Xiaolin Showdown Dragon of Metal Jack

Everything is the same but Jack ends up being the Dragon of Metal. This starts out really young as he's drawn to it and as he grows older he prefers to work on things like robots instead of things like ice skating.

Come time when he opens the puzzle box Wuya is in, he's already learned he can bend certain metals with his hands when working on his robots and such.

This is ignore by Wuya as she sees Jack pour stuff on the metal like he's making it softer and continues to belittle him about his robots. It continues until the monks see him do it and realize: He's one of the missing dragons.

To which Jack says: Oh no, I put stuff on the metal and I make my own metal cause I'm a genius!

The liquid does nothing but make the metal extra shiny and smell nice, its a dish soap combo mix he came up with as a kid playing scientist and found he could mold metal into new shapes and thought he was the smartest thing around. Still does.

Wuya can not convince him he's the dragon of metal. The monks are trying to get him away from Wuya before she can use him even more. At least he's safe right now, thanks to his own stupidity and Wuya's mean words.

So XS idea of Jack being not just Wuya's descendant but Dashi and Wuya's descendant. At first it's revealed Dashi has a descendant and everyone turns to look at Omi other than Chase who is offended as excuse you that's his kid-APPRENTICE his apprentice and he is far better than Dashi how dare you lower his little one to that idiots level.

It bring reveled it's Jack and not only is he Dashi's...he's Wuya's. Wuya is just there silently screaming.

A lot of people are like How? WTF. Chase takes one look at Jack thinks back to Dashi and Wuya and be like 'All this information does is give context to your idiocy this isn't a shock.'

Wuya is just wondering how she never realized before, all the inventions, stupid plans, breaking the timeline... also if Dashi had been able to he totally would have made robots to fight for him so he could nap longer... at least he got her desire for world domination.

Only when Jack become dragon of metal and is super competent, like as soon as he has the other dragons as friends supporting him and encouragement/guidance with his metal powers he is stupidly strong and all the other enemies are like '... ah...that checks out'

Jack:Oh man if I wasn't a good guy now i'd be so easy to take over the world

Xiaolin Showdown and Journey to the West

not sure if this was intentional but I noticed something upon a rewatch. It’s very clear to me that the main four male leads (Jack, Omi, Clay and Raimundo) are expy’s of the characters in Journey to the West (Sun Wukong, Tang Sanzang, Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing).

Jack Spicer as Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, Great Sage Equal To Heaven

-Jack’s preferred Shen Gong Wu is the Monkey Staff, which parallels Sun Wukong’s own Staff. At one point Jack becomes the leader of a group of Green Monkeys, paralleling the Monkey Kings own title for an episode

-Jack’s secondary most used Shen Gong Wu is the Changing Chopsticks to change his shape, which is another feat the Monkey king is known for

-Mirroring the Transformations in the form of the Chameleon Bot and making Duplicates of himself i the form of Robo-Jack.

-“childlike playfulness and often goofy impulsiveness is in contrast to his cunning mind.” Jack is often dismissed by others, including the Heylin, despite being incredibly disruptive to their plans when they cast him aside. Case in Point; if it wasn’t for Jack’s actions at end of Season 1, they wouldn’t have stopped Wuya. He even had a way to go back in time before the Sands of Time were revealed

-First Episode with Chameleon Bot; he uses it to replace Kimiko, knowing the others will dismiss her on the basis of her being a girl and takes nearly all their Shen Gong Wu while he’s at it

-Episode 12, we already see Jack compiling a spreadsheet to track the Shen Gong Wu that have awakened, and if Wuya hadn’t been so hellbent on the Heart of Jong, this could have had benefit to her. Also Wuya wouldn’t have been able to build Mala Mala Jong WITHOUT Jack having all the necessary Shen Gong Wu in the first place.

-Even when he becomes Good Jack, Jack’s solution in the Ying-Yang World is to split himself in two and use a double to distract the chi beast, which again, if he wasn’t good and hadn’t gone in there in the first place, wouldn’t have restored the Dragons’ Chi

-While he is goofy and clearly cares about his Robots, you’d think Wuya and Chase would realize Jack is an actual threat, but that ties back into the Monkey King story. The ‘Gods’ give him the lowliest position in heaven to ‘keep an eye on him’ and he resents this.

-While a less competent fighter in the show, it does take Omi having to create a time paradox to stop Jack from taking over the world.

Omi as Tang Sanzang

-Omi’s Element is Water, and Tang was found in a River

-While more competent in the show, Omi is also an orphan and shown to be the most devoted of the monks/dragons in training. He is also the one that most believes in redemption, especially for Jack Spicer

-He is also supposed to be the one spreading wisdom and helping his disciples, which he does with a majority of them

Clay as Sha Wujing AKA Sandy

-Clay’s element is earth, tying in with Sha Wujing’s element. -Clay is primarily a more peaceful character who is large, logical and polite, so this can make him a bit less interesting than the other three.

Raimundo as Zhu Bajie AKA Pigsy

-Ladies’ Man/Skirt Chaser; Raimundo is shown several times to be susceptible to attractive women.

-Lazy and often doesn’t want to do work; Raimundo’s main complaint has been the amount of work needed at the temple.

-While helpful, can be selfish—as shown near the end of the first season. He is ultimately good, but often gives in to his own personal desires until he grows as a person.

While I think Metal Dragon AU is fitting for Jack, I'm also accepting the headcanon that he might be a descendant of Sun Wukong lol.

I had a few requests for future Jack to go with the monks and so please welcome Famous Producer and Genius of the Cinematic Screen: Jack Spicer!

His rise to fame can be attributed to his loyal cast of chameleon bots who can take on the appearance of anyone and anything at the snap of his fingers, and his pure dedication to practical affects. All of which come together to make his movies some of the most impressive and critically acclaimed masterpieces of their time.

I think the funnest past of making these designs is comparing them to the other AU future versions like, this Jack is so scrawny compared to his Dragon of Metal design 🤣

Twst Fairy tail AU

So I was the new 100 year quest recently and since I've had Twisted Wonderland on the mind I thought it would be fun to think and brainstorm what type of magic the Twst boys would have if they were in the Fairy Tail verse this probably won't become a full fic maybe write some one shots or something IDK.

This probably will be only 2 or three parts with this part focusing covering Ramshackle, Heartslyabul and Savanaclaw:

Heartslaybul:

Riddle: Starting off with Heartslaybul's dorm leader, I had a little bit of trouble with Riddle but I think he would use Fire magic/Fire make. I chose this magic since he is a bit of a hot head if you think about it. It would be cool to have his magic at least in this Au reflect it and the fact that he set the ground on fire during Chapter 6 when STXY robots came after him. He would be a really strong mage to go up against. I can also see him use a form a nullification magic as well.

Trey: For Trey I can see him using Soild Scrip magic due to the fact that his unique magic allows him to over write magic. During the battle of Fairy Tail Levy is seen overwriting/nulifying Freed's barrier that was keeping Natsu, Gajeel and Makarov in the guild and I think it's a form of solid script.

Cater: For Cater he would use Copy magic. in this Au Cater is pretty strong as Copy would let him transform into other people and gain the transformed person's knowlage as well be able to use their magic. I think it fits as Cater is known to gather information when needed.

Ace: For Ace this one was tricky but...I went with Sky dragon slayer magic since Ace uses wind magic pretty often in the main story and I was trying to use the boy's unique magic and building off that but since Ace hasn't unlocked his unique magic yet I had to get creative with his choice of magic.

Deuce: Deuce was another one I struggled with. I wanted to give him a strength based magic but funnily enough Fairy Tail doesn't have one so I got creative and decided on Devil Slayer Magic and Iron make magic (since he can summon cauldrons and cauldrons are made of metal)

Savanaclaw

Leona: Leona would definitely have sand magic. Leona's unique magic plays such a big part in who he is as he was shunned by the royal attendants for his magic and I can't imagine Leona having another type of magic. Leona would definitely be really good at fighting in this Au he gives me Laxus vibes

Ruggie: Ruggie was another tricky one but I'm gonna give him Territory like Minerva. Ruggie is a very sneaky person being able to steal Riddle and Cater's pens without them noticing as well as Azul's keys to the vault in book 3 so he would be great at using Territory. Like Leona I can see him be really good at fighting.

Jack: Jack would use Take over magic. I considered Animal Soul since his unique magic allows him to shift into a wolf but in this Au Take Over Beast Soul would suit him very well

Ramshackle:

Grim: Grim would definitly be a Exceed who uses fire magic. Like in twst Grim would want to be a very powerful mage. I can see him learning how to get a human form like Carla did in the final season.

Yuu/MC: I can see Yuu having a hard time using caster magic unlike the other boys. So Yuu would use holder magic, I thought about having Yuu use card magic like Cana but I think Celestial Spirit magic fits them a bit more. I can see Yuu starting off with two golden keys and three silver Keyes

I love this AU and wanted to take my own spin on it.

In this version Jack has always been aware he was the Dragon of Metal finding out through his Grandmother who previously was in the Heylin conflict. Though he can control his powers he was never taught to incorporate them in to a fighting style so he just uses them to speed up the process of creating Jack bots. He assumed everyone was already aware because really why would a random dude be involved in this conflict, let alone one who could pump out robots so fast.

He never really thought to mention it till a showdown were the challenge was to escape a metal maze first. He was super confused why they would outright put him at an advantage but just kinda shrugs it off. He uses his powers to locate the Wu in the center of the maze and proceeds to make his way towards it before deciding F it and just rips holes in the maze walls. All of a sudden the cheering from the monks stops and Jack looks up confused at the sudden silence only to see everyone staring at him in shock.

The rest of the fic is just Omi doing everything in his power to get Jack on their side and Chase being at a loss for words,

XS AU/fic prompt idea where Jack was meant to go to temple with the other monks, letters were sent but his parents never looked at them just ignored them.

Just imagining Jack looking for something and ends up finding the letter, realizing he was meant to be with them on the xiaolin side and suddenly that thought is in his head, that he was meant to be on the good side.

From the episode with the truth and lie showdown a lot of his i'm on the bad side being because if he's on the bad side and messes up everything fine if he's on the good side and loses... the worlds ended and it's his fault because he's not good enough... the heylin side is safer.

Jack tries to forgot about it and ignore it, but it's clearly affecting him,everyone on Heylin side just ignores it but the monks, Omi at first but others getting more worried noticing Jack's off cue them constantly busting into his lab to check on him.

All this making Jack even more conflicted and torn on what side he is he can't be good because he's sure he'll mess up and ruin everything.

This making the monks worry more because 'ok somethings really wrong with him he didn't even monologue that time , we should take him ice skating he likes that right?'

The monks finding out a letter was sent to Jack. Cue them instantly going and like 'Nope you've already adopted into the friend group' ' you've kidnapped us plenty of times turnabouts fair play.

So more modern-day frostcup college AU thoughts. Hiccup is still a major nerd and sometimes can be very awkward. He will sometimes info dump about his interests in dragons, video games, metal music, and his current D&D  campaign to people he wants to get to know better. Jack is also nerdy, but he is mostly viewed as a cool prankster by his peers. He works in the campus coffee shop, making drinks and awkardly trying to flirt with cute guys.

Do you have any particular thoughts on the concept of Dragon of Metal Jack? Interested to hear your take.

Excellent question! I'm of two minds about it.

I know why they went with the four elements the audience would accustomed to, but the WuXing elements would have been so much fun, and offered a great exploration of the setting and lore based in China. (Honestly, the elemental aspect itself got surprisingly little exploration even as is.)

So it's a blast to explore a sort of AU where you do have Metal and Wood as true elements. And naturally, the best characters in those spots are Jack and Jermaine respectively. It'd give them both a good avenue to have more focus and more dynamic arcs than they got to have in the show proper.

Jack's naturally always working with metal, and metal was and still is a rarer elemental to see in Western cartoons, but I've read and watched Chinese media that uses it to such great effect. Since he's always surrounded by some amount of it, it'd be so easy to slip in a power reveal scene where he accidentally moves some scrap metal or peels back a pane during a flinch.

Having one of the chosen few dragons be already on the evil side gives such Dark Magical Girl vibes, and there have been some great stories in that format. It could even play off Hannibal's comments on Jack being a single generation from good, it would force Jack to confront the self-sabotage and fear of ever trying to chase something with his all because he expects himself to fail, and it'd be a good way to follow up all that unresolved tension that came up between himself and Omi multiple times where Omi insisted that Jack has a place there at the temple with him.

And yet...

In the setting as we have it in canon, there's something just amazing about characters like Jack and Jermaine entering the fray and standing toe-to-toe with these chosen warriors picked by elemental forces themselves, and being able to rise to meet that power with just their own human ingenuity and determination.

These normal guys who aren't here because they were given some big spiritual invitation, and who are all the more badass for it. They're surrounded by a magical world they weren't a part of an weren't directly invited into, and they stand toe-to-toe with the people who were already destined to be there. Something like an underdog beginning story.

Both routes are a treasure trove of potential.
