The Inkey List Skincare Review
Sharing a review of Inkey List on the blog! #inkeylist #skincare
Last year I bought a few items from the Inkey List to test and review. I heard about this brand being affordable and ingredient-focused much like The Ordinary and I thought, hey why not give them a try. I ordered items from the line that I knew I would use and based on the description would (hopefully) work for my skin. After testing them out for many months, I think I have a pretty good idea of…

TORONTO STAR: What Canadian TV show is more popular with Americans than ‘Friends’? Try ‘Heartland’
The long-running family-ranch CBC drama was the 13th most popular show of any sort in the U.S. in 2022, Nielsen says.
There’s a Canadian TV show that is winning a most elusive and dreamt-of prize in Canadian entertainment: a big American audience. An almost astonishingly large one, in fact.
Big-city viewers, you may wish to sit down.
It’s “Heartland.”
Last month, Variety published Nielsen audience numbers for streaming shows in 2022; the long-running family-ranch drama was the 13th most popular show of any sort in the U.S., ahead of “The Simpsons” and “Friends.” Nielsen reported 18 billion minutes viewed, the equivalent of 360 million full episodes. It’s as if every single American watched an instalment.
It wasn’t a sudden explosion of interest; numbers from the previous year ranked the horse-filled show as streaming’s fifth most popular “acquired” (that is, not a streaming service original) show, well ahead of the likes of “Seinfeld” and “The Walking Dead.”
All this for a show that after 16 seasons and 249 episodes, is a part of this country’s TV landscape that’s rather taken for granted — getting very little love at the Canadian Screen Awards, for example.
What’s going on here?
“Nothing beats horse porn,” said veteran Canadian TV writer Bill Brioux, with tongue in cheek, when asked to shed some light on “Heartland” and its U.S. triumphs. More sincerely, “I think there’s probably a hunger for family shows, family drama. And it’s not really served these days by even streaming.”
And “Heartland” is nothing if not a family show. Set on the Bartlett clan’s expansive abode in the Rocky Mountain foothills of Alberta, it’s devoted centrally to Amy (Amber Marshall), who has gone from a girl losing her mother in the first episode back in 2007 to a young mother and widow now. Residing with her is the grandfather who raised her, her once estranged father, Tim, and their spouses and children, as they navigate matters of love and business — Amy’s business being her knack for healing troubled steeds as a kind of horse whisperer.
It might be tempting to compare it to another juggernaut: the ranch show that does get talked about, “Yellowstone.” But it’s like imagining that show without the high stakes, the violent confrontations or Kevin Costner’s star power; the most attention-grabbing guest star of the latest season of “Heartland” was a zorse.
After stumbling onto it, one U.S. blogger, Anthony Del Vecchio, wrote about the show almost a decade ago under the heading “My Girlfriend Made Me Watch This,” and described being won over.
“The show has an underlying theme of healing through love and compassion and there’s not an ironic bone in the show’s DNA … a refreshing change of pace among the cynicism that seems to be permeating the American television landscape,” he wrote, likening it to American fare such as “Seventh Heaven” and “Gilmore Girls” without the endearing/exhausting rat-a-tat dialogue of the latter or the religious moralism of the former.
“I like that the show’s about the relationship between people and animals, but I also like the fact that it’s a multi-generational family show living under one roof,” said U.S. fan Denise Cornelius, whose own upbringing was likewise with grandparents present. The 44-year-old marketing director for Yahoo, based in Virginia, loves family-friendly fare (along with “Bridgerton” and “The 100”) and has a horse of her own, and reckons both are why the Netflix algorithm offered the show up to her.
“I was washing dishes,” said 28-year-old Floridian Andrew Bjork, recalling when Netflix’s landing page pitched him on “Heartland.” He was soon pulled in by the “beautiful scenery” and the show’s penchant for shooting on film but also started appreciating the actors’ chemistry — they simply “seem to get along with one another.”
Giving Americans with various streaming subscriptions and viewing habits a chance to discover the show was very much the plan for “Heartland” executive producer Jordy Randall. He notes that the show has been available nonexclusively on a variety of U.S. platforms — Netflix; Hulu; UPtv, a broadcaster/streamer; ad-supported streaming channels from FilmRise — with a goal in mind.
“That was a conscious choice to try to broaden the audience,” he said. “This does not make a bunch of money, which is the odd thing … I think what it does is it builds brand loyalty and it builds stability … If we get to do Season 17, for example, I know there will be a home for the show in the U.S. in addition to Canada.”
All the availability “wouldn’t matter if they didn’t like it,” Randall added, pointing out that the huge library of episodes is a big reward for new fans. He suggests a common experience is a 12-year-old girl who loves horses: “she will go onto CBC Gem and start watching the show from Season 1 … It is so rewarding and usually what happens is she starts liking it and then usually the mother will say, ‘Oh, what are you watching?’ … it’s because it’s all there that we can build a brand new audience every year.”
Fan Cornelius concurs, suggesting that by the time U.S. streaming viewers found it, “it was already like five seasons in so you could binge-watch it … and people really like that here, the ability to watch a show (at length) without any interruption.”
Canadians who reliably tune in still for “Coronation Street” need no education on the charms of a low-stakes, long-running show whose characters have deep histories. And while Canadian ratings are hard to come by, “Heartland” has certainly kept a following here, which might explain why CBC is pulling it off of Netflix in this country at month’s end; viewers aiming to binge must head to the corporation’s own service, Gem.
Binge viewing can turn character evolution that took place over years into a more striking change observed over months. Bjork mentioned the satisfaction of watching Tim (Chris Potter) “go from absentee dad to him winning back his father-in-law’s trust.”
Cornelius agreed: “I remember at the beginning that Jack just didn’t like him. To have Jack respect him and be the person — in the last episode Tim is telling Jack to do the right thing — I never thought I would see the day that it wouldn’t be any other way around.”
It’s an intriguing irony that streaming and modern TV’s endless options let American viewers indulge a taste for a distinctly old-fashioned show compared by both Brioux and Del Vecchio to “Little House on the Prairie.” The former writer — noting that the much praised new arrival “Poker Face” is “‘The Fugitive’ meets ‘Columbo’ … the storytelling is almost identical” — thinks retro sensibilities are having a moment.
“There’s so much damn TV out there to cover, yet I’m still looking at ‘The Beverly Hillbillies’ on Tubi … peak TV has kind of hit the wall, right?”

The Student - Her True Story
In Her Own Words
It's been a decade since The Student drama exploded in the royal fandom so here is my write-up of what lead up to the drama, how it unfolded and the aftermath.
Thanks @duchessanon for encouraging me to do this!
This is much longer than anticipated so I've included a cut. I know it's a lot to read but there's a juicy reveal that I've never shared before within!
Before I was even aware of this fandom, I was a casual royal watcher. My granny has loved Diana since I can remember and I would borrow her books about her in my teens. I also grew up watching satirical Canadian shows that would often poke fun at the royals although I didn't really understand a lot of it as a child. And then there was the general education on the royal family in school - you know, where we learned about Canada being a constitutional monarchy. Ahem.
In my teens and early 20s, I got into pop culture in general and would follow a lot of the drama that went on with the younger royals. Guy Pelly, Chinawhite, Club H, William e-mailing Britney, etc. I knew it all despite not being someone who watched the weddings, followed the tours here in Canada or kept up with thing like events like Trooping the Colour. My main source for this info was a Livejournal blog called ONTD - which is still running somehow!
One 2012 day, I happened to click into a royal post and saw a comment thread referencing TrueRoyals (now @heavyarethecrowns) and decided to check her out. I specifically noticed the one comment about being this blog being harsh on Kate's body which I didn't like and soon found out that the Kate content was way more vile and misogynistic than described. I left a few anons defending her and was written off as a "mini-midd". I wouldn't say I was a full blown Kate stan but I did think she was beautiful, loved her style and related to her as a fellow Tall Girl ™. Perhaps the attacks did feel a bit personal to me because of that but I hate seeing any woman spoken about in the way and always speak up when I see it (which I can back up, I'm on Real Housewives Reddit these days and get exhausted from defending morally objectionable women from misogynistic attacks).
I then decided it was time to shit stir. I was bored and had an idea that I knew would create drama. I have never admitted this to anyone (aside from duchessanon and one other blogger in private) but I created a secrets account called "royalfandomsecrets". I started out with a bunch of fake "secrets" with the goal of making Rachel and her ilk paranoid. I never crossed the line into anything mean-spirited, just calling out some of the hateful messages being spread. I'd also pick names to include at random, blogs I had never looked at before (including Kate stan accounts) but would find through reblogs, and say something innocuous enough that it would've made me laugh had it been said about me. Then the real secrets started pouring in and this is where it got interesting.
From what I remember, the secrets being sent in weren't that bad. I wouldn't post anything that could be considering bullying and nothing stands out in my mind as particularly harsh, aside from some of the posts coming in about Rachel. Now I wasn't stupid, I had installed an IP logger from the start because I had a feeling something was going to happen with these secrets and my instincts were proven correct when I noticed the most hateful secrets towards Rachel were coming from one IP. Her own.
Rachel was very open about where she lived. I don't know if she still is open about it but I'm not going to share where (and I don't even remember anyway). I was surprised by this. I remember on one occassion she even posted about a very old church in her town. I knew with certainty that these posts had to be coming from her because she sent in a message chastising me off anon that matched the same IP. With this documented, I attempted my first TrueRoyals takedown. I posted a screenshot from the IP tracker with the IP blocked out and, if I remember correctly, I believe I blocked out everything but her county. Rachel was furious about this and reported me to tumblr admin, getting me shutdown. I believed this to be unfair but, at the time, there was nothing I could do about it.
So I moved on and started sending her anons. Sometimes just dumb questions, sometimes spreading silly rumours like claiming one aesthetic tumblr belonged to Beatrice or describing my ~dream royal wedding dress~ (which sounded horrific btw, I was surprised she even shared it). That's when I realized she was responding to any and every anon I was sending in and then it clicked; I could have fun with this!
As you can see from the above ONTD link, it was rumoured that Harry was dating Mollie King. At the time, The Saturdays had a new single (30 Days) from their next album coming out so I sent in an anon saying that Harry and Mollie were friends who were not actually dating but were pretending to for mutually beneficial reasons - Mollie had a song/album to promote and Harry was trying to deflect from a real relationship with an unknown university student. To be honest, I didn't think this was my best work. I thought Rachel would shut it down like she did with the Beatrice tumblr (the girl's hairstyle pictured was the wrong shade of red apparently). At most, I thought she'd ask where I had heard this. I didn't except her to respond with, "I've heard this too."
I let her go on to her anons about this for a bit and watched the Harry stans lose their shit. One of the best moments, soon after this, happened when paparazzi tweeted or put out somewhere (I don't know how the Harry stans knew about this so quickly) that Harry had been spotted on Oxford's campus. The fandom collectively lost their minds for a few hours until the photos came out and it was just some poor ginger who probably didn't understand what was happening to him. I will always wonder if paps/journos were following some of these blogs for tips and went because of The Student rumour...
My biggest mistake here was not taking screenshots or documenting my plans with this in any way but, as I said, I didn't expect her to bite. When I decided to expose the truth behind this rumour, I knew she'd lie her way out of it because of this. Her loyal followers and K8 H8erz stuck with her but it had blown up within the general fandom with the mini-midds particularly enjoying the drama. I realized shortly after that I did have a comment exchange on ONTD about how I had been trolling Rachel with this rumour with one of the people from the original thread I linked, dated from before I revealed myself to tumblr, but enough time had passed and those who didn't want to believe me ignored it. I no longer have that screenshot either and deleted my LJ account, sadly, so I can't even attempt to find it.
A few more fakers were taken down after this, some with my involvement and some from my comrades who had the same sense of humour and (justified) mischief as I did. One who particularly stands out to me was one who claimed to be an incredibly young mother of one who was also pregnant with her second. She said she was married to a Lord and claimed that he, his family and all of the aristos hated Kate and used it to justify misogynstic comments about her. She made a mistake by mentioning that this husband was Jewish though. Fandom members searched for Jewish aristos and couldn't find any Lord that fit his age or description.
It seemed that being questioned on this was a bit too much for her because her "husband" logged in to her tumblr to announce they were moving to Canada because she was getting her Master's at McGill and she got a job as a cultural attaché in Ottawa and would be working with Charles and Camilla on their upcoming Canada tour. When I pointed out that McGill was a two-hour drive from Ottawa and that it seemed like an extreme choice to move with a newborn and a toddler, work full-time, commute four hours a day for McGill and squeeze in a royal tour somehow, she disappeared.
I ended up sticking around for a year or two more here and became friendly with some great girls along the way. One of my favourites told me that I killed the fantasy that exisited within the fandom... that there was this fun in believing maybe someone with connections to the royals may actually be posting here. The thing is, I think it's very possible someone with an actual connection was/is posting in this fandom (I mean, if Arthur Landon could find us...) but anyone in that position would never give personal info and reveal secrets as those blogs did. If anything, I think that keeps the fantasy even more ubiquitous. Royals! Aristos! Daily Mail contributors! They could be anywhere! They could be sending you an anon as you read this!

The Interconnectedness of Abiotic and Biotic Components in the Environment - Blog 9
This fall allowed me to connect deeply with nature, emotionally and physically. I've explored new areas around my home in Kingston, Ontario, such as South Frontenac, Ontario. I've been able to hike, listen to birds, identify plants, and enjoy the Gould Lake Conservation Area waterfront. Since you aren't here in person with me to explore the grounds of this conservation area, I've decided to take you through a virtual walk to discuss the most amazing thing I know about nature: the interconnectedness of abiotic and biotic things in the environment and the benefits of nature interpretation to humans.
To start with the latter point, I've discovered how versatile nature interpretation can be this fall and which form of nature interpretation works best for me. I'm currently using one method of nature interpretation to connect with you, fellow bloggers, an online social media platform, and the use of words and images to portray my thoughts. While I was interpreting nature by myself, I used my phone to identify bird calls and local plants using various applications, proving how technology can be beneficial in nature interpretation. For this blog, I will take you along the Tom Dixon trail, known as Trail 7, at Gould Lake Conservation Area, one of many conservation areas managed and monitored by the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority (Cataraqui Conservation, 2023a). The main goal of the conservation authority is to ensure that the aquatic environment, including water quality and the health of aquatic organisms, is protected while also allowing community members to utilize the natural terrestrial and aquatic spaces through outdoor recreation such as hiking, swimming, boating, bird watching and more! The abiotic water environment supports various biotic organisms, ranging from plants to fish to turtles and more (Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority, 2017)! Water also is an essential resource for humans, and we benefit from the natural processes that occur in areas like lakes that provide us with potable water.
Tumblr media
Figure 1. The Barn at Gould Lake Conservation Area.
As we pull into the parking lot of the conservation area, we will pass the barn where onsite nature interpretation is offered to the community, mainly for children from local elementary and high schools. The barn holds lessons on the area's history, the species present, and outdoor stewardship. Interpreters also teach students more about outdoor recreation during summer programs, which can allow children to learn about man-powered boats, swimming, and camping.
Tumblr media
Figure 2. The Entrance to Tom Dixon Trail.
The Tom Dixon trail is located to the right of the beach and runs along the waterfront of Gould Lake itself, a natural, mesotrophic lake that supports various fish and turtle species (Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority, 2017). Eutrophication is low in this lake, and the water's temperature gradients allow nutrients to get cycled frequently to support the fish and plant species in the lake (Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority, 2017). Trout and bass species are most common in this lake and benefit from the cooler temperatures of the water to support their reproduction and lives (Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority, 2017). A wooden dock and picnic table allow nature observers to swim in the lake or observe nature! Walking along the trails managed by the Rideau Trail Association shows the beautiful, naturally produced trails covered with networks of tree roots covered in pine needles and fallen, colourful leaves due to the season: fall (Cataraqui Conservation, 2023b)! This location is prime in the fall with the array of colourful foliage and leaf fall. As this area is located in the Canadian Shield, a rolling topography creates deep depressions that have filled with water to convert into lakes, and formed high peaks that are now densely populated with diverse tree species (Walter et al., 2022). The trail is dominated by white birch, American elm, and sugar maples. Beside the forested areas are coastline environments with large rocks along the shoreline and coarse-grained sandy beaches (Gillespie et al., 1966).
Tumblr media
Figure 3. The Dock and Picnic Table Along the Trail.
Various abandoned mica mines can be seen throughout the trail, and mica remnants are scattered along the trails that glisten in the sunlight. Due to micas' heat tolerant properties, mica mining was completed to provide materials for woodstove windows and lanterns in this area (Amazing Places, 2016). The Canadian Shield also provides many minerals, making it an ideal location for mining and explains why there are many glistening rocks along the side of the trail (Gillespie et al., 1966). This location on the trail highlights humans' relationship with the environment, as humans have utilized the earth's resources for innovation, which can have benefits but has also led to the exploitation of resources in other situations.
Tumblr media
Figure 4. Mica Remnants on Trail.
This area, with the vast forested areas and an aquatic component, supports many different species and highlights the complex linkages between abiotic and biotic things in our environment. Together, these things intertwine to create a beautiful landscape that supports the well-being of humans mentally, emotionally, and physically. To make this area even more beautiful, we have the beauty of fall, which includes the shedding of leaves, and bright colours ranging from yellows to reds and greens. Though we may not always realize that the environment and earth have so many beings and processes occurring without us noticing, all things are intertwined and can benefit each other. Therefore, if you ever feel alone, go into nature to breathe in fresh air and connect with the earth and the organisms, and you will never feel alone.
Tumblr media

Thank you for joining me on this virtual tour of Gould Lake Conservation Area in South Frontenac, Ontario and reading my thoughts about the beauty of the relationships between humans and abiotic and biotic aspects in the environment!

“Ramadan falls during the ninth month of the Muslim calendar, officially beginning and ending with the appearance of the crescent moon. This is a time of spiritual contemplation, fasting, prayer, and charitable giving for Muslims, who will gather with family and friends in the evening to break their day-long fast with iftar. The meal follows the sunset prayer and offers an opportunity to reflect on the values of compassion, gratitude, and generosity at the heart of Ramadan.

“I Am YEG Arts” Series: Mike Lundy
Tumblr media
There are no days more full than the ones we look back on. That understanding of nostalgia is something Mike Lundy knows better than most. For more than six years, he and his partner, Brittni, have been reaching into the past for the inspiration behind their Canadian apparel line, Flannel Foxes. Though Lundy’s design may borrow unabashedly from the past, his mandate for the business reflects what he values today: creating ethically made, socially conscious goods that celebrate the place he calls home—beautiful Western Canada.
Designer, collaborator, and big fan of good folks—this week’s “I Am YEG Arts” story belongs to Mike Lundy.
Tell us about your connection to Edmonton and why you’ve made it your home.
I never pictured Edmonton being my home. I moved here for school to study design at MacEwan, and as Edmonton grew on me, my roots here grew deeper. It’s Canada’s biggest small town, with a welcoming warmth and community that makes me feel at home.
How did Flannel Foxes come to be, and where do you hope to take it next?
My partner, Brittni, actually started Flannel Foxes with her friend. What began as a blog was re-imagined as a clothing brand, and then when I got involved in 2016, we developed the visual identity and apparel. For the last six years we’ve been exploring Canada West, finding inspiration and reflecting it in our clothing.
Looking forward, we plan to continue to expand our range of gear, to collaborate with good folks, and to hopefully do some good for our community in the process.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You describe your apparel as “durable and ethically made in Canada (whenever possible) with partners that treat their people right.” Why was that essential to your brand, and what about that has proven the greatest reward?
Our brand celebrates Canada and the wonderful people who call this land home. We can’t honestly do that without commemorating the craft and skill of Canadian manufacturers. That’s why 100% of our gear is made in Canada. Our investments stay in the community, and as a reward we get to develop long-term relationships with our manufacturers.
What is the creative process like for you? Where do you usually begin?
The inspiration for Flannel Foxes designs comes from a place of nostalgia. Brittni and I visit antique malls and shops, getting a creative spark from old shirts, hats, travel brochures, maps, and even tractor manuals. Once we have our inspiration, the design process starts. I draw, push pixels, and work with our manufacturers until I have a collection that reflects the nostalgic mood that we’re targeting.
How important has collaboration been to your career, and why are you drawn to it?
Other people do a whole lot of cool things. When we work together, we can make something new—a crossover between two people or brands that is more than the sum of its parts. Collaboration in the context of Flannel Foxes has given us opportunities to work with our favourite brands, restaurants, and even CBC!
Tumblr media
When you’re taking a break from a project, what will we likely find you doing?
I like to cook, and sometimes my personal social media feeds look more like a food blogger’s than a designer’s. If I’m not working, chances are I’m making some food.
How have you grown as an artist/designer throughout your career. What’s been the biggest change, and what’s stayed the same?
I’ve experienced a lot of the different facets of visual design. I started out designing a lot of websites, worked as an art director at an ad agency, and have freelanced doing brand and packaging design. I love learning new skills, and I think all that experience changed me, giving me a holistic approach to design.
What has stayed the same? I still really get a kick out of designing.
Who’s someone inspiring you right now?
I love the work that Jessica Nepton-Chaye is doing with Copper Cherry. She’s making beautiful bags and backpacks right here in Edmonton. Her dedication to craft and quality is remarkable!
Tell us about what you’re currently working on or hoping to explore next.
We’re working on a few collaborations with folks that mean a lot to us and to Edmonton. Keep your eyes peeled and you’ll see what I mean!
When you think YEG arts, what are the first three things, people, or places that come to mind?
The Royal Bison Art & Craft Fair. They’ve created a place where Edmonton’s artists and designers can showcase their weird and wonderful creations.
MacEwan. It’s where I learned my craft and developed roots in the Edmonton arts community.
The murals. I love the murals and street art across Edmonton. A couple of my faves are the giant Mr. Cenz piece on the back of The Monolith and Jill Stanton’s mural on the Varscona.
Want more YEG Arts Stories? We’ll be sharing them here all year and on social media using the hashtag #IamYegArts. Follow along! Click here to learn more about Mike Lundy, Flannel Foxes, and to shop their apparel.

Mike moved to Edmonton in 2007 after growing up in northern Brazil, and is grateful to have this wonderful city as home, even if he’s not quite used to the winters.

The 10 best book blogs of 2023
The 10 best book blogs of 2023
Amazon Book Review This book blog topped Scribendi's 2020 list, and it's easy to see why. It's probably the most comprehensive book blog out there for contemporary works, and it covers all kinds of genres. The Editors' Picks seem to have something for everybody. All of this booky goodness is presented on a bright, easy-to-navigate website. There are even celebrity picks, where "celebrity" encompasses not only film and TV stars but also athletes, musicians, and authors. I must say that this online book store blog also tops my list when it comes to what's hot off the press and for its sheer variety.
John Pistelli If you're not concerned about hot topics and current events and are just looking for a good read, then this is the site for you. John Pistelli is a professor at the University of Minnesota and holds a Ph.D. in English literature. He has also published several works of fiction and poetry. His website used to buy books online review every week or so, and his choices are anchored in his personal interests, which center on classic and contemporary fiction. Take a look at his review index for a ton of books to choose from, each with his thoughtful and artful opinions and musings. He covers novels, nonfiction, poetry, drama, and comics, and he even throws in some commercial fiction for good measure. What also caught my eye is his "lifetime reading list," which includes titles you'd expect to be recommended by an English professor—but also some surprises.
Literary Hub This book blog has everything you need to keep up to date with the literary world, plus some news and culture on the side. In addition to its numerous resources for both reading and writing, what caught my attention is its "Book Marks" section. Similar to what "Rotten Tomatoes" does for movies, "Book Marks" compiles book reviews from magazines, newspapers, and websites and averages them into a score of "Rave," "Positive," "Mixed," or "Pan." You can also leave your own comments and reviews. Literary Hub is also a great site for finding your next favorite book-related podcast.
49th Shelf This site calls itself "the largest collection of Canadian books on the Internet." No kidding! The site is extremely comprehensive but also very easy to navigate. There's something for everyone, and you can sign up for free to contribute your own reviews, comments, and book ratings.
The Broadcast (by Reedsy) If you like reading lists, you'll love this book blog. From "10 Exciting New Books From Up -and-Coming Authors" to the "40 Best Spy Novels of All Time," you're sure to find a list that interests you. Moreover, it's easy to get lost in their articles on a wide variety of book -related topics.
A Life in Books Blogger Susan Osborne has worked in book sales and as a writer and magazine editor. Her book blog is simple and crisp. Susan provides thoughtful reviews and arranges books into unique categories, such as "Five Books I've Read," where she groups books in fives according to different themes, and "Six Degrees of Separation," where she links seemingly disparate books in clever ways.
The Orangutan Librarian This blog stands out not only for its unique name and concept but also for its color and charming sketches here and there. Books are rated using a five-banana rating system and are accompanied by thoughtful—and, at times, philosophical—reviews. The Orangutan also invites comments. There are intriguing lists like "Books that Gave Me a Hangover" and "Forgettable Books—Books I Can't Remember…Though I Definitely Read Them (I Think)."
Vilma Iris Vilma Iris Gonzalez is an "internationally renowned book blogger and USA Today blog columnist" whose focus is on commercial fiction for a female audience. She markets lifestyle, home, and beauty, but it's clear her heart is in books. Her site is smart and modern.
From First Page to Last What caught my eye about this blog, besides its stylish simplicity and plethora of reviews, were its unique categories like "Under the Reader's Radar – Celebrating the Quiet Novel" and "Spotlight on Publishers." You're likely to spot a gem.
Readability Reading Fleur Morrison's blog feels like chatting about books with a best friend. She's honest, thoughtful, funny, and engaging. I was pulled in by her accounts of her struggles with Dostoyevsky and stayed to read about her postHarry Potter blues. Conclusion Thanks for reading The 21 Best Book Blogs of 2021! Whatever your fancy may be, I'm confident you'll find some great new books to dive into. If you're an aspiring author yourself, be sure to check our website bookpadho.ezyro.com Our editors are experts at polishing prose to make it shine all the brighter. Moreover, if you're ready to pitch your book, can also help you create a query package. There's no time like the present to chase your dreams. Have a Good Day!
