â superhero cartoons to watch when little!!! (or big, they're that good imo!!) â
â§.* i've been wanting to make this list for a while now, mainly because i wanna talk about my fav cartoons/open up opportunities for other littles to find something awesome to watch!!! there's gonna be a lot of ranges in age ratings to add some variety for older/younger littles :)
â§.* also, i'd like to put a disclaimer here and say that a lot of these are on streaming services that i own, but other littles may not. i would also like to say that there are ways to get around a paywall if you can't afford certain streaming services!!! you can find full episodes on youtube/other sites for free!!! (just use an adblocker if you're on a site other than youtube if u can!!)
â§.* another disclaimer: any regressor of any age can watch any of these shows!! i just wanted to put the age ratings for those who want to stick to media that's more in their age range!! so, don't feel like you have to limit yourself from watching certain shows just because of how old you regress to!!
â§.* spectacular spider-man (2008-2009, 2 seasons): suitable for 7-8+, but i'd say it'd be okay for littles who regress younger to watch, too!! honestly, my all-time favorite spider-man cartoon!!! not only is it fun to watch while little, you can truly appreciate the show when you're big, too!!! josh keaton's voicework as spider-man is just- ahhhh it's so amazing imo!! the story is really good, the animation/style is just so iconic, and the colors are very easy on the eyes!!! (especially if you're sensitive to bright colors when little/in general) absolute banger of a theme song, too!!!
â§.* x-men: the animated series (1992-1997, 5 seasons): rated for around 7-8+, but i do admit that there can be some scary scenes for especially younger/more sensitive littles. honestly, this show is great!!! i loved all the different story arcs, how colorful the show is, the characters themselves- a lot of cool stuff about this show!!! be warned, there's a sudden drop in quality during season 5... i think they switched animation studios/va's or something because season 5 is NOT the best season of the show, i'll tell you that... 0_0
â§.* x-men '97 (2024-present, 1 season so far): rated for 14+, so this show is more suitable for teen regressors. it's a continuation of x-men:tas, and oh man... this is it. my favorite cartoon of all time!!! the animation is just oh so beautiful!!! the fight scenes are awesome!!! the soundtrack- oh golly the soundtrack!!! the remastered x-men:tas opening is just- wow!!! but, there's definitely reasons why it's rated 14+... not gonna spoil anything, but there's a lot of scenes in the show that can be upsetting for younger littles. trust me, watching some scenes when you're little is just- too much sometimes... (speaking from experience) it's an amazing show, but watch at ur own risk if you're a younger regressor!!!
â§.* batman: the animated series (1992-1995, 4 seasons): i'd say it's for around ages 9-10+, since it can be fairly dark at times. (same goes for a lot of batman related media!!) honestly, this show's pretty good!!! the style of the show is very dark visually, so it's easy on the eyes for those with bright color sensitivities!!! the artstyle itself is also very nice to look at!!! the voicework is amazing as well, especially kevin conroy's (rip) performance as batman himself!!! from what i can remember, the plotpoints were also pretty on-par!! i remember liking the show a lot when i was a kid!! :)
â§.* hulk vs. wolverine (not a show but an animated movie, 2009): this one's rated pg-13, since there's depictions of violence. but, i gotta say- this movie had me hyped up when i watched it as a kid!!! this was part of a straight to video two-movie collection, (the other being "hulk vs. thor") and i gotta say... this movie was awesome!!! the fight scenes were rad as heck, the animation was amazing, even deadpool was in the movie!!! (which, fun fact, was his first appearance in animation!!! other than the 2 second cameo in x-men:tas) very fun movie!!!
â§.* these are just some recommendations!!! i really liked these when i was a kid, and i hope you'll like them too, if you decide to watch them!!!
â§.* (also yay!! finally have a new banner!!! + i updated my blog's theme because nightcrawler is so awesome and he's literally my cg guys!!! he said it himself :3)

Ranking DC Pride 2024
8. Phantom Rodeo (Jules Jourdain/Circuit Breaker, Jay Garrick/The Flash)
Dead last because 1 - it's not self-contained. 2 - it has nothing to do with anything Pride related and 3 - it's the return of the complete rando from last time. At least before the incredibly cool couple of Jess/Flash and Andy/Aquawoman featured heavily but no, because of detractor 1 Jay is here instead. Personally, I don't care about Circuit Breaker and I really hope someone else gets their spot next year.
7. "Hello, Spaceboy" (Starman/Mikaal, Komak)
If I knew who either of these characters were, this would probably be a lot higher. But the competition this year is steep so at 8 they go. Komak and the blue-purple warp zone 80s color pallet is REALLY slick. I thought I was familiar-ish with Starman but clearly there are multiple people running around with that name who have nothing to do with the JSA.
6. "Lessons in Astral Projection" (Nia Nal/Dreamer)
I stopped watching the CW shows that weren't about Black Lightning or Batwoman a looong time before Dreamer was intro'd (or after? I know I wasn't watching Flash way before she came along) but I knew of her and thought her powers and connection to the Legion of Superheroes was cool. I didn't like that there was no confrontation with Maeve in the story but it definitely would have gotten in the way of the feel-good affirmation vibe of the story.
5. Spaces
I'm 99% sure I've seen mention of Phil Jimenez across various DC fan spaces, so the only surprises here were that he was LGBT and that they were bringing back the real-person issue-ender like they did Mr. Conroy. It was nice seeing his journey, and it being so well-told is a real plus. No superheroes anywhere in sight though, save Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman.
4. Marasmius (Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy, Janet-from-HR)
Now THIS one was a ride. The opening left me a little rudderless and I'm not the biggest Harlivy fan so I thought I wasn't gonna get much out of this but if there's one thing I can believe, it's that if we had interplanetary travel the 'phobes would preach their nonsense across the galaxy. Ivy being an anti-villain is used to great effect here. No hand-wringing about morals, no reasoning with hate. Just do unto others as they would do unto. VERY cathartic.
3. Bros Down In A-Town (Jon Kent/Superman, Jay Nakamura, Ray Terrill/The Ray, Miguel Barragan/Bunker)
This one 3rd because I relate heavy to feeling weird about being openly LGBT out and about in public. I thought it was a surprising feeling that doesn't get touched on a whole lot because people generally don't like to see that type of real queer struggle being depicted in media that's supposed to be heavy on escapism. This artstyle though. I follow the artist on twitter because it fascinates me how one person's character can bleed through so transparently in the way they draw.
2. The Rivers and the Lakes that You're Used To (Jackson Hyde/Aquaman, Ha'Wea, Orion)
My bias for Jackson Hyde is showing but this story was also incredibly cool on its own merits. Orion being stone-facedly het for half of it was a choice but my boys showed up and officially got together - which I was surprised to learn hadn't happened long before now - so of course it shot up further in the rankings than it otherwise may have. Him saying he feels like himself when he's around his boyfriend is just *chef's kiss*.
1, Steeling Time (Natasha Irons/Steel, Traci Thirteen/Traci 13, John Constantine, Xanthe Zhou)
Natasha and Traci's appearances were the only things about this I got spoiled on, but after reading this they've instantly shot up to join Jackson and Ha'Wea in my pantheon on ships. I do like how it showed the steps to reconciliation and they were both still clearly open to the idea of rekindling things eventually. But this artstyle makes me want to see a webtoon of these two YESTERDAY.

Today in the Department of Before They Were Star Trek Stars, Jonathan Frakes guest stars in "Ghost of a Chance," episode 2 of the eighth season of Quincy, M.E. (original air date October 6, 1982).
Frakes plays a young surgical resident working under an eminent heart surgeon played by Hollywood legend Jose Ferrer, who is padding his billing by booking more procedures than he can possibly do himself, and then leaving the actual surgery to be done by inexperienced, unsupervised residents without the knowledge of the patients.
Other Trek connections under the cut:

The family of a patient who dies as a result of this arrangement, who request an autopsy from Dr. Quincy, is played by future Next Generation guest stars. The patient's widow is Ellen Geer, who played Dr. Kila Marr, the Federation expert on the deadly crystalline entity in "Silicon Avatar."

And the patient's brother is Nicolas Coster, who had a memorable role as Admiral Haftel, the Daystrom scientist who tries to take Data's daughter Lal away from him in "The Offspring." It wasn't until I was researching this post that I learned Coster passed away just over a year ago. I rewatched "The Offspring" last night because I needed my heart broken again, I GUESS.
"She won't survive much longer. There was nothing anyone could have done. We'd repolarize one pathway and another would collapse. And then another. His hands⊠were moving faster than I could see, trying to stay ahead of each breakdown. He refused to give up. He was remarkable. It just wasn't meant to be."

Harry Townes, who portrayed the underground leader Reger in the Original Series episode "The Return of the Archons" plays the chief of staff of the hospital where Ferrer and Frakes practice.

The head of the Board of Medical Quality Assurance is played by character actor and Fifth Level Eyebrow Master Philip Pine. He also played Colonel Green, one of the "Evil" historical figures the Excalbians conjure up for the battle between the forces of Good and Evil they stage in the Original Series episode "The Savage Curtain."
Unfortunately we never get to see the face of the surgeon on the left, but he's played by Conroy Gedeon, better known to Trek fans as the agent who apprehends Dr. McCoy and takes him off to the "Federation funny farm" in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.

so my poor poor mutuals and followers have been dealing with my bruce greenwood obsession for a better part of a year now and i'm so sorry but it's not stopping anytime soon i think
it all started when i binged the entirety of the resident in a week and a half this time last year and said to myself "ughhh i loooooove bruce greenwood, why have i been neglecting him for so long?" đđđ
and in so doing, i found myself back here on tumblr, which led to aos boyce/pike fanfic (shoutout @ofsmokenandgold's "weight of a man" series and @gracieminabox's "the way our horizons meet" series. completely altered my brain chemistry they're both sooooo good)
which led to me going down the rabbit hole of watching everything he's in, stuff i've seen and stuff i haven't seen. i'm not even close to watching everything but i may or may not have created a spreadsheet breaking down how much he's on-screen in the stuff that he's in. because i'm a freak. (but at least @lizzy0305 supports me in this endeavor)
EXAMPLE: he's in the film "Flight" with Denzel Washington, he's plays an old friend of his but he's also the rep for the pilots' union. the film is 138 minutes long, and Bruce is on-screen for roughly 27 of those minutes. which comes out to about 19.5 percent.
the shows are going to be a pain in the ass to calculate. like The Resident. even though he's credited in all 100-something episodes, he's not actually in every single episode
St. Elsewhere is also going to suck because i don't really care for that show AT ALL. đŹ (that show has both bruce and mark, not at the same time sadly, but it still can't hold my attention, i really tried)
and that led to "hey i'm gonna watch some NCIS, i need a reference point for my guy phil boyce in these fics" because iykyk đ and then i somehow ended up watching THIRTEEN SEASONS ( @bowserbabe don't laugh at me.) i didn't really watch it too much back in the day but i somehow still shipped kate/gibbs because of course i did đ and also watching some of mark harmon's other stuff because he is also very very pretty (like prince of bel-air, he is SO EFFING GORGEOUS in that dumb movie, i love it. i'm probably gonna rewatch it soon. and i just watched the presidio again yesterday, a classic!)
and then i found some stuff of theirs on youtube; sleepwalkers with bruce and a young naomi watts and also surprise! jeffrey d. sams. it was very unfortunately cancelled after six episodes, i liked it so much! and reasonable doubts with mark and marlee matlin but the pilot is the only full ep that i've found on youtube... i really gotta find the rest of those eps. that show got 2 seasons so that's better.
speaking of youtube, i follow some comics youtubers and they also like polls over there. one was "outside of kevin conroy, who is your favorite batman voice actor?" options were: troy baker, jensen ackles (i think), roger craig smith, and of course bruce greenwood. so that's who i vote for, not just because i want him to win the poll (he didn't but he was in 2nd place) but because i do actually feel that he's the 2nd best after kevin.
then i came across another youtube poll asking "what's your favorite justice league animated film?" choices were: "justice league: new frontier", "justice league: doom", "justice league dark: apokolips war", and "justice league: crisis on two earths". and so i voted for crisis on two earths (and it was the clear favorite of the poll). y'know.. the one with james woods as the evil batman couterpart, owlman. he was so good in that role. he's so good as villains in general. probably because he is an actual villain irl so it's not really acting for him.... oh and also mark harmon as superman, no biggie. kinda wish he did it a few more times, he was pretty good.
so after pondering for a little bit and putting two and two together, now my brain is like, wait... huh... i want that đđđ i want bruce as batman and mark as superman.
and i do kinda ship batman/superman sometimes. 'cause why not? they're cute. and all of the fanart here on tumblr doesn't help! it's so good
i want art of this. i'd do it myself but i can't draw for shit, i'm just not talented in that way
so someone draw that for me, please? i'll give you money and find all of the reference photos you'd ever need. probably more than you'd ever want.
i don't know about a particular art style, it just has to obviously be those two guys? i guess it couldn't be an action scene because i want to actually see that it's bruce's face under the cowl so maybe they're hanging out in the batcave or fortress of solitude after some crime-fighting. or maybe they're out and about as bruce and clark in metropolis or something? nah, i want them in uniform but no cowl on bats! and it doesn't have to be shippy either (but i wouldn't say no đđđ)
#petite's got a bruce greenwood problem#and a slight mark harmon one too?#i just need more#okay?#commission? maybe? i have money?#so yeah#i said ALL OF THAT TO SAY#i want someone to draw me bruce greenwood as batman and mark harmon as superman#bruce greenwood#mark harmon#petite's hot boys#batman#superman#bruce wayne#clark kent#please#i need it#it could fix me#at least briefly

The Arrowverse (Doing for TV what the MCU did for movies), Appendix 2: Constantine
[All images are owned by DC Comics and Warner Bros-Discovery. I hope Iâm too small-fry to sueâŠ]
My last review had a show that was supposed to be in the Arrowverse before the pandemic made plans change. This review I want to discuss a show that debuted before Arrow, but was retroactively made part of the Arrowverse (at least in many fansâ headcanon)
youtube
(Thanks to KraytCosmo)
Constantine was a horror mystery/adventure show along a similar vein as Supernatural, except that the protagonist uses magic.
The main protagonist is demonologist, Master of the Dark Arts, and future Legend John Constantine (played by Matt Ryan)
[FUN FACT: Ryan has been the face/voice of John Constantine in nearly every DC project featuring the character since his debut in this series much like Kevin Conroy had as Batman]
Constantine is a foul-mouthed morally-ambiguous anarchist who is attempting to atone for his arrogance that resulted in a claim being placed on his soul by the legions of Hell.
As such, he travels the United States (which, for a Brit, is likely hell enough) to send demonic terrors back to Hell using whatever means he has at his disposal.
While Constantine is one of the few that are uniquely qualified for this crusade, he does have a handful of allies (that are generally woefully underpowered for the job)
Chas Chandler is Constantineâs driver. During an early case, Constantine cast a spell of protection on him. Then Chas was caught in an explosion that killed 47 people, leaving him the sole survivor. The life force of the victims entered Chas, meaning he can be killed and return to life 47 times (that has to SERIOUSLY mess up your mental state!)
Mary âZedâ Martin is a psychic whose visions come in the form of artistic inspiration (she draws what she âseesâ)
Finally, Manny is an Angel sent to guide Constantine. John wasnât too happy about this and bound Manny to Earth, cutting him off from contact with Heaven.
The show only lasted half a season, which is a shame, as I thought it had potential. Granted, by this time Supernatural had been doing a similar schtick for ten years and many viewers who didnât know the characterâs history in DC likely saw Constantine as a rip-off (despite the fact that heâd been doing the schtick in the comics for 20 years before anyone ever heard of the Winchester boys) Of course, it didnât help that Keanu Reeves starred in the film adaptation (to largely negative reviews) almost a decade before the character came to television.
If you would like to watch the series, itâs only available behind your favorite paywall. If you would like to see an episode reviewed, please let me know!

how do I start reading batman comics or getting into batman in general?
đ€ Batman For Beginners! đŠ
Wonderful question anon! I love to see people getting into my fave thing ever. Ngl, when it comes to getting people into Batman I am bias a little, because thereâs a lot of Batman I havenât seen yet.
1. When I first got into Batman, I got into it through The Animated Series made in 1992 (with Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamil). Ive watched that show since I was a baby, but itâs honestly solid minus some of the animation. It sets up most of the characters to date honestly, as most renditions of characters stick with what BTAS wrote about them. BTAS also introduced many villians like Harley Quinn!!
(Speaking of animated shows, I think Batman Beyond is pretty cool. TNBA (the new Batman adventures) isnât half bad either though I hate the redesigns. TNBA is supposed to be in the same universe, after BTASâs events).
2. That got me into Batman comics! Honestly, there are so so many Batman comics that itâs hard to pick where to begin with them. There are plenty of origin stories (I think theyâre kind boring), and I wouldnât really read the BTAS comics since theyâre more just little adventures, Unless youâre not looking for much content.
Some comics I would reccomend include The Long Halloween (Written by Jeph Loeb and drawn by TIM SALE) and the books that prelude and come after it. Honestly, Iâm very bias for Tim Sale since his artwork is some of the best Iâve seen from a dc comic series, but the stories are very captivating and it includes harvey dents origin story. I think fear state is also a pretty cool comic if you like scsrecrow, though other than that I kinda got bored with it..
People talk about âThe Killing Jokeâ being the best comic but honestly I wouldnât touch it with a 10 foot pole. Itâs kinda just an excuse to hurt a female character and sexualize her and make her 1 dimensional. It made me rly uncomfortable and I would legit avoid the movie too since it includes SA on a paralyzed batgirl. Really gross stuff. Only like, 30 year old neckbeard hardcore dc fans think itâs peak Batman ngl. Of course to all their own.
3. I also would VERY MUCH reccomend the Arkham games (though Iâd wait until theyâre on sale). I have all four and honestly itâs the most fun Iâve had from a game in sooo long. Amazing atmosphere though I hated the tank fights in Arkham knight sooo much.
Happy.. uh⊠batmaning!

30 Batman Facts: Fun and Interesting Trivia
The âCaped Crusader,â the âDark Knight,â the âBat-Freak,â âBatsyâ â whatever name you know him by, Batman is easily DC Comicsâ most prolific of heroes.
But how much do we actually know about him and his world? From his debut in 1939âs Detective Comics, to his extensive list of live-action films, Batman has racked up considerable popularity and great status.
Rubbing shoulders with super-powered aliens and Amazon warrior princesses, Batman isnât just a man with a cape and a cool costume. Thereâs so much more to know about this extraordinary DC hero, from his backstory, comic book trivia, to some behind-the-scenes facts that will make him even more spectacular.
So, whether youâre a newbie to the famous movie series or just want to know a tad bit more about the Dark Knight, here are the most fun and interesting Batman facts out there.
1. You Can Learn âBatmanologyâ at University
Curious about how Batman manages what he does? The University of Victoria in Canada offers a curriculum on whether it is possible for the human body to achieve and tolerate what Batman can do.
From training, to his diet and intelligence, this course by Dr E Paul Zehr presents all the trivia you need to know about the Dark Knightâs superhuman capabilities. If you know the Caped Crusader though, thatâs a tall order.
2. Kevin Conroy Was the Longest-Running Batman
Several actors have played Batman, but Kevin Conroy was in this role for a whooping 30 years before his untimely death in 2022.
Starting with the legendary 1992 TV show, Batman: The Animated Series, the actor had a long-lasting portfolio as the voice of Batman: over 15 video games, more than 13 animated movies, and around 15 TV series. Thatâs quite a resume, Kevin!
3. Bruceâs Net Worth is Over $9 Billion
Hereâs some juicy information about Batman! In 2015, Forbes set out to answer the question of who âfictionâs richestâ are. At a net worth of $9.2 billion, Bruce Wayne comes a not too shabby 6th place, being wealthier than Richie Rich (7th) but not as rich as Charles Foster Kane (5th).
Although this puts him on the low end of the worldâs richest, we donât see Batman complaining anytime soon. On the other hand, you can find out who the richest DC character is on our list!
4. Wayne Enterprises Is Worth Over $30 Billion
Why is Batman so rich, anyway? Bruce wouldnât be half the bat without the assets provided by Wayne Enterprises, a company thatâs been in his family for generations.
This trillion dollar conglomerate has branches in steel, food, aerospace, biotechnology, chemicals, electronics, entertainment, shipping, medicine, and even private security just to name a few. The company reportedly rakes in $31.3 billion in annual revenue. Not too bad, hey? Small wonder then that WayneCorp claims to have built Gotham.
5. Thereâs a City Called âBatmanâ
In 2008, HĂŒseyin Kalkan, the mayor of âBatmanâ (a city in southern Turkey) attempted to sue Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan for using the cityâs name without permission.
Although claiming there was only one âBatmanâ in the world, there was no real news after about it. Batman first appeared as a comic book character in 1939. The question is, what came first? The chicken or the egg?

đșCloud Winter-Conroy

Cloud Winter-Conroy is the second child of Saint Conroy and Jolene and so she is the 1,5 years younger sister of Jaxx. In The Sims 3 she was married to one of the band members of Gravity - her father's famous rock band.
In The Sims 4, I never got back as deep into her story. Cloud carved out her own path, and one day, I found her in a relationship with Sebastian Jakob, a NPC. I decided to adopt him into the family and gave him a makeover.
Since then, they've been living together in the apartment in San Myshuno, the one where she and her siblings Jaxx, Leroy and Joshua grew up.
It's always a special feeling to return to this location, where I spent so much time years ago and where the entire second generation grew up for a second time - bringing them back to life after spending years with their legacy in The Sims 3. Iâve only been playing The Sims 4 since January 2020. Sims made by me @tikay Conroy Clan Family-Tree

it's just shit that kevin conroy's corpse keeps being used by corporations to sell subpar products.
we now have 2 or 3 things that are being announced as "the last performance of kevin conroy" after the last one failed to garner any real support being "the last performance of kevin conroy", and it's pretty gross and cynical, yes, but also it's demonstrably not working. Anyone who buys SSKTJL or watches the new Crisis movies was already going to do that. They're just making it very apparent that the guy's legacy is just more product filler for them.
there's nothing like the feeling of watching a minute-long tribute to his life at the end of a glorified storefront masquerading as a game only to then have the game explode in loot acquisition messages and mission accomplished splash screens, to the sound of generic quotes from characters you still don't really know after a whole little adventure with them.
like batman is not your dad and feeling upset about precious batkino having its sanctity violated is silly-- the homage into loot thing is genuinely hilarious, I can't muster the excitement to be mad at it. But the overall marketing around Conroy's passing is gross and wildly out of touch. It's not working and just makes people uncomfortable. Fuck that.

The Willful Suspension of Disbelief Zone is occupied entirely by Batman: The Animated Series. (comment courtesy of @anxi0us-0p0ssum)
.
[ID: A horseshoe diagram labeled "The Batman Believability Horseshoe." The bottom lefthand point of the horseshoe is labeled "Adam West." The bottom righthand point is labeled "Robert Pattinson." The counterclockwise direction (leading to West) is labeled "lighthearted batman" and the clockwise direction (leading to Pattinson) is labeled "dark moody batman." The horseshoe is divided into a spectrum of color from the rounded top to the bottom points. The top yellow tier is labeled "Willing Suspension of Disbelief Zone (exact limits may vary)." The middle red tier is labeled ""Okay You Lost Me" event horizon of critical absurdity/grimdark levels". The bottom blue tier is labeled "I 100% understand how THIS GUY decided to start dressing up like a bat." The points of the horseshoe end in arrows, indicating they will meet. Between the arrow points is written "disbelief: suspended; motives: plausible". END ID] (comment courtesy of @general-sleepy)

Will Arnett, Lego Batman 2017
Lighthearted, uncanny valley event horizon:
George Clooney, Batman & Robin 1997
Lighthearted, willing suspension:
Val Kilmer, Batman Forever 1995
Willing suspension of disbelief:
Kevin Conroy, Batman: The Animated Series
Dark moody, willing suspension:
Christian Bale, The Dark Knight film trilogy
Dark moody, uncanny valley event horizon:
Ben Affleck, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Dark moody, believable:
Michael Keaton, Batman 1989
Robert Pattinson, The Batman 2022

these are my thotz as someone who has been directly exposed to 2022 and 1966 batman within less than a month: there's a sweet spot between silly/gloomy ways to write bruce wayne, there's unpleasant extremes, and then there's the real extremes that are such weird little freaks that they make perfect sense

Update on what Iâm playing next
So I played fortnite festival, beat the mortal kombat dlc, beat a run of Last of Us 2 No Return, then finally started my Arkham Asylum replay.
Itâs been sooooo long, since 2010 or so because I remember pre ordering Arkham City which is crazy because it came out just after my 13th birthday. 12 year olds have no business pre ordering games on Steam. I think that mightâve even been the first game I ever pre ordered on steam, surely. I remember buying Assassinâs Creed 2 for its (at the time) full price of 19.99 on steam when Arkham City got delayed but I had paced myself to beat Assassinâs Creed 1 right when Arkham City was going to come out. I suppose Iâve always been crossing off lists when I game, huh?
Oh, I also I popped my head back in to Theatrhythm Final Bar Line where Iâm in the middle of FFX. I do still enjoy it and I like the way the inputs feel but I fear Fortnite Festival has fried my brain with how satisfying the notes are and the rotating set list of radio hits. Plus, itâs addicting to get to level up my main fortnite account just from playing a silly little music mode.
So then Mortal Kombat 1 Khaos Reigns was pretty underwhelming. I felt like it was retreading the same nonsense ground as the last act of of the main game (oh no the multiverse is invadinggg). I think the most impressive part of the story was that they worked in a random dragon NPC from Armageddon in a way that was actually sympathetic. Although I do really like turning Cyrax and Sektor into exosuits rather than full robots and their move sets are really cool. Still not sold on the kameo system. Waiting for injustice 3.
Tried out Tommy in Last of Us 2 No Return. He felt a little generic, I didnât think his âcustom rifleâ was different enough to feel unique. To be fair I didnât get much use out of the scope. I did manage to clutch my third won run, first try with Tommy. So now Iâve got Joel unlocked and I figure I should try a run as him before going through Abby and her friends.
More notably for this run, I turned on 4 bit audio and pitched down audio and it was the scariest thing Iâve ever heard. Iâm gonna see if I can post the vid on here.
And then I really wanted to make this post just to gush about how great Arkham Asylum is. I think itâs a really well made game even to someone who has never heard of him, but Iâm particularly fresh on reading a bunch of Batman comics lately so itâs like a religious experience now. Obviously at the center of it is Kevin Conroyâs perfect Batman voice. These games have to have the biggest collection of his Batman voice acting even compared to BTAS just because of how long these games are compared to a movie or tv show, but the math on that is confusing me. Regardless, itâs so funny to hear his immaculate Batman voice reading off tutorials and hints like âI should try not getting shot by a gunâ or whatever here in the beginning.
Very funny that Victor Zsasz is literally just the stealth tutorial target dummy basically.
Even without the QoL and advanced maneuvers of the later games, the combat and stealth still feel great. Of course it helps that Iâm playing on PC modded to be 144 Hz so it feels like a âremasterâ. The game doesnât look all too dated for how old it actually is (16 years).
I am really enjoying the more linear, claustrophobic approach compared to my more recent memories of Arkham Knight, just a different vibe.
Itâs fun how much comic stuff has already been crammed in. Jim and Babs, Zsasz, Joker, Killer Croc, Riddler, Harley, and Iâm only like forty minutes in.
So funny how many of these characters are voiced by Tom Kane and Steve Blum, every other person I meet is one of the two. Of course I should mention also how great Mark Hamill as Joker is, I know that isnât a hot take but heâs really on display here.
Iâm soooo looking forward to playing more. I wanna keep an eye for the light metroidvania elements this time. I also wanna go and look up all the secrets online after even if I donât end up finding them all in game (I ainât doing all that).
I also never beat the final boss back in the day. I reached the end and uninstalled because I had heard the final boss was stupid and it seemed hard. At the very least, I wanna give it a fair shot this time and watch online if I donât beat it. My memories are so foggy on big chunks of this game, itâs been so long.
I just feel real giddy playing it and Iâm counting the minutes until I can get home and play more. I do think I wanna keep doing my dailies in Fortnite Festival to get my music game fix. And then I like the idea of doing No Return one run a day until I get through all the characters at least. So sorry to everybody who wants me to return to Disco Elysium đ Iâll get there eventually

I know Iâm both late and early for this one, but as you know, itâs been 2 years Kevin Conroy; the iconic voice actor for the legendary Batman in various media from animated shows to movies and television has passed away on November 10th 2022, 20 days before his birthday on November 30th and he wouldnât turned 69 on that year too⊠Iâd like to say a massive thank you, Kevin Conroy for bringing the Batman; Bruce Wayne himself to life in the various media as the Dark Knight; The Caped Crusader who embraced vengeance, justice, compassion, realism and much more, to show that there can still be hope and optimism, even without superpowers. Even though itâs been 2 years since your passing, The Batfans and DC fans in general are still forever thankful and grateful for your work and we will hold you dear to our hearts and minds for that.
Happy 69th Heavenly Birthday and rest well even after 2 years; Kevin ConroyâŠ

A Comprehensive Exploration of 10 .NET 8.0 Enhancements Transforming the Blazor Ecosystem
Dive into the future of web development with our in-depth analysis of 10 .NET 8.0, dissecting the groundbreaking improvements that have revolutionized the Blazor framework, propelling it to new heights of performance and functionality.
The latest release of .NET 8 brings significant additions and changes to ASP.NET Core. The most notable enhancements for this release of ASP.NET Core are related to the Performance and Blazor alongside the updates regarding the AOT, Identity, SignalR, Metrics and many more features.
Microsoft announced that ASP.NET Core in .NET 8 is the most performant released version so far, and as stated, when compared to .NET 7, ASP.NET Core in .NET 8 is 18% faster on the Techempower JSON benchmark and 24% faster on the Fortunes benchmark. Brennan Conroy wrote a blog post about Performance Improvements in ASP.NET Core 8 and readers are recommended to take a look into this.
1. Enhanced Navigation & Form Handling
Say goodbye to clunky page reloads! Blazor now intelligently updates the DOM with server-rendered content, resulting in seamless navigation and form interactions that feel like a native single-page application.
2. Choose Your Render Mode at Runtime
Need more flexibility? .NET 8.0 lets you dynamically switch between server-side and interactive render modes for individual components, giving you granular control over your app's behavior.
3. Streaming Rendering Preserves DOM
Blazor now paints components progressively, preserving existing DOM elements and avoiding unnecessary refreshes. This translates to blazing-fast performance and a more responsive user experience.
4. QuickGrid
Say Hello to Data Tables Made Easy: Forget about writing tons of boilerplate code for data grids. QuickGrid is a new built-in component that handles sorting, filtering, and pagination out of the box, making your life easier and your tables prettier.
5. Improved Authentication
Integrate authentication into your Blazor apps with greater ease thanks to built-in support for OpenID Connect and improved integration with Microsoft Identity Platform.
6. Razor Component Result
Generate static HTML content with your Blazor components! This opens up new possibilities for pre-rendering content and improving SEO.
7. Sections
Modular Layouts Made Simple: Define flexible content areas in your app layout with "Sections" and dynamically fill them with components. This promotes code reuse and keeps your layouts organized.
8. Jiterpreter for Blazor WebAssembly
Get ready for faster Blazor WebAssembly apps! The new Jiterpreter improves component execution speed, making your WebAssembly apps feel native and responsive.
9. Enhanced Routing with Named Elements
Route to specific elements within your Blazor pages using URL fragments, providing finer-grained control over navigation and deep linking.
10. Cascade Query String Values
Pass query string values directly to your Blazor components, simplifying data transmission and making your development workflow more streamlined. Bonus: Blazor Server Interactivity in Web Apps: While still in preview, this feature opens exciting possibilities for running interactive logic on the server for Blazor WebAssembly apps, potentially bridging the gap between the two models.
Ready to get blazing? These are just some of the amazing improvements that await you in .NET 8.0. So, upgrade your projects, explore these new features, and build the next generation of web applications that are fast, dynamic, and simply delightful to use. Â

Batman: Caped Crusader
This is going to be some general thoughts about this show. There won't be any spoilers about the plot (mostly because I'm only half way through the season), but there will be some about the characters the cut (although it's probably nothing that people don't already know unless they've somehow avoided any characters references since before the show began).
This show is created by Bruce Timm; the same person who created Batman: The Animated Series (among others). While this series has the same aesthetic as Animated; it is not tied to the original (which is probably for the best as a sequel would be hard to watch without Kevin Conroy).
Like X-Men '97, this show has clearly been "aged up" as the most likely viewers are those who watched Animated. That being said, unlike X-Men '97, this show only had to make a few adjustments because Animated really was geared toward...well, kids could watch it, but the target audience probably was teenagers and young adults. (Honestly, instead of making it more kid friendly with The Adventures of Batman and Robin, WB should've bitten the bullet and made it a prime time animated series). However, like both X-Men and X-Men '97, this show has more of a storyline running throughout the season.
Getting into the character of Bruce/Batman...so, I wouldn't go so far as to say this is a year one Batman; but it's clear that this is closer to the beginning of Batman. Maybe a year two. As for the voice actor, I feel like he's trying to match or he's been told to match Conroy (which he kind of does when he plays Bruce). If that is the case...not a fan.
There's some differences with the characters. Some I like, some not so much. Catwomen was so cool in Adventures and they've turned her into a whiney little brat in this show. Harvey Dent...has become a real asshole. I like Barbra as a character, but are they going to make her Batgirl? I mean, actually call her Batgirl...cause that would be demeaning.
I do like the new Harley Quinn. I mean, the original Harley Quinn will always have a special place in my heart; and what they were able to do with this character was nothing short of amazing (Mad Love, just the fact that they were able to produce that episode...). At the same time, Harley Quinn wasn't made to be this iconic character, it just sort of happened. I kind of like the idea of the creator of the character going back to the drawing board, removing the Joker factor, and seeing what he can do with her. Look, this version will not replace the original; but she's an interesting alternate version.
As for The Penguin, they chose to make her a woman. Personally, I liked this version. That being said, they also gave her sons. And this is early in Batman's career. Wouldn't surprise me if, come season 2, another son shows up and he becomes The Penguin. either way, I'm cool with it.
