i don't know who needs to hear this today but the jedi would not be body-shy

especially during the war. some would be uncomfortable, sure, or even heavily dislike being nude and/or bathing around others, but the point of that is that would be respected as a choice. there is a very large difference between preferring not to be nude around others, for cultural religious or personal reasons, versus being ashamed. nothing you can do can convince me jedi would be ashamed or embarrassed of their or others' bodies.

why. why would the jedi think nudity undignified. why would they turn their noses up at it as unseemly, rather than a choice and preference

Hello, friend! I know this is a bit sudden, but I’m interested in getting into futball lately (a lot of my friends enjoy it). However… to truly appreciate sports, I need narratives/ships to garner interest 😭 If you don’t mind me asking, what are some of your faves for both?

re: narratives

so my fave kind of narratives are like incredible come backs/fairytale story which to me is very champions league esque: like ajax’s run in 2019 / liverpool in istanbul in 2005,,,,, even real madrid last year bc they just would not fucking lose like it’s crazy

leeds united also have very good vibes,,,,, they’re run by an american manager and have 3 or 4 american players and they play such an interesting style of football so i would recommend them…. also they’re very pretty and exciting to watch (like even when they’re bad they’re still good bc they all clearly love playing for the team lmao)

personally,,,, i love the found family kinda team (see; liverpool, arsenal, maybe even a national team like morocco and their 2022 world cup run???)

or like a mixture of young and old talent that are rlly established in europe with loads of young talent (real madrid, psg, bayern)

or a mainly young ambitious team who are taking everyone by surprise bc they’re so good (napoli, arsenal)

or…just a team that is very pretty (spurs, ac milan, roma,,, or just basically all the italian teams)

the idea that thinking alignment is a bad game mechanic = “not being able to handle conversations about morality” is a fucking wild take

#i dont hate alignment #but i do think trying to apply it to anything besides dnd #is doomed to fail #because the only reason it makes any sense in dnd is as a basis for a fantasy cosmology #and at the end of the day it doesnt do a very good job at that #because while functioning as the base understanding of reality within this universe #it also fails to acknowledge itself as a humano/euro-centric realization of morality #the centerpoint of alignment is not flexible or considered in relation to different cultures #alignment (as conceived) says bad is XYZ and good is getting rid of XYZ #ABC races do XYZ so are bad #you are therefore only good if you oppose ABC #alignment does not ask 'what does goodness or lawfulness look like in a goblin society?'#it says 'goblins are chaotic evil. if you are good you are obliged to kill goblins'#obviously you dont have to play your game that way #and there has been enough pushback against that mindset that the text is finally starting to reflect a new attitude #but it still remains the core of the concept #honestly i dont think there is any choice wotc could make moving into 5.5 regarding alignment that i would be totally happy with #leaving it as is or getting rid of it both feel like bad options #changing the way it is implemented is the obvious answer but there is no way to do that that will make everyone happy (duh)#anyway just bugs when people act like their (probably better) more socially conscious definitions of alignments are like #them /figuring out/ the real meaning of it and what they are supposed to be #rather than admitting this is how they like to homebrew alignment to better fit with their own sense of ethics #that is not really what the people i am responding to in this moment were doing #but something i see often enough
