"Ow, Why are you here? For a job or to have sex with another guy for tuition fee haha." I feel annoyed. "I don't care loser! hahaha, your cock is smaller than Rindou!" He rolled his eyes and he stand up in the table. "Madam this girl i want her how much her?" My madam said. "Sir but this girl is singer in my club not a whore but how much?" As they walked up the stairs, Sanzu couldn't stop. He immediately lifted Y/n to the master bedroom and threw it and climbed up as if Sanzu was at the top and Y/n was at the bottom. "When I first saw you I wanted to fuck you, this night im feeling bless." I asked him why he wanted to fuck me. "You are beautiful." "Are you sure Haru?" He said. "I'm sure baby." Y/N POV: When he first kissed me on the lips go to my neck and down to my waist, I was immediately shaking just kissing what Sanzu did to me, he was different from Rin, he was even better, while he deeply kissed me his hand is in my pussy he wants to play with and he rotates his finger on my pussy wft I'm wet. When I came out, Sanzu licked my pussy. he played with his tongue my pussy up and down I'm very tired because of the excessive lust. He's even better than Rindou. When he finished playing with my pussy, Sanzu stood up. "Baby, Put your toe on my shoulder, Promise I'll be gentle." I nod. "What f*cking a big-" I screamed because Sanzu was when he inserted his cock in my pussy and I have a bad feeling that I won't be able to walk tomorrow.
"You said that you wouldn't be surprised by the school because of the pain and then I scratched you." He laughed. "Sorry baby, Does it still hurt? If I continue, it won't hurt anymore." I nod. "I'm ready now Haru."While he was taking his cock out of my pussy, it was very painful because his cock was so big that it was even bigger than Rindou's cock. I screamed every time his cock came in because it was so big that I hugged him and said the word "I love you." "I can't hear you baby, what did you say?" I screamed again. "I love you! A-hh I-im c-comi-ng b-baby! O-hh... A~aahh ouch f*ck my pussy it's hurts..Stop it a~hhh shi~t A~hhh baby...I like you Haru." He smiles. "Hmm... You like me?but your boyfriend is Rindou not me." He continues to fuck me. "I'm cumming Y/n say AHHHHH." I immediately gasped when Sanzu said that. He swallowed his semen on me and it was disgusting but it was necessary because it was my job to make my client happy."f*ck baby you're good enough i hope you are my girlfriend." He smiles and he kiss me on my lips. "But i'm worry about me, what if he torturing me or try to kill me? I feel nervous." He smile again. "No one can hurt you." I smile. I don't know why I feel this way about Sanzu, He's so kind to me he even managed to make me happy tonight. We fell asleep of course we were both naked and the next day I woke up but Haru was no longer beside me I couldn't walk properly I sat on the sofa and I saw Sanzu wearing only a shirt and boxer shorts while preparing breakfast. "Oh, you are awake. here breakfast its almost done." I immediately sat down and stood next to him, I couldn't focus on my food but i look at his lips I was just surprised that I kissed him on the lips. "Why did you kiss me, we haven't finished eating yet." This is embarrassing ever in my life. "hahaha bleh, Are you going to school now?""Yep, So I'm coming in because we have a group research project, I hope we can be a group mate." He kissed me again on my forehead and i smiles and the breakfast was resumed.

Hey. It's @reaux07. If you remember my last angry history rant on Paul Robeson, I'm back for Part 2. This time? King Leopold II and his relationship to the Congo. I just finished writing a 5-page, single-spaced essay on this for class, so I'll do my best to summarize in bullet points this time rather than chunky paragraphs. This will still be long though, as a warning, but it's a necessary read. Please let me get through this, because y'all know this hurts to write.
Trigger warnings for... just about everything typically associated with mass colonization (e.g. rape, murder, torture, etc.). Tiktok below as a brief introduction first:
King Leopold II of Belgium, due to his personal unpopularity and lack of love from his parents, had low self-esteem. As his father had already made 50 attempts to colonize foreign lands to no avail, Leopold felt the only way to uplift both himself and his country was to take take control of his own colony.
He checked Sarawak, the New Hebrides, the Fiji Islands, and the Philippines. Nothing. But what was left? The Congo.
How did he learn of the Congo? Leopold hired Henry Morton Stanley, a famous Welsh explorer of the time, to cross Africa from east to west, walking and canoeing 7,000 miles.
Upon the Congo's discovery, Leopold turned his palace into a luxury hotel for the delegates of a new conference to discuss Africa's colonization, supervising every detail. He successfully lied to the major powers of Europe, making claims of charitable and philanthropic aims, and that there would be free trade amongst the African colonies. (And yes, he did give every single attendee a painting of his face... Because he could.)
Meanwhile, back in the Congo, Stanley (the explorer I just mentioned) used bribes and trickery to provide official treaties with the various chiefs of the land in case Leopold ever needed legal proof of land ownership. (Ex of said trickery: One report noted that a village assumed "the white man controlled the sun.")
In 1891 and 1892, Leopold released decrees stating that both vacant land and produce of the forests exclusively belonged to Belgium and that natives could only harvest for the state.
Enforcing Leopold’s rule were 16,000 Africans equipped with modern Belgian-made automatic rifles.
Outing Attempt #1: One African American man, George Washington Williams, during his trip compiled a report to be sent to the American secretary of state. In this letter, Williams remembers bets being taken on who could shoot the native people in the head first, among other instances of vile treatment. While the document never made it back to Williams’ home country, it was eventually found in Europe where he later died.
By this point, the Congo was actually ruining Leopold’s finances and he was growing desperate. But to his surprise, he happened to pick the one spot where rubber grew in abundance, just as the demand for cars and bicycles rose internationally, John Dunlop, a Scottish veteran, having just invented the first pneumatic tire.
Because of this, rubber-prominent areas were the targets of mass exploitation and punishment if daily and weekly rubber quotas were not met.
Missionaries began to write not just to one another, but back home in disgust of these aforementioned “punishments,” one man’s writings put in missionary magazines and national newspapers in Europe. These punishments included rape, tying people up to trees, cutting off men's heads and genitals to be displayed along the fences of Congolese villages, cutting women’s breasts off, and most notably...
Attempt #2: The world, if only momentarily, saw BASKETS after BASKETS of right hands that had been cut off as proof that each of the cartridges given to the Africans had been fired and killed one of their own people. These hands were then smoked for preservation and brought back to their officers.
What did Leopold do once this information came out alongside photos of child mutilation? Acknowledge the abuses and moved on almost immediately.
In Europe, the rubber was processed in a city called Antwerp, ironically named after a mythological giant who also cut off hands. To this day, the connection between such a name and Belgian history has not been made by the general public as countless documents by the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs are kept secret to maintain an image of untouched royalty.
One commissioner in charge of a district in Congo, Leon Fievez, produced one ton of rubber a day, boasting of 1,000 people killed, 162 villages destroyed, burning gardens and plantations so people would starve, and having “only” used 3,000 cartridges. He was nicknamed the “Devil of the Equator” and rightly so.
Attempt #3: One day, a man named Charles Stokes, a British trader working for the Germans, entered the picture. Stokes was arrested for trading in state territory, despite those former claims of free trade, and sentenced to death. Leopold was forced to pay compensation to both Britain and Germany for his death, both countries now increasingly aware of the Congo’s dark reality.
To cover it up, Leopold made claims of the Congo opening up to new companies. Let's be real: His men were on the boards of all these new companies and he took 50% of the profits.
In particular were these "concession companies" where the "hostage system" was set up. Agencies, with official hostage licenses authorizing such, would take the wives of rubber collectors for up to 15 days until the quota was met.
On the 15th day, the men of the Congo either got their wives back or faced further punishment, often death. For the agents, the 15th day meant it was time to calculate commissions, and for the king? It was proof that this new hostage system worked.
These abusive concession companies lasted over 10 years until formal competition arose in South America and Asia.
Attempt #4: Then came Edmund Dene Morel, a half-French, self-taught shipping clerk turned investigative journalist who wrote in The Speaker of the abuses faced by the Congolese, backed up by evidence, not just speculations.
Due to Morel’s growing specialization in West African affairs, he was able to not only send out 15,000 brochures and 3,700 letters in six months after his move to Wales, but start his own newspaper, West African Mail.
By 1903, Roger Casement, an ally to Morel’s cause, spent two months traveling the upper Congo, recording African testimonies. He, too, realized that missionaries were key witnesses and went to visit Joseph Clark (a missionary of 20 years) for 17 days.
Through these reports, which grew to 50 pages in length, Casement and Morel were able to solidify Belgium as perpetuating the worst colonial system Africa had ever known. Punishments included Africans performing public incest for the colonists' entertainment, decapitation, women being stabbed with wooden spikes up their vaginas, and one woman tied up to a tree and slashed straight in half from her left shoulder through her abdomen and out the other side.
The West African Mail even reported on a part of Congo no one knew existed, private property within private property called the “Crown Domain” on the other side of Lake Tumba, which gained 231 million euros alone, all sent directly to King Leopold II. Crown Domain was 10x 5)3 size of Belgium.
Founded by Morel, Liverpool became the headquarters of a coalition called the Congo Reform Association. He also published a book called Red Rubber (1906). I think you’ll find the cover particularly striking! Check out the hand in the bottom right corner being weighed against King Leopold II on the left.
Tumblr media
Leopold obviously not having this, commissioned a number of books and monthly magazines to clear up the mess. This didn't work. Obviously.
He even tried to send his own international commission to control what the Congolese said in 1904, to no avail. This was due to a missionary named John Harris who had taken the accounts of various people in the area and sent them back to Morel.
In one particularly heartbreaking moment, a chief brought to Leopold’s judges 110 twigs for each of the entire villages, not just people, killed by the Belgian state, naming every last one.
By the time they returned to Europe, the governor-general committed suicide and, upon being asked, Harris suggested Leopold should be sent to the gallows by the relatively new International Court of Justice.
The commission's report vindicated Casement and Morel. Leopold had tricked no one. EVERYONE in Belgium was calling him out.
Leopold ordered all of the Congo State Records to be burned.
In 1908, the Congo became a Belgian colony, not longer Leopold’s personal property. The state still made claims of "civilizing" the Africans after Leopold's death though, utilizing the leftover mineral exploitation industry with no guilt.
At least during his funeral, which he was denied of having privately, the entire city booed his body <3 well deserved. By this point, he had become Europe’s most hated man of the time.
And in case you were wondering, Casement and Morel were both accused to pro-German sympathies during WWI and executed.
I would like to add more detail but I think I’ve hit a character limit. Just know that Congo’s population was cut in HALF, in some places as much as 60-90%. Villages after villages were burned, as shown through so many soldiers’ and missionaries’ journals. This was a genocide of over 10 MILLION PEOPLE y’all. Hearing this story was truly SICKENING, but here’s the BBC 4 documentary we watched for class for more: Congo: White King, Red Rubber, and Black Death.
What truly gets me is just how OTHER colonizers were calling this man out after finding out the full truth… For me, that feels like extra proof of how truly messed up this was if THEY were disturbed too.
And what feels truly insidious was how Leopold made sure to institutionalize all of his wrongdoings and was so… obviously knowing about every wrongdoing, I mean writing in letters to make sure no one else found out. Please…

Happy Black History Month.

𝓖𝓸𝓸𝓭 𝓭𝓪𝔂,
this is for the redacted boy matchups!!
UHMMM my name’s amber, im a cat person i love cars and i have unnecessary beef with Lasko just cuz he reminds me so much of myself
I was born and raised in the Philippines ^_^, i speak 3 languages currently
this is such a halfassed introduction im so sorry SO HAPPY TO BE HEREE ok
1. What song are you fixated on at the moment? What lyric or verse, and why?
- Just the entirety of ‘A letter to my 13 yr old self’ by laufey but instead it’s dedicated to my friends
“Baby, know that
You’ll grow up and grow so touch and charming
Write your stories, fall in love a little too
The things you thought you’d never do”
- Every time I listen to this, I always think of them and what they’ve confided in me with, I grieve with them and just wish I could have been there to shield them from it :3
2. Do you love gargantuan Youtube video essays, and if so, which is your favorite and why?
- When it comes to longggg video essays , I usually lean towards topics that I’m already fond/familiar of so that i remain interested and focused (current interests like the mandela catalogue :D or political affairs going on in the world, or true crime)
- Dunno if it counts for a video essay but i once finished watching a 4 hour senate hearing….in one sitting
3. What is your go-to way to fall asleep?
- I often do have to take melatonin cuz sometimes there’s too much happening up there—>🧠 and i struggle to fall asleep
- asmr videos (i like the ones made by small creators cuz the rest are too predictable)
- or i have a playlist for sleeping and i usually put that on very low volume on a speaker
- I also can’t sleep without hugging something but it CANT be a person, has to be…..a pillow…or a stuffed animal
4. What is your favorite of Redacted’s audios, and why?
- i only listen to the ‘don’t hang up’ halloween audio like maybe 12 times a day? For the past 4 months or so :P
- I absolutely love the trope and i loveee the way that it was executed.
- I love the cadence of his voice in that audio, and something about his demeanour is soooooo🤗🤗the gravely voice and the dark laugh is to die for (he reminds me of David a tiny tiny bit)
-something about how protective these men are and how authoritative they can get (to a certain extent) just do it for me i dunno :3
-me 🤝distorted voice on the phone
- i also rlly like porter’s first video ^_^
5. What Redacted boy holds no appeal to you, and why? Like, not the one you hate but the one who you don’t get the hype for. (I won’t judge, I promise.)
- blake? Kody?
- Blake i find has very realistic ‘yandere’ qualities and that makes him more creepy for me
- Kody is very self-explanatory
6. Which Redacted boy are you platonically attracted to? Like- forget dating, which dude do you want to be your best friend?
- GUUUUUYYYYYYYY or asher >_<
- These are men that I am so confident I would never catch feelings for cuz we’re very similar in a way
- I don’t tend to gravitate towards people that I share similarities with? I’m more interested in people that are the opposite (so i feel like in terms of romantic attachments, I get along with those types of people really well)
7. Do you have a go-to thing you ramble about when you’re tired, and if so, what is it? (For example, my boyfriend knows I’m ready to sleep when I start talking about space.)
- i feel like im not answering the question properly but when i ramble (which I do a lot) i sort of don’t stick to one topic
- I don’t know anything about anything so I usually ramble about one thing and then move on with another topic
- (halfway thru typing i just realized what this is actually asking) but when im tired that’s when I actually stop talking for once :D
8. Tell me about your favorite playlist at the moment.
- i have a playlist full of filipino songs because I currently live in Canada and i am soooo homesick, also doesn’t help that I haven’t really met any other filipinos (outside of immediate family members) :(
- there’s also another which is just full of songs released in the 1900’s, not only do i enjoy listening to old-school songs, i was also raised by old people so these type of songs basically defined my childhood.
9. What’s your guilty pleasure media, and why?
- Boyfriend asmr >_<
- Maybe fanfics of fictional characters???
- I’m especially partial to yandere stuff…cuz…idk i wish i knew
- Also cupcakke (i’ve put her on shuffle and managed to complete a big assignment in one sitting so thats my queen)
10. Tell me about that one book/movie/tv show you know all the words to.
- it would be the Haunting of Bly Manor (horror, suspense, romance, drama?)
- GAY PPL CAN NEVER BE HAPPY RAGHHH
- Definitely my favorite ‘horror’ series
- It’s special to me because I find a lot of horror media to be…just very hard to enjoy since gore and jumpscares don’t really do it for me
- Haunting of Bly Manor stands out from the rest of horror movies/series because the storytelling is immaculate, characters are complex (and you actually feel the loss when they get killed off unlike others), and the pacing is perfect
- It reads like a fairytale and a bedtime story, and given the plot, it might as well be a love story too
- There’s so many figurative/metaphorical occurrences that i can break down and unpack and thats why I find it enjoyable: its thought-provoking and just the right amount of scary
- It also has that ‘gothic’ aura to it that i ABSOLUTELY LOVE
11. Tell me your go-to gas station and drink combo.
- idk about gas station but i like chocolate milk more than anything else
12. As for the enneasgram (i cant spell) test thingy….i can’t do it cuz it’s making me pay…BUT! I do know my MBTI personality thing is..INFP…or ISTJ…idk it kinda changes everytime i do it
That is all. You have 2 hours. /j🤗
I hope this is enough info (i also hope it’s not too much :D) and im not even sure im answering them right 😖 but regardless I enjoyed myself. You’re so awesome for doing stuff like this i cant wait im gnawing at my enclosures rn.
Tumblr media
This was a hard one to consider- I wanted to take into account your attraction to people who contrast you while also finding someone similar enough that I feel they’d be compatible. In my heart, in my gut, this left Sam.
In a few ways, you have significant things in common. You’re both introverts. You’d like the same music, given Sam’s age, and you’d have the same taste in horror (which is very important if you ask my boyfriend and I. Crucial, even.). Yet, in fun and cute ways, you differ. Sam’s a dog person. Sam doesn’t get your love of yanderes, cars, or true crime. (So he says. He’s the type of DILF where he walks in on you watching a true crime documentary and just stands there, refusing to sit down.)
Just as he deserves, your life together with Sam would be so peaceful; he’s a peace and quiet kind of guy, you know? I’m imagining a cabin in the woods, a cat and a dog because y’all would make them get along, long drives in his ancient truck that amazingly still runs only because he fixes it by hand. I’m thinking of movie nights where Sam mother-hens you and rations the sugary, junk food snacks y’all get for it because he has to take care of his human and make sure you get a balanced diet.
Song:
On a lonely highway stuck out in the rain/ Darlin' all I have to do is speak your name/ The clouds roll back and the waters part/ The sun starts shinin' in my heart for you/ You're right there in everything I do
It’s not a creative take, but I think Sam loves country music; I think he’s a man of taste! It reminds me, and therefore him, of all the fun, nostalgic parts of home! Does he love this particular country song? I’m not sure, but one, it makes me think of Sam carrying you and your love with him wherever and whenever he goes in his immortal life. Two, it literally uses the term “darlin’” in it, okay, that’s a sign. That’s a done deal.
Runner-ups:
Damien is a runner-up because you see a lot of yourself in Lasko and you like people that contrast you. This is actually derivative of a ship I like quite a lot; I thought Damien/Lasko had this wonderful two sides of the same coin dynamic before HuxDami became canon. Vincent is your other runner-up because his extroverted nature is so fun opposite your introversion, but you’d still bond a lot over a mutual love of cars.
note: if you love horror movies without jumpscares or gore, I cannot recommend “They Look Like People” enough. It’s quite literally my favorite.
Read this post and send me an ask if you’d like a match-up of your own! 💌

TOM'S Corolla Turbo
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The TOM'S Corolla Turbo project in 1999 was a notable effort by TOM'S Japan to bring its high-performance tuning expertise to the Southeast Asian market, particularly the Philippines. By collaborating with Kilton Motors, TOM'S aimed to enhance the Toyota Corolla Altis, a popular sedan, to compete directly with the Honda Civic SiR, which was a favorite among car enthusiasts.
Key Features and Components
Aero Kit and Turbo Unit: The project included a stylish aero kit and a bolt-on turbo unit designed to boost both appearance and performance.
Components and Fabrication: Various off-the-shelf Toyota parts, like the turbo and intercooler, were utilized to keep costs down. Custom components included a welded tubular stainless steel turbo manifold and downpipe, aluminum intercooler piping, and a 3-inch mild steel exhaust.
ECU Tuning: TOM'S used its own programmable ECU for tuning, achieving an estimated 150hp at the wheels.
Driving Experience and Performance
Test Vehicle: The test vehicle, equipped with the TOM'S kit, showcased a sporty bodykit with a hood scoop, front bumper air dam, and a tall rear wing. It also featured exclusive 15x7 alloy wheels.
Turbo Performance: The small turbo provided quick spooling and minimal lag, making the car very responsive. The engine's power delivery was strong, easily lighting up the front tires up to third gear.
Publicity Stunt: In a drag race event, the car, driven by actor and TOM'S works driver Jomari Yllana, reportedly achieved an 11+ second, 167kph run down the 1/8th mile.
Market Reception and Rarity
High Cost: The TOM'S package had a high price tag of around P160,000, in addition to the cost of the Corolla Altis, making it affordable only to a few.
Limited Sales: Despite the efforts to market the car, only a handful of body kits and four complete vehicles were sold. These vehicles are now considered rare, with some still believed to be in their original condition.
The TOM'S Corolla Turbo remains one of the fastest and most powerful Corollas ever sold by local dealers in the Philippines. While opinions on its aesthetics varied, its performance and rarity have cemented its status as a unique and notable part of automotive history in the region.

Can you please tell me more about the Burnham Family also love your art style!
(I'm glad to!)
This is Mella Burnham and her younger sister, Eleanor Burnham.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mella was born in a large wealth family. When I say large, I mean, LARGE. Her father's side of the family grew wealthy and have large connections through the Philippines, their home country. Mella had lost her sister and mother due to an incident involving a crash and a drive by shooting. Eleanor was supposed to get her silhouette suit just like Mella yet unfortunately passed away beforehand.
Mella and Eleanor had a very sweet sister relationship in which Mella had been a role model to her youger sister, She learned everything she knew from her mother and wanted to pass down her knowledge to her sister. Their parents are usually busy at times when work comes along so Mella had not mind that she would be in charge of watching over her sister, in fact, she loved those times where they played together and laughed. She would sometimes tag Eleanor along when her and her friends wanted to play outside. She loved her sister dearly, Which was why she had given herself the name 'Melancholy' the day she watched her sister's life fade away in her arms.
This is her mother, --------- Burnham
Tumblr media
Mrs. Burnham was a kind and gentle woman, Mella had inherited a lot of her genes. She would teach her daughters about how to cook or bake and teach them how to be independent. She taught them kindness and to be open to others. She was what everything child wished for as a mother, In addition, her side of the family is where Mella inherited her 'silhouette suit' due to Mrs. Burnham's great great grandmother getting the same powers/curse of the silhouette suit just like Grandfather and Father. This was passed down to every maternal generation through the years and Mella just happened to be one of them.
Mrs. Burnham had been driving her daughters from school that day, Until a drive by passed and shot at the car she drove. Mrs. Burnham was caught by surprise so she wasn't at all prepared to use her powers at that moment leaving her daughters injured and in harm. She passed away that day along with her youngest daughter, Mella survived but was badly injured and traumatized by the incident. And till this day, She mourns their passing yet does her best to cope alongside her father.
This is her father, ---------- Burnham.
Tumblr media
Mr. Burnham was a wealthy businessman but this is far inferior to his role as a family man. How he loved his daughters with everything his heart could muster, He doted on them and would make time out of the day for them.
His family was sophisticated yet never really cared much about wealth so they dont much ctto like it unless it's business, They grew as a strong independent unit and would teach their young to fight and defend.
Mr. Burnham was hysterical the day of the incident came, He was there when his oldest daughter was in the hospital and kept her company without leaving her side. He went rouge and tried to hunt down the people that took his wife and child away, He managed to do so but he didn't harm them because of what he could think his daughter might say so his family took care of them whilst he stayed with his daughter throughout her recovery.
They both went through therapy and have been copying alongside each other ever since, He became protective of his daughter. Mr. Burnham feared of what may happen to her whenever he wasn't around but she would always assure him that she was capable of handling things on her own. He understood but still kept a good eye in case of what could happen, He still loved his daughter from the bottom of his heart and never stopped doing everything he can for her even if he was tired 24/7.
Edit: Mother is 32 , I made a typo at that part
(Thats all I have for now on the depth of the Burnham Family. All in all, They have a healthy relationship with each other, Only traumatized and scarred but still strong.)

Genuine question, do you actually like Houston or is it just your hometown?
it's a bit more nuanced than that tbh. i understand why it's losing that poll - it's an absolutely massive car-central sprawl where driving on the freeway feels like you're in mad max, it's hot and humid, there's no real seasons, and what used to be a 100 year flood is now an every other year flood. like many blue cities in the south, you're still stuck dealing with the whims of whatever republican pieces of shit that run your state come up with; i've been trying to get rid of them in texas my entire life, so every time this is used as a dunk i just feel tired. because houston is so much more than that.
it's the most diverse city in the country. there are people from everywhere, from all classes and walks of life, and they bring their culture and hopes and dreams with them, and it makes houston incredibly unique under the surface. you can get viet-cajun fusion food anywhere from a strip mall to fine dining. everyone has tamales for christmas. you can get jerk chicken from the same restaurant that you get authentic indian food. street signs are in 3 different languages, and those languages change depending on what part of town you're in. on the street i grew up on in a working class suburb, my family was the only white family - i had neighbors from the philippines and ghana, cajuns from louisiana that grew up speaking french, and a mexican family whose kids grew up my siblings' friends. my teachers in elementary and middle school were vietnamese nuns, who now get celebrated every time they go to astros games (sr. mary catherine, who throws the first pitch, was my math teacher in middle school)!
i once had my alternator die in the middle of a major intersection near downtown houston, just completely killed my car; my emergency lights wouldn't even come on it was so dead. in the hour span i was stuck there, i had 5-6 different groups of people stop and try to help me - a businessman with a suit and tie and cowboy boots, a mom with her kids in the car with her, a guy with a slab and swangas, a car full of construction workers and neither of us spoke each other's language but they helped me push my car to a parking lot anyway. i've had people help me change flat tires, jump my car, push it out of the road, and i've stopped to do all of that for people too. it's a big city, but there's a level of trust and friendliness among people in a bind there that i've never seen anywhere else i've lived. you'll never eat a meal alone, you'll never be lost. strangers will talk to you everywhere you go, especially if they can sense you're having a bad day. people are friendly and helpful and they will shatter your preconceived notions about who they are or where they're from.
houston isn't a tourist town- i get it, i can't imagine why someone would want to vacation there. and full disclosure, i moved away 5 years ago and now live in a smaller city that feels more comfortable to me in terms of scale. but i strongly believe that growing up somewhere so friendly, so proud of its diversity and so strengthened by it, so different from where the places where the rest of my extended family grew up - i don't think i'd be the same person i am now if i'd lived somewhere else. growing up in an environment where you're exposed to so many different people, so many different cultures, and they're all fundamentally your neighbors? i really believe that makes a difference and makes much more well rounded, compassionate, thoughtful citizens. i wouldn't trade the 28 years i spent there for anything.
also if you have access to watch parts unknown with anthony bourdain, he did an amazing episode on houston. even just the opening minute captures so much:

☆ the white lady of balete drive!
starring. . . feminine, white lady!reader and philippines. warning for vague mentions of death.
author notes; bit of an angsty piece tbh.. this was such an interesting ask thank you! i loved learning about the mythology and everything behind this! i tried to incorporate some actual tagalog into this piece, i hope it’s alright. also i was unsure of what name to use for the philippines so i just stuck with philip.
Tumblr media
“philip”!
— so much time had passed since your death— close to a century, no doubt— that you barely remembered the details of all that occurred that unfortunate night. you spent little time pondering it. all you knew is that your soul was tethered to this place and it would continue to be stuck there for centuries longer unless you found peace. peace could only come from satisfaction, and satisfaction could only come from saying a true goodbye to the ones you loved. that’s all your soul wanted.. a true goodbye.
— you had failed to remember the intricacies of your passing, but you managed to hold onto your memories of when you first met your eventual lover. he was a love that you never knew in life. only in death. philip, he called himself. you were standing on the side of your road, balete drive, your long white dress blowing gently with the soft winds of the night. a taxi came by and you eagerly waved it down, signaling that you’d like to drive somewhere. you were a younger spirit then, less somber. you were already well known as the white lady of balete street. fortunately, the taxi driver unlocked the doors instead of driving off. you told him where you’d like to go as you crawled into the car. on the inside, there he was. philip. even now, you remember clearly how dark it was and how his handsomeness was visible despite the fact.
— you gave your name and asked for his as the taxi driver started to pull off. he made a mishap, saying his name was philippines before correcting himself. ‘philip,’ he said. ‘just call me philip’. you giggled a little before smiling and complimenting his name. you had foolishly hoped that night to make it past balete drive. once you hit aurora boulevard though, you phased right through the seats and trunk of the taxi, like a ghost. reality hit you hard. the car kept driving on, leaving you behind, floating in the middle of the road. it was embarrassing and yet you had secretly known it would happen. it happened every time you tried to leave your street. you weren’t sure how you’d say goodbye to anyone at this rate..
— the next night you prepared yourself for round 579,457,216. not that you were really counting. a taxi came down the road, slowing down as it came closer to you despite the fact you hadn’t waved yet. perhaps the driver knew of you and your habits already. it came to a stop and you went to speak with the driver but their window remained rolled up. a young man stepped out  from the back seat. you turned, recognizing it as the man from before. “hey,” philip greeted you with a smile. in one hand was a phone and in the other, a food container. “i brought siapao*.”
— how he knew that you were fond of siapao would forever remain unknown. the two of you sat and ate, talking throughout the night about various things. it had been a while since you’d conversed so freely. it was just like you were human again. you and philip began to meet every other night, talking together. soon your meetings became a nightly routine. you had noticed the man never seemed to grow tired. still, it was all good fun. the two of you had grown close. closer.. and even closer still. philip had tried to kiss you one day, but he merely fell through you. his face hit the ground and you laughed it off, disappointed but not surprised at the fact that he couldn’t touch you. from then on the two of you were romantically involved. he’d sing with you some nights, show you everything the world had to offer on his phone, and occasionally bought you things knowing you couldn’t do much with them.. he was a boyfriend and after a while a sort of husband, but it was only nightly.
— that was all a long while ago. it had been decades since then and you were still trapped on balete drive. philip still came by every evening, your meetings still just as romantic. it was as though you two were kids, sneaking away under the guise of night to enjoy each other’s company. you hadn’t changed at all and neither had he— you had never asked about it though, assuming that he was similar to you. a spirit roaming amongst the living. it had been so long. so so long. physically, you hadn’t grown an inch. mentally, you had grown leaps and bounds. after years of boarding taxis in a desperate attempt to see your family, you eventually settled down into your spot. no longer would you flag down taxi drivers for rides. instead, you’d have them deliver small letters and packages for you. this would be your way of saying goodbye. it was hard to write so philip had agreed to write for you. you wrote many letters together, sending them out one by one until you finally felt satisfied. you had said everything you had to say, everything worth saying. well.. almosteverything.
— it was hard, extremely hard, knowing that you had to say goodbye to philip. he was the last person you had ties to on this realm. he came by balete drive, smiling like he always did. you smiled too, although yours was bittersweet. he sat down beside you and the two of you started to converse, just like you always did. after a little while, he let out a soft, content sigh. when you raised an eyebrow philip simply smiled at you, “i’m always happy when i’m with you.”
— “you’re making this hard for me philip,” you shook your head, glancing away from him. “i have something to tell you but.. you’re making this so hard.”
— philip leaned in closer to you, frowning at the look on your face. you smiled, but your eyes were sad. he’d never seen you so.. torn. “what’s wrong?”
— “philip.. i’ve enjoyed my time with you very much. you know that. but.. i have to go.” you replied softly. “i have to go. i can’t stay here anymore.” you gestured briefly to the street you were on. balet drive. before he could really register, you leaned in close and for a moment, your cold lips met his warm ones. you could feel philip shiver slightly from the difference in temperature. it was the only thing the two of you hadn’t done.. and now you had done it. and now your time was up. the kiss lasted only for a second, as you started to fade from earth. your already translucent appearance began to lighten. you were becoming less visible by the second. you pulled back, taking in philip for the last time. “*mahal kita. mahal na mahal kita, philip.”
— “*dito ka lang!” he cried out into the night, grasping at the air once he realized that you were leaving him.
— it was too late though. your spirit managed to murmur one more phrase before leaving, “*walang iba ikaw lang.” with that, you had disappeared. there was nothing left of you besides a small breeze in the air. philip called out your name a few hundred times, desperate for a reply that he knew he wouldn’t get. he cried at first, selfishly. you had finally found satisfaction on earth. he should be happy for you. you were at peace. you were at rest. you were.. gone. sent to a place he’ll likely never get to see. he was a country, after all— something he had neglected to ever tell you. you were gone.. but you were never forgotten.
— to this day, he still visits balet drive. although it isn’t nightly anymore, philip often comes and sits by the side of the road. he still wears a smile just like he did before but it’s always bittersweet. his mouth is upturned but his eyes hold seas of sadness. every so often he’ll feel a cold breeze, one that makes him shiver the same way he did that faithful night. he likes to believe that it’s you. that you’re still around in some way… and that you still love him just as much as he still loves you.
Tumblr media
☆ TRANSLATIONS.
— *”mahal kita. mahal na mahal kita, philip” should translate to “i love you. i love you so much, philip.” — *”dito ka lang” should mean “stay with me” or “stay here” (i used multiple translators and got mixed results with it). — *”walang iba ikaw lang” should mean “there is only you” (but again, i got mixed results).
if anyone who actually speaks tagalog can help with these translations or give me better phrases to use, please contact me! i’d like for this piece to be as accurate as possible!

Irregular Tread Wear: What Are Its Causes, Consequences, and Solutions?
One common issue that vehicle owners may encounter is irregular tread wear. Hence, GT Radial company would like to share the causes of irregular tread wear and provide valuable insights on how to prevent and address this concern.
What is Tire Tread?
Tumblr media
The tire tread is the rubber part that directly connects with the road surface. Its design and condition significantly influence the vehicle's handling, traction, and overall safety. Irregular tread wear can compromise these essential aspects, leading to potential risks on the road.
Causes of Irregular Tread Wear
The following are the causes of tread worn or torn:
Improper Alignment: Proper wheel alignment is critical for even tread wear. Misaligned wheels can cause tires to wear unevenly, leading to various issues such as decreased fuel efficiency and compromised handling. To address this, regular wheel alignment checks are essential.
Over-Inflation: Over-inflated tires can result in the center of the tread wearing out faster than the edges. This not only affects the tire's lifespan but also impacts the vehicle's performance. It is crucial to maintain the recommended tire pressure to prevent overinflation.
Under Inflation: Under-inflated tires tend to wear on the outer edges of the tread. This reduces the tire's contact with the road, impacting traction and fuel efficiency. Regularly checking and maintaining proper tire pressure can mitigate under-inflation issues.
Consequences of Irregular Tread Wear
The following are the common consequences experienced by riders of having irregular tread wear:
Vehicle Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) Failure
Irregular tread wear can affect the performance of the Anti-lock Braking System, compromising your vehicle's ability to brake effectively and safely.
Brake or Tire Lock
Uneven tire wear can lead to brake or tire lock, resulting in hazardous driving conditions and increased stopping distances.
Loose Bearings or Components
Irregular wear patterns may indicate issues with the vehicle's suspension or steering system, potentially leading to loose bearings or components.
Deformed or Off-centered Rims
In most cases, irregular tread wear can cause rims to deform or become off-centered, impacting the overall stability and safety of the vehicle.
Solutions to Irregular Tread Wear
In case of tread wear, GT Radial experts suggest you to do the following steps:
Perform Tire Balancing and Wheel Alignment Checks
Regular tire balancing and wheel alignment checks can prevent and address irregular tread wear. These services help ensure that the tires wear evenly, promoting optimal performance and safety.
Perform Suspension or Steering System Checks
If irregular tread wear persists, it is advisable to have the suspension and steering systems inspected. Addressing any issues promptly can prevent further damage and enhance the lifespan of your tires.
Invest in Top-Brand Tires!
Investing in top-brand tires, such as GT Radial, known for being among the best tires in the Philippines, is a step towards ensuring the longevity and performance of your vehicle's tires. By understanding and addressing the causes of irregular tread wear, you not only extend the life of your tires but also enhance the overall safety and efficiency of your driving experience. Remember, proper maintenance and timely inspections are key to enjoying the full benefits of your tires for your vehicle.

Why Regular Tire Rotations Are Essential for Your Vehicle's Health
Tumblr media
Maintaining your vehicle involves several routine tasks, but one often overlooked yet critical practice is regular tire rotations. Ensuring that your tires are rotated periodically is vital for extending their lifespan, improving your vehicle's performance, and ensuring your safety on the road. Whether you have the best tires for cars or are searching for affordable tires for sale, this maintenance step is crucial. In the Philippines, where diverse driving conditions can affect tire wear, understanding the importance of regular tire rotations is even more significant.
Extending Tire Lifespan
Tire rotation involves changing the position of each tire on your vehicle to ensure even wear. This practice is essential because tires wear differently based on their position. For instance, the front tires typically wear faster than the rear ones due to steering and braking forces. By regularly rotating your tires, you can achieve more uniform wear, which extends their overall lifespan.
When you invest in the best tires for cars or SUVs, you want to maximize their usage. Even the most affordable tires for sale can benefit from regular rotations, allowing you to get the most out of your purchase. In the Philippines, where road conditions can vary from smooth highways to rough terrain, tire rotation helps ensure that your tires wear evenly regardless of the driving environment.
Improving Vehicle Performance
Uneven tire wear can affect your vehicle's performance, leading to issues such as reduced traction, poor handling, and decreased fuel efficiency. By rotating your tires regularly, you maintain balanced traction and handling, enhancing your vehicle's performance. This is particularly important for tires for cars and SUVs, which often face different driving demands.
In regions like the Philippines, where weather conditions can change rapidly, having evenly worn tires ensures that your vehicle handles better in various scenarios. Whether you're navigating through wet roads during the rainy season or driving on dry, sunny days, regular tire rotations contribute to consistent performance and safety.
Ensuring Safety on the Road
Safety is a paramount concern for any driver. Unevenly worn tires can compromise your vehicle's stability and increase the risk of accidents. Tires that are not rotated regularly may wear down to the tread wear indicators more quickly, reducing their ability to grip the road. This can lead to longer stopping distances and decreased control, especially in emergency situations.
By rotating your tires, you ensure that each tire has an equal opportunity to wear evenly, maintaining optimal tread depth across all tires. This practice is crucial for maintaining the safety of your vehicle, providing you with the confidence that your tires will perform effectively in all driving conditions. Whether you're using premium Philippines tires or more affordable options, regular rotations help maintain the safety and reliability of your vehicle.
Maximizing Cost-Effectiveness
Regular tire rotations are an investment in the longevity and performance of your tires. While it may seem like an additional expense, the cost of tire rotation is relatively low compared to the potential costs of premature tire replacement or vehicle repairs due to uneven tire wear. Rotating your tires helps you get the most value out of your tires, making it a cost-effective maintenance practice.
In the Philippines, where you can find a wide range of tires for sale, ensuring regular rotations allows you to make the most of your investment, whether you choose the best tires for cars or opt for more budget-friendly options. This practice helps you avoid the unnecessary expense of replacing tires prematurely, allowing you to save money in the long run.
Regular tire rotations are essential for maintaining the health and performance of your vehicle. By ensuring even tire wear, you extend the lifespan of your tires, improve your vehicle's performance, and enhance safety on the road. Whether you're using the best tires for cars, affordable tires, or any other type of Philippines tires, regular rotations are a crucial maintenance step.
Investing in routine tire rotations allows you to maximize the value of your tires for cars and SUVs, ensuring they provide reliable performance throughout their lifespan. Make tire rotation a regular part of your vehicle maintenance routine, and enjoy the benefits of a smoother, safer, and more cost-effective driving experience. If you need more ideas about Philippines tires, you can check out GT Radial.

Millennial survey In which a Gen Z-er takes over a survey meant for millennials 😜
What year were you born in? 1998.
Do you remember a time before smartphones and social media? Yeah, of course. I'd talk to friends mostly through landline or text; memorizing the program schedules per channel was the norm because streaming and on-demand stuff were pretty much nonexistent then; and playing outside was the best way to have fun with friends. There was also still the element of surprise when watching...well, pretty much anything, because there was no concept of spoilers unless you had access to the (early days of the) internet, which had been damn near impossible to use anyway because of how expensive it used to be.
I remember when Friendster, Multiply, YouTube, and Facebook all started getting popular and it being very exciting because the concept of social media didn't exist til then and it was like discovering a new world that I thought I'd never get tired of, lol.
Were you part of the generation that experienced the transition from dial-up internet to broadband? Yes. We had dial-up up til the early 2000s and didn't get a taste of broadband until around 2008 - 15 years ago. That noisy dial-up sound is permanently etched in my brain.
Did you grow up watching Saturday morning cartoons? I absolutely did. For some reason they kept the actual entertaining shows in the early morning, so that's how I learned to want to wake up early even on the weekends to catch them. I hated the Nick Jr block they had on in the morning and always skipped over it unless Hi-5, my only favorite, was airing.
Do you have any memories of using floppy disks or cassette tapes? Not floppy disks, but I am very familiar with cassettes since our first family car had a cassette player. My first Beyoncé album is a cassette and I wasn't able to get the CD version til, like, well into the 2010s because it was the first time I saw the CD in the wild haha.
How did you communicate with your friends before the advent of text messaging? Landline.
Were you a fan of any particular boy band or girl group during your teenage years? Ok this is 100% where my Gen Z card would show because my answer to this would be One Direction hahaha.
Did you ever own a portable CD player or a Walkman? I had a CD player and my own radio.
What was your favorite video game console when you were growing up? PlayStation 1 and 2. I had always wanted to try playing on the GameCube but we never had one.
Did you ever use AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) or MSN Messenger to chat with friends? Not those, but I did have Yahoo! Messenger for a time.
Were you aware of the Y2K bug and the associated concerns leading up to the year 2000? No, I had been too young for that whole thing.
Did you ever rent movies from a physical video rental store like Blockbuster or Hollywood Video? I didn't.
Were you into MySpace or LiveJournal during the early days of social networking? I made a Myspace because I had heard of its popularity, but quickly realized that it was only popular in the west because what was big here instead were Friendster and Multiply. LiveJournal yes, I did do a few attempts to start blogs and stuff but I always ended up abandoning them after 1 or 2 posts.
What was your first experience with online shopping? I only started online shopping in like 2017 - the Philippines caught on pretty late. Before that I would either have to go to an actual store to get something, or ask my dad to buy something for me whenever he was in the US.
Did you ever participate in a flash mob or witness one in person? I've done neither.
How did you discover new music before the rise of streaming platforms like Spotify? It was mostly through either recommendations of my favorite celebrities or word of mouth in school.
Were you a fan of the "Harry Potter" book series or the "Twilight" saga? I was never into Harry Potter but I was obsessed with Twilight (still am, lol). I caught on to the hype in 2008 when the first movie came out – quickly breezed through all the books and got to watch New Moon up to Breaking Dawn Part 2 in the cinema.
Did you ever have a MySpace profile and customize it with HTML and CSS? I didn't do HTML on Myspace but I definitely did on Tumblr. This is where I learned all my website customization knowledge tbh.
What was your favorite TV show or cartoon during your childhood? In early childhood, my favorite was without a doubt Hi-5. I was hooked and I remember feeling so distraught when I graduated preschool and realized I was never gonna get to watch Hi-5 again once I'd start grade school and have full-day classes.
Growing up more I started to gravitate towards shows like Drake and Josh, The Suite Life, and That's So Raven. Apart from those, Spongebob also remains a favorite no matter what age I get.
How did you feel about the transition from traditional television to streaming services? It was hard to grasp at first. I remember in 2020 when my dad was asking us if we can get rid of cable and I felt genuinely scandalized lol like why would we ever get rid of cable when it's been part of our everyday lives since even before I was born??? Anyway, my siblings and I eventually gave in when we too realized that we never even went through the cable channels anymore.
Streaming services are definitely the 'new' way of consumption now and my family has fully eased into it - we're subscribed to Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video. I don't have too many strong feelings about this topic, but if anything it does feel extremely bittersweet whenever we'd hear a channel permanently sign off for good – recently it had been NatGeo.

By: TalktomeinClexa
Rating: Mature
Warnings: None
Status: Complete (13/13)
Summary: Clarke, a promising graphic designer for a marketing agency, is sent to the Philippines with some coworkers to visit the new office there. Their trip ends with a few days of vacation on Palawan Island, the jewel of the Philippines, with its breathtaking beaches and snorkeling spots.
When a typhoon comes out of nowhere, their yacht washes up on rocks and Clarke ends up stranded on a deserted island with the one person she can't stand, her workplace nemesis, Lexa.
Will the two women learn to cooperate so they can survive long enough to be rescued? Or will they try to strangle each other before anyone can even notice they are missing?
***
Chapter 1: Arrival
“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Ninoy Aquino International Airport. The temperature outside is 34 °C, and the local time is 2:25 PM. Please remain seated with your seatbelt fastened until the plane comes to a complete stop.”
Clarke lifted her arms above her head. With a groan, she stretched as best as she could without kicking the seat in front of her or hitting the overhead compartment. The flight from LA to Manila had been pleasant enough. But after 15 hours stuck in the economy plus class and the effects of the time difference settling in, she could feel exhaustion creeping up on her.
Her marketing agency, Arkadia, had decided to open a new office in the Philippines to handle the tech side of things. Jaha, the CEO, sent a few managers and creatives to meet their future remote coworkers. They couldn’t afford business class for the 12 Americans. But, as a thank you and apology gift, Jaha booked a hotel for them for a few days on Palawan Island so they could unwind at the end of the trip.
Truth be told, Clarke would have rather stayed in Polis with her parents and friends. And yet, the prospect of snorkeling in the translucent blue waters and lazing on the white sand beaches was enough to lift her spirit. She wished she could be traveling with her best friends, Octavia and Wells, but her coworkers were friendly, and she got along with them.
Well, almost all of them, she thought, as a brunette stood from her seat, two rows diagonal of Clarke, to retrieve her bag as soon as the seatbelt sign was off. Of course, Lexa had to be the first up and ready.
Thankfully, they all managed to go through immigration and retrieve their suitcases without a hitch. Then, they separated into three smaller groups to get into airport taxis.
The trip to their hotel, located in BGC — the most modern part of the capital — was uneventful, and the traffic lulled Clarke into a slumber. Once the car stopped, she grabbed her bags and followed her coworkers into the hotel, not paying much attention to the neighborhood. She was looking forward to exploring the place and trying the Filipino food, but first, there was a bed somewhere with her name on it.
“We should all try to stay awake until tonight,” she heard Lexa say as they were getting the keys to their rooms. “It will make the jet lag more bearable.”
Rationally, she knew that the account manager was right, but she couldn’t stop herself from rolling her eyes at her bossiness.
“Who put you in charge?” she almost asked before changing her mind. Her conflictual relationship with Lexa was no secret in Arkadia. There was no need to antagonize the woman on their first day in a new country and ruin the trip for the rest of the group. She had promised herself she would be the bigger person and avoid Lexa as much as possible, and she stuck to it. Besides, she was way too tired to indulge in their usual arguments.

"Papel": A Gabay Guro Short Film
Analysis
The film is more like a tribute to our unsung heroes which are the teachers.
At the beginning of the short film it was seen there the teacher who just recently woke up from a buzzing and loud noise of the alarm clock and looks tired from work. In that certain part it is was also shown the mess on the top of the table with all the things like coffee mug, phone, pens, and papers. This signifies that she is about to get to work. While in rush the teacher have noticed bills left unpaid. She was caught on a heavy traffic which shows the disorder and messed up transportation system of the country. Before coming in to the classroom she keeps herself composed and professional despite the problems that she faced in the earlier part of the film. She then gave back the checked papers to her students and gave them assurance and compliments about their work.
Through the lens of multimodal and semiotic approach, identifying elements such as language, image, sound, emotions, gestures, and circumstances are essential. As you have seen in the film, on the first part of it is evident that there are cultural signifiers accompanied in the story line. These are the actual sound of car horns amidst the traffic, the loud buzzing sound of alarm clock, and the lively soft music that signifies a change of mood to positive one. On succeeding part Filipino language was being used. The entirety of this short film focuses on the image of being teacher in the Philippines. This signifies the hard work, perseverance, determination, and most especially the passion that teachers are giving to the children inside and outside the portals of academic institution.
