Miraculous Animal AU - Science Class

Zoe the Wasp - Though her and Chloe are not technically related, they've been together since birth and see eachother as sisters. Even though they're sweeter than Chloe, Zoe has a sharp pincer that she uses for hunting her food. She also loves movies and punk rock songs that play on the record player. They adore their hedgehog mate, Cosette, and often fly on its nose.

Aurore the Swan - Aurore's a big, beautiful and elegant bird, who also happens to be a nervous wreck 90% of the time. Due to society's expectations of swans to always be radiant and magestic creatures, Aurore can be a perfectionist, scared of failing in the eyes of her elders. It's only thanks to being with her friends and her penguin mate Mireille that she's learned how to relax and simply live life for herself. One of her favorite things to do is to honk about the weather with her girlfriend to the other animals on each farm.

Mireille the Penguin - Mireille is as quiet and chill as the temperature they prefer to live in. She's often waddling around to see what the weather is like, and their favorite pasttime is going for a nice swim in the pond. She often finds it hard to open her beak and speak up, but is working on it with the more extroverted animals. They also like visiting their older brother, Theo, who is the pet of a famous artist.

Jean the Macaw - If you want to see an animal with flair, vigor and theatricality, look no further than Jean. A particuarly passionate parrot, Jean loves to strut his stuff wherever he goes, showing that they can squawk the squawk and walk the walk. They adore the theatre, listening to all sorts of musicals from the record player and copying certain words that he learns from the scripts. They also put on little shows for their friends, with the help of some of the more theatre-loving animals. He cherishes his mate, a nerdy deer named Austin T.

Lacey the Cheetah - Lacey always has a need for speed, so don't coop her up. As the fastest not just of Farmer Olga, but of all the farms, it's Lacey's job to catch any troublemakers trying to sneak in. She also loves parkour, racing for glory against Kim, Alix and Aggie. Because of her low stamina, she can often be found napping in various parts of the farm. Be thoughtful and don't wake her up.

Denise the Bison - Denise is one bulky bison. They grazing, rolling around in the dirt, and prefers to be in a herd rather than alone. A very social bison, they want to make sure everyone feels included in daily activities. They may be huge, but they're one of the friendliest and calmest animals on the farm, always willing to be pet. There's only one animal that can make them blush, that being their serval mate Simon.

Simon the Serval - A snarky and slender serval, Simon's a cat who is always trying to nab pieces of technology to use for himself. Some of his friends call them "Keyboard Cat" since he constantly paws at the computer as if it were a majestic artifact of God. They also can be rather grumpy in the morning, needing to climb a tree or mark territory to cool off. Sometimes, he likes jumping onto the back of his bison mate and going for a ride.

Cosette the Hedgehog - A spunky and spiky critter, Cosette's always in the mood for exploring, digging and foraging. You can often find it sniffing its' friends, rolling around in a ball, or digging with its claws for treasures. They love makeup, and have made some out of various substances found on the farm to put on its' animal allies. One time, Cosette and their foxy friend Alya tried to recreate something they saw from a Sonic movie. They were sad to find out foxes couldn't actually fly.

Ismael the Raccoon - A witty little gremlin, Ismael proudly identifies as a "trash baby". He likes digging through garbage, collecting various items from the bins to put on display at his room for the other animals to see. He's a night owl for sure, usually hanging out with the other nocturnal animals around the various farms. You can often hear him chittering with a meowing Simon, as they snark about various things.

Reshma the Elephant - A polite and elegant elephant, Reshma never forgets to cherish her friends. She often trumpets about new ideas for fashion, and her best friend Ismael is as protective of her as she is with him. Her fashionista friend is Marinette, the little ladybug. They are always working together on new animal attire, despite being vastly different in size. She loves wrapping her trunk around her cheetah mate, Lacey, and her polar bear mate, Margo.

Mirrorverse Crossover- Cosette

With a huff, Cosetteweather fluffed her wool as she sat in the seat across from their counterpart, who was nonchalantly humming the tune of what was likely one of those innumerable inane pop ditties that were such a hit with the public for some reason. Looking at the popstar with derision, they decided to engage in conversation.

“What’s that ditty you’re humming? It’s annoyingly catchy.”, the sheep hybrid questioned flatly, resting its chin on its hand, fingers of the other hand tapping the hard surface of the table.

“Oh, that’s just one of our chart toppers, 1 True Love.”, the singer answered with a relaxed grin, before adding in a softer tone, “It’s Zoe’s favorite. She likes the mellower stuff.”

“My Zoe prefers classical music, much more refined.”, the wooly VP snipped, briefly tilting her nose up at Robette, who rather irritatingly seemed nonplussed by the comment.

“To each their own, I guess.”, the teen idol shrugged, “I just enjoy music in general, but it’s fun to get to dance and have fun while you sing!”, before getting up and performing a few iconic 4-Town moves.

“Sure, if you’re a prey. That Gazelle is a joy to watch for sure.”, Cosetteweather said snidely with a roll of her eyes, “Not too smart to have tiger hybrids as backup dancers.”

“Hey, I happen to know both Gazelle and her dancers in this world, and they’re great guys! One of ‘em is actually her fiancé!”, Robette was quick to point out, not willing to let the sheep hybrid speak ill of the woman who had been a kind of big sister figure to her throughout their stardom.

“No offense to Cosette, but what self-respecting pred would be in a relationship with a prey?”, Alix Khan sneered, with IsmaScar nodding, a look of disgust on his face.

“Actually, many people happen to find it beautiful that a pred and prey, like Gazelle and Ralfio, can disregard all the prejudice and find love with one another.”, Snow Mylene said tightly with her hands folded on her lap, ignoring the glares she was still getting from the sea witch.

The two felines were about to retort, only to be cut off by the Princess of the Southern Isles.

“Quiet! My love is talking!”, ZoeHans demanded, holding up a hand to silence everyone, but a certain hero was having none of that.

“You’re not in charge of us, princess! Not any more than King Nutcase over there!“, Aladdix quipped, jabbing a thumb in the direction of Nath of Hearts, referring to how he had tried to do the same thing the previous day when King Marc was talking. She received only a feral glare and a muttered string of curses in return.

“Can’t say I’m surprised you’d be so anti-predator, given that psycho drug you cooked up.”, Robette said tersely, “Shame that you never really got the chance to implement it before you were busted.”

“Well, sometimes your agenda needs a little more push to get it off the ground. Prey’s fear of predator already existed, I just need the right catalyst to light it ablaze.”, Cosettewether retorted, her fingers clenched on the table.

“Kinda sounds like predators and prey should be afraid of you.”, the singer snarked, crossing their arms over their chest.

“You can’t be a leader if you don’t smell the blood in the water and strike. Survival of the fittest, dear.”, the future politician said with a shark-like grin, tenting its fingers.

“And yet you're still second banana to your girlfriend, doing whatever she tells you to do.”, Robette observed, examining their nails, “Not that there's anything wrong with being taking the backseat every once in a while, take it from being part of a band.”

“Ah, yes. Tell me more about these associates in your little teenybopper group! I’m sure they’re delightful.”, Cosettewether mused, figuring it would serve them well to gather information about her counterpart. Thankfully, the musician didn’t seem to suspect anything and gained a fond smile.

“Well, there's Jazz, she’s always wanted to go to art school. Tae's a total sweetie, he loves animals. Erin, they're a little sassbucket, and Aaron's like a golden retriever in human form.”, it listed off with a tender look, earning an eye roll.

“Judging by the look on your face, you care for them quite a bit.”, Cosettewether said with a devious glint in her eyes.

“You better not be planning anything stupid.”, their heroic counterpart told them sharply, immediately picking up on the hidden meanings.

“Let me assure you, Timberlake, none of my plans are ever stupid.”, the politician hissed with a spiteful sneer, already coming up with several different possible scenarios to use this information.

“Really? Because right now I'm thinking you're gonna try and put my family in danger, which is a VERY stupid thing to do.”

“Oh, really? And just what is a preppy little popstar like you going to do?“, came the scoffed response of the villainous VP, only for…

“Maybe a ‘normal’ popstar, but one of our Mari’s students…”, Robette said sharply, grabbing the hybrid’s wrist and getting them into a chicken wing hold, “I know plenty of tricks…including the one Marinette used on your friend!”

With a pained grunt, Ivan Oogie rubbed the back of his neck, where the nerves were still sore from the technique the warrior had used. Mylensula cooed and fussed over her beloved, shooting the warrior a cold glare.

“Now. Can we try to have a civil talk? You gotta have some other hobbies besides plotting world domination.”, Robette said as they sat back down, crossing her arms over her chest.

“I wouldn't call it WORLD domination. More like control of my city. Conquering's more of my Zoe's game. Besides, not too much time for fun when you’ve got a school to run with an iron fist.”, Cosettewether responded, giving a little cackle at the tail of the statement.

“You know, you could stand to loosen up a bit. People tend to support you more when you’re approachable. Not that you actually being in office would be a good thing...”, the pop idol intoned flatly, as they could only imagine what kind of ‘policies’ their villainous self would put in place.

“And YOU could try not flying off the handle when the press gets a hand on your little maid.”, Cosettewether snapped right back, recalling the article she had found earlier while trying to gather info on their alternate self.

“While breaking his camera may have been going too far, as soon as someone touches my girlfriend without her permission, it’s on.”, Robette responded tightly, gripping the edges of the table.

“Well, you could've found other ways to get back at him. You're a celebrity for god's sake, you could have him canceled in a millisecond.”, the villain sneered, fluffing their wool as they gave the musician a superior look.

“Like I said, he grabbed her and I lost my temper. That tends to happen when the one you love is threatened. Am I ashamed of my behavior now, yes. But I also know I can’t change it, only move forward.”, Robette sighed heavily, feeling regret enter its mind again.

“I just hope that temper isn't turned onto your Zoe. I can't imagine what would happen...”, suddenly bleats with fear as the singer grabs their collar and looks it dead in the eye.

“I would NEVER. EVER. Hurt Zoe. Not for any damn thing in the world. You got that through your fluffy head?”, she snarled, their eyes burning with a fury the villainous sheep did not expect.

“M-message received.”, Cosettewether stammered, before they were released and shoved back.

“We're done here. Head on back to your gang of psychos.”, before they turned and walked out of the room, humming to herself casually.

As the singer left, the hybrid scowled as they straightened out their clothes and dusted itself off.

“We’ll see about that.”

It was at that moment that HansZoe rushed up to her partner, “Are you alright?!”, she cried, frantically checking them over for any injuries.

“I’m fine, love. My wool’s just a bit ruffled, is all.”, the sheep hybrid said with a faint chuckle, straightening their glasses.

“When we make these clowns pay, they’ll be first on the list, I promise you that.”, the wicked princess snarled, pulling her love into her arms.

It was just moments before CinderZoe caught up with Robette in the hallway, grasping her partner’s hand and giving it a tight squeeze.

“You know everything they said is crap, right?”, the blonde said gently, “You would never do anything to hurt me.”

“I know, ZoZo.”, the singer said, resting its forehead against hers, “Nothing they say means anything to me. All I care about right now is you…my One True Love…”, with the last words being sung as CinderZoe’s face erupted in a blush.

Act 1

The town of Paris, France, full of conventionally attractive inhabitants, prepares to be awarded "Most Attractive Town" for the 50th year

The Queen's beloved, flawless, firstborn daughter, Princess Nora, has died in battle against a dragon, leaving her with her younger sister, Princess Alya, who’s shy and nerdy in contrast

The Queen builds a memorial statue in honor of Nora and the 50th year, but at the award ceremony, when the statue is unveiled, the town gasps when they see it has been vandalised

This causes Paris to lose their winning streak, and the townspeople blame the local misfit, Nino, the rebellious, loud-mouthed stepson of Lord Agreste

After a chase around town, they tie him to a tree in the woods in the middle of the forest, where he’s found and untied by his childhood friend, Princess Alya, who teases him for once again getting tied to a tree

They catch up and rant about their daily lives, Nino with his step-family and Alya with her royal duties and being heir to the throne. After Nino leaves, Alya fantasizes about being with him

At “home,” Nino’s stepbrothers, Adrien and Félix are having another one of their usual fights, which Gabriel blames on Nino for no reason other than that he’s just standing there. He once again threatens to kick him out of the house if he causes more trouble

He doesn’t even listen to his own sons when they tell him that Nino had nothing to do with it

Meanwhile, Alya is practicing and failing at sword fighting, ignoring the instructor and other members of the court once again comparing her to Nora. Before she can try again, the Queen enters the room with some news

Queen Marlena: Alya, we most save the kingdom’s reputation after the stunt that gutter boy pulled.

Alya: Don’t call him that. And what do you even suggest?

Queen Marlena: Oh, must I come up with everything? Now your sister, she could come up with ten ideas in under a minute!

Alya: Goodbye. *Leaves the room*

To save the town's reputation, a Royal Ball will be held on Saturday. Every boy from the kingdom is invited, and Alya will choose a husband

Every time Alya throws in an objection, she’s met with her mother once again comparing her to Nora

Still angry, Alya storms out of the palace and sneaks off into the town square to confront Nino and blame him for the upcoming royal wedding. They argue some, but eventually, Alya asks him to at least come to the ball before running off

At the Palace, Gabriel visits the Queen, and they recall their youth and Gabriel subtly brings up blackmail, reminding the Queen of how “rambunctious” she was. To keep this from getting out, he suggests that Alya marry one of his sons, and the Queen reluctantly agrees

Soon everyone in Paris is on a shopping spree in the town square to prepare for the Ball

With each passing day, Alya gains popularity with the local boys who each flirt with her, but she brushes each of them off and goes toward Nino, asking that he attend the ball, only for Gabriel to cut in and loudly commend the Princess for inviting the gutter boy out of pity because of his dull looks, earning some laughter and causing Nino to run off in embarrassment

Later at the manor, Gabriel, Adrien, and Félix prepare for the ball while Nino angrily assists them, occasionally pricking Gabriel with a needle

When they leave, Nino, determined to go to the Ball and show everyone up, visits Godmother, a popular plastic surgery spot where head surgeon, Cosette Bellamy and her team of beauticians have made the townsfolk look perfect

In exchange for Nino’s necklace, gifted to him by his mothers before their passing, Cosette provides a temporary cosmetic makeover, complete with a beautiful suit and a pair of crystal shoes. She warns Nino that the pain from the cosmetics will be bearable only until midnight

Act 2

At the ball, Alya finds herself being flocked by dozens of guys vying for her attention, and is annoyed with each one. They either want her for her looks or her status. The others are more…

Kim: Look, you seem great, and a hottie to boot, but I’m kind of into someone else and let me tell you, she is gorgeous. Not that you’re not gorgeous, though.

Ivan: I’m just doing this to get my uncle off my back. No hard feelings, but I have feelings for this other girl.

—

Max: I find you attractive, but that’s merely science talking. You have a perfectly symmetrical face and your eyes are nicely spaced which I admire, but prefer on guys. I’m gay if you couldn’t tell.

Nathaniel: Could you point me in the direction of that cute guy with the messy black hair? I can’t seem to find him.

Marc: Did a cute redhead pass by here?

Alya is annoyed by her suitors and is anxious, as she must choose a bride by midnight. Just then, Nino arrives, magnificent but unrecognised

Queen Marlena forces Alya to dance with him, and Alya reluctantly does so, making it clear to him that she doesn’t want to do this. Nino is put off by her behavior, not realizing that Alya doesn’t know it’s her, and confesses that he is in love with her, but Alya rebuffs him

Adrien and Félix soon recognize Nino under all of the cosmetics, but don’t intervene. Although, Félix is tempted when he notices Nino looking uncomfortable in his tight shoes

When Alya snaps at Nino, comparing him to the other “braindead” guys here at the ball, he storms off in a huff, and Gabriel seizes the moment to push Adrien toward Alya, making them accidentally kiss in front of everyone at the stroke of midnight, and Queen Marlena declares him as Alya’s new husband

When the cosmetics begin to feel painful and Nino rubs it off of his face, Alya recognizes and runs after him, but he dismisses her

Nino: Don’t fucking touch me!

Alya: I didn’t know it was you! You need to believe me- you just look so different, and-

Nino: Stop! Whatever we had, it’s over. It’s done, and I never want to see you again!

Alya, in anguish over hurting Nino, shoves her feelings aside and reluctantly accepts her fate

Later at the manor, Gabriel gloats over Adrien’s engagement as they prepare for the wedding whenever Nino is in earshot. He mocks Nino for failing to see that Alya loved him, and Nino finally snaps, striking Gabriel across the face with no remorse before storming up to his room to pack and leave Paris

However, Félix makes his way in and encourages him to stop the wedding, letting him know that he and Adrien are both on his side

At the wedding, everything is going smoothly. Gabriel is reveling in the fact that he will soon become royalty while Adrien and Alya are both in ready uncomfortable and unhappy. When the preacher asks for objections, the doors swing open, revealing none other than-

Marc: It’s Princess Nora!

Juleka: I LOVE YOU, NORA!

Nora: Love you, too, rando.

After recounting her adventures, she admits that she only arrived at the wedding to save Alya. To prevent her own arranged marriage, she faked her death and has returned to marry the love of her life.

She comes out as gay and introduces her fiancé, Princess Vivica

Gabriel is devastated as his plan unravels, but the Queen is overjoyed, since this marriage will return Paris to splendour, and everyone in Belleville cheers for the new Queens

As the wedding bells ring out, Nino hears the bells from a distance and thinks that Alya is married. Heartbroken, he returns home to resume packing and heads out of Paris

At the Palace, Queen Nora and her new wife celebrate a lavish wedding reception, but Alya is miserable.

Adrien and Félix approach and tells her about Nino’s plan to stop her wedding

Félix: It was whole thing. He was gonna show up on a white horse and whisk you away.

Adrien: No, he wasn’t.

Félix: Hush, I’m setting a scene.

Alyaa decides to go after Nino, and leaves the party

Gabriel, meanwhile, accuses the Queen of breaching their deal, but Queen Marlena threatens to execute Gabriel for attempting to blackmail royalty, and throws him out of the Palace in front of everyone, leaving his reputation in shambles

As she’s leaving the palace, Alya comes across Cosette, who’s wearing Nino’s necklace. They willfully hand it to her and tell her to hurry

Alya arrives at the manor, only to find only his crystal shoes and is devastated, thinking she’s too late. To her relief, Nino returns for the slippers… to sell them

Alya returns his necklace and tells him what happened and how sorry she is for snapping at him at the ball, and Nino apologizes for the insults he said to her at the ball

Tired of waiting, Alya kisses him, and Nino kisses her back. Rather than letting him run away, Alya invites him to Nora and Vivica’s wedding party as her date, and Nino agrees. The two walk hand-in-hand and share another kiss

Our next family is: the Liddells! We’ve seen a few of them already, and Ghyslain is a Bellamy which we’ve also seen quite a few of, but these two are the LAST of their respective families in the rotation!

Ghyslain is much older than his new bride, in fact they only wed a short time before Detlef’s little misadventure. Had things gone differently, they might not have married at all. But he wasn’t getting any younger and Cosette didn’t really have any other options. After enough hounding about how ‘that poor girl is going to end up alone for lack of choice!’ from all the local ladies, he finally got their gigantic hint and began courting Cosette.

For her part, Cosette isn’t a fool. She knows they were more or less pushed together. But she’s not so foolish to think that marriage isn’t hard work in the first place, so what if theirs began somewhat oddly? As long as they work at it, things will turn out well enough. It helps that Ghyslain is very respectful of her as a person, and an artist, allowing her the freedom to sew as she pleases while he manages their little homestead.

The freedom to sew to her hearts content is honestly beyond Cosette’s wildest dreams after growing up with Adrastos, Acacia, and her older sisters.

Even numbers for the fic writer game?

2) Is there a trope you’ve yet to try your hand at, but really want to?

I have not yet done true enemies to friends to lovers and I need to do it because I love it so much.

4) How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them?

Oh man. So many. I have Alfie’s fic Chaos Theory, Stella’s Fic, my Bucky Barnes found family Fic and literally so many that are half outlined. I always have at least five to ten ideas running through my brain at any given moment. 

One I’m really excited about that isn’t OC related is a Bellarke Much Ado About Nothing AU, with Bellamy as Benedick, Clarke as Beatrice, Raven as Hero, Finn as Claudio, and Roan and Ontari as Don Pedro and Don John.

6) Share one of your weaknesses.

I am awful at writing action scenes. I actively go out of my way to avoid them. (Like making Jas faint during the Mutliplex fight). I am also really bad at tagging dialogue.

8) Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about”

Cisco smirked at her response, “please, you practically drool all over him when he’s in the room.”

She shook her head, “Barry’s my best friend, that’s all,” She began, sticking her tongue out at Cisco, “and I do not drool”

This is such a sibling interaction and I could see the entire scene unfold before my entire eyes. Plus, I’d never been good at writing Cisco, and then this scene happened and It just felt perfect.

10) Which fic has been the easiest to write?

Surprisingly, Chain Reaction. I wasn’t expecting it to be so easy, but Jasmine’s character really just flew off the pages for me.

12) Is there an episode above all others that inspires you just a little bit more?

Legends of Tomorrow: “Phone Home” or “Legends of To-Meow-Meow”

Both of them are meaningful but hilarious while playing with traditional tropes and just going batshit crazy. It reminds me to not take my work too seriously.

14) What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever come across?

Don’t name your characters using the same initial or with phonetically similar names. 

Fuck that! I will name my characters however I see fit. It stifles creativity and if you have a name that would work, then use it! 

16) If you only could write one pairing for the rest of your life, which pairing would it be?

Look, you know it, I know it, the entire community knows it. Bellarke for life baby!

18) Do you use any tools, like worksheets or outlines?

I use outlines, OneNote, character worksheets and timelines to keep everything in check. I am a very messy and disorganized person so the more I can organize my thoughts the better. 

20) Describe your perfect writing conditions.

Just me, a coffee, my bedroom, a comfortable chair, my headphones, a good playlist and people to talk to and bounce ideas off of. (but they stay quiet or are virtual)

22) Choose a passage from one of your earlier fics and edit it into your current writing style. (Person sending the ask is free to make suggestions).

Cosette reached in her pocket to grab the forty-sous. Her hand came up empty. Oh no. What was she going to do now? 

Her sore throat burned as she swallowed down her nerves, anxiously pulling the ragged shawl closer around her shoulders, the frayed threads barely keeping the garment together while she reached down to grab the wooden bucket, water rushing over her bare feet, freezing her already cold legs.

24) Have you ever deleted one of your published fics?

When I was starting out yes. Now I don’t unless I plan on not continuing it. Every piece of writing you put out is valuable.

26) Do you beta yourself? If so, what kind of beta are you?

I try to as much as possible! I don’t really get many offers to beta, but when I do, I try my best. I’m a pretty harsh editor and I know what I like and don’t like so I try to be supportive with a hint of “this kind of sucks but I respect your decisions”

28) Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.

@probably-voldemort : I’ve mentioned them so much on this site, but they are honestly one of the most talented writers I’ve ever encountered. The way they detail every character’s thought process and the dialogue and the ANGST. It’s all just *chef’s kiss*

@cassercole : Liz is so fantastic as coming up with unique ideas and making you care about the characters she creates. Like, I was really on the fence about Bucky, until I read RIM and then I was like, ‘I get it now’

@ocfairygodmother: The og and the person who inspired me to join the OC community, Jan is so talented at creating her own canon and then making it work with already existing canon. Like Entreat Me Not To Leave is my main source of Outlander news now. I don’t even watch the show anymore because her fic replaced it in my mind.

30) Do you accept prompts?

Absolutely! I just may not get to them for a while haha.

32) How do you feel about smut?

Alright look, I’m not good at writing it, and I’m not a fan of reading it. I just have a really complicated relationship with sex in general and I’d rather keep it out of my writing until I know more about it.

Oooh, Okay. I’m hoping you mean Chain Reaction, since that’s what I’m working on right now, and while the ending is FAAAAARRRR away, I think I have a good alternate ending. (I’m probably gonna cut it off at Crisis or just skip over season 6)

The lead singer of 4 Town, one of the biggest teen bands in the world. Cosette’s got a voice that would make sirens blush. It plans on continuing to work with their bandmates Jazz, Aaron, Erin (NB), and Tae Young in spreading joy throughout the world with their music.

For a celebrity, she is very laidback and nonchalant, the kinda person you could really hang out with. It’s because of this personality that they won Zoe’s heart.

Cosette has beef with Lila, as the Italian singer has been trying to steal her work for a few years now, only changing tiny details in the process.

She gives back to her community and promotes charities with her heroic friends. Cosette wants to make sure their fame is used to help others.

At times, Cosette feels as though she’s not made as much impact as her more fantastical or magical classmates, but is reassured by her girlfriend that she’s a hero through and through.

Miraculous Barbie: The Magic of Pegasus (Starring the Bourgeois/Lee Sisters)

And so our story begins…

Long ago, in a faraway and snowy kingdom, there lived a princess. Her name was Zoe…and today was her 16th birthday! Zoe’s father, King Andre, approached his daughter’s room, armed with her birthday present…only to discover she wasn’t there, immediately sending the whole palace into a panic and infuriating her mother, Queen Audrey. (If they had bothered actually looking in her room, they would have found the note she left.)

Meanwhile, a ways away from the palace, the young princess is enjoying her favorite pastime, ice skating, at which she’s the best in the kingdom! Just then, she happens to crash into an adorable polar bear cub, who she quickly befriends, and seeing she seems to have no family, names her Pollen for her love of flowers and decides to take her home!

But when she arrives, she finds her angry mother and worried father waiting for her. Her mother reminds her that she is absolutely forbidden to leave the castle, with her father hastily adding ‘without permission’. Frustrated with their constant restrictions, Zoe asks for the hundredth time why they are so against her leaving the palace, and for the hundredth time, her mother’s glare silences her father’s attempts to explain.

Disgusted that Zoe brought a wild animal home with her and fed up with her ‘defiance’, Audrey forbids Zoe from ever going skating again, devastating the girl, who runs to her room in tears as Andre feels this may be going too far.

That night, as Zoe lays on her bed, frustratedly ranting to Pollen about her controlling parents, she hears music out of her open window. Stepping out on the balcony, she sees many of the villagers skating on the frozen town square, having a celebration to honor the princess’ birthday, go figure. Smiling to herself, Zoe decides that, what better way would there be to thank them for thinking of her today than to make an appearance? She almost never gets to meet any of her subjects, after all!

Donning her favorite dress and stealing back her skates from where Audrey hung them, Zoe sneaks out of the palace. As Zoe arrives, everyone seems to freeze as they watch the princess skate, but she quickly resumes the party with her good humor, skating with a few of the village children before dazzling everyone with her amazing talent on the ice.

But it’s at that moment that the sky is filled with a strange green mist, and from this a griffin swoops down, a man with an arrogant but dangerous air about him astride it. Swaggering up to Zoe, the man declares she is indeed the most beautiful girl in all the land. He introduces himself as Xavier…her future husband, which Zoe does not take very well at all, because who does this guy think he is?

Having seen the mist appear in the sky, Audrey and Andre arrive, with the latter telling Xavier firmly to leave Zoe alone, a demand which is sneeringly denied, along with a smug reminder of what happened to their ‘other daughter’, which confuses Zoe, because since when did she have a sister?

Having had enough of this situation, Zoe demands answers from her parents and for Xavier to leave, because no way in HELL is she going to marry him! In response, Xavier uses his staff to turn both her parents and all of her subjects into statues, with the ultimatum that he will only free them if she gives in, horrifying Zoe. He also adds that she’s more than welcome to join them if she’s still getting cold feet.

But it’s at that moment that something crazy happens. A beautiful golden pegasus with a shining blonde mane swoops down from the sky and rescues Zoe, whisking her away from Xavier, who warns that Zoe has three days to change her mind before his spell becomes permanent.

As they ride through the sky, the dumbstruck Zoe is surprised to discover the pegasus is able to speak, explaining that Xavier is an incredibly powerful sorcerer who takes what he wants when he wants, and that she’s taking Zoe to the Cloud Kingdom, where she’ll be safe. But when Zoe asks who she is and why she saved her, the pegasus answers that her name is Chloe but hesitates on the second question.

They then arrive at the beautiful cloud palace, and are greeted by the three princesses, Candace, Staci and Eloise. Zoe then meets the Cloud Queen, Dahlia, and explains her situation as best she can with Chloe’s help. Dahlia gives her a beautiful new dress and a comfortable room to stay in, and it’s then that Zoe learns from Staci that Chloe, as in the pegasus, is her sister.

Sensing Chloe’s distress, Dahlia steps up to explain. Just like with Zoe, it had been Chloe’s 16th birthday, when Xavier appeared from the sky. When Chloe, just like her sister, had refused to marry him, and her parents ordered him to leave, he transformed the young princess into a pegasus, inspired by the kingdom’s coat of arms. With the spell unable to be broken, Chloe had fled the kingdom and taken refuge with Dahlia and her girls. Zoe is extremely upset, because why the hell was she never told any of this?! Chloe honestly can’t think of a good answer in defense of their parents.

Desperate to save her people and help her sister, Zoe is certain there must be a way to defeat Xavier, with Staci suggesting something called a Wand of Light, only to be shushed by Candace, who reminds her that Chloe doesn’t like talking about it. At Zoe’s insistence, Dahlia explains that a Wand of Light has the most powerful magic of all, but you can’t just find one, you have to build it. And to do that, you need three things: a measure of courage, a ring of love, and a gem of ice lit by Hope’s eternal flame.

Zoe is sure that they can gather the components in time, it’s only three things after all! But Chloe bitterly insists that it’s only a fairytale, she’s tried for years and accomplished nothing. But after encouragement from her sister, she agrees to give it one more shot! Before they leave, Chloe takes Zoe to see the Cloud Princesses paint the clouds for the sunrise, filling the sky with beautiful color and giving both girls the courage they need. Dahlia gives Chloe a necklace with a magical bell that she can ring if she ever needs the Cloud Queen’s help, and they’re off.

Meanwhile, back at his dark palace, Xavier is, as always, cruelly berating his three previous wives, who he transformed into trolls once he grew bored of them, and forces to serve his every whim. He prepares the castle to welcome his new bride, hoping this one won’t…disappoint him.

The two sisters begin their journey in the deepest, darkest part of the Forbidden Forest, a place filled with shadows and monsters. They’re both more than a little rattled…even more so when they hear footsteps besides their own, and a frightened Pollen falls through a hole down a long slide, and the sisters are suddenly caught in a net trap! It’s at this moment, they meet Cosette, a surly young blacksmith who’s lived in the Forbidden Forest for years. She cuts the two down and they exchange introductions. Zoe asks where the tunnel Pollen fell through leads to, to which Cosette only sarcastically answers ‘big trouble’. When her request to be taken there is declined, Zoe promptly jumps down the tunnel, leading Cosette and Chloe to deduce that she’s crazy.

It turns out that the tunnel empties directly into the cooking pot of a giant named Ollie, who plans to cook the princess and her cub for lunch. However, with some quick thinking, Zoe is able to get him to try and prove his strength as a giant compared to others she’s met (a lie, but he doesn’t need to know that), culminating in him chaining himself to the wall, while Zoe uses her hair ribbon and a fork as a grappling rope to climb out, bidding the giant goodbye before he manages to collapse his entire house on himself!

When Zoe reunites with her sister, and surprisingly Cosette, who cared a bit more than they let on about Zoe getting hurt. It’s then that Zoe’s hair ribbon starts to glow, and Chloe notes that it’s her exact measure! A measure of courage! Now that they have the first piece of the Wand of Light, Zoe is feeling a great deal of confidence about their chances, but Cosette believes that they’re chasing fairytales. It’s then that Zoe realizes that once they have all three pieces, they’ll need a smith to put them together, and she asks for their help. Though she doesn’t let on, what Zoe says about needing to do the right thing gets to Cosette, and it agrees to help them. With that, they set out to find the gem of ice!

The two make their way up into the snowy mountains, where they come to a ramshackle shop run by an old acquaintance of Cosette, Wayhem. The young blacksmith states that he’s a good-for-nothing thief, but if there’s one thing he knows, it’s jewels! They enter the shop, and are both flustered when Wayhem mistakes them as a couple. Zoe explains what they’re looking for, and gives him her skates in exchange for what he knows. He tells them about a gem that may fit the description, but that it’s cursed, which is why he never went after it himself. Taking the map he gives them, they make their way further up into the mountains.

After traveling for hours, they decide to rest in a cave for the night so Chloe and Cosette’s horse can rest. Cosette builds a fire to keep them warm, and they get a good night’s sleep. As they exit the cave, Zoe notices the peak of a mountain in the distance, gleaming like a gem in the rising sun, and knows that’s where they need to go. Chloe flies them up to the mountain peak, and they enter an icy cave.

Back at Wayhem’s shop, Xavier arrives after being called by the scavenger, who shows him the princess’ skates, but refuses to divulge any more until given proper incentive. Xavier realizes that Zoe intends to build a Wand of Light, and goes to leave… but not before he changes Wayhem into a literal doormat and takes back the money he paid him!

Back at the icy mountain cave, the four companions stumble upon a message on the wall, which Cosette is able to read: “Beware…take only what you need, but never from greed.” A passageway opens, and they make their way down into the cave, emerging in a cave filled with beautiful gems made of ice. Zoe is drawn to a particular one, and chooses it as the gem for the wand…but Cosette also takes one. However, the cave doesn’t collapse, revealing she needed it for an unselfish reason. Zoe wants to ask about it, but must hold off until later, as unfortunately, the cave now IS collapsing because Pollen, who has more than once shown a love for shiny things, has taken as many gems as she can hold. Thankfully, Chloe gets them all out just in the nick of time!

Arriving back at the cave they spent the night, the only component remaining is a ring of love, with Cosette suggesting maybe they could forge one. As she gets a fire going, Zoe asks what Cosette needed the second ice gem for, and reluctantly, they tell their story. Its mother abandoned their family, taking most of their money with her, and Cosette accidentally blew the rest of it while trying to earn more in a game with Wayhem. She had resolved not to return home until she could pay their father back, and the ice gem should be able to do that.

Cosette will need metal to make the ring of love, and to Zoe’s surprise, Chloe offers her crown, which she deeply treasures as a reminder of what she once was. Cosette offers to use their sword instead, but Chloe insists, because she loves her sister and her people, transforming the crown into a ring. Now united, the three components of the Wand of Light begin to glow, showing they are all present. With the fire ready, Cosette begins to weld them together into the weapon that will hopefully defeat Xavier.

Once the Wand of Light is complete, Cosette presents it to Zoe, wondering how they can see if it works, but Zoe has an idea! Holding up the wand, she wishes with all her heart to break the spell on her sister. The wand begins to glow…and Chloe is changed back into a human! Overcome with joy, the two sisters share their first real hug! (Also, apparently the curse kept Chloe from aging, because she looks like she’s the same age as Zoe even though she should be like twice that, but whatever. (It was that way in the movie with Brietta, just fyi.))

Resolved to defeat Xavier, Zoe declares it’s time to go home!…the only problem is they’re miles away and Chloe can’t fly anymore… Thankfully, Chloe remembers the bell Dahlia gave her, and the Cloud Queen sends two of the Royal pegasi to transport them. It’s here that Zoe bids a reluctant goodbye to Cosette, who she has been developing mutual feelings for, and the blacksmith goes on their way.

But as the sisters are flying back to the Cloud Castle, they are attacked by Xavier and his griffin, who chases them into an icy ravine. He hits Chloe’s horse and sends her tumbling to the ground, Zoe racing down to her sister. Furious with Xavier for harming Chloe, Zoe grabs the Wand of Light, she commands it to destroy the sorcerer…but it doesn’t work.

Feeling she has no other option, Zoe agrees to be Xavier’s bride if he releases everyone. But he now rescinds the offer, as he’s not too happy about the “Destroy Him!” thing, stating that she is ‘just like his other wives’. He steals the wand of light…and then buries Zoe in an avalanche!

Having now woken up, Chloe looks for her sister. Directed by Pollen to the massive pile of snow, she begins to panic, crying out desperately for Zoe as she digs. Cosette hears her, and begins frantically helping her look. They find Zoe, but she’s ice cold and unconscious.

They bring her back to the Cloud Kingdom, where the princesses tend to her. After a few hours, Cosette and her sister’s pleas seem to reach Zoe, and she wakes up. In the heat of the moment, the princess and the blacksmith share a kiss.

Zoe realizes that it’s almost sundown, and this is the third day! They are almost out of time! The three race to Xavier’s dark castle to retrieve the Wand of Light and stop him once and for all! The Cloud Princesses slow down the sunset as much as they can to give them more time, but it may not be enough…

Back in his fortress, Xavier attempts to use the Wand of Light on his wives to make them work faster, but obviously fails, declaring it useless and tossing it aside, which causes the gem to break loose from the hilt. This happens at the same time Cosette and the royal sisters arrive, preparing to launch an ambush. While Chloe stays and tends to the horses, Cosette and Zoe skate down through a narrow tunnel, each surprised by the other’s skill. Cosette then moves to distract the griffin while Zoe sneaks into the main room, trying to find the wand. Xavier returns and nearly catches her, but he is quickly distracted by Cosette fighting his griffin. Zoe manages to find the wand, but not without the gem falling off and slipping over the edge of the balcony or before Cosette is knocked over a cliffside by the griffin!

Distraught, Zoe drops to the ground, feeling she has failed. Thankfully, someone pulls themself up from the cliffside and offers her the backup gem they took from the cave. It’s a perfect fit, but only in time for Xavier to arrive and steal it with his magic, as his griffin tackles Cosette. But he himself doesn’t hold the Wand of Light…one of his former wives does. Zoe reaches out to them, appealing that they deserve better than this, that she can make a better future for everyone. Moved by her words, they give the wand to Zoe, who wishes from the bottom of her heart, not from anger this time, to break all of Xavier’s evil spells. She is changed into a beautiful dress, and her people are unpetrified, and Xavier’s former wives are changed from trolls back into themselves! Xavier himself is changed into a pathetic little man, who will now be forced to serve the women he mistreated for the rest of his days!

Zoe returns to the kingdom with Chloe and the two confront their parents about keeping all this a secret, with Andre apologizing, stating that he always wanted to explain but Audrey forbade it. The two sisters make up for lost time and prepare to rule the kingdom together. Cosette returns to her home, and is welcomed back by their father with open arms.

A couple years later, the entire kingdom is at the Cloud Castle, celebrating Zoe and Cosette’s engagement. There’s a huge ice rink and everyone’s eyes are on the couple as they skate in a beautiful waltz.

And they all lived happily ever after!

I have gathered thirty teenagers looking for their fifteen minutes of fame for a chance to compete in many grueling challenges, all for the chance to win the grand prize of one million euros!
