From the statement by Darfur Women Action Group:
Darfur Women Action Group is extremely alarmed by the disturbing news coming out from El Fasher, North Darfur. We are reaching out to you with an urgent appeal to seek your support to call on the US government and the United Nations Security Council to take serious action to protect civilians and avert the unfolding and deadly mass atrocities that are currently underway in El Fasher, North Darfur.
From the latest information on the ground, we just got the news that there is a huge mobilization among Arab tribes affiliated to the RSF to circle El Fasher and also mobilization from those rebel groups sided with SAF and interborder tribes from Chad and other parts of Darfur. There is already a blockade of fuel coming into the city and there are no water tankers operating to supply water for the large numbers of the Internal Displaced Person(IDP). The limited commercial food supply that used to come from Libya or Chad is now blocked from reaching those in need, isolating civilians from all survival means. People are already dying and all indicators point out the fact that the RSF is preparing for a new decisive attack on El Fasher and try to wipe out not only the SAF forces and the existence of African tribes who sought refuge there. The situation in El Fasher, if allowed, will be beyond any one can imagine.

While we’re spreading the word about Palestine, free Sudan and free the Democratic Republic of the Congo too.
There is a genocide going on in the Darfur region of Sudan. It’s been going on for 20 FUCKING YEARS. 2,000 people have died in just 5 days. Because of the Darfur genocide, millions (maybe even more) of people have either been raped, killed or displaced. Since April of 2023, things have gotten worse in the country. The UN just fucking withdrew from Sudan. The media has not said a word about this.
In the Congo, there is a genocide going on as imperial powers are exploiting the country for its resources. Many people, including women and children, are being forced to mine hazardous materials like cobalt. Those materials are not safe to touch or breathe unless there is safety equipment involved, and they don’t get any safety equipment. They are fucking being FORCED to touch and breathe those materials with nothing to protect them every day, and many people, including mothers with their babies strapped to their backs, are not exempt from this.
The materials many people are forced to mine and expose themselves to were probably used to manufacture the screen I am using to type this and the screen you are staring at right now. Please, do not buy new phones, computers, consoles, cars, etc. if you do not want to support this practice, if you absolutely HAVE to buy one of these, I suggest you go for used stuff. You can survive without buying the newest iPhone model, I promise your year old phone is still going to be very useful to you.
Please reblog, I dont care if you think this doesn’t fit your blog’s aesthetic.

gentle reminder that the war in palestine is not an internet trend. while it's amazing that we're all raising awareness, i ask of all of you that you don't use it as a basis to look like you're empathetic or whatever online. because genocides are always wrong, not just the ones that are trendy to look like you're against.
so, when you support the people of gaza - which you absolutely should, don't get me wrong here - remember to also reblog the posts about the nigerian genocide, the darfur genocide, the genocide of the uyghur people... all of which (and more!) are ongoing genocides.
remember that activism shouldn't be confined to whatever's currently on brand to protest about, and your morals aren't contingent on looking good on the internet.

I stand for the people of Palestine
I stand for the people of The Congo
I stand for the Rohingya people of Myanmar
I stand for the people of Yemen
I stand for the Darfuri people of Sudan
I do not stand for any nation, state or corporation
I stand for the people of the world, collectively suffering under settler colonialism and capitalist exploitation.
Until all of us are free, none of us are.
injustice anywhere hurts justice everywhere.
Do not let their voices go unheard, censorship is violence.

Anyone who believes the ANC objects to genocide on general principles should consider this:
This is, incidentally, why I not only cannot accept that South Africa's ruling political party has discovered the concept that 'genocide is bad' is a thing it actually believes it, but that it specifically if anything has openly endorsed genocide of Black people as a point it considers an acceptable price of modern statesmanship. The Arab supremacist dictator Omar Al-Bashir, creator of the Janjaweed, was given the equivalent of a ticker tape parade and a medal for the ANC for creating an Arab supremacist-Islamist combination to slaughter the Dinka and Nuer of Darfur.
The ANC, the same people who fought so hard against white supremacy, have forgotten anything they used to stand for and the only moral principle guiding them now appears to be sheer spite.

⭕️IMPORTANT UPDATE:
dear supporters and donors i am blessed to tell you that due to your generosity. we have reached our financial goal. words cannot express our gratitude for each one-off you.
we are incredibly grateful for your thoughtfulness. due to the last two months complications the fund we had raise so far (Subtract western union transaction fees and GoFundMe commission) will help to evacuate my family, as it's going to cover the traveling cost All the way from Sennar state to Kigali, Rwanda and life expenses for the first three months.
You've been with us since the beginning of our journey of seeking financial help. as now we are in shortage of 3000 USD, which is the minimum of (show money in the airport) for a Sudanese family, as Rwanda has lunched new procedures for Sudanese due to the security situation in Sudan. also, this amount of money will be used to stablish a business to support our self in Kigali.
Thank you again for coming to rescue my family
Salam
My family is still trapped in Sudan , under the threatening to be displaced again.
Kindly, share the link of the fundraiser that's my friend organized to help us reaching our goal ✨️💛.

The caption on the photo of this post states: "A child dies every two hours in Sudan camp for displaced people, says MSF"
Tumblr media
As many creators/activists have already pointed out -data collection has already been very difficult to begin with as these numbers can be higher. This is just beyond horrific.

Please watch this video by Yassmin Abdel-Magied and visit her Instagram page (linked with video) for information on how to help.
Right now the militant group the Rapid Support Forces are preparing the next stage of a genocide they began in 2003. Over 800,000 people are living or seeking refuge in El-Fasher, Sudan, and the vast majority of them are members of indigenous peoples such as the Fur and the Massalit. These peoples have been the targets of genocide since at least 2003, when the RSF (then known as the Janjaweed or Devils on Horseback) began ethnically cleansing them from Darfur. Now, with so many displaced people gathered in El-Fasher due to the ongoing war, a massacre of horrifying proportions is imminent. Unless international pressure is successfully mounted against the RSF’s financier, 800,000 people are going to be murdered.
Visit EyesOnSudan.net and DarfurWomenAction.org and their partners for more information on the war, and opportunities for action and support

A little bit on what’s happening in Sudan!!
I’m going to post more details explaining what’s been happening and what YOU can do to help. One of the biggest things though, is to TALK about Sudan. It’s not getting much focus. The people of Sudan have been suffering since April! There’s a full blackout right now!

Saw this and I actually wanted to add some actual details, in case people didn't know/weren't curious.
US Specific Recessions:
Recession of 1990 and 1991
2000 to 2001 Recession
The Great Recession, from 2007 to 2009 (this does not include the recovery, which took years and arguably never really happened)
The COVID Recession
Genocides:
Rohingya (2016 and ongoing)
Iraqi Turkmen (2014-2017)
Yazidis Genocide (2014-2019)
Darfur (2003 and ongoing)
Congolese (2002-2003)
Hutus (1996-1997)
Rwanda (1994)
Bosnia (1992-1995)
I'm presuming we can all agree he was also referring to Ghaza right now
So yeah. 9 Genocides and 4 major recessions since 1990. If he was born in 1985 there are 3 more genocides (Anfal, Gukurahundi, and Isaaq).
