Request by @shadownyxexe - hey so um im not sure if you can see this and i for some reason cant see if your requests are open so i just wanted to try this but i wanted to know if you had the time to write a headcanon about how the karasuno team whould react to an overseas childhood friend of kiyoko reader were there either korean filipino or american and when tukishima tries to insult them they straight up verbally distroy him but they directly apologize because they felt bad. you dont need to make something like this its just i wanted to test some stuff out since im pretty new here so ya thanks bye :)

Suga smiled , " Yeah Shimizu. It would help us understand them better. "

She sighed, pushing the glasses up the bridge of her nose, "They're American, born here but brought up there. Most of their personality reflects the said foreign culture. They're shifting here as a foreign exchange student in first year. It might be a bit difficult to understand their accent, but do. not. make it obvious if that's the case. And-"

The doors swung open, waking in was a mesmerizing figure. "Kiyoko-San! "

"What the-oof-! " Shimizu was tackled in an unexpectedly hard hug.

"I-I can't breathe-" You pulled away sheepishly, "My bad... "

Soon enough the new entrance was encircled with a group of dashing boys. You waved at them, " Shimizu-San mentioned about ya all. Name's (Y/n)! Pleasure to meet uh all! " You smiled warmly.

Instead of a greeting back, you heard a, "You're so damn pretty!! " You looked over to the two short boys, slight warmth engulfing you at the compliment. "T-Thank you. You are...? "

"Right! I'm Hinata and this is my buddy Nishinoya. " You smiled and soon everyone started introducing themselves. Suffice to say everyone was a lot more kinder and sweet to you than you thought.

"I'm Sugawara. A third year. You can come to me if you need help around here."

You bowed slightly," I'll be in your care then Sugawara-San. Am grateful. " You both smiled and soon your eyes drifted off at the corner.

"Umm... who's that..? " Suga looked behind him before looking at you again. "Oh that's Tsukishima. A first year. But I think you shouldn't get involved with him to-" Before he finished, you were gone.

"Hey! Tsukishima right? " You smiled lightly with your hands behind your back. He stood silently, ignoring you. "'s there somethin wrong..? Do ya not like me or something? " "Damn right I don't so leave me alone. " voice holding venom as he started making his way away from you, purposely bumping your shoulder.

You arked, "The hell's yer problem huh? " Your voice rose a little.

At a distance, Kageyama and Hinata gave each other a silent look that said, "Uh-Oh"

Asahi was about to make his way towards you both when Kiyoko stopped him. "They can handle themselves don't worry. "

Tsukishima turned around," 'The hell's yer problem huh? ' " He mocked as your fist clenched "Can you fucking leave me alone? I was having a wonderful time until your disturbing American self who can't even speak our language properly freaking disrupted it. " Salt dripped with each word of his and so did your patience with each passing second. Your jaw clenched, "Don't approach me. I don't have time to show a lost puppy around here like everyone else. " He turned around, silence engulfing the court when your silent words rang. " You think ya look cool with that attitude of yer's don't uh? "

He turned around slightly, eyebrow raised as you laughed slightly. Kiyoko silently mumbled, "He's dead. " as other members looked at her with wide eyes. "You six-one godforsaken pine tree. " Your figure stormed towards him, looking at him with steely eyes. "Listen here ya shit. I don't fucking care what that peanut sized brain of yer thinks. Do. Not. try and give me yer stupid shit when I'm being nice to uh. You think you're slick? What? You think I don't know about yer little dinosaur fetish huh? " His eyes widened , " What? Think you're the only verbal president here that can mock someone and their habit with words? Think you can just walk round like a dog without leash going on and spatting shit on everyone? Well guess what fucker, I'm not gonna hear about your bullshit so get that through your thick skull. "

Silence was once again the only thing in the room as the doors to the gym closed as you stormed out. Everyone was stunned, too amazed yet awkward to speak. Only came a mumble from in between the crowd, " They destroyed him." Kei's figure approached his team's manager, his words strangely quite, "We should start practicing. "

It was only about an hour later when you were sitting on the benchers, guilt overcoming you waves after waves for the past hour. 'I went too far didn't I...? I shouldn't have said all that.... '

The door to the gym once again opened as everyone turned around, looking at your quite figure walking inside, head towards the floor and hands behind your back. The practice stopped as Kiyoko approached you. "Can I talk to him? " You voice was quite and without needing an explanation, she nodded understandingly. There he was now standing in front of you and before he could ask you what was up, you quickly extended your hands, holding something out for him. "I-I apologize for what I said earlier. I went too overboard. It wasn't my place to bring up yer personal stuff and do that to uh. Here, take this as an apology. " His figure was unmoving, mind registering your words and eyes scanning your figure until they eventually stopped on your hands holding a dinosaur plushie. "Don't worry. It's not unsanitary or anythin. I just purchased it before comin to Japan. Bought it to give it to uh in the first place." Your head was sideways as warmth started consuming your cheeks. A good few minutes after when you thought to retract your hand and that your apology was in vain, his hand reached out, taking the plushie. No words were exchanged between the two any further but everyone knew it was somehow a start of a beautiful friendship.... and maybe something more in the future.

Kiyoko just smiled slightly 'Cliche yet cute.

Headcannon: Filipino! Kageyama

Title: what the hell is a ‘halo halo’??

Prompt: Kageyama is a half filipino, combine that with a few lessons on world history involvine the Philippines, a few filipino delicacies, and some memes while you’re at it turns out to be a chaotic mess

Kageyama is a half japanese, half filipino. His mother being a filipina, and his father being the other.

Kageyama’s lunch has always been rice and ulam or also known as the main dish. His lunch always has rice. You can’t forget the rice.

Hinata, Yamaguchi, Tanaka, Nishinoya, Yachi, and Sugawara came to his house to study because of the dumb four needs help to pass their exams. When Hinata was hungry, he opened the fridge’s freezer and took the tub of ice cream.

“KAGEYAMA!! I’M TAKING YOUR ICE CREAM TUB!” Hinata says. “Oooh! I want ice cream too!” Yachi stood up and went to Hinata, “EHHH? ME TOO!” Tanaka jumped up, Nishinoya soon followed. Kageyama froze. “..But we don’t have any ice cream.” Kageyama mutters, to which only Yamaguchi and Sugawara heard. “What do you mean you don’t?” Yamaguchi looked at the obvious ice cream tub.

Hinata grabbed a spoon and opened the tub, and ate the contents of it.

He fucking ate raw fish.

“bWeeeRghHhhhh” “OH SHI-“ “WHY DOES THE TUB HAVE RAW FISH?!” “HINATA THE TRASH CAN IS OVER HERE!

He puked.

Heck, he didn’t even looked at the tub before he ate the spoonful of raw fish!

“I-I think I’m good without having any ice cream!” Yachi backed off lmao. “KAGEYAMA!! Why is there fish in the ice cream tub?!” He said, whining. “Well, my mom usually reuses the containers to put other food inside of them. She says it’d be a waste to not use them.” Kageyama said. “A-Ah. So that’s why..” Yamaguchi sweatdropped.

Sugawara, being the mom he is immediately took action and took care of his child, giving him water.

Dumb Hinata

“Ah, gomenasai! I’ll get you all something as an apology!” Kageyama’s mom says.

And that’s how the group got themselves some Halo Halo.

“Finally! Proper ice cream!” “That’s technically not ice cream.” “Blehh, better than raw fish!”

After a while, the vbc had a camping event in the mountain on the weekend for team building

They all hiked up the mountain, played volleyball, and do the things you’d normally do at camping

The managers were preparing a barbecue, so when it was time to eat, a realization had dawned on them

They had no plates or utensils prepared.

“Uhh, didn’t we bring any plates with us?” Kiyoko asked, Ukai tensed. “Fuck..” He facepalmed.

But don’t worry!! Kageyama is here!

Kageyama went into the forest and grabbed himself a large banana leaf

“Can anybody tell me why Kageyama is washing and cleaning a leaf??” Daichi sweatdropped. “Just wait.” Kageyama said.

He placed the leaf over the table and there, lo and behold! A makeshift large paper leaf plate was introduced to the server

One more problem was left

“Okay, but how do we eat though? We didn’t bring untensils or chopsticks..” “Hands.” “What?” “We’ll eat with our hands.”

The team was distaught, they were supposed to eat with their hands??? What??????

Kageyama began eating the food with his bare hands.

Everybody just awkwardly followed

On that night the team had educated themselves about filipino’s boodle fight taught by Kageyama.

One time on cooking class, their teacher was making them cook something from a different country

Kageyama’s group were supposed to make Adobo.

Kageyama just whispered something under his breath.

“Ngayon magluluto tayo ng adawbang manowk..” “Excuse me, what??”

This continued on when he saw the chicken.

“Manok na pula.. Mukhang matapang-..” “I’m not even going to ask anymore.”

Kageyama often calls Hinata ‘Bobo’ as well

Hinata thought he was complimenting him

Poor, poor Hinata.

“Bobo, Hinata!!” “Huh? What does that mean?” “It means you did great.” (sarcasm)

Hinata didn’t pick up on the sarcasm

And genuinely thought that bobo means you did great.

This leads to him calling other players bobo too.

“BOBO, HOSHIUMI!!” “BOBO, KENMAAA!” “BOBO KAGEYAMA!!!”

Sakusa was also called Bobo by Hinata

But he knew what it truly meant, as he had few filipino relatives of his own.

“Uhh.. Hinata, so you know what bobo means??” Sakusa asked. “Mhmm! Kageyama told me it meant ‘You did great!’” Hinata replied. Sakusa sighed. “..Hinata, bobo means stupid..” “E-EHH?!”

Lets just say that Hinata only called Kageyama that from now on.

Halo-Halo - also spelled haluhalo, is a popular Filipino cold dessert which is a concoction of crushed ice, evaporated milk and various ingredients including, among others, ube, ice cream, sweetened beans, coconut strips, and more!

Adobo - is a popular Filipino dish and cooking process in Philippine cuisine that involves meat, seafood, or vegetables marinated in vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, and black peppercorns, which is browned in oil, and simmered in the marinade.

Boodle Fight - it is a filipino activity, where people would use a large clean banana leaves as a subsitute for platers and use their hands to eat instead of spoons and forks

KAGEYAMA TOBIO

He's the first person that came to mind. But I'm seeing something tsundere. I see him suppressing this 'weird feeling' (poor boy didn't even know he likes loves you). But I see this weird spark, the strong desire to change whatever your status may be. I see him getting all flustered, getting extra handful, extra pissed with you around. But above all, I see a one afternoon. Everybody is tired and on the edge of their patience. I see the boys in a quarrel - potentially Kageyama and Hinata - over a stupid quick they couldn't pull. In the attempts of alleviating the sinking tension, you try to calm him down, only to add fuel to his enlarging anger. Giving up, you probably roll your eyes or heave a sigh or turn your back in front of Kageyama. And so, this scares him. His heart raises a beat in fear. Why does it feel like this is your last eye roll, your last sigh, or the last time you'd turn back on him as you'd never come back again? Before Kageyama could contain himself, the surging inexplicable feeling has already moved on its own. And before he knew it, he muttered it.

"I love you," and his cheeks are painfully red given his complexion. His hands are in a fist as he decides to not look at you, "I'll see you after practice," he replies in almost a grumble as he turns his back on you.

IWAIZUMI HAJIME

I've spoken about this in a different story once but man, Iwaizumi has long been attracted to you. Perhaps it was during the introduction in class, or at the flag assembly on Monday, or the way you are able to compete with Oikawa's sass. But the bottomline is, he likes you, and he's definitely going to confess to you. When would it be? He wonders. It has to be perfect. No, your birthday nor his is not the perfect time. What about when he gets home with a trophy on hand after his interhigh matches? At nights, Iwaizumi would pull a fistful of his hair along with a groan. Frustrated at his self because no matter how he tried, he couldn't envision the perfect moment to tell you how you mean to him.

But maybe the perfect moment was not meant to be planned all along? Iwaizumi's jaw is in a drop as he stares at you. A scroll on your hand as tears of what he presumed is joy and sorrow rolled at your cheeks. Nonetheless, you smiled while keeping your sob in front of your friend's camera, with the banner of "Graduation Exercise" as your background. Iwaizumi immediately knew it was the perfect moment. Everything just felt so right. It felt right to run away from his friends' grasps, to stumble on other graduates, to reach for your shoulder and to blush as he realized how impulsive must he seem to be. It felt right to ask to drag you to a rather less crowded place and it felt right to pull the second button of his uniform as he muttered, "Y/N, I love you," so sweetly.

KITA SHINSUKE

Kita thought he was efficient in showing how you meant to him. He thought looking out for you, carrying your bag for you, walking you towards your room and towards your ride after school made his intentions clear. It seems like these, and the messages you both shared at night, and the lunches you exchanged during breaks weren't enough. What was lacking? What was missing? Kita has always been an inefficient student but for the very first time, he encounters a puzzle he just can't seem to solve. He has the pieces all along - service, affection, bond. What- Where is the missing puzzle piece.

I see Kita as someone who gets straight to the point. I definitely see him wanting to get rid of this inexplicable feeling and so, he means to confront you. But alas, one look at you one evening as you wait at the bleachers for their practice to finish was all he needed. The missing piece was in his grasp all along. He couldn't help but let out a soft smile as he walk towards your way, "I love you," immediately escaping his lips when you stood from your seat.

Summary: Japan Men's National Volleyball Team goes on a trip to the Philippines and experiences the culture.

AN: Inspired by @jellxnew and @ellewords. Sorry I tagged you but this monstrosity is kinda your fault. And yes, this is just an intro and it's going to be a series. Why? Because. And yes, there's also a reference to that Iwa-chan stuffed toy becayse, why not?

For some half-assed reason of marketing and promotion, Kuroo somehow pulled a few strings and earned the team some out-of-the-country vacation time. With the condition that they would continue to train, Iwaizumi Hajime ended up going with them. When Osamu heard about it from Akaashi who heard about it from Bokuto, he decided to tag along.

Kuroo had no issues with it since Osamu said he'd pay for his own travel.

The trip was to the Philippines and the younger Miya twin thought it would be a good experience to further his culinary knowledge. As a child, he and Atsumu knew a kind Filipino lady who lived across the street. Whenever she cooked for her family, she would make a lot of extra and share it with the neighbors. Which was why, growing up, he and his twin knew the taste of Adobo, Menudo, Sinigang, Afritada and Kare Kare.

Atsumu was just as excited as he was when he learned where they were going. No doubt also recalling the nostalgic memory of that kind lady.

The excitable guys in the team were just giddy about going abroad, even the one who had been living in Brazil for a long time. Osamu and Atsumu mentioned Filipino food which only added to the group's excitement. And so, the first agenda of the group is decided: food.

An argument about what to eat first broke during their four-hour plane ride. Iwaizumi suddenly regretted going and glared at Kuroo who grinned obnoxiously at him.

"I still haven't forgotten about that stuffed toy, Kuroo" he threatened

Kuroo just laughed, much to his annoyance.

When they arrived at the airport, there were hundreds of reporters waiting for them. To their surprise, the questions they get are mostly about food and only little about their training.

"Filipinos really love food huh?" Bokuto commented.

"Samu's in heaven" Suna commented but Osamu wasn't even listening anymore. He was already off on his own world, staring at a fast-food restaurant called "Jollibee”.

With the help of the translator/tour guide assigned to them, Kuroo managed to convince Osamu to head to the hotel first.

The one-hour drive through traffic was thankfully more bearable due to their tour guide distracting the hyperactive guys, talking about nothing but Filipino food.

Osamu was already taking notes. He had just discovered that there are dozens of ways to make Sinigang.

Iwaizumi managed to convince the more energetic guys to take a rest before going out to explore. They mostly agreed because their guide suggested ordering Jollibee to settle them down.

Dozens of brown paper bags with the logo of a happy bee arrived soon and the boys got too busy munching on some Chicken Joy, Yum Burgers, Jolly Hotdogs and Ube Cheese Pies.

"I wanna live here, Kuroooooo~" Bokuto cried with a mouthful of pie.

Shaking his head, Kuroo muttered "We haven't even seen the sights yet and you're already like this."

With the boys full and feeling the exhaustion of their trip, Iwaizumi took the opportunity to plan with their tour guide and Kuroo on how to manage the large team who wanted to go to different places first.

As a result, the team was split into groups.

Kageyama stands confused in front of a new section in the department store. He looks at the different Christmas tree products displayed. He turns and sees shelves and tables of different Christmas design ornaments. He frowns when he hears that familiar song "Christmas in our hearts" you played this morning playing at the speaker.

He turns to you who is fondly looking at the small Christmas-y looking small houses on tje table.

"I-I don't get it," he said. You turn to him seeing that usual cold looking demeanor. Though, you do know he means well. He's just culture shock, that's all.

"It's only September and they're already selling Christmas decorations?" He added.

"That's just the Filipino way. So much that we love Christmas, we get more excited when the Ber months arrive," You walk over to the Christmas trees.

"So that's why you're playing that Christmas song this morning," he added.

You nodded with a smile. "It's a little tradition I make for myself. The moment September 1 arrives, I make sure to play that famous Christmas song. It just makes me feel like there is something great to wait for," you said with a smile.

Kageyama looks back again at all the decorations being sold. "What do you like about it?"

"About Christmas?" He nods to the question.

Kageyama nods and a small smile slips at the corner of his lips. "See it for myself. Are you introducing me to your parents?" He raises both his eyebrows.

Your eyes wide open at the realization. "Oh, I mean- I mean if you're comfortable too?"

A bit of nervousness broke through you. You've never exactly properly introduced him to your family before. You've told them about him, but they haven't exactly seen or met him yet. You do not if it's a big deal as well for others to introduce their significant others to their parents, but a part of you is just plain nervous about the whole idea. You've never done such a thing.

He takes a step closer to you and pushes a strand of hair away from your eyes. "I'm fine with it. It would be nice to meet them once and for all...and you could probably introduce me as your fiance?"

You nod, but you don't get to process what you were nodding to until a few seconds later. Your eyes shot to his. He chuckles at the reaction.

"Wh-what?"

Kageyama rubs the back of his head in embarrassment. "Well, I-I was planning on proposing...yesterday,"

"YESTERDAY?" You may have shouted louder than usual making other people look your way.

Your heart may have stopped beating for a second at the sight of the ring box. What more if you see the ring and hear the question?

"Wait, I don't think this is the right place to do it. I was told it's supposed to be somewhere romantic," he looks around.

You laugh. "Are you torturing me, Tobio?"

you both got lost while walking and got faraway from the trail

thankfully, the villagers who lived not faraway from the mountain trail found you

he’s friendly so he already made friends their despite it only your 2nd day

he’s quite popular with the elders especially grandmas so he’s the favorite while you’re often bombarded with questions.

“They actually won.” Oikawa said thoughtfully, leaning back in his seat, eyes still trained on the Karasuno male volleyball club.

Both teams lined up to thank the crowd for the support, and from the stands you can see just how happy your brother, Tobio, is in his own little way.

You, on the other hand, were ecstatic for the boys and their win against Shiratorizawa. 

Cheering and clapping with the rest of the crowd, you grabbed Oikawa’s hand before he can even think of slipping away before you got the chance to congratulate Tobio properly.

“(Y/N)-chan,” Oikawa whined, already pouting, as you dragged him down the stands and to the court. “I don’t want to congratulate him.”

Oikawa and Tobio constantly butted heads, but have decided to at least try and be civil for your sake. You understood why they’re such children with one another, but you just want them to get along and not be at each others’ throats every 5 seconds.

“C’mon, Tooru, at least just this once,” You pleaded with him. “at least do it for me.” That elicited a groan from your boyfriend, his resolve was weak when it comes to you, and he hates it when you use that line against him.

Upon reaching the court, you made sure to congratulate the rest of the team as you made your way to your brother. 

“Tobio, you did it!” You hugged him tightly.“Thanks, (Y/N)” He said, a small smile on his lips, hugging you back, Tobio was just happy to have you here and watch him win. He’s never truly expressed it with you, but he just wants someone to support him through thick and thin in each one of his games.

Behind you Oikawa let out a huff, still pouting like a petulant child, as he looked at you and Tobio. “Don’t hug him! I’m right here, babe, hug me instead.”

 “Don’t you have something to say, Oikawa?” You smiled sweetly at him, arm slung around your brother’s shoulders, ignoring his childish outburst.

The look of utter betrayal was burning in his eyes when you called him by his last name. Oikawa huffed, but directed a forced smile to Tobio. “C-cong … congratulations on winning against Shiratorizawa.” He said those words so fast you could barely understand it, but you knew Oikawa wouldn’t dare repeat himself.

Tobio heard it clear as day though, and a smug smile made its way onto his lips. “Thank you, Oikawa-san.”

Hinata Shōyo and your best friend were cousins, so when Hinata decided to throw a birthday bbq at his house, your friend asked if you could help with setting up a few hours before guests arrive

You had nothing better to do so you agreed

When you got to the house, Hinata exuberantly greeted the two of you and introduced himself to you

You did the same and as you followed them to the backyard, someone had shouted at his phone from the living room

You looked in that direction strangely

“Don’t mind my grumpy friend Kageyama over there. I don’t know why he’s here.” Hinata waved dismissively in his direction. “He came early because I told him we had those milk boxes he likes I guess, trying to see if he would help, but obviously not. He’s too LAZY!” Shōyo made sure to yell the word ‘LAZY’ so the house could hear then he quickly ducked because Kags had thrown a pillow at his head.

Laughing, Hinata chastised his setter for almost hitting the girls.

Lifting his head, Kageyama finally noticed that there were females here. He had been too wrapped up in watching the Seijoh volleyball game on YouTube.

“Oh. I apologize.” He muttered from the living room, coming to collect the pillow he threw. When he came face to face with you three, he immediately blushed when his eyes landed on you.

You and your friend blew up balloons, taped streamers to the fences in the backyard, and set out food before you heard a devastated howl from Hinata coming from inside the kitchen

You looked at your friend and both of you sprinted to the kitchen.

There, you see a clumsy Hinata trying to recover a fallen cake his parents had ordered

Annoyed, your friend snapped at him for dropping it and Shōyo looked so sad

You felt bad so you offered to bake him a new one before the guests came. You were a great baker and his kitchen seemed stacked so it wouldn’t be too hard

You put on the apron that his kitchen offered and got right to work. You took the liberty of playing on music on your phone as you got all the ingredients out and started your fun

He went in the kitchen with the intention of asking whoever was playing it to be respectful and shut it off, but his complaint caught in his throat when he realized it was you there

You had your back to him and you were dancing and whisking around the kitchen like some sort of baking glider

You had an apron around you which somehow made Kags think you were even cuter

When you got on your tippy toes to reach for the baking powder, really struggling...... your back was met with Kageyama’s front as he easily reached for the ingredient and brought it back down for you to take

You blushed as you took the ingredient and turned around to him.

“Thank you.” You almost whispered. “D-do you mind getting the vanilla extract and sugar from up there, too?”

He nodded and did just that, placing it behind you on the counter.

“Anything else?” He challenged, liking the fact that you were blushing.

“Um, you want.... to help?” You moved away, grabbing a bowl and bringing it back over.

Kageyama shrugged. “Why not? Don’t tell me you listened to that boke Hinata when he called me lazy. It’s true that I do not want to help him, but I have no problem helping you.”

Maybe you were imagining things, but the way Kags said “you” made it seem like there was something special about you, and that even if anyone else were to ask he still wouldn’t offer his help. It was because it was you.

You smiled at him kindly and asked him to crack those 6 eggs in the bowl you just brought and beat them.

Kageyama bowed and agreed, pulling his sleeves up to wash his hands first.

“You’ve done this before.” You note, watching as he spot-poured the milk without using a measuring cup.

“My sister loves to bake and I would do it with her a lot when I was young. How did you get so good?”

You had to think about that. “I’m not sure actually. Practice.”

Kageyama looked over at you with his midnight blue eyes. You wanted to melt. “That’s usually how it works.” He remarked. “Hey- uh...you have—“ awkwardly, Tobio tried to let you know that you had flour on your eyebrow.

Confused, you tried wiping your face but only smudged it around more.

He sighed in slight annoyance but mostly because he didn’t like how your cuteness was making him feel like Hinata or something.

“Just get it for me.” You demanded, annoyed too that you probably looked funny in front of this cute boy.

Kags smirked before moving to break off a piece of paper towel, coming back over to you, he asked, “May I?”

You nodded. He gently lifted your chin with his free hand, then used the other holding the paper towel to wipe off the flour. You noticed that his fingers holding your chin were very smooth, as if he lotions them every couple seconds. It was soothing.

Tobio studied every feature of your beautiful face, his heart pounding as you had your eyes closed. When he stalled to drink you in, you became worried.

“Did you get it? Is it coming off?” You ask with an eyebrow quirked, though your eyes were still closed. Kageyama chuckled. Even though your face was spotless and beautiful as ever again, he still wiped around your face gently more, trying to extend the amount of time you were this close to him a while longer. “Almost.” He caresses your jawline with the paper towel. “All done.”

“Kageyama, stop bugging my cousins friend!!!!” Hinata shouted as he slipped into the kitchen. You two pulled away from eachother. Shōyo stopped when he saw you two. “Wait a second—Kageyama. Are you actually—helping!?”

Tobio opened his mouth to respond until you did it for him.

“He was a great help. It’s actually ready to go in the oven now. Way earlier than I expected!”

“Good.” Kags muttered before looking down shyly.

Shōyo stood there for a second more than he should, finally understanding by seeing his setter blush that Kageyama had a little crush on you. It all made sense. It is the only reason Kageyama agreed to come early. Must be. Hinata had told Kags that you and his cousin would be here setting up. Even though you two had never met officially , you had gone to Karasuno’s games with his cousin so Kageyama must have noticed you there!

“Kageyama—“ Hinata called, but he too stopped when he watched Kags walk over to you and softly ask you what else you need help with.

Hinata recalled how Kageyama would speak to his old middle school team—so rude and condescending. Then, when he joined Karasuno his voice softened a bit to respectful with only a smidge condescending. Now, hearing him speak to you—there wasn’t a hint of anything condescending or rude in his tone of voice. He sounded gentle and happy.

Hinata just shut his mouth for once and went back into the backyard.

Kageyama developed quite the crush on you after that day, and you couldn’t really deny that you did too
