#kirby#daily kirby#my art#digital#hal laboratory#nintendo#waddle dee#(sort of)#one of my christmas presents was my wife's old desktop computer that she'd beefed up for video games#a while ago granted but still#so I did some more work on getting it set up today and then spent 5 hours playing house flipper :)#big kid computer means I can actually play pc games again#beyond full perfecting cook serve delicious on low graphics lol#also I knew my brother had given me a yakuza game a while ago that I hadn't opened because I was still on my laptop#but it turns out he gave me two yakuza games#so once I get the controller set up I can play yakuza 2 also!#I really enjoyed yakuza 1 except for a couple bs sections in the story and the very very last side mission.#(having a more powerful computer also means once I get the peripherals squared away I can start video captioning)#(and maybe hopefully stream occasionally)#(I really wanna stream my partner playing ace attorney because I want to have his reactions on record for myself lol)#(he loves puzzles and he grew up in the moon logic video game days and he has some background in criminology)#(so either he'll get super into it or he'll absolutely hate it I think lol)#(I've done a very good job of not spoiling anything)#(I know the court segments well but I might keep a guide on the side for the investigation segments)#(I never had that much trouble with them tho cuz I tend to be thorough and methodical)

Shove everything into the Stuff folder and pray it doesn't get blown up by TNT#Grace: Everything. Literally everything. If it exists on the computer it's icon is on the desktop. There is no god here.#Also: Alan keeps his toolbar on the left while Grace's is on the right. PC update time!!
My GPU (Nvidia GTX 970) needed a replacement, which meant a new motherboard meaning a new CPU and memory. So, costly, ... but here's the replacement:
AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT :))
Out with the old, in with the new
My biggest change in my brain is however the monitor set up. I had an old screen, on the left side, as a second monitor. Now, with Ephron's old monitor, I have set my main screen on the left.
(still need to tweak the colour settings)
I'll get used to it quickly I hope!
But yay fancy PC again!! Even the computer store owner said it was a very good choice :D
(the old computer parts are going to a friend who'll reuse them seeing as they still work fine. we just have too many outdated PC's ourselves already)

i can't believe how easy securing that ticket was once i got in after about 40 minutes in the queue.. it was literally the first seat i clicked and it went straight to checkout and was so SO much cheaper than i was expecting for that section i was literally so fucking shook
#mind you i had three computers in the queue#my dad's desktop#my laptop#and my mom's#all signed in to our own accounts#but my dad's PC moved through the queue so much quicker so i was able to get it on his#once the laptops got through they were SOOOOOO slow#god it pays to have a plan#bc i don't think i would have gotten that ticket without his desktop PC with a hard wire lmaooo
