Companions of circumstance
Chance upon the fallen city
Pursuing their draconian foe
Into the ruins
A temple stands against the tides of time
A well of untold depths harboring ancient terror inside
Dragon, Emerging from the deep
Ebon, Miasma of fear
Enshrouding, Oppressing, the all-encompassing
Black wings of death unfold
Death rides
On dread wings Of midnight
Fear strikes
Through heroes' hearts
One of the mighty shall die
Cruelly felled by
Acid breath
Spewing death
Death on black wings
Flies tonight
Ground quakes and walls crash
Rearing back, the beast laughs
Withdrawn to the darkling well
Light returns where shadows fell
Dread fills the heroes
The blood curdling death throes
Of one of their number
Shriek through the haze
She strides from the temple
Staff held high
Wielding knowledge divine
Blue light engulfing
Holy light
A god's power bestowed
Gives life
Back to the dead
Now mighty plainsman arise
Mercifully healed by
Mishakal's light
On black wings death rides

Death of an angel
[Image description: Digital painting showcasing the funeral of an angel. The black coffin in which the angel lays is filled with red, white and pink flowers. On the headboard of the coffin, hands pull out a veil to show the dead angel; other hands surround the coffin, reaching out to touch it or the angel. The angel wears a white dress, has a pair of white wings that barely fit the coffin and on the place that would be their body, there is a pitch black silhouette. End description]
the not so cool original idea
[Description: The same art as above, except in this one the angel’s body is fully painted with white skin and a golden skeleton underneath it. End description]

I did something exactly like this before and it turned out awesome so now I want to do it again or rather give it a new take or a new spin to it.
Here's a fairly solid amount of all the numerous different types of media that I think both fit well in and can share the same universe as one of the top five greatest superhero shows ever made, Christopher McCulloch & Doc Hammer's The Venture Bros., showing the numerous different sides and tones of the same world that you can both read and see below for yourself:
• Yasuyuki Ueda's Hellsing Ultimate
• Takahiro Omori's Baccano!, Durarara!! and Durarara!! x2
• Sunao Katabuchi's Black Lagoon
• Masayuki Kojima's Monster
• Hiroshi Nishikiori, Tatsuyuki Nagai & Nobuharu Kamanaka's A Certain Magical Index, Railgun and Accelerator
• Tetsuro Araki's Death Note and Attack On Titan
• Chris Carter's The X Files Series (First nine seasons, Fight The Future, Millennium and The Lone Gunmen)
• Joss "Yikes!" Whedon's Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel
• Todd McFarlane's Spawn Trilogy (HBO)
• Tom Fontana's Oz
• David Simon's The Wire
