All the way back in November 2023, articles were dropping about the sheer, devastating magnitude of Sudanese genocide. RSF forces and its allied Arab militias embarked on a relentless campaign of slaughtering and raping Sudanese people, on the basis of nothing but their African ethnicity. This caused many Sudanese people to flee the rampaged El Geneina, a city in West Darfur (where the Masalit hailed from, but which they were expelled from in the most dehumanizing of ways). As if that wasn't enough, the RSF then resumed its genocidal acts in Ardamata, targeting and massacring the tens of thousands of people already displaced there. Where's the mainstream media's coverage of this? Or is spotlighting the ongoing genocide of darker-skinned people like the Masalit too humanizing of them?

While we’re spreading the word about Palestine, free Sudan and free the Democratic Republic of the Congo too.
There is a genocide going on in the Darfur region of Sudan. It’s been going on for 20 FUCKING YEARS. 2,000 people have died in just 5 days. Because of the Darfur genocide, millions (maybe even more) of people have either been raped, killed or displaced. Since April of 2023, things have gotten worse in the country. The UN just fucking withdrew from Sudan. The media has not said a word about this.
In the Congo, there is a genocide going on as imperial powers are exploiting the country for its resources. Many people, including women and children, are being forced to mine hazardous materials like cobalt. Those materials are not safe to touch or breathe unless there is safety equipment involved, and they don’t get any safety equipment. They are fucking being FORCED to touch and breathe those materials with nothing to protect them every day, and many people, including mothers with their babies strapped to their backs, are not exempt from this.
The materials many people are forced to mine and expose themselves to were probably used to manufacture the screen I am using to type this and the screen you are staring at right now. Please, do not buy new phones, computers, consoles, cars, etc. if you do not want to support this practice, if you absolutely HAVE to buy one of these, I suggest you go for used stuff. You can survive without buying the newest iPhone model, I promise your year old phone is still going to be very useful to you.
Please reblog, I dont care if you think this doesn’t fit your blog’s aesthetic.

Have you seen what's going on in El Fasher Sudan? The rsf is trying to enter, which would trap 800,000 people and put their lives at risk
“We have a city about to be under siege,” Raymond told the briefing. “The situation for those in el-Fasher will likely get significantly worse in the coming hours and days. Civilians don't have a clear escape route. We call this a kill box.“ Raymond said he believed the risk of mass atrocities and targeted ethnic killings was “inevitable” and that the situation was going to get “significantly worse” in the next few days and weeks. “I want to be clear here. 9/11 was 3,000 people. There's been 40,000 civilian casualties in Gaza. This situation can potentially generate Hiroshima and Nagasaki-level casualties,” Raymond said. The US atomic bombs detonated above the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945 killed an estimated 215,000 people.'

From the statement by Darfur Women Action Group:
Darfur Women Action Group is extremely alarmed by the disturbing news coming out from El Fasher, North Darfur. We are reaching out to you with an urgent appeal to seek your support to call on the US government and the United Nations Security Council to take serious action to protect civilians and avert the unfolding and deadly mass atrocities that are currently underway in El Fasher, North Darfur.
From the latest information on the ground, we just got the news that there is a huge mobilization among Arab tribes affiliated to the RSF to circle El Fasher and also mobilization from those rebel groups sided with SAF and interborder tribes from Chad and other parts of Darfur. There is already a blockade of fuel coming into the city and there are no water tankers operating to supply water for the large numbers of the Internal Displaced Person(IDP). The limited commercial food supply that used to come from Libya or Chad is now blocked from reaching those in need, isolating civilians from all survival means. People are already dying and all indicators point out the fact that the RSF is preparing for a new decisive attack on El Fasher and try to wipe out not only the SAF forces and the existence of African tribes who sought refuge there. The situation in El Fasher, if allowed, will be beyond any one can imagine.

"women in sudan have to look up ways to prevent pregnancy by rape because of the RSF raping women......are we HEARING THIS" "please keep sudan in your prayers too their situation is terrifying and they need all the help and awareness" [source: @/ BISBAAS_ on X. 12/18/23.]
This has been going on for a very long time in Sudan. For those of you who were not aware, please do your research and stay informed. Sudanese women and young girls -have been disproportionately targeted and sexually violated and assaulted by militias. This is by far NOT an extensive reference list, but this is a start.

Saw this and I actually wanted to add some actual details, in case people didn't know/weren't curious.
US Specific Recessions:
Recession of 1990 and 1991
2000 to 2001 Recession
The Great Recession, from 2007 to 2009 (this does not include the recovery, which took years and arguably never really happened)
The COVID Recession
Genocides:
Rohingya (2016 and ongoing)
Iraqi Turkmen (2014-2017)
Yazidis Genocide (2014-2019)
Darfur (2003 and ongoing)
Congolese (2002-2003)
Hutus (1996-1997)
Rwanda (1994)
Bosnia (1992-1995)
I'm presuming we can all agree he was also referring to Ghaza right now
So yeah. 9 Genocides and 4 major recessions since 1990. If he was born in 1985 there are 3 more genocides (Anfal, Gukurahundi, and Isaaq).
