[(A/N)]: Hi everyone. It’s been a while since I last posted any content here. Things got busy IRL and also put up some content on my main blog. I’m sorry I didn’t warn anyone about my sudden break. Anywho, I wrote another MC/Yuu variant twisted from Ice Nine Kills (the vibe of the band).

To begin this journey, there is a hidden grave deep in the forest behind Night Raven College. Nobody has visited that very spot as their families have either passed or moved far away.
The etchings of the tombstone reads…
“Here Lies [Y/N]/MC/Yuu [L/N]”
“You Left Too Soon”
“Therefore If A Miracle Happens, Doom Will Be In Tune”
Then one night as the Dorm Sorting Ceremony, a storm occurs with lightning striking down.
Then, a strike hits the unbothered grave, electrocuting the fencing that protected the grave from trespasser and the ground shakes as a resurrection happens.
[The ground cracks open as a coffin unveils its lid and reveals a well-preserved corpse.]
I.N.K.!MC/Yuu/[Reader]: *Yawns from their supposed eternal slumber* That was a long nap…Why am I in a coffin?
[The living corpse leaves their disturbed burial and walks aimlessly out of the forest, unintentionally leading themselves to the NRC building.]
I.N.K.!MC/Yuu/[Reader]: I don’t remember much, but this place…
[Then a voice boomed across the hall to grab MC/Yuu’s attention.]
Crowley: *From afar* You! Why are not at the ceremony?
I.N.K.!MC/Yuu/[Reader]: I beg your pardon.
Crowley: *Closing the distance between him and MC/Yuu* I asked what…are…you… *Stops dead at his tracks* You…How?
I.N.K.!MC/Yuu: Old man, I don’t know what kind of ceremony is happening but I remember now. I’m already an NRC student.
[And so, after the ceremony ended, Crowley gathered the Staff members and explained they have a student returned from the dead. They weren’t pleased by this sudden information. In the meantime, MC/Yuu will have to start NRC again as a first year student and they were transferred to the infamous Ramshackle Dormitory.]

I appreciate your calm-the-fuck-down post a lot, ngl - from following you, I've seen you have a pretty good handle on understanding what ToS does and doesn't say, and are good at explaining the difference - and I was hoping you could give some insight on whether or not the actually clicking the 'I agree to terms of service' button (note: multi-step process) required to turn off the New! flag makes a difference in the level of data collected - I would expect at the very least it would act as a gateway for whether or not user data is shared with the third party integration, but legalese isn't my field of study.
Agreeing to the ToS to get the little notification thing to turn off would allow tumblr live to share the data that it collects with 3rd party apps and would allow tumblr live to collect location data from your device whether or not you are actively using the app; whether you want to do this is up to you. I do generally recommend having location tracking shut off at a device level, which makes this data collection pretty useless, but I recognize that most people don't have location tracking turned off on their phones.
*HOWEVER*
People are talking about doing this to turn off the New! flag (which IS very annoying) but the most recent post from @changes makes it clear that that is an ongoing bug they are working on; Tumblr has been pretty decent recently about following up on the info they post about on the changes blog and I see no reason to believe that they won't get that bug fixed pretty quickly.
Rather than agree to the ToS I would suggest waiting a few days because I very much doubt that will stick around for long.
And this is not directed at you but I want to use this ask to point to another recent example of tumblr conspiracism: people are seeing the "new" flag as tumblr attempting to force users to agree to the live ToS even as they have offered a longer snooze period and saying that one negates the other - this is being interpreted as malice and a dark pattern and user hostile design.
And I just want to remind people that some time between eight months and a year and a half ago the notifications changed and it was briefly impossible to clear the new flag on the notification button - this is an issue that we've seen tumblr have before with "new" flags after they changed a feature. It's something that people yelled about and sent around guides for blocking the element. It's something that was addressed quickly and was done unintentionally.
I really wish people would stop attributing to malice the bullshit that happens at tumblr that is clearly the result of this website being hilariously broken and held together with hope and chewing gum.
There are ways in which this site is broken that does genuine harm and I'm willing to be cautiously optimistic that the new staff crew is taking steps to fix it (this is about blocked tags; I've been following what various staff members say about this and I have seen small positive steps, staff does seem to be making an effort to unfuck the tags and I can respect that while still being frustrated that it's taking so long). It isn't *good* that the site is held together with chewing gum and hope but it does seem like staff is at least trying to add some popsicle sticks and duct tape to that mix.
The new flag is annoying and I hope they get it fixed quickly and I believe they actually will get it fixed quickly; if you're really bothered by it there's not much harm in accepting the live ToS because the data collected by tumblr live is still pretty minimal compared to most other social media apps, but from a paranoid "fuck all this bullshit" perspective accepting the Live TOS doesn't do much harm at all if you have location data off on your devices (which I think everyone should) and use adblockers (which I think everyone should).

It was Gojo who started it. It was always Gojo.
It all began at 6 am on a Tuesday. It was winter, and still somewhat dark outside. The grey curtains obscured most of the light in the room, even during daylight hours, as Nanami preferred. His sleep ritual was a religiously observed one; one that suffered no interference.
Until today.
He rolled over, breath rushing out of his nostrils in a confused huff, one bare arm pushing out of the warmth and comfort of the blankets as his phone buzzed insistently on the nightstand. Fumbling slightly, he slapped at it to turn off his alarm. It silenced briefly before lighting up and thrumming once again.
"What - "
He snatched the phone up, glaring blearily at it through sleep-fogged eyes. It was a full hour before he was due to wake up, so what was going on? Had he set his alarm incorrectly? Impossible.
Nanami sat up, giving up the ghost of a restful sleep, brushing tangled blonde hair out of his eyes. He blinked hard, then focused on the too-bright screen.
A message? From Gojo, no less. It must be some kind of emergency.
Now completely awake, Nanami threw off the blankets, swinging his legs out of bed. The floorboards were cold under his feet and he hurriedly shoved them into warm slippers. He was about to enter the bathroom, fingers sliding over the screen as he opened Gojo's message.
He stopped dead in his tracks.
A stylized rabbit, dressed in a sparkling tutu and fishnet stockings, hopped across his screen. It paused to wiggle its bushy tail (somewhat inappropriately) before turning around and simpering at Nanami, doe-like eyes surrounded by thick lashes. It blew him a kiss, and more shiny sparkles emitted from its despicable snout, forming the words:
GOOD MORNING HANDSOME!
Nanami was a man of discipline, a man of dignity and great self control. That certainly didn't stop him from flinging his phone across the room like an angry toddler. It bounced off his pillow and landed face up, revealing the rabbit slowly slipping off a stocking and revealing a paw shaped like a heart.

The real question was, of course, if Gojo was going to get away with it. Not on Nanami's watch.
One could speculate that he was being petty. What was one little good morning message in the bigger scheme of things anyway? But this was not how Nanami saw it, oh no. His morning routine was sacred, unassailable. And when it was attacked, he would double down like a math teacher being told that there would be no more geometry on the curriculum.
And so, he bided his time.
The perfect opportunity arrived when Gojo left his phone (careless and casual) on the table in the staff lounge while he went to check on his first years on the training field.
As soon as Gojo exited, a rustle came from the shadowed chair in the corner as a newspaper was lowered. The dim light glinted off a pair of gimlet-eyed dark glasses. The owner of said shades rose slowly, adjusting his suit jacket.
He approached the table, gently grasping Gojo's phone, one finger deftly tracing the correct pattern to unlock the screen. He had been watching, you see.
A quick search through the 'gallery' revealed an entire folder of those same sparkly, hair-raising, fingernails-on-the-blackboard type good morning messages. So Gojo had been busy, it seemed.
A casual scroll through the messaging app revealed that Nanami hadn't been the only victim. Ijichi was there, begging to be left alone at 4 am. Shoko was there, swearing with some choice, and lovely, words. Even Megumi hadn't escaped unscathed, sending a single flat-mouthed, unamused emoji in response to his message (which featured bagpipe music overlaid on a screeching seagull call).
But Nanami hadn't planned this far just to leave things as they were.
He found the contacts of each of the higher-ups, adding them all to a common group. Nanami hummed slightly before naming the group 'Gojo's Gumdrops'. Once the group had been formed, he typed the following message:
Hey guyz! It's me, ur friendly neighborhood Satowu. So, I've been thinking, and ... I guess I've been extra hard on y'all. Getting new students really made me think about how the elders of our society are treated. Someday, I may even be in ur position, getting rubbed the wrong way by some powerful young upstart.
So here's my way of saying: Sorryyy. Soooo sad, made ya mad. And all that jazz.
But for real, I'm sorry. So I made this group for our daily positive affirmations. I'll start by sending this super duper cutesy wutesy good morning text, since some of u sleepyheads only rattle outta bed at 10.
Hit me up with allllll ur shiny goodness! I'm a sucker for positivity!
Nodding grimly, Nanami hit 'send', exited the app and placed the phone exactly as he'd found it. Straightening his tie, he strode briskly out of the room, a small smile lifting the corner of his mouth as the phone on the table began to buzz almost immediately.
Revenge was a dish best served sparkly.

Alright, so… here’s the sitch… I was trying to screenshot an ad that absolutely beyond disgusts me so I could tag @staff and find out why the hell it’s allowed (that one evony ad that depicts harming an endangered species of animal iykyk) and when I saw it on my feed my immediate response (audibly) was “Oh hell no.” Now, I use an iPhone and one of the things that pops up when opening an app for the first time is the option to opt out of data tracking. I always click “Do Not Track” because my daily device is my work device too and I work in a sensitive field handling sensitive information (literal trade secrets). After my phone or tumblr or both “heard” my reaction to seeing the ad, my feed updated by jumping a bit further down. Scrolling back up revealed that the ad was removed and I’m now only getting the barely noticeable banner ads. This situation has revealed a lot to me as someone who works in software and web development. It’s that, despite requirements to comply with a user’s request (which is generous since clicking the button I do acts as an opt out), either Tumblr or Apple is not complying with my opt out and is still collecting data I did not consent to. Now this is an issue not only because it’s an invasion of my privacy, but also because a company or companies I have denied access to for data harvesting is literally stealing trade secrets which is illegal. Technically both of the things happening is illegal because both the US and EU require companies to comply with cookie opt outs as well as tracking/data harvesting opt outs filed by consumers. That’s what I did when I pressed “Do Not Track” when I open the app (not just for the first time either. It keeps asking me every time I open Tumblr and every time I deny it.)
So, @staff, would you care to explain? Surely this was a mistake and I have no need to contact the BBB and FTC?

After the first kiss, in the morning, his lips were still tingly, and you could taste the traces of cool mint toothpaste. He’d rolled from bed before you, up early for treatment, which may have sabotaged things from the start.
“You changed it?”
“Changed what?” He asked from the wardrobe, pulling his training kit top overhead.
“The toothpaste. It was cinnamon before, now it’s mint.”
“We were runnin out.” He shrugged. “But I didn’t mean to wake you. Be back around three later.”
You nodded, trying to shake the sleep from your body. “I probably won’t get out from the lab until six. So may I have another kiss, please? A proper one.”
“Needy girl” Emile tutted, but leaned down to meet you anyway, trying not to smile. You held on, turning his one soft peck into two more, and then holding your mouth to his, muffling his sound of surprise.
“I’ve gotta go, bab— baby, mm–”
“I know, just one — more.” You pulled back, with a deep sigh and Emile’s hand somehow tangled in the back of your sleep scarf. “There. Have a good day.”
When he stepped out the door, gently touching his mouth, you flopped back down on the bed. Grabbing your phone from the nightstand, you opened the notes app, and typed away.

The drive from the lab to Colney was a quick one, and you caught Emile just before lunch finished. He sat in the passenger seat with a smoothie in hand and questions in his eyes.
“What? I wanted to see you. Ain’t that allowed?”
His face was still frost-bitten from the cold, and his lips were redder than ever as they split around a smirk.
“Yeah. Just weren’t expecting you, is all.”
“Well, here I am. How’s the day going?”
You turned toward him in the seat, tuned in as he began the story of how he'd nutmegged Bukayo twice in the same rondo and then got him again later during five aside. You wrapped a hand behind the back of his neck, rubbing into the tendons as he mentioned his lack of playing time, and the frustrating conversations he’d had with the coaching staff concerning it. The hand moved around to cup his chin, thumb moving over his bottom lip when he’d finished speaking.
“Your lips are still so cold, Emi. Let me warm them up.”
“What?” You had leaned over the center console, bringing your other hand to catch along his cheek. “What do you mean?”
“I’m saying can I kiss you?”
“I mean,” Emile licked his lips, eyes darting around the empty training lot. “I mean, yeah.”
You grinned and leaned in, bringing your mouths together gently. A few brushes of tongue later, things were not so gentle, and you hummed when his hands came to grip around your waist, pulling you towards his lap.
“Hold on, this is mad,” He breathed. “Feel like I’m back in year 11.”
“You were snogging girls in the car in year 11?”
“Nah, no,” He kissed your cheek once, fingers still pressed into your hip. “Never. Was straight on football.”
“Right, whatever you say.” You had released him, and settled back into your seat. “How much time until you need to be back?”
“Like 15 minutes. But under 18s will be on that field right there in like five.”
“Okay,” You snuck one more kiss to the corner of his mouth, then revisited the notes app, while Emile checked his cheeks for lip gloss marks, and tried to regulate his breathing. “Tell me about the nutmeg again?”

By the time Emile disentangled himself from the final kiss, the fifth of the last five minutes, the twentieth of the day, he had developed some concerns. But they didn’t stop his chest from thumping, or blood from spreading warm through his veins, coloring his cheeks a rose tint that matched his lips. He licked over them once, and your eyes tracked the movement.
“Are you alright, babes? You’re mad … affectionate, today.”
“What you mean?” You questioned, halfhearted, already arcing back in towards his mouth. The wood of the dining chair creaked beneath your combined weight, finished dinner plates catching the overhead light.
“It’s just—“ He took a deep breath, trying to repress the tingles shooting down his spine from your nails along his collarbone. “You been sort of – all over me, innit. All day.”
“It’s a problem, then?” You frowned, your chests still pressed together, and noticing your own face was hot, around your ears and down through to your chest.
“Nah! No! Not at all, I’m just,” You pressed your lips to a spot just under his ear, and then his chin. “I was just sayin. An observation, you know.”
“Well, if you must know, it’s–” Your mind whirred, searching for some explanation beyond ‘I’m kind of obsessed with your lips’ or ‘I might be addicted to kissing you’. “It’s for science. Yeah, it’s all purely empirical. Wanted to know … when the best time to kiss you is– in the morning, afternoon, or night.”
You trailed a line of them along his jaw while you spoke, and felt him shiver.
“For science” he echoed, distracted but thinking back through the events of the day, and your generally nerdy tendencies, and saw how it made sense.
He didn’t, however, answer beyond that, as he was caught up again in the warm slide of your mouth. When he could, he cursed, and let out a shaky breath.
“S’like an experiment, innit.”
“Precisely.”
“So what’s the results?”
“Huh?” You asked, thoughts gone hazy, and bordering on annoyed at the continued gap between your mouth and his.
“The results of your experiment. When’s the best time?”
“Oh, um …” You bit your lip, not wanting to break the heated embrace to find your phone. The answer was simple anyway - all the day’s data pointed to one conclusion. “All the time. It’s always a good time to kiss you.”
Emile laughed, blushing an even darker pink, and sliding his hands up your thighs, “Yeah?”
“Yeah. But what do you think?”
He met your eyes, his baby blues full of amusement, and love, and something more. Then he stood up from the chair, carrying you along with him.
“Think I’ve got an idea for experiment number two.”
