Problem: too many tasks in my head, decision paralysis

Solution in progress: wrote all my to dos on tiny pieces of paper and put them in two jars*.

Day 1 results: I successfully finished both tasks I randomly drew and my brain gremlin is excited about what we will get tomorrow

*The selection criteria of which goes where was "can I live with potentially drawing this task weeks from now?” and if the answer is no, it went into the priority jar.

Look i hate when ppl make the sheep some kind of Monsters who only view chuuya as an object bcs the only one who is confirmed to view him as a object is fucking Shirase the rest of them lit taught him about the word, he didnt even knew what bread was (if i mistaken about something let me know pls)

no... shirase was definitely the one who took him in, and the one who showed him the bread and taught him he could eat it. Notably the other kids were initially very wary of chuuya despite the kid being on the brink of death (and that isn't unwarranted. they might not have known but chuuya is the one who literally turned Suribachi into a crater town.)

Honestly i think the reason the Sheep and Chuuya had their falling out was because they started becoming so reliant on him. Remember the Sheep were a group of children who were trying survive in a really hostile post-war environment. They couldn't trust adults and they couldn't trust outsiders. Chuuya entering their ranks was a risk, but his powers could *protect them* they could use him.

And with what chuuya was known to be capable of even during his time with the Sheep (he was infamous! he had a dramatic street name! he could kill a near army with his hands in his pockets!) no wonder they were immediately on high alert as soon as Chuuya struck out with his own goals, with someone from the Port Mafia no less. "Why is chuuya blowing us off? Why's he lying? Why is he going with the enemy. Is he going to turn against us?"

It's not that they saw him as an object, they obviously don't based on so many of the interactions, they just don't understand that he has feelings that are worth respecting and accommodating. It's not that he "ran out of use" to them, but they now see him as a *threat* :P

for real WHERE does the idea that [utdr humans] are nongendered so that "you can project on them" come from. their literal character arcs are about NOT being a blank slate to be filled in by the audience

i think i understand the assumption on some level for undertale, because there is a very intentional effort to make you identify with the "player character" in order to make your choices feel like your own (the beating heart of undertale's metanarrative lies in giving you an alternative path to violence against its enemies after all, and whether you're still willing to persue it for your own selfish reasons. YOUR agency is crucial).

of course, the cardinal plot twist of the main ending sweeps the rug from under your feet on that in every way, and frisk's individuality becomes, in turn, a tool to further UT's OTHER main theme: completionism as a form of diegetic violence within the story. replaying the game would steal frisk's life and happy ending from them for our own perverse sentimentality, emotionally forcing our hand away from the reset button.

i think their neutrality absolutely aids in that immersion. but also, there's this weird attitude by (mostly) cis fans where it being functional within the story makes it... somehow "editable" and "up to the player" as well? which is gross and shows their ass on how they approach gender neutrality in general lol.

but also like. there's plenty of neutral, non PCharacters in undertale and deltarune. even when undertale was just an earthbound fangame and the player immersion metanarrative was completely absent, toby still described frisk as a "young, androgynous person". sometimes characters are just neutral by design. it's not that hard to understand lol.

anyone who makes this argument for kris deltarune is braindead. nothing else to say about it.

I'm also trying to make one to match the bards from the dig cite because I still love those guys so much <3 I'm too tired at the moment to try and match their colors and genes, but also I'm stuck between using the familiar pallets or the ones from the guys I have based on them...

i don't really have a rewrite since I never got into SDC enough. I didn't get into SDC enough because it felt like they were barely friendly most of the time. I think they leaned too hard into Jotarp being cool and stoic and never fucking up, and the story revolves around him mostly so I didn't get invested (*he* barely felt invested but I hear it's less Than on the manga). The most emotional beat was Avdol and Polnareff actually bonding, but it didn't feel like the other characters did

My opinion: we don't need 700 villains in one part. It's a roadtrip story. Make them like, eat foreign foods together and get drunk and be friends. And THEN kill them.
