imagine you are playing a story-based game w the opportunity to learn more abt charas thru a relationship system (eg visual novels), and your ability to explore every relationship is linked to your success in a different part of the game.
#lili talking#lili dev#did you know! shop systems FUCKING suck#make stuff too cheap = good players do everything like halfway thru#make stuff too expensive = only players who optimize from the start can get everything#personally i dont think option 1 in the poll is good game design but. maybe people actually like it!!!#and option 3 i think feels bad if your failures early on lock u out from later stuff#but i dont go here (visual novels) so idfk whats expected#thanks for being my willing lab rats along this journey 🫡#still cant talk abt this yet but. i promise im cooking#let me cook!! in silence!!!!!!#<- person whos every waking moment is consumed by stuff she wants to share but cant

Poison World, Chapter 18 - When Kori reaches the generator that powers the city's infrastructure, it begins to drain her of her energy, so her brother Soru takes her place. The machine reawakens his old Curian form to drain it too, but if it means Kori can shut down Ares, Soru is willing to accept whatever happens to him from here.
#first wide shot since book 1 chapter 14 huh#can i say anything cool about this one? i wanted to draw the generator. i feel like only the lab 12 tech has been shown off#the generator is closer to ares' design standards (it kinda matches their building too?) compared to the stuff garu built#also soru's curian form has darker markings here because he lost his gold ones (chapter 21 art flashback scene) when he lost his powers.#anyways i dont hate whatevers going on here but i will be so happy to get back to closeup interaction shots#drawing#artists on tumblr#drawings#manga#anime#artist#mangaka#original character#rkgk#original character art#oc art#original characters#oc#ocs#myrios illustration project#myrios series#poison world#soru omoide#sacchan kurouto#(i mean. kinda)#kori omoide#tekuka

the worst part about accidentally getting brainrot about a show that was cancelled years ago is that the fandom is completely dead. i am chewing on a stick in this sandbox all by myself long after the playground shut down
#this is about freakish btw#the tag is either full of completely unrelated stuff or pictures of the main actor's shirtless body#.... on a completely unrelated note im 90% my kid self had a crush on liza koshy and was 100% repressing it#cause i didn't know being gay was an option back then lol#absolutely wild going 'oh cool a high school apocalypse? eh even if its bad itll be good background noise'#and then getting the 1-2 punch of recognizing the protagonist from his time on legacies and then 'LIZA FUCKING KOSHY?!?!?'#i meant 90% sure* btw lmfao#AND THEN. when i was looking up who tf ed sheeran was (the dude that played zeke on zeke and luther) i saw arden cho in the listed cast?!?!?#[doofensmirtz voice] man if i had a nickel for every time teen wolf actors appeared in zombie apocalypse shows id have 2 nickels#which isnt a lot but its weird it happened twice#(technically like 3 nickels if you wanna count the two that showed up on TWD as 2 individual appearances instead of 1)#anyways. what im trying to say is that this show was designed in a lab specifically to give me brainrot#and i fell for it hook line and sinker

Chapter 1: Rainy Night Meeting
Narrated by Yexiao.
Narrator: Cloudcrest has been thriving in the industrial sector in recent years. Now they're building a pagoda in the city center, too.
Narrator: But life hasn't changed much for the villagers in the outskirts. These self-sufficient farmers lead a peaceful life.
Narrator: However...
Narrator: There's a drab-looking house on the hill outside the village. Moss and weeds are growing out of the dilapidated walls.
Narrator: The owner of the house is rarely seen. The villagers seem wary of him.
Villager: That psycho is still living there, huh?
Villager: He's a weirdo. A bad omen. Just you wait, he's gonna bring bad luck to us all!
Narrator: But the house is, in fact, my destination today.
Narrator: It's pouring tonight, and the villagers all have their windows shut. Roaring thunder echoes through the valleys.
Narrator: I trudge along on the muddy, slippery mountain path, umbrella in hand.
Narrator: A bolt of lightning rips through the sky, like a pale fishing net being cast over the washed-out rocks.
Narrator: The frame of my umbrella is already bent and battered. I continue on my way, facing the strong winds bravely.
Narrator: A dim light seeps out of the brick building. I see I've arrived.
Narrator: Even under the eaves, the rain keeps coming in. I close the umbrella and take out the item I hid in my coat.
Narrator: It's a blueprint.
Yexiao: Good thing it didn't get wet.
Narrator: I knock and get no response. Perhaps the sound is barely audible under the strong winds.
Narrator: Patiently, I knock harder, louder.
Narrator: After a while, I finally hear rustling from inside the house, along with the opening and closing of doors.
Narrator: Another flash of lightning briefly lights up the night. As thunder booms, the door opens.
Narrator: A frail, scruffy man appears. Under the candlelight from inside, he looks practically all skin and bones.
Yexiao: Hello. My name is Yexiao.
Yexiao: I've heard you have a lab here. I'd like to ask you to help make something for me...
Narrator: The man's features twist into an expression of hatred and rage.
Weirdo: Get lost, kid! I have no time for your nonsense!
Choose either "He's got a lousy attitude!" or "What a weird fellow!"
If "lousy," ...
You: He sounds like a jerk. He should at least let you finish the sentence.
Narrator: It's fine. He'll become curious soon.
If "weird," ...
You: He's a weirdo like they say. Are you really asking him for help?
Narrator: Yeah. He's the only one who can help me with what I want.
--
Narrator: Before he slams the door shut, I shove the blueprint in his face.
Narrator: The man freezes in place. He looks up, eyes abnormally huge, pupils dilated, facial muscles trembling.
Choose either "You seem to be very sure..." or "What is that?"
If "sure," ...
You: You seem very sure he'll accept your proposal.
Narrator: Yeah. He can't say no to this.
If "what," ...
You: What exactly did you show him?
Narrator: A special design of mine.
--
Narrator: It's a blueprint of a... "monster."
Narrator: At least it's how I'd describe a creature that's never existed before in Miraland.
Narrator: On the left side of the blueprint, I wrote down the concept of the creature and the method to create it.
Narrator: The man stares at the blueprint for a while before turning his gaze on me.
Narrator: He opens his mouth as if to speak. He's a little shocked, a little suspicious.
Man: You drew this? You designed this?
Narrator: I don't reply, but simply snatch the blueprint back and stash it into my coat.
Yexiao: NOW can I go inside? It's cold out here.

"The average pediatric wheelchair can cost thousands of dollars. And when children grow and their needs evolve — or a wheelchair gets damaged — those costs multiply.
So, the team at MakeGood NOLA, a New Orleans-based adaptive design lab, has made something that can transform the world for disabled children.
“Introducing the world’s first fully 3D-printed wheelchair,” MakeGood founder and president Noam Platt started a recent social media video.
He wheels a small, almost toy-like lime-green wheelchair into the frame, complete with a matching harness, suitable for children ages 2 to 8.
“Everything from the body, to the wheels, to the tires, the seat, and even the straps, all were 3D printed on a regular Bambu Labs A1 machine,” Platt continued.
This means the design is fully compatible with a regular 3D printer anyone can have in their home.
“We designed this to be modular and easy to make,” Platt continued. “Really, anyone with a 3D printer and some filament can download the files and print it.” [Note: You can also use 3D printers for free or a small cost at some public libraries and maker spaces, opening up accessibility even further.]
Once the prototype is completely finished, it will be available as a fair-use download that anyone can use for free.

Platt said that because it has a modular design, the wheelchair can be put together without any tools or glue. And if any part of it breaks or is damaged, users can simply re-print the single piece they need.
“As a wheelchair user I love everything about this,” TikTok user @thisisharlie commented on Platt’s video debuting the wheelchair.
“Mine costs more than my car, I can’t imagine having to buy a new one every year or two as they outgrow it,” @thisisharlie continued. “You’re going to change the world.”
For Platt, that’s always been the plan.
When he created MakeGood in 2021, the nonprofit design lab was thinking of the more than 1 billion people around the globe who live with disabilities.
“Since traditional design often overlooks diverse bodies and minds, it is crucial to reshape the built environment,” MakeGood shares on its website. “The challenges our communities face — both physical and social — are solvable.”
MakeGood works with individuals to co-create their adaptive design solutions, centering the “Need Knower,” the disabled person or their primary caregivers, throughout the entire process.
Since the founding of MakeGood, 1,600 individualized adaptive devices have been delivered to families for free. Platt’s team found a niche with this wheelchair, which they call the Toddler Mobility Trainer, or TMT.
On its website, the organization says the wheelchairs were “designed with therapists from all over the world” and offer “unmatched mobility and independence to young kids.”
Children and parents agree.
“It’s an A+,” one parent said of an earlier prototype of the TMT in a report by CBS News. “It’s helped [my son] become more mobile and be able to adapt into the other things that he’s going to be offered. It’s helped his development.”
At the start of the design process, Platt reached out to area hospitals to see if he could fill a need.
“Part of it is empowering clinicians that we can go beyond what is commercially available,” Platt told CBS News. “We can really create almost anything.”
Now in the final stages of tweaking the TMT design to be ready for release, Platt is eager to get the wheelchair rolled out and into the homes of the children who need them most.

“We think this sort of 3D printing and design is going to be huge for accessibility, and for wheelchairs specifically,” Platt said in his social media video.
In the meantime, people can request a free chair from MakeGood.
“We have a growing list of people who’ve requested these, and once we finish the design, we’ll start filling those requests with custom-printed chairs, including things that you might need for your particular chair,” Platt said in a follow-up video.
Because the chairs are easily 3D printed, they can come in any color and can be modified to include other accommodations, like a section to hold a breathing device or other aid. With years of customization and design experience under his belt, this new innovation is simply an extension of Platt’s dedication to inclusive design.
In 2023, Platt told New Mobility: “I feel like every time I deliver one of these [assistive] devices, I get a hopeful feeling that the world has been changed a little bit for the better for the next generation.”"

It is the #1 WORST time for me to have one billion exiting AU ideas, but it is happening regardless and who am I to deny myself.
ANYWAY, here's what I have of what I'm calling the Sailor AU, where instead of being based around ghosts and the dead, Danny Phantom(the show) is based around the ocean!
Please note I'm not exactly experienced in character design, especially about sea-based clothing and cultures(Grew up & live in a desert. :,) )
So! Here's Jazz & Jack's designs, plus some blobby ghost blurbs. I don't think the first design of Jazz that I have is something she'd really wear- Except maybe the shirt- but I was having a lot of fun with the line art pen & didn't feel like erasing all that much to draw more clothes. So! Expect a redesign in terms of Jazz's casual clothes. But! I do like how the Boat-ware outfit came out, said outfit would be the equivalent of something like a lab outfit/hazmat in the actual show.
I'm still working on nailing down Maddie & Danny's designs, not to mention Phantom. But! I am VERY exited to work on the ghost's designs, I have some very fun ideas.
As for the Fentons in general, I imagine they'd like in some kind of fucked up lighthouse on the edge of a coastal town. I haven't nailed down the time period, but I'm thinking sometime in the early 2000's or 90's.

Minecrafters Using Reference
Reference as in real world architecture, not other minecrafters' builds, though that's a fair way to learn too. Studying real world architecture gives insights about designing buildings, while studying other minecrafters would give insight into how to accomplish certain effects in Minecraft.
I didn't have more than passing interest in architecture before watching mcyt, but now whenever I'm outside, I'm evaluating the buildings around me. Do I like their shape? color? Any interesting details? Any wear or texture? And above all: How would you do that detail/shape/etc in minecraft? (please note: I don't even play minecraft)
Rendition and Inspiration
There's a minecraft project called BuildtheEarth that's replicating the earth in minecraft on a 1 to 1 scale. There's some fantastic builds on there.
On hermitcraft, Joe Hills is known for creating to scale renditions of real world places/objects. In season 10, he's tackled a project of massive scale with Bell Labs. He used a map from the library of congress to layout all the shapes!

These are examples of renditions/replicas/copies/whatever you want to call it (Although Joe's doubles as a community build area in place of massive parking lots).
Then there's using the buildings for inspiration. This may involve just taking bits and pieces. Or maybe you just take a color palette. Or maybe just the shape. Maybe you don't take anything but vibes. As a general rule, I think having multiple sources of inspiration is important so the new build doesn't end up feeling like a rendition instead of its own thing.
Bdubs in season 9 used the bakery from Kiki's Delivery Service as inspiration for his mud cafe. It can be seen in the wood framing, the stairs, the archway, the shape, the shed, the chimney designs. But the colors, the composition, Bdubs made changes that made it his own and combined the addition to his previous shop Moss o Menos.

The aesthetics of Geminitay's season 10 base is based on the video game Dredge. I feel like the most obvious influence is in her research castle and fishing boats. She used inspiration from the spooky sea creatures in the game to create a uniquely frightening angler shop.

In Pearl's Build a Day series, she did a week focused on real world places. Here's the one she designed after a countryside home in Australia (her home country):
Goodtimeswithscar in season 7, when starting Aqua Town, based his shop on old department stores:

I like looking at his Aqua Town builds in comparison to his Scarland Main Street facades, which draw additional inspiration from Disneyland:

I feel like, comparing the builds you can see how he's grown; he's learned new detailing tricks, found colors and textures that work better with the architecture style. The main street has a similar layout to Disneyland, but his buildings are all unique.
Mogswamp is working on a massive build that's based on architecture drawings from Renzo Picasso:
He's incorporating groin vaults from roman architecture too!
I think builders learning about existing architecture is so good. It can give them so many ideas to add into their toolbox. It reminds them of small details that give builds life, like small sheds, some pipes, porches. And the builds don't need to be realistic; My mind goes to work by Shovel and Joel. Or everything Mumbo has done in season 10.

A very short new chapter this week but...wow, the preview mentioned that it's about a dream Anya had, but I wasn't expecting baby Anya right off the bat 😭

A couple things we can infer about this short scene with her mother is that 1) they're both wearing what appears to be hospital or another kind of medical facility gowns, which indicates that they were perhaps both at the lab together. Likely her mother was there first for who knows how long, and Anya was born there?

And 2) the emphasis on being able to fly like a butterfly makes me think that they're trapped there. Anya is too young at this point to understand what's happening, but her mother desires that at least Anya is able to "fly away" to a better life someday.

It's hard to tell if Anya has her mind reading ability yet, or if her mother can read minds too. We don't see any of the "sparkles" that are used as a visual cue for when Anya is mind-reading...I feel like we would have seen that in the scene below when she's looking up at her mother before hugging her. But it could just be too short of a scene to say for sure.

Some notes about the Japanese version, @spencer-is-someone and others were wondering if she calls her ママ ("mama") here as opposed to what she calls Yor, はは ("haha"), and yes, she does call her biological mother the actual word "Mama." This is consistent with the Eden interview scene too.

The first panel of the Japanese version also has this extra text on the left that reads "a precious memory from some other time..."

Something that I mentioned in my review of chapter 102 is how Endo hides the faces of certain characters in other characters' flashbacks, such as how Loid's parents' faces are hidden, as is the face of Henry's wife in Martha's flashback. In the same vein, Anya's mother's face is obscured as well.

I interpret this as the characters' suppressing the memory of the character whose face is hidden due to the emotional trauma that character elicits, a trauma that the character having the flashback is trying to overcome, whether they realize it or not. In Anya's case, it could simply be that she doesn't remember her mother's face since she was so young, but regardless, I like that Endo is being consistent with this.
Side note, it seems like the design for Anya's mother is based on Ashe, a character from one of Endo's previous works. Anya's design was based on Ashe as well, so makes sense that her mother would have a stronger resemblance.
Before the chapter ends, we're treated to "soft" Loid with the little sigh he has (the "phew" cloud in the lower right) whenever he's genuinely relaxing around the family 😊

It's interesting how the mind-reading thing from the previous chapters with Melinda is brought up...when Anya asks if Yor can read her mind, Loid looks concerned, but when Yor tells him she only knew about the potato gratin because Anya saw it on TV, he relaxed.

I kinda hope that the Melinda story continues in the next chapter, but it could be paused for now. Likely we'll be moving onto something else next time. Maybe we'll go back to the "Anya reveals her secret to Damian" thing, since school is resuming according to Loid. I am a bit surprised though that this chapter was so short despite not being called a "Short Mission" chapter. Endo could still be trying to catch up after the recent long hiatus he had due to illness. But it's fine, I'm happy with crumbs of Anya's backstory not matter how small! 😅
