You may think of Boss as old-fashioned, but he's seen a fair amount of depravity back in the day. Before gambling was deemed illegal in Japan, he'd owned several casinos in big districts like Ginza and Kabukichƍ, and consequently spent a lot of time in various parlors. Unlike many of his men, however, he never really cared much for adult entertainment. In his drunken rants he used to say that women would be his downfall, and no one would want to be involved with him, anyways.
He might be into you calling him daddy, although you should expect a lot of dad jokes to go with it. He’s a silly old man like that. Could be interested in shibari, because it takes a lot of patience and skill and he’d probably enjoy taking his time and gazing at you after each knot. It’s quiet and intimate, and he gets to tease you about it afterwards, especially if it’s an arrangement to go under your clothes. “What’s the matter, (Y/N) love? Tongue tied?”
His recurring humor around his age makes you wonder if he’d even be interested in children. When you finally bring up the topic, Boss is very casual about it. “Sure”, he’ll say with a grin, “whatever the missus wants.” You suspect he’s not taking you seriously, but after settling you on his lap and having a hearty laugh about it, he’ll conclude, this time with confidence: “Have a look outside this room. See all those rascals? I raised them! Ya think I can’t handle a bunch of kids?”
Daitou can be surprisingly (and unintentionally) kinky, especially if you encourage him to. He’ll apologize the day after for being too rough, even if you tell him it's fine and you quite literally asked for it (See Valentine's Day incident). Overall, though, I’d say it depends entirely on you. He can be dominant or submissive, according to your wishes. You can go all out with him, he’s sturdier than most and takes great pride in it. If you’re into more extreme hobbies like knife play, you’re certainly in good hands.
Daitou lives in the moment and hasn't really planned too far ahead. Such is the life of a yakuza: you never know when you might lose a limb or more in the next gang fight. He's therefore quite surprised by your proposal of having children in the future. Is it even something realistic for someone like him? On the other hand, it's hard to refuse that enthusiastic smile you're flashing at him each time the topic comes up. "Do you, uh...", he begins one day while looking at baby toys in the store. He fidgets with his prosthetic eye nervously. "Do you really think I'd make a good dad? Heh."
Kazuya can be quite kinky and loves teasing you in public about it. Last time you were hanging out with him and his underlings, you happened to pass by a park bench you'd recently used during your nightly strolls together. “This location is familiar”, he’ll hum with a smirk. “Isn’t this where we
ah. Nevermind.” Despite your frequent protests, he always struggles to keep his mouth shut. Can you really blame him for wanting to brag to others? You're an undeniable catch.
"Kids?" he repeats with a raised eyebrow. Good question, although something he's considered many times already. What, you thought he wouldn't notice your curious glances whenever some woman walks by with a baby stroller? He pretends to ponder your suggestion and declares after a long moment: "Well, you'd certainly make a great milf, and I obviously can't have anyone else do the honors." He picks you up with a mischievous grin on his face. "When do we start?"

Louie isn’t evil.
Or: what Pikmin 4 tells us about his character.
BIG WARNING FOR PIKMIN 4 SPOILERS! (and the rest of the series)

I want to preface this by saying that I am in no way trying to be the end-all, be-all of character interpretations, but Pikmin 4 to me, at least, confirms the suspicions I’ve had since playing Pikmin 2 and 3 all those years ago that Louie ISN’T secretly evil, or possessed, or whatever else. He’s just
 Louie. And I think that’s interesting in and of itself.
1. Olimar himself vouches for him, and clearly doesn’t think he’s a bad person.

Say what you will, but I’m inclined to think Olimar is a decent judge of character. Clearly he’s worked with Louie for enough time to see that while he’s not very good at his job, he’s not intentionally so— at least not in a malevolent way (will get more into this later). He also wants you to forgive him for Olimar’s sake, which can be read as self-sacrificing (as Olimar is known to be) but I also think hints at the soft spot he has for Louie.
It's also worth noting that he states during a end-of-day conversation that he told Louie that, since he's a new employee, he should do everything Olimar does... including throw castaways into the onion. Interesting that Louie took this so literally, but it does provide an explanation for why he kidnapped the Koppaites beyond "he's evil and crazy".
2. He really, REALLY loves his grandma.

Like, wow. He talks about her SO MUCH both in his Piklopedia entries and also elsewhere in the game. It's interesting. Worth noting is that he never mentions any other family members- unlike Olimar, who talks about his wife and each of his children independently. I've said this before, but the content of a lot of these entries implies to me that Louie was mainly raised by his grandma, likely since birth. And given some of her emails in Pikmin 2, assuming they're also canon to Pikmin 4's timeline... Well, Louie certainly had an interesting upbringing. But he clearly loves her all the same.
3. He has a mischievous streak and tends to do things on impulse.

This was already fairly obvious from the previous games, but I think it's worth noting that this game confirms that he's... would immature be the right word? In any regard, he doesn't seem to see himself as a "grown-up"- when in all likelihood he is. Personally, as a 22-year-old, I find that pretty relatable as I often think of myself as younger when in reality I am by all definitions an adult. This, along with his grandma still being around, makes it pretty much certain that Louie is a lot younger than Olimar and the president, likely in his early to mid twenties. Being a bit of a goofball isn't really out of the ordinary, all things considered.

THAT BEING SAID, he's clearly capable of practicing self-restraint when he wants to. What he says here about the red Pikmin is pretty significant, since we know he's willing to eat just about anything- but clearly he has some reservations about creatures that are friendly and helpful. Which leads to...
4. He loves dogs and fluffy things.

Same. But he doesn't even consider eating Moss, Oatchi or the Ancient Sirehound, showing that his creature-eating habits stop at things he recognizes as useful. He clearly also holds affection for things that are soft and fuzzy, and says as much.
5. He is so autism.

He plays with fidget toys. He loves certain textures and sounds. This guy is stimming all over PNF-404!!! I think this also lends some explanation for why his behavior is what it is- things like taking Olimar's suggestion to do as he does super literally even after crashing on an alien planet, his hyperfixation on cooking and tendency not to communicate and incorrectly interpret situations (thinking the Koppaites are kidnappers in 3, running away from you in 4). He could even be low or no empathy as well, explaining why it takes a hot minute to get him to understand why people are upset with him about something.
Interestingly this game also makes it clear that Louie wants to live on the planet, or at least thought he did while you were chasing him down, which makes a lot of sense when you consider that he doesn't really seem to fit in back on Hocotate. I, too, wish to run away to an alien world with all of the things that I like and no other people, so I get you, Louie.
6. He hates his boss and his job, and the golden pikpik carrot incident was likely premeditated.

This probably looks bad, but honestly? As a fellow work-hating anti-capitalist schmuck I get it. The president is for all intents and purposes a huge asshole, from sending Olimar straight back to the planet after selling his ship to not caring that Louie got left behind, just wanting to find the rest of the treasures. I doubt he is very kind to his employees, and doesn't seem very good at running the business. Definitely a funny character, but if he were my boss I would absolutely want to punt him into the sun.
From some other entries he clearly wants to sell certain things to accrue money, but it's for things like getting better kitchen tools and following his dream to have his own cooking show. Clearly being a freight driver isn't what Louie actually wants to do with his life, and he could not give less of a shit about what happens to the company. Very short-sighted on his part, but also again, yeah I get you Louie.
7. He... doesn't like the color red for some reason.

Honestly, I'm not even really sure what to make of this. Is it because it reminds him of the Hocotate ship? Or does he just not like the color? Would be very interesting considering that it's Olimar's signature color. Perhaps that's at least part of why he attacks you in Pikmin 2- though that's speculation for another day.

Also funny to me is his comments on the black-colored treasures. We know blue is his favorite color, but I guess he's also a bit of a goth at heart. Lol.
In conclusion.
I think Louie isn't written or intended to be evil, and Pikmin 4's portrayal of him was intentionally written to confirm this. He's just, as some have said, an agent of chaos, but that doesn't make him a bad person. Just an autistic 20-something working a shitty job he doesn't care about, who loves his grandma and has a mischievous streak and a hyperfixation on food. At least from what I can interpret, ymmv!

Starting school wasn’t as bad as you thought it would be. Like the adults in your life said—it’s only scary until you go in and experience it. You have to keep your head held high and believe in yourself, and that’s exactly what you did. To your relief, you made your first friend easily. She was a girl, a lot smaller in height than you. You found her outside of the classroom, hyperventilating while the teacher attempted to console her. Before you could step inside the room, the teacher pulled you aside. You were asked to keep her company since she was having a tough time settling in, and you did it in a heartbeat. 
Her name was Robin. The two of you became inseparable, always found sitting next to each other in every class. For the first time in your life, you were invited back to someone else’s home. After getting permission with some extensive begging, your parents eventually caved and drove you over to her house. You never shut up about her, and she never shut up about you. Both of your families had to endure the nonstop chatter about your best friend. 
When the car stops outside of their house, your breath is taken away by the sheer size. This is way bigger than your place! As soon as the car door opens, you sprint up the path and wait outside of their entryway, a giant smile plastered to your face. You wave behind you at your parents, watching as they get back in the car. They were so proud of you for stepping out of the comfort zone you stuck yourself to when you were younger. Before you started school, their main concern was that you’d have a hard time fitting in amongst the crowd. You didn’t particularly get along well with the children in your neighbourhood, but you didn’t tell your parents the reason why. Those kids were just too mean, nothing like Robin. 
Fiddling with your hands, you began to wonder if anyone was going to let you in. Just as you reach to press the doorbell, the door opens. A man towers over you, a somewhat surprised look on his face. He turns his head back to look in the house, his attention temporarily assigned elsewhere. That’s when you notice the younger boy clinging to his leg, his head tilted as he stares at you with curiosity. 
“Hello, little one. Are you Robin’s friend?” The man pushes the young boy aside, ruffling his hair before crouching down to be on your level.
“I am! We’re best friends.” You give him a cheesy grin, and his face softens. 
“Robin and her mom aren’t here right now. You can come in, it might be a little wait.” He steps out of the way, clearing entry for you.
“Okay! Thank you, sir.” You take your shoes off and wander into the house, taking a look around at the interior. 
Too preoccupied with being wowed by their house, you didn’t hear the conversation between Robin’s father and the young boy who appeared to be hiding from you. Letting out a sigh, Robin's father strolls back over to you, accidentally startling you by placing a hand on your shoulder.
“This is my little boy, Sunday. He’s Robin’s older brother.” His dad drags him forward by the arm, almost crashing your two tiny bodies to the floor.
“Hi
” Sunday speaks quietly, unable to look you in the face.
“Hi, Sunday.” You smile, your eyes drifting down to see him fidgeting with his hands in a similar way you do.
“Do you wanna play with my toys
?” Mustering all of his courage, he looks at you and waits for your answer. 
You stare at him, then up at his dad. You were supposed to be here for Robin, but no one gave you a time frame for how long she would be missing. Since you had nothing else to do, you nodded. Sunday’s father made a cheer noise before leaving you in the living room with the young boy. He had long hair, a similar bluish shade to his sister’s. The wings attached to his head flutter before he extends his hand out.
“Let’s go play.” He beams, accepting your hand that you stretched out to meet his. 
The two of you scurried upstairs, a half-sprint, half-walk, speed. Neither one of you was that fast, but there’s no rush. Family pictures decorated each space on the wall, ranging from baby pictures to wedding photos. It was nice to see how well everyone seemed to get along, it made you happy that Robin had a nice home to live in.
Sunday’s room was huge—even bigger than your parents’ bedroom. Your mouth dropped as you looked around at all his belongings, a wide collection of stuffed animals littered on his bed. You wanted to say something, but you couldn’t get any words out of your mouth.
“Um
 Do you want to play with my teddies? You’re looking at them funny.” Sunday walks over to his bed, taking one of the stuffed animals into his arms.
“Sorry! I think they’re cute. We can play whatever you want!”
“I want to play with the teddies.” He mumbles, scooting over to make space for you on his bed.
“What are your teddies’ names?”
“Oh, I didn’t give them names. Am I supposed to?”
“It makes it more fun! Can I name them?”
“If you wanna.”
“My one is gonna be called Cuddles and your one can be Patchy.”
“Patchy
” Sunday looks down at his teddy, squeezing it tighter in his embrace.
“What job is Patchy gonna have? Cuddles is a teacher!”
“I want Patchy to be the president.”
“Wow, the president?”
“Yeah, I wanna be the president too when I’m older.”
“That’s so cool!”
“You think?”
“Yeah!”
Sunday’s cheeks grow warm from hearing your excitement. He stretches Patchy’s arms and makes it “hug” Cuddles.
“Do you go to my school?” You inquire. You’re sure Robin would’ve introduced you to her big brother by now. 
“I’m homeschooled.”
“You have school at home?”
“Kinda. My parents have a tutor that comes in and teaches me stuff.”
“Ohh.” You’ve never heard of homeschooling, but it piques your interest. “Do you have any friends from homeschool?”
“Not really.” He didn’t want to admit that he was the only one who attended the private tutoring sessions.
“Why don’t you come to school with me and Robin?”
“I like it at home.”
“That’s awesome!” You give him a thumbs up, continuing to delve into the roleplay you created in your mind.
After a while of having Cuddles teach Patchy some valuable life lessons, such as how to pour a glass of water without spilling it, you begin to wonder where Robin is. You’ve been here for at least an hour or two, but then again, you don’t know how to tell the time quite yet. Sunday’s eyes were sparkling as he watched you play—this was his first time playing with someone who wasn’t part of his family.
“Do you wanna be friends?” Sunday asks, his nose scrunched while he waits for the big news. His wings were completely still—it almost seemed like he was holding his breath.
“Of course I wanna be friends! You’re really fun and nice.” As you would with Robin, you lean forward and wrap your arms around him, feeling the flutter of his wings brushing against your cheeks. It tickled, and you began to giggle.
“Can I tell Dad?” There was nothing but joy in his voice when he broke free, springing to his feet straight away.
“If you want to!”
Bursting out of his room, Sunday runs down the hallway calling for his father. Met with urgency, he comes running at the call of his son, bumping into him before he can make it down the stairs.
“Dad!” Sunday exclaims, practically jumping in place with Patchy still in his hands.
“Is everything okay?”
“I have a friend!”
“Is that so? I’m glad, kid! Go on, go back to play.”
“Are you proud of me?”
“Very. Good job, Sunday.” Placing a kiss on Sunday’s forehead, his father pats his back before he dashes back off to his room. 
Sunday returns, stumbling over his own feet. He lands flat on the bed, chuckling to himself as you stare down at him. This was a big thing for Sunday, and you could tell that this friendship meant a lot to him. 
“Do you know when Robin is gonna be back?”
“She’s at singing practice with Mom. But it’s okay, we can play together.”
“Robin can sing?!” You gasp, clasping your hands together while Sunday nods.
“Yeah, she’s been going to those lessons since like, forever. She’s really good too!”
“Wow, you guys are so cool.”
“You’re way cooler.”
“Am not! You’re super smart and Robin can sing, I don’t really have anything like that.”
“You’re good at imagining things! I couldn’t even think of names for my teddies until you gave them some.”
“Is that cool?”
“I think it’s cool. I dunno how you do it so easily.”
You feel a surge of happiness wash over you, cuddling your knees to your chest. Sunday was so nice. Part of you wishes he could come to your school so you could all play together at recess, but Sunday seemed pretty adamant about liking his homeschooling. 
Time passes by quickly, you and Sunday continue to play with the teddies, having their identities expand rapidly. You yawn, rubbing your eyes and putting down Cuddles. Outside of Sunday’s window, you can see that the sun has started to set, and Robin still hasn’t made it back. You’re sad that she ditched you, but it wasn’t all bad with Sunday’s company.
“My parents are gonna be here to pick me up soon.”
“Already?” Sunday whines, his bottom lip flipping down. “Maybe I can ask Dad if it’s okay for you to stay for dinner.”
“Will I be allowed?”
“I think so. We have a lot of empty seats at the dinner table.” Sunday takes your hand, leading you towards the door. “Come on, let’s ask dad! Maybe if we add extra pleases it’ll work.”
Scurrying down the hall, you skip a few stairs as he drags you into the living area. You take a moment to catch your breath while he sprints off, heading straight towards where his father is sitting. Due to the distance, you can’t pick up on the conversation, but you see Sunday pointing at you with a pleading expression. Calling you over, you walk slowly towards to the two, still recollecting your breath.
“Sunday asked if you could stay for dinner. Is that what you’d like?”
“If it’s okay I’d like that a lot.” You put on your best smile, remembering what Sunday had mentioned. “Please.”
“What a well-mannered child! You didn’t need to ask so politely, but who am I to say no to a new friend? Do you have your parents’ phone number?”
“Um, I think I gave Robin a piece of paper with my family stuff on it. She said she gave it to her mom.”
“I know where it’ll be. Get comfy on the sofa, you two. I’ll call your parents and let them know to collect you after we eat.”
“Okay! Thank you, Sunday and Robin’s dad!”
Heading to the bigger sofa, you and Sunday climb on, legs dangling while the TV plays in the background. You were thrilled to see what they would have to offer since their house is so fancy, but you’re also worried in case the meal they serve isn’t to your liking. Either way, your parents taught you to eat what you’re given. Whether you like it or not will be kept to yourself. 
“I told you it’d work.” Sunday smiles subtly, kicking his feet which hover above the floor, not quite reaching it yet.
The two of you proceed to watch TV, a nature documentary which had been left running while his father made a call to your parents. After a few minutes pass, he returns and tells you both the good news, catching both of your faces ignite with thrill. It didn’t take long for the meal his father arranged to finish cooking, now scooping fair portion sizes onto three respective plates. The leftovers go back into the oven, keeping them warm for when Robin and her mother return from their outing together. 
Their dining room was grand. It’s the first time you’ve seen a chandelier hang over a dinner table in real life—you always thought it was something exclusive to the rich people in cartoons. It made you wonder if they were rich. They had so much more than you and the other kids in school did, but Robin never spoke much about home. If you lived here, you wouldn’t be able to keep quiet about all of the luxuries. They’re extremely lucky.
When you took your seat, your face contorted at the vast arrangement of cutlery in front of you. You were only used to the classics, unsure of why there were spoons of different sizes displayed neatly in front of you. Sunday pulls out the chair beside you and sits down, patiently awaiting permission to begin tucking in.
“Um
 I think your dad gave me too many spoons
” You fidget with the spoons of different sizes, and his gaze drifts over to you. He seems perplexed by your statement. 
“Huh? You have everything you need.” 
“Why do I have two spoons?”
“This one is the main one you’ll eat with,” Sunday picks up the bigger spoon, then slides it over to you. “Use that one first.”
“What about the little spoon?”
“It’s the one you use for dessert.”
“Oh.” You nod your head, blissfully unaware of fine dining etiquette. “In my house, we use big spoons for everything.”
“Really?”
“Before we eat, it’s fair that we show our gratitude for receiving this meal.” Sunday’s father stands to his feet, followed by Sunday. Unsure of what to do, you remain gawking at the two until Sunday tugs you by the sleeve, encouraging you to stand too.
There was a moment of silence over the dining room until his father bowed, followed by Sunday, then you. A domino effect. Now that it had been announced that you could eat, you didn’t hesitate. You weren’t sure what the exact name of this dish was, but one thing is for sure—you devoured it. You could hear the small chuckle Sunday’s father attempted to suppress as he looked at you. It was embarrassing; you thought he would be mad at you, but he seemed to understand the circumstances. 
“If you’d like more, I can get you another serving.”
“It’s okay! Thank you. It’s sooo good! You’re super lucky, Sunday! Your dad is such a good cook.”
“Ah, I didn’t cook it. Our chef did. I’ll be sure to send your compliments later on.”
“You have a chef?!”
“We do indeed.”
“Wow! Like a private chef?! Do they make anything you want?”
“That’s the sole purpose of a chef’s career, dear.” Sunday’s father snickers, reaching for his glass of aged red wine. 
When everyone had finished their plate, a waiter appears from a door you hadn’t initially acknowledged and collects the dishes. Just seconds after, another appears with two bowls of dessert. Your eyes widen as you see the ice cream placed in between you and Sunday. It appears to be drenched in syrup and other toppings. 
“I figured that Sunday would like to share his dessert with his new friend. Is that okay with you both?” His father glances in your direction, watching the nods in unison.
Sunday didn’t seem to eat much, mainly scraping at the sides of the bowl. When you looked up at him, he was smiling to himself, pleasantly happy with the small serving he was given. 
It was about time that today came to an end. You walk towards their door with Sunday and his father following behind. Your parents had already rang the doorbell—now greeted face to face with them as you ran out. Sunday remains close to his father’s side, his cheek resting against his leg while he watches you. Your parents show their gratitude and encourage you to say your thanks and farewells. With a small pinch on his shoulder, Sunday speaks up.
“Bye, I hope we can play again one day.” There was a pout on his face—you swear you saw his lip wobble.
“I hope so too!” You give your final wave as your parents cart you back to the car, setting off as soon as everyone is buckled in.
Inside the house, Sunday sniffles and runs back upstairs, gently closing his room door over. Cuddles and Patchy remain sitting next to each other, and he begins to cry. Tears spill from his eyes at the thought he might not be able to play with you again. After all, you were Robin’s friend first. When Robin is home, you probably won’t even look his way if you come over. That doesn’t remove the memories he made with you from his head though, and he keeps his hope that one day the two of you will reunite and continue to construct Cuddles and Patchy’s future together.

(Name) was an absolute precious little guy, always following one of his dad's when he could and trying to help in the best way he could with such little hands as the two adults tried to include him in their day to day, currently on maternity leave to acclimate (name) better.
"Yaaay! Good job!" Kirishima congratulated (name) as the babe put his plastic bowl in the dishwasher, (name) beaming at this and hugged his dad's neck for comfort "were getting ready to meet some people, they're your aunt's and uncles and are very excited to meet you" when their friends learned if their tiny pup they practically exploded with excitement, mina taking everything within herself to not bust down that door to see the pup.
(Name) held the Dynamite toy close, either that or an old sweater of Kirishimas that the babe saught comfort from, a quick Google search showed Omegan pups saught comfort from their parents items it was early stages of a familial bond settling in.
Bakugo was the one to collect the little one after his nap, the aunts and uncles sitting in the livingroom to meet him "hey squirt, it's time to wake up" they changed the crib to a toddler bed when (name) tried climbing out, the little one starfished with a cute pair of pajamas on "nnh" the boy grunted as Katsuki huffed and gently lifted him "come on you" the boy nuzzling into his dad's shirt as he was brought out to the livingroom "(name), can you say hi?" Katsuki was surprisingly soft with the pup who looked confused and face had marks from the sheets "awww he's so little!" Mina gushed as she stood up and (name) clung to his dad nervously "slowly mina, he's shy" Eijiro said watching his sons movements.
The itty bitty pup looked nervous as Katsuki spoke to him "this is your aunt, she's a bit annoying but she's not gonna hurt you"
Carefully he set (name) down, the boy fidgeting before running to his other dad for protection, the redhead holding his stuffed doll "awww he has a dynamite toy!" Ochaco cooed and they watched (name).
Eventually everyone began chatting and (name) grew more comfortable and began wandering around as he normally did as he noticed the snacks on the table, things the others brought "oh look he's staring at the (treat)" denki snicked as the babe reached out and grabbed a handful, little hands getting messy in the process "well at least he likes it" Momo said as the dad's looked at each other and Katsuki cleaned him up and Eijiro got the boy a small serving "so how's being a parent?" Iida asked as he sipped his tea, glancing at the pup "he keeps trying to make nests everywhere, we don't think he knows what he's doing though" Eijiro chuckled as he let (name) get comfortable in his lap.
Later on came his former teachers + Eri and Shinsou, the two tagging along.
Katsuki saw the two as his own parents, his real parents and him had.. a hard relationship.
His mom and him never got along and when he showed up with Eiji... That went bad fast, he was seventeen at that point.
He hadnt even graduated yet.
His dad loved him but being an Omega, he couldn't really go against his alphas word but did send letters to him in secret.
After that Aizawa stepped up, using his custody over Bakugo and taking care of him and by proxy so did Yamada, the men treating him like a son.
"Hi little listener" Yamada was soft with the pup as Aizawa looked at the two fondly, Eri chatting with kirishima about her classes and her plans to join U.A under recommendations by not one but multiple heroes.
"Oh? Thanks..." Shinsou was awkward around children and when (name) handed him a Cheeto he wasn't expecting it to be so...soggy "you don't gotta eat that, just walk to the kitchen and toss it" kirishima whispered and the other man nodded and did so.
"Hello there" little (name) reached to the black haired man who had the forethought to have his hair put up "you can smell I'm an Omega" Aizawa smiled softly as (name) sniffed his face and bounced slightly "omegas feel calm with other omegas" he explained "safety in numbers sort of deal"
(Name) smushed his face, a silly baby attempt at scenting "I think he thinks I'm apart of his pack"
"Well you are" Eri said simply and everyone smiled at the interaction.
"Minas gonna be pissed that he's getting this and she's not"
When everyone left, (name) was tuckered out "he sure enjoyed those snacks"
"He's so sleepy" kirishima gently traced the boys face "let's get him to bed yeah?"

Autism and Being 'Childish'?
Many traits and things that are common among autistic people are often seen as 'childish' in the neurotypical world.
In reality, these things are incredibly important for the wellbeing of autistic adults and children and helpful in preventing meltdowns/shutdowns/burnout.
They are not something that should be stopped and not at all something that prevents anyone to be trustworthy/ responsible/ amazing at their job, etc.
Also, there is nothing to be ashamed of, because these things being helpful for many are totally awesome.
Some examples
1. having comfort items and being attached to them strongly.
These can be really helpful in overwhelming situations at home, and in public.
2. having 'chidish' special interests.
Special interests, whatever they are, are so much fun and super important for many autistic people.
3. unique fashion rules that might contain 'childish' elements.
For me, it's absolutely true, because in the neurotypical world, colorful things, and cute cartoon figures are often seen as childish, but for me, these are essential when going outside.
4. having a sensory space and playing with toys regularly, like having soft plushies, playing with fidget toys, lining up objects, being mesmerized by pretty lights, etc. Again, these have an important role in autistic self care
5. the autistic joy
The autistic enthusiasm and marveling at the wonders and beauty of the world, and also the way one might express the autistic joy, like jumping around, flapping hands, clapping, etc, these are also mainly associated with children in the neuritypical world, but I take it as a compliment, because for me, these are the probably the best things in being autistic.

what are the personalities of the brabrides kids like? do they exhibit any character traits which have accusers pointing? does brakul see any of his relatives in them?
They're their own people, they don't have much strong or obvious resemblances in personality to their biological parents (they're also very young so learned/absorbed traits will probably emerge later in life).
Livya is 3 years old at this time so still a toddler. As of yet she seems to be a very serious child (had a habit of staring at people with a very stern expression as an infant that has continued through the present). She's reserved around new people and not very talkative, though she'll get very chatty to herself when she's alone or with a few select people (namely Erubi and their housekeeper Odelas' grandchildren). Her main focus in life at this point seems to be following her sister around and constructing elaborate private fantasies with toy animals. Plays alright with other children but gets mad when they're doing it 'wrong' in ways only discernible to her.
She does remind Brakul of his first child a little, though mostly in the sense that the kid came off as a serious baby and had gone on longer than average without starting to speak the last time he saw him.
Erubi is more outgoing and will readily get chatty with adults. She has a tendency to be bossy and competitive and will gleefully announce when she's better at things than someone else. Gets frustrated and pouty when she doesn't 'win' at things. She's not particularly malicious about this, but it still makes her a difficult playmate for most children. VERY high energy. Very impulsive. Accidentally(ish) killed a pet polecat by dropping it out of a window (she couldn't articulate exactly what she was trying to accomplish there) and then cried for days over it. She's regarded as a handful, stubborn and frustrating to manage by people around her on a daily basis, but she tends to be received as charming, precocious, and intelligent.
She actually reminds people of what Janeys and ESPECIALLY Faiza was like at her age, WRT the latter the notion of her being inducted as an Odonii when she gets older has already been floated. (This is largely nepotism and selection tends to be politically motivated, but she fits the profile of a preferable candidate- comes from a significant and connected noble family, healthily robust and intelligent, balancing a delicate line of 'equipped for masculine roles' while not seen as 'masculinized').
Both siblings have a fairly good relationship with fairly typical sibling strains at this point in their lives. Livya seems to want to emulate Erubi and spends a lot of time following her around (with some difficulty). Erubi is usually willing to play with her and assist in her care, but is recently starting to hit the 'annoyed with baby sibling tailing her and getting in the way of her very important, very mature deeds' phase. She was very mad that she couldn't come along on the pilgrimage and had to stay behind with the toddler.
Erubi has some definite behavioral tics she's picked up from parents (harder to tell with Livya at this point). She runs her fingers through her hair when it's unbraided and fidgets with braids like Hibrides. Janeys has, like, the Asuka Langley Soryu stance when he's trying to be commanding (arms crossed or on hips, legs stanced apart, chin up) and she's STRONGLY picked up on that and does it constantly. Does it back to Janeys. It's a sight to see.
She's also picked up a tiny shred of a 'northerner' accent with words she's learned specifically from Brakul, also has figured out she can get a Reaction out of her mother by saying her name with his accent (Hih-Bree-Dez with a long 'bree' and rolled R, rather than Hee-Breh-Dez with a long 'hee'/unrolled R) and at this point isn't too concerned about why this reaction seems to be 'mild horror'.

it will never not be funny to me when i go to a pub or at a house to drink with new people and they see me instantly get my fidget toys out and use them (new people and new environment usually makes me get them out faster) and they're always weirded out but slightly intrigued and as soon as there is alcohol in their system they snatch my fidget toys and keep using them all night (and this is why i always keep multiple ones with me) and when we leave i always make sure to tell them to buy some for themselves since they enjoyed it so much!
i wish fidget toys were more normalized. i mean, they already are, but for children. it's completely different when you're a grown adult in a space where people are not used to seeing fidget toys. but that's what's funny. i have never gone out with people and ended up not sharing my fidget toys.
it took me so long to get rid of the nasty shame that sticks to me whenever i feel the need to use my fidget toys in public, so i can't even imagine how it's like for people who need them but have never even used them.

The decision to take on the responsibility of raising ghouls was risky, but Copia has no regrets. Almost...

— Crap! You've all gotten dirty again...
Copia picked up two small ghouls from their chairs, covered in porridge from head to toe, and dragged them into the bathroom. The day has just begun, and poor Papa Emeritus is already full of problems.
Even sitting in dad's arms, Sodo and Aether managed to fight each other. More precisely, it was mainly Sodo who fought and constantly bared his small fangs, while poor Aether clung to his dad and tried to hide.
Meanwhile, Mountain and Rain looked after the rest of the ghouls, because Swiss and Sunny were also very playful. They liked to run away from their older brothers and hide under the table. But Cumulus and Cirrus took care of dad whenever possible, packing him peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
The little ghouls spent the rest of the day with the adults. And Copia himself worked tirelessly for the benefit of the ministry. He would visit the children during the day, take them to lunch and bedtime, and then leave them again with the other ghouls until the evening.
The rest of the evening Copia was built around taking care of these fidgets and, frankly, at certain moments he wanted to tear his hair out. After dinner, Sodo again began to offend Aether, grinned at him and hissed and took away his toys. Aether had no choice but to hide behind Mountain or Rain. Swiss and Sunny behaved more calmly at this time, mostly doing coloring books or watching cartoons. Cumulus and Cirrus tried to take care of dad and help him in anything if necessary.
Towards nightfall, the four most active ones piled up on one bed and fell asleep. Exhausted, Copia sat in a chair by the fireplace, unable to change clothes or wash the paint off his face. But there were still children who didn’t go to bed, right? They just came to the aid of their beloved daddy.
Mountain held a plate of freshly prepared pasta, Rain made a mug of hot chocolate, and Cumulus and Cirrus brought pajamas and makeup remover. Copia looked up at them with sleepy eyes and smiled faintly.
The guys fed their dad, helped him change clothes and wash off the stubborn paint from his tired face, and then took him to the bedroom. Copia lay down in the middle of the bed, and the small ghouls settled around him. He was telling them a story until he heard a quiet sniffle. And before falling asleep himself, Copia whispered how he loved his little ghouls, how he treasured each of them and how grateful he was to Lucifer for having them.
Well, for the sake of these sweet moments he is ready to endure everything...

Regressor! Retsuko (aka Regressive Retsuko)

The most spoiled princess in the whole world (/nsrs) because Dada doesn’t know how to say no when she feels brave enough to ask for treats at the store, and usually all she wants is attention and cuddles.
Usually somewhere between 3-5 but goes even younger when sick or super stressed
Initially, she thought the whole idea of regressing was pointless and a waste of time, but found herself trying it out when she was living alone. She’d been looking up coping mechanism/stress relievers with Gori and Washimi once, and the topic came up. When she finally told them about it later, she was super stubborn about them babying her, and would whine when they tried, until she eventually just clung to one of them.
Haida is her main caregiver “Dada” but sometimes Washimi “Mimi” and Gori “Roro” babysit. They adore little Retsuko and absolutely SPOIL her.
She regresses bunches, especially at the end of the day after long days of work.
She clings to her caregivers, not ever really feeling safe without them.
Loves watching Haida play video games, and sometimes Dada lets her play some with him like Slime Rancher or Animal Crossing
-He bought her one of those fidget toy game controllers so she can pretend to play when Dada’s playing a game that’s a little too difficult for her. This usually results in her becoming disinterested after an hour or so or she’ll chew on the controller toy.
“Princess” “Little star” “Baby panpan” are her favorites, but her Dada calls her a bunch of silly names. “Goober” “Kiddo” “Squirt”
Contradictory to her online and karaoke presence, she likes being Dada’s little princess with tiaras and cute little dresses. Retsuko is the sweetest little princess ever.
She tends to be a pretty behaved little one, very good at listening and all around just a happy baby. She’s not fussy often.
-Fussy Retsuko is usually the result of too much work and stress, and she’ll be too stubborn to admit she’s regressed/regressing, and this ends in her regressing anyways but still denying it, or finally admitting she’s little and crying into Dada’s shoulder.
Lots of soft toys like plushies from her favorite games and shows
One of her favorite things is to make cookies with her caregivers.
Gori and Washimi take her out shopping often just to spoil and endulge her regression, wanting to buy her more toys, outfits, and pacifiers every time. They always bring her home with bags of new stuff. They’re like the excited aunts who always demand pictures of her in outfits they bought, as well as being the one to take Retsuko out to do super fun stuff.
Loves when Haida sings, especially lullabies. She thinks his guitar playing is one of the best things ever.
Since she’s a red panda, and shorter than most, she has an easier time regressing with them and feeling little.
-She really likes the little play sets meant for kids, like the miniature toy kitchens, and likes to play restaurant with her Dada and sometimes with Mimi and Roro. Oddly enough, for a lot of toys in sizes for larger animals, she fits them perfectly. They sometimes buy toys that would be for lion children because they’re bigger than red pandas, so they actually fit her even though she’s an adult.
She carries her pink blankie around like she’ll die if she doesn’t.
Even though she’s little, she likes to listen to her ‘big girl music’ that helps with stress relief as well. (It’s okay to listen to big kid music when you’re little, at least just some to an extent!)
Teethes ALOT and has to have teether toys, even at work
Retsuko will insist on sleeping next to Haida often, even if he sleeps on the couch. She will climb out of bed and drag Haida to it if she has too, wanting to sleep on his chest.
“Hmmm
Retsuko?” Haida asks tiredly, feeling a tug on his sleeve. Retsuko whines, wobbling a bit as she tries to pull him up now. Her footing was unsteady, her socked paws slipping a bit. “Dada! Bed!” She whined, not asking, but demanding. The hyena laughed tiredly, sitting up on the couch. Retsuko just continued pulling his hand, whining more and more. She loses her footing, and almost falls down onto her bottom, but Dada, being as cool and awesome as he is, caught her before she could fall. “Alright goober, let’s get YOU to bed, yeah?” Retsuko whined at him, but was glad they were going to bed now, holding onto his shoulders as she was held now.
When she regresses from large amounts of stress or genuine trauma, like the big event at the end of season 3, she just lays in her caregivers’ laps and cries until she falls asleep. She hates doing it and is ashamed with herself when it’s over. She feels embarrassed about getting extremely upset and the first thing she wants is to wear a pink onsie, get her paci, and cry into someone’s shoulder.
She is very embarrassed to do so, but she has a Seiya plushie she carries around and cuddles all the time.
She’s regressed at work a few times, and immediately calls Gori and/or Washimi for help because she genuinely can’t mask her regression.
Alcohol is not allowed to be consumed by or in front of her when little, she will whine and try to make her regression to have some. Even when she is allowed to have some when big, she will cry and regress afterwards if she has too much, and it’s not fun for anybody involved.
Loves being read to, but enjoys Haida’s stories he makes up much more. Sometimes they’ll draw together, and he’ll draw out one of his stories for her in little doodles.
Retsuko likes to crawl alot, but since she’s substantially shorter than Haida, he likes to ‘help her walk’ by holding her hands and letting her waddle with his help. Even if it’s a little silly, she giggles the whole time.
“Look at my little princess go! Walking like such a big girl!” Haida praises as she waddles through the bedroom, holding one of his pointer fingers in each hand. “Dada! I walkin!” She giggles as she takes another wobbly step, her socked paw taking another step forward, making her giggle even more. Haida’s tail wagged excitedly, proud of his little Retsuko. “You’re doing so good princess!”
(Sorry this one’s a little short guys, I’m gonna try to keep these a bit shorter so I can post more, but I’m pushing for a minimum of 25 headcanons every post like this, including the little mini stories. I’m trying to do more, and I tend to do a lot more for characters I’m super duper passionate about, but I’m sorry for the shorter posts guys)

Anyone else ever get frustrated at how a lot of autism and sensory related things are made for children? Sensory toys, fidgets, earmuffs, etc are always marketed as being for kids/babies. I got so excited when I found a site making "sensory/fidget friendly clothing", only to find almost everything was made only for kids. I even saw a sort of "sensory gym" thing that looked great, but you go to their website and its only for kids. I'm small, I enjoy kid-related things, but come on. Autistic kids grow into autistic adults.

anon i promised myself i would never talk about this subject on tumblr yet here we are

ok i have to preface this by saying a couple things for clarifications
i DO NOT fuck with sexualizing age regression or ageplay!!!!
that being said, somebody can age regress sometimes and still be a grown adult with dick and balls who has sex! but they are entirely separate from one another!
i dont really, like.... fully understand age regression, i guess? i dont understand the difference between age regression, age play, and just enjoying kid stuff(age dreaming?). like is it a specific headspace? is it a form of dissociation? how do you know if you're regressing or just pretending, or are those the same thing? my ignorance may show in my headcanons so sorry
my headcanons for mickey are based on my own experiences. so although i don't know anything about what i just listed above, i do know that personally i really like a lot of kid stuff and it definitely is because of my childhood trauma and my (assumed) autism. and obviously mickey has a lot of childhood trauma, and hes autistic imo. so that's really the only scope of reference i have for this 😭
autistic people are not inherently childish or lack certain skills just because they consume a lot of child media. anybody who enjoys kid stuff or age regresses is automatically doing that 24/7 and unable to exist in adult spaces. and even if they are like that, that's nobody's business but theirs. but obviously mickey doesn't do this 24/7, and i don't think he would enjoy doing it all the time anyway. autistic people like children's media because its usually created to have an easily understandable premise, visually stimulating, have very concise pacing, understandable character motivations, and conflicts are resolved efficiently. it's something straightforward to watch, read, or play when the world doesn't make any sense and overwhelms us
i do not view age regression/ageplay/age dreaming in this context as mickey having did/a little alter. most of the content ive seen about agereg seems to view it as a form of dissociation, and while it can be that, i think writers are doing this accidentally because they don't really understand how dissociation works. and again, this is just based on my experience and understanding, and i don't dissociate at all when i consume children's media. i just enjoy it that's really only how deep it goes i just like it lol
ive mentioned both of these many many times before but mickey has fidget toys and plushies. he especially uses chewelry/teethers, bike chain fidgets, mechanical fidgets, tangles, spinner rings, weighted blankets and plushies, and jellycat/squishables/aurora/douglas/plushie dreadful. he also has a color changing lamp with multiple brightness settings that he likes to sit by/stare at
he likes to draw and color. he doesn't read because he struggles with it and it's not relaxing at all to read. he eats "boring" tasting food for the texture, like freeze dried yogurt and puffed rice. ian has to watch him and redirect him when he eats otherwise he'll just keep eating and eating just to chew on something. he likes chewing gum but it hurts his jaw if he does it too much.
he rewatches a lot of shows from his childhood. ghostwriter, zoboomafoo, magic school bus, bill nye. he also saw a lot of older shows and movies because they were recorded on vhs tapes in their house, or they were reruns on their free-to-run tv. electric company, zoom, little audrey, romper room, felix the cat, speed racer, space ghost. he really likes to watch old westerns and gangster movies. it really just depends on how "small" hes feeling. he also likes bluey, avatar the last airbender, and a lot of the classic cartoon network shows. hes watched a lot of peppa pig but thats only because franny is obsessed and watches it every day. he shows freddie speed racer because he has a racecar/hotwheels obsession
when hes regressed, ian will not do couple-y thing with him. he won't kiss his mouth, talk about adult topics with him, touch him inappropriately, none of it. he doesnt want his role as a romantic and sexual partner to be equated to his role as caregiver
mickey doesnt need help using the bathroom or bathing beyond being reminded when to do it. he usually becomes nonverbal though. communicating doesn't really happen beyond a few words when he has to respond to ian. he also stims a lot more and generally is unmasked in this state. ian doesn't want to disturb him, but he also wants to use the chance to get mickey to do some new things while he's relaxed. he gets mickey to help him prepare dinner, pick out colors for house decor, takes him in public with his headphones (mickey usually hates wearing them in public because he thinks he looks stupid + he can't hear much around him). ian would take him more places like the zoo and museums, but it's usually too crowded and he knows it would sour the experience for mickey
mickey is overall much more.... soft and pliant in this state. he can definitely have a meltdown, but he's usually pretty chill as long as he's at home and doesn't have any errands to worry about

In patients aged < 17 years, ≄ 6 symptoms are necessary; in those aged ≄ 17 years, ≄ 5 symptoms are necessary. Symptoms present prior to age 12 years. Symptoms not better accounted for by a different psychiatric disorder. Symptoms may be classified as mild, moderate, or severe based on symptom severity.
Hyperactive type - ADHD-H

Changes made in the DSM-5 update:
Overall, the revised diagnostic criteria of the DSM-5 do not fundamentally change the concept of ADHD. However, the definition of the disorder has been updated, to more accurately characterise adults affected by ADHD. In all previous versions, ADHD was depicted as a disorder affecting mainly children, and to a lesser extent adolescents, but not adults. Hence, the wording of the 18 symptoms, and corresponding examples, was appropriate for assessing mainly school-age children. With the DSM-5, efforts have been made to more appropriately guide clinicians when assessing adult ADHD. These changes are based on two decades of research, which show that, although ADHD is a childhood-onset disorder, the core symptoms and resulting impairments can persist into adulthood, and continue to have a significant impact on everyday life. Mild ADHD is defined as having no, or only a few, symptoms in excess of those required for making the diagnosis. At the other end of the spectrum, severe ADHD requires either many symptoms in excess of the minimum required, several very severe present symptoms or a very high degree of social or occupational impairment. Individuals with moderate ADHD are between the two extremes, either in terms of the number of ADHD symptoms or the level of impairment. Although this initiative is praiseworthy, in that it defines terms that are already in use but lack specifications, the definitions are not particularly specific or operationalised. It could also be argued that adults with persisting ADHD may have a more severe form of the disorder; this has not been incorporated in the definitions of severity, despite the fact that adults with ADHD often have more problematic outcomes.

Discussion of terms:
Fidgets: picking at the skin around fingernails, tapping fingers/bouncing leg, tipping chairs, changing seating position frequently (more than once every ten minutes is too much), stimming, using a fidget toy, touching face, doodling, etc
Restlessness: the feeling of wanting to move, change activities, get up, or struggling to be satisfied by doing the same thing.
"driven by a motor" phrases: basically not wanting to take breaks because it'll be distracting, as far as I can tell. Busy as a bee, etc. Not wanting to (or being able to, or noticing) pause while speaking, not wanting to speak to someone while walking to something else despite being in no rush, etc.
Listening skills: paying attention without needing to doodle or imagining funny scenarios in your head the whole time. Might include being able to answer questions when asked about what they were listening to, responding when prompted, and looking in the person's general vicinity.
Unimportant stimuli: things not related to what someone *should* be focused on. Like if you're in school and you're distracted by a bus going by out the window, or if you get distracted by the sound the lights make while trying to focus on what the cashier is saying.
Daily activities: eating, sleeping, using the bathroom, doing chores (sweeping, laundry, shopping), getting dressed, etc
Completes schoolwork: includes answering every question you know the answer to, fully, and doing all the steps to questions as well as filling in required fields like name/date/etc.
Thoughtless mistakes: typos, spelling your name wrong, wrong fonts, forgetting to attach the bibliography, doing basic addition wrong on an algebra problem, etc.
In many of self-scorers there are questions like: "How often do you have problems remembering appointments or obligations?"
This is a very "but I have a system!" question. It might help to understand the neurotypical expeirence here.
Neurotypicals do not struggle to remember appointments, unless they have so many of them that it would be difficult for anyone to keep track of. If they have one appointment this week, they are not setting eight alarms or putting stickynotes everywhere. They say "oh! I have an appointment." And then go to that appointment. That's it. It doesn't take a lot of energy to remember. They don't have to repeat it in their head every chance they get to remember it. They haven't tried three different planner systems in the past year or struggle to stay with them. They don't religiously check google calendar every day. They simply know they have an appointment, and (assuming nothing weird like they're a secretary managing 9 clients or they got a cold) they remember it. All of these questions are pretty much like this. If you've had to struggle to do something most of the time and still fail, the answer is you have problems "most of the time." It's not the amount of times you have failed to remember.
ADHD community terms
Executive dysfunction
Not specific to ADHD, this term describes something that both people with depression and people with ADHD struggle with (though often for different reasons). People with ADHD tend to put off tasks until the last minute, struggle to finish things, and have a difficulty doing something when they need to. It can have a severe impact on someone with ADHD and their ability to do things in their daily life. Having executive dysfunction is one of the (many) reasons why ADHD is considered a disability.
One person (Dr. Russell Barkley) has a theory that ADHD should be reclassified to be a disorder of executive dysfunction, but aside from being a useful tool to understand ADHD it doesn't explain many of the other symptoms or why they are presented the way they are. In particular: it doesn't explain many of the concepts that folks with ADHD have developed to talk about our experiences with each other, and how folks with ADHD tend to have less issues with executive dysfunction in settings where openly expressing ADHD symptoms is perfectly fine. It also understands ADHD through the lens of a disorder that's wholly maladaptive and dysfunctional, an understanding not shared by everyone in the community.
Neurodivergent
This is a term coined primarily by the autistic community. It describes autism (and other types of neurodivergence, things that diverge from the norm/"the typical" aka neurotypical) outside of the idea of the medical model. [Autistics in particular has faced a lot of inhumane treatment in schools and by the psychiatric system under abusive (and legal) things like ABA (applied behavioral analysis) and shock therapy. Autistics have fought for the right to openly stim, to not make eye contact, and to communicate while being non-speaking for decades. This has pushed back against the medicalization of autism, and the process of diagnosis not involving autistics in the creation of the criteria or what treatments (if any) should be approved for autistics.] This overall philosophy promotes the idea that neurodivergent people should not be stigmatized, and should exist as equal members of society regardless of how their symptoms present.
People with ADHD were early adopters of this concept (maybe because of the high rates of comobidity of autism and adhd). As a result, many of the concepts feature heavily in the language and strategies for ADHD- especially online. Along with alternative methods of orgnization (many small trash cans, two laundry bins, etc), you'll often find people with ADHD discussing stim toys and things like that.
Hyperfocus/hyperfixation
Hyperfocus describes one aspect of difficulty regulating focus. Basically: during hyperfocus a person struggles to pay attention to things outside of the thing that's taking up their attention.
More specifically they lose awareness of signals like hunger, exhaustion, the need to pee, and can even struggle to hear someone calling for their attention. If they do try to stop focusing on the thing they're focused on, they might still struggle to pay attention- even as they try to hold a conversation or go make a meal, they might be distracted by thoughts about the thing they were focused on before. This might lead to doing things incorrectly (like putting on shoes without socks or putting toothpaste in the freezer). With such acute focus someone with adhd can create art quickly with a lot of detail, discover a lot of information on a topic, and even learn new practical skills. It can also provide a lot of joy and accomplishment to someone, and improve self confidence.
A hyperfixation is the subject of hyperfocus, either once (hours) or over longer period of time (weeks, months, years). It can be anything from abstract (like a favorite subject) to specific and grounded in reality (like a hobby), or broad (a time period) to specific (a particular beetle).
Hyperfixation was a term coined by the ADHD community to describe an experience that wasn't described in the medical literature about us that needed terminology. Hyperfocus is also an experience that is really important to folks with ADHD because it's often wrapped up in the "twice exceptional" narrative many people experience- having both amazing talents and terrible grades in subjects that don't interest them. On top of that, neurotypical adults treat kids with ADHD hyperfocusing as doing something wrong and punish them, when what they're doing is perfectly fine and isn't hurting anyone. A greater understanding of this concept has helped people work with how their mind works, rather than try to resist it and be "normal."

get you information together, like insurance, debit, and credit card information. They will ask you for your full name, your date of birth, your insurance information, any pre-existing conditions, your availability
find a local low/no-cost neuropsych testing facility near you. If you're currently in school, you're in luck! Many will refer you out to a low/no-cost testing facility. (Either way, the result is the same: these can be universities teaching students studying neuro-psychiatry, state sponsored programs, and more. Here's a solid comprehensive guide on getting low cost testing, as well as managing the costs associated with ADHD).
make it known that you would like to be assessed for ADHD to have it ruled out. That is the specific phrasing that you should use with everyone- do not claim you think you have anything, simply that you're concerned and wish to be assessed. Talk to your therapist, your parents, your pcp, your teacher- whoever it makes sense to contact, based on your prior research. If you were unable to find anything, then contacting the people who might have better access to information like your therapist or teacher would be best. (If you're not yet in therapy, getting into therapy would be a good idea.)
If all else fails, contact your insurance (if you have it). Testing can cost a lot of money and might not be worth the expense. You're still welcome in the ADHD community regardless of being diagnosed or not.
If you go to get assessed, here's what to expect:
you will likely have to fill out self scorers for lots of things, including things that don't apply to your situation like mood disorder evaluations to rule of depression. Your answers on these should not affect how you will be diagnosed with ADHD.
there will be a lot of weird things in full neuropsych evaluations, like repeating words back to them, or playing with blocks, or drawing shapes
they will pay attention to how you act in the room, so don't resist the impulse to fidget and feel free to ask to get up or take a break after an exercise
it may last under sixty minutes, but with a student it could take longer. I have 4+ hour sessions twice a week for a month, but not everyone has such an extreme experience (they had last minute additions that went beyond ADHD testing).
Tips for the day of testing:
do not bring your best self. Leave your best self at home. They need to see you at your usual or your worst to make an accurate assessment.
bring water. You will be talking a lot.
some information can help, like recent test performance and last semester teacher comments
comfortable clothing is best. T-shirt and jeans are totally fine.
prepare to be totally out of it when you leave, by bringing a snack or having someone you trust pick you up. It's mentally exhausting and makes you do all the things you avoid because they suck.
A neuropsych (or any type of ADHD evaluation) can help you get access to things you might not normally get, like medication (stimulants, typically), accommodations, and recommendations to your therapist about what to work on. It also can be shared with doctors and other therapists in the future so you don't have to worry about someone questioning your need for whatever it is they helped you get in the first place (like accommodations, etc).
Accommodations
In order to request accommodations through most colleges, you need a letter from a therapist of some kind requesting an accommodation in writing. Getting diagnosed for ADHD helps with this. Some accommodations you can request include:
time and a half on tests and quizzes
extensions of papers and projects
alternative assignments (i.e. oral exam over essays, different topics, etc)
excused absences
a notetaker
audio and/or video recordings of lectures
laptops in classes that don't ordinarily allow laptops
snacks in classes that don't ordinarily allow snacks (unless it poses a safety hazard, like in labs)
stim toys in class
