't trined yet, it was down to random chance as to who you'd be put in a group with. You weren't like Starscream, either, whose wealth of experience meant that he could easily accommodate random mechs assigned to him when Thundercracker and Skywarp weren't available (even if he complained over comms the whole time). Further, those he flew with would normally be of substantial rank given his own high one, meaning that it was never much of a problem. For you, however, starting from the bottom meant that you could be faced with literally anybody.
As luck would have it, you are landed with two mechs from the Delta Squadron.
"Primus," Starscream mutters, as soon as you show him the designations on the task list. You don't say anything, but the reset of your vocaliser is audible as you attempt to clear the ball of anxious static that had been layering your voice all morning.
It had been like that for a while, too. Your anxiety, once a low, manageable simmer, now boiled beneath your plating and bubbled through the cracks to rattle your EM field in quite an unpleasant manner. The crux of it as well was that you didn't know what was wrong - it hadn't been that bad before.
...Okay, well, it had.
But not in recent memory. You don't linger long on that, anyway, because your flighty processor becomes distracted by just how sterile the lights within the base are. Had they always been so glaringly bright? And your wings suddenly feel absurdly heavy, too. You can feel exactly where they're connected to your back, touching you. Rolling your shoulders, the joints strain a bit more than necessary as you... what? Try to get away from the join of your wings to your back?
You shake your helm. Frag. You're losing it again.
It wouldn't have been the first time in recent orbital cycles, but back then, you could get away with floating through the day, zoning out as you pretended to read datapads. Right before you're about to lead your first mission, though... it doesn't bode well.
Starscream's not with you when you arrive the takeoff point, busy with his own duties on the bridge. Both of your teammates for the day are larger in frame than you are, one with a heavier build and the other as thin as a reed in bot-mode. The stouter one hails you with a friendly greeting as you approach, talking non-stop as you run through final checks. It's quickly apparent that he's in the Delta Squadron because his lack of experience was translating, currently, into a lack of refinement, but all in all you think you can make it work. The other one, however, was adding another thrumming layer of worry to the anxiety churning in your tanks. They seemed nice enough, but it was also apparently clear, in this case, why this flier had simply not made it out of the Delta Squadron despite appearing a couple million years older than you were.
"I don't think we should fly this way."
"Wait, wait - it can't be safe!"
"Our formation-! It's meant to be perfectly aligned, you're not doing it right..."
"You should fly our formation over there. There! Over there!"
For a while, you can bite your glossa and mutter acknowledgements through gritted denta. But what really does you in is the occasional nudging at the edges of your wings when you're coasting slowly and considering your next move, the invasive press of an overly close EM field that pulls your attention away from the task at hand. The constant noise in your audials, the itching of mesh beneath your plating that has you wanting claw yourself into ribbons - it's enough to make you miss the very obvious sight of two Autobots converging on the very same coordinates you're heading for.
It is through sheer luck that the first shot misses you.
"You need to engage!" Comes the skinnier jet's voice in a howl over your comms - a noise that grates excessively on your audials and further compounds the sudden swell of rage from deep inside your spark.
'You'? What happened to 'we'?
Still, even in the heat of a gunfight, you find yourself reluctant to kill - yet, the stouter jet has no such qualms, clearly raised on a diet of Decepticon propaganda and without the wherewithal to question it. It's probably thanks to his poor aim that the Autobots below you manage to evade his shots without any serious injuries. Still, it doesn't look like they're backing down without a fight - energon has been in short supply for the Decepticons as of late, and it seemed that the Autobots are no exception.
"Shoot so that when they evade your shots, they'll be forced further away from the coordinates!" You bark.
You can feel the thinner bot's trepidation despite his willingness to tell you what to do - his shot goes horrifically wide, and you mentally run through the full list of both Vosian and standard Cybertronian curses. The full responsibility to ensure success falls squarely on your shoulders, and it's the sheer overwhelm of noise, of unwanted touch, the glare of sun squarely in your optics that would have seen you crying tears of frustration and helplessness had you not forced it back through sheer willpower.
You'll be embarrassed to admit later the way in which anxiety simply swarms your frame, overcome by sheer sensory overwhelm. Your shots also stray horrifically off course, a far cry from your real capabilities. You end up having to focus on evading the Autobots' return shots rather than pressing an offensive. They're much better coordinated than the three of you are, and deep in your sinking spark, you realise that in order to keep all three of you alive, you're going to have to call a retreat.
The return flight of shame is made worse by the incessant grating of the thinner jet's voice on what you should have done. You fly resolutely ahead, not caring that you've broken formation for even an inch more of distance between you. But to make matters worse, Starscream and the other high-ranking officer are waiting for you at the landing point.
You transform and land, schooling your twitching features into something presentable to a commanding officer.
"Report."
"Sir. As we approached the coordinates, we saw two Autobots converging on the same location."
Starscream's faceplate had remained passive as the other officer questioned you - but at the mention of Autobots, you watched him stiffen ever so imperceptibly out of the corner of your optic.
"Did you engage?"
"We did. The Autobots shot first, and we engaged with the intention of driving them away from the coordinates."
'We' is spoken through gritted denta, knowing full well that a third of your team had contributed absolutely nothing.
"Intention...? So you didn't drive them away."
"...No, sir."
A pause, followed by a deep sigh that washes over you like a tidal wave of shame as you stare at your pedes.
“I suppose it can’t be helped,” The commanding officer remarks. “We knew the possibility of an Autobot presence, but I didn’t think you’d be so lucky on your first mission as to really run into them. No matter. We’ll send ground patrols ahead of schedule before the Autobots can launch a full-scale operation for the energon. Dismissed.”
Had you been in the right frame of mind, you’d be able to realize that you’d done the best you could in the face of an unexpected situation, and the officer in charge had seen and acknowledged that. However, as the mesh under your plating crawls with inability to regulate the amount of unwelcome touch to your plates, you find yourself sinking into a moody spiral of frustration, deeper into a suffocating shame, and further down… where a flaming pit of white-hot anger awaited you at the bottom.
You find yourself taken aback by your own anger as you spin crisply around and barely manage to keep from storming off. At the same time, a darker part of you feels alive.
That was new.
Had that always been there?
It was a strange sensation of knowing you could get angry, really angry, but never quite having enough charge to really ignite that flame. You were even-tempered in general, so leaning into your anger felt good - if not terrifying at the same time, because you felt like you were spiraling utterly out of control.
Starscream’s long strides have him falling easily into step with you.
“Your decision-making wasn’t too bad,” He muses aloud. “I would have attempted a group Split-S to divert their attention - you outnumbered them, after all.”
His tone is neutral, careful. A poorly disguised attempt to smooth the rough edges of your anger and you do appreciate it. But you don’t want to linger any longer on your perceived failings than you have to, and his misguided attempts at making you feel better just twist the knife deeper. The anger coils unpleasantly in your internals, just beneath the surface and you struggle to bite it back.
“That mech,” you spit. “What’s his problem?”
Starscream's intake twists with sympathetic displeasure. "He's... known for being like that. That's why no one wants to fly with him."
"So they lumped him in with me."
You don't wait for a response. Even with your association to Starscream, you're still considered, hierarchy-wise, amongst the lowest. Which meant that you couldn't complain about it, and the blame would be put entirely on you. You'd kept your cool up to that point, but the bubbling rage finally spills over.
"Why didn't you tell me-? I could have done it! I know I'm better than that - I could have... Frag!"
"Calm down," Starscream says sharply.
His EM field pushes against yours in silent warning, and you abruptly realize you had been shouting. When had you ever done that? You realize that you hadn't meant to blame him, either, but control is difficult when your anger burns like wildfire.
"I'm calm," you finally snarl through gritted denta, lowering your helm in silent apology.
Starscream regards your trembling frame for a moment. When he doesn't speak, your digits curl into fists, claws digging painfully into the plating of your palms.
"...I'm going back to our habsuite."
"...Yes, that would be a good choice."
Your moments are still marked with hesitance - Starscream's approval the only thing that can still cut through the fog of rage, but as soon as you hear his acquiescence, you're gone.
No, you're not running away.
It would just be unseemly to be caught with coolant leaking from your optics, is all.
The door to your shared habsuite can't open quickly enough. It takes your trembling frame a few clumsy tries before you can actually heave yourself onto the berth where you immediately curl up, back to the door.
To the world.
Even now, rage has your plates feeling prickly and hot, energon thundering through your fuel lines like a war drumbeat. You don't know what to do with this anger, an anger that until now had been foreign to you. Deeper than that, it was a frustrated, searing heat in your fuel lines that told you that you'd failed to keep your trine - no, that was just a trio - together, and rage at having your judgement so carelessly thrown into question by a mech under your command. You curl up tighter when you hear the door whoosh quietly open again, feeling hot and cold at the same time, mentally preparing yourself for another conversation that you really didn't need right now.
Unexpectedly, something incredibly soft gets dropped on top of you. You cycle your optics in confusion, raising a trembling servo to tug at... a blanket. Since when did the Decepticon base have luxuries like blankets?
Starscream watches as you raise the soft material to your cheek.
"...Thank you." Your voice is gruff, and it takes you no time at all to pull the incredibly soft blanket over your helm, burrowing deep into it until you're completely hidden, save for the jut of your massive wings.
You think that's it, but you don't hear as much as feel Starscream's EM field draw closer as he sits on the edge of the berth.
For a cycle, either of you speak.
"...What's wrong with me?" You mumble.
Starscream hesitates. You still didn't have a name to put to these random outbursts, and seeing your small form huddled up in berth, drained of anger, leaving only a heavy aura of depression - it makes him wonder if he's made a mistake in keeping the concept of trining instincts from you until you'd gone through the full process. The worry was that you'd seemed content to just spend the rest of your life by his side - a little too content. It was something Starscream hadn't wanted to confront, just as happy to exist in your own little world of two - but it hadn't been healthy for your social development. Late trining instincts had been unexpected, but Starscream was not a mech to squander opportunity. He had wanted to ensure you felt the full extent of your instincts in the hopes that you would form - or attract, even, a trine of your own.
Anything to stop you from pinning the purpose for your entire existence on him and him alone.
Still, emerging trine leader instincts were especially tough. He would know. Starscream's EM field expands soothingly to encompass yours. The lump beneath the blanket relaxes ever so slightly.
The least he could do, then, was to let you know that he was here for you.
You didn't have to know that the resonance of his field was one shared specifically between trine leaders.
