Where can I find patterns for making Fashion Doll Clothes?
A friend and I were chatting tonight about doll clothes, and it occurred to me that if you've never dabbled in making doll clothes before, you may not know where to find patterns for them. So I'm sharing a list with you guys of every resource I know of.
Paid-For Patterns:
Requiem Arts: https://raddollclothes.com/
This is one of the big go-to's of the community. Requiem Arts has patterns for so many different fashion dolls, from Monster High (G1 and G3) to Rainbow High, to a number of BJDs, to Barbies, and even several for the boy dolls. I've gone to them for many a Descendants pattern since not a lot of places offer them. Her blog also features a number of great posts on size differences between dolls, fixing articulation, and more.
Dollightful: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DollightfulPatterns
If you need Monster High and Ever After High patterns with easy to follow instructions, this is the place to go! Dollightful only has a handful of patterns up, but her instructions are super easy to follow. They're just as enjoyable as her YouTube videos.
Moonlight Jewel: https://moonlightjeweldolls.myshopify.com/collections/ebooks
This artist has an interesting mix of patterns for fashion dolls, once again it's a lot of Monster High, but also a little bit of Rainbow High. I have her two pattern books, and they've got some wonderful picture instructions that put into perspective how to follow along. I hadn't realized until making this post that she's released a couple of individual patterns from her YouTube videos, that's really cool!
Enchanterium: https://www.enchanterium.com/shop
The Enchanterium sisters are a delight, and their patterns for MH, EAH, and Smart Dolls encompass a wide variety of genres. They even have some 3D printing files for shoes and accessories.
Cosmomoore: https://ko-fi.com/cosmomoore/shop/sewingpatterns
Cosmomoore is great if you need patterns for Rainbow High, Barbie, or G3 Monster High. All of the G3 patterns are under the Creepy Class tag. I've tried their skirt pattern for G3 Draculaura, it was a breeze to put together when you know a few basic stitches.
Free Patterns:
Enchanterium: https://www.enchanterium.com/shop/freebies
Enchanterium offers a number of freebies at this link! Most of them are patterns from their older YouTube videos, so there's those as a resource to follow along with.
Cosmomoore: https://ko-fi.com/cosmomoore/shop/sewingpatterns
Once again, this artist has a number of freebies, but they don't have a specific tag.
Poulpe en Ciel's Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1lkI6inme4K6wxw0IqTSGGju2bIQMln_A
This artist is known for having some truly extravagant patterns for Monster High and Cave Club dolls. And she offers them in both English and French! Highly recommend checking out Poulpe on Instagram, her dolls are absolutely to die for, and she puts so much heart into making her stuff accessible for the wider community.
Chellywood: https://chellywood.com/
Chellywood's website is a diamond in the rough. If you're looking for a doll pattern for a doll most people don't make patterns for, Chelly probably has it. Her website is organized by size and goes into individualized pages for each doll line. It's fantastic. And on top of that, she has YouTube videos!
MyFroggyStuff: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipOJWM4ft-CgHQI3fhqNJzWLG30C45Xl3xs-tgatId430gKVW-J8w5cB9ViW2jRPFw?pli=1&key=Y2Y2UDJ6S01Gb2EwUHRZUVJDdm9FanpMdDZzY1RR
Barbie lovers rejoice, this is your kingdom! While there's no tagging system here, Toya has patterns for everything, from mermaid tails to cute easy dresses, this is a great place to go. Her YouTube channel is also an endless resource of creativity.
If you have any resources for patterns, or for places to buy doll clothing, feel free to reblog! I'd love to include more people from our lovely doll community so people know about them!

My attempt at explaining why EMS works and why swapping eyes won't help
Ok it always bothered me bc like there's no way it'd cure myopia just by swapping eyes so I decided to try to understand it. And yeah i reject swapping eyes bc that wasn't the point of EMS in canon, it was meant to be a sacrifice and a tragedy.
As we know, Mangekyo Sharingan (MS) has 2 problems: bad eyesight when not using sharingan and painful eye bleeding.
I hc that MS bleeds so much, bc in order to activate it, the user pushes much more chakra into their eyes and it creates very high blood pressure there. Pushing so much chakra into his eyes also worsens the cornea which affects the vision. They basically speedrun myopia.
So how EMS fix it?
For EMS to work they take not the whole eye, but only donor's eye's cornea, iris and anterior chamber, where by my hcs are chakra channels for the sharingan. Uchiha's eyes are stuffed with chakra channels. Same with Hyuuga, its went down from Otsutsuki's eyes.
So they take this (marked with yellow) part and basically slap onto the old eye, basically fusing these two areas. It somehow works, cuz in no way that would work for any normal human. But they're shinobi and Uchiha, who are direct descendants of an alien princess, that's already not really normal human.
Ok so, how then this procedure really works? Basically, with fused cornea it solves the problems
Fixes myopia. Like check out how lasik works, its pretty similar.
Eye bleeding. New cornea gives the old eye more chakra channels and it helps to redistribute the strain of the chakra pressure enough for the eye not to strain so much so no bleeding.
Adds new powers because of some chakra that was left in the anterior chamber + new cool MS pattern bc it's basically iris on iris situation.
Oh and btw, i think its pretty obvious why it should be siblings, mostly bc it's way less of a chance for transplant to get rejected.
#naruto#uchiha#theory#might add to this post later#im desperately trying to explain shit in naruto for it to make sense

Gwyn's family tree members references and genetics (! updates occured since the first time posting)
(An ask reply to an anon)
(A graph for convenience)
Alright, I will go with what we can certainly make out of the family tree! ...almost. There are definitely some missing links! You don't have to accept all of my suggestions here and only focus on 100% confirmed ones, but I will explain why I added them! Let's start in order!
Gwyn, his mother, his uncle Lloyd and... sister? cousin? fifth known child?
Unfortunately, yes, we can't be sure of Gwyn's eyes color since it appears to be just reflection of fire, nor of his hair color as he looks pretty aged!
UPDATE 01/12/2025: There is a datamined image of Gwyn without facial hair by kingborehaha on Bluesky ( x ). So, he had a really strong and square jaw XD Might or might not get inherited by Nameless King?
However, Lloyd is his uncle! It was never retconned in Dark Souls 3 despite what some people might believe, as he is called "collateral relative" ( 傍系 ) and not "derivative fraud" in Japanese script! This fits, so he was denounsed as an Allfather on the notion that direct descendant of Gwyn had more rights to it than just an uncle! His name also follows the pattern; Lloyd means 'grey', whereas Gwyn means 'white'!
At the same time, certain locations connected with the Way of White stuff (Sunlit Altar, altar in Undead Paris that Reah prays at, and altar in Catacombs where you find Darkmoon Seanse ring) all feature a statue of a woman in a crown, that is called a Goddess, that holds an infant with a sword:
I do not believe it is mother of Nameless King at all, since 1) statues of his were destroyed, so why keep the infant one? 2) his trademark weapon is spear, not sword, but Gwyn's IS sword and 3) this statue appears to be some 'common' object connected with Way of White! It represents three children of Gwyn as Filianore was not yet planned in Dark Souls 1 times; Sunlit Altar for NK since this is where you do Warrior of Sunlight covenant, Church in Undead Parish for Gwynevere since Reah prays there and one of the Seath's Channelers (who are notorious for kidnapping Gwynevere's maidens) hunts there, and Catacombs one for Gwyndolin because you find the ring required to meet him and one of his miracles (Tranquil Walk of Peace) near it! Would not that make it fitting if it was the grandmother of the tree children of the Sun?
Now, I am going to do something I normally dread to do. I am going to..... *swallows nervously* quote the text of the items descriptions in this post, instead of posting screenshots. :s Okay this will be VERY trying, but I have to do it to fit within images limit per post!
WHITE SEANCE RING
A divine ring entrusted to the head bishop of the Way of White and apostle to Allfather Lloyd, uncle to Lord Gwyn. It grants additional attunement slots. The head bishop of the Way of White is the guardian of law and caste, and one of the great royals of Thorolund.
LLOYD'S SWORD RING
Ring given to knights of the Way of White. Depicts Allfather Lloyd's Sword of Law. Boosts attack power when HP is full. Much time has passed since the worship of Lloyd was common in the Way of White. The clerics of Carim had always strongly asserted that Lloyd was a derivative fraud, and that the Allfather title was self-proclaimed. (Japanese script has 'collateral relative' (傍系) rather than 'derivative fraud')
GOLD COIN
Coin made of gold, with Allfather Lloyd and his white halo shown on its face. (...)
Lloyd have been a very relevant figure amongst clerics, taking Gwyn's role after his death until Gwyndolin grew some backbone, and 'white halo' is basically a symbol of the Way of White! However, as an uncle, he'd have to be a brother of either Gwyn's mother or father (I choose mother), and Gwyn's parents are never mentioned... I assume they died earlier. Maybe, like the statue with Gwyn in infancy suggests, too early and Gwyn was basically raised by Lloyd!
UPDATE 03/08/2025: I want to further dig into the matter: Lloyd and mother of Gwyn are gods of... what? For Lloyd, it is clear: god of Law and Caste, but I mean to refer the element!
'Aureole' is another word for a halo! The unusual, custom-made magic that Gwyndolin shared with Oolacile ( x ) uses the images of halos as well, though it seems to be connected with Oolacile requiring sort of "special attention" from Gods as Gwyndolin himself uses normal blue sorceries, and so does literally every human sorcerer in the setting who isn't connected to Oolacile! In this case, it must be connected with Manus and containing the darkness, not unlike what Filianore does with Ringed City.
But whereas magic and miracles of Gwyndolin were developed as separate tradition to the Way of White way back before he did claim title of Allfather himself multiple centuries later, Way of White Corona refers to initial Way of White! I think the halos in the sky might be Lloyd's element! They reflect the 'dimmed' sunlight, as they appear as refracted light resulted by ice crystals in the sky or a very particular clouding. You won't see halos in the clear sky, which thematically fits with how he is "grey" and not "white"! Meanwhile, the speculated mother of Gwyn is depicted with birds. I think mother of Gwyn was a Goddess of the Sky, and Lloyd is a God of clouding and light halos! The siblings are both connected with the sky, which IS where Sun and Moon shine!
We will get to Seath and Shira properly in due time, but in Japanese, Seath's description uses 外戚, which means in-law, related by marriage to a (female) relative of Gwyn! I don't think it is Gwynevere; she is only ever stated to marry Flann, besides, Yorshka calling Gwynevere a sister while also being child of Seath feels like a dealbreaker to me! I don't think it is Fillianore either, since she was given away to keep Pygmy away! But, Shira is a "daughter of the Duke and descendant of Gods" as she states, and also can use lightning that can be a gene if both Gwyn and NK owning it is of any indication! She is also of royal line!
The thing is... I am not sure who this mysterious relative of Gwyn is, specifically. Sister? Cousin? Unmentioned child? (if Gwyndolin and Filianore were never "showcased" unlike NK and Gwynevere, maybe someone else was dodging the spotlight? heh)
UPDATE 03/08/2025: My justification for this idea will be more apparent later, when we do get to Shira and Seath, but I've decided Caffrey fits in the place of a mysterious relative of Gwyn that Seath married:
I go back and forth on making her either a sister of Gwyn or a cousin (so, daughter of his uncle Lloyd). But, as I already speculate Lloyd and Gwyn's mother being connected with the sky themes, it could give Caffrey a reason to have wings by internal lore logic, and not just because the irl mythology Goddess Fortuna is commonly depicted with the winsgs x). It would for sure give Shira's feathers decoration double meaning, but I don't think it is a problem!
Nameless King / Faraam and... Izalith?
(This ( x ) video by Crest)
He is another character with whom I am not sure! It appears that he not always had his wonderful mane, but I am not certain whether his hair always was white or not! Unlike other known children of Gwyn, that appear to combine Gwyn's traits with second parent's, NK is also kind of just Gwyn but lesser, having nothing much to stand out by his own...? Gwyn's hair is most likely grey from aging, and this could apply to NK as well since he lived for a very long time. He also looks like a husk now, he is not exactly in his healthiest state when we meet him!
UPDATE 02/01/2025: I actually ended up loving the idea that Nameless King might be a child of affair between Gwyn and Izalith! Like I said, his siblings all have unique traits to stand out for (Gwynevere's healing and "bounty", Filianore's connection with Darkness and Gwyndolin's Moonlight), but he is simply like Gwyn and just has his lightning! So, perhaps his second parent did not have a unique affinity to stand out for, ie was not a God (or a dragon, for that matter)! I think Izalith might fit into this scheme as someone who would still be a figure important enough to be a mother of someone accepted as a legitimate heir of Gwyn, when Fire/Chaos was not always something she'd just pass onto her children:
IZALITH STAFF
Ancient catalyst of the Witch of Izalith and her daughters, used long before the dawn of chaos and of pyromancy.(...)
Him not having any flame or chaos corruption might be simply because he was born before flame became part of Izalith's body! At the same time, him being God of War is thematically appropriate for such parenting! Even putting aside the fact that Izalith and her daughters, indeed, waged war against Gods in the end, Fromsoft consistently has at least one region per game inspired by East Asian places on our planet be torn apart by war or idealising it or both! Izalith (the place) takes inspirations from both Japan and Cambogia, so with their track record it'd be entirely possible if culture of Izalith was pushing heavily on war, and Nameless King inherited the mindset for the lack of better term! After all, Gwyn's sunlight is not just a weapon, yet Nameless King had a focus on this specifically!
Additional point towards this idea is that Queen of Venn (Lost Sinner) and King of Alken (Old Iron King) both had an affair that went nowhere if ended in disaster and inherited souls of Izalith and Gwyn respectively! Souls of the Old Ones resonate with ones with most similar fates and essense, so would not it work even better had Izalith and Gwyn had an affair as well? + a sillier possible """evidence""": Lion people of Forossa are to Nameless King what crow mutants are to Velka, and they are all either brown or dark yellow! Whereas Quelaag and Quelana have brown hair, datamining (through loading NPC via debug menu mind you, simply removing helmet won't show this secret) revealed another daughter, Grana, has dark blond hair ( x )! Who knows, what if that's her genes x)
We only see the appearances of four of Izalith's daughters, and whereas three have normal humans appearance (ignore the lower body mutations!!!), Fair Lady is a little off! Izalith, on the other hand, appears to have a grey skin and blue lips! And it isn't necessarily a result of Chaos corruption or illness or anything of the sort (like look at Queelag having regular human skin tone)! Whereas intended game's lighting makes Fair Lady look as though she has grey skin and pale yellow-ish hair, her textures reveal grey hair and also a normal human skin-tone albeit sickly pale, as well as her stated to be a "deformed" member of the family:
WHITE HAIR TAILSMAN:
...This lock of hair belonged to a deformed member of the chaos witches, mothers of the art of pyromancy. (...)
That clearly refers to how she was born rather than her current mutation, because by this logic Quelaag would be "deformed" too, and yet she isn't singled out like this! Yet some gene that effected Fair Lady independent of Chaos is within the family. What remaining three sisters are like is up to interpretation, but for all we know, the mysterious cold colored skin of Izalith could be inherited.. With the idea of her being the mother of Nameless king, there is a non-zero chance that he'd have grey skin even in his healthy state, independently of what he ended like! Or dark red eyes like Quelaag and Queelana. That'd make an interesting design I guess x)
UPDATE 03/04/2025: I've had a sudden breakthrough that might hint at how to design Nameless King! It will touch upon some of the characters that are discussed in more detail below but right now it IS important to bring them up!
I've noticed that four children of Gwyn seem to have a 'descent' that applies to the stages of the day, minus the "morning" child that would logically follow after the lastborn Gwyndolin! I concluded Gwyn himself works as the morning person of this family, seeing how his sunlight is also distinctly orange, and orange sunlight applies to both rising sun and setting sun! Besides, a morning child appearing after Gwyndolin would mean the start of the new "day", and we all know Gwyn holds onto preserving the current era at all cost. Thematically, I think it would fit for him to never give up the position of "morning", though it is sadly funny how he can't escape the ride of time even within the comfort of having a family hahah
Gwynevere not only has very orange miracles, but also her illsion creates an unmistakable sunset look over Anor Londo! If slight grey in her color scheme indicates the night approaching, it makes it super likely that both 1) Gwyn might just have grey hair regardless of age since sun rises after the night just ended and 2) Nameless King doesn't have any grey in his color scheme and his current white hair is not his natural hair color!
The choices I am seeing for his hair, and possibly eyes, are either golden or red!
Nameless King might have had red hair, like suggested by the way Solaire depicts the same sun as what is associated with his warriors and decorations Ornstein and Dragonslayer have!
On the other hand, strong argument in favor of golden hair is that literally nowhere in the family we ever have even a hunch of red-haired gene! It is always grey, black, brown or blond. His lion kin also only have either brown fur and manes or golden ones, when you'd think changing body upon worshipping an explicitly "red-maned lion" should've manifested somehow! The 'red mane' imagery might've been strictly symbolic, to reflect his authority rather than literal look!
I suppose I favor golden hair (and eyes?) version more, especially since he is more proto-Godwyn than proto-Radahn! He could also combine both here and there! For example, his eyes could be golden but turn redder closer to the edges. Or maybe he had red coloration initially, as Gwyn's firstborn, when he was still fighting with him against Dragons, and changing into sunny yellow/golden was the result of Gwyn starting new era? Elden Ring also has a lore point about things now yellow having before been red in their primal form. I guess I go back and forth with him, but at this rate I am certain about his warm coloration at least!
Gwynevere and her mother Fina / Nehma
Thankfully, Gwynevere HAS decent references, and could even shed a light (ba dum tss) on some more genetics!
Her eyes look rather orange, just like the sunlight associated with her healing miracles (Bountiful Sunlight and Soothing Sunlight), yet there is a little grey circle at the pupil! x) Fun fact: she has distinct moles on her body ( x )! Though you can observe from her textures too:
As for Fina, I really think she is a SUPER likely candidate for her mother!
Notice how her symbol is Estus Flask, and Gwynevere is strongly associated with healing! As for why Nehma = Fina:
NAME-ENGRAVED RING
A special ring that can be engraved with the name of a god. Becomes easier to connect to worlds of players who chose the same god. There are countless vestiges of long-lost gods in the ruins of Drangleic. Or perhaps they are the very same gods as ours, only known by different names.
Another case right here is Pharis being named Evlana in Drangleic, as well as NK being known by the name Faraam! Similarly, Fina got another name, since she IS Goddess of Love!
EMBRACED ARMOR OF FAVOR
Armor of Lautrec the Embraced, representing the goddess Fina's love. The goddess's arms wrap around it, as if to embrace the wearer.
^ This line makes me wonder whether Fina was not a regular humanoid God, but had literally golden body! There is a nameless and faceless Blacksmith Deity in the setting whose death gave birth to Titanite Demons, so why not another atypical God like this? I can imagine her being mostly non-physical save for some... obvious places
ESTUS FLASK
The Undead treasure these dull green flasks. Fill with Estus at bonfire. Fills HP. The Estus Flasks are linked to the Fire Keepers. The Dark Tales also make reference: An emerald flask, from the Keeper's soul She lives to protect the flame, And dies to protect it further.
^ Lautrec kills Anastacia and takes her soul, and his next destination past that point is Anor Londo, but specifically the hall that leads to "Gwynevere's" chamber! He made Fina's love his whole guidance, Estus Flask is a symbol of Fina in Dark Souls 2 menu, Estus Flask is made of a Soul of a Fire Keeper, Gwynevere seems to be very much connected with love and healing too, and he goes to where "she" is! I would not put it past him that "Gwynevere" messed up his radar, he seems to act irrational in his delusion about being "loved by Fina", but you can see everything about this questline is thematically connected! ...there is also the fact that if Lautrec's armor is of any indication, Fina was wearing a crown! Gwyn was the king, so another one crowned would be his wife, right?
I think whereas Gwynevere didn't inherit Fina's (presumed) golden body and turned out a regular humanoid deity, the orange glint of her eyes might also be Fina's gene, a color of healing (the liquid in Estus Flask)! Gwyn's eye color might actually be grey and only show in her eyes vaguely! (This is a surprise tool that will help us later). Brown hair might belong to either Fina, or to Gwyn when he was way younger! Or.. to Gwyn's parent? Put a pin on this! All in all it is hard to say whether orange in Gwynevere refers to Fina/Nehma and her healing, or the setting sun place in the family. Though.. to think of it, Fromsoft often has melting pot of different references and hints! It can always be several things at once!
Rosaria, Anri and Horace
I think Rosaria's line is the furthest diluted from the divine ancestry, since having children with a human resulted in JUST humans, not sort of Demigods! Also, Irithyllian preset does say these humans have "features of old gods"!
(Video by Bonfire VN ( x ))
Unfortunately, Rosaria doesn't have eye texture! Grey skin looks cool, but oh well. I suppose it is more fair to take the look from the final version, which is just normal, if only slightly less saturated!
Her hair appears to be not black but actually just dark grey, like Filianore's, however, Anri, Horace and average Irithyllian appear to have black hair!
(From this ( x ) page, without Hollowing filter)
dggsdfsfd Yeah I know, most of Dark Souls 3 face data is just bald, and their hair color data is just black, but! I think it is kind of "legit" since you can see their eyebrows, that are black too! Sorry for a cursed joke about Artorias though, he does have black hair and I just thought it was a funny idea that he did sleep with Gwynevere at some point- look, Gods were wery proud of his accomplishments against the Abyss and even gave him that medal ok? fsjjfd xD
Why Anri's Hollowing is "regular" and Horace's is green-ish that was introduced in Drangleic is another topic tbh. But, I think that Anri takes more after Rosaria, whereas Horace takes more after Aldrich! Anri's grey eyes are from Rosaria, and I think Aldrich would have blue eyes like Horace's! look it is thematically appropriate right?
I am sure that they ARE the two children that managed to escape Aldrich, of course:
EXECUTIONER HELM (DS3)
(...) Horace is one of only two children to escape Aldrich's clutches.
Japanese specifies he is one of children of Aldrich specifically:
ホレイスはエルドリッチの子供たちの一人であり 唯二人の生き残りでもあった
ANRI'S DIALOGUE
(...) "Help me vanquish Aldrich, the man-eating fiend."
(...) "But my duty must be done, even alone. As an unkindled Lordseeker. For the children I knew, bless their souls."
(...) "Horace, we've done it, we really have..."
(...) "Oh, Horace, everyone, forgive me..."
(...) "Oh, Horace, why... Don't leave me, not you... Not like the others..."
Notice how Anri is close with Horace, they're taking revenge upon Aldrich together (and we know why Horace does it), and the way they talk about their past like they've lost many people (children?) but only Horace stayed. Anri also goes back to the Church of the Deep after their quest is over, and goes Hollow there. It makes much more sense if Anri is also personally involved into this quest! They are easily the mysterious second child who survived, under Occam's Razor it goes!
+Just in case, don't let "of Astora" fool you; Anri is LARPING as a knight of Astora because their legends gave them sense of nostalgia! You know that feeling when you are way too late for something and long for having been a part of it while it was still relevant? Or wanting to meet a person you've learned all about only long after they died?
ELITE KNIGHT SET (DS3)
[item] said to have been given to elite knights of fallen Astora. The mere mention of Astora invokes wistful pangs, and perhaps it was such a dream that drew Anri to this faraway home known only by name.
Also an idea: maybe Anri's gender thing should be taken at a face value? Although basically just a human at this rate, they are still a kid of a mother of rebirth, so maybe they legitimately can have either biological gender for the purpose of being able to have children with any person? Just an ability inherited from Rosaria, because this is what Rosaria's power is about! What do you think?
Flann and Dancer of the Boreal Valley
Flann was a God of Fire, and Dancer is stated to be a direct descendant in the royal line!
RING OF THE SUN PRINCESS (DS1)
This ring is granted to those who enter a Covenant with Gwynevere, daughter of Lord Gwyn and the Princess of Sunlight. This slightly warm ring boosts the synergy of miracles. The Princess of Sunlight Gwynevere left Anor Londo along many other deities, and later became wife to Flame God Flann.
SUN PRINCESS RING (DS3)
(...) Gwynevere left her home with a great many other deities, and became a wife and a mother, raising several heavenly children.
I think that the place the Gods of Anor Londo left to was Heide in Drangleic, and even there we arrive long past its ruin! Not certain where they are now and how many generations of these children appeared, but at least some direct children or even descendants returned into Lordran continent! Aldia, Creighton and Gilligan travelled from Drangleic to Lordran continent, so why not some of these relatives too? (Considering how oddly nobody in Drangleic knows shit about Lordran continent despite it being literally there oversees, I take it as it got concealed for undefined time, and maybe these descendants of Gwynevere, along with some other Gods, opened the path back to it?)
SOUL OF THE DANCER
Soul of the dancer. One of the twisted souls, steeped in strength. Use to acquire many souls, or transpose to extract its true strength. The Pontiff Sulyvahn bestowed a double-slashing sword upon a distant daughter of the formal royal family, ordering her to serve first as a dancer, and then as an outrider knight, the equivalent to exile.
(In Japanese, 旧王家の末裔 - 'descendant of the Old Royal Family')
DANCER'S CROWN
Crown worn by the Dancer of the Boreal Valley. The mirage-like aurora veil is said to be an article of the old gods, permitted only for direct descendants of the old royal family.
Dancer can conjure fire in her hands, which the Pontiff and Fire Witches who use the Profaned Flame can't do, which might imply hers is all natural, and does this smoke-like thing when using her dark magic sword (which is, again, unlike the Pontiff's actual arsenal with HIS dark magic sword). Considering Flann is God of Flame, her capacity for using fire and ash "naturally" convinced me that she descends from Gwynevere and him!
Unfortunately, nothing to latch onto considering her or Flann's appearance, really.. But I'd suggest that if she takes his abilities more than Gwynevere's, whatever you imagine Flann looking like, she'd look more like him as well!
Queen of Lothric, Lothric, Lorian, Oceiros and Ocelotte
Well, first things first: I do not think Queen of Lothric IS Gwynevere! There are no damning evidences for this!
For one, Gwynevere's name is not forgotten or obscured by the events of Dark Souls 3, it is mentioned in descriptions and by Yorshka, so why would it be omitted under just 'Queen of Lothric'! Second, Gwynevere is still referred to as a princess consistently, she never queened-up! The only exception from this is illusion of Gwynevere calling herself a queen, and... well, it was needed, to support the legend. :p Third, Rosaria is also linked to items associated with Gwynevere, same as Queen of Lothric, so this is just descent, really!
But what truly cemented my opinion is that in Japanese script, Queen of Lothric is said to be compared with 'the' Goddess of Bounty and Grace! (Taken from this ( x ) document by Last Protagonist, it is for Bloodborne but it has a Dark Souls WIP folder). Why would Gwynevere be compared with herself? :p
(Upper image of the ribbon in statue by Lokey's Lore ( x )) The ribbons seem to miss in the concept art, but I feel like they got added to further hint at descent rather than to... well, add a plot hole...? x) Miyazaki initially wanted Gwynevere to have motherly vibe and the design we have now only exists because the guy who drew that concept liked it too much, so maybe his initial idea for her got a second chance in another character?
Like I said, the grey in the eyes WAS important, because, look! The brothers' eyes ARE grey! :p Their hair is actually very grey as well; with a very slight hint of blond for Lothric and slight hint of brown for Lorian, but you can tell game's lighting makes their hair look way more saturated than they actually are! Lothric's eyes are also blind of course, you can more clearly see from the texture that the pupil is ruined..
Notice that Oceiros is also lacking scales, but is growing fungi-like things that are otherwise found in Vagrants!
UPDATE 02/01/2025: Ocelotte's model is a cut content, but apparently the model does persist in finished game still, even if we cannot see it!
(From this ( x ) video)
In Dark Souls 2, essence of Seath lives on same as Gwyn's, Izalith's and Nito's but in a form of nearly an "element", and corrupts the Duke of Tseldora into madness, driving him to indulge in mad experiments and create weird beings! It is possible that this happens again in Dark Souls 3 when now the vessel of "Seath" becomes Oceiros instead and similar descent into madness repeats! Very ironically, Seath DID reach immortality if you think of it, but he no longer realises that he did fhdfhds As for Vagrants, I wonder whether it was intentional too, since Seath did experiment with marine life forms quite a lot (Pisacas, Giant Clams)...?
I think the grey eyes and hair is linked to Queen of Lothric; the orange hues must have weakened over generations, and it is not the last of grey hair you'll see x) Really have no idea what Oceiros would've passed onto them, though...? I imagine brown-ish hair from the side of Queen of Lothric reflecting Gwynevere's brown hair (passed in an even greyer form to Lorian), and blond hair from the side of Oceiros (passed in an even greyer form to Lothric)!
Gundyr, Gertrude and their parents
GUNDYR'S HELM
Ancient helm of a set of cast iron armor, belonging to Champion Gundyr. Modeled after a former king. Gundyr, or the Belated Champion, was bested by an unknown warrior. He then became sheath to a coiled sword in the hopes that someday, the first flame would be linked once more.
古い王 - king from long ago, king from the past, etc
Gundyr doesn't appear to be one of Oceiros' children, but I've been thinking about it for a while.. I figured out what made the most sense for his story is being a collateral relative to the twin princes, considering he was sent out to replace Lothric (well, this is what he was told..) It will be a tangent to explain, so here ( x ) are my conclusions on what exactly happened with Gundyr!
Granted, I might end up making him more of a distant relation than her direct son from previous marriage- it'd be even better, to be honest! But, this is a base draft of the family tree. His helmet resembles his ancestor, that, again, would work better as someone several generations apart from him!
UPD 12/30/2024: I did decide it made more sence if "ancient king" was... well, ancient fdgfdsd And appeared to be ancestry of Oceiros instead, with Gundyr being collaterally related to Oceiros! I am not strong with familial terms so I am not sure what this relation is called now if I move him further than being half-brothers with the twins and Ocelotte :o Just thought it worked better!
BOUNTIFUL LIGHT
Miracle taught to knights of Gertrude, holy maiden to the Queen. Gradually restores a large amount of HP. The Heavenly Daughter is said to be the Queen's child.
DIVINE PILLARS OF LIGHT
Miracle of Gertrude, the Heavenly Daughter. Brings down multiple pillars of light in the vicinity. The Queen's holy maiden Gertrude was visited by an angel, who revealed this tale to her.(...)
The fact that her own daughter is simultaneously described as her servant of sorts gave me an impression of being the bastard child! I guess one thing Gwynevere certainly passes down to her descendants is sleeping around, except this is ACTUALLY Fina's fault hdhfshfgsdh
Seath, Gwyndolin, Filianore and Priscilla. How Caitha could fit into a family?
I think this is apparent that Gwyndolin is a child between Gwyn and Seath, as serpents in this lore are "imperfect dragons", and Seath himself is inherently connected to Moonlight element (Moonlight Butterflies he created, Moonlight Greatword being literally made from a part of his body)!
COVETOUS GOLD SERPENT RING
The serpent is an imperfect dragon and symbol of the Undead. Its habit of devouring prey even larger than itself has led to an association with gluttony. This gold ring, engraved with the serpent, boosts its wearer's item discovery, so that more items can be amassed.
MOONLIGHT GREATSWORD
This sword, one of the rare dragon weapons, came from the tail of Seath the Scaleless, the pale white dragon who betrayed his own. Seath is the grandfather of sorcery, and this sword is imbued with his magic, which shall be unleashed as a wave of moonlight.
And, yes, needless to mention that Gwyndolin is a sorcerer. Sorcery is THE Seath's thing!
I would actually take Aldrich's render with a grain of salt; right, we don't know what Gwyndolin's eyes were like in Dark Souls 1, but also Gwyndolin has white/greyish skin, when Aldrich using this body has a pretty much human skin tone! The hair on Aldrich also appears to be way more white (a trait of being corrupted by Dark, check Four Kings or Abyss Watchers), not grey like Gwyndolin's 🤔 I guess his look is more of an approximation than literally just using Gwyndolin's body! Though, pale eye color can still be used as a headcanon! Just maybe less dead looking..?
UPDATE 02/01/2025: I've been thinking about inconsistency of Gwyndolin's design a bit more, and here ( x ) is a separate post compiling those! (don't worry it IS actually short!) The gist of it is that white skin and even the snakes might even be a result of prolonged exposure to estrogen Moonlight Aura, so his parenting is up to more intepretation than I initially assumed! My interpretation lingers on the idea that relation between Gwyndolin, Priscilla and Yorshka is a biological one, not spiritual or adopted! Yet even then, who can tell if white skin (and snakes, and boobies) is NOT a trait that will just "wear out" without contstant nourishment by Moonlight aura? Aldrich's version of Gwyndolin's body honestly opens more questions than it answers, but I say remarkably grey hair of Gwyndolin IS his natural hair color and Aldrich's body's white hair is an alteration! I am bouncing off of these pointers.
Filianore also has this grey hair with a very slight hint of brown! Her eyes also appear to be corrupted by sort of wooden texture, and after time runs wild, she honestly reminds me of what Elana looks like...? Turning into wood is a common sign of devolution in this setting as everything that isn't a Dragon evolved from the trees! But... furthermore, devolution into wood is connected with darkness.
It is Humanity when it is not running wild! Four Kings becoming very tree-like is the quickest example! The void-face type of Giants also turn into trees upon devolving and, interestingly enough, their particular souls have a spot of darkness within! Further clue towards Filianore having some Dark in her by nature is the very fact that she was sent away with Pygmy lords! Would not a God that actually has some Dark/Humanity in them be THE best candidate to keep them in check.... and the one most likely to remain safe there in Gwyn's eyes, you know?
Priscilla has a little scales and eyes, unlike Seath, despite being most likely his child! Seath being white-colored is accentuated, and so is her being "stark-white" crossbreed!
SOUL OF PRISCILLA
(...) Use the soul of this crossbreed bastard child and antithesis to all life to acquire a huge amount of souls, or to create a unique weapon.
LIFEHUNT SCYTHE
Scythe born from the soul of Priscilla, the stark white crossbreed trapped inside the Painted World of Ariamis. Even the Gods feared Priscilla's lifehunt ability, and in the hands of a mortal, its power will turn upon its wielder.
I think Priscilla and Yorshka have to have a shared second parent, since you can get a miracle version of Priscilla's Lifehunt Scythe when Aldrich dreams of Yorshka! At the same time, Gwyndolin is the lastborn of Gwyn yet Yorshka is their younger sister, nor Priscilla or Yorshka are recognised as Gods by the narrative! Basically.. Gwyn got cucked dfggffd I keep telling you all and you don't believe me!!
Okay, but what connects Priscilla to Darkness is definitely not from Seath's ancestry, as Dragons are beyond Light or Dark! I absolutely agree with the idea that Priscilla and Velka were connected; Velka's crow people and some clerics are in the Painted World of Ariamis, Occult Ember is here, Priscilla's Dagger has Occult affinity, in Dark Souls 3 the Crows worship Priscilla, there is a statue of mother holding a child... But, I think Velka rather adopted her than was her biological mother! Another thing is that Velka is a "heretical" deity, implying she made Darkness her own weapon rather than was naturally aligned with it or corrupted by it to the core! What Priscilla inherited though, had to be inherited directly, biologically, naturally and not learned, since her "ability" manifested since infancy:
PECULIAR DOLL
A strange doll in strange dress. There once was an abomination who had no place in this world. She clutched this doll tightly, and eventually was drawn into a cold and lonely painted world.
The Daughters of the Dark in Dark Souls 2 are fragments of Manus' own darkness, and their elements naturally oppose everything about Gods and their world! Nashandra's element is Death and Alsanna's element is Ice/Cold, both opposing Life and Fire respectively! Elana is the devolution into a tree life form, whereas Nadalia is ash - both oppose the concept of time as Age of Fire created it! Elana by devolution, Nadalia by exhaustion as ash is final result of burning, when nothing IS left to burn! And in every game, death more blatantly goes hand in hand with the darkness, too.
Priscilla embodies two of these: Ice and Death! She is even connected with invisibility, too! At the same time, since Gwyndolin's hair is AKTYALY grey, Yorshka's hair is brown and Shira's hair is brown also and was white only in the concept, her white hair might also be result of the Dark settling within, not same as her white fur!
As for who IS that mysterious parent that passed the 'Darkness gene' to Filianore, Priscilla and Yorshka...? Okay, here I will slide a theory about how Caitha of all people fits the role well ( x ) compiled very well by @val-of-the-north, if you want to read! It is too hard to just put all that here and deserves a separate post, as there are many clues towards this theory but.. let's say this takes more than five minutes to explain. It is her connection with Death that is here for Priscilla and Yorshka (since in DS3, Priscilla is not really "young" nor "in hiding"), Aldrich literally using exact copy of Nito's Blade, Church of the Deep formerly being Caitha's chapel and taken from her, Caitha being connected with the Dark without a doubt, Filianore's egg being too much like Vagrant's shell to be ignored, Nito's wife being hinted as water goddess, Vagrants being marine creatures, Seath himself being interested in researching weird marine creatures (that might even work as reason to work with Caitha a lot even before his insanity arc), Caitha's tears crystallizing when it is otherwise an effect of draconic curses (wear protection when you fuck a dragon, kids fsfds)....
Look it's a lot and. It fits into a separate post better. I really liked it and honestly think it fits within lore! Besides, Gwyn sure likes to flirt with the danger, as scared as he is. 🙄 He was enemy of the dragons but let Seath close and kept Midir alive, he feared humans but still trusted Four Kings... would not put it past him to look at someone aligned with the Darkness and go "I should not put my dick in it, however," fhsdhff
Shira and Yorshka and... Zandroe?
(Shira's face data from this ( x ) page)
(Shira's set render from this ( x ) page by Tokami Fuko)
Her hair is dark blond, in the final version? Her eyes are also green though, even if not as radiant in color as Priscilla's! Her name literally means 'white', and she is, like I said earlier, is "'daughter of the Duke and descendant of the Gods"! You can also see the original intention for her was white hair! or..... is it grey hair? AGAIN? x)
SHIRA'S CROWN
Crown of Shira, knight in service to Filianore. Finely crafted with silver and fashioned with a pearl from a Man Eater Shell. (...)
SHIRA'S ARMOR
(...) With a spun gold shawl draped over the silver breastplate and a green woven skirt, this armor offers a subdued yet refined elegance, apropos to both a handmaiden of the Princess and one whose veins coarse with royal blood.
I am not sure why she turned out to be so humanoid, not showing draconian features whatsoever! Perhaps how many features manifest is a random chance, and her mom's genes just turned out to be much stronger than Seath's, especially if she was one of the Gods on Gwyn's family! Or maybe whereas Gwyndolin was raised through Moon aura, Shira, on the other hand, had exposure to Sunlight aura? Whereas former possibly enhanches dragonic features, latter would suppress them by an effect? Alternatively, Seath's genes just fade away without constant nourishment, like I said it is possible with Gwyndolin!
This all also makes me wonder if Seath's "intended" eye color is green, and that would be the color if he had eyes?
Now, Zandroe is a very interesting case, and there are quite a few coincidences that make him fit the same check-marks as Shira herself! But first things first; I must clarify that 'Zinder and Zandroe' is a localisation blunder, and a pretty severe one! They straight up invented a whole new guy, when in Japanese original it is ONLY Zandroe (欲の神ザンドロ) (or ONLY Zinder, whatever name you like more)
I explained a bit more about Gods mentioned in Dark Souls 2 and their Japanese names in this ( x ) post! And in the same post, I've clarified that Caffrey is in particular Goddess of Wealth (財産 の 神 ネフ ェ エ), not really so much of a good luck!
In Dark Souls 1, the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring is found is Sen's Fortress, and Covetous Silver Serpent Ring is found in Tomb of the Giants! You can already see the parallels with how we discover items and 'Statue of Goddess' associated with NK/Gwynevere vs Gwyndolin. But there is something else:
COVETOUS GOLD/SILVER SERPENT RING:
The serpent is an imperfect dragon and symbol of the Undead. Its habit of devouring prey even larger than itself has led to an association with gluttony.(...)
Notice how just like Shira, Zandroe also is associated with union of gold and silver, whereas also being connected with the dragons! Not to say that he was necesarily serpentine rather than dragonic; the rings that refer to him might be symbolic! Though he as well might have snakes as a part of his body like it happened with Gwyndolin - a "gene" that manifests only if nourished with enough of Seath's aura! I do imagine he looks a bit more monstrous than his sister Shira, at least.
At the same time, he is associated with greed, when Caffrey is associated with wealth! It all could explain how her, Zandroe, Caffrey and Seath can be connected! Seath is the 'silver' side, and Caffrey is the 'golden' side!
(Images by Moonlight Ruin on Twitter ( x ))
I think Yorshka has her mother's eyes, as they do not have draconian narrow pupil! (Well, if it was Caitha, she very likely has blue eye and red eye, and this is just the blue!)
Seath is not only white, but also cyan/blue/purple/pink, and Yorshka displays these features! As well as taking after the mysterious parent with the 'Dark genetics', specifically with the ability manifesting as Death / Lifehunt shared with Priscilla:
LIFEHUNT SCYTHE (DS3)
Miracle of Aldrich, Devourer of Gods. Steals HP of foes using an illusory scythe. Aldrich dreamt as he slowly devoured the God of the Darkmoon. In this dream, he perceived the form of a young, pale girl in hiding.
All things considered, I feel like brown and dark blond hair gene comes from somewhere in Gwyn's family! However, the grey hair gene apparently suppresses it on every occasion! There is also a possibility that both Yorshka and Shira were born with white hair and either 1) this gene is weak and wears out on itself over time 2) this gene is connected with Seath's moonlight energy and wears out without nourishment or 3) white hair reacts on moonlight in general and is now darker color because moon is darker!
Dunnel and Painter
I just think Dunnel is a likely candidate for whoever was father of the Painter:
PYROMANCER'S PARTING FLAME
The pyromancy flame of Livid Pyromancer Dunnel that attracts the echoes of the death. When Dunnel lost his hideous spouse, he gave his own pyromancy flame as an offering, which transformed into a parting flame. Not long after, Dunnel became a mad spirit, cursed to wander the lands.
Priscilla is referred to as an abomination within the lore, and hideous spouse is not quite far off! It clearly refers to the context of what life itself fears rather than... well, like, her actual appearance. And Priscilla is connected with Death, whereas combining his flame with her changed it into something connected with Death as well! He also invades in a place that looks a lot like her arena in Dark Souls 1!
Bro just looks like old Patches -_-
(Video by BonfireVN ( x ))
Her skin is definitely more grey and dragon-ish, but I am not sure to which family member I could link orange eye color to :') Just the fact that she is meant to envision the Flame, I guess?
_________________________
Okay, thank you for giving me a reason to organise all this! I thought I'd just dump some references together, but it turned out to be sort of an analysis, and I figured some useful things for myself too! So, my conclusions are:
Grey hair gene is very real in the family but will depend on how far they stray from "daylight"! Gwyndolin's hair is also grey, and Aldrich's version having white hair is reasonable since Darkness corruption seems to cause white hair!
Brown hair gene most likely appears from Gwyn's mother, or other relative of his
Descendants of Gwynevere tend to have grey hair and grey eyes, seems like the brightness of sunlight have worn out over time genetically in this family. Since Gwynevere is the setting sun and thus already shown hints of grey herself, her children were destined to lean even further into the 'night' because of how daytimes work! Unless, of course, Flann's heritage gets more dominant x)
Dancer is the only known 'apparent' descendant of Gwynevere and Flann, others appear to be either much more diluted or not having ties to Flann at all
There is a 'Darkness gene' running in the family in Filianore, Priscilla and Yorshka that manifests in different forms like it was with Daughters of Dark (ice and death with Priscilla, death with Yorshka, defiance of time with trees/ash with Filianore). At the same time, with Caitha, a gene connected with the waters manifests from time to time when Filianore's Egg resembles the shell of Vagrants and Yorshka has "tentacles" similar to a marine creature on her long neck! also her tears crystallise because Seath gave her weird dragonic STD lmao
Mixing with a dragon genetically has very random results, from apparent to absolutely indiscernable
Someone GOT to inherit Gwyn's super square jaw shape at some point XD
Seath's "intended" eye color is most likely green, so it is one of the variants for what Gwyndolin's eye color might be!
Oceiros probably was blond
While Gwyndolin was hard-pressed on the 'moon' side of his genetics despite also being a child of Moon and Sun, with Shira the sun part is almost all there is, and with Zandroe it seems to be evenly presented
Pattern with which hair colors of Gwyn's children change suggest that Nameless King's real hair color was not white, he's just been through some shit!

“Every living being is an engine geared to the wheel-work of the universe.” — Nikola Tesla
Rota Fortunae The Wheel The primordial power of the universe moves in circles. A vast wheel describes the wholeness of Life from its motionless center to its whirling rim. This creative power is in the center and radiates outwards like the rays of the sun. The wheel is Life, it is Law, it is Time. It is the foundation of all worlds and the eternal expression of compassion. Wheels revolve within wheels, time within time and worlds within worlds. Every molecule in the universe is a wheel of life involved in larger cycles of change. The motion of a patient Hindu peasant walking upon a water wheel involves every level of rotary force. The wheel which moves the water from one channel to another is but the most obvious form of this force. The physical energy of his body is sustained by cyclic motion at every level, while the water disturbed by the action of the wheel moves in circular waves. The whole life of this man is a wheel marking the stages between birth and death; his daily thoughts may rest upon the motionless source of all life even while his feet tirelessly turn the water wheel.
If man has come to focus upon the physical rather than the symbolical and philosophical wheel, this indicates the degree to which consciousness has descended into matter. We have moved progressively along the broad sweep of the rim of consciousness in this great cycle of evolution. We have lost the wisdom of the Cheyenne Medicine Man who spoke of men as 'Living Medicine Wheels.'
The wheel symbolizes the interconnected concepts of manifestation, duration and change as well as the dynamic equilibrium of the contrary forces of contraction and expansion. The Secret Doctrine tells us that "wheels are the centres of force around which primordial cosmic matter expands, and passing through all the six stages of consolidation, becomes spheroidal and ends by being transformed into globes or spheres." The zodiac symbolizes the process whereby fecundated primordial energy passes from potential into active energy and then returns to its source. The involution and evolution of life takes place in a great wheel. The apparent orbit of the sun through the twelve divisions of the zodiac corresponds to twelve degrees or stages in the action of the active principle upon the passive. A similar dynamic process is symbolized by the wheel of Tao where the yang and the yin, the positive and negative patterns, appear to be moving into one another, while in fact at any moment in time each occupies half of the sphere in a process of dynamic balance.
Perhaps the most profound conception of the wheel focuses upon the still center or hub, without which there would be no dynamic process, no apparent motion, no manifest balance in nature and in man. The hub of the wheel is still while all revolves around it and radiates from it. The Buddhist Wheel of Life is depicted with detailed forms along its spokes and rim, whereas the hub is undecorated and represents the formless center of life. Ancient scriptures speak of the Great Wheel which is parentless {Anupadaka) and without form, from which emanates the New Wheel for the pilgrimage of Life. The Secret Doctrine intimates how Fohat forms the germs of lesser wheels which extend in six directions from the one central wheel in which the Lipika reside, while the Sons of Light stand at each angle. This is the First Divine World, a great wheel made up of seven wheels. Then Fohat, as primordial Light in circular motion, forms a winged wheel at the four corners of the Second Divine World. Upon the Seven Laya Centers which are the imperishable foundations of the universe, Fohat builds seven wheels in the likeness of older wheels. In this manner the solar wheels evolve, each planet a lesser wheel within the larger whole.
The imagery of an old hymn describes the wheels seen by Ezekiel in the fiery whirlwind – "The Big Wheel run by power and the Little Wheel run by the grace of God . . ." From the awakening of Kosmos, primordial matter tends inevitably toward circular movement, "Deity becomes a Whirlwind." The Great Wheels are Maha Kalpas. The revolutions of our chain of seven planets are Rounds. Atoms filling space continuously vibrate with that motion which keeps the wheels of life perpetually turning. The inner synthesizing principle correlates all forces. At the center stands the Silent Deity, the conscious guiding noumenon. In the language of the Bhagavad Gita, "Ishwara resides in every mortal being and puts in motion, by its supernatural power, all things which mount on the wheel of time."
The voice in the fiery whirlwind and Ezekiel's wheels are the manifested foundations of Law. The fiery wheel revolves while the pramantha or spoke takes fire by friction, conducting it to the rim. This was implicit in the myth of Prometheus. This is also the basis for the idea of grace or compassion expressed by the spokes of Being radiating from the hub of the wheel. If Compassion is the Law of Laws, then its structure delineates the wheels upon which Karma is enacted. The wheel is Law, but it does not roll in any linear sense. It turns upon the ocean of chaos, transforming it and compelling a new succession of forms.
It is said that Buddha gave a turn to the Wheel of The Law by bringing the Light of Illumination from the Still Flame at the center of the wheel into his earthly, temporal vestures. He conducted the fire out onto the rim of the wheel and increased the rotary movement of terrestrial life. The Law quickens by the presence of such a One. Karma is stirred and mankind feels the heat of the Central Flame. So it was that Krishna appeared at the beginning of Kali Yuga, heralding an age of increasingly rapid change, giving a crucial turn to the wheel.
Chinese tradition divides the wheel, recognizing eight basic dynamic movements in the cosmos, interrelated by two principles. The Cosmic transformations are reflected in the world by combinations based upon these patterns, each relating to the fundamental duality of the yin and the yang, the interplay between the pairs of opposites. The spokes of the wheel emphasize divisions of a whole wherein duality balances.
In Hinduism, the spokes of the wheel come alive, becoming transmitters of Light, witnesses of the Eternal Center and compassionate supporters of the rim. Siva stands in the center of the universe, surrounded by fire. Poised and motionless, he yet engages in the eternal dance of motion. Siva, the Initiator of all Initiates, destroys the dying forms clutching at the rim of life. The divine process of progressive enlightenment discussed in Hindu metaphysics follows a spiralling motion, just as a point moving toward the center of a rotating wheel describes a spiralling path. The spoked wheel provides the channels whereby the periphery can come to know the source of the whole. The structure of the Law enables the centrifugal and centripetal forces to interbalance ceaselessly, whirling around a fixed point of Truth and Balance. Again, in the zodiac, the cardinal points initiate, while the fixed points contain and sustain, but the mutable points are fluidic and enable constant reassertion of a new dynamic balance.
The Cheyenne Elders taught that the universe is a great Medicine Wheel. It is the "mirror of the People and each person is a mirror to every other person." The Medicine Wheel is the Living Flame of the Lodges and all things are contained within it. Every person is a Living Medicine Wheel and was originally a Power existing somewhere in time and space but having no form. Each Power possessed boundless energy and beauty. These Living Wheels needed only the understanding of limitation, the experience of substance, the learning of the heart to become whole. Heamavihio, The Breath of Wisdom, and Miaheyyun, Total Understanding, are but two of the words in the Cheyenne language which express this wholeness. For man to become whole, he must learn the Whole Wheel.
By understanding the Whole, one becomes the Whole and transcends it, for the true center of the wheel is a metaphysical point which is not on the wheel itself. The ideal is set forth by Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita, where he says: "I established this whole Universe with a single portion of myself, and yet remain separate." The disciple moves along wheels within wheels, striving to approach the position of the sage "who has attained the central point of the wheel and remains bound to the 'unvarying mean' in indissoluble union with the Origin, partaking of its immutability and imitating its non-acting activity."

Thinking about the circular nature of events in Wheel of Time. Thinking about Manethran and how early on in the series Mat was so deeply linked to Manethran and even once RJ moved away from that he still had Mat lead the new Band of The Red Hand. Thinking about the fall of Manethran. Thinking about King Aemon and his beloved wife Eldrene, the Rose of The Sun. Thinking about how the Queen’s of Manethran were generally channelers- were trained as Aes Sedai even- and would traditionally bond the king- Their husband, as their warder. Thinking about Mat and his connections to both Elayne and Tuon. Thinking about the two pathways of the pattern that could’ve been woven for him. Seanchen and Manethran, great nations who collapsed but even in the rubble they survive. Thinking about how Mat could’ve stayed in Andor, Manethran’s successor with Elayne, the rose of the sun, to serve as her captain of the guard with the Band of The Red Hand; but instead he went back to Tuon, the daughter of the nine moons, to Seanchen and it’s history that he is not part of, that even in the memories that are not his own he fights Artur Hawkwing, and now he serves as the general of his descendants nation. Thinking about duality and balance in wheel of time. Just having a lot of thoughts about Mat and Manethran as usual

Leo's posted a TikToc! The description is simply "did that himbo even notice???"
Leo is walking down a dorm hallway in Vagastrom. He's kindly angled the camera so he wouldn't be recording the name plates on everyone's doors as he walked past.
"So I know it's still kinda warm in mainland Tokyo, but it's starting to get cool here in Darkwick." Of course he couldn't explain the anomalous nature of the island, so he began a (surprisingly, if someone was new to Leo's channel or didn't know how smart Leo was) scientific explanation about the nature of weather patterns and how temperatures are impacted by being close to water. . . . "Anyway, totally off track. What I'm getting at is: it's almost sweater season!!!
"So if you've been following me since, like, at least last year, you know I steal Sho's sweaters. I have been stealing Sho's sweaters since we were fourteen years old. But this year," Leo rounds the corner and begins descending the stairs into the garage, "I have a new target. . . ."
The shot changes frontwards and Leo is walking towards the back of the Vagastrom garage. Fortunately none of the cars in view are so anomalous that the censor prevents him from showing them.
"So I mentioned I'm in Vagastrom house and I mentioned my captain and how he doesn't like being on camera and gets mad if I record him--oh! There he is~!" Leo whispers only loud enough for the camera to hear. He turns the camera to one of the lifted cars where Alan's large body is beneath it, working on some problem. The angle prevents one from easily seeing his face but anyone familiar with him might recognize him. Leo zooms in on Alan and pokes his fingers into the camera view and pretends to rub his belly, then squeeze him between his digits. "So he's a big dude. Like, bigger than Sho, legit the biggest guy in Darkwick. He's like. Over 2 meters. And muscular too."
The camera shot changes to be facing Leo as he walks down a hall somewhere in the back of the garage.
"So I'm hoping. . . ." He stopped walking and reached out with excited, parted lips. The sound of a door knob turning reached the camera and he smiled in dull amusement, mumbling as he walks in. "He seriously doesn't even lock his door. . .? So I'm hoping he's got some good, big sweaters or hoodies or something for when it starts getting cold. I could buy my own but it's always better when it's someone else's. Trust."
The door closes quietly behind Leo and he looks around the room, walking around. "Wheeere. . .?" He mumbles, turning his head back and forth as he walks the room in search of Alan's closet. When he's finally found it, he lets out a bright little 'oh! Got it!' and opens it to search.
"Guys, there is not a lot in here." He grins, leaning forward. "Buuuut. . . ."
The screen pops to another room--based on the tile and towels, a bathroom--with Leo standing far enough away from the shot that most of his body is in frame. He holds up his bent arms, a severely oversized grey sweater dwarfing his slim frame. It droops over his hands, completely covering them, and it runs down his body to about halfway down his thighs, and the neck opens a little deeply down his chest. He's positively beaming. "Look at this!! It's fucking huge!"
He waves his hands, flapping the sleeves a little, and approaches the phone with a smile still on his face. He reaches for the phone and it falls over with him whispering 'oops.' "I've got such fucking sweater paws in this thing I can't even hold my phone. . . ."
He manages to right it, then flaps and shakes and pulls the sleeves until his fingers poke out enough to use. He fixes his hair where it got slightly mussed from pulling the sweater on, using the phone camera as a mirror, then fixes the other sleeve. "Also this thing is so warm. Like, crazy warm, it's not even an autumn sweater this is a winter sweater. I'm k--" Leo turns his head and looks at something off-camera, picking up his phone. He whispers, still sounding pretty amused. "Oh, shit."
The shot cuts to Leo from slightly below, partially obscured by the sweater blocking the view. He's walking, smile catlike.
"What're you doing in here." Alan's gruff voice is heard, although he's not seen. Leo shrugs.
"I had to go to the bathroom. Yours was the closest I could be sure was clean."
". . .get out. Don't just come in here without permission."
"Okay~!" Leo beams, trotting past. "Try locking your door next time~!"
Leo walks into the hall and the door is shut behind him. He makes a befuddled face and holds his phone out so the camera can see that he's still wearing Alan's pilfered sweater. He holds his other hand out in a confused position, then gestures to the outfit, mouthing the words 'why didn't he say anything' before starting to grin, giggling quiet and airily. The video cuts out.
The comments cheered for Leo's cuteness and asked about the sweater. Leo comments that it's a very, very warm sweater and he probably won't even be able to wear it until winter. For autumn he'll probably have to get another one of Sho's as usual. A few comments expressed jealousy at Leo getting to wear a 'boyfriend sweater' and, of course, asked what exactly his relationship was with Alan that Alan didn't question him wearing his clothes at all.
Leo has since taken the sweater off and hidden it in his own closet for when it gets really cold around here. He could easily buy his own oversized clothes. . .but where was the fun in that?
#present: leo#life in darkwick: leo#leo kurosagi#alan mido#((could arguably be interprted as alan x leo but))#((mostly just sweater heist lmao))

What scratches my brain wrong the most, THE MOST, is the all-but-confirmation that Mythal was Andraste and Solas was the Maker. It’s giving “the Force is actually midochlorians”. It’s an explanation that immediately renders itself stupid and lame because the power was in the unknown ambiguity of “maybe, maybe not? Could just be fans being silly.” Stemming from that, most of the revelations of how much shit in Thedas is because of the ancient elves is also far too much for me to swallow in satisfaction because again, the explanation is not satisfying. It renders everything stupid, banal, unambiguous, and then doesn’t even allow you to properly engage with these revelations in any meaningful way because there’s no time, you gotta stop the Evanuris and Solas. Might as well not have revealed anything if that’s how you were gonna go about it. It’s all dropped on you with the brevity of an @everyone discord message in a locked channel with rescinded chat privileges.
But yeah, “Solas as the Maker” just doesn’t jive with me. I prefer the monotheistic god of my Christian adjacent fantasy faiths to in fact be mass hallucinated by people whose primitive brains attribute forces of nature, morality, and fortune as the works of an omnipotent omniscient deity when there is actually being no higher power that governs anything, we’re alone and the universe does not listen or answer. Solas being the Maker is like… ok, yet another thing that’s because of the ancient elves. Can’t attribute anything to human chauvinism forming a faith of their own monkey minds desiring idols and creation myths to worship, no sir.
It would’ve been far more satisfying to hold off on fulfilling every single damn theory fans have been crafting for the past 10 years. In this rare case I would’ve preferred if this had been an idea that they had in the wind-up but ultimately scrapped because people guessed right.
Why do I dislike it? I dislike it because it’s too neat. I dislike it because Solas doesn’t need yet another title or name attached to him. I dislike it because this piling on of “everything is because of the ancient elves” is so much explanation and leaves absolutely no room for wonder or theorycrafting because everything is now conveniently answered. I dislike it because the idea of an elf inspiring a human-majority faith that went on to persecute elves feels gross. I dislike it because, again, it removes independent cultural development from other races. I understand that ancient history goes on to make waves in cultures throughout subsequent millennia and centuries, but couldn’t they have let humans be dumb and dogmatic purely of their own accord and the similarities of Solas and Mythal, Maker and Andraste be thematic rather than indicative? Because that’s how myths actually function in real life. Again, you can argue certain myths exist in some form across many cultures that indicate perhaps a primordial or Ur culture that branched off, but that is because we’re humans. Elves and humans are different races, born and coming into existence in different ways, so you could easily just make it so that the similarities are just similarities, not actually directly descendent from the other.
Is there literally anything anyone has done that isn’t because of them, or is this the ‘easy way out’ answer that was clearly recycled from Mass Effect 3 with the Protheans? I see you, Bioware. Don’t think I can’t catch on to your increasingly predictable storytelling patterns.
This is me purelyyyyy bitching and my personal preference.

【About 赐服/Cì fú in Ming Dynasty】
<赐服/Cì fú> is a kind of clothing system. The imperial court rewarded meritorious men or woman with crowns and clothes to show their favor. Its system is complicated and diverse, there are “four-season clothes/四時衣", five-season clothes/五時衣” or Gesha/葛纱 and mink according to the seasons; there are Gongfu/公服 and flowers according to the seasons; etc. The clothes bestowed are usually higher than the rank of the recipient.
--------
Five-season clothes/五時衣:Attire of five different colors worn in five seasons in ancient times.
Four-season clothes/四時衣:Different Attire worn in four different seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter
Gesha/葛纱:Gauze woven from kudzu fiber.
Gongfu/公服:one of the official attire
----
Clothing is a daily need, but because it is the emperor's reward that endows the meaning of class, it has become a symbol of the imperial class and the emperor's favor. Use highly recognizable patterns on the clothing to show status and class, making clothing a channel for "showing off wealth". Anyone who can wears <赐服/Cì fú>is a courtier who is valued by the emperor.
The <赐服/Cì fú> of the Ming Dynasty are divided into four levels:Qilin robe(麒麟服),DouNiu robe(斗牛服), Feiyu robe(飛魚服), python robe(蟒服)
The Fourth-Class is Qilin robe(麒麟服):

The qilin (Chinese: 麒麟) is a legendary hooved chimerical creature that appears in Chinese mythology, and is said to appear with the imminent arrival or passing of a sage or illustrious ruler.Qilin are a specific type of the lin mythological family of one-horned beasts. The qilin also appears in the mythologies of other Chinese-influenced cultures.
Because the Qilin is a beast of benevolence and righteousness in the legend, the emperor of the Ming Dynasty regarded the Qilin robe as a gift and rewarded meritorious officials of the fourth and fifth ranks. Although Embroidered Uniform Guard(錦衣衛)on-duty guards are not high-ranking officials, they are also allowed to wear Qilin robe(麒麟服) because of their special positions.
The Third-Class is DouNiu robe(斗牛服):

DouNiu(斗牛) is not an ordinary bull(公牛), but a legendary horned dragon(虬龙). The DouNiu(斗牛) is like a dragon with sharp horns, a python-shaped fish tail, and two horns bent like ox horns. Those who can be awarded DouNiu robe(斗牛服) include officials of the third rank and above, generals who have made meritorious service in guarding the frontier, and people who have received special rewards. There are also examples of officials or celebrity families being rewarded with DouNiu robe(斗牛服), but these are exceptional and rare. DouNiu(斗牛) was originally a star in the sky, so the recipient thinks that he has received great glory.
The Second-Class is Feiyu robe(飛魚服):

The prototype of the Feiyu(飛魚/Flying fish) is the 文鳐鱼(a legendary fish with wings) in the "山海经/Classic of Mountains and Seas", which evolved into a python-shaped flying fish in the late Ming Dynasty. ↓文鳐鱼(a legendary fish with wings) in the"山海经/Classic of Mountains and Seas"

The image of the flying fish in the Ming Dynasty has two horns on the dragon's head and no wings on the fins, retaining the characteristic of the rolled tail.
Feiyu(飛魚/Flying fish) robe are generally rewarded to meritorious officials of the second rank or above,High-ranking eunuchs lead, and Embroidered Uniform Guard(錦衣衛). However, not all Embroidered Uniform Guard(錦衣衛) are eligible to wear flying fish robe, only the commanders of Embroidered Uniform Guard(錦衣衛), the emperor's personal school lieutenant and the guard of honor accompanying the emperor, these powerful confidantes of the emperor are eligible to wear them.
The Highest-Class is Python robe(蟒服):

The highest level of <赐服/Cì fú>in the Ming Dynasty was python robe(蟒服), second only to the dragon robe worn by the emperor. The python pattern is very similar to the dragon pattern, the only difference is that the dragon has five claws and the python has four claws. Python robe(蟒服) are generally only awarded to 司礼监's eunuchs, ministers of the cabinet(内阁辅政大臣), ministers and counselors of the Ministry of War(兵部尚书参赞), and princes and heads of foreign vassals. Adding a Python robe(蟒服) represents prosperity and wealth. A jade belt is required to wear the python robe(蟒服), and there are two types: sitting python(坐蟒) and moving python(行蟒). In terms of dignity, sitting pythons are higher rank than walking pythons.
※司礼监:is an eunuch in charge of the emperor's documents, seals, palace etiquette, etc.

This is an article about Africans and communicating with the dead
African communication with the deceased is often rooted in rich cultural and spiritual traditions that vary across the diverse continent. These practices are deeply ingrained in the belief systems of different African communities, reflecting a connection between the living and the spiritual realm. While it's crucial to recognize the diversity of African cultures, we can explore some common themes in the ways various communities communicate with the departed.
One prevalent aspect of African spirituality involves ancestor veneration. Many African societies believe that the spirits of ancestors continue to play a role in the lives of their descendants. Communication with ancestors is often seen as a means to seek guidance, protection, and blessings. Rituals and ceremonies, such as libations, prayers, or offerings, are performed to honor and connect with these ancestral spirits.
Divination is another practice found in various African cultures, serving as a channel for communicating with the spirit world. Diviners, who are often regarded as intermediaries between the living and the spiritual realm, employ various methods such as casting lots, reading patterns, or interpreting signs and symbols to gain insights from the ancestors. This process is not only a form of seeking guidance but also a way of maintaining a harmonious relationship with the spirit world.
In some African belief systems, the concept of death is not viewed as the end but as a transition to another existence. As a result, individuals may engage in ceremonies to celebrate the lives of the departed and maintain a connection with them. These celebrations can include dances, music, and feasts, creating a communal space where the living and the dead are believed to come together.

The use of mediums or spiritual leaders is prevalent in certain African societies for communicating with the deceased. These individuals are thought to possess a heightened spiritual sensitivity, enabling them to bridge the gap between the earthly and spiritual realms. Through trance, visions, or other altered states of consciousness, these mediums convey messages from the deceased to their living relatives.
It's essential to approach these practices with cultural sensitivity and respect, recognizing that interpretations and rituals may vary widely among African communities. The communication with the dead in Africa is deeply intertwined with cultural heritage, spirituality, and the understanding of life and death within each distinct society.
Another significant aspect of communication with the dead in various African cultures involves rituals associated with death and burial. Funerals are often elaborate ceremonies that not only serve as a farewell to the departed but also as a way to facilitate their transition to the afterlife. Practices during funerals can include reciting prayers, performing symbolic rites, and sometimes even engaging in dances to honor the deceased.

Dreams are considered powerful conduits for communication with the spirit world in many African societies. Dreams are believed to be a realm where the living can connect with the departed, receiving messages or guidance. Consequently, individuals may place great importance on dream interpretation, seeking insights into the wishes or concerns of those who have passed away.
Certain African communities practice the creation of memorial objects or ancestral altars. These tangible items, such as photographs, personal belongings, or symbolic artifacts, are believed to serve as a focal point for spiritual connection. Families may engage in ceremonies around these objects to maintain a spiritual link with their ancestors, fostering a sense of continuity and familial unity.
It's crucial to note that the diversity across Africa results in a wide array of beliefs and practices regarding communication with the dead. While some communities may place emphasis on rituals and ceremonies, others may have more private and personal approaches to maintaining a connection with the deceased.
In exploring African communication with the dead, it becomes evident that these practices are deeply intertwined with cultural identity, spirituality, and a profound respect for the continuity of life beyond the physical realm. They highlight the richness and diversity of African traditions, emphasizing the importance of understanding and appreciating the complexities within each unique cultural context.

Blue Galactic Eagle - Kin 252:
Expand your Being in Balance with the Beauty of the Universe.
Dear time traveler, today the energy of the Blue Galactic Eagle descends upon you like a whisper of the sacred wind, an invitation to raise your gaze and explore the vast landscape of existence with renewed eyes. This is a day of vision and expansion, a time to harmonize your spirit with the natural cycles, dancing with the beauty of the cosmos as the sages of the Earth have done since time immemorial.
The Eagle is the messenger of the sky, granting you the ability to see beyond the immediate, to discover hidden patterns in life and in your own path. In her galactic tone, she calls you to shape your reality with integrity and alignment, reminding you that true harmony is found in synchronicity with the natural flow of the universe.
Explore and Connect with the Environment
Today, the Eagle invites you to explore-not only the external world, but also the inner landscapes of your soul. Observe your surroundings with a gaze of wonder, allowing you to discover the magic in the everyday: the dance of the sun on the leaves, the murmur of flowing water, the perfect symmetry of a flower.
Your connection to nature is a reflection of your connection to yourself. If you feel disconnected, go outdoors, walk barefoot, feel the pulse of the Earth beneath your feet. In every step, in every breath, allow yourself to be part of the sacred balance that sustains all life.
Art and Beauty as Tools of Expansion
Art is a manifestation of the beauty of the spirit. Today is a perfect day to express yourself through creativity: paint, sing, write, write, dance... any art form that resonates in your being is a portal to expansion. When you create with your heart, you become a channel of universal energy.
It's not about perfection, it's about authentic expression. Allow your creativity to flow without judgment, without expectation. Beauty is in the sincerity of each stroke, each word, each note. Your soul expands when you allow yourself to create without fear.
The Balance between the Spiritual and the Earthly
The Blue Galactic Eagle reminds you that expansion does not mean escaping reality, but integrating it with awareness. True growth arises when you balance your elevated vision with a harmonious daily life. Ask yourself:
- Am I honoring my body as much as my spirit?
- Am I allowing beauty and harmony into my life?
- Am I making choices aligned with my higher purpose?
Today, let the Eagle's wisdom guide you to live with greater awareness, gratitude and balance. Elevate your vision, expand your being and honor the beauty that already dwells within you.
May this day inspire you to fly higher, to see with clarity and to walk in harmony with the sacred rhythm of existence.
In love and synchronicity, may the Eagle's flight lead you to discover the infinitude of your spirit. Text translated from: Etznab Buluc

Taken - Zutara - Part 24
First / Previous / Next / Masterpost
Zuko had been pissed when Zhao took his crew. But he knew that his crew was loyal, knew what really had to be done. They would work together and hinder the siege as much as possible.
He snuck along, of course. After Zhao had tried to kill him. Zuko wasn't even surprised, just mildly annoyed.
But when Uncle had told him about what information he had gathered, about his bad feeling, Zuko was ready to jump into action. With a tearful goodbye, a promise to keep himself safe and say hello to Katara for him, Zuko dove into the frozen waters of the North.
It was brutal. He felt like his skin was going to freeze and crack. but he pushed himself forward. He had to make it, had to warn Katara, had to protect the Avatar.
And then, for the first time in months, Zuko heard her voice.
"No. The fighting will be more at the wall. It would take a while for anyone to reach us here. I should be more than enough."
"You're wrong," he said, stepping around the corner. His heart was pounding, staring at ocean blue eyes. "Zhao is..." His throat felt tight. It had been months. He had to tell her about Zhao, but... If that really the first thing he wanted to say to her?
"How did you get here?" a white haired girl shouted, fear in her voice.
Zuko blinked. "The... The turtle seal channels? You should probably look at that."
"Zuko," Katara said, her voice tense. "What are you doing here?"
It was such a loaded question. She still thought he was trying to capture the Avatar. How could he explain everything in such a short time?
"Zhao has some kind of plan," Zuko said. "Something that could mean the end of the Water Tribes. He's going to be coming..." He blinks, looking around. A weight drops into his stomach. "Here... There's something here, that..."
His eyes land on the Avatar, glowing and facing the pond. Zuko inches forward, Katara tense as he peers into the pond. Koi fish, circling each other, with a yin-yang pattern. His throat burns with bile, remembering one of the stories Katara had told him, so many years ago.
"Tui and La," Zuko guesses, glancing at the white haired girl. She jumps. "This is them, isn't it? That's what Zhao must be after... He wants to kill one of the spirits. Or both."
Katara blinks, stepping up next to him to also peer into the pond. "But... Can he do that, Yue? They're spirits."
"These are physical forms..." The white haired, Yue, looks as pale as her hair. "If he killed the ocean spirit, I'm not sure what would happen, but... The moon spirit... All waterbending would vanish."
Zuko's mind raced. "The Fire Nation is an island nation. We need the ocean just as much as the Water Tribes do. So he'll go for the moon spirit." He swallowed. "Then the ocean spirit will... And the Fire Nation will..."
Silence descended around them. They all knew what would happen if Zhao killed the moon, and let the ocean live. Storms would rage, typhoons and hurricanes would ravage the Fire Nation. Innocent people - men, women, children - would take the punishment for Zhao's actions.
It was then that Sokka came barreling into the oasis.
"Yue! They-" The younger boy stopped. "Zuko!"
"We need to protect the oasis," Zuko said. "Zhao is coming here. If he succeeds, we'll all suffer the consequences."
Sokka eyed him for a moment, looking him over. Then, with a stern expression, he reaches out. Zuko blinks, reaching out to grasp Sokka's forearm, the Southern boy tugging him closer.
"You betray us?" Sokka hissed, low and deadly. "Betray Katara? I end you."
Zuko swallowed, but swung his other arm around, giving Sokka a hearty slap on the back, like he'd seen Bato and Hakoda do. "Never."

“Lipstick Stains”
Captain 3 x reader
The soft static emanating from the television filled the room as the Green Inkling aimlessly switched through dozens of channels. Their search was driven by the desire to find some form of entertainment, however fleeting it might be. The monotony was broken only by the occasional bursts of colour, the dazzling lights of the shows, and the ever-changing faces on the screen. Despite all this, nothing seemed to catch their interest.
With a loud sigh of frustration, they finally put on the Deep Cut Anarchy SplatCast. The sounds of the broadcast filled the room, a welcome change from the earlier static. But even this did little to lift their spirits.
Slowly, as though weighed down by an invisible force, they picked themselves up. The effort was palpable, a testament to the fatigue that was etched deep within their very being. They then proceeded to drag their Inkling self, which seemed almost lifeless, off of the couch. It was a quiet, unspoken admission of defeat – a sign that they were succumbing to the overwhelming exhaustion that they had been fighting to keep at bay.
They took a moment to survey the surroundings of the shared apartment they had recently purchased. The walls, the furniture, the miscellaneous items scattered around - everything seemed so familiar yet so distant in their current state of mind. It was a space they had both contributed to, a space that carried the essence of their shared experiences and memories. Yet now, it felt strangely empty, devoid of the warmth and comfort it usually provided.
Their gaze slowly fell onto the carpeted floor, the intricate patterns and textures offering a meager distraction. They allowed themselves to gently descend onto the carpet, the soft fabric acting as a cushion against the hard floor beneath. It was a welcome change, a slight reprieve from their usual upright posture. Their eyes aimlessly wandered around, finally coming to rest on the plain, unadorned wall.
This was the first time Three had gotten a day off in weeks. The thought brought a pang of loneliness, a feeling of being adrift in the vast ocean of time. You were out, probably engaged in some frivolous activity or another. The absence was palpable, a stark contrast to the usual hustle and bustle that filled their days.
Another loud sigh echoed throughout the room, the sound reverberating off the walls. The inkling then flipped onto its stomach, the shift in position offering a new perspective of the room. Its gaze was drawn to the door, the entryway that separated their sanctuary from the outside world. It was a silent reminder of the solitude they were currently engulfed in, a stark reminder of the void left by your absence.
A shadow gradually but assuredly crept up to the closed door. It lingered there for a moment, adding an air of mystery to the quiet room, before the door creaked open slowly. As the door swung inward, it revealed the long-awaited Inkling/Octoling. Three, a familiar and comforting presence, was already nestled in their arms.
A series of soft, light-hearted laughs escaped from deep within your chest as the Inkling nestled closer to you, its form snuggling warmly into the curve of your neck. Though you had been gone for merely an hour, the distance of time seemed to stretch out and distort from Three's point of view. To them, it felt like an eternity had passed, as if decades had rolled by in your absence.
A playful quip rolled off your tongue, the words sounding light and teasing in the quiet room, "I didn't know you were staying home, Stinky." The nickname hung in the air, a testament to the familiarity and deep bond between you two, a bond that could turn a simple sentence into a shared joke.
A raspy huff of amusement slipped from the lips of Three, the captain of the New Squidbeak, as they heard the familiar nickname. They had grown accustomed to Callie and Neo teasing them with the moniker "stinky", a playful jab at their notorious lack of impeccable hygiene - an occupational hazard, considering their relentless duties as a captain. But they would only ever retort with the same playful assertion, "I'm busy being a captain, you know!"
Their head then found a comfortable resting place on your shoulder, a soft sigh echoing through the room, laden with a contentment that can only come from the presence of a trusted companion. Their hand, a canvas of scars and bruises from numerous battles, reached out to tenderly encircle your hips. It was a gentle, yet firm hold, a silent testament to the strength that had been tempered through endless trials.
Then, a slow and rhythmic swaying motion began, a dance that was as much a comfort to them as it was to you. The shared movement created a soothing rhythm, a harmonious interplay of two bodies in sync, swaying back and forth in the quiet room.
"What's got you so worked up?" The I/C cephalopod asked, their voice filled with a mixture of amusement and concern. They carefully brushed through the Captain's tentacles, each stroke a gentle reassurance of their presence. The motion was slow and deliberate, designed to ground the Inkling in the familiarity of the touch. With the same tender care, they guided the squid back onto the familiar yet comforting couch. It was a well-known spot, a testament to countless shared moments and cherished memories.
Your hands found their way onto Three's thighs, settling comfortably on the soft fabric of their clothing. The sides of their thighs felt warm under your touch, the gentle motion of your hands creating a soothing rhythm. A sense of calm washed over you, the simple act of physical contact serving as a reminder of your shared bond.
Gradually, your lips began to trail a path of kisses down their exposed collarbone, each one a silent pledge of your affection. The lipstick you were wearing, notorious for its tendency to stain, was a deliberate choice. You had planned ahead, anticipating the rare occasion when your beloved partner would finally get a day off.
The sudden outpour of affection elicited a soft whine from Three. It was a sound of surprise, but also of desire, a testament to their longing for your touch. Their hands found their way to your back, fingers gently clawing at the material of your shirt. It was a gesture of reciprocation, a silent plea for more of the warmth and comfort that your presence provided
As you pulled back, you caught sight of the inkling's flushed face, a vivid green blush spread across their features, a testament to their flustered state. The sight was endearing, a visual representation of their emotions laid bare. They allowed their body to relax against yours, their form collapsing into your shoulder as if it was the most natural place in the world. Their momentum pulled you down with them, a sweet entanglement of limbs and shared warmth.
They snuggled against you, spooning you with a comfortable familiarity. Their head found its way to the crook of your neck, sinking deeper into the soft junction - a place where your scent lingered strongest. Their breath fanned across your skin, their inhalations deep as they took in your addicting scent, a smell that was uniquely and comfortingly you.
Laughter bubbled up from your throat, a light sound that echoed softly in the quiet room. The inkling's actions, their unabashed display of affection, had a way of igniting joy within you. As the laughter subsided, your hand found its way to Three's back, fingertips tracing soothing circles on the fabric of their shirt. The motion was slow, mirroring the gradual descent of your eyelids as the comfortable silence and warmth began to lull you to sleep.
The background noise of the Splatcast being announced served as a comforting lullaby, the familiar sounds of the broadcast blending with the rhythmic pattern of the Inkling's breaths. You welcomed the embrace of sleep, content with the knowledge that you were ending your day enveloped in shared warmth and affection

(Ignore the quality of this image I just need it for reference so you guys have a visual for what I’m taking about)
Okay so, my favourite species (bc it’s the one I conceptualized first) are the Lumyn! They are tall beings that legends say descended from the stars (though no evidence supports this) besides the Trow, they are highly adept at channeling magic. Mainly though the use of their horns! The material is lightweight, and when their horns are shed every few years many choose to donate them in order for wands to be made. Well kept horns (lustrous and healthy) are seen as signs of prosperity, strong magic conduction and are considered attractive!
Due to their highly conductive nature, the lumyn glow slightly because of the magic flowing their bodies at all times (it’s also why they always come in such pale colours)! Some theorize that that is why the lumyn have such elongated features. As they age, the lumyn never stop growing, continuing to become longer and taller, notable cases are the Wandering King (pictured below) and Grand Councilman Circinus (not pictured bc I haven’t drawn him yet)

Both have lived for an unprecedented amount of time, exceeding the species lifespan of 300 yrs by about 500 more, for reasons unknown
(On a different note, the Wandering Kings features, the very long horns, the angular face and sharp eyes, make him fit rather well within lumyn beauty standards)
the lumyn, when it comes to traditional clothing, are usually dressed in long draping fabrics, with embellishments being focused primarily on the neck and arms! When patterns are brought in, it’s mostly designed around celestial bodies, with a very common theme of quiet literally translating star charts into embroidery on an outfit (simple outfit concepts pictured below)

On another note, when two lumyn are married, intricate ties are woven between their horns. This symbolizes their bond and devotion to each other (usually done in rather eye catching colour, like red or yellow), when widowed, the connection between the ties is broken and the thread is replaced with a darker more drab colour and done more simply. When someone is lacking two horns, the intricate designs are replicated, if lacking both, the thread is worn around the neck. The four pointed stars represent the others partner, and are removed when the mourning threads are worn
okay last thing, instead of gold, silver is their decorative method of choice!
#okay so um#that was a lot#ive been thinking about them recently 🥺#red draws#the dark forest#tdf#lumyn#the wandering king#original species#original story#speculative biology#fantasy species#world building#they also mostly live in the capital of Illumia but I didn’t find that as important to mention when I don’t have the map done
