Cubik: You can't make everyone like you. You're not Kaito.
Gammon: What? Not everyone likes Kaito.
Nonoha: Who doesn't?
Gammon: Well-
Nonoha, grabbing a shovel: Names now, give me their names.
Gammon: Where the heck did you get that—
Freecell: Please kindly give us their names.
Rook and Cubik: *Waiting with computers in front of them*
Gammon: Don't tell me y'all are gonna hunt them down
All of them: Precisely

It's time for a random question to give you a break from all the serious syscourse questions and stuff... Do you prefer to play "Solitaire" or "Spider Solitaire"?
Between the two options, I think Spider Sol is the best! 😁
Ghost: Agreeing with Soph's opinion, but adding that the objectively best solitaire game is FreeCell. Easily. No contest.

i don't think of myself as particularly detail oriented because i'm clumsy and forgetful in a lot of ways but uh my two main hobbies right now are knitting and freecell, both of which are recreational sorting so maybe i'm working some things out

The Best of Microsoft Entertainment Pack (GBC Compilation) - FreeCell Longplay  A very challenging version of FreeCell, it took me a couple of hours to win a game. Alternatively, it could very well be me being poor at it, lol.

does anyone actually remember learning how to play solitaire / freecell or did you just dissociate in front of the computer for hours at a time every day until you became an unstoppable machine at age 9?
(also, does anyone know of an ad-free app to play windows 98-themed solitaire and freecell? maybe with a way to weed out the non-winnable games lol)

it's weird and beautiful to me that despite making an ad-free freecell app because i purely wanted to play freecell without ads, i now get emails in from people around the world thanking me for providing it.
i don't make any money from it, and barely recoup costs, but today i got an email from a man whose wife was a quadriplegic stroke victim and playing freecell while looking after her is the only thing that kept him sane?? 😭😭😭 worth every cent

Bastard Free Cell
ever get tired of free cell taking up tHE WhOLE GODDAMN TABLE?
So do I, so I'm trying to make a version of free cell that is still roughly as winnable. Here's the idea (assuming you already know how to play free cell):
Instead of starting with 4 stacks of 7 cards and 4 stacks of 6 cards, you start with the deck facedown and no cards on the board
Free cells are now your hand (though I guess they always could have been)
You still have the 4 suits and 4 free cells, but now you only got 4 stacks directly in front of you
In addition to taking cards off the board and putting them in your free cells, you can also draw from the deck into your free cells
In addition to laying cards of alternating colors onto the stacks in descending order, you can also stack the same number onto itself
The main thing I need help play testing right now is the fairness of further limitations.
Should colors still be alternated in the stacks? I've been playing that they should, but would it still be sufficiently challenging and strategic if each next card only needs to be a separate suit?
When stacking the same card, should colors alternate still? I haven't been doing that, but maybe it would make things more balanced.
When playing a new card on a stack with two or more of the same card, do the alternating colors only apply to the original card or does the order in which you place duplicates matter? I think order should matter, because it can back you into a corner that needs to be undone with free cells

Rook and Freecell: Due to personal reasons, we have decided to become incredibly evil.
Kaito: Rook! Freecell! Let's do a puzzle time together!
Rook and Freecell: Never mind, we're calm now.
