#Class 78 girls

How about a drawing where Chisa is hugging Makoto with his blushing face in her boobs while Class 78 girls give her jealous glares and pull out weapons when Chisa gives them a smug smile while claiming that Makoto needs extra credit and runs to her room while the girls chase her?

i'll be honest: i actually think haeley's fault is a clever wormfic. Almost certainly not by design, the story was definitely not supposed to be that, but whatever this is my reading
Haeley's Fault feels like something that taylor would write in-universe. That's how she thinks drug addiction works. Taylor Hebert wrote that haeley's fault one night when she was especially miserable in her first year of high school and then tore the lined paper she wrote it on into a hundred pieces and threw the pieces in the garbage. She still worries that someone will find the paper and piece it together, a full year after it was put into a landfill. She's scared that someone will find the piece of paper behind it in her 100 page lined notebook and charcoal scratch it to decipher her vent short-story.
It literally makes sense though. Like, not only is it not how anything like that works, it also fundamentally misunderstands emma in exactly the right way. Emma in that fic realizes that she's ruined taylor's life, and repents and cries and stuff. As if Emma was simply bullying taylor out of some sort of misunderstanding, or that ruining taylor's life wasn't the point. Her sort of 'redemption arc' is exactly what i'd imagine first-year-of-high-school's fantasy to be.
Taylor hits rock bottom through Drugs, a thing that we know she only really understands in the abstract and fears immensely, and then Emma sees this and realizes that she has ruined taylor's life and feels bad about it.
i'm not doing a good job of explaining this but it really feels like a story written by a bullied 14 year old where she fantasizes about her former best friend and current bully coming to a realization and becoming her friend again

Pov: You chose to fly out of the scariest airport in Japan.
—-
Ngl this was abit hard because some these characters were hard to put into like a single category (cause some could do either or like mahiru for example could be a flight attendant or a desk attendant) or their personality just didn’t fit so I tried to go with what they might do if I wasn’t too sure (and yes alters are separate people or well just twins).
Also jin would be an airport owner but he wasn’t listed in the tier list🤧

For the WIP guessing game: trust/truth? 💕
Hey Shreya!
Thanks for the ask, so many spoilery ones of both but I held off on them...
When she had moved to a new continent and was effectively on her own, with no knowledge of who to trust, she examined every iteration of a protection charm she could find, had homed in on magical theory and has, over the years, interwoven pieces together.
Send a word ask

It’s been almost a year since my last upload, so here’s a list of things I manifested since then 💖
Tumblr media
Hii my luvs <3 here’s a list of things I manifested in the past 11 months ! Hopefully this helps you stay motivated about your desires because everything will work out .
This is also inspired by @youalreadyhavefullresults
・an iPhone 13
・money being given to me just because — literally got 160$ last week in CASH 🥰
・straight A’s in all my classes
・people complimenting me a LOT more — like every time I go out someone is either complimenting : my scent (my perfume), my makeup, my face, body (in a good way and non-creepy way), etc.
・braces — I had my braces at the time when I posted my 3dolc X Roe challenge but I’m still going to say I manifested them 🙄
・more friends — so many people that were in my grade and class last year that I didn’t talk to became my friends. My overall friend circle grew bigger
・more guy friends — most of my friends were girls which I love but I wanted to have some guy friends too and I got some 🤭 many of them added me to their close friends on Instagram and we hung out a lot during school (low key miss them)
・multiple people having a crush on me — I don’t know how to word this without it sounding weird but yeah😭. I had 4 dudes tell me they had a crush on me and they were low key attractive but my parents are kinda strict so no boyfriend for me (yet)
・my teachers liking me / being one of their favourite student — one of my teacher boosted my grade on my final report card, I didn’t even do any work that could give me extra credit.
(Pro tip : always be nice to your teachers like it’s so beneficial on the long run. Even when they’re low key assholes don’t hold a grudge)
・my anxiety whenever I have to present a presentation or speak out loud — I used to be so scared whenever I had to make a speech or just talk in front of people at school but I my fear went down. I’m still kinda nervous but so many subliminals helped me get over it.
・HUGE GLOW UP - OH MY GAWD, you guys I became so much prettier since I was last year no joke. I’ve had so many people stare at me in awe and compliment me. Like two weeks ago I was going grocery shopping alone since I have a store really close to me and I had to take the bus (I don’t have my drivers license yet 😔) and this lady that I sat next to full on turned and kept staring at me. When I looked at her she just smiled like kanaosj’akah!/&/$/78[•\*£\’s pls 💞
・acrylics — my mom wouldn’t let me get acrylic nails unless it was for a special event but she’s been letting me get one every month and I’m so so grateful
・a better relationship between my mom and dad — they have gotten so much nicer to one an other like my dad started buying gifts for my mom. It doesn’t happen very often but it’s a start
・my mom’s health
・a fun summer — compared to last year this summer has been way more exciting, even though I took summer classes for the month of June I still had so much fun and I still have a whole month to go
・finding lost items — you have no idea how many times I lost my AirPods because I sleep with them on overnight and whenever I wake up they are no where to be found 😭😭.
・getting a second ear piercing on each ear — my mom told me I could only get a 2nd piercing when I’d be 18 but I didn’t feel like waiting that long so I manifested she let me get them and she did 🙈. I got them last year during the time I posted my last post
・getting a KITTENN and a CATT — I’ve been wanting one so so badly and I’m finally getting one
・getting more clothes — I already have so many clothes and my mom said she would stop buying me some for a while , but she still bought me some and they are on the way 💞
・my parents finally getting their dream house 😩
・cute moments between me & my crush 🤭🤭
・greener eyes — my eyes have been getting lighter and look more green
・prettier 😽 (iykyk 😭😭)
・toxic people out of my life — specifically my old “friends”

So, I decided to take a few photos of the Danganronpa 4コマ KINGS series and compile a few of the findings I thought were funny.
I don't have everything fully translated yet, so there may be a few issues with my findings. If you find any mistakes or have anything to add, please lmk :) I'll also update this if I find things later.
---IMPORTANT NOTE---
All of these drawings are NOT mine. Everything comes from the 4コマ KINGS series published by Spike Chunsoft. I'm simply photographing them and sharing them with others who may not have seen them before (since the series is out of circulation). If there is any issue with my post, please inform me so that I can take appropriate action.
All photos are below the break here :) (Warning, it's long lol) ((And there are a few minor spoilers))
(EDIT: As a side note, I've posted more pictures in an update. Idrk how this site works, so I'm letting people know here so you can find it if you want.)
Fun things that you can learn from the Danganronpa 4コマ KINGS comics:
Hifumi has written, drawn, or thought of making content relating to Sayaka x Kiyoko, Aoi x Sakura (on two occasions), and Makoto x Byakuya
Toko thinks that… something… happened between Mondo and Kiyotaka in the sauna, wink wink.
Toko wrote some sort of fanfiction in relation to Byakuya, Chihiro and Mondo. Idk what it is, but the title is along the lines of "The Byakuya Family Household Sweep Away a Beautiful Girl". (Pretty sure it's a Mondo x Chihiro fic, but I could be wrong.)
Tumblr media
^ pretty sure Syo is a heavy BL fan lol
Aoi's b00bs are so squishy, she can use them to launch herself off things.
Tumblr media
Everyone really likes drawing pretty boy Byakuya. Like, he looks fabulous in some of these panels. Here is one of those pictures:
Tumblr media
........Okay, fine, this is the right one:
Tumblr media
Hifumi has drawn gender swaps of a few of the boys, being Makoto, Byakuya, Leon, Yasuhiro, Kiyotaka, and Mondo.
Tumblr media
Leon really wants a harem lol
Tumblr media
Kiyoko's secret picture (from the last trial in-game) was of Class 78 hosting a cat maid cafe
Tumblr media
Yasuhiro's secret (the motive in Chapter 2) is that he's an idiot.
Tumblr media
Mondo, Kiyotaka and Sayaka all get along really well! So do Mondo, Kiyotaka and Chihiro :)
Mondo knows how to sew!
Tumblr media
Mondo doesn't wear eyeliner, he just has really long eye lashes.
Tumblr media
Mondo's hair is fluffy and bouncy :)
Makoto thinks Mondo's hair looks like a corn chip. Aoi thinks it looks like a chocolate croissant :)
Tumblr media
Chihiro once gave Mondo a game about dogs. He loved it lol
Chihiro and Mondo have actually trained together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
^ they actually make a great team :)
(I'm pretty sure that) Kiyotaka was found guilty in a trial relating to black underwear. Unclear if he was executed or not. (This point is subject to change once I fully translate the comic.)
Tumblr media
Kiyotaka was brainwashed by the Mono-Rangers (parody on Power Rangers) in a different comic. He became Commander Ishimaru and enforced rules and dress code in a dictator-like fashion. (Full translation is still in the works.) This is what his outfit looked like:
Tumblr media
Daiya dies in 4K
Tumblr media
Komaru's here :D
Tumblr media
Mukuro shows up a lot as herself! She's so cute lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kiyoko's kinda socially awkward lol, it's really cute.
Makoto has wanted to see up Kiyoko's skirt on multiple occasions.
Makoto has tried a couple of times to cheer Kiyotaka up. It does not work.
And now, here are some funny out-of-context panels to cap off this post! These were too hilarious not to include, I just couldn't make a bullet point out of them lol.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk :)

helloooo!! can I request a the pjsk boys with a reader who is "perfect"/popular (example: good grades, a lot of friends, talented in art/most school subjects, etc) but they actually hate it (bc people keep using it as an argument when the reader discusses about their grades)? I'm sorry if this is too specific bc this is basically a summary of me 😭 But anyway, thanks in advance, I love your writing <)
-> 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞…
You can’t help being a natural at almost anything you do, just like others can’t help seeing that as your only trait. Fortunately, there’s always someone who doesn’t see you only for your skills…
With Akito Shinonome, Toya Aoyagi, Tsukasa Tenma & Rui Kamishiro | Genre - Comfort with a fair amount of angst
Cw) anxiety, pent up emotions, belittling, fights (none between reader and characters listed above), it gets noticeably shorter during Tsukasa’s part cause I was tired
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Akito felt honored at first. You, of all people, saw something good enough in him that was actually worth something. It almost didn’t feel real. But this type of thinking didn’t last long, not even a week in fact.
He quickly realized he shouldn’t have been idolizing you the way he was, and you were still a regular person just like him. You may be more skilled, intelligent and quicker than others, but you were still a regular high schooler at the end of the day.
But that didn’t make others think the same way.
You made everything look so easy, so simple. Your peers admired you for this, and held you up on the pedestal Akito once did. A part of him worried about you. After all, all these people can’t acknowledge any flaws you have. You should be happy, right?
But that wasn’t the case at all.
You felt pressured, anxious, worried. What if you messed something up? Would anyone ever see you the same way? Everything had to be perfect, it just has to.
The street singer recognized your thinking, it felt all too familiar to him. He assured you it’s okay to make mistakes, and not everything has to be perfect. But that’s what he thinks, what about what everyone else thinks? It didn’t take long for you to find that out however.
“Ah, I can’t believe I failed the exam… I didn’t think it’d be that hard!” One of your classmates said.
“Tell me about it, half the questions weren’t even on the study guide we got.” Another classmate replied.
The exam was… hard. But it wasn’t impossible. It felt like it was designed to challenge everyone rather than actually test the students. Even you flunked the test a bit.
“I bet you (Name) over there still managed to get a 100, right (Name)?” One of which called over to you, you didn’t bother to remember who though.
“Actually… I got a lower grade as well. 78 out of a 100. It was pretty difficult this time.” You replied.
You were hoping your words would make the others feel less failure. If you got a low grade- what they considered a perfect classmate and student- then they shouldn’t stress too much over their failures. Right?
You wish you were right.
“Are you kidding me? You get a 100 on like… everything! How did your grade drop that bad?” The girl scowled at you, feeling as if you were mocking her for some reason.
“Well it wasn’t the easiest, and it was designed to challenge us, including me.” You said back. Your two classmates looked at you in disbelief. Were you being serious?
“It’s different coming from you. You place in the top 10 all the time during these tests! Usually your first! You should have been the one who passed.” Ouch.
Those words hit you like a brick. Yeah… they were right, you were supposed to be the saving grace for the class’s average. And you went ahead and flopped just like everyone else? They were right, you had no excuse.
The bell rang and you picked up your bag, hastily walking out of the classroom. You couldn’t be seen like this, everyone’s going to find out…
Navigating the crowded hallways, you search for the school’s exit. The staff will only think you got sick and had to go home, no one would ever think of you as a class cutter. If it’s only one time… they shouldn’t mind.
Right as you were about to push the door open, a hand grabs your shoulder.
“Where do you think your going..?” A familiar voice asked.
You turn around, fearing the worst and expecting to make eye contact with a teacher.
“…without me.” He finished.
“Akito!”
He let go of your shoulder, figuring you got the hint. He chuckled a bit as your face showed relief. ‘They must have been really worried about getting caught.’ He thinks.
“Great to see you too. Now, would you answer the question?” His voice sounded stern, yet playful.
“It was just… a bad time today. In class I mean. Um, I don’t think I feel comfortable talking about it here though.” You said. The last thing you needed was for anyone to hear how badly you thought you screwed up.
“Alright then, lead the way.”
You looked both ways, making sure there were no witnesses nearby before pushing the door open and making a run for it, your boyfriend not far behind. You two ran for a few minutes until it was ensured no one was after you.
But neither of you quit moving. Akito wouldn’t say it himself, but he was also itching to get out of there, and was kinda grateful you were as well. Otherwise, he’d probably be suffering alone in school right now. You both were itching to get home- either of your homes.
Opening your front door- much calmer than the last door you opened, you didn’t waste a second to walk through. Kicking off your shoes and hanging your bag up, the ginger behind you following suit, you were finally home.
“So, what happened earlier?” He asked, throwing himself on your bed. He’s been wondering ever since he caught you at the school door, it was very out of character for you to.. rebel… like that.
“Right.. I had a little slip up in class. They were talking about tests grades- the most recent one they got. Everyone either failed or got below an 80, including me. I thought… I thought telling them I had a low grade as well would make them feel a bit better. But they got frustrated- saying something about how I can’t possibly fail a test.” You sighed, it was still fresh in your mind. Even as you crawled into your bed where you’re supposed to be calm.
Akito stayed silent for a moment, gathering his thoughts and thinking of the right words to use. Even if you didn’t say it flat out, he knew you were troubled at the thought of people thinking differently of you. You felt this strange ‘responsibility’ of maintaining this perfectionist reputation. He was never sure how to feel about that. Should he have reassured you more? Been more worried? He couldn’t help but feel guilty.
“You shouldn’t worry about what those bitches think. They clearly didn’t understand that test wasn’t meant to be passed with a perfect score, huh? You did though, and you still passed right? Even if you failed, that’s okay. At the end of the day… isn’t it just a number?”
You took a moment to process his words. He was right, you did still pass. Even if it wasn’t a perfect score… a passing grade is enough, right?
“You don’t like the way you are, don’t you?” He continued, this time getting past your imaginary mask.
You shook your head silently. Of course you didn’t. Everyone expects so much from you all the time, it’s so… stressful. You despised it, you’d do anything to be an average person.
He didn’t need you to say anything, your reaction was enough. He shifted closer to you so his presence felt less vague, it comforted you.
“I hope you realize you don’t have to do everything right, and I never want you to feel as if you have to keep that up around me.” Your heart warmed, of course he’d say that.
Even if everyone else wanted the most from you, Akito only wanted whatever you had to give. If it was nothing, that’s fine. You alone is enough for him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was hard for anyone to imagine Toya with a partner who’s so… outgoing. Even if it wasn’t intentional, you seemed to know anyone and everyone in the district. But as they say, opposites attract.
He never minded how well known you were. At times he may feel just a tad jealous when someone holds you up for too long, but besides that, it was never too much of a bother. He may not know what it’s like to be in your shoes, but he thought he had a good idea of what it was like.
Everyone knew you, almost all of them taking a liking to you. It was rare to hear of someone who disliked you for reasons other than jealousy. You must always have options when it comes to going out, and you’re probably entertained at functions like that often.
At least, that’s what Toya believed at first.
Slowly over time, he began to pick up on your sudden shifts in facial expressions. You were all smiles when an acquaintance came up to talk to you. But the moment they walked away, your face instantly dropped into what looked like annoyance.
You’d giggle with someone, but once they left you scoffed. You’d gossip with someone else, and once they left you’d roll your eyes. But not once did you verbally express complaint.
Toya was no idiot, he realized your stance on your popularity. You weren’t happy about it, at all. He intended in speaking to you about it eventually, but it came sooner than planned unexpectedly…
You were walking down the streets with Toya, on your way to meet up with his group at one of their favorite locations. There were more people walking than usual today, but you didn’t pay any mind to it, considering it irrelevant. But little did you know…
“Oh look, it’s (Name) and their boyfriend! How are you two?” A chipper girl said. She had an… odd… look in her eyes.
“We’re doing pretty good! We were just on our way to meet up with friends actually!” You smiled sweetly, but you felt sick to your stomach knowing who this girl was.
“That’s so cute! If you don’t mind, can me and my friends over there tag along? We won’t be a bother, I swear!” She practically squealed that first part, leaving your ears ringing.
Toya looked between you, the girl, and her friends a few feet away. He caught on to what you were thinking, thankfully.
“Apologies, but the meeting is exclusively for close friends. And we’re in a hurry, so if you’ll excuse us…”
‘He’s my saving grace’ You thought. Although, you thought just a little too soon.
“Wow (Name), you never said anything about your boyfriend being such a douche. You seriously gonna let him make these decisions for you?” You internally screamed at her, calling her all sorts of names. Of course, you refrained from this on the outside.
“He’s not making decisions for me, we are actually in a hurry and this meeting is exclusively for close friends. We need to get going now…” You took off, grabbing Toya’s hand in the process before she could say anything else.
You sighed, of course you had to have a run in like that on what was supposed to be a good day. Who knows what you’ll come home to hear this time. What’s it going to be now? You were a bitch to someone you barley knew simply because you didn’t want to be late? That is something they’d say to bring you down.
The hangout went smooth, no more random encounters with randoms. But the scene from earlier related over and over in your mind.
“(Name), are you alright?” Toya asked. He asked quietly in order to avoid attracting the attention of others, you found it considerate.
“I’m alright, just thinking. That’s all.” Liar.
Toya nodded, averting his attention back to the recording An and Akito were making him listen to. Apparently they were coming up with a new song for their next event, and wanted his input on it.
You found yourself dissociating from the group. It’s been hours, and you just wanted to get home to find out if anything new was spread about you.
“It’s getting late, I think me and (Name) are gonna head home now. Is that good, (Name)?” You practically jumped out of your seat when you heard “head home.”
“Yeah, I’m ready. I’m exhausted and need to go to sleep… I’ll see you all later!” You waved goodbye to everyone alongside Toya. Exiting Weekend Garage, making your way to Toya’s place.
The walk was silent, but a comfortable silent. Neither of you said a word the whole way to his place, but you still knew what the other was thinking.
Opening the door, he stepped aside to let you in first.
“We need to talk about something.” He said.
‘There it is…’ you thought. It was only a matter of time. He lead you upstairs to his room, hoping you’d be more comfortable talking in his own space. You took your spot on his bed, waiting for his next words.
“You’ve been acting strange, or I’ve noticed how strange you act. Specifically when your around people who seem to know you. Does that… make you uncomfortable?” Maybe it wasn’t the time to think of it, but you were relieved this wasn’t a breakup talk.
“It’s… complicated.”
“I’ll listen to any complications you have.”
Taking a deep breath, you let everything out. All the pent up frustration you’ve kept in for so long.
“I’m just so… annoyed. Annoyed with everyone. Not you of course, but all these other people. Everyone thinks I’m happy to hear their gossip about others, but it just makes me view everyone involved differently. Like that girl we saw today, she’s a cheating bitch who cheated on all her exes for some random guy she meets. And then if I tell anyone what I think of someone else, I’m the two-faced one.” You took another breath, you needed it after all that talking.
You threw your head back to the wall, sighing again. You weren’t even sure how it got like this, when all these people saw you as a comfort person. It was starting to stress you out.
Thankfully, Toya caught on. He took your hand in his and started rubbing circles on the back of your hand with his thumb. It’s the little actions that always mean the most.
“I couldn’t possibly know how you feel. But what I can tell you is that none of those people deserve you. If all they do is bad mouth others to you, messing with your head, then they could do the same thing back to you. You deserve the best possible friends out there, not people who think they know you.”
“You say I deserve the best friends, but I already have the best boyfriend, don’t I?” You pointed out. His cheeks flushed a bit, but only briefly.
You chuckled at his reaction, pulling him into a hug.
“Thank you, Toya. You’re the only person I ever want to know. Well, our other friends as well. But especially you.”
He smiled into your hair. Both of you were really lucky, huh?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You were always quite talented at the arts. Whether it be musical arts, visual arts, or any other type of art, it was guaranteed you would excel. This was what inevitably drew Tsukasa towards you. He found your talent admirable, and aspired to reach your level of skill one day.
Whenever you drew around him, he watched intently, starry eyes following every pencil stroke you made. Whenever you played an instrument near him, he’d drop whatever he was going to listen. It was almost spell-bounding to him.
You of course, appreciated his enthusiasm. But sometimes you wished he’d focus a little less on whatever your doing and focus more on you. You implied this discreetly once in a conversation, and he didn’t realize till later. Once he realized though, he thought it was better to focus on you more anyways.
If Tsukasa is able to pick up on that, shouldn’t anyone else be able to? You wished that was the case
You groaned out in frustration as yet another peer handed you their art assignment to “help” with. They disguised it as help, but in reality they only wanted you to finish it for them, that way they get a better grade. It was… annoying to say the least.
Examining what was left, it seemed possible to get it done before the class ends. You got to work immediately in order to avoid any more pestering later.
As usual, other students gathered over your shoulder. Some were a little too close for comfort, and it was starting to distract you. A lot.
“I’m sorry, but could you please back up a bit? You’re in my personal space and it’s pretty distracting.” You asked as politely as possible.
The male rolled his eyes a bit before backing up. You thought that would be the end of it- you wished that was the end of it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t.
“What do they mean they’re ‘distracted’? They were doing just fine when I was standing that close. Making a big deal out of nothing… geez.” He spoke up, a little too late after he moved away.
Your wrist stopped, dropping the pencil. ‘What’s his problem?’
“Excuse me?”
Anyone who wasn’t looking before was definitely looking now. The room went dead quiet after hearing the malice in your voice. Others near you backed away, while some got a bit closer to hear better.
“You didn’t hear me the first time? I said you’re making a big deal out of nothing. You were doing just fine. Was all that attention not enough for you? You wanted more? Well you definitely got it now.” He laughed at bit after that last remark, pissing you off even more.
“I heard you loud and clear the first time. Just wanted to see if you had the guts to repeat it is all.”
“Oh yeah? And what were you going to do if I didn’t?”
You abruptly stood up, getting more and more irritated with every second that passed. The look on this guy’s face was enough to frustrate you alone, his words were just additions to that.
You were toe to toe with him now. Your other classmates were finally backing away now, but the only one who didn’t stayed toe to toe with you.
“Cute, you’re just gonna stand there?” He mocked.
Clenching your fist as tight as ever, you raised it. The punch was swift, but it felt like a stab in the stomach to him.
“(Full Name). Office, now.” Apparently in the midst of everything, someone went off to get a teacher before it could escalate to… that. While they were a little late, it definitely prevented it from escalating further.
You walked to the office with the teacher, holding your head down in shame. It felt like all eyes were on you, and everything sounded so quiet. The only good thing to come out of this was getting sent home early.
You got let off with a 2 day suspension, while the one who provoked you only got a detention. It pissed you off reasonably, but there wasn’t anything you could do about it. Because he didn’t attack first or even attack at all, you were seen as the problem.
“…and that’s how my day went. Sorry Tsukasa, I won’t see you around school for a few days.” You finished telling your boyfriend all the events that occurred today, and why someone told him to ‘get his partner in check.’
He sat in front of you dumbfounded. For a moment, he felt all the rage you felt when everything was happening. He was almost as pissed off as you were at the detention punishment as well.
“But you were being harassed! It wasn’t physical, but who knew if that guy was going to throw a punch first. You were only sticking up for yourself!” He exclaimed. You sighed, muttering an “I know” under your breath.
He huffed, crossing his arms to express his seriousness right now.
“Well… I don’t think you did anything wrong. Shouldn’t the girl who made you finish her art project be blamed for all this? If she never gave it to you then this all could have been avoided!”
“I thought about that, but she wasn’t even in the room when all this happened. And it still comes back to me for doing her project anyways.”
Tsukasa sensed your frustration. He tried to calm himself down to avoid adding onto it, but it was still in the back of his mind.
“The only way any of this could have been avoided is if I sucked at art.” You bluntly said. Tsukasa turned his head, looking at you with wide eyes.
“Why would you want to suck at art though?” He asked.
“It’d keep people away from me, make them stop seeing me as a homework machine or something. I don’t like the kind of attention it gives me.”
He tried to understand where you were coming from, but it was difficult. He loves the attention being a self proclaimed star gets him, and would never want to give his title up. But you were the complete opposite.
Still, even if he didn’t understand, he’d try his best.
“I think… I think what you do is amazing (Name). But I don’t think it’s amazing that people use you for your talent, and I find it even less amazing how it deteriorates your self esteem.” He tried to keep his voice as soft as possible.
“Thank you, Tsukasa. I just… I just wish things went a little differently for me, that’s all.”
He could understand that this time. Sometimes he wished things went differently for him as well, but that thought was buried in the back of his mind with all the others.
He took your hand in his, reassuring you he wasn’t going anywhere. He swore he’d always see you as who you were as a person before your talents.
And it worked. The built up anger finally dying down.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your scientific mind never went unnoticed by Rui. How could it be? Not only was it a trait he found quite attractive, but it was also what lead to your relationship with each other.
Not a day went by where he didn’t appreciate your love for all things science related. You’d frequently ask him questions about his own inventions, even offering help with a handful of them. The ones you assisted him with felt more important than any other inventions he had.
You were placed in the highest science courses available. Chemistry, physics, biology, you were somehow taking all of them at once. The school saw you as some sort of “prodigy” and wanted to push you as best as they possibly could. Which certainly worked! But…
Some students weren’t as welcoming as others. Not everyone thought your vast knowledge in science was normal, some even considered it ‘unhealthy.’ You tried your best to ignore them, but it’s hard to ignore something that’s right in front of you.
With chemistry involving, well, chemicals, your class was often in a lab room during the period. The professor enjoyed being unpredictable, so you never knew what to expect walking into the room. But you wouldn’t have thought he’d try something so… inconsiderate.
The first thing you noticed was a chart projected on the board, the second thing you notice is that it’s a seating chart. Any groups from earlier in the year were changed into random clusters. Some were excited for this change, while others, including yourself, groaned out in frustration.
Because of course, you just had to have the worst group.
Two members of the table seemed to be familiar with each other already, giggling amongst themselves. The third person looked completely out of it, not appearing to be paying attention to anything going on around him. You were already feeling like the odd one out here.
“Oh look, we have (Name) in our group! This class should be much easier now.” One of the girls said.
You looked at her for a moment, averting your guys to other next to her. She seemed to find what her friend said amusing, you could tell what was going on already.
“(Name) did I ever tell you how gorgeous your eyes are? Does wearing those… science goggles make your eyes look prettier?” Her smile seemed as fake as her lashes, but for now you just had to stay civil…
You tune the rest of the room out to focus on the assignment handed to you. All you had to do was write a few equations and answer some questions… nothing too bad. If you finish early, you can probably get out of this class sooner.
Your focus was disrupted by obnoxious tapping on the table.
“Can you give me the answers when you’re done?” Your group-mate asked. It took every ounce of self control to avoid rolling your eyes and turning away, instead you pretended you never heard her.
“Hello? Anyone there? Earth to (Name)~!” She said in a sing song voice. Still, as long as you pretend you never heard it…
“God, can they be anymore rude? They think they’re the shit just cause they’re in all these science courses. Just grow up already!” At that point she knew you were listening, and was resorting to shit talk to get your attention.
Unfortunately that was what grabbed your attention. Peering up at the girl with a look of annoyance, she giggled again.
“Looks like someone can hear after all!”
“Fuck off.” You replied. Stuffing your paper into your bag, you asked the teacher if you could see the nurse, to which he agreed. You couldn’t stand that table already, and you have to do that for a whole semester? Hell no.
Some students were already on their free period or lunch, so the hallways were a bit crowded, but not terribly. Thankfully it made it much easier to spot a tall purple haired male nearby.
“Rui, there you are.” You said while practically running up to him.
“Well, if it isn’t dear (Name), shouldn’t you be in..” You cut him off.
“Chemistry? Yeah. I got out to ‘go to the nurse’ but I really just wanted to cut the rest of the class. We got new groups today- mine is the worst.”
“I see…” he replied.
It was clear you were unhappy with these new seats, but there wasn’t much you could do about them. Rui acknowledged this, and tried to come up with quick solutions on the spot. Though he could tell you about them later. Right now, you just need a shoulder to lean on it seems. Literally and figuratively.
You sighed into his shoulder as he played with you hair. It felt more private in this part of the school, so there was less shame in the PDA. Besides, it at least looked normal compared to other couples.
“I hate science.” You said.
“Excuse me?”
Maybe you could have phrased that better… but part of you meant that as well.
“I just hate how everyone treats me because of science, it’s not fair. I’m just ahead of everyone else and have a passion, why is that such a problem?” You continued.
Rui knew exactly what you meant. He spent years being outcasted for being a weirdo, primarily about science. It was easy to sympathize with you.
“I know what you mean… but at the end of the day, who’ll be the one wearing a cool looking lab coat ten years from now? Definitely not them.” He joked, trying to lighten your mood a bit before class starts again. If anyone else had said that you’d have just rolled your eyes. But because it was Rui, you couldn’t help but chuckle.
You punched his shoulder lightly, making him chuckle. ‘Your spirits have been lifted up’ he thought.
“Just what would I do without you Rui…”
“Not thinking of yourself in a lab coat standing over everyone else, that’s for sure.” He replied.
Feeling better, you leaped up and stretched your arms out. Rui following suit, just a bit lazier. He handed you your bag and you thanked him.
“Mind walking me to my next class?” You asked.
“I’ll never mind doing anything for you. And… that’s our class, I’m in it as well.” He remarked teasingly. He sits right in front of you in that class, but you just wanted to see what he’d say.
“Right right, now let’s go before I accidentally drop a fire cracker here…”
You two were really made for each other, huh?

My Favorite New Manga and Graphic Novels I Read in 2023
It's time to take a look at the comics and manga I read this year! I read  a whopping 78 manga and graphic novels in all. Here's a link to my Goodreads year in books (the manga is at the beginning, the novels start with Siren Queen) and my storygraph wrap up.
I also read 36 novels! If you want to see my favorites, check out my reviews here!
And finally, I've got the continuing manga series I've enjoyed this year here, so check that post out too!
Tumblr media
The Magic Fish by Trung Le Nguyen
This is a tale about a first-generation Vietnamese-American boy struggling with coming out to his mother. He connects with his mother through fairytales-- she uses them to express her journey as an immigrant, and he uses them to explore his queerness and identity as a Vietnamese kid growing up in America. It's an absolutely gorgeous book full of Trung Le Nguyen's signature stunning art. The fantastical, ethereal fairy tales are weaved beautifully into the lives of the characters. The book explores how fairy tales can form connection, can express culture, can tap deeply into something real and true, and can offer tragedy and catharsis. The protagonist uses fairy tales to write his own story, and the ending is lovely and moving.
Exit Stage Left: The Snagglepuss Chronicles by Mark Russell and Mike Feehan
You may know Mark Russell from his darker, socially aware re-imagining of the Flintstones, which made quite a splash on Tumblr with this post. Well, I had pleasure of meeting him at a local convention, and I finally got his comic re-imagining of Snagglepuss, also of Hanna-Barbera. He re-imagines the titular pink puma as a closeted gay playwright in the 50's dealing with McCarthyism. It's as wild as it sounds, but also really digs into the politics of the time, the struggle of standing against oppression and how art fights through suppression and censorship. It's tragic, hopeful, poignant and full of historical references. I enjoyed it ! Definitely be cautious if you're deeply disturbed by homophobia and suicide.
Tumblr media
The Summer Hikaru Died by Mokumokuren
A story about a teenage boy, Yoshiki, who realizes that his best friend and crush Hikaru has died and been replaced by a strange eldritch being who is imitating him. But, missing his loved one and desperate to cling to any piece of him, Yoshiki decides to keep on having a relationship with this mysterious entity. This book's horror is visceral and sublime, especially the bizarre, creepy, beautiful body horror involving the being who replaced Hikaru. It's an exploration of anxieties involving grief, relationships, and sexuality that hits just right, and the atmosphere layered with dread is top notch. I love me some messed up relationships and unknowable queer monsters, and this book delivers.
Chainsaw Man, Look Back and Goodbye Eri by Tatsuki Fujimoto
Chainsaw Man needs no introduction, but I did end up really enjoying the story of the doggy-devil boy hunting other devils. It got so tragic and intense at the end, with lots of great surreal horror imagery and darkly funny moments. I'm impressed it went so hard, though the random powers that kept piling up made what was happening hard to follow at times, especially in fights. I'm also enjoying the current weird arc starring a class-A disaster girl and the demon sharing her body.
Look Back
I really do enjoy how Fuijimoto writes messy pre-teen/teenage girls. They ring so true. The manga follows the fraught friendship between two girls as they create manga, exploring the struggle of art mixing with real relationships, and how someone keeps creating after tragedy. It's a little hard to follow at times (especially since I have to differentiate the leads based on hairstyle), but it's a good read.
Goodbye Eri
Probably my least favorite of the three, but it's a fun read- a weird ride that examines the thin line between fiction and reality in art and makes good use of Fujimoto's cinephile background and signature gaslight gatekeep girlboss characters.
Is Love the Answer? by Uta Isaki
Tumblr media
The story follows a teenage girl, Chika, who has always struggled with not being attracted to anyone. When Chika enters college, she meets queer people all across the spectrum of asexuality, and starts exploring her own identity. As an ace, this is the best story about asexuality that I've read. It was a nuanced look at asexuality and queerness and all the variations. Chika's journey and how she found her community was moving and poignant. It's a honest, moving look at relationships and identity, and how complicated and hard to define both of those things can be. I loved the moments of Chika imagining herself as an alien to explore and cope, and how she bonded with people through magical girl shows and other geekery. My favorite new manga of the year, it really connected with me!
The Girl that Can’t Get a Girlfriend by Mieri Hiranishi
Oh girl, I've been there. This is a fun autobiographical comic about a butch4butch lesbian's struggles finding a partner in a word that favors butch/femme, and it's just an honest look at the messiness of loneliness and relationships. I also appreciate that crushing on Haruka in Sailor Moon and becoming a HaruMichi stan was the beginning the author's queer awakening because uh...same! She has taste, and is truly relatable.
Qualia the Purple: The Complete Manga Collection by Hisamitsu Ueo and Shirou Tsunashima
See my review of the light novel here for my general thoughts on the story, since it's adapted pretty faithfully. I do think the manga is overall the best experience though, because the illustrations break up the detailed explanations of quantum mechanics a bit, and it includes a bit of extra content that fleshes things out, especially withthe ending.
The Single Life: 60 year old lesbian who is single and living alone by Akiko Morishima
Just like it says on the tin, this focuses on a 60-year-old single lesbian. And definitely the shortest thing on here, since only one 30 page chapter is out.  It's a grounded story about a woman looking back on her journey to finding her identity, touching on sexism in the workplace and other challenges. It paints a portrait of a proudly gay elder who's still perfectly content being single and feels fulfilled by the life she had rather than regretting past relationships. I definitely want to see more.
Daemons of the Shadow Realm by Hiromu Arakawa
Arakawa's latest, the story is about a boy who lives in a small village with his little sister is imprisoned and has to carry out a mysterious duty...but then the village is attacked, supernatural daemons awaken, and everything he knows might be wrong. I'm enjoying this fun romp so far! It delivers an really nice plot twist right out the gate (and an excellent subversion of the usual shonen "must-protect-my-saintly-sister" narratives). It boasts Arakawa's usual fun cast and interesting world (and cool ladies). There's some slight tone and pacing issues in the first part- there's so much time spent explaining mechanics the lead doesn't really get to react to his life turning upside down. But it starts smoothing out by the second volume. I'm excited to see what's next!
Superman: Space Age by Mark Russell and Michael Allred
This is a retelling of Superman set throughout the late fifties to early eighties that has Superman interact with the political and social upheaval of the time and question his own role in things. It explored the Superman mythos through a lot of cool new angles, and has a good Lois (why yes she would break Watergate) which is how I always measure a Superman adaptation. My one complaint is, while I liked some of the things it did with Batman, the ending with the Joker was pretty weak. The ending of the overall comic will also be bizarre for anyone not uses to how weird comics can get, but I think I dug it.
#DRCL by Shin'ichi Sakamoto
A manga retelling of Dracula that focuses on Mina as the protagonist and imagines the characters at an English prep school. It adds a lot of  diversity to the characters  and has exquisite, evocative art. I'm curious where it will go and what it  intends to do with all it's changes (especially Lucy), because right now it's mostly vibes and creepiness and the direction isn't clear.

Prompt List               MasterList         Buy me a Coffee
Tumblr media
“Watch where you’re going.” You heard the all too familiar taunting voice of Song Mingi. You look up at him scowling, paying no attention to your lunch that was now all down the front of you. “You walked into me!” You yell back to him as he walks off giving you an eye roll over his shoulder. You don’t know what you ever did to Mingi to make him hate you so much but ever since you started school together he’s made it his personal mission to make your life a living hell, if he’s not knocking your food down you or shoving you into walls he’s shouting abuse at you in the corridors. The fact he had the audacity to just shrug you off like that made your blood boil, you slam your now empty tray down on the table next to you before matching up to him to get in his face, which didn’t really happen since he towered over you but you didn’t let his height intimidate you as you shoved his shoulder. “What the fuck is your problem with me!?” You scream at him letting all your rage spill out. He takes a quick unbothered glance around the room, your outburst drawing in a lot of attention from other students and when he didn’t answer you straight away you gave him another shove. “I asked you a question, not only are you an asshole but you’re deaf now too?” He gave you a low chuckle before leaning down to you bringing himself down to eye level with you. “So annoying.” He quipped before pressing a finger to your forehead shoving you away from him.
You were about to take a swing at him, your hand balling up into a fist at your side until you were stopped by your best friend Jongho. “Y/n...Don’t.” He warned, his eyes widening as he sees the fire in your eyes only for it to be amped up even more by Mingi’s laughs. “Aww look at that your boyfriend has come to keep you out of trouble how sweet.” He mocks before walking away from you completely. You didn’t know if you should feel pissed or embarrassed, since Mingi found out you had a crush on your best friend he found every opportunity he could to bring it up, luckily for you Jongho didn’t believe a word of it thinking it was just Mingi trying to get under your skin again, but you could never overcome the nauseous feeling you felt every time he brought it up just in case one day Jongho believed him. “Come on we need to get you cleaned up.” You hear Jongho say softly as he tugs at your arm beckoning you to follow him. “But I...” You try to argue still wanting to smack that smug look right off of Mingi’s face but the look in Jongho’s eyes made you stop in your tracks as you agree with him.
“Thanks for letting me borrow your shirt.” Say stuffing your now soiled shirt into your bag. “You’re just lucky I have gym today.” Jongho laughs as he looked down at the gym top he now had on. It was times like this that you were reminded why you fell for Jongho in the first place, he was your best friend, he understood you and cared about you in ways no one else did and not to mention he kept you from getting yourself into shit. You would have confessed to him a long time ago, that was before he confided in you about a crush he had on this girl in his math class, granted as soon as he told you your heart fell to your feet but you couldn’t even bring yourself to be upset over it, he seemed so happy when he talked about her, you knew his feelings all to well so being the amazing best friend you are you supported him and decided to just admire him from afar in hopes one day you’ll get over him. “Don’t let him get to you.” You look up at Jongho a little confused since just moments ago your mind was elsewhere. “Mingi, I know he grips your shit but the more you bite back the more he’ll do it.” You avert your eyes from Jongho you knew he was right, that’s exactly what a bully like Mingi does as long as they force a response out of you they’ll carry on, but at the same time you didn’t want to be his doormat and let him get away with the way he treats you. You sigh defeated and nod in agreement. “I’ll try.” Jongho smiled at your reluctant agreement. “Just know that next time you get detention for squaring up to him I’m not gonna bail you out, you gotta learn on your own.” He laughs nudging your shoulder light heartedly making you smile. The bell for your next class goes off as you gather your books together groaning to yourself knowing you had Science next and with none other than Mingi himself. “I gotta go I’ll talk to you later, stay out of trouble!” Jongho yells over his shoulder to you as he jogs off to his next class.
You take your usual seat at the back of the class next to the window groaning quietly to yourself as you watch Mingi walk through the door and take his seat the other side of the room from you, just looking at him made your blood boil. You try to shrug it all off as your teacher walked in and took his place in front of the board. “Okay class, today I have a new project for you. I have an experiment for each of you to work on, they’re all different.” He starts as he walks along the desks handing out the papers. “Oh and this project will be done in pairs, the name of your partner is on the sheet.” You groan and drop your head to your desk as you look at the paper placed in front of you seeing your name next to Mingi’s. Could today get any worse? You hear a small laugh from across the room, lifting your head up to turn your attention to the source your eyes were met with Mingi’s as he lightly chuckles to himself at the unfortunate pairing, probably plotting in his head ways to make this whole project torture for you.
You were thankful that this session was just the teacher running you all through each of the experiments telling you what to do and what he was expecting from you. You relaxed a bit knowing you didn’t have to deal with Mingi just yet. The bell rang signalling the end of the day and you wasted no time in throwing your stuff in your bag and hurrying out the door. “Hey!” You heard a voice call you just as you were about to run out the doors of the school. You turn on your heels only to be met with Mingi sauntering over to you, but he didn’t look like his usual self, he didn’t seem to have his signature cocky smirk plastered over his face. “What do you want?” You huff out annoyed. “Where’s your boyfriend?” He lightly laughs as he approaches you looking around for Jongho. Not wanting to deal with this you turn to walk away and just as you step through the door you feel Mingi wrap his hand around your wrist. You couldn’t control the sheer look of disgust on your face as you snatched your arm away from his grasp, safe to say your actions had him taken aback slightly as he raised his hands yielding to you. “Fuck off will you.” You spit at him finally being able to take your leave. The soft sound of his footsteps behind you piss you off more than they should, you knew you both had to walk in the same direction to the gate but knowing how close he was behind you got to you. Just as you turned the corner at the gate to head home you were stopped again by his voice piping up. “You’re too good for him you know.” You turn to look at him bewildered, what did he mean by that? “You should forget your little crush on Jongho, he’s not good enough for you.” And with that he was gone.
That night you couldn’t sleep, Mingi’s words swirling around in your head had you overthinking shit again. The guy hated you so why all of a sudden did he feel you were “Too good” for your own best friend. Was this just another one of his mind games? A new way to get under your skin? The thought crossed your mind briefly that maybe Mingi liked you but you were quick to push that aside especially after recalling the incident in the cafeteria earlier that day, so you settled on your conclusion that it was just him being an ass again.
The next day you were dreading turning up for class seeing as your first session was science once again. Today was the day you had to “play nice” with Mingi just to pass the class. You threw yourself down in your seat looking around the room seeing how your teacher had moved the room around slightly pushing desks together to make working in pairs easier. It took you a while to psyche yourself up, closing your eyes and taking deep breaths to calm yourself as you waited for Mingi to walk through the door. Your eyes snap open when you hear the chair next to you move and a low huff leave his mouth as he gets his books out. “Morning.” He bluntly says keeping his gaze away from you. You shoot him a glare folding your arms over your chest humming in response. “You know you’re gonna have to talk to me if you want to pass right?” You roll your eyes before turning to face him. “Morning, happy now?” And there it was again, that damn smirk. He was so cock sure of himself and you weren’t sure you were going to be able to survive to see the end of the project quickly debating in your head if you should ask your teacher if you could swap partners. “I meant what I said yesterday mind.” Mingi starts as he flicks through his textbook not noticing your eyes widen as you slowly turn to face him. “Am I right in assuming he likes that blonde girl in his class?” Your mouth opened slightly as he spoke. How did he know about Jongho’s crush? Was he eavesdropping on you both to get dirt on you? “What’s it to you?” You mumble playing with your pencil fighting the urge to jab him with it. “I’m just saying if I’m right and if that’s really the type of girl he falls for then he doesn’t deserve your feelings.” Was this really Mingi you were talking to? His tone was soft and he seemed like he meant every words that left his lips. Your mind was all over the place at this point, you felt flattered even though you tried so hard not to.
The rest of the session went a lot better than you expected, you didn’t feel like killing Mingi and if anything you felt that if he carried on like this maybe, just maybe, you could eventually warm up to him. On his own he didn’t seem all that bad, you were able to sort of hold a conversation with him, even if it was just about the project, and what surprised you most was he really did try in class, it was like he wanted to pass this subject just as much as you did. As the bell rang to start your first break you gathered your stuff together and left without a word to Mingi, a small part of you felt bad but at the same time you couldn’t just forget how he treated you before, this was going to take time. “Y/n.” Mingi called before turning to walk out the door of the building. “Don’t forget about what I said.” You nod lightly watching him walk off. “What was that about?” Jongho asks popping out of nowhere scaring the life out of you. “What?” You ask catching your breath as Jongho points between you and Mingi. “That. You weren’t about to kill each other, you seemed...civil.” You simply shrugged in response, you didn’t know yourself what was going on, one minute Mingi is being the biggest asshole around and the next he’s being, dare you say it, nice?
The whole "nice Mingi" act didn’t last long once he was reunited with his friends, all it took was for you and Jongho to walk past him before a wave of abuse came flooding your way once again. Jongho took a quick glance over to you waiting to jump into action if you decided to retaliate, but to his surprise you bit your tongue and walked off like Mingi wasn't even there. "You're not gonna snap back at him?" Jongho asked sounding impressed by your sudden attitude change. "For once I'll take your advice, but if he keeps on after I've ignored him for a while then I'll beat the shit out of him." Jongho couldn't help but chuckle at the threat, he could just picture it now you on top of Mingi pinning him to the floor as you beat the ever living shit out of him. “Just remember I won’t be coming to your rescue.”
“It’ll be so worth it.” You laugh as you both make your way over to your lockers. “So.” Jongho starts leaning against the locker next to yours. “Are you going to tell me what all that was about earlier, you know, you and Mingi.” He was not accepting the shrug you gave him earlier he knew there were details, details that you weren’t telling him. “Really I don’t know what happened, we got paired together in science, I was going to ask if I could swap partners but then he started talking and...I don’t know, he wasn’t being a dick. He wasn’t treating me the way he usually does, he was...tolerable.” You try explaining best you could earning you a raised eyebrow from Jongho. “A guy like Mingi doesn’t just stop being a dick just like that and sure as hell not for no reason.” You had to admit you were thinking the same thing, it was out of character for him but what he said about you and Jongho made you rethink everything. “And what did he mean by remembering what he said?” You froze on the spot, refusing to look at Jongho as you felt your heart hit the floor. There was no way you could explain it to Jongho without outing yourself for having a crush on him and possibly ruining your friendship, you had to think of something to say, and fast. “Oh that.” You laugh nervously, hoping Jongho didn’t catch on to the way your voice shook. “It really was nothing it was just an idea he had about the experiment, we agreed to try it out next time.” You could see Jongho clearly wasn’t buying your story, and you didn’t blame him, but you huff out a light relieved sigh when he doesn’t try to dig deeper into it.
The bell rang once again signalling the end of break, well at least for most students, you on the other hand had a free period so you decided that was a good a time as ever to start to write up your experiment findings so far. You said a quick goodbye to Jongho as he rushed off to class before taking your time grabbing what you needed to head over to the library. Walking through the corridor on your own you started to hum a song lightly to yourself to fill the silence only for it to be cut short. You felt a hand grab your arm and next thing you knew you were getting pulled into darkness.
As the door shut you were about to scream when a hand covered your mouth. “Don’t make a sound.” The low voice whispered in your ear so close you could feel the breath on your neck. It took you a moment to recognise the voice and once you did you saw red again. “Don’t tell me what to do.” You hissed in response, sharply pulling your hand away from him. You wish your eyes didn’t adjust to the dim lighting because now you were face to face with Mingi, his voice was enough to get you pissed off again but his face just added fuel to the fire. “What the fuck are you doing?” You asked stepping closer doing your best to try and intimidate him. “I wanted to talk.” Was he crazy? Who does shit like this just to talk. “And you couldn’t have just talked to me somewhere else, you know, like a normal person instead of dragging me into the janitors closet.” Mingi just gave a breathy laugh in response as he leaned down to eye level with you, noses so close they could almost touch. “I didn’t want to raise any suspicions. Everyone thinks we hate each other so us having a casual chat would raise some red flags don’t you think?”
“What and getting caught together in the janitors closet won’t?” You tried desperately to keep up your annoyance but the sudden close proximity had you thrown, the closet was small so as it was you were both practically pressed against each other and now with how close his face was you didn’t know what to do. The silence between you both went on for what felt like hours, the moment purely consisted of Mingi’s face being dangerously close to yours as he repeatedly scanned over your face. You wanted to push him away but something in you was stopping you. “Tell me something.” You said breaking the silence. “What did you mean by I’m too good for Jongho?” Lucky for Mingi the lighting in the room was poor as the blush now creeping up his face would have given him away in an instant. You could hear his nervous shuffles as he tried to think of a response. “Exactly what I said earlier, a guy like him doesn’t deserve a girl like you.”
“But what does THAT mean Mingi.” His heart was beating so hard he was surprised you couldn’t hear it. “I’ve seen you with him, you’re caring and willing to fight for him, and you always look so happy with him, but he clearly can’t see that if he’s too busy looking at that bitch.” You were taken aback by everything, his voice was soft and not cocky like it usually is and the fact he noticed small things about you had you second guessing how you felt towards him. “But that still doesn’t make sense, so what if Jongho doesn’t see it, what does it matter?” You could slightly see the way Mingi brought his hands up to rub his face in frustration as you spoke. “It matters because instead of always looking at someone who isn’t interested you should be looking at someone who is.” You can’t help but scoff at him. “Oh yeah? Someone like who?” Your eyes widened when you felt his hands grip at your waist pulling you into him. “Someone like me.” You couldn’t believe what you were hearing, THE Song Mingi liked you? After all the shit he put you through and he drops this on you. “You’re lying, you’re not interested in me, you’ve made my life hell for years, why would you do that if you like me.” Now it was Mingi’s turn to scoff at you. “The only reason I acted like that was to get you to hate me.” You tilted your head in confusion. “I felt if you hated me I’d be able to get over once and for all, but clearly that didn’t work.” Everything was starting to make sense, well a little bit anyway. He was always around, it didn’t matter where in the school you were Mingi was never too far behind, and thinking about it now all the abuse he used to throw at you always seemed to include Jongho. “So all the horrible shit you’ve been saying to me this whole time?”
“Majority of it was directed at Jongho, yes. Watching you chase after him all this time just pissed me off, I just wanted him to notice you, see you like I do.” Your hear swelled, the world’s biggest asshole was really a huge softy. “Mingi...I.” You were cut off when he shook his head, ever so slowly closing the gap between you. “You don’t need to say anything.” And with that the gap was closed. The soft feel of his lips against yours had you so stunned you didn’t react, you stood in his arms rigid and eyes wide. Not feeling you respond Mingi pulls away fast stepping away from you fully. “I’m sorry, I had no right.” You watched as he hung his head in embarrassment but didn’t let it sit there for too long before you closed the gap yourself.
The kiss surprised him but that didn’t stop him instantly melting into it wrapping an arm around your waist as his other came up to the back of your neck in an attempt to deepen the kiss. You didn’t know when or how the mood changed, one minute the kiss was simple and the next your tongues were fighting for dominance and the atmosphere becoming needier. pulling away breathless you try to work his belt off him. “Y/n, what are you doing?” Mingi purrs peppering small kisses along your cheek. “I need you...Now.” But as soon as you stop speaking you stop your movements realising he may not want the same. “I mean...ah shit... If you...” You were cut off with another hungry kiss. “You don’t know how long I’ve wanted this, but we’ll have to be quick...we are in a closet after all.” You both giggle lightly remembering the reality of the situation.
Neither of you wasted any time returning to the hungry kiss as you finished working his belt and jeans freeing him from his confines before swiftly moving your hand to pump his cock. The low groan that left Mingi went straight to your core, soaking you already. You wanted to tease him so bad, call it revenge if you must, but the best you could do for now was slow down suddenly, moving painfully slow up and down his cock toying with his tip every time you reached it. “No time.” Mingi growled into your ear before hastily hoisting you up by your thighs, pinning you between him and the wall. Snaking a hand up your skirt to your underwear he doesn’t waste a second moving them to the side as he runs his cock over your slit. “Shit, so wet already.” He says breathless with a smirk plastered on his face. You didn’t respond, the feeling of him against you and the way his tip would slightly brush your clit now and again had you too busy concentrating on being quiet. Sliding into you, you couldn’t help but let out a loud gasp, one that Mingi had to quickly shush with a kiss. The stretch was amazing, better than anything you’d had before. He gave you a moment to adjust, making sure his lips never left yours, the kiss turning comforting as he helped you to relax. “Are you okay?” His voice was so soft you could just about hear him. Nodding in response he slowly started to move. Pumping in and out of you as you once again tried to keep your composure, biting down on your lip to stop from crying out. The way he glided in and out of you with ease had your head spinning and with each harsh thrust he grazed your sweet, leaving it completely before coming back to graze it again. “F...Fuck.” You moan out a little too loud causing Mingi to quickly cover your mouth with his hand. As if your head wasn’t reeling enough his pure strength holding you up with only one arm turned your brain to mush.
Picking up his pace he started to rut into you like there was no tomorrow, you could only hope no one was in the room next to you as each thrust he gave had you hitting the wall behind you with force. Kissing your neck he groaned into your neck trying to muffle himself while also trying to muffle your moans that were now progressively getting louder despite his hand being over your mouth. You could feel the knot in your stomach start to build as Mingi pounded into you. Your moans boosted his ego making him start to become cocky again. “Could he make you feel as good as I do?” He growls in your ear before delivering a harsh thrust that knocks the air from your lungs. “So...So good.” Was all you could manage to cry out through his hand earning you a smirk from Mingi. The sight of you crumbling in his arms was enough to make him cum but he held off for as long as he physically could despite his high rushing up on him. “I’m so close baby.” He growled again nipping at your neck. You simply nod your head between cries signalling to him you were the same, the knot in your stomach threatening to snap at any second. “I’ll move my hand if you promise to be quite.” Your eyes were pleading as you bit down on your lip ready to keep yourself quiet as he moved his hand away from you.
The task of staying quiet was deemed impossible as the hand that was over your mouth now found purchase on your clit, rubbing harsh circles pushing you to your breaking point. Your hands tangled in his hair, tugging harshly as you put all your energy into something other than screaming out his name. It didn’t take long before the knot snapped and your legs trembled around his waist as he fucked you through your high, the only sound coming from you being a pathetic whine. The way your walls clenched around him sent him almost to his breaking point. Pulling out from you, he pumped himself until he painted your inner thigh with his cum as he pressed his forehead to yours a long low groan leaving him.
“Holy shit.” You breath out with a smile as you scanned over what you could see of his face. “That was...amazing.” Mingi panted still letting himself come around before letting you down. Once he did he quickly turned to his side finding a roll of paper towels to help clean you up. You couldn’t stop the sweet smile on your face as he did so. Not 2 hours ago you wanted to kill him and now he’s just finished railing you in a janitors closet and handling you as if you were glass, this whole turn in his personality had you feeling something, something you weren’t 100% sure what it was. After cleaning you up he turns back to you giving you a quick peck. “We should get out of here before someone finds us.” You nod in agreement as you watch him turn to open the door for you. “So do you still hate me?” Mingi asks turning to face you once you stepped out from the closet. “No I don’t hate you.” You smile. The both of you share a look for a moment, something that yet again you couldn’t quite put your finger on what it was. You look at the clock noticing you still had 40 minutes to get your work done in the library so you quickly excused yourself before turning on your heels and walking off. “Y/n wait.” Mingi calls back to you making you turn again to face him. “What happens now?” You smile, knowing now was your time to be the tease, just like he had been all along. “Well I guess you’re my dirty secret.” You smile shooting him a wink before walking off leaving him where he stood, a smiling mess.

⤷ ✧ My Pearl
Female reader (she/her pronouns used)
- order 78 | one-shot | Silver
Note: Happy one year anniversary!! I can’t believe it’s been a year. This is actually one of my earliest works and I decided to fix it up and post it. I can’t tell if I’ve gotten worse or better at writing lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why exactly was there a drama class in Night Raven? It seemed so out of place for a magic academy. But no one else thought the same.
“It is an academy after all.”
“Just cause it’s magic doesn’t mean every class has to revolve around it.”
Maybe it’s just because you’re an outsider? Nonetheless, you just to happened to have it as an elective. Since you were lumped in as a first year, you had classes with only first years. But electives had people of all different grades and classes.
Despite your attempts of finding a first year friend in one of your other classes, there appeared to be none amongst this group of 24 people. Only people from other grades and other classes. You were just about to submit to loneliness before you saw a glimpse of grey hair and a thud.
You looked to the entrance to the class and see someone dropped a box of supplies, some of it happened to roll underneath you. You immediately crouched down and gathered up the random items off the floor and handed it to him.
His eyes widened at you. “Thank you..”
“Your welcome, Silver!”
He seemed taken aback when you said his name which made you nervous. “Forgive me. Erm… What's your name?”
Ah… He completely forgot you. At least he recognized you?
“It’s MC…”
“I’ll make sure to remember that.” He said sincerely.
Being in the same class, you figured you should stay around him. You never had many opportunities to talk to upperclassmen or even befriend them. Maybe this is your chance?
“Do you have this class too?”
“Yes..”
You invited silver to sit beside you for this class. It was open sitting since it is a drama class. You stared at him for a moment before speaking up again. “So Silver, did you choose this elective?”
It took him a tap on the shoulder but he responded.
“No.”
“O-Oh… Then how did you end up here?”
“I allowed a… friend… to pick what classes I take.“ He responded with a distant tone. You tried to hide your disappointment in every response he gave. He seemed so indifferent to you. He didn’t seem to like you in the slightest.
Suddenly the whole class went silent which didn’t go unnoticed by either of you. You heard the clicking of heels and suddenly a bright light, or maybe that was just for imagination?
“Vil Schoenheit…”
“W-Wait he’s in this class?!”
Whispers of him echoed throughout the classroom and you turned to see Silver's reaction. He seems rather unphased but weary.
After the teacher moved away from the teacher’s podium, he stepped up and cleared his throat.
“Allow me to be frank, if you expect an easy class to goof around in everyday, go drop out. Whether you like it or not, you’re all going to be pushed out of your comfort zones.”
The mood in the class dropped in an instant and Vil seemed to enjoy that reaction.
“A play? Between a prince and a princess.”
“Yes, and we’re having a discussion on who should be who. Sit up, Silver.”
You felt like a nuisance and a pest judging by how tired and annoyed he seemed with you every day.
Though, he should be considered lucky with how Vil Schoenheit didn’t personally wake him up like he did with another student.
Silver turned his chair around and faced in the same direction as everyone else.
“Princess Ava seems hella sensitive. You know, that one scene where she starts crying.”
“Then Prince Ethan skips sword practice to comfort her. That’s a little dramatic…”
You glanced at Silver every so often. He seemed disinterested in this whole class and felt bad. What if he would have a better experience of you just didn’t talk to him? Maybe you’re making him look bad?
“Well no offense but I don’t think anyone wants to play a girl, Schoenheit.” Some guy said. Before Vil could interject, someone else spoke up.
“Yeah, if anything, then an actual girl should play it.” Another guy pointed at you.
“Wait a minute. Me?”
“Well yeah. You’re a girl.”
“Besides, doesn’t she kinda fit the descriptions of Ava already? The hair, the eyes, and a princess-ish face.”
“Wait, that's a far-fetched statement there!”
“I vote for MC to be Ava!” Someone stood up and shouted. A few cheers of agreements sprouted up until there was no denying the role anymore. You were now being one of the main leads in a play. You put your head down in defeat and tried to drown out the rest of the discussion.
“Now that the role for Ava is decided. We’re moving onto Ethan.” Vil declared. In total, that role has 143 lines to memorize. While your role had 128 lines. So whoever would play Ethan would get the most lines.
“Isn’t Ethan supposed to be quiet…? Why the hell does he have so many lines?”
“He’s also a good sword fighter supposedly. Hey wait, Raymond, aren’t you good at sword fighting?”
“Wait a damn minute! Don’t you try to force that role onto me! Silver is way better than me!”
Everyone’s head turned in his direction and Silver nearly jumped back. “For real?” Someone asked. “Yeah, Silver really could kill me if he wanted to. He also has a close enough resemblance to Ethan, don’t you guys agree?” The guy said urgently.
“Wait what do you mean—?”
“Silver should be Ethan!”
“Agreed!”
People chimed in to agree with the statement. Silver’s protests were drowned out quickly and before he knew it, his name was written down, officially casting him as Ethan.
You slowly turned your head towards Silver. He grimaced and begrudgingly picked up his script as if it were infected with a virus.
Oh god, would Crowley let you drop out?
The moment he took a step through the door. His whole body nearly shut down in pure shock. You stood there with a sheepish smile and helped him with his mess. What were you doing here?
He accepted the fact he most likely would never come close to you ever again. He knew Sebek would have many opportunities but his chances were little to none. He kept it all in. How he felt about you.
You were simply amazing. You were rambunctious but just enough so it’s not over the top. You had guts. You were suddenly thrown into a world and adapted quicker than he ever could.
Not only that, you were undeniably charming. You didn’t even realize how you completely captured his respect during Leona’s overblot.
He didn’t know when the fight would end. He was a human and compared to Sebek, his stamina runs short. Leona sent another attack, sand and dirt flying everywhere and for a moment he couldn’t see. He stumbled back, dropping his pen onto the floor, trying to get rid of the sand in his eyes.
A figure from the sand cloud sprinted out and yelled in urgency. “Silver!” You quickly swept up his fallen pen and shoved him out the way from Leona’s attack. He opened his eyes to see you shield him from the flying debris.
“Be careful.” You said out of breath, shoving his pen back into his hands.
Seeing you made him realize. He didn’t even learn your name.
He, by all means, respects you for what you did.
Though, he wished to be closer to you. He really wished things would go slower and maybe not close in this way..?!
He awkwardly wrapped his arm around you as you put your forehead against his shoulder. “I’m sorry… You don’t need to bother yourself with me. I know I’m nothing but a nuisance.”
“W-What are you saying?”
“I know, I’m too sensitive. I’m not beautiful like my sisters. I’m not as social as them either… I-I!” Your eyes squeezed shut. “Forgot my next line…”
Everyone around you groaned as you sighed and shrugged. “Really, you can’t remember your lines?!” A guy yelled at you as he handed you your script. “Try having to memorize and act out all these things. Maybe then you’d understand.”
Silver went to your side and looked at his own script. “My Pearl” is a play about a talented prince and a young, anti-social princess from another kingdom. The princess, Ava, is the youngest of all her sisters. She grew up feeling inferior to her sisters due to being the youngest and being less attractive than her three other siblings.
The prince, Ethan, was a gifted child. He received three gifts. Mastery in swordsmanship, silver hair that sparkles in the light, and the ability to see the beauty in people's hearts.
A marriage is arranged between Princess Ava and Prince Ethan. It sprouts in a seemingly one-sided love, Prince Ethan trying his hardest to show her his true feelings.
Cute story.
But not when you have to act it out with someone you deeply admire.
Despite often being so close, you never seemed to catch on to his fast heart beat and his stiff gestures.
“Both of you need to really focus on what the characters say and why they say it! The script isn’t just lines to memorize, it’s responses to the situation.”
“What do you mean?!”
“If you don’t know then you need to reevaluate your skills as an actor.”
“I never intended to be an actor in the beginning…”
“You’re such a child.” Vil scoffed “Silver, you need to connect with the story more.”
Silver raised an eyebrow at the comment. “You seem to be dazing off. It’s bothersome. You’re here, and you’re Prince Ethan.” Vil firmly said as he turned around and went to scold the rest of the members.
You regretted ever taking the suggestion to choose theater as an elective. “Cater made this sound easy…” You said to yourself as you looked down at your lines.
“Silver? Is that you?” You asked out loud in a dimly lit room. You soon realized it www though he was in no condition to speak.
“He’s sleeping at this hour? That’s a bit early.”
You intended to leave but you noticed something white laying around his head.
Sorry Silver, hope you don’t mind.
You entered his room and knelt down to inspect what it was.
You scanned the words across the paper and soon came to recognize the words. “He was practicing the script…?” You said quietly to yourself. A smile played across your face as you stared at his sleeping expression.
“Ow!”
“W-Wait..?! MC is that you?”
You held your face and rolled on the side. Kudos to him for his quick reaction. You should’ve never let your guard down. You sat yourself up as Silver grabbed your wrists and went to check if your face was ok.
“A-Are you ok?!”
“I don’t know… What do you think?” You begrudgingly removed your hands off your face, your face retorted with pain and small tears at the corners of your eyes.
He immediately lifted you up and sat you down on the bed. “Where did I hit you?” He shakily asked.
Your small groans in pain suddenly stopped for a short moment. As you moved one of your hands down, you opened your mouth to speak.
“Will you still think I’m pretty… even after this?”
You squeezed your eyes shut.
Why did I say that?! Ahh… I better tell him so he—
“I could never think that.”
He didn’t seem to even bat an eye at the random response, incidentally he responded right in character.
“How could I ever think that of you?” He asked with a tilt in his head. You breathed out and put your hand down on your lap.
“People say your hair is as beautiful as silver, you have a golden heart, and you're more graceful than any prince I’ve seen. I know it’s all true because I’ve experienced myself. Then there’s me, your soiled fiancé, after I’ve been thrown away by another, we married solely to keep peace between kingdoms. Married to a woman like me, it’s ruining your public—“
“MC.”
Eh? He said my name?
He harshly yet tenderly wrapped his arms around you. His neck nestled into your neck, chills ran down your arms.
“I’m sorry.” He sharply said.
“Wow, talk about soap operas. That isn’t nothing compared to these two! Isn’t that right, Sebek?”
“How dare you do this in the presence of other people?!”
“W-Wait this isn’t what it looks like!!”
“Apologies , it is so, so late and I believe I should be heading back Ramshackle!”
“Absolutely! Leave immediately! How would the young master react to seeing such shameless actions?”
You quickly scrambled away from his room and nearly tripped on your way out. Silver closed his eyes and turned the other way.
“Silver. What was that?”
“Script. F-For class. We were rehearsing, I swear.”
“Is it now? Hehehehe..”
“Silver, MC, it’s almost time for you two.”
“Alright, thank you.”
You let out a sigh then sat down on a chair. Your legs were shaking and it struggled to contain your deep breathing.
“MC, you look unwell.” Silver said as he spotted you. He wasted no time kneeling down in front of you and attempted to get a look at your face.
“You look pale.” He muttered under his breath. “Are you really this nervous?” He asked with concern in his tone.
“Erm… I’ve never ever done something like this before. Stepped up in front of a big audience and performed or presented… I never had to do that.”
“Never?”
It made him wonder about your past, though it was no time to ask about that. He thought about the times he was like this.
What would Lilia do…?
“Close your eyes, MC.” Silver commanded. You reluctantly complied and closed your eyes. You heard a bit of shuffling around before you felt a tap on your forehead.
Suddenly, you were in control of your whole body again. There was no longer a pit in your stomach or were your legs trembling.
“What did you do?” You asked in amazement.
“Ah… Back then when I was a boy and got hurt, Old Man— Lilia, used a spell on me. It works well, doesn’t it?” He confessed with a smile.
You put your hand against your chest and stared in gratitude. “Now come on, we need to get on stage about now.” Silver beckoned as he stood up from his kneeling position and held his hand out to you.
He really does look like a prince like this…
You couldn’t help but naturally gravitate towards him. “Yes, I’m ready!”
“Excellent.” He led you to the side and bowed. He was about to go to the right wing but before he could, you shouted.
“Meet you on stage!”
“Yeah, meet you on stage.”

dQw4w9WgXcQ, that is so hysterical, like, imagine Sayaka giving a totally in-character speech about how killing Makoto wouldn't bring hope or some shit, and instead of Junko & Mukuro, Class №78 has himself/his oc, with some offhanded dialogue, saying that a fashionista and soldier girl died in a bus crash or something. There's also what other fics he'd write, several dozen Komaegi oneshots, just as many Kamukoma ships, a oneshot about Makoto entering Hope's Peak, with more than 60% of it just being his inner monologue about how amazing this school and Ultimates are, etc. Plus, there's also what the comments would be like, so magical~
He’s a very controversial author, doubly is when people go through his accounts history and realize he’s a remnant, chaos ensues

Books of 2022
In 2022, I read fewer books overall (143, down from last year’s ridiculous 303) but I did manage to cut down on my romance novel reading---a respectable 52% instead of last year’s 78%. The consequence of this is that I did actually read more good books this year, books I could talk about with other people and inspired feelings and thoughts that rattled around my head afterwards. Plus some actual nonfiction!
Going through all of them, what I liked about them, why they made such an impression, would take a while---plus I’ve already talked about most of these in my books tag. So I’m just going to invite everyone to ask about anything that catches their eye!
BEST FICTION (IN THE ORDER I READ THEM) ** indicates a particular favorite
The House of Small Shadows, Adam Nevill
**The Cipher, Kathe Koja
Eartheater, Dolores Reyes

**Burning Girls and Other Stories, Veronica Schanoes
Eva Ibbotson’s A Countess Below Stairs, A Company of Swans, & Magic Flutes
Deerskin, Robin McKinley
BEST NONFICTION

**Fun Home, Alison Bechdel
**Men, Women & Chainsaws, Carol J. Clover
[romance novels and most disliked books under the cut---I did give these a bit of an explanation, because being asked about romance novels makes me itchy. We shall never speak of these again.]
ROMANCE NOVEL READING
Vivienne Lorret (How to Forget a Duke, Ten Kisses to Scandal, The Rogue to Ruin, When a Marquess Loves a Woman, How to Steal a Scoundrel's Hear) Admittedly, nothing particularly unique about these---however, they are more traditional romance and a pretty decent attempt at actual regency-style manners, so I enjoyed myself reading them.
Olivia Atwater (Half a Soul, Ten Thousand Stitches, Longshadow) I actually sincerely loved these! Supernatural historical romance from a solid writer. Plus, the series has angrier, more class-conscious sensibilities than all the romance novels I've read---and is less hypocritical about it too, since the characters are largely not nobility, and there's no marrying dukes involved.
Alice Coldwater (His Forsaken Bride, An Ill-Made Match, The Unlovely Bride, Wed By Proxy) So admittedly, I don’t recommend reading all four of these together---it becomes increasingly clear that Coldwater can only write one and a half heroines, and both of them are excessively weepy. Nevertheless, I took a total leap of faith on this (historical fantasy romance isn't typically my genre) and was rewarded by a lot of delightful pining, some court politics, and the 1.5 heroines she can write are fun to follow around.
C.L. Wilson (The Winter King, The Sea King) If last year was about reading every romance novel about dukes I could find, this year was about finding all the fantasy romance novels. (Shout out to Stephanie Garber who also helped feed this inexplicable urge!) Anyway, this series was fun, similar to the above in that it’s fake fantasy politics and some romance, and that’s a combination that works for me.
MOST DISLIKED BOOKS
Redshirts, John Scalzi I have never despised a book quite like this one! I still can't tell if it's the smirkingly obvious Star Trek meta of it all, or the hat on a hat that is the last chapter/coda 1. I did like coda 3, but only because it felt like the only quietly, emotionally sincere part of the whole stupid book.
High Times in the Low Parliament, Kelly Robinson Novellas must be tricky to write---I’ve read a fistful or so, and find them to be wildly variable in quality and effectiveness. That said....the author’s attempt to resolve entrenched political problems via dance made me roll my eyes so hard I strained a muscle. It ruined what might have otherwise been a fun time, since I did like the narrator's charmingly disaffected perspective
Always Be My Duchess, Amalie Howard Emotional honesty and vulnerability has no place in romance novels. I read historical romance specifically so people won’t talk about their feelings, and the fact that romancelandia keeps shoehorning therapy-speak into my regency may in fact be my villain origin story. However, even worse than that is this book’s use of “totally” and "patriarchy" in a completely ahistorical way, betraying a nauseating disinterest in the time period being written about. Worse than even that: the total fucking coward's move it is to write a Pretty Woman fic but then have the heroine be a virgin and not a sex worker at all. God knows we can't be interesting.
Death, Laura Thelassa This one is my own fault. I did think "hey isn't that the romance series with the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse? I read one of those a long time ago; I should give it another shot." (I promise, I regretted it instantly.) However, it is another excellent entry in the long list of cowardly books that refuse to actually lean into enemies to lovers as a trope. Also, if you have undying protagonists? they should kill each other more.

Journal entry: Wednesday, April 3rd, 1996
How would you describe love or to be in love? The basic answer with a quick search on the internet may tell you "an intense feeling of deep affection". When you ask someone who is in love what it's like, they will grant you with such information of all the beautiful and positive details of their love, but never the negative aspects of it or how it takes a drastic effect on your life. It seems so positive who wouldn't want to be in love.
Even if it's being in love with a girl who has been there for you since you were kids, and is your bestfriend. The girl who taught you how to get the smell of cigarettes off of you before you got home after a party. The girl who once broke into vour house in the middle of the night because she couldn't sleep, the very same girl who forced you to join the soccer team freshman year because and I quote "the girls on the soccer team are probably hot and I need a wing woman". The girl who is your best friend, and who will only ever love and see you as a best friend.
So now you are stuck writing about her in this journal that ironically, she gave you, and longing for something and someone you know will never have.
"What are you writing?" Nat says while placing her lunch tray down, smiling down at you when she realized you were still using the journal she bought you. "Uhh, a grocery list" you coughed out, and she gave you a look clearly stating I don't believe you. She looks over your shoulder to read what you're writing and with speed you quickly slam your book shut. "I just saw the word love on your grocery list, so unless you're buying a boyfriend that isn't a grocery list" she chuckled as she observed you trying to think of a response.
Just as you opened your mouth to speak, a voice interrupted you.
"Hey guys!!" you let out a long breath and your shoulders slumped, now that the attention was no longer on you but on misty. "Whatcha talking about?"
"How perfect your timing is" you beamed, grateful for the girl's interruption. Misty quickly sat next to Nat rambling on and on, taking all of Nat's attention off of you and onto her, allowing you to admire the blond sitting next to you without getting caught. you admired how she tried to keep up with what Misty was saying, and the way she was fiddling with her rings, and how she seemed to be overwhelmed with all of the information Misty was telling her. She looked over at you holding eye contact a little before you turned back to your journal to try and hide the red tint rising on your face. Just as you focused back on the words you previously wrote in your journal, Nat touched vour shoulder.
"Your house tonight?" you nodded before responding with "only if I get to pick the movie" giving her a sly smirk. "You always pick the same movie though, that's not fair" she pouts as if to gain sympathy from you. 'It's not my fault The Craft is such a good movie, maybe you just have bad movie taste you ever think of that" she scoffed, resting her hand on her chest and pouted mockingly pretending to be offended. "Your heart is on the left side by the way" you smirked as she moved her hand to cover her heart. “I know that I was just seeing if you knew where your heart was."
"Oh really?" she nodded trying not to smile before continuing "yep, l'Il have you know I passed health with 78, that’s a C plus."
"Wow Nat, a whole C plus good job.” You joked, as soon as you finished your sentence the bell rang, letting you, Nat, and Misty know it was time for the last two classes of the day. "I'll see you at 8 for movie night, don't be late" you said, moving to get to class on time.
"I wouldn't dream of it."

Your phone blared in your ear, informing you that it was time to wake up. You begrudgingly got up from your bed and dragged yourself to the bathroom to get ready. It had been a few months since you moved to Nockfell, and they weren’t anything special. You had spent most of your summer days locked in your room, mourning the loss of your childhood friends, school, and home. Today was the first day of your sophomore year at Nockfell High School, and you were definitely not excited. As you got ready, your chest filled with more and more dread of what was to come in the day ahead of you.
“Morning, sweet pea.” Your mother said with a bright smile. How was she always so chipper in the mornings? Must be all that coffee.
“Morning, Ma.” You replied sleepily, grabbing a cereal bar from the pantry. You didn’t exactly feel like talking, but you knew she’d figure something was wrong if you didn’t make conversation.
“Excited?” She asked curiously, taking a sip of her coffee.
You shook your head slowly, shoving the cereal bar into your mouth hungrily. Why should you be excited? It’s not like you’d make any friends on the first day.
“I’m sure it won’t be as bad as you think.” She said softly, trying to comfort your anxiety.
You shrugged, walking back to your room to then slip on your shoes and grab your backpack. You walked to the front door and waved goodbye to your mom. You opened the door to instantly feel the cold morning air of Nockfell. You sighed and shut the door and began your commute to your new prison. As you approached the large brick building, plenty of kids were already looking at you. “Great…” You thought to yourself. “I’m already being judged.” You took a deep breath and opened the front door to the school, fishing out the paper you got at orientation out of your pocket. Luckily, they gave you your class locations and locker number before school started. “78…” You mumbled to yourself, looking at the paper while making your way down the hallway to try and find Locker 78. As you got closer, counting down the lockers 76, 77… and finally 78, you noticed a strange group of kids your age near your locker. In fact, they were RIGHT next to your locker, almost blocking it. There was a boy with ginger hair and glasses, a girl with long brown hair, a boy who also had long brown hair, and then…there was another. You didn’t really register anything more about the group of kids, why should you? You didn’t get a good look at the last one, they were short and kind of in the middle surrounded by the others. You opened your locker and set down your backpack to bring out your books when you heard whispering from the group.
“Isn’t that the new girl?” Said one.
“She looks nice.” Said another.
You decided to stop eavesdropping, their opinions didn’t matter. You were just trying to get through the day. You pulled out a massive stack of books from your backpack, trying to haul it into your locker. You failed miserably though, dropping them immediately with a loud BANG of the hardcovers.
“Here, let me help you!” A girl said as you kneeled to clean up your mess. You looked up for your eyes to meet hers. They were bright green, shielded by dark eyelashes. She looked down at your books and began to stack them. You immediately panicked.
“No, really it’s fine! You don’t need to help!” You stammered, trying to get the stranger to stop assisting you.
“I know I don’t need to, but I want to.” She replied matter-of-factly, smiling brightly at you while handing you your books. “I’m Ash.”
“…Y/N…” You mumbled, blushing from embarrassment. You didn’t want some random girl to pity your clumsiness.
“Nice to meet you!” She said cheerily, standing up to introduce you to her friends. “This is Todd,” She said, motioning to the redhaired boy with glasses, “Larry,” she continued, referring to the boy with long brown hair, “and that’s Sal!” She concluded, pointing at a…strange (to say the least) looking…boy?
The individual had olive skin, from at least what you could see from their hands and neck. They wore a long sleeved black shirt that was far too large for them, black ripped jeans, and red converse that were littered in doodles. Their wrists were adorned in handmade bracelets, spelling out various words like “punk”, “Sally Face”, and “BFFS”. Their hair was tied back into two electric blue pigtails, with short bangs covering their forehead. But the strangest thing…was their face. Or, what seemed to be a face from what it looked like. They wore a stark-white mask that covered their whole face, with little holes for their eyes and nostrils. You couldn’t tell what material it was made out of, but it looked fairly…medical? You decided to go with the assumption that it was just a strange fashion choice when a voice came from the off-putting mask. It was raspy and deep, yet timid. Okay, so it is a guy!
“Hello.” The boy said, blue eyes glimmering behind the mask. His voice had a tinge of kindness to it. Your eyes roamed over his masked face, taking in little details like scratches and parts where the paint was peeling.
“Yo, earth to new girl. You good, bro?” The boy with long brown hair said while waving his hand in front of your eyes. “Shoot…was I staring?” you thought to yourself.
“Huh? Oh, yeah I’m fine.” You replied, blinking a few times at the masked boy.
“I’d love to stay and chat, but I gotta head to class. See you later guys!” Ash said as she bid farewell to the others, walking to a nearby classroom.
“Me too, I have robotics.” Todd added, leaving the three of you alone.
“What class do ya got, newbie?” Larry questioned, towering over you and looking down at the paper in your hands.
“Oh, I have Geometry. You?” You replied.
“Sick, us too!” He said excitedly, motioning to a door down the hall. “Follow me and Sal.”
You nodded, following them with a slight smile. They seemed…nice. Your anxieties slowly started to melt away with each step you took, feeling more confident in the day ahead of you. You were so wrapped up in these positive thoughts that you didn’t notice the blue-haired boy staring at you while you walked side-by-side.
“Y/N, right?” He asked.
“Huh?” You snapped back to reality, “Oh! Yeah, that’s me. Sal?”
“The one and only.”
You laughed, he seemed cute…and oddly intriguing.
He laughed himself, even if it was only a light chuckle.
You made your way to the classroom and stepped inside. The teacher was sitting at her desk, taking roll. On the whiteboard was written, “Welcome! Feel free to sit anywhere.”
“Wanna sit together?” Sal asked, looking at you and Larry.
You nodded.
“Duh.” Larry snorted.
You all found a group of seats where you sat next to Sal, and Larry sat behind you. You took out a notebook and began to doodle. Sal leaned over and watched you diligently.
“Ignoring us already?” Larry chuckled, looking over your shoulder.
“What? No! Sorry- I just-.”
“Don’t give her a hard time, man.” Sal said with a hint of frustration in his voice. He turned to you. “So, what do you like to do for fun, Miss Y/N?”
This was new. You hadn’t really introduced yourself to anyone in a long time. It took you a second to gather your thoughts. Who were you?
Okay PLEASE SEND REQUESTS!! I’m continuing this story with requests, so tell me who you’d like the reader to be and I’ll continue this!!!
