Cannes Film Festival 2022 Wrap-Up

The Cannes Film Festival has wrapped up and there are some big names that premiered films and some big names that won awards.

One of our favorite filmmakers David Cronenberg premiered his new film Crimes Of The Future, starring Kristen Stewart, Lea Seydoux, and Viggo Mortensen. We didn't get a chance to see the premiere but we have heard from friends who went that this is going to be a doozy.

Unfortunately, however, Crimes Of The Future and David Cronenberg did not win like we were hoping. But so many other great filmmakers got highlighted.

Here is the full list of winners at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival:

My #IndieFilm Succor Forlorn keeps getting invited to several Film Festivals ON THE DAILY, and since the end of April, it KEEPS WINNING. So far, my film won 6 Festivals, and was chosen as an “Official Selection” in 3 more this morning. I was also invited to submit my film to the Cannes Film Awards Festival which is coming up soon! My film also caught the eye of Festivals in esteemed locations in Italy including Florence, Milan, Malta, Rome. My film is booked up in over 60+ Festivals until 2023, and I currently signed 2 Contract deals.

I will be looking into other distribution & marketing options by the end of the year, however, I’m currently VERY happy with the services I have already contracted with currently, so I might not need to. My film will also be streaming soon on the Paus App. 

My email inbox, and twitter DMs, r kind of nuts lately! Sometimes I can’t handle it. I need to look into getting an agent, a manager, more in depth stuff about marketing, and I might do some pitch stuff. I’m not totally sure. It’s all up in the air. I just hope that moving forward more good stuff might come out of this.

My Film tends to do EXCEPTIONALLY WELL in the Experimental Film category for obvious reasons, but I also won an award for Best Short Animation. I’ve also had a number of very special invitations to screen my film at some upcoming Festivals that don’t even have my specific type of film categories, and lets just say THESE were VERY GENEROUS INVITATIONS & OFFERS.

I’ve just been so screwed over, or misunderstood my WHOLE LIFE since I entered thew work force after college, or even the process of JUST trying to graduate. So, it was so different to have people approach me, get scouted, and invited to submit my film. It’s like I have “Imposter Syndrome” in my head and I’m like: IS THIS REAL??? AM I being PRANKED??? Are people just being kind to me? Do they ACTUALLY like my film???

Then, next thing I know, I’m getting invited to the Cannes Awards Film Festival! WHAT??? CANNES! Like, THAT IS CRAZY!!!! I guess I must’ve done SOMETHING RIGHT! Like, LET THAT SINK IN! The Festival IN CANNES stumbled across my LITTLE FILM and they’re like: HEY! We would like to invite you to SUBMIT YOUR FILM to be screened at our Awards Festival. IN CANNES! I was hyper ventilating, and nearly blacked out!

I NEVER thought my work COULD EVER be good enough for CANNES, and yet, THERE THEY WERE: Like, HEY! We like your film! Come join us! OMG! I was very surprised when Hollywood Blvd invited me, and they were VERY insistent that I submit to THEM. Which STILL just is so shocking to me!

HOLY COW! I made a film, that Hollywood Blvd LOVED and gave me an award for, AND NOW its gonna be at the CANNES Awards Film Festival??? And, the art world hubs in Italy all want my film??? Like, WHO DOES THAT??? Well, apparently I DO. WHAT??? IS THIS REAL???
