Normally, Paige loved how good you were with Drew. How whenever he started talking about school or basketball, you always raptly paid attention, asking questions and making jokes. She loved how gentle you were with him, how when he was being too loud you always managed to bring his energy down to a more appropriate level without yelling at him.

But right now, she couldn’t help but feel annoyed at how focused you were on Drew when you were supposed to be focused on her.

“And Dad bought me three new skins for my birthday! Here, let me show you all of them.” Drew scrambled to find his iPad, and for what seemed like the millionth time, Paige leaned into you, tugging your shirt sleeve at the elbow.

“Can we go now?” she whined. “You said we would watch the wolves game together.”

“Just give me a few more minutes,” you whispered back, not even bothering to look at her. “Let me see Drew’s skins.”

Paige loudly huffed. She was bored out of her mind. “The game’s starting in five minutes, you know,” she urged, widening her eyes to show her eagerness.

“I know, you just said that two minutes ago. You go on up first, I’ll be there in a few,” you said dismissively before enthusiastically throwing yourself into yet another conversation with Drew about Fortnite.

Grumbling under her breath, Paige went up the stairs, making sure to aggressively stomp to get her impatience across. When she reached the top, she turned around, but you didn’t seem to have noticed her attitude at all, eyes totally glued to Drew’s screen.

The Timberwolves vs Mavericks game started, but Paige couldn’t enjoy it without you. Her annoyance grew as she heard you and her little brother’s raucous laughs echoing from the basement. She clenched her jaw, wondering how you were more interested childish things like Fortnite (as if she hadn’t played that game for hours every night the past month) than a basketball game with your very sexy girlfriend.

Paige was able to ignore her frustrations momentarily and get lost in the game, but when Anthony Edwards scored a buzzer-beater three to end the first quarter and she jumped up and down, instinctively going to grab you out of excitement, she realized again that you still hadn’t come up. With a groan, she headed back downstairs.

This time, you and Drew were playing on the Nintendo, both of you fully zoned in on building your Minecraft world. “Hey.” You felt a flick on your head and turned around to see a grumpy Paige. “You just missed Ant’s best moment of the season,” she declared, hoping you’d feel disappointed at having missed the highlight.

But you only said, “Oh, damn,” before turning back to the screen.

Paige sighed and decided to try again. “He shot from full court to put the wolves up at the end of first,” she prodded, hoping you’d get excited. But you merely nodded before turning to Drew and asking if he wanted to switch to creative mode.

Paige switched tactics. “Drew,” she said in a sing-song voice. “I think your screen time is up.”

Drew wrinkled his eyebrow, not tearing his gaze from the TV. “I don’t have a screen time.”

Paige stepped in front of the TV, forcing both of you to finally look at her. “Do either of you want ice cream?” she tried, smiling hopefully. “I’ll drive us to Baskin Robbin’s.”

“I’m still pretty full from lunch,” you said, “but thanks babe.”

“Yeah, me too,” Drew agreed. “Can you move now?”

Paige begrudgingly moved aside, jaw tightened as she grinded her teeth. Returning back upstairs, she watched the rest of the NBA game in a brooding silence. She felt slightly immature for being jealous of the attention her brother was receiving from you, but she’d had a long day and all she wanted was to be in your arms, watching her favorite team play.

During dinner, Paige stayed quiet as you and Drew continued your conversation about whatever new game you’d moved onto playing. You were totally oblivious to her irritation of being neglected, thinking she was just sleepy. Paige perked up after dinner, thinking Drew would fall into a food coma and escape to his room, but instead he insisted on showing you two the clothes he’d bought recently.

“I saved the best for last,” Drew announced after twenty minutes of giving you two a detailed and intricate fashion show. He ran to the bathroom, then quickly reappeared in a neat black tuxedo, with a navy pin stripe tie finished with shiny leather oxfords.

“Oh my god!” you squealed, bending down to squeeze his cheeks. “You look so adorable.”

Drew blushed at the attention as you continued to shower him with praises. Paige’s mouth dropped as she glared at the two of you. “Are you serious?” she complained. “You never react like this when I show you my shopping hauls.”

You raised an eyebrow at your girlfriend. “Maybe that’s because you buy the same grey sweatpants each time.” Drew snickered and gave you a fist bump as Paige fought back a smile, trying to mask it under feigned annoyance.

“You two are unbelievable,” she declared. “I regret letting you guys meet.”

“You’re just mad your girlfriend likes me more than she likes you,” Drew shot back, earning another high five and round of giggles between the two of you.

Paige made a show of getting up from her seat. “Well, I’ll leave you two alone since you guys hate me so bad,” she said dramatically.

It was almost 1 AM when you silently crept up to Paige’s childhood bedroom. You and Drew had stayed up gaming for hours, long after Paige had gone up to finish some homework and study. You expected the blonde to already be fast asleep, but when you opened the door, she was using her phone in bed.

“P?” You whispered, startling her.

“Dude.” Paige fixed you with an unforgiving look after recovering from her shock. “It’s literally one. What were you guys doing that took so long?”

“Sorry,” you said sheepishly, letting the door quietly shut behind you. “We were really getting into it.”

“Yeah, I can tell,” Paige said, rolling her eyes. She plugged a charger into her phone and set it on the bedside table, clearly ready to go to sleep. You shrugged and headed to the bathroom to brush your teeth and get ready for bed. But when you climbed into bed and leaned over to give the blonde a kiss, she dodged it. Ignoring your confused stare, she rolled over, turning her back on you.

“Woah.” You tapped her shoulder. “What’s up with you?”

“What’s up with me?” Paige suddenly shot up straight in bed. “You spent the entire day ignoring me. I’m starting to think you’re only dating me to become friends with my little brother,” she complained.

A small smile slowly worked its way onto your face as realization dawned on you. Paige hadn’t been tired all day. “Aw, Paige,” you teased. “Are you jealous of your 10 year old brother right now?”

Realizing how ridiculous the situation sounded, Paige avoided eye contact with you, instead concentrating on pulling the comforter around her. “No,” she said unconvincingly, her voice tiny.

“I know you’re lying, baby,” you chuckled. You reached over to cup the blonde’s face in your hands, giving her an adoring look. “You’re so cute.”

“Stop it,” Paige blushed, swatting you away. “I’m still mad at you.”

“Hey, I never see your brother!” you defended. “You can’t get mad that I’m excited to see him.”

“I know,” Paige whined. “But you don’t have to totally ignore me.”

You felt a slight pang of guilt as you thought back to how you’d completely forgotten about the Timberwolves game that Paige had been so excited to watch with you. Granted, she was excited about every wolves game, but still. “Paige Madison Bueckers,” you intonated slowly, clasping your hands together. “I am immensely sorry for the pain I have caused you today.” You planted a big and sloppy kiss smack in the middle of her forehead, causing her to groan and wipe away the slobber. “You are the light of my life,” you said solemnly. “The apple of my eye. My favorite person on earth.”

Paige pursed her mouth, trying to prevent the corners of her lips from curving upwards. “And?”

“Never again will I ignore you or miss a wolves game.” You hesitated. “Wait, can I take back that last part? You watch so many of their games it’s hard to keep up-”

Paige’s eyes narrowed and you decided to cut yourself off before you dug a deeper hole. “Nevermind!” you said brightly. “I will never again forget to watch a wolves game with my beautiful, sexy, gorgeous, incredible girlfriend.”

The blonde beamed up at you. “That’s more like it.”

You toyed at the collar of her shirt, letting your fingers brush gently across the soft skin on her neck. Looking up at her through your lashes, you said as seductively as you could, “Now can I kiss you?”

“Fuck yeah,” she muttered, grabbing your hips and pulling you in.

Paige hops off the counter and comes behind you wrapping her arms around your waist, her chin on yours shoulder. She leans into you “I’m sorry baby I’ll help” she whispers before kissing your cheek.

Paige puts her hand on the small of your back leading you to her car. You turn around outside and put your hand on her cheek your thumb moving back in forth on her skin. She leans down and kisses you while her hand opens the car door behind you.

My opinion on all the skins from the new marvel season

Gwenpool: I think she looks awesome! I love her suitless casual style! Confession: I only know who she is because of Lego Marvel superheroes 2.

War Machine: to completely honest, I do not care about war machine. He's a cool character, don't get me wrong, but to me he just... Exists. But the fortnite skin is amazing, especially the alternate style.

Peelverine: do I really need to explain why I like peelverine? He looks absolutely incredible, and the X-Force style looks just as good!

Emma Frost: mommy? Sorry, mommy? Sorry, mommy? Sorry-

Yeah I'm in love already. New f/o alert. She's definitely not replacing Antonia, but I'm definitely gonna use her in game a lot.

Captain Jones: I feel like he's either gonna be absolutely iconic, or he's gonna be forgotten by the next season. I think he looks very cool, and I already feel like my brother is gonna really like him.

Mysterio: I've been calling him Jake Gyllenhaal. His secondary style is even a reference to all too well (ten minute version)!* Jokes aside, epic did a really good job making it look comic accurate, and the secondary style looks really cool

Shuri: I'm gonna go on a rant here.

Shuri looks awesome, she's one of my favourite marvel characters and I'm so happy that she's in fortnite, but she should not have been the tier 100. The season is called absolute DOOM. Doom should've been the tier 100, not shuri. But putting that aside, I think she looks incredible, and I'm definitely gonna use the skin.

Last but not least, Doom.

He looks awesome, I'm not gonna lie. But he shouldn't have been the secret skin. Making people wait for the namesake of the season is a bad move on epic's part. Here's what I think they should've done.

They should've made peelverine the tier 1, then have doom as the tier 100 and gwenpool as the secret skin. But that's just my opinion.

★Travis loves playing with you but he deadass sucks at the game. He's convinced he's really good and constantly gloats whenever you guys get a win as if he did all the work but the truth is you usually end up carrying him.

★"He's low, trust!"

★"TRAVIS HE'S AT FULL HP-"

★Although he'd never admit it, Travis LOVES coming to your house to watch you play. He lowkey really likes cuddling with you but his ego gets in the way of asking, so watching you play gives him the perfect excuse.

★[You figured it out a while ago due to the way he'll come over and immediately pull you into his arms while barely paying attention to the screen even though he claims to be there just for the game]

★When you play together, Travis always picks the "manly" skins [aka he picks the dumb skins that only middle school boys think are cool, and you like to tease him about it]. You like matching with him and he pretends to find it lame but he actually thinks it's really cute but doesn't want to express that.

★[You find it especially funny to chose some super girly skin when you play in creative mode because he always gets super mad when he gets clipped by a character covered in glitter.]

★Whenever you die first and have to spectate Travis it's either hilarious or absolute torture- usually both.

★"I'm gonna sneak up behind this dude and picaxe them-"

★Travis has a love hate relationship with cars- ever since the new season if you acquire a car he considers it god but if you don't he complains about it the whole match.

★*travis flies past the battle at full speed, effectively accomplishing nothing*

★Even before the new update Travis has always been terrible with cars- you can't name the amount of times you've lost a match because you let him drive and he drove straight into a gas station.

★"Are you playing with Van?"

★"Yeah, say hi-"

★"-What does she have that I don't?"

★"AIM."

★You guys have lost a match once because he got a boogie bomb and didn't know what it did so he accidentally threw it at your feet while you were fighting someone.

★Travis was fucking stolen once. Like, he got downed and the enemy just, picked him up and got in a car. You're pretty sure you've never laughed as hard as you did when you ran to get him back as he yelled over the mic.

★You've also sent him a few group emotes because you think it's cute to do them while you wait for the match to start, but sometimes he'll be a dick about it and awkwardly walk away while your character stands there with their arms out for a hug.

★[someone else ran up to you and finished the emote with you and he got SUPER JEALOUS. like he pushed them away with his pic and made you do the emote again so he could do it with you.]

I was always a sucker for the wasteland, punkish aesthetic so this season's bringing the mad max out of me-

This battle pass looks fucking terrible.

I don't like any of these rewards. They just gave everyone the same white and black outfit and slathered the same goop on one side. I don't know enough about design to tell you why, but nothing here looks good. These skins are fucking aweful.

Like I'm genuinely considering not purchasing this battle pass and I have free coins. Like, did they burn up all their ideas last season? Last season was killer. Like did they put a lot of work into their cosmetics to make up for not having a new legend? I was okay with it. But so far this season is not impressing me... Something I came to realize playing fortnite last week was that I will always have that addictive dopamine rush of unlocking a new thing just to keep a game fresh, but once I get it I'll realize: oh I only really like using X Y or Z. I unfavorited a lot of skins in apex because I just don't like them and I'm very wary of buying new ones in fortnite because once the rush is over I just keep using the same 3 or 4 I like. Maybe I'm reaching that point where I just have one GOOD skin for every character in apex, and I'm privledged? But I don't think I'd use any of these. Everything I have is better. Which sucks because Seer's been needing a weird new skin, all of his stuff looks the same. I just. I look at these, and I see a mess. Like a Michael bay transformer, these look like a mess. For contrast: here's the skins we were given for free, in the battle pass, event stores, or that I unlocked last season (though some aren't season specific)

I might be slightly off on the timing of some of these, but like... These are all skins where you can fucking clearly see a design, an intent, a goal, the colors work well together, you can tell what the fucking character is. These new skins are nothing. (I'll also grant that the lifeline and bloodhound skins are old re-works but I only got them last season) My point is, looking at these new skins they're fucking nothing. There's nothing there. I am excited for Apex to have it's very own Juri Han from SF or Jinx from League of Legends type girl, A lot of characters get the same basic apex pack skins and you get some characters like Catalyst, or Wraith, or Valk, or Lifeline where the colors are placed well and look good on a character. Conduit's overall scheme changes and pops based on even the basic skins. You kind of need to find a balance of colors and a space where the familiar stuff like "Arachnophobia" and "alpha royal" textures can dramatically alter the skin, and the texture can pop. Sometimes you get Ballistic, or Wattson where it's either too small, or it's paired with Wattson's weird grey scheme so they stuff doesn't work together. I do think some of Alter's stuff pops pretty well in the rare tier: I've never liked either of these, but they look phenominal with her hair and sort of head shadow.

But her common skins are kinda nothing. Idk my big takeaway as I get older are developers struggling with deadlines have to choose what to invest their time into and I feel the more I play things like Fortnite, Apex, Starfield, MMO's I'm starting to recognize 'where the budget' (not just money, but resources and time) went. And I feel like Last season they just blew their whole load, and behind the scenes they were working on a new character, and by the time they finished her and blew all those other crazy skins out they maybe just didn't have any good ideas left? I dunno. I guess it's thematic but this...this season...these rewards...they're nothing. Also I'm not liking the look of yet another fucking currency added to the game. I know about as much as anyone else does about exotic shards, but until I have enough in a quantity that matters, or they lock something I want behind them I'm just gonna have the stance of "I don't completely get them, but after burning through almost all my level ups to get what might be my one and only heirloom I'm lowkey kinda pissed you're introducing something ELSE I could get into my apex packs."

Players of Epic Games massive multiplayer Battle Royale title Fortnite awoke on the morning of April 7, 2024 with disappointment as various cosmetic rewards they were promised were not delivered to them.

As part of the current Myths and Mortals season of Fortnite, players who have completed 20 weekly quests within the first four weeks of the season were to receive the first set of quest rewards today, however due to a glitch most players have not received them.

Despite completing many weekly quests, players are met with a “0/20 quests completed” progress bar when checking their progress in the Quest Rewards menu. All the effort players have put in over the last month is simply disregarded by the game.

The rewards (Which are all alternatives to the Cerberus cosmetic set) that players are unable to receive are as follows:

-Moonbow Breezer glider

-Cerberus banner icon

-Flash of Lightning item wrap

-Blazing Fire Cerberus skin

At the time of writing, Epic Games has yet to respond to player’s questions about this issue on any of their social media accounts. One can only hope for a swift reply at some point today.

While this glitch has affected and disappointed many players, there is some hope on the horizon for it being fixed soon. Fortnite will be undergoing maintenance to prepare for the upcoming Avatar: the Last Airbender collaboration on Tuesday. Even if this glitch isn't fixed over the weekend, it is unlikely that it would be ignored in the upcoming patch.

Until this glitch is patched and fixed by Epic Games, there isn't much players can do other than sit and wait for their alternative Cerberus cosmetics to become available.

Fortnite is currently available to download on Android, IOS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series S|X, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
