A lot of people have asked to send me things to read or requests for writing. I LOVE when people send me these things, but just a few boundaries:

No MCD

No incest

No illegal age gaps

Advice/Ask Boundaries:

Advice about sex (how-to, positions, etc)

Personal topics like my own intimate life, my own personal information (IRL name, names of family members, etc)

Topics that I am not educated on, or do not have a right to give my opinion on. While I am happy to talk and give advice about LGBTQIA+ issues, I am uncomfortable sharing my opinion on issues that I am still working to learn about, because I don't want to spread false information or be unintentionally hurtful. Also, since I hold a lot of privilege, there are certain topics that I would rather amplify the voices of others about, rather than taking up my own space.

Writing Tips:

Write a lot.

Don't worry about mistakes or editing. Just write a lot to get your ideas out. Practice makes better, and writing a lot will help you gain confidence. You don't have to post it anywhere of you don't want to!

2. Try microfics!

Microfics are a great way to practice writing certain ships, or just practice in general. They're also lovely for getting a feel of posting! They're low-pressure and low-commitment, which is lovely!

3. Find people to write with.

Whether it's people online or in person, find people to talk about writing and write with. It's very motivating and helps hold you accountable.

4. Be gentle with yourself!

This is supposed to be fun. Don't beat yourself up or be too hard on yourself.

5. Write down your ideas.

Ideas come at weird times. Write them down, because you'll forget them.

“He used to read me stories when we hid,” Regulus continued, feeling like he was far away as he remembered. He could feel the blanket over his long hair, hear Sirius’s whisper and see the shining light of the torch Sirius had nicked from a Muggle store down the street. The warmth, the secrecy, the knowledge that though the world outside was chaos, they were secure where they were. “He’d get them from our tutor, I think. There was this one about a family that had a dog, and a small house, just…a normal life. And one of the little boys got hurt and his Mother fixed it. Got a bandage, or used a charm, or something.” He snorted. “I think the point of the story was to show that small injuries could be fixed with help, you know?”

Potter nodded, expression serious, eyes on Regulus, looking mesmerized.

“I asked if it was a fiction book,” Regulus shrugged, voice flat. “The first time I read it…I didn’t think it was real. Because the mother in the story said ‘I love you’ and kissed the little boy. I thought it wasn’t real.” He turned away, mortified, because a traitorous tear slipped down his cheek. Sniffing, he wiped it away and continued, twisting his mouth up to stop from crying more.

“After times when Mother hurt us, or locked us in our rooms for days, it always made things better. To hide there with him. Like Mother couldn’t find us,” Regulus murmured, another tear falling. “I think, looking back, Sirius did things to get in trouble on purpose, sometimes. To protect me. He thought he was protecting me from knowing what our parents were like, but I knew. I knew they never…And it just got worse after I- after I got older,” he swallowed, unable to say any more, tears coming in streams, now.

Fuck. How had he allowed this to happen? He turned away, cursing himself. He was so stupid. So idiotic, to allow himself to be so ridiculously vulnerable. He berated himself in his head, the self-hatred and anxiety crashing over him in waves, goosebumps forming over his neck and nausea forming. Why had he given Potter more ammunition against him? More of a reason to run off? Surely he had enough?

But just as his breath began to speed up and he almost choked on his own sob, an arm wrapped around his shoulder and he gasped. 

“You didn’t deserve it,” Potter whispered, voice rough with emotion.

“But it happened,” Regulus said, wiping at his face, desperately trying to hide his tears, still staring outward.

But Potter’s next response was much more firm. “Never again,” he said.

Regulus tried not to. But somehow, he found himself turning into Potter’s arms, and once he was there, in the warmth and the comfort, and the security, he didn’t want to leave.

This is a fair question and I appreciate that you ask it respectfully <3

I do tend to write dorlene and pandalily as background ships, but I would like to write them a bit more. One of my goals is, as I edit Clandestine, I want to write some dorlene and pandalily blurbs for the B-sides.

Honestly, I think the reason I write mlm ships so much is because it's my way of exploring the masculine side that I don't have a chance to explore much IRL. I present as pretty feminine, I'm married to a woman, so it's nice, as a genderfluid person, so explore that side. It's more difficult for me to write wlw for that reason. But yeah, I am planning on some wlw for the Clandestine b-sides!

I also have dorlene as a main pairing in my fic Long Story Short, if you're interested!

Again, I really appreciate you asking in a respectful way, instead of just accusing me of hating women, as some people have in the past lol.
