Just to be clear, the sole reason I have not drawn any Cinder x Ras is because knowing Ninjago, Cinder could VERY easily actually be like any age and we would not know. Wyldfyre's minifigure had the SAME issue, before the show, I GENUINELY thought she was a grown woman man...

I don't know much about Cinder yet (only know he exists cuz @nyaskitten keeps posting about him) so I'll probably update my opinion later but I think they deserve it. Fun ideas all around.

Uh…very happy to see Jaune’s semblance I like the underdog trope but I was hoping he wouldn’t stay that way forever I also like the fact that the guy is the healer good job breaking gender norms there RWBY.

I’m pretty sure the crew spent like 99% of the season’s budget on that Raven/Cinder fight and WOW that animation I was definitely floored.

(Also I knew Ilia would turn good she has the same vibes as Catra from She-Ra idk if you’ve seen that.)

That scene with Yang and Raven had me cheering for Yang she’s grown so much I really feel like volumes 4 and 5 have done a lot for her and Blake as characters. They both feel like they’ve completed these big journeys but also their personalities and who they are are becoming more apparent.

Are they like…in love? Because some of those volume 5 moments had uh…there was some gay tension there (What if I needed her here for me?) Also that reunion. Also the bi flag behind Blake in the volume 6 character short.

If this is a cult I think I’m converted now.

Oh also Qrow my beloved he seems to be parenting everyone and I love that for him also I think he needs a cool fight scene.

Anyway that’s a lot ik the normal fans have Ice Queendom right now so hopefully you’re having fun with that:)

yeah, volume 5 wraps up a lot of individual character arcs very nicely and sets up new ones as a team, that’s one of the volume’s strongest points imo.

i don’t wanna spoil any of the bumbleby (blake x yang) fun, so i’ll let you experience it as is. i will say, though, that blake is confirmed bisexual so i’m glad you spotted the background bi flag!!

volume 5 is usually where most fans either drop the show or are stuck in it forever, so i’m glad you’re fully converted now!! volume 6 is easily my personal favorite volume of the show, so have fun!!

I'm happy someone feels the same about how overdone/overused Jaune is in fanfics and ships, I'm honestly fed up of seeing him be put in some situation where he's in a romance with every female RWBY character, even those he doesn't even know, and being treated like someone who can get all the girls when that's not how he is, he only realised Pyrrha had feelings for him before she left to fight Cinder, so this super-love-master status in fandom is annoying to see when it's in almost everything.

RWBY and She-Ra and Amphibia and The Owl House.

Women being strong without requiring men to save them.

Mansplainers get humbled.

And men are the antagonists.

And nobody is straight except the bad guys.

You can understand how this pisses off a lot of fanfic writers who are in love with the idea of shounen male protagonists, women being "annoying" or "useless" finding their masculinity threatened by more forward thinking media.

You'll notice that any attempts to "Fix" RWBY involve reducing women in every capacity while elevating men.

Give us a harem fic that is reverse-harem. Give us a lesbian harem. What's that? These complainers would rather have a straight white male?

So outdated and honestly, its just trash. Naruto and Bleach and Fairy Tail do that garbage just fine.

One Piece I actually like however. It goes out of its way to make  women be able to defeat men, and treat a lot of POC characters with more respect than most Shounen anime like to (glaring at Bleach and how every POC male or female character seems to be an antagonist) No seriously, Bleach took the one Blind Black Guy that was on side of the good guys and decided "let's make him evil, let's turn him into a monster, then kill him off." Not to mention Bleach embraces the “Psycho Lesbian” Trope with Chizuru and regularly considers sexual harassment to be a form of humor....

The shounen anime’s tendency to embrace racism, misogyny, homophobia and transphobia is concerning to me.

I don't see that in RWBY, but I DO see that in fanfics involving Jaune or Adam as the protags...aka cis white male protags.

I'm so sick of that. Then again , Spy X Family and Way of the Househusband do have wonder straight couple writing, but no opportunity for people to force their sad OC ideas of a male power fantasy.

Am I the only one who thinks Rise of the Shield Hero is a Male Power Fantasy?

What are your top 5 ships?

ooh, out of everything? dfghkuj that’s so hard i’m a huge multishipper so here we go

(in no particular order cause i have no clear favorite out of everything. these are just 5 ships that i love to death)

Fenro (Gyro x Fenton) - ducktales. they just have such a great dynamic! i started shipping it from fanworks before fenton’s introduction and so I’ve watched their relationship develop over the course of the show and Gyro develop as a character to where it becomes healthier and healthier. it’s like an almost-enemies to lovers fic but in canon! i’m just so weak for those fics where they realize their feelings and they’re so awkward about it but they care about each other so much dfghnn!! i’m writing another post-astro boyd dad gyro fic that has hints of fenro/greater team science family stuff in it so that came to my mind first

love square (Adrien x Marinette) - miraculous ladybug. there are so many amazing miraculous ladybug ships but i always come back to this one. they’re so cute together and they love each other so much! Adrienette and Ladynoir are my favorite iterations, but any version is adorable. i love their sweetness and snark and sass and how well they work together - both as a ship and as superhero partners! they compliment each other!

ineffable husbands (Aziraphale x Crowley) - good omens. i’m going through someone’s bookmarks on ao3 rn cause i want to read more fic and they bookmarked a lot of good omens fic so it’s on my mind. anyways listen the concept of soulmates is vaguely and inherently arophobic, even though most people don’t mean it that way, so i tend to shy away from those kinds of fics and relationships. (i can explain this later if you like i know that sounds a little confusing especially if you’re not aro but i don’t want to derail this post.) but zira and crowley are a perfect example of soulmates that i actually like sdfgh. they are the only two people like each other, and they just keep coming back to each other! they defied their purpose for existence to be with each other and save the world. they understand each other so well.

kaider (Cinder x Kai) lunar chronicles. I loved these two when I first picked up Cinder in fifth grade and i still love them! they worked so hard to get back to each other and save each other time and time again. they found each other by chance and just completely held onto that relationship through thick and thin. they have an amazing dynamic that i’m still weak for years after reading the lunar chronicles! 

Glitradora (Glimmer x Catra x Adora) she-ra and the princesses of power (2018). obligatory i-have-not-watched-s5-yet. i just adore the dynamics of all three of these characters! they’re all hotheaded idiots who love each other so much. i love the idea of a domestic couple post-show (although i haven’t watched s5 yet so i don’t know how it ends!) i’ve seen a bunch of glitradora art and i just totally latched onto the concept dsfgh. it’s just all the goodness of catradora, glimadora, and glitra all in one!
