This one is for my prisoner. ITS JUST WHUMP.
@deadwhisper
Cw: whipping, gore, comfort comes later >:D
(No reposts but reblogs appreciated <3)
Punishment
Hero screamed as the whip came down against their back once more. Over and over and over again. The pain never stopped. Supervillain was ruthless with their torture, not giving Hero so much as a second of air before they brought the whip down against their back once more.
Hero could see the black spots now dancing in their field of vision. They were so weak and so tired, their throat was burning from the hoarse screaming and lack of water since they’d arrived and their entire body was beginning to go numb. With one final lash against torn and bloody skin, and one final scream of pain, Hero collapsed unconscious.
Splash-
Hero gasped awake, eyes shooting open only to shut tight at the bright light in their eyes and the pain from a hand pulling their hair.
“Oh, my sweet Hero~” Supervillains grip tightened on Hero’s hair as they pulled their head back even more, putting incredible strain on Hero’s neck. “I’m not done with you yet.”
Supervillain released Hero’s hair from their death grip as they circled around to the shredded skin on Hero’s back.
Hero was already crying, they hated it, they couldn’t show Supervillain that they were weak, but they couldn’t help it either. The pain was unbearable and in some sort of far away land they could hear Supervillain ask them something, but they couldn’t focus enough to decipher it. Letting out a small whine instead, Hero clamped down on their tongue to keep it from happening again.
Supervillain uttered something—louder this time—but Hero’s head was still spinning and they couldn’t seem to get control of themselves. They needed to focus on what Supervillain was saying, or things could take a turn for the worse.
Supervillain stared annoyingly down at the clump of human shivering and shaking, crying and whimpering from the pain. Pathetic. With three steps forwards they extended their leg with a kick as they slammed their boot into Hero’s back.
The scream this time was cut short as Hero’s voice lost itself in the pain. They could feel the dirt and grime from the bottom of Supervillains boot in their wounds, stuck there, infecting their already ruined back.
It finally dawned on the hero, they were going to die here, if starvation and lack of water didn’t get them, the infection of their wounds would. This would be their end, no great heroic stand off, just locked in Supervillains cellar, enduring the worst pain of their life.
Something clattered behind them, sounding like the lock to the basement door, but the hero couldn’t care less. If Supervillain was leaving them to die now, then so be it. Anything would be better than suffering from this pain anymore.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing.”

This is so good!
If I was a kid of this generation, this would be at the top of my list of favorite books. It's Men in Black, Harry Potter, Spy Kids, and Percy Jackson all rolled into one.
Amari and the Night Brothers is a fun, mystery, adventure-fantasy tale that follows a young Black girl, Amari Peters, who enlists in a hidden society known as the Bureau of Supernatural Affairs after discovering a ticking briefcase in her missing older brother's closet. Traveling from Rosewood low-income housing projects to an ordinary place on the outside where mermaids, aliens, dwarves, witches, magicians, dragons, and other creatures actually do exist on the inside, Amari must compete for a spot against other children who've always known of this organization while on a secret mission of her own: to find out what happened to her missing brother.
Penned by B.B. Alston (pictured above holding the two alternative covers), this magical debut middle-grade novel, which is the first book in his trilogy series, touches on topics like bullying, classism, and racist microaggressions. The whole time I was reading (or should I say flying through this book), I kept thinking, "This should be made into a movie." Well turns out 17-year-old Marsai Martin's got that covered 😏. She is set to produce and star in the flick.
I can't wait. Now on to book 2.
